00:03Welcome to the Project Runway Season 14 Reunion Special.
00:07We'll first talk to the final six designers.
00:10The rest of the designers will join us a little later in the show.
00:14Designers, welcome back everyone.
00:16I'm so thrilled to see all of you again,
00:18and I'm eager to hear what you've been doing.
00:20Yeah.
00:20Alright.
00:22Ashley, congratulations again on your win.
00:25How do you feel?
00:26It feels so amazing to be the winner of Season 14.
00:31This is something that I've been wanting to do,
00:33and I can't believe that I took the chance to audition,
00:37and it's taken me this far, and this is like a dream come true.
00:42Well, your time here has been quite a ride.
00:45Yes.
00:46You've been on the top a lot, but you've also been on the bottom at times.
00:50Yes.
00:50What have you learned?
00:52It's been a roller coaster, but I think it has definitely made me a stronger person.
00:56than I was before coming here.
00:59And a stronger person in what way?
01:01I feel like I've definitely built a thicker skin,
01:03and I learned a lot about myself as a person and as a designer.
01:07You have been a consistent fan favorite this season.
01:10Mmm.
01:11And how does that make you feel?
01:12It feels so amazing to have so much love and support from everyone.
01:17I definitely felt like I told my story, and I want other people to know that plus-size women matter.
01:24And do you believe that creating a plus-size collection was a factor in your win?
01:28I'm not sure, but I just wanted to make a difference,
01:32and I can't believe that I am the person who is doing that right now.
01:36It's something to be very proud of.
01:37I definitely am proud of it.
01:39Do the rest of you think that the fact that Ashley created a plus-size collection factored into her win?
01:45Yeah, I think that she's definitely made a statement,
01:48and to do something that no one else has done, you know what I mean?
01:52Or, for lack of a better word, has the balls to do it.
01:55I think the line was good enough to win without being it on a plus-size model or a regular
02:00-size model.
02:01Mmm, thank you.
02:02And I think that's a sign of a good designer.
02:06Now, Kelly.
02:07Yeah?
02:08When you came to Project Runway and started, there were some pretty rocky moments in the beginning, correct?
02:13Definitely.
02:13Yeah.
02:14There was one judge in particular who gave you a pretty hard time.
02:19Nina?
02:19It was indeed Nina Garcia.
02:22I appreciate the rough critiques because, I mean, that's the only way I'm gonna get better.
02:26I agree with you.
02:27If people are gonna blow smoke up my ass all the time, I'm gonna, I don't know.
02:31Blow the smoke back up their own asses.
02:33You were so close to winning.
02:36Mm-hmm.
02:36How does that feel?
02:37I mean, I'm happy I just got the show at New York Fashion Week, and I have zero regrets.
02:42I love everything I did.
02:43There's nothing I would change with my collection or anything, and I'm excited to see where it's gonna take me,
02:48so.
02:48Yeah.
02:48Well, I want us all to take a look at the evolution of the Kelly Dempsey-Nina Garcia relationship.
02:55Okay.
02:56That's adorable.
02:56Let's take a look.
03:02This is a taste situation.
03:04I agree.
03:06But I will say, it's not poorly made.
03:09It's not poorly made.
03:10How do you get this on?
03:11I cannot believe you guys are saying that.
03:15Well, it's over.
03:15I like this.
03:17I love the jacket.
03:17This looks a little clownish.
03:20This faux fur looks like a bath mat.
03:23It does.
03:23It's awful.
03:24I am so ready to send her home.
03:27Ooh.
03:29Very interesting.
03:31It's not just the color, but the texture that makes it so interesting.
03:35And I am glad you listened about editing down.
03:39I did.
03:41That was my favorite dress.
03:43You killed it.
03:43That was my favorite dress.
03:44You killed it.
03:44You killed it.
03:45Wonderful.
03:45That is beautiful detail on the side.
03:48Really well done, Kelly.
03:50Really beautiful.
03:55Hallelujah, Kelly.
03:56I am used to seeing very over the top, embellished.
04:01You go crazy on the details.
04:03You have plenty of ideas and that's wonderful.
04:06But when you can really edit them down, you get this.
04:11And this looks fantastic.
04:13Thank you so much.
04:15Coming in to eat this competition, I just didn't know where I stand being like pretty much self-taught.
04:19And I'm like so grateful to even be here.
04:22It's a lot different than working at the deli at home.
04:24I can't tell you that much.
04:27Kelly, you succeeded in making Nina Garcia a believer.
04:32I did.
04:32And I don't believe a designer in the history of Project Runway has ever had such a profound impact on
04:38Nina and changing her mind.
04:41So congratulations for that.
04:43Thanks.
04:44Well, Edmund, you waited a long time to finally get here.
04:48And you made it onto the show and you showed at New York Fashion Week.
04:53How does that feel?
04:54Awesome, Tim.
04:55It's like a dream, you know, still living it.
04:58And I'm excited just to say that I've shown for the very first time at Fashion Week, you know?
05:04But I have to add, you were also a man of mystery.
05:09Mm-hmm.
05:11Mysterious, secretive.
05:12I didn't know that you kept your looks a secret from the other designers.
05:17And up until the last minute, too.
05:20Did you all realize that that was happening?
05:22Yeah.
05:23Not until the Hallmark Challenge.
05:24No, the Hallmark Challenge.
05:26I'm next to Edmund, and I dropped something on the ground.
05:29And this is like at the beginning, and I pick it up, and I see this, like, flower bouquet out
05:32of freaking cards.
05:34And I'm like, what is he doing over there?
05:36Stuffed under the table.
05:37And Edmund's like, oh, you didn't see that.
05:38He hides it real quick.
05:40I was like, I see what you're doing.
05:41I want us to all take a look at Edmund, Man of Mystery.
05:46What?
05:48You have an idea yet?
05:49Uh, kind of, sorta.
05:51I like to fly under the radar.
05:53Yours looks interesting.
05:54Although my vision is very clear of what I want to do, if anyone asks, I don't know.
05:59I don't know in a sec, because I didn't want to inspire anyone else.
06:04I'm not quite sure what Edmund's doing.
06:07Give us details, please.
06:09Should I say no?
06:10No one else will hear this right?
06:12No one else.
06:13He's got his head so screwed on tight in the game.
06:17Look at how cute that is.
06:19When did you do that?
06:20Edmund likes to surprise people.
06:22He pulls out this veil, and...
06:24When does he do all this?
06:26He's like always pulling tricks out of his bag.
06:28Like, you just don't know until the very end, and poof.
06:31Magician.
06:31It's always the quiet ones that pack the biggest punch.
06:37So, Edmund, what do you have to say about that?
06:39Mm-hmm.
06:40Well, looking at it, I mean, the proof is there.
06:43I think, yes.
06:43The proof is there.
06:44I personally, I guess, like the element of surprise.
06:48I've always been like that, and I guess I just...
06:50You just like to surprise other people.
06:51That's just something I do.
06:52I don't know.
06:54Now, Candace, what was the whole Project Runway experience like for you?
06:58I definitely think I grew.
07:00And I could say as a designer, as a woman, because when I got here, I had this relentless, like,
07:08drive.
07:08And I just didn't let anything else interfere with it.
07:11I like how half the room leaves when Candace starts talking.
07:25Candace starts to talk.
07:27But there were a few people who did influence me, and I think it let me open up a bit.
07:33Who?
07:33And softened me.
07:35You know, surprisingly enough, as much as everyone says that all Ashley did was cry, like, it a bit helped
07:43me understand that women have insecurities and it's a very beautiful thing.
07:49Okay.
07:50I'd like to hear from hashtag Merlene.
07:53Oh, snap.
07:55I hashtag you all the time, Tinga.
07:57For real.
07:57How was this experience for you?
07:59It has been the bomb and hard.
08:02But overall, I had a blast.
08:04I grew as a designer.
08:06I, like, figure out the kind of designer I want to be when I left Project Runway.
08:09So that was cool.
08:10And I always say, like, if I can do Project Runway, I can go to the moon and come back.
08:14You know what I mean?
08:14So this has been awesome.
08:15Well, you were definitely one of the more memorable designers ever to be on Project Runway.
08:21Yes.
08:21And I want us all to take a look.
08:24Oh, no!
08:25Gosh.
08:26You gotta make it work.
08:28You gotta make it work.
08:30You gotta make it work.
08:30Oh, my gosh.
08:30You gotta make it work.
08:31You gotta make it work.
08:33I can't believe those.
08:34You gotta make it work.
08:35I share my workspace with Merlene, and this bitch is singing like a songbird.
08:40Gotta make it work.
08:41Gotta make it work.
08:42I love you, Merlene.
08:43Gotta make it work.
08:44Oh, my gosh.
08:44Gotta make it work.
08:45You're driving me insane.
08:46Hashtag, make it work.
08:48Hashtag, challenge one.
08:50Hashtag, this is getting real.
08:52Hashtag, what's up?
08:55Okay, girl.
08:56Shut up.
08:57Shaka-laka-laka-laka-laka-boom.
09:00Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom.
09:02Back to Neverland.
09:05Jigga-bangga-bangga-bangga-boong-boong-boong-bong.
09:07Bigga-bingga-bang-gong-gong.
09:09Yay.
09:12Summer Lynn.
09:13I mean, where does all that energy come from?
09:15I wake up like this, Tim Gunn.
09:17No coffee.
09:19You're kidding.
09:20When I first met Marlene, I was like, is this an act?
09:22Because, like, if you're like this all the time, then I want to be your best friend.
09:26She wasn't one of the best people I met on this show.
09:28Probably one of the best people I've ever met in my life.
09:30You're so positive, and you're just a great person, and everyone I talk to says the same thing, and you're
09:36awesome, so.
09:38Well, Swapnil, you and I...
09:42Swapnil?
09:43Look at this all timid. Stop it.
09:45You and I had our ups and downs this season, did we not?
09:49Yep.
09:50Well, we're going to talk about that when we come back.
09:55Coming up on the Project Runway reunion special.
09:58You were not working up to your full potential.
10:00I wanted to wring his neck. I wanted to wring his neck.
10:03So did I.
10:03One thing I want to clear up.
10:04Shut up. I'm very straight for it.
10:06People are voting me off. Like, that hurts.
10:08She thinks she's going home because you guys are trying to sing her home.
10:16Life is all about drugs.
10:19Right.
10:21Welcome back to the Project Runway season 14 reunion special.
10:26So Swapnil, on the topic of you and me, and our ups and downs,
10:32I want you to know that you are a charming and affable guy,
10:37and you are a very talented designer.
10:41Yes.
10:42And the fact that I believed you were not working up to your full potential
10:48was the source of my frustrations with you.
10:52And how do you react to that?
10:54What are your thoughts about that?
10:56You know, from season one, and seeing the show, and of course seeing you,
11:01for me, you have been, like, up there.
11:03Like, I've always put you on a pedestal, and I always will.
11:07So your validation meant everything to me, even more than the judges.
11:13And then when that whole thing happened, it just broke my whole world.
11:18But here's what I want you to know, and what I need to assure you.
11:22I have never, ever, ever, ever questioned your talent.
11:26You are extremely talented.
11:27Yeah.
11:28What I didn't like was your work ethic.
11:33And what I did not know was that you came into this competition with a strategy.
11:40A very specific strategy.
11:42And I want all of us to take a look.
11:46Really?
11:47Uh-oh.
11:49I'm worried about Swapno.
11:50I can kind of see his energy changing, that he is so talented and just really needs to focus.
11:55You know what my strategy is.
11:57I always prepare myself and produce pieces that will keep me safe.
12:03I think I've been given around 60%, maybe 60 to 80%.
12:07I've not been aiming for the win, I've been aiming to be safe.
12:10You're ridiculous.
12:12Oh, I'm very ridiculous.
12:13I don't want to win, win, win, lose, lose, lose, out.
12:17I'd rather be safe, safe, safe, top, top, top, win, win, win, win, finale.
12:24Well, it just, it doesn't make sense in my head.
12:27If that's what you're saying you're going to do, then the judges are going to feel that.
12:32You're in a competition, compete.
12:34You have so much creativity, you're working at 40% capacity.
12:39Work at 150%.
12:41I'm really glad that Tim told Swapno that he's only working at like 40%.
12:45I think he needed to hear it and that people notice it.
12:48I think overconfidence is what led me astray, but I don't think I'm going to go home.
12:53I feel like Swapno wants to be here, but not as much as everyone else.
12:57And is it in any condition for Jen to even try on?
13:00Not really.
13:01You're the last critique of the session.
13:03So you've had more time to work than any other designer.
13:06And you're the only designer who's had nothing to put on their model.
13:10How does that make you feel?
13:12Precisely why I wanted to wait, because I didn't want to wait.
13:15What a bunch of bull .
13:17I'm tired of hearing it.
13:19I'm really just fed up.
13:21I mean, I just want to ask, what is the point?
13:27When it comes to Swapno, every single one of us,
13:30from the beginning knew how talented he was.
13:33Oh, absolutely.
13:33And when you said you didn't know why you were here,
13:36it was like, I wanted to wring his neck.
13:38I wanted to wring your neck.
13:39So did I.
13:40Because I know you know why you're here.
13:41Yeah.
13:42And you're really good at what you do, and I know that you know it.
13:45So the thing is, back home, everyone's been questioning why I'm here and what are you making.
13:50We don't understand it.
13:51This is not fashion.
13:52So I've always been questioning it myself.
13:55And then when you said it as well, it really made me question everything on the whole.
14:01As to, maybe I'm not even meant to be a designer.
14:04You could question a lot of things, but don't ever question that you shouldn't be a designer.
14:07Because that is not even a question.
14:09That is absolutely positively insane.
14:11I want you to take a lesson from Kelly's book.
14:14Yeah.
14:15And be positive.
14:17Yes.
14:17And move forward no matter what.
14:20Yeah.
14:20You need to have a tenacity that doesn't stop you.
14:24Yeah.
14:25And I will underscore my frustrations with this refrain that I used to use with my students.
14:31I'm going to use it with you.
14:32I can't want you to succeed more than you do.
14:36And if you've learned something from this experience that moves you forward,
14:40and that has made you feel stronger as a designer, then I could not be happier.
14:45It has.
14:46You have no idea how much it has.
14:48Wonderful.
14:48I also feel like you wouldn't have been so hard if you didn't believe so much into him.
14:53I wouldn't have wasted my time.
14:55Yeah, exactly.
14:55You're absolutely right.
14:55It would have said, well, carry on.
14:57Just do it.
14:57Whatever.
15:00All right.
15:01We're going to take a break, and then we'll be right back.
15:07Coming up on the Project Runway reunion special.
15:09I just don't appreciate being called that.
15:12Are you serious?
15:12The blogs were accusing you of being a racist.
15:15I don't know.
15:15Everybody had their own clique.
15:16Absolutely not.
15:17I'm sorry.
15:18Oh, snap.
15:25Welcome back to the Project Runway season 14 reunion special.
15:28Welcome to the designers who've just joined us.
15:31Now, you all have been in the designer's lounge watching this show.
15:36Oh, you all have been watching this?
15:37Yes.
15:37Yes.
15:38Indeed.
15:39So, what are your thoughts?
15:41I mean, it's awkward.
15:42It's having watched all of it back for all of us.
15:44Like, it's a fresh, interesting, awkward experience.
15:49That's an honest answer, and I appreciate it.
15:52It is.
15:52It's a little difficult.
15:54Yeah.
15:54Really?
15:55To say the least.
15:56A little difficult?
15:57Yeah.
15:57How so?
15:57I mean, just after watching all the episodes and, you know, through the magic of TV, obviously,
16:01through editing and everything else, it may not be the way that we perfectly lived it.
16:05I mean, us two, we were made out to look like I was trying to control her like crazy,
16:09and, I mean, we worked well together.
16:11Don't you agree?
16:12This is the reunion?
16:18I mean, clearly they put us together for a reason, girl.
16:21When we button bag these teams, there is no manipulation.
16:25It's really the luck of the draw.
16:27Yeah, I believe that.
16:28So, you maintain that in the edit of the show, it looks as though you and Merlene had conflicts?
16:31The way that the editing process took place, it looked like I was all design,
16:36and I was just making her to do what I wanted her to do.
16:39Of course, now I'm over-talking her, but...
16:41Look at her face.
16:42Well, I want to throw to the clip.
16:45Oh, here we go.
16:45Yes!
16:47Aren't you excited?
16:48I am, yes.
16:50It's not like you're real.
16:51Merlene's already starting to drive me crazy.
16:54You can dance all you want, you know, at the runway.
16:58But until that happens, girl, you ain't dancing, you ain't singing.
17:03I just did this to the back.
17:05No, it needs to go back to the way it was.
17:07You don't think it's gonna happen.
17:08No, no.
17:09You were uncharacteristically quiet.
17:11He put me on lockdown.
17:13She's on lockdown.
17:14That was true.
17:15Both of us can't wait for this to be done.
17:17It's hard.
17:18I just want to be me, and I can't be me.
17:20If this is the losing look today, who should go home?
17:24I mean, I'll be brutally honest with you.
17:26If one of us is gonna go home, it has to be Merlene.
17:28It's all exciting.
17:29It's the truth.
17:31Oh, my God.
17:34So, truth or editing?
17:37I think for me, looking back on the thing, I'm such a people-pleasing, and I just wanted
17:42not for us to have, like, any conflict.
17:45I didn't speak up.
17:46It was like, duh-duh-duh-duh, because I was just so afraid of, like, conflict.
17:49Does anyone else feel that they were not portrayed in an accurate way on the show?
17:54I don't think anything was edited to make it seem like it wasn't true.
17:59If anything, there were more things in the episode that were not shown that could give proof
18:04to the truth that was actually shown on television.
18:08Even in the respect of editing, where I haven't always been highlighted as the frickin' hero
18:15of the show, how far can the editing process really go?
18:19Like, when you're speaking to someone's name, and you follow with a comment, and then you follow
18:24with an action, and you give your opinion, how far can the editing really take it?
18:29My perception of the editing? The editing of the show is kind to everyone.
18:34It is. It is. It is. And I include myself in that.
18:37It's as unbiased as it can be.
18:39Yes. Let's move on.
18:40Blake, you were one of the more controversial designers on this season of the show,
18:46and specifically about words that you had to say about swap mill.
18:51The blogs and social media went crazy, including accusing you of being a racist.
18:57Guys, the machines, the three machines at the back with the pink tape are for heavy-duty materials.
19:04Did you set that up for us? Sorry?
19:06Did you set that up for us?
19:09Sorry? I don't know how to speak Indian, so I can't say it.
19:12I'm speaking in English. I'm not speaking in Indian.
19:15What did you say, Blake?
19:21I mean, obviously I'm very sarcastic, and obviously it was just a misunderstanding.
19:26I mean, at that point in time, it was a bit of a shock.
19:28I'm 33, I've traveled the world, never faced racism anywhere when people talk about it so much,
19:33and then this comment, and I was like, was it really racist?
19:36Yeah. No.
19:37And then we spoke that night itself, and I just realized he is who he is.
19:41Yeah, yeah.
19:41He's a sweet guy who doesn't, I mean, who doesn't know how to tell time, apparently.
19:46I have a question, which is, are you really as naive and innocent as you present yourself on the show,
19:54or are you just having fun with everyone?
19:56And before you answer, let's take a look.
19:59Oh, my God.
20:01Oh, .
20:03I want to know why we're at Madison Square Garden.
20:05I think there's sports that play there, like baseball or something.
20:08I don't know.
20:09That's what I was going to say.
20:10You, like, read my mind.
20:11It's like we have ESPN or something.
20:13ESPN.
20:14Six hours, right?
20:16Is that right?
20:16Good nine hours.
20:17We get till one.
20:18Wouldn't that be closer to this one, though?
20:21Blake apparently doesn't know how to tell time.
20:24Oh.
20:26The big hand is the minutes.
20:28Oh.
20:29My.
20:30God.
20:31See, this doesn't cover the caslapis.
20:33The caslapis is, like, what's happening down there with women.
20:35Like, what am I supposed to cover?
20:37Where?
20:38Because I need to put a strip.
20:39Where should it start?
20:40Blake still doesn't even know when the vagina begins and stops.
20:47I still can't.
20:48I still remember that conversation.
20:51Blake?
20:52Thoughts?
20:54I mean, the caslapis, I'm not obviously familiar with that.
20:57But are you as naive and innocent as this would lead everyone to believe?
21:02I don't know.
21:02It's just like an insecurity, I guess, of me.
21:05I don't think he's naive.
21:06Yeah.
21:07I mean, obviously, Candace is smart, so she's still honest.
21:10Blake is an endearing human being.
21:12He is.
21:12He is who he is, and there is a quality of naivety without question, but it's not a bad thing.
21:18Like, it's really endearing.
21:19I mean, he's a fabulous 17-year-old.
21:21Yeah.
21:23All right, designers, may we please address the paintball team challenge.
21:30Oh, snap.
21:31Oh, snap, Merlina.
21:32About to get real.
21:33Right?
21:34Oh, snap.
21:34Yeah.
21:35This was nothing shy of a disaster for the girls' team.
21:39Let's take a look.
21:42We should divide you up into teams.
21:44Candace, who do you choose?
21:47Miss Amanda.
21:51The girls are picking their friends.
21:53They're picking who do I like, who do I chat with.
21:55The girls were being girls.
21:57I have to say, you guys, I'm really shocked.
22:01Ashley has won two challenges, and she's the last one sitting there?
22:06You guys are nuts.
22:08We have to have something, because right now we have, like, all, we're all over it.
22:11Mm-hmm.
22:12I would like to be a leader in this challenge, but I feel like because I was chosen last,
22:19I don't feel welcome in this team.
22:21And they're all throwing you under the bed.
22:23Me?
22:23Oh, this really pisses me off, because I know I do not deserve to go home.
22:28Unfortunately, one of you is going to be out.
22:31Who should that be?
22:32I would say, maybe Ashley.
22:37I would say Ashley.
22:38I also have to say Ashley.
22:43This just seems like a bit of a bitch fest, and you're blaming one person rather than all of you.
22:49I don't get why you guys are breaking her down.
22:51Like, she's an amazing designer.
22:52Yes, she is.
22:53We all said that.
22:53Why is she crying?
22:54It's because you guys are mean girls.
23:01Well, that was a lot to relive.
23:04And before I ask any specific questions, is there anything that any of you would like to say?
23:09The whole, like, mean girl thing and, like, why I didn't choose Ashley, I just don't appreciate being called that,
23:15because that's, I'm the last thing from that.
23:17And I don't understand how we were the mean girls when the boys could have picked Ashley as well, and
23:22they didn't pick her either.
23:23Can I say something?
23:24Because us boys had discussed, if we ever had a group challenge, that it was going to be boys versus
23:29girls.
23:29We all, I mean, we lived together.
23:31We all talked about it.
23:32We all said if we ever have the opportunity, we should do it.
23:34I wasn't aware of the strategy.
23:35I wasn't doing this.
23:36You wasn't?
23:36No?
23:37Are you serious?
23:37Yes, you were.
23:38You were out smoking.
23:39You were smoking.
23:41There you go.
23:41Don't.
23:42Don't.
23:43Hey, you get one of these.
23:45It doesn't mean you're not part of the team.
23:47You just were taking a break.
23:49I don't know.
23:49Everybody had their own clicks.
23:50Like, I'm not going to lie.
23:51Everybody had their clicks.
23:52Like, whoever was paired up in the rooms, they clicked with each other.
23:55And I just really felt like no one really took the time to, like, get to know me besides Lori
24:03and some of the guys.
24:04Ashley.
24:05Absolutely not.
24:06I'm sorry.
24:07I mean, we had our conversations at night, but it was always you guys.
24:12Ashley, are you kidding?
24:12We'll get to the bottom of this when we return.
24:17Coming up on the Project Runway reunion special.
24:20Annis was attacking Ashley.
24:21We were asked to pick someone.
24:22We had to pick someone.
24:23What the hell do you want me to say to this?
24:25Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
24:31Welcome back to the Project Runway season 14 reunion special.
24:35Well, let's go back to the paintball team challenge.
24:41Lori, you mentioned that you heard the other members of the team, the other girls, say that they would throw
24:46Ashley under the bus.
24:48But that was not caught on camera.
24:50So when was that said?
24:55It wasn't actually, I didn't, I said that I feel that the other girls, I feel that the other girls
25:01are going to throw you under the bus.
25:02And this hat went on through them bitching about Ashley, supposedly their frustrations with Ashley.
25:10And I'm like, why is everybody mad at Ashley?
25:11Why is everybody blaming me?
25:13I'm talking.
25:14I'm talking.
25:16Why is everybody blaming Ashley?
25:18I'm talking to Ashley.
25:19So I got the idea that they're going to throw Ashley under the bus.
25:23And lo and behold, on the runway, they threw Ashley under the bus.
25:27I was the one that was asked first, who would you choose to go home?
25:30I didn't base it on the garment.
25:32I chose Ashley because at the beginning of the challenge, when we're all trying to work together as a team,
25:38we're all sitting there working together.
25:39Did you observe Ashley was the first person that walked off when we were all talking and trying to work
25:43together and started dying the fabric by herself?
25:46Because everybody's talking at the same time.
25:48We didn't work together as a team.
25:50But then she's going off on our own and we need to work together.
25:51Everybody wanted to do their own thing.
25:52I never went off on my own.
25:53Nobody wanted to work as a team, which was my frustration and Ashley's frustration as well.
25:59I give an opinion completely based on that particular style.
26:03None of us wanted to be mean to Ashley or have a bitch fest as it was called by Kelly
26:08Osborn.
26:08I think that we were all frustrated with the fact that Ashley was extremely emotional and that was the turning
26:19point.
26:20Yeah, I understand that.
26:20And I don't even know why that's even being pointed out.
26:24Like, everybody was so overwhelmed.
26:27Absolutely.
26:27Yeah, yeah, yeah.
26:28And I'm just the one that ended up crying because I was overwhelmed, so it's like, oh, okay.
26:32Well, I do.
26:34I agree.
26:35Lindsay?
26:35We were asked to pick someone.
26:37We had to pick someone.
26:38And for me, it was based on looks and it was for everybody else.
26:40But what gets me is like, we were in the workroom and I confirmed with everybody in the group before
26:45I started pleading this stuff.
26:47To say like, okay, is this going to go cohesive?
26:49Then everybody was like, yeah, yeah, I like it.
26:51And then to be in the bottom and then the judges asked them what's their least favorite look or whatever,
26:57to be chosen.
26:59Like, it just felt like everybody was being faked from.
27:01It's not faked.
27:02Hold on, hold on, hold on.
27:03In all of this discussion that we've had, Ashley's been kind of the center point of it.
27:10And yet, it was Blake who called out a moment that he saw from his opinion.
27:15Like, seeing what you guys were doing on the outside, it looked like you guys were attacking Ashley and making
27:20her cry and not giving her a fair point in what she wanted to be as a designer.
27:24Like, Kelly's not a mean girl.
27:26Like, Amanda's not a mean girl.
27:28Lindsay's not a mean girl.
27:29But the way I saw it, like, Candace was attacking Ashley.
27:33Like, that's what I saw.
27:34This is not what this competition is about, is bringing someone down.
27:37And I feel like that's what you guys were doing.
27:38And just...
27:39You mean me.
27:40What about you, Candace?
27:41You just said you guys.
27:42You mean me.
27:43Oh, okay.
27:44If you want to put the spotlight on you.
27:45No, you just did.
27:46Candace was bringing Ashley down.
27:47I mean, you guys work together.
27:48So I just don't understand.
27:49You guys did so good together.
27:50You guys won together.
27:51So why would you want to bring Ashley down?
27:53I don't get it.
27:53I don't believe that anyone intentionally meant to bring Ashley down or to hurt her feelings.
27:59Absolutely not.
27:59I'm sorry that you guys had to go through this.
28:02I'm sorry.
28:03Because this is not what I wanted.
28:04I just wanted to get along with you guys.
28:07And I wanted to work with you guys.
28:08You and I were...
28:09We were friends.
28:11I would never let someone sit there and say something that wasn't true about you.
28:17Yes.
28:17And you let Blake...
28:18No, I'm talking.
28:19You let Blake say that I was a mean person.
28:22And I wasn't mean to you that day.
28:24But then why would I have felt that you guys had...
28:27You had turned your back on me when we were in this challenge.
28:30I don't know why you felt like that.
28:31Because you were talking crap behind my back about how much I was crying.
28:34Like, I was crying because I was frustrated.
28:36But what hurt me the most is how you reacted to me after this challenge.
28:42You...
28:43Because you tried to make...
28:44You agreed with Blake saying I was a mean girl.
28:47Yes.
28:47All they asked was...
28:48What did I...
28:48How did I agree with him?
28:49Because I didn't defend what he was saying.
28:52You didn't say anything.
28:53That was his opinion.
28:54What the hell do you want me to say to this?
28:56That we were all frustrated that day.
28:57That we were all frustrated that day.
28:58You guys looked on television.
28:59This is what you guys said.
29:00Ashley, I am totally not lying.
29:02Ashley, when he said it was silent for five minutes.
29:04What would you want me to say?
29:05I'm sitting there and I'm hurt because people are voting me off.
29:08I don't know her.
29:09If somebody yelled at you and called you a bully and we were friends, I would be like,
29:12no, Ash.
29:13No, actually no.
29:14But can you think about the state that she's in at the time you guys just tried to vote
29:17What about the state that I'm in when everyone's calling me a mean girl?
29:20You want her to sit up and defend you for not being a mean girl, for what's being
29:24showed on television?
29:26Think about the state that she's in.
29:28What about the state that we're all in?
29:29Because you guys are trying to send her home.
29:31No, in fairness.
29:32Hold on.
29:32No, no, no, no.
29:32Fairness right now.
29:34No, in fairness to what Lori is saying.
29:35Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
29:36Can I just say this?
29:38Would anyone disagree with this statement from me?
29:41You were a very dysfunctional team.
29:44Yeah.
29:45A hundred percent.
29:46No one was pleased.
29:48We're going to take a break.
29:49And when we come back, we'll be joined by the rest of the season 14 designers.
29:53Time to go.
29:54Coming up on the Project Runway reunion special.
29:57Emotions had to come out.
29:58What do you think it is that brings out these extremes of emotion?
30:02We're putting our heart on a table.
30:04Hum, meow.
30:05What's going on between you and Blake?
30:07TMI.
30:13Welcome back.
30:14Now we have everyone here.
30:16Welcome, everyone.
30:17As we already know, some of you didn't work very well together, to put it mildly.
30:24And we have yet another case.
30:28Oh my God.
30:28That we haven't discussed.
30:29Uh-oh.
30:30Who are you talking about, Tami?
30:32I have no idea.
30:35Edmund, Han, meow.
30:36You two struggled working together.
30:38Let's take a look.
30:40My style is not this.
30:42But you drew this.
30:43Because it's your style.
30:45Because I don't like this kind of designs.
30:47Well, if you don't like it, you wouldn't make you think I like it.
30:49I am so sick of arguing.
30:52You have to talk to me.
30:53That's why it's a group challenge.
30:54You're in your head, but you're-
30:55I'm talking.
30:56You're kind of like doing like this though, but you're going back-
30:58Then you shut up.
30:59Ooh.
31:01Pow.
31:03If I had to be partnered with someone like Han Meow, I would have hurled myself out a window.
31:08I think you should change the color.
31:10Han Meow, Han Meow, Han Meow.
31:11It's so frustrating that I understand it's one look.
31:14He started pushing me to follow his direction, which I don't like.
31:19Can you turn?
31:20Sure.
31:20I'm tiny, but I still have my opinion.
31:23So the whole swimsuit, I'm in charge.
31:26Okay.
31:26Have you ever made a swimsuit before?
31:28No.
31:28I'll tell you what.
31:29Just make the whole thing.
31:30I'll make the dress, and you defend it on the runway.
31:32How about that?
31:33This is kind of weird.
31:36Edmund did another whole swimsuit.
31:39What he's doing?
31:42I feel so disrespected.
31:45I feel disappointed.
31:47How did the two of you work together?
31:49Not so well.
31:50We have totally different style.
31:52We have different opinion.
31:53Edmund, you're rolling your eyes.
31:55I don't support this at all.
31:57What's happening with this bathing suit?
31:59That's crazy town.
32:03There clearly was a communication issue here.
32:06What was it?
32:07Edmund?
32:08One thing I want to clear up.
32:09When I created the second bathing suit look, it was only because the second time being told
32:15to shut up, I was like, okay, I'm just going to just back off and let her do her thing.
32:19I wasn't aware of how far along she had come, and even if we would have a look to present
32:24on the runway.
32:25I'm deducing from what you're saying, the communication issue was no communication.
32:29I think there was somewhat of a dial tone, but no one was picking up saying hello.
32:33Maybe on at the end there.
32:34Well, that sounds like no communication.
32:36Han Miao, what was the issue from your point of view?
32:38Both of I have a very strong personality.
32:42I am a person I need the time to think about to make a decision and keep going.
32:47I'm very straightforward and sorry, Edmund.
32:50I make you, you know, feel upset.
32:53And I say twice, shut up.
32:55But it doesn't mean I'm rude or something.
32:58I think it's a very no-filtered way to react.
33:04You know what I mean?
33:05Han Miao, the judge has sent you home on this challenge.
33:08Do you think you should have gone home?
33:11I think I deserve it, because we are the only group that didn't work as a team.
33:16So I think it's fair.
33:18There was no shortage of tears this season, and it seems that everyone had his or her breaking point.
33:24Let's take a look.
33:25Amanda, what's the matter?
33:27It's not my day.
33:29And no more tears.
33:31No tears.
33:31You're stronger than this.
33:32There's one opportunity that I have to do plus size, and I wanted to do that, and I just really,
33:37really felt the pressure.
33:38I'm so disappointed over myself.
33:41No, no, no.
33:41I saw you.
33:42No.
33:43No, David.
33:44No.
33:46No.
33:53Just not proud of my work, and that's a bad feeling to have.
33:59It's so emotional right now, you know?
34:01It's like big ideas, big ideas.
34:06I need to be there for him.
34:10I'm so done with this.
34:16What do you think it is about Project Runway that brings out these extremes of emotion?
34:22I just feel all creative people are emotional people.
34:25Yes.
34:26And all of us are so creative.
34:28Emotions had to come out.
34:29And we love what we do.
34:30It's like we're putting our heart on a table.
34:33We're fighting for it.
34:33Every competition.
34:34Yeah.
34:34And so it's like we believe it, and so if we didn't really care, I don't think we would cry
34:38that much.
34:39I would just like to say, because obviously I did cry a lot this season, it was out of frustration
34:43and passion.
34:44My job was to make amazing fashion that was going to wow the judges.
34:48And because they didn't feel that way is why I personally cried as much as I did.
34:52Han Miao, what's going on between you and Blake?
34:55We're trying to get drunk.
34:56Yeah.
34:57I mean, I got to the arm seat.
34:58It looks like you already are drunk and the two of you need to get a room.
35:03Remember, he doesn't know where the caslapas is.
35:05That's true.
35:06Nothing's going to change that.
35:08All right, moving on, everyone.
35:11Do you all have a favorite look that you made or that someone else made this season?
35:16I mean, I love the Mary Kay makeup challenge.
35:18Oh, I bet.
35:19That was really pretty dress.
35:20I loved that dress.
35:21I thought it was very cool.
35:23I was obsessed.
35:24Very cool.
35:24So, you're talking about whose dress?
35:26Your own dress.
35:27Wait, of course he's talking about his own Tim.
35:28Of course.
35:29Why should I think anything else?
35:31Anyone else?
35:32David?
35:33Ashley, first look, first challenge.
35:35That was beautiful.
35:37Girl, we were all like, welcome to the competition.
35:41Yeah, that was beautiful.
35:42It was so chic and it was like, beautiful.
35:46Lindsay, how about you?
35:47David's first look was stunning, too.
35:51I mean, it was like, it set a tone in the room.
35:54Yeah.
35:55David's first look, Laurie's Mary Kay look was sick.
35:59It was absolutely beautiful.
36:01And then sorry to be like a little bit pretentious, but like, I love my Heidi Clements look.
36:05I'm never going to get over it.
36:06I don't even really wear lingerie.
36:08Not like the way that you don't wear lingerie, but like the way I don't wear lingerie.
36:12TMI.
36:13My favorite was Duncan's actually.
36:15Really?
36:16The first challenge?
36:16I thought it was beautiful.
36:17Almost everyone's favorite was Duncan's that challenge.
36:20I want to ask Duncan how it felt to be the first designer eliminated, especially because so many of the
36:27designers and I really loved your look.
36:30I mean, it wasn't great.
36:32I thought it was good.
36:33Oh, I thought, no, I mean leaving.
36:35Oh, that.
36:36Yes.
36:38I haven't really dwelt on it.
36:40I did it.
36:40I still buy it.
36:41They didn't like it.
36:42I learned something.
36:43I made a great group of friends.
36:44I'm going to see these guys and talk to them for the next, how many years?
36:48Wonderful.
36:48I'm not going to talk to Zach and Nina probably.
36:51No, it's great.
36:52I've flown to New York.
