00:05I'm just inspired by Laurence.
00:07Congratulations!
00:08How do you feel, though?
00:09Fantastic.
00:10Another one in the bag.
00:11I mean, it's cool.
00:14It was a hot mess, being in the bottom.
00:17Did you like it?
00:17Hell no.
00:18I'll never go through that again.
00:20Like, I did not like that.
00:22Last week was a mishap.
00:24I'm hoping to redeem myself.
00:26I think we should go and see what this is going to be about today.
00:32Hi.
00:33Hello.
00:34Hello.
00:35You all know this dashing gentleman next to me, everyone's favorite hair and beauty expert,
00:41Sally Beauty's Gregory Patterson.
00:43Hi, designers.
00:44Hi.
00:45Designers Gregory and his team at Sally Beauty have arranged for a Project Runway first.
00:51Designers, we give you the Project Runway and Sally Beauty pop-up color shop.
01:00Designers, you will each be showing your looks to the public in our first ever pop-up shop.
01:06Oh, wow.
01:07That's awesome.
01:07Designers, the pop-up shop is in the trendiest, most popular shopping neighborhood in New York City,
01:14Soho.
01:15Yes.
01:16Designers, for this challenge, you will be working in three teams of three.
01:21The last team challenge, I flopped, so it's time for redemption.
01:26Each team will be working with an assigned Sally Beauty color palette.
01:30Your looks will be inspired by your color palette.
01:33Our first team will be working with Red Violet.
01:36And our first team member is...
01:39Aaron.
01:40And next we have...
01:43Dexter.
01:44Yes!
01:46Next we have...
01:48Cornelius.
01:49I knew it.
01:50I most definitely feel like I am an outsider because they are best friends.
01:54I just think that they might be really hard to work with.
01:58So the team working with New Neutral will begin with...
02:02Jenny.
02:04Yay!
02:05I love neutrals.
02:06I'm wearing one right now.
02:08And the next team member is Natalia.
02:11Oh, hey!
02:12I'm actually really happy that I get to work with Jenny.
02:15Make some magic happen.
02:17But it's not my favorite kind of challenge because you kind of have to, like, conform to other people.
02:23And the next team member is...
02:25Majin.
02:26Yay!
02:28What kind of response is that?
02:31I'm excited.
02:32I am.
02:32I like nude.
02:34Surprise, surprise.
02:36Welcome to our best friend in the competition.
02:39Once again, I am the outsider in a team challenge.
02:44Yay!
02:45And our Hues of Blue team consists of Roberry, Rick, and Laurence.
02:51Yay!
02:52I feel that all three of us are part of the strongest competitors at this competition.
02:55So I'm extremely excited and happy with the teammates that I got.
02:59Each team will be creating a cohesive three-look collection.
03:04You will have a budget of $600.
03:07Ooh!
03:07Tomorrow, you will be presenting your collection in the pop-up shop.
03:12All right, designers.
03:13Each team will have 30 minutes to sketch.
03:17So, head up to the workroom.
03:19Good luck, designers.
03:25Yo!
03:27Yes!
03:29Well, I always think about denim.
03:30So I was thinking about denim.
03:31You know those punk jackets that are painted in, like the real ones, but you paint the edges
03:35of all the pockets, like the one I have?
03:37Mm-hmm.
03:37I'm thinking that because we have this red and pink thing, I think it'd be really cool
03:40to do a nod to punk.
03:42You should do a jacket dress.
03:43I think that makes the most sense.
03:45I almost want to do an oversized coat for mine.
03:47We should hardcore stick to that theme of color.
03:49Oh, definitely.
03:50Currently, Aaron and I are leading the charge.
03:52Cornelius isn't totally into it.
03:54You know, I mean, I have like a low level of trust for most people anyway, so I'm still
03:57like...
03:57I want to play with different texture and maybe play with something geometric in the
04:04front of this piece.
04:05I want to win every challenge so bad.
04:09I am trying to create feelings instead of trying to create a sleeve.
04:15I think it's more important as a designer.
04:17I want to do like a zip-up jacket fitted with a skirt long past the knee.
04:23Maybe we can do like a heavily pleated skirt with a little bomber.
04:26That's cute.
04:27This is what I would have in mind to make it like a long jacket.
04:31I think it will make sense.
04:32Yeah.
04:33Design teams, let's head off the mood.
04:36Follow me, everyone.
04:39All right, design teams, your time begins now.
04:45I feel like the orange is more...
04:47Pops.
04:48Yeah.
04:48How pretty that is with the camel.
04:49That kind of works.
04:52Oh, I love this.
04:53I want to do that.
04:55This will look like Elmo.
04:58Let's go to...
04:59With the trick.
05:00Design teams, you have five minutes.
05:02Five minutes remaining.
05:04Behind you.
05:06Where's the linen?
05:07Where's the linen?
05:08Where's the linen?
05:08Where's the linen?
05:13All right, designers.
05:14Time is up.
05:16Good luck, guys.
05:17Thank you very much.
05:18Thank you, Mood.
05:20Thank you, Mood.
05:20Thank you, Mood.
05:21Woo!
05:25What did we even get?
05:27I don't even know.
05:28Design teams, I want you to know that you have until 11.30 tonight.
05:31You will have your Sally Beauty consultations with Gregory later today.
05:36Okay.
05:36Okay?
05:37It's very exciting.
05:38And please take advantage of the Brother sewing room.
05:41Okay, I'll see you later.
05:42Bye.
05:42Bye.
05:42Okay.
05:48So I'll make a piece of denim that goes about that far out.
05:50Yeah.
05:50But it'll be a line there, too.
05:52Yeah.
05:52So I think it'll be cute.
05:53I think so.
05:53I'm working on a drop, shoulder, rock and roll vest and skirt.
05:58I want the collar and the lapel to be red.
06:01I like that.
06:02I'm making an oversized classic motorcycle jacket.
06:04Corey, what are you patterning right now?
06:06My jacket.
06:07I'm working on a plaid jacket with a skirt to go with it.
06:12And I'm gonna mix the plaids and turn them different ways so they're still matching, but yet it doesn't look
06:17so boring.
06:22Should I do a thin line here next to it?
06:24Let me envision it.
06:26Jenny.
06:26Yes, girl?
06:27Come away here.
06:28Okay, one second.
06:30I'm frustrated at this point.
06:32I found myself working by myself and the Jillian and Natalia are constantly having small little meetings together.
06:38You know how we got that beautiful extra wool?
06:41Yeah.
06:42How about I line my jacket with it and then it'll be reversible?
06:46Yeah.
06:46We are doing what we want to do, so like we're just telling Manjing, like, you know, do whatever you
06:52want.
06:52So we're all just kind of working separately.
06:54You want to ask Manjing, too, so he doesn't think we're having a secret meeting?
06:57Oh.
07:01They're making it seem like I don't know what I'm doing.
07:03If I didn't know what I was doing, I damn sure wouldn't have been here.
07:06Now, come on, y'all.
07:07I just think it's disrespectful.
07:14Hi.
07:15Hi, team.
07:15We're kind of in this, like, rock and roll meets military a bit.
07:19Okay, so maybe we could do a spray, almost to create, like, really cool graphic in the hair.
07:25So there would be a band of red color.
07:27Here.
07:28Yeah.
07:29Team Red Violet.
07:29Good luck.
07:31We got you.
07:33We were thinking maybe some kind of a braid.
07:35So we could definitely do the multi-color in a sophisticated, super trendy, really cool braid.
07:42We're Sally Beauty.
07:42We'll always make it beautiful.
07:44Yeah.
07:44We got you.
07:45You never know.
07:46You never know.
07:49I think she wants to be trendy but still professional.
07:52What if we take something that would be natural and kind of smudge her roots, add some depth, and do
07:59that cool little mod, beautiful thing that she has happening?
08:02Yeah.
08:03Yes.
08:04We'll see you at the pop-up shop.
08:05Good.
08:06The pop-up shop.
08:17Oh, hey, Erin.
08:22It looks so good.
08:24Do you think we're doing too much red here?
08:27I'm looking at the collection, and it's just screaming very red.
08:32It needs to be broken up.
08:33If you have red on red on red, you need to, like, tone it down a little bit.
08:36Honestly, I'm feeling, like, really good about it.
08:38I am too.
08:39Cornelius is just a little ball of stress, so any time any tiny thing happens, he kind of freaks out.
08:43I'm so tired.
08:44I'm just like, ugh.
08:45I'm not feeling the same amount of worry from our collection, and neither is Erin.
09:00Ow.
09:00Freaky.
09:01Cory, watch out for the door.
09:07Okay.
09:09Good morning, designers.
09:10Good morning, Tim.
09:12Can't wait to check in with all of you.
09:13Let's get started.
09:17How's Team Hues of Blue?
09:19We are good.
09:20Fantastic.
09:21Talk to me.
09:21I'm all yours.
09:22We took the feeling of the blue color as an inspiration to create this rebel.
09:28She's not afraid to represent herself as a very strange person.
09:34Yeah?
09:35Strange?
09:36Yeah.
09:37She's going to pop from the crowd because she's different.
09:41I'd stick with the adjective different.
09:43Okay.
09:43Different.
09:44Okay, yeah.
09:44So, did you each work on a look?
09:47Yes.
09:47We did.
09:48It's a little bit hard to hear him saying that the collection is not very strong.
09:53But if he wants you to push forward, he trusts that you can go an extra mile.
09:59So, always listen to Tim.
10:01Thank you all.
10:02Thank you, Tim.
10:03I just don't want to send things down the runway that aren't, like, so red.
10:07I don't want to talk about it.
10:08No, Tim.
10:08Team Red Violet.
10:10Hey, Tim.
10:11As a team, how are you feeling about things?
10:16Good.
10:17Feeling good.
10:18Yeah.
10:18Really?
10:21Cornelius, you want to start?
10:22So, it was, like, the nod to Punk, but not too much.
10:25And I tried to keep her a little bit classy, but also keep her young.
10:27The jacket looks magnificent.
10:29Okay, thank you.
10:30Dexter, so this is a vest.
10:32It's a bit of a dress vest.
10:34So, there's a top under this?
10:35Maybe not, but, um, it is, like, a bad girl vibe.
10:38So, like, I'm not afraid to take a risk in having that go.
10:41Okay.
10:42Erin.
10:43So, this is, like, our, like, kind of, like, redesigned motorcycle jacket.
10:46The coat's walking along.
10:47We want to do, like, just, like, a nice little mock neck turtlenecks.
10:50And the coat would be closed?
10:51No, we wanted to put a bottom on it.
10:53Oh, what?
10:54That's what we're trying to figure out.
10:55Have you talked about mixing this up?
10:59I was thinking it.
11:00Talk to me.
11:01I mean, we can move my skirt to her jacket and then create something else to go with this outfit.
11:08I think that that's actually a really good idea.
11:11Whoa.
11:11I'm not afraid of mixing patterns.
11:12I'm not either.
11:13Me neither.
11:14I think it's smashing.
11:15Awesome.
11:16It's not often that I stand in here and I have chills.
11:19I think I just got them, too.
11:20All right.
11:21I'm going to let you get back to work.
11:22Awesome.
11:22Carry on.
11:23Thank you so much.
11:24Thanks, Tim.
11:25Oh, my God.
11:25I feel a weird need to hug you and I know you don't like touching people, but oh, yes.
11:30Good, good, good, good, good.
11:34Why do you all look like I'm coming here to deliver a death sentence?
11:37Oh, no.
11:39I don't feel good this morning.
11:41Physically?
11:41Yeah, we're kind of just all in a slump this morning.
11:43Why?
11:43I'm not in a slump.
11:45I'm just interested in hearing what you think and get opinions.
11:49Well, I want to hear what you all think.
11:51We're using the inspiration of the colors for the Sally Beauty new neutral hues and we
11:56wanted to create looks that would complement the hair but also stand good by themselves,
12:00keeping it sleek and clean look.
12:03Natalia, can you talk about this coat?
12:04I was thinking what would this Soho woman want to wear in the fall?
12:08And I was thinking like a long jacket.
12:10Can you open the coat just so I can see what's underneath?
12:14You've each compromised and lost yourselves.
12:17And I'm just saying, buh, I'm a little nervous.
12:22I'm in a team with two individuals who are friends.
12:24If we don't pull this together, they're going to throw me underneath the bus.
12:27Something needs to happen.
12:29This is just not enough.
12:33Design teams, your models are coming in at 1.30.
12:37You will have two hours to send them to the Mary Kay Color and Design Studio.
12:42And the Sally Beauty Studio.
12:45And then we are going to the pop-up shop.
12:48All right?
12:48Use the Just Fab accessories wall very thoughtfully, of course.
12:53Thank you all.
12:54Thanks, Tim.
12:54Thanks, Tim.
12:58I'm struggling right now.
13:00I'm so over this.
13:02Cornelius is freaking out trying to pleat pleats.
13:05While Aaron and Dexter are just kind of like living the life.
13:13Correa has been so cool and he's so on it.
13:15And he's so clean.
13:16Mm-hmm.
13:20Hello.
13:23Hi.
13:24Good to see you.
13:25I'm excited, especially with the pop-up.
13:27I know.
13:27Should be very interesting.
13:29Before the pop-up shop, we have lots of little things to do.
13:31Some hems, last-minute detailing just to make it look very polished and elevated.
13:36They're cute.
13:37Oh, yeah.
13:38Those look really good on her look.
13:39Yeah.
13:40There we go.
13:41Awesome.
13:42Dope.
13:42For the most part, things are fitting pretty good.
13:44I'm, like, feeling really positive about this collection.
13:47Yeah.
13:47It looks amazing.
13:48So sick.
13:49It's good.
13:50Oh, that looks cool.
13:51I like this.
13:51It looks so good.
13:54It's too expensive.
13:59Hi, Red Violet.
14:00What we're gonna do with the powerless hair, instead of doing wrapping fabric, just do,
14:02like, a cool thing with the hair.
14:04Can we wrap a pop color there?
14:06Yeah.
14:06Yeah, absolutely.
14:09For the braid, it would just be two braids and then the little chin on the back.
14:12Do you want just a little tiny stripe of blue?
14:15Yeah.
14:18We just want another two tracks with gray on her.
14:20Okay.
14:21And two tracks of the auburn.
14:22We definitely want a little more volume.
14:24It looks good, though.
14:25We're excited.
14:31I was thinking very shimmering.
14:34We have this illuminating stick so that it's just a bright eye.
14:37What about the lip?
14:39I had this tangerine.
14:40Oh, that's beautiful.
14:42Let's just do a new lip.
14:43This gel matte lipstick is the color of her skin, almost.
14:47I think on her, we just wanted to work with her skin tone.
14:50Got it.
14:52How are you feeling about this wild brow concept?
14:54I love it.
14:55Girl, those lashes are so on point.
14:56I love the lip color, too.
14:58It's not, like, too, too dark.
15:04Yeah.
15:05Yeah, the girls look good.
15:06I'm very proud of this.
15:07All right, designers and models, let's head out to our first ever Project Runway Sally Beauty
15:13pop-up shop.
15:15Yay!
15:16At this point, I really feel like it's anybody's game.
15:18Follow me.
15:19Like we say in France, actually, all the teams right now are kif-kif.
15:23Let's go, everyone.
15:39How exciting is this?
15:40Yeah, very exciting.
15:42All right.
15:42Designers, each team will present their three-look collection, and the people on the streets
15:46of SoHo will each be given a button to vote for their favorite.
15:49The votes count for 20% of the final judging.
15:53My team, we could really use it.
15:55Do you have buttons?
15:55Yeah.
15:56Oh, good.
15:56Excellent.
15:57Look at all three collections and go with your viscera.
16:00Are you voting?
16:02Yes.
16:02I'm voting.
16:02Is your votes important?
16:04Hey, Teddy.
16:05Have you looked at everything?
16:06Briefly.
16:07But so far, I like the blue one.
16:09Yay!
16:09Yay!
16:10I chose this one right here.
16:12Woo!
16:13It seems very modern, but also very vintage at the same time.
16:19I love that red jacket.
16:21I think it's so fun, and it adds such a fun pop of color, and it reminds me a lot
16:26of Chanel.
16:26It's really classic.
16:27This is a clear winner for me.
16:29I just like the color, the proportions, the way they're separate.
16:32It was constructed really well.
16:34I like the lines on pink blue.
16:36I think they're clean.
16:36I love that jacket.
16:37I love the little t-shirts, actually, underneath it.
16:40Love it, love it.
16:41I voted for the blue team, especially, like, the coat.
16:45When she turned, I was like, ooh, that's it.
16:51I mean, let's be honest.
16:52Neutral and blue are a lot easier than bright red.
16:56Yay!
16:58Just remember all this tomorrow during the judging.
17:01Okay.
17:02Remember how much the public at large responded positively to you.
17:05I'm gonna send you back to the apartments to get some sleep, and I will see you all tomorrow
17:09on the runway.
17:10Thank you, Tim.
17:11Thank you, Tim.
17:12Thank you, Tim.
17:12Congratulations, really.
17:13That was phenomenal.
17:14I'd like to do it for every challenge.
17:16I'm right?
17:16Yeah.
17:17Let's have a pop-up job.
17:23Hello.
17:24Hi.
17:25Hi.
17:26Hi.
17:26Welcome to the runway.
17:27As you know, in fashion, one day you're in, and the next day you're out.
17:32This was the Sally Beauty Challenge.
17:34For this challenge, you were divided into teams of three, and you were to use your color palette
17:39as the basis for a three-look fall collection.
17:42Also, your looks were displayed in a Soho storefront.
17:46And what did you think of that?
17:47It was so amazing.
17:48It was really fun.
17:49It was really fun.
17:50Cooler than I expected.
17:51Do you want to know who was their favorite look?
17:54Yes.
17:54Yes.
17:55She's not going to tell us.
17:57You can't tell us, huh?
17:58Tell us.
17:59All right.
17:59The public chose...
18:04Team Neutrals.
18:06Congratulations.
18:11How do you feel about that?
18:13That's pretty great.
18:14That's amazing.
18:15Congratulations to you guys again.
18:16And each of you will get $500 for Sally Beauty Products.
18:20Seriously?
18:21Yes, seriously.
18:23I can use that for my curly fro.
18:26Also, the public vote counts for 20% of today's judging.
18:30So you are starting out in the lead.
18:32All right.
18:33Let's say hello to our judges.
18:34First, we have Creative Director of Brooks Brothers Women and Fashion Designer, Zach Posen.
18:39Hello, designers.
18:41Creative Director for Mericlera Magazine, Nina Garcia.
18:44Hi, everyone.
18:45Hello, Nina.
18:46And today's guest judge, Kelly Osborne.
18:48Hi.
18:49She's fashion designer, judge on Project Runway Junior, and author of a new book.
18:54And what is the name again of this book?
18:57There is no secret.
19:00And also, we have Tim Gunn here for The Runway Show.
19:02Hi, Tim.
19:03Hi.
19:03As you know, Tim is your mentor and will not be judging your looks.
19:06That said, he has a Tim Gunn save.
19:09If at some point during the competition he disagrees with the judges, he can bring that eliminated
19:13designer back to the competition.
19:15All right.
19:16Let's start the show.
19:25I feel really good about the collection.
19:27I try my best to match up my plaids as best as possible with the time constraint that I
19:31had on top of trying to help out everybody else.
19:33I love it.
19:44I'm so excited to see our collection on the runway.
19:47It's heavy on the red, but like, that's just like a design aesthetic.
19:50And I think that we really, really hit the nail on the head.
20:06I'm super psyched about my jacket.
20:08I think the pockets came out really cool.
20:10I love our collection.
20:11I love what we did.
20:12There is all of our aesthetics in there, and I think that they go together pretty well.
20:17We slayed this.
20:28You can tell that I am an outerwear designer.
20:32The two jackets that I made look really beautiful, and the pants that I made look really beautiful.
20:38I'm just really proud of us.
20:48I really love the popcorn top.
20:52I feel like the sweater is adding a pretty cool pop.
20:56It looks really great with the pants that Natalia made.
21:06I'm really feeling like we really captured the Soho woman.
21:09I think the art collection is sexy, it's chic, it has sophistication to it, it has that edge.
21:15I'm super proud of us.
21:29I feel very confident about our looks.
21:32I think they look very well done.
21:35I think it's cohesive and current and relevant.
21:39And I think that's very important.
21:48I'm really loving the way it looks.
21:50It's very Chanel, punk.
21:51The slip dress that I created underneath, it looks great.
21:57I think we definitely amped it up, and the girls look very hot.
22:06I'm impressed that we were able to create three looks that were completely us.
22:14Nina's gonna want that.
22:15It just flows together, and I love it.
22:30One member of the winning team will be the winner of this challenge, and one member of the losing team
22:35will be out.
22:36Team Neutral, the public liked your collection the best, and we also liked it too.
22:43But all of the judges favored one collection more.
22:48And that was the blue team.
22:50How are you feeling about that?
22:52Great.
22:55Team Red, unfortunately that means you are the losing team.
22:59Team Neutral, you're safe, you can leave the runway.
23:02Great job.
23:08Oh, my God.
23:09Oh, my God.
23:10We still got $500.
23:12Yeah, it's dope.
23:13And they said they liked it.
23:14I'm really proud of us.
23:15Well, it really spoke to the new neutrals.
23:16Yeah.
23:17I know what's weird for me saying this, but I'm a little nervous for Cornelius.
23:21As much as I got a lot of love for Aaron and Dexter, it's just like...
23:24They're gonna throw him under the bus.
23:25Damn.
23:27Team Red, tell us about your collection, and please tell us who did what.
23:31So, we wanted to kind of do, like, Venata Punk.
23:34I worked on the piece in the middle.
23:35I just kind of wanted to use some of my favorite things about, like, my rock vest and a pocketed
23:40epaulette instead of an actual epaulette.
23:42And I wanted to go with a new silhouette that wasn't so, like, normal and basic so that it was
23:46a little bit different.
23:47I think we all worked on the pleated skirt together as a group.
23:51We did an elevated eyebrow with a double slash, different hues of red going throughout the hair.
23:55We thought that that would tie it together.
23:56I created the jacket right here, and I wanted to play with lines so it's not just the basic plaid.
24:03And then I also created the skirt in the third look.
24:06And then I did the jacket with Shrika in the top.
24:09Just wanted to play on, like, with the motorcycle jacket.
24:10I do think you guys did a great job, but we have to compare you to the other two teams
24:15that I just think that you guys were the weakest.
24:18I believe it's because it's red from head to toe.
24:22Maybe in one look it would work, but on three it just becomes an overload.
24:27I love the jacket. It looks very polished.
24:30The middle dress, just the fabrication to the style, falls flat.
24:36The skirt, there's some sewing problems on it.
24:39It's a challenge in one day to do an engineered pleated skirt.
24:43The plaid in the jacket to the skirt didn't help tie it. It didn't transport me.
24:48So since you are the losing team, one of you is going home tonight.
24:52Dexter, who out of your team do you think should go home today?
24:57Oh, man. I'm sorry.
25:02I'm going to have to say Cornelius. I'm sorry, Cornelius.
25:05I'm in the middle of two friends, so let's bring it on.
25:08Why?
25:09Just design aesthetic-wise, I just don't feel like our stuff goes together.
25:12And I feel like it was harder for me to get him into a different space than his normal space.
25:17Oh. Hmm. Okay.
25:21Cornelius, how do you feel about that?
25:23I think it's like a stab in the back, but it is what it is.
25:27I was going in the opposite direction.
25:29Let's kind of tone it down a little bit. It is a little bit too red.
25:33I mean, I tried to give... I did give options, but I'm not here to throw anybody under the bus.
25:37I'm just here to say that I was a mediator and tried to bring the cohesion into it,
25:41but yet people were like, no, no, no. So I just started to say, yes, yes, yes.
25:46And then create my garments and then also help create others' garments.
25:51Cornelius, in your eyes, who should go home today?
25:53Based off of like, you know, like the styling and stuff, I'm going to have to say Dexter,
25:58because it did become a lot red with the handbag and then the socks and...
26:02I get it. Okay.
26:03I'm just, you are the one.
26:07Erin, who do you think should go home today?
26:09It's like me and Dexter do work really well with each other,
26:11so I would have to, I would have to choose Cornelius.
26:14And that is because you like Dexter more as a friend?
26:16No, not even, it's not even more of a friend.
26:18I think that Dexter and I definitely like to go hard.
26:21Our aesthetics are just stronger together.
26:24But did you give Cornelius a chance to even...
26:27We were talking a lot. Like, it just sucks that we had to be put in this position to say
26:31that anyone should go home.
26:32So you can rephrase it. Which look do you think is the weakest up here?
26:36Honestly, the pleated skirt is my least favorite one.
26:39It was...
26:40And who conceived that?
26:41What?
26:42Erin conceived the pleated skirt. She's like, oh, I would like a pleat. Let's do a pleat on a skirt.
26:47I'm going to just tell the truth now.
26:48No, you should.
26:49Yeah.
26:49No, I mean, I said we should do a pleated skirt, but it was designed all together.
26:53So...
26:54I'm not just going to sit here and let you guys bash me.
26:55No, but I don't...
26:56Because it wasn't...
26:57It's just that skirt, that pleated skirt. Who wants something long in the front and short in the back?
27:01Like, that to me is an eyesore. By moving your skirt over to Erin's look, it kind of put your
27:08look into jeopardy.
27:09Because clearly here we have Erin's look, here we have Dexter's look, and this is your look.
27:15So I have a question for Erin and Dexter. You both say that Cornelius should go home, but is he
27:22really responsible for the failure of this collection?
27:25What you guys are saying is our biggest issue is that we didn't get another color in a way that's
27:29really all of our faults, because no one got anything other than red at Mood.
27:33It was almost there.
27:34To me, the winning piece here is the jacket.
27:37Yeah, of course.
27:37And nothing else really feels redeeming to me.
27:41Cornelius, do you have anything more?
27:43I'm not saying anything else. I'm done.
27:46But your butt's on the line here.
27:47You're on the line.
27:49At the end of the day, everybody knows that I worked my butt off.
27:52I feel like I carried a lot of load on me while everybody, you know, was like sitting down, you
27:56know, having a good time, talking and stuff.
27:59And I know that I worked my butt off, so.
28:01Thank you, Team Red.
28:03Okay, now we're talking to the winning team.
28:06Team Blue, tell us about your collection and who created what.
28:09We wanted to take this notion of the emotional part of the blue color, but trying to make it rebellious
28:17and very detailed.
28:18I made the first look, the sweater, the skirt, part wool, part leather, fused with wool, geometric shapes in the
28:27front.
28:28So I've designed the last look.
28:30We agreed on colors before we went to Mood, and we decided to use the white to break up the
28:35blue color.
28:35We also agreed on the woman we were going to design for, sophisticated with an edge.
28:40I created an inspired Chanel smoking look.
28:44So I did the pants and the shirt and the jacket.
28:46I created the middle look.
28:48I found this gorgeous wool Czech tartan that was double-faced with the blue on the inside, dark, dark navy.
28:53And then I created the dress underneath as well, with the leather, the silk linen sateen underneath,
28:59and then the linen tee on top with a little bit of a chiffon silk as well trim.
29:03We all RO'd and played with our own aesthetics, just transferring everything into one cohesive collection.
29:08I don't know which look I love the most because I love them all.
29:13I think you did a fantastic job.
29:15I love the plaid, the leather, the patches on the sweater.
29:19I love to see the t-shirt underneath.
29:21I love the skirt, the leather, and the plaid mix.
29:24I love that it's not a regular hemline.
29:26I mean, literally, there's nothing here where I would say, I wish you would have, coulda, shoulda.
29:31I love it just the way it is.
29:33Wow.
29:35In contrast with the red group, you used white and black and other colors to make that blue pop.
29:44And it popped perfectly.
29:46It feels in three pieces like a collection.
29:50I could get that jacket with that skirt.
29:52I could have that sweater with that pant.
29:55And it would all work.
29:57So it's a collection.
29:58And that was very gratifying.
30:01I love, in the first look, the structure and texture combined with comfort.
30:06But still, you know, I would wear that down a red carpet.
30:09The way that the dress has got such a simplicity that is so elegant and effortless
30:14with this incredible jacket over it.
30:16I'm obsessed with the tuxedo jacket.
30:19I just wish the tails were just a little bit longer.
30:22I'm literally just nitpicking because I love every single thing that you've done.
30:26And I'm kind of a bit mind blown.
30:29Who should be the winner on your team?
30:31I would probably say myself, just because, you know, I love my coat.
30:35I love what I made.
30:36But in the end, it's, you know, up to the judges which outfit you like best.
30:40Well, I don't want to pick myself, so I'm going to pick, uh, Mr. O'Berry over here,
30:43because he worked crazy and made some magic, so I give it to him.
30:47Merci.
30:48O'Berry, who do you think should be the winner on your team?
30:51I would love to all three be the winners because we work very well together
30:55and have so much fun.
30:57And that said, I will choose Rick because nobody selects him,
31:01and his jacket is amazing.
31:03Okay, we have heard what you had to say.
31:05We're going to have a long chat, and then I call you back onto the runway.
31:15Hello.
31:16Hi.
31:19So, what happened?
31:21I have nothing to say because I'll just say some negative s***.
31:27The winner of Project Runway will receive $100,000 to launch their line.
31:32A year's supply of Sally Beauty products along with $25,000 in cash, travel and hotel accommodations
31:37to inspiring destinations around the world from best Western hotels and resorts.
31:41A new Alexis IS from Mary Kay, an entire year's worth of beauty products for their fashion shows
31:47and professional makeup artist services for their debut show.
31:50A complete sewing and crafting studio from Brothers Sewing and Embroidery.
31:54And the winning designer and model will receive a fashion spread in Mary Claire magazine.
31:58Hi, Tim.
31:59Hey, Heidi, Zach, Nina.
32:01Kelly.
32:02Hi, Tim.
32:03So, shall we begin with Team Red Violet?
32:06Yes.
32:06Paola, would you please step out?
32:08There was a heated discussion today on the runway.
32:11Yes, there was.
32:11They did throw each other under the bus a little bit.
32:14And I have to say on the topic of their textiles, when I asked do you have any other color,
32:18all eyes went to Cornelius and it was evident that he had suggested that there be something additional.
32:25But I just have to say it, we have two mean girls on that team and they beat up on
32:30him.
32:30All I'm saying is he ended up having the worst look on the runway.
32:35This coat is stunning.
32:37These pockets out here like this, that is really unique and very cool.
32:41The fabric of the coat is fabulous.
32:44The detailing of the coat is fabulous.
32:47When this walked the runway, it was like, oh, a redeeming moment.
32:50But Erin wouldn't have had a bottom to go with her jacket.
32:53She hoarded the skirt.
32:54She put all her eggs in one jacket.
32:59This is a total Dexter.
33:00Well, to me, this is just terrible.
33:03The one thing I'm really confused about is that if Dexter claims to be so punk rock, why did he
33:08give us a samurai dress?
33:10And why didn't he stud it or the tassels or something to make it pop?
33:13I like that it's denim.
33:16I see.
33:16I thought it was all one dress.
33:18No.
33:18It's a skirt and a vest.
33:22Yeah.
33:22And I'm sorry, I just don't see punk in that.
33:24No.
33:26This is Robbery.
33:28Wow.
33:28Head to toe.
33:29And I mean, to me, this is more punk.
33:30I wanted to say that, but I felt like they were already so annihilated, I couldn't.
33:34Robbery has all the combinations of the textures, and I like to see the mismatched lengths of that skirt.
33:41Very nice.
33:44This is Laurence.
33:46I didn't realize how chic the fabric on the pants are.
33:48Yeah, Laurence really has beautiful taste.
33:50This was not my favorite.
33:52It felt a little unfinished.
33:53It's something in the proportion.
33:55What I love about it is that it's chic, but there's a sense of comfort to it.
33:59All in all, what's so impressive is that in three looks, they really gave you the sense of a collection.
34:04Yes.
34:05Guys, I think Laurence is still in the running.
34:08I think they did a phenomenal job.
34:10I even think the losing team did a fantastic job.
34:13I agree.
34:14Me too.
34:14We had very strong personalities of Dexter and Aaron.
34:17Cornelius has been a little bit more quiet throughout this.
34:20His look wasn't the worst until he got rid of the skirt.
34:25It was really hard for me to see people being bullied like that.
34:29Then we have Dexter, who made his total look.
34:32It's just a question of who do we want to see more of?
34:36The winning team did a fantastic job.
34:39This showed great maturity, this collection.
34:41I think so.
34:41On all parts.
34:42Who is taking home the win?
34:44Is it Rick or is it Robbery?
34:46Or Laurence.
34:47Laurence is out of the running.
34:48I don't know.
34:49I love the tonality on the pants.
34:51It's very small.
34:52It's beautiful, that.
34:53I love her look, but it's nothing against Robbery.
34:56That skirt that he made.
34:58That's the editorial look.
34:59But also Rick did a fantastic job.
35:01Super duper job.
35:03He made a beautiful dress underneath.
35:05Just that gentle lace lining.
35:07Yes.
35:07That was a great jacket.
35:08He put so much detail into this jacket.
35:10It's sophisticated, sportiest sheet.
35:12And we all want it.
35:13So it's really between Rick and Robbery.
35:16So we have made our decision.
35:24The six of you represent the teams with the highest and the lowest scores.
35:27One of you will be the winner of this challenge.
35:31And one of you will be out.
35:35Robbery.
35:42You are the winner of this challenge.
35:45Congratulations.
35:49Thank you very much.
35:51And to my team.
35:53It was so difficult because you were all great.
35:55Right?
35:55Yeah, I wanted you all to win.
35:57But we still felt the strongest about you.
36:01Congratulations, Robbery.
36:03And congratulations, Team Blue.
36:06You're in.
36:06You can leave the runway.
36:08My God.
36:09It's the first time I win.
36:11And it feels great.
36:13It feels amazing.
36:14It feels you're doing a good job.
36:17Hi.
36:19Four one.
36:20Four one.
36:20Who took the cake?
36:21Four three.
36:21Four three.
36:22Four three.
36:22Four three.
36:22Four three.
36:24I feel good because now that is only the most capable people are left.
36:31You have to step up your game to belong to this group of people.
36:35It's a great moment when they really like what you do.
36:39you feel like yeah team red violet there was so much red that it really overwhelmed us Dexter
36:49your intention to go punk really did not come through and your styling choices really failed
36:55your team Cornelius it is clear that your voice was not heard on this team and it's ultimately
37:03up to you as a designer to fight for what you want Aaron we liked your coat very much but
37:13we
37:13wonder why you didn't do more to help your team Aaron you're in you can eat the runway thanks
37:35Dexter Cornelius one of you will be out Cornelius you're out I'm sorry Dexter that means you're safe and
37:55in you can leave the runway okay thank you guys so much I'm sorry Cornelius this was a really tough
38:10decision I'm very sorry that you're leaving and we wish you the best of luck Cornelius you if he doesn't
38:18thank you wishing you all the best it was a great opportunity guys honestly there was a little bit
38:25of lying up on the stage for them to throw me under the bus is they based it off the
38:30personality and how
38:32they were clicking versus who actually did the work hi guys it was a great opportunity
38:43thank you it's a design competition not a popularity contest they have to go to bed throwing someone
38:50under the bus versus taking responsibility and what they created what was the final verdict it was just
38:57like you're out they said I should have spoke up that was it and it was really fun getting to
39:05know
39:05you having you open up and having this small bark at first and then really showing your like sensitive
39:11side mm-hmm yeah thanks that was another rough one yeah but I'm going to underscore the words of the
39:23judges the work that you all created as teams was grand and glorious thank you and Cornelius you're not
39:33going anywhere get out of here I am using my Tim Gunn save just to get on here was amazing
39:50what you're
39:51saying come here you have a strong voice you have a lot more to say and we want to hear
40:01it okay you're
40:03staying thank you thank you so much I really appreciate this you did it you were my motivation thank you
40:22all right everyone let's let's get up and get some air yes I'm so happy you didn't have to go

40:34that I'm so traumatized
