00:12I think yesterday it was more real than anything maybe it's because the first time I've won by
00:16myself. Candace, you are the winner of this challenge. It was like life-altering standing
00:22on that stage winning humbles you as a person in all the right ways. I don't even know what a
00:32phone
00:32sounds like. The last time I heard Bella I was in like high school. Maybe we're designing for
00:37teachers. Maybe we're doing something for the janitors. I'm scared. Good morning designers.
00:43Get up and get ready. Class starts in one hour and you don't want to be tardy. Today is going
00:48to be
00:49just fabulous. We're going back to high school? Oh that's it? High school was hard. But I'm not
00:54that afraid of kids. So we'll see how you do. Let's go. I was the best child ever.
01:08Good morning designers. We are at school. Come in and take a seat in our little mini school room. I
01:15do not
01:16like school. You don't like school? I'm not going to fit. Oh my god I was not very good in
01:21school. Sucks
01:22for me. Designers, I am delighted to introduce you to the fashion director for JustFab, Yu-Chin
01:28Ma. Hi everyone. Hi. JustFab is an online fast fashion retailer. We have recently expanded beyond
01:36accessories and now have a comprehensive line of apparel as well. On this blackboard are five JustFab
01:44member style personas. And Yu-Chin is going to tell us about them. Bombshell. She's not afraid to be sexy
01:50and never one to shy away from the spotlight. Trendsetter. A risk taker. She is edgy, eclectic,
01:57and totally unique. Girl next door. She's a casual and easy spirit. Modern classic. She owns the
02:05tailored look. And last, Femme Nouveau. She's a romantic at heart and the epitome of flirt and
02:11femininity. So designers, you're each going to be designing for one of these style personas. I like
02:18to set trends and I like to take risks so I would love to get trendsetter. And Candace, you won
02:24the
02:24last challenge. Come forward and choose a style persona. Everything inside of me says go for bombshell,
02:30but I think I'm going to pick trendsetter. No! I'm hoping that there's a little box there. Another
02:35person could get trendsetter. Candace, get comfortable standing here because you're going
02:40to be choosing the style persona for each of the designers. You better be nice. You're kidding me.
02:48I'm not kidding you. I know where you sleep. Ashley, I think you should do girl next door. Everybody
02:55thinks that I design the girl next door, but I never thought my style was that. Swap now. I am
03:02pretty confident that she knows who I am as a designer. She knows my strengths. She knows my weaknesses.
03:06I think he's going to have to do bombshell. And that's my goal. Kelly, I think that you would rock
03:13trendsetter. Thank you. Miss Lori, modern classic. I love my teacher. Merlene.
03:21Mm-hmm. I think you have a side of you that you don't yet know, and I think you should
03:27do femme nouveau.
03:29And we have one designer left. I'm really wanting trendsetter. With that, I could just go crazy and
03:35just really push it. Obviously, Edmund, you belong in the bombshell. Obviously, she doesn't understand
03:41that my design aesthetic is more upscale, more high fashion, but I will settle for bombshell. Since
03:47Just Fab design styles inspired by the runway but are affordable for everyone, your look should be
03:53no different. We would like you to create a high fashion look at an affordable price that we could
03:59sell to our members on Just Fab, because that's exactly what we plan to do with the winning look.
04:05Oh, yeah. The winner gets to have their piece mass-produced for Just Fab. It's super exciting.
04:13Reproduced with Just Fab. That's pretty awesome. Designers, you will have 30 minutes to sketch.
04:18Then we're going shopping at Mood, where you will have a budget of $100.
04:23This is a budget. The other designers look scared as hell, and I'm like,
04:28give me freaking $20, and I'll make you the same thing I can make with $100,
04:31because my whole life's a budget, and I have no problem with that. And you will have one day for
04:36this challenge. Hat off. Modern classic is what I do. I believe I do it well, and I love sheath
04:45dresses.
04:46They're so strong and feminine. I'm focusing on the color, the sharp lines. This is me. This is me.
04:53This is who I am as a designer. My style persona is bombshell. I want to really drive home my
05:00element
05:01of sexiness, but you don't want to just start going crazy with it. Turn up the volume, but not the
05:07craziness. Designers, let's head off to Mood. Thank you. All right, designers, have fun.
05:23My vision for this challenge is to make a gold faux leather jacket with an A-line dress underneath.
05:30I am all over the place. I'm having a little bit of trouble figuring out what print I want to
05:36put
05:36underneath, because when I have such a wide range, I feel really stuck. Let's do two yards.
05:42I have the concept of Jessica Rabbit, but I don't want to choose red. I think that's too obvious.
05:47I want my bombshell to be sexy and hot, but at the same time, very modern, very classic. Which is
05:52better?
05:53The one that you have in your hand. This one, right? Yeah. So I'm making this cheetah leopard print
05:58gown and a beautifully draped overcoat. I just want another color just in case.
06:03Designers, that is it. Time is up. Thank you so much. Have an awesome day.
06:08I'm just trying to get my mind wrapped up of what I want to design.
06:12I'll make it work. It will? Yes. Thank you, Mood.
06:27I'm excited, because anyone who wins this competition, their garment's going to be sold.
06:32That would be awesome. It would be like, you want to buy Merlene LaBissiere, which is fab.
06:36Like, I would just lose it, you know?
06:40All right, I'm here to check in with you. I want to see what you're doing and how you're doing,
06:44okay?
06:45I am not ready for Tim right now, but hopefully when Tim Gunn gets to, like, my place,
06:49I'll have, like, at least a top to show.
06:52Hi, Merlene.
06:53Hey, Tim. No.
06:55So what are you doing?
06:56So I want to create a dress under the skirt. This is the skirt that I'm creating.
07:01So it's a skirt over a dress. Over a dress, yes.
07:04She can wear the dress and then have the skirt over it. It's a complete outfit,
07:07and then she can just take it off. This needs to be executed perfectly,
07:12because with white, every little thing is going to show. Everything.
07:18You're right. Thank you, Tim Gunn. Okay, Merlene. Thank you.
07:21So how's swap now? I am okay. What does that mean?
07:26Well, after putting 200% last time, I was safe, so I was a bit...
07:29You put in 200%? Yeah.
07:31Didn't look like? No.
07:34Okay. It's a high neckline. There's going to be full sleeves.
07:37And the back, of course, I'm going to have this detail right from the top all the way.
07:42All right, let me ask you a very blunt question. Yes.
07:45Have you seen this dress before? Yes. Yes.
07:49And what are your thoughts about that? I mean, yes, I thought about the fact that
07:53this is a simpler silhouette, and we've seen this shape before, probably in this print as well.
07:59But for me... I don't like what you're saying.
08:02Yeah. You're incriminating yourself.
08:05Yeah. Think of the judges as being a jury.
08:07Well, I know I stole the item. I know I killed her, but please don't put me in jail.
08:12All right. Yeah. Talk to me.
08:14This is the coat. And I wanted, like, a really sharp arm and have it, like, very sharp and sleek,
08:21but still a little bit avant-garde, but not too much.
08:24Mm-hmm.
08:26This treatment, to me, looks messy. It looks like something went awry.
08:31Yeah, and it's not finished. It still needs to be understitched and then topstitched.
08:35Just keep your eye on it.
08:36Okay.
08:37Thank you, Candice.
08:38Thanks, Tim.
08:39Tell me what you're doing, please.
08:41Well, when I thought of modern classic, I thought of the sheath dress. So I came up with this design.
08:47It's a v-neck, so there's skin showing, and I kind of have a bare back, but still classic and
08:54modern at the same time.
08:55Let me ask you a question.
08:56Sure.
08:57Do you feel there's enough innovation in this?
08:59I've never seen a dress like this. Have you ever seen a dress like this?
09:04I've seen relatives.
09:08So, with the bombshell, I saw this print, and I thought it was absolutely amazing.
09:14What was it about the print?
09:16When you hear bombshell, you really wouldn't ideally think of something to this caliber.
09:21I don't want it to...
09:22You're reading my mind.
09:23Okay.
09:24Are you trying too hard with this look?
09:25I don't know. Honestly, Tim, I think that...
09:29Just think about it.
09:30Think about it.
09:31Okay.
09:31Yeah.
09:31Will do.
09:33How's Kelly?
09:34I'm having fun over here.
09:36You're having fun?
09:37Good. Talk to me.
09:38I wanted to do something that's very confident, strong, colorful.
09:44And it's you.
09:46Are you using this?
09:47Yeah.
09:48You don't like it?
09:49Well, I think it's funny.
09:50I think it's amusing, and it looks a bit like a Muppet bath mat.
09:54A bub...
09:55Yeah.
09:55But I just have to tell you, I get it.
09:58You do?
09:58Yeah.
09:59I was so scared.
10:01I'm excited.
10:02Thanks, Tim.
10:03Hi, Tim.
10:04How's the girl next door?
10:05She's doing good.
10:06Good.
10:07Talk to me.
10:08I wanted to do a leather jacket.
10:10Leather, excuse me.
10:11But I felt like I was taking a risk to do a motorcycle jacket for the girl next door.
10:16I don't know.
10:16I don't think so.
10:17The girl next door today wears a motorcycle jacket.
10:21I mean, I'm just going to be very blunt.
10:23Go for it.
10:25This textile?
10:26Mm-hmm.
10:27Well, it looks like a hospital gown.
10:32This has a luxness about it.
10:35Yeah.
10:35And then this looks droopy by comparison.
10:38I get it.
10:39All right.
10:40I'll make you proud.
10:41Okay.
10:41Thank you, Ashley.
10:42Appreciate it.
10:43All right, designers.
10:44There is a lot of work to be done in this room.
10:46And there is another component to this challenge.
11:00All right, designers.
11:02There is another component to this challenge.
11:06Your look needs a label.
11:10So you are going to be designing and creating a label
11:14using the Brother garment printer.
11:17I am already in the dumps because of what I'm making.
11:20I have no time to think of a logo.
11:23You will be printing it onto a t-shirt.
11:25You're going to be wearing the t-shirt on the runway.
11:29I actually appreciate this because it puts a name with the design on the runway.
11:34Your models will be in soon for a fitting.
11:36You have until midnight tonight.
11:38And I will see you in the morning.
11:40Thank you, everyone.
11:41Thank you, Tim.
11:42Have fun with this.
11:51The skirt part of the dress looks great.
11:53But once I get that collar on, I'm just finding that it is not a good look for her.
11:58You don't have to hold it just for me.
12:00So I'm trying to decide what to do.
12:06I put her in the dress that Tim has critiqued me on.
12:09And it's actually looking oversized and dated.
12:12The only fabric other fabric I have is this red.
12:15Let's put with some of this on this fabric right here.
12:17I begin to kind of like dress and form some shapes on her body.
12:22Okay, I'm loving this direction.
12:23Actually, this little flare here too gives me something to play with.
12:36I think this is a nice color for me, right?
12:38So the twist is that we are supposed to design our logo and have it printed from the brother
12:42printer and wear it on runway.
12:44Done.
12:46The name of my label is Wanda Grace.
12:51Wanda is my middle name.
12:54And something that has so many meanings to me is Grace.
12:58Use the mint green.
12:59My label is called Provoke Style.
13:02And I got that word because I have a non-profit to teach fashion design to little girls.
13:06And we did this thing where you find your word purpose.
13:09So my purpose was like to provoke thought.
13:11Provoke style.
13:15I done.
13:16The N, you're supposed to see the A in it.
13:19And the N and then the T for my initials, so.
13:23That's cute.
13:24Cool.
13:27I do have a label, which is my name and my father's name, Edmund Newton.
13:31One thing my father told me, he said, a man without a dream has no reason to live anymore.
13:35It's been a dream of mine to win Project Runway for at least the last 10 years.
13:41Ugh, it would mean the world to me.
13:47What do you think?
13:48Cute.
13:49Very cute.
13:50Ashley's look is killer.
13:52I think it's looking so nice.
13:53She's definitely the one to watch out for.
13:56All right, designers, it's time to leave.
13:58No.
14:08Clearly, I have a lot of, a lot of time on my hands.
14:11Your outfit done, Lori?
14:12No.
14:13This morning, I'm really concerned because this was not my original design.
14:19I just don't know what this will look like.
14:24No.
14:25Looking around, you've been busy, which is good.
14:28You will have an hour to send your models to the Mary Kay Color Design Studio and the Sally
14:33Beauty Studio.
14:34It's the JustFab.com challenge, so use the JustFab accessories wall very thoughtfully.
14:42And you're branding yourselves today, which is very exciting.
14:45All right, I'm about to send in your models.
14:47Have fun.
14:47Bye.
14:48Thank you, Tim.
14:51I'm just focused at this point.
14:52She has the strap detail in the front as well as in the back.
14:55It's like red thread pin, red thread pin, and just make it work in this small amount of time that
15:01we have.
15:06I'm almost done.
15:08I just have to finish sewing the lining.
15:10Let me see.
15:12Oh my God, it's so cute.
15:14It's perfect length.
15:16Turn it on for me.
15:18Perfect.
15:18It definitely doesn't look like a hospital gown now.
15:22I just hope that it's not too safe because I've really tried to consider the girl next door.
15:29And it has pockets too.
15:30Ooh, yes.
15:36See, we can give it a little bit of texture like this.
15:40And then you literally just mix it with your fingers.
15:42That's a cute girl next door.
15:44Trendsetter.
15:45A bold cat eye.
15:47Definitely guac.
15:48Heavy contour on her cheeks.
15:49Oh, man.
15:50Yeah.
15:51This is the metro modern palette.
15:53Makes her eye just pop.
15:55Pop.
15:56And it'll be all about your dress.
15:59I have trendsetter and I was thinking about doing hair slicked up wicked tight.
16:04Pull it back and then do this like cool twisted matting thing.
16:09Yeah, trendy bun.
16:11She is the bombshell.
16:13I want big.
16:14I would add shine to this and just make it bigger.
16:18You're in the Sally Beauty studio.
16:19So we got you.
16:21I love it.
16:22It's fun, flirty, romantic.
16:25Let's add some wave to this.
16:26Keep it down.
16:27And I want to back comb a little bit here.
16:29Glam, but cute and young.
16:31Yeah.
16:31Cute job.
16:32I love it.
16:33Like, I'd wear that right now.
16:34You are so cute.
16:37Could I turn it around?
16:38My dress form, it's a little larger than my model's body.
16:42So when I put the dress on my model, it contracts a little so the bust line is much higher.
16:48This may even add another element of classiness to this particular look.
16:52All right, designers, you and your models and I are going down to the runway, everyone.
16:58Designers and models, let's go, go, go, go, go.
17:01Good work.
17:02Let's just go.
17:03It would be really great if none of us could go home.
17:06If we can all just stay top seven forever, that would be great.
17:11All right, that's it, everyone.
17:21Hello, everybody.
17:22Hi.
17:23And welcome to the runway.
17:24As you know, in fashion, one day you're in, and the next day, you're out.
17:29There are seven of you here, and after tonight, there will be six.
17:33For this challenge, you were to design a look that fits into a JustFab-style persona.
17:39The winning look will be reproduced and sold on JustFab.com.
17:43That's very exciting.
17:44Amazing.
17:45And then Tim gave you a little twist.
17:47Yes.
17:48You were to design your label imprinted on a t-shirt to show us,
17:52and I see that you all are wearing them today.
17:54Candice, you won the last challenge, which means that you have immunity for this challenge.
17:59That was the last immunity of this season.
18:03All right, let's say hello to our judges.
18:05First, we have creative director for Brooks Brothers Women and fashion designer, Zach Posen.
18:10Hi, designers.
18:11Hi, Zach.
18:12Creative director for Mary Claire magazine, Nina Garcia.
18:15Hi, everyone.
18:16Hi, Nina.
18:17And our guest judge for today, singer Ciara.
18:20Hey, guys.
18:21Hi.
18:22And fashion director for JustFab.com, Yuchin Mao.
18:27Welcome.
18:28Hi, designers.
18:28Hello.
18:29Hi.
18:29Also, we have Tim Gunn here for the runway show.
18:31And as you know, he's your mentor and will not be judging your looks.
18:35That said, he will have the Tim Gunn save.
18:37We also have an anonymous runway show, so we the judges will not know who made which look.
18:42All right, let's start the show.
18:50She's got elegance.
18:51It's looking sexy.
18:52It's looking bold.
18:53I thought, let me just make something safe and something that works.
18:59My biggest concern at this point is the fact that the back is extremely unfinished.
19:12I love the chances I took.
19:14I think it all pulled together really nicely.
19:16I have no regrets.
19:18And considering myself as a trendsetting designer, I want them to see who I am.
19:23Kelly, what are you doing on the runway?
19:24Yeah.
19:25I'm not going to play it safe.
19:37I can see everything that's wrong with it.
19:40Oh, God.
19:41I see everything.
19:42I see the steam in my head.
19:44It may not be made well, but I feel like I stepped outside the box.
20:00This garment's just pushing things that are a bit uncomfortable.
20:04The lapels, they're strong.
20:05The tears on the skirt, it's different.
20:08I struggle.
20:09I think you should struggle every day if that's what's going to come out.
20:11But fashion's not always about fitting in.
20:14It's about standing out.
20:22I made three individual pieces, and I made this faux leather look like real leather.
20:30That's so just fab.
20:31And I feel like this would be a good just fab piece.
20:46I do like the shape, the color, and the construction of my piece.
20:52It looks good.
20:53It looks polished.
20:54And I am so happy with how this turned out.
21:08This look says a lot.
21:10The color definitely is a statement in itself.
21:12You know how when you think of red, you think, uh, this red is good.
21:17I think the fit is awesome.
21:19The persona that I was given was bombshell, and if they have a client that's a bombshell,
21:24I know that she will definitely want this dress.
21:30I have to tell you guys, we were all over the place today.
21:34We actually don't have highs and lows because we all disagreed so much.
21:39Regardless, one of you will be named the winner, and one of you will be out.
21:50Kelly, tell us about your look and your style persona.
21:52My style persona was trendsetter, and I was really excited to get it because I feel like
21:57my design aesthetic is very eclectic and very risk-taking.
22:00So I made this two-piece little jumpsuit, and I also made the little vest.
22:05I want to be really mod, high fashion, and just really fun.
22:08My brand name is Rack Attic.
22:10It's like a play on words.
22:12It's fun, playful, like my clothes.
22:14Ciarra, what do you think?
22:16When I first saw it, I was like, I'm not really sure.
22:19Looking at her right now, she did a great job with putting it all together.
22:23Thank you so much.
22:24Well, I hate to disagree with the judges, but I really don't like this look at all.
22:30I hate the styling.
22:32I understand you want to be cool and modern, but this looks a little clownish.
22:40If you're going to do streetwear, there has to be some innovation in it.
22:43I actually do like the pattern mixing.
22:46However, the overall look is a little bit junior for our members, but good attempt.
22:53Thank you, Kelly.
22:55Candice, tell us about your look and your style persona.
22:58I chose trendsetter.
22:59Wanted it to be fashion-forward and edgy, but not too much.
23:03Cuoco, it's my surname.
23:04My theme is to celebrate women with strength.
23:07Can she turn around?
23:08I thought there was some nice detailing in the back with the studs on it.
23:12I actually overall really like this today.
23:14It's creative.
23:15It looks very well executed.
23:18The second tier on the skirt is not in the most flattering place,
23:22but overall, this looks like one of the most fashion-forward looks.
23:25I like this too.
23:27There's something edgy and cool about this skirt.
23:30Should you be able to resolve this clunkiness of the double scarf,
23:34I think it could be actually nice.
23:37I like when you guys create something new.
23:39When you come up with a silhouette that we really have not seen before,
23:43and that's what you've done.
23:45I really actually do like the skirt part.
23:47However, the striped scarf thing is really hard to understand,
23:52but I applaud you for trying to push the envelope.
23:56I know one thing, shoppers love a two-in-one concept,
23:59but I'm not too crazy about the detail of the skirts being out so far like that.
24:05I'm not really sure about that.
24:07Thank you, Candice.
24:09Marlene, tell us about your look into your style persona.
24:12I got femme nouveau.
24:14I just wanted to do fun and flirty,
24:16and so I wanted to kind of show the girly side of me.
24:19My brand is called Provoke Style.
24:21My purpose is to provoke old thinking into new perspective,
24:24and I do that when you meet me, you know,
24:26it's either you like me or you like I'm too much to handle.
24:29Marlene?
24:30Yeah.
24:31I really like it.
24:33I'm taking it on concept-based, not on the final finish.
24:38The idea, I think, is there for me,
24:40the white cotton in the play does have a romance to it.
24:42Mm-hmm.
24:43I like that you're thinking three-dimensionally.
24:45It's not 100% finished, but there's good ideas there.
24:48Okay.
24:49I have to say, Marlene, I didn't like this look at all.
24:52Okay.
24:52It looks like you don't know how to sew.
24:54Did you struggle?
24:55Interpreting the style persona, you might have missed the mark.
24:58Okay.
24:59Something like this would never be produced.
25:03A peplum and an asymmetrical hemline we have seen many times,
25:08and we have seen it done better.
25:11Okay.
25:12This white fabric that you have as the overlay looks like an apron,
25:16this is a very difficult dress to sell online.
25:19All right.
25:20Style-wise, I like the direction of what you have here.
25:23If everything was really there, I would wear this dress.
25:26Ashley, tell us about your look and your style persona.
25:29I got the girl next door, and this girl likes her basics,
25:34and so I kind of wanted to do my own twist on those basics and just make it fun and
25:38funky.
25:39My brand label is Ashley Nail Tipton.
25:41I specialize in plus-size clothing wear.
25:44My goal is to go against the grain in the plus-size industry.
25:48Ashley, in my eyes, you're back on top again this week.
25:52I am?
25:52In my eyes, yes.
25:53I really like this look.
25:55She's a cute girl next door.
25:57I love her new hair, too.
25:58Yes.
25:59And I love the three pieces that you make.
26:01That jacket looks like it just came right out of the store.
26:04I'm really disappointed.
26:05Sorry.
26:06I just think you have more creativity in you.
26:09But you don't think a young girl would go and just-
26:11I do.
26:11I just don't see any originality here.
26:13This would be a head turner.
26:15If she walks down the street looking like this, you'd be like, wow, check that girl out.
26:19My answer would be like, the intern better put something on the midriff.
26:22If you have a midriff like that, why not show it?
26:25I love it.
26:27I share some of Zach's comments that I know that you can do more,
26:33but the one piece that could sell out would be that gold little leather jacket.
26:40The rest, I could really do without.
26:42You've had good styling up till now.
26:45Aw.
26:46You should really recalibrate.
26:49Okay.
26:49I'm not a big fan of the jacket because it's just not my personal taste,
26:53but I would throw that outfit on with some sneakers.
26:55Just like this.
26:56It's a little cheerleader.
26:58I would put that outfit on.
26:58It's a little cheerleader.
26:59With a pair of sneakers.
27:00But you could work it.
27:01There's something about just really cool to me.
27:05Can I see the back of the jacket?
27:07We could totally sell this jacket.
27:10She is super cute.
27:11You nailed it on the jacket.
27:12However, everything else, you could have pushed the envelope a little more.
27:16Okay.
27:17Thank you, Ashley.
27:20Edmund, tell us about your look and your style persona.
27:23My style persona was bombshell.
27:25I automatically think about the woman who does not necessarily seek attention,
27:29but it's just something about her.
27:31But with that confidence, she doesn't mind wearing something sexy and just being stylish.
27:36My label is my name, which is also my father's name.
27:39And that's my signature brand.
27:40And I'm just really looking to expand that brand.
27:43Well, Edmund, it looks polished.
27:44It's a fitted red dress.
27:46However, this is already out there in a million variations.
27:50This was a mess today.
27:52Edmund, I liked it.
27:54You ticked off so many boxes for the bombshell.
27:57Is it a red dress?
27:58Tick.
27:58Is it tight?
27:59Tick.
28:00Is it sexy?
28:01Tick.
28:01This is probably easy to reproduce and so many girls would look really good in this dress.
28:05Let us have a look again at the back.
28:09Tick.
28:09She came out.
28:10I was like, that is a bombshell.
28:13I agree with Heidi.
28:14This is a dress that will sell online.
28:17It will fit many sizes.
28:19It's got sexiness, but it's got some detail.
28:23The problem with this look is in the styling of your girl.
28:27It just feels very predictable.
28:29This is one of those dresses that I think every girl wants.
28:31I would want to wear this dress.
28:33I think I'm going to feel sexy in it.
28:34It is a bombshell dress.
28:35You got it right.
28:37You nailed the style persona.
28:39Color is perfect.
28:41The silhouette is perfect.
28:42We can sell this all day long.
28:44Good job.
28:45Thank you, Edmund.
28:47Laurie, tell us about your look and your style persona.
28:49My style persona was modern classics.
28:52So I wanted to create a piece that would transition well into her existing wardrobe.
28:57It's a great look and I love it.
28:59My brand is Wanda Grace.
29:02I designed for the woman who has to work but loves to play.
29:05She looks very polished.
29:06But then we have to talk about the boobies again because you do do that to your girl.
29:12I can see again her nipple pads on her boobies.
29:16When you guys get the challenge, are you listening?
29:20I'm listening.
29:21I'm listening.
29:21Are you guys listening that it was going to be sold on Just Fab?
29:24Everything just happened so fast.
29:26You can't really shop this online easily.
29:29It's perfectly fine for a runway look.
29:31It's editorial.
29:33But not for Just Fab.
29:35Okay.
29:35And it's a missed opportunity for you.
29:38I like the concept of this dress.
29:40I do agree.
29:41I think the material used for the top is a bit hard.
29:44I like the skirt part.
29:46She's a bit tailored, a bit sexy, and she's also versatile.
29:50I actually like this look.
29:51It may not be for Just Fab, but it is fabulous.
29:54Thanks, Sierra.
29:54Thank you, Laurie.
29:56Swapnil, tell us about your look and your style persona.
29:59My style persona was a bombshell.
30:01I like to play with sexy but elegant.
30:04What I really wanted to do was take a print which was strong.
30:07I had to put something sculptural because that's who I am,
30:10which is where the cover-up came in.
30:11My label represents ideally someone who's modern and elegant.
30:15Can we see the back, please?
30:18What exactly is on the back?
30:20It's a drape that I tried to create.
30:22Why does she need a cover at all?
30:24I like to do sculptural.
30:26Can we take the back off?
30:28It looks like a butt flap to me, and that's where you really lost me.
30:32I got the wrong kind of a zipper.
30:34I don't mind this dress.
30:36I wish it did not have the back flap.
30:38I wish it did not have that organza piece that looks really matronly.
30:42You just need to pare it down.
30:45I can definitely see, Swapnil, that you struggled.
30:48Again, the organza next to the leopard makes the interesting draping on the top.
30:54Momsy looking.
30:55You got to tie everything together.
30:58I personally love the jacket, but it's not going to sell.
31:01The dress is beautiful.
31:02I love the back detail.
31:03I wish she could have just come out and show the back.
31:06The actual dress itself, the shape, I love.
31:09When you do prints like this, that's your story.
31:11So you don't have to do anything else, like simplify it.
31:16Okay, we've heard what you had to say.
31:19We're going to take a closer look at your designs.
31:21Have a big chat because we all disagreed.
31:25And then I'll bring you back out.
31:26You can leave the runway.
31:34The winner of Project Runway will receive $100,000 to launch their line.
31:38A celebrity cruises modern luxury vacation for two to almost anywhere in the world.
31:42A year's supply of Sally Beauty products and the opportunity to consult with Sally Beauty
31:47to create a limited edition finger paints nail color collection.
31:51Travel in hotel accommodations to inspiring destinations around the world from Best Western
31:56International.
31:57A 2015 Lexus RC 350.
32:00From Mary Kay, an entire year's worth of beauty products for their fashion shows
32:04and professional makeup artist services for their debut show.
32:07A complete sewing and crafting studio from Brothers Sewing and Embroidery.
32:11And the winning designer and model will receive a fashion spread in Marie Claire magazine.
32:17Hello Heidi, Zach, Nina, Ciara, Yuchen.
32:22Hello ladies.
32:23Can we start with Zorana wearing Edmond.
32:25This is a no-brainer.
32:27That would sell like hotcakes.
32:28Wow.
32:29We would all wear this dress.
32:30I would wear this dress.
32:31You would wear this dress.
32:33Hell, I'd wear this dress.
32:38Christina wearing Kelly.
32:39This faux fur looks like a bath mat.
32:43It's awful.
32:44It really is like Chewbacca and Cooking Monster had a baby.
32:48But I do think that a lot of hip young girls would buy that.
32:53She has a very distinct point of view.
32:56I'm not there with you on this one.
32:58I am so ready to send her home.
33:00This is fun and a lot of girls would like it.
33:03A lot of girls would wear that.
33:04And she has a very clear point of view as a designer.
33:10We have Lolly wearing Candace.
33:13Can we just talk about how well made this is?
33:17Pretty incredible.
33:18It's actually a scuba fabric.
33:20I like the skirt.
33:21It's adorable.
33:22This curtain trim halfway through is really in a hard place on the body.
33:26I think if my bootay-tay got in that thing, it would be like cream.
33:33All right, we have Helen wearing Merlene.
33:35To me, this is the worst.
33:37It really is.
33:39And you can't tell me you haven't seen the silhouette before.
33:41I mean, it looks like she has no idea how to sew.
33:44At least there was an effort.
33:45I'll give her that.
33:46This challenge was to design for just fat.
33:49We definitely cannot ship that.
33:50She totally missed the mark.
33:55So we have Obe wearing Ashley.
33:57I think this is cute.
33:59I like this jacket.
34:00Yeah.
34:00It's adorable.
34:01It's fresh.
34:01She's very shy, Ashley.
34:03She really needed to make this look work.
34:06I like the little jacket.
34:07It's cute.
34:07Something cool about it.
34:08It was accessorized perfectly.
34:10Yeah.
34:10It's very street style.
34:11The jacket would be a great seller.
34:16And we have Alina wearing Lori.
34:18Now, like Edmund, I didn't see this until this morning.
34:22You can see the boobies again.
34:24To give something to a customer when they don't know what to wear underneath it.
34:27That bugs me.
34:28I mean, this looks like she's going to a risque nightclub.
34:31And this looks like she's like going grandma.
34:34She did not understand the challenge.
34:41Amani is wearing swapnel.
34:44I just look at what he creates.
34:46And when I look at what he creates, I have to, though, still say that I like this dress.
34:51If this was reproduced, I would buy this.
34:55I'm with Heidi.
34:56I think the shape of the dress is awesome.
34:58And a lot of girls would like it.
35:00The back detail worked out really cool for him.
35:02Guys, it's tacky, tacky, tacky.
35:04I'm sorry.
35:05I mean, there's so much off here.
35:07You could just simply cut this off, make it short.
35:10And all it needs is a stripping pole.
35:13Yeah.
35:14It's hookery.
35:15The intention is good.
35:17It's the execution.
35:18And here we are sitting around redesigning this for him.
35:21Isn't that the whole point of him designing this for us?
35:24100%.
35:27Are you ready for us to depart?
35:30Yeah, thank you.
35:30Amani, I'll let you lead the way.
35:34All right, you guys, we have big decisions to make, and we agree on nothing today.
35:38I mean, I'm getting, like, menopause here.
35:39So who should win today?
35:41It really is between Ashley and Edmund.
35:43A little red dress always sells.
35:46Of course, I had issues because I don't think it's the freshest.
35:49It's just easy.
35:50I don't know what girl wouldn't want that dress.
35:53We all would wear it.
35:54He totally nailed the challenge.
35:56But I still think that Ashley would be a great winner.
35:58Ashley's is adorable.
36:00It's very sellable.
36:01I love this look.
36:02Her inspiration was Girl Next Door, and I just love what she created with that in mind.
36:07I liked how she finished her piece.
36:09Yeah, I could see that she really put in a lot of effort into this, and I can feel it.
36:13All right, let's talk about who's going home today.
36:15I would put Kelly in there.
36:17I'm really not impressed today with Swapnell, and it's been going downhill for me.
36:21To me, it's between Laurie and Marlene.
36:24Femme Nouveau.
36:24She's supposed to be romantic at heart.
36:27She doesn't understand the persona, and she's trying to reinterpret, and that's not being
36:31honest and truth to all members.
36:33This dress looks complicated, dated.
36:37We've seen a peplum, and we've seen an asymmetrical hem.
36:41But Laurie's wasn't even attached.
36:43It was a tube skirt with one seam in the back.
36:46Laurie is about as dull a piece as I've seen.
36:49Who do you guys want to go home today?
36:51I would say Laurie.
36:52I'm going to go with Marlene.
36:54So it's between Laurie and Marlene.
36:57Let's bring them back out.
37:00Designers, one thing was clear today.
37:02We simply could not agree on anything.
37:07Regardless, one of you will be named the winner, and one of you will be out.
37:28Edmund, congratulations, you are the winner of this challenge.
37:36We think that you really understood the girl that you were designing for,
37:40just fab will be reproducing your look and selling it on justfab.com.
37:45That's awesome.
37:47Yeah, that's cool.
37:48Definitely.
37:50Candice, Ashley, Edmund, you're all in.
37:55You can leave the runway.
37:56All right, thank you.
37:56This is my third win.
37:58That's like mind-blowing for me, you know?
38:00And people just being able to like buy and wear my design.
38:05I mean, that's awesome.
38:06We still here.
38:07Congratulations.
38:13Swap now.
38:14You're in.
38:15You can leave the runway.
38:24Kelly, Ciara and I really liked your look,
38:27but we were in the minority.
38:30You're in.
38:31You can leave the runway.
38:31Thank you, guys.
38:41Merlene, some of us thought that your look had great ideas.
38:46I was unfortunately not one of them.
38:49Okay.
38:51We had differing opinions on your look.
38:54In general, we really did not see any innovation and we certainly were not inspired.
39:06Larry, I'm sorry you're out.
39:08I'm sorry you're out.
39:09Thank you very much.
39:10Thank you for the opportunity.
39:11I really appreciate it.
39:15Merlene, that means you're in.
39:17Merlene, you can leave the runway.
39:31I'm sorry.
39:33Thank you, Heidi.
39:36Thank you all.
39:37It happened.
39:38Someone had to go home.
39:39It's very sad, but I gave it my all and I stayed true to who I am.
39:46Hey, no sad faces.
39:49My time is up.
39:52I made it far.
39:54Everything that happens, happens for a reason and you just have to accept that and move forward.
39:59No crying.
40:00No crying.
40:01I just heard no crying.
40:04We're going to miss you.
40:05I'm going to miss you all too.
40:07Lori, we're going to miss you too.
40:09Thank you, Tim.
40:10I appreciate that.
40:11And I have to send you to the work room.
40:12All righty.
40:13Just clean up your space.
40:14Absolutely.
40:15Thank you so much, you guys.
40:17This isn't the end for me because I believe in my damn self.
40:21This does not stop my shine.
40:23There are other spotlights for Lori Underwood, designer of Wanda Grace,
40:29to be in and she will be there.
40:32I'm still writing my story and the best part is yet to come.
