00:00Does anybody really think Deshaun Watson was Kevin Stefanski's idea?
00:05No.
00:05Okay, thank you.
00:07No.
00:09Kevin was handed a quarterback, and they said, hey, good luck.
00:13I think that, I mean, Doc got it right in the beginning.
00:17He had an offensive line, and he had receivers when he was in Houston.
00:20He had an offensive line here early on,
00:23but he also had an 11-game suspension to start with.
00:26Yeah, I mean, it wasn't like, I don't know, an injury didn't help him.
00:30Everybody needs to remember the Browns' offensive line was pretty good until recently.
00:35And the same guys who were pretty good got injured and missed some games
00:39and for some odd reason why it got benched partially.
00:44I don't get it.
00:45I still don't understand.
00:46I mean, I know we've asked around a little bit.
00:48Something didn't, something was wrong.
00:50Something didn't work there.
00:51Something went sideways.
00:52You can hope that Deshaun comes back and the Doc is right.
00:57Okay.
00:57A lot of things have worked against him, a lot of them his own doing.
01:03But maybe the shoulder really had a chance to heal up because he was working on the Achilles.
01:08You know, he had to deal with that.
01:11Maybe he's going to be a better quarterback this year and more physically ready to go.
01:15I hope so, Andy.
01:16And if he is, start him.
01:17Let's go.
01:19It's not like you're not paying for it.
01:21I know.
01:21You might as well make a move there.
01:23All right.
01:23So could it be quarterback?
01:24Could it be wide receiver?
01:25What would they do if they could still make a big move?
01:28Like I said, I feel like the shop is closed until the draft.
01:32216-474-0092.
01:34Cynthia Freeland was on the afternoon drive yesterday from NFL.com.
01:37And they asked her about the potential to make some big moves.
01:41It doesn't appear on the outside as if they're thinking this is the year to really make the big, take
01:47the big swings or the big moves.
01:48Not to say that, you know, addressing your O-line isn't something I think is a really smart strategy.
01:52I'd be curious to see, you know, we talk about wide receivers.
01:55We talk about the tight ends even because now it's very in vogue to have the pass-catching tight ends.
02:01There's just a lot of unanswered questions.
02:02I know that we, there's a really good one that also played his college ball in the state of Ohio.
02:06But other than him, I mean, you lost David Njoku as well.
02:09So I'm just curious to see what the strategy will be because a lot of times the style of quarterback
02:14will dictate that strategy.
02:16And I don't think Deshaun, even a, let's pretend Deshaun's healthy, his style's quite different from Shador's.
02:21So they're not similar pieces.
02:23You go and you see Michael panics and you see, you know, what happened with Atlanta bringing two in.
02:28And yes, I know they're both lefties, but they also get rid of the ball very, very quickly.
02:31They play similar styles of ball.
02:33It doesn't seem like they have the congruent pieces in the quarterback room to say,
02:37this is the year we're trying to push our chips in to win the division.
02:40What do you think?
02:43I get that feeling.
02:45You know, it, it, it truly feels like they're trying to build a team with a new head coach
02:52and their foot is not on the accelerator all the way down to the floor.
02:57I don't mind that.
03:00You know, I, I would rather be patient and try to build rather than overreact and, and do something hasty.
03:08You know what I mean?
03:10Let me give you another thought.
03:11Sure.
03:11Yeah.
03:11Give me another thought.
03:13Andrew Barry has, I don't think he's drafted wide receivers.
03:18Well, we'll, we'll see about Isaiah Bond.
03:21I still, I do like Cedric Tillman who they drafted in the third round, but Cedric has to be able
03:26to stay healthy
03:27and be on the field and be productive with somebody other than James Winston.
03:32But he has traded for wide receivers.
03:35Today's what?
03:36March 17th.
03:38Meteor day in Northeast Ohio or St. Patrick's that one too.
03:41Yeah.
03:42All three of the guys that he's traded for at wide receiver, Amari Cooper, Elijah Moore, Jerry Judy,
03:49traded for Jerry Judy on March 9th, traded for Amari Cooper on March 11th, traded for Elijah Moore on March
03:5822nd.
03:59Oh, I thought you were going to say the 15th.
04:00That would have been, today would have been the day.
04:02So this, well, this is, in other words, okay, free agency is kind of settled a little bit, you know,
04:08and with, with some of these guys and then, then he's made his moves.
04:13So this is the time of the year where he has traded for a wide receiver.
04:18So maybe just stay tuned.
04:21You know what I mean?
04:22Yeah.
04:23But it's, yeah, it's gotta be a trade though.
04:25I think those are all trades, right?
04:26There's no free agency there.
04:27Amari Cooper, Elijah Moore, Jerry Judy, all trades and all in March.
04:32Do you, and, you know, just, does that mean anything?
04:35Well, it's the start of the new league year.
04:36You know, it's the start of free agency and everything else.
04:38Maybe, maybe somebody becomes available.
04:41Another team signs a guy, then somebody else gets kicked out and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
04:45But his trades for wide receiver have happened right around this time of the year.
04:51So maybe, maybe he does something there in the next day or two with a trade.
04:56Like, we talked about this before the show too.
04:59What do you, is Brandon Ayuk even on the radar?
05:03Well, he's on somebody's radar.
05:05He's not on the 49ers radar.
05:08You know, on one hand, you think of Brandon Ayuk and you think, wow, what a great talent.
05:13And then he had some injuries.
05:15And he also had some issues out there that would make you think, well, we don't.
05:20Why would you want to go get him?
05:23Part of the thought was, you know, the guy just didn't want to play.
05:26True.
05:28Now, was it completely a disagreement with the team?
05:32Or is there something else going on?
05:35Who knows?
05:36He'd be an interesting fit here.
05:37I mean, he'd be a great fit here.
05:39Well, he'd be a great fit here if he decides he wants to play and can be as productive as
05:44he's been at times.
05:45He's 28 now.
05:46Well, that keeps him under the Logan's run radar.
05:49So he's good there.
05:50I would, if he was interested in playing for the Browns, I would be more than happy to have him
05:56play for the Browns.
05:57I think he's a talented guy.
05:59But there are issues there that, you know, if you're not on the football field and part of the reason
06:06why is stuff that comes into play other than injuries makes you wonder a little bit, doesn't it?
06:12Do you think the Browns care?
06:15Well, they should.
06:16Do they, though?
06:17Jeff, I mean.
06:18Andy, how many guys with issues of any sort do you want to bring to a football team?
06:26Can they win you a Super Bowl?
06:28Is that what the question's asked?
06:29Oh, I don't.
06:30Let's not talk about Brandon Ayuk in a Super Bowl.
06:33No, but I'm just saying, you're just saying how many guys can you bring in like that, whether it's Brandon
06:39Ayuk or anybody else.
06:41I just think they don't.
06:42Again.
06:43I mean, the Browns have proven in the past they don't care about.
06:46I mean, they care, but they don't care.
06:48You know what I'm saying?
06:49Yeah.
06:50I mean, if you're willing to let a quarterback sit out, what, 11 games, right, on a suspension, and you
06:56knew it when you traded him in, I mean, there is no.
07:00Do you understand what I'm saying?
07:01It's like, okay, if a guy can help you win, they don't seem to, it doesn't bother them.
07:08Okay.
07:09Fair?
07:10Am I wrong, or am I?
07:11No, I don't think you're wrong, but, you know, he's been out with injury, and then there were the whole
07:20issues with the 49ers, didn't attend team meetings, you know, stuff like that.
07:27Okay.
07:27Is he going to be more engaged as a member of the fill-in-the-blanks?
07:33But we brought in a quarterback that didn't open the playbook.
07:38I mean, that's our history.
07:40Well, Andy.
07:43I mean, I'm not making things up.
07:45Again, if Brandon Ayuk is healthy and wanted to play here, and they were convinced of it, he'd be a
07:49great addition.
07:51He had a couple of thousand-yard seasons.
07:53Yeah.
07:53He's a good wide receiver.
07:56But how many guys with issues do you want to put on your football team?
08:00Does Todd Munkin want him, Andy?
08:02I guess everything, all roads lead back to Todd Munkin.
08:05Well, it kind of does, doesn't it?
08:06I'm not being facetious here.
08:08We just don't know.
08:08We're not going to know until they take the field.
08:11Although, to bring in the acquisitions, that's on Andrew.
08:14I mean, does Andrew have to get Todd Munkin's approval on this stuff?
08:19Well, you hired an offensive-minded coach because your offense was garbage, and you want to get it fixed.
08:26So I would certainly think you would consult him, wouldn't you?
08:30I would think so, too.
08:31But you know what?
08:32You never know.
08:32But who knows?
08:33They may be of like mind.
08:35And then all of a sudden, you've got your answers.
08:37Correct?
08:38Let's go with that.
08:39All right.
