00:00If what the Browns did at offensive line, if you're left wanting based off what they did,
00:07we're kind of in a mode for me where it's like, well, tell me what they could have done differently
00:11because the only way you could have made me like this plan a little bit more
00:15is if you had signed Tyler Linderbaum and you can't help that he chose the Raiders over you.
00:21Add $9 million more per season.
00:22No, you can't help that.
00:24And obviously, again, they're doing what they have to do.
00:27You had to put more bodies into the mix.
00:28That's part of that.
00:30But I also look around and say if you're going to build an offensive line all through free agency,
00:34you can't expect people to turn around and be like, oh, you've solved everything either in one day
00:38because that's not reality either.
00:39Yeah, and listen, there's no foolproof plan in free agency.
00:45Smart teams miss spending free agency.
00:48Smart teams get it wrong or have a good idea that just doesn't work out.
00:53I think I'm going to give this thing a chance.
00:55And again, to me, it's the two-phase.
00:57There's you're getting the now done.
01:00And I think you've got enough guys to say if the season started tomorrow, you could field a competent offensive
01:07line.
01:08And then it's, you know, I've heard people say draft one offensive lineman and then draft maybe one more guy
01:14and that's it.
01:14Nope, I think you need at least three guys in the draft, one very highly drafted, and then two developmental
01:20guys so that you can avoid a situation two years from now where you're repeating having to replace 80%
01:28or more of your offensive line.
01:29Yeah, you've got to act like you don't have it solved yet.
01:31And, you know, it's interesting.
01:32I was listening to Chicago radio earlier today, and, like, they were just talking about this idea that Jed Wills
01:38can be some sort of, like, great signing and all of this.
01:42And they were just waxing poetic.
01:43Oh, former first-round pick.
01:45And I don't know what happened to that injury last year, but I'll take a guy with that type of
01:48pedigree and a guy, and I'm like, what are they talking about?
01:52And so I'm just trying to make sure we don't turn into that when it comes to, like, a Zion
01:56Johnson conversation.
01:57And, you know, it's not putting a bunch of lipstick on a pig.
02:00I don't know.
02:00Maybe these guys work out, but there is a reason for why they got there.
02:03And the Jed Wills convo just threw me for a massive will.
02:06Well, the nice thing is none of the guys that they've signed to significant money deals have the tag of
02:13being somebody that you're not sure if they're going to play hard.
02:16I will say that's a nice thing when you hear about Elton Jenkins, when you hear about Howard.
02:23Like, these are guys that are known to kind of be, I don't want to say try-hards, but guys
02:27that are known to kind of be.
02:28I know, but you see how this kind of flies.
02:29It was like, again, I'm listening to the whole entire, they talked about it for a half hour.
02:33And, like, people I respect talked about it.
02:35And not one moment did it get brought up, anything about Jed Wills and some of those issues that we've
02:40talked about at length.
02:41And, you know, like, there's always hidden parts to these games that you have to know intimately if you're watching
02:46these games and knowing this person's career.
02:48And sometimes that'll just play out, and we'll see it from there.
02:50Also, I am so down for this Thomas, whatever they want to call it, the Thomas is on the farm.
02:57I guess you could.
02:58I'm just so excited for the idea that they're going to have.
03:01The Hall of Fame farm or something like that?
03:04Probably.
03:04That sounds about right.
03:06Although, I don't know.
03:06I mean, Clarkson's farm.
03:07So, yeah, that's going to be something's farm.
03:09Thomas's farm, that would just be very derivative.
03:11Is there an alternative to farm that you can even use?
03:13Is there something that, like, even makes sense in that world?
03:15Rustic.
03:16Rustic?
03:16Something or other.
03:17Okay.
03:18Yeah.
03:18They could just be the Thomas's, and then, like, have his whole family involved.
03:21That sounds like a show about polygamy, the kind of shows we talked about yesterday.
03:24Yeah, it does.
03:24Yeah, it does.
03:25Yeah.
03:25Meet the Merrifields.
03:27That's what that was, Seeking Sister Wives, that was a lot more content there.
03:30I wish you would have texted him the idea, and then him come on and been like, so, yeah,
03:34we were just talking with our content team, and we want to make it this, this, and this,
03:37and you would have totally, you would totally would have lived life thinking that he just
03:40took your idea.
03:41I would have.
03:42The problem is, it probably would have made Joe hate me, because I would have just talked
03:45about it constantly, about how it was really my idea.
03:47So, it's better this way.
03:48Oh, no, it's much better this way.
03:49I think for everybody involved.
03:50For Joe and my relationships.
03:51You would have asked for, like, producer credits.
03:53You would have been like, give me something.
03:55I tried to wiggle onto the show.
03:56The whole point of that show is somebody's got to be the idiot.
03:59I think he knows you wouldn't leave this job to go do that job, but.
04:02I can multitask.
04:03How?
04:04It's a farm in Wisconsin.
04:06We got comrexes.
04:07Are you going to go live in Wisconsin for?
04:08That's also an hour back.
04:09That's also an hour back.
04:10Yeah.
04:10So, not only, so I'll basically be able to work from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m., then get
04:16to our meeting,
04:16which is at 1 p.m. this time, I'd lose some weight, and I'd be, like, Caleb, who is not
04:24the idiot on Clarkson's farm.
04:26Caleb's got a book out.
04:28He's doing comedy tours around England.
04:30The man is raking in there.
04:32He's got, like, 6 million, no, 4 million followers on Instagram.
04:35Oh, you've got high hopes Israel going to take off, then?
04:37If I was involved, yes.
04:39Yeah, okay, all right, good.
04:40Yeah, yeah.
04:40Yeah, I'd be the guy that drops a chainsaw on his foot.
04:44But you should have sold it to him, then, the idea that, like, if not for you, I mean,
04:48this thing is going to just absolutely blow up.
04:49You don't really want to move to Wisconsin, though.
04:53You mean have access to any of the beef that I want?
04:57Yeah, but, like, you just moved your family a few years ago.
05:01They could stay here.
05:01Oh, they stay here.
05:02That's the other part of this, though.
05:03So, they stay here, and then you're, what is this, like, a vacation for you?
05:07It's a lot of hard work.
05:08It sounds like he's going to do this.
05:09It's going to be, like, a daily thing for a long time.
05:12They'll be, and I'll have a lot of beef, but I'll have two incomes, and they can thank
05:15me later.
05:16You're going to raise your kids on beef?
05:18Yes.
05:19Beef money, that is.
05:20Yeah.
05:20Beef money, I'm sure you already give them enough beef.
05:23You need to be sending it home.
05:25Yeah, that's tough.
05:26Now, all this being said, as we've spoken a lot about the offensive line and the quarterback
05:31there, with, oh, gosh, about four weeks to go to the NFL draft, actually, more than that.
05:37It's like five weeks.
05:38What's one wish outside a quarterback you'd have for the Browns?
05:40I think it's got to be wide receiver, and so, like, I think it's fun.
05:43I think earlier it used to be the debate.
05:45It'd be, like, wide receiver, offensive line, which route do you want to go, and now we're
05:49in a comfortable spot where I feel like you can wish for a wide receiver, even just a number
05:54one in some capacity.
05:55I don't know what trade it's got to be.
05:57I don't know.
05:58We always talk about different players involved in this stuff, but, like, you got to get an
06:01if you gave me one wish, the genie from Aladdin came down and said, you get one, I'm making
06:06a big trade for a number one wide receiver.
06:08So this is, oh, a trade?
06:09Well, I mean, yeah, it's not going to be just drafting a wide receiver at six.
06:13That's already...
06:14You got to double up on wide receivers?
06:16I'm making this a powerful wide receiver room.
06:19Yeah, that's part of the idea.
06:20I feel like if you traded for a one and then also had...
06:23And again, this is not...
06:24It's not going to happen.
06:24They don't have the stones to do this.
06:26I would trade for a one, and then I would draft one at six overall, and I would do as
06:32Joe suggested.
06:33You got to give this team weapons.
06:34We don't have enough weapons.
06:35Who's the wide receiver you would trade for?
06:37At this point, I would like Marvin Harrison.
06:39I would like Brian Thomas Jr., but if we want to go even bigger, can I go...
06:43Like, this is a wish list type scenario?
06:45Sure.
06:45I think A.J. Brown's got to be the call.
06:47Okay.
06:48Never going to happen.
06:49Okay.
06:49Financial restrictions out the you-know-what.
06:52But in this wish, this is what I get to make.
06:55I want A.J. Brown on this team.
06:56I agree that it's wide receiver, but I want to see wide receiver at six specifically.
07:02Or whatever your first first-round pick is.
07:06I think left tackles are getting pushed up the board in a way that makes me uncomfortable.
07:10Monroe Freeling at 24, I'm comfortable with.
07:13Caleb Lamu at 24 makes me comfortable.
07:15I understand that there's a risk component here.
07:18They might not be there at 24, and so I'm going to say, I understand that.
07:25I'm still going to take the guy that I think has the best chance to impact what you've got.
07:29I don't love that I don't think Mekhi Lemon, Jordan Tyson, or Carnell Tate are going to be there at
07:3524,
07:35and those are the three guys that I think give you the best chance at, like, number one production.
07:40Yeah.
07:40And I do think, like...
07:42So is Tyson your guy, then, or which one?
07:43I think Tyson's my guy, because I think he is the guy with the best chance to be a number
07:50one wide receiver.
07:51If Carnell Tate is T. Higgins, that's a nice signing.
07:54That's a nice drafting.
07:56It's not the same thing as being Jamar Chase.
07:59Mekhi Lemon, that dude's just weird.
08:02I hate to do this.
08:04He's a hell of a football player and a big playmaker.
08:07The Combine stuff was really weird.
08:09I'm not even talking about the reports about the person.
08:11No, just the press conference.
08:13I'm talking about kind of doing, like, a weird, like, seductive thing.
08:17I don't know.
08:18It just did wig me out a little bit.
08:20His eyes were doing a lot of work there.
08:21It was.
08:22It was like...
08:23He got crazy eyes.
08:24It was like a guy at a bar trying to seduce the entire bar.
08:29I was thinking Adam Gase eyes.
08:31But I was thinking crazy eyes.
08:32He didn't give those off, because Adam Gases were, like,
08:34like a wide-open, wired-type thing.
08:37Adam Gase eyes were just crazy eyes.
08:38No, but I think if crazy eyes in general are just a red flag.
08:41Mekhi Lemon's were crazy, seductive eyes.
08:42It's a red flag.
08:42If you're going to use your eyes in any sort of way
08:44to try to do this whole media thing, that's probably not...
08:47I don't know.
08:48You guys watch these YouTube videos.
08:50I don't use my eyes at all.
08:51I will tell you.
08:52I think if Adam Gase...
08:53Maybe I need to be more seductive to YouTube.
08:55...had crazy, seductive eyes.
08:57See?
08:57See how crazy that looks?
08:59Huh?
