00:20has made this even more prevalent for the fan we we forego the emotion of the
00:25moment and then we get right to I have to be the most emotionless I'm analytical I
00:31have all these incredible thoughts let me just be very clear about the emotion of
00:35the moment this is why sometimes it really sucks to be a Browns fan because
00:40more often than not my entire life with being a Browns fan I'm on this end of it
00:47I've never on the Rams end of it where you acquire the super no OBJ yeah come on
00:52OBJ was acquiring a superstar guy was a knob when we traded for him oh that was
00:56that was the excitement was crazy I did say more often than not okay I was not
01:00speaking in absolute absolutes I'm thinking about it I'm like that that was
01:04the most elation you could have but like yes you're right you're right we are on
01:07the side typically of giving away but I just continue to like that that's the
01:11emotion there is a sadness there is a disappointment in this that I can't shake
01:16we can look at the trade compensation and you're either gonna think it's enough
01:19or not enough you're gonna most people think not enough right now you're gonna
01:22look at moving on from miles and you're gonna think to yourself well to hell with
01:27him or to hell with the Browns but like just just specific to the idea of this
01:32trade and what it symbolizes it's another thing to be tacked on to the worst
01:36trade in NFL history the Deshaun Watson trade because if that trade works out
01:40you're not trading Miles Garrett right it's another reminder that Andrew Barry
01:44walked into Baker Mayfield Nick Chubb Denzel Ward Miles Garrett and a butt ton
01:50of cap space and we got one playoff win and two playoff appearances and now we're
01:56back in the cycle of suck I understand there's a lot more than that and I
02:00promise you this is not gonna be me five hours dumping on this trade but I
02:04have to be honest to the emotion that I'm feeling which is just cool draft picks
02:09because that's what I give a rat's ass about today well Jared versus nice I like the
02:13first side of things I'm honestly I'm surprised you brought up Jared verse last
02:16week and in my mind I was I think that might be that might be too rich I don't
02:20know that we're gonna get someone like that in return the other parts of this
02:23is I think what fans are gonna rail on I think when fans dreamed up this trade
02:26they thought three first rounders you really start to rebuild this thing and
02:29you go from there the idea that it's one first rounder Jared first and then a
02:33second and a third it just doesn't seem like enough for a lot of fans yeah and I
02:37think this is one of those things I'm sure if this is all the Browns get which is
02:41Jared verse a first a second and a third I'm sure that the Browns spin is going
02:47to be well Jared first was a first round pick two years ago and we believe he has
02:51they're gonna act like that's a first round pick in general exactly and so I
02:54really think he's really good by the way too I need to like just tell people out
02:57there like his his advanced numbers are incredible top 10 pass rush rate like a
03:02PFF darling Jared verse we also get to use the word ascending right he's an
03:07ascending player he might ascend to be like a Trey Hendrickson type you know what the
03:11craziest thing is he's only five years younger than Miles yeah this is how the
03:14NFL works that's how that works drafted seven years after Miles and he's five
03:19years but the trade part of this that matters the most is that I think there's
03:22a lot of fans that are at least I am I'm thinking all right last year you had
03:25that report out of New England that the Patriots were going to give up three
03:29first rounders for Miles Garrett it's like if you're going to do this the entire
03:32time why were you so hell-bent on making sure that he stayed in a Browns
03:36uniform for last year a five win season yeah you could have taken advantage of the
03:40idea last year you trade him out you start this rebuild it almost seems like
03:43you're directionless the entire time and and it just feels like all right so now
03:47you say uncle now is the part where you cave into his demands it just it feels
03:50like it feels like a missed opportunity even though we love the DPO Y season it
03:55just feels like a missed opportunity yeah here's the other part Andrew Barry
03:59already in the crosshairs because of the Deshaun Watson trade which again
04:02necessitates this trade you screwed that up so poorly and then you didn't hit some
04:07weird pocket of luck to find a quarterback the last two off seasons that now you have
04:12to trade Miles Garrett and I get Miles as a part of this that we do have to talk
04:15about as well Miles's intentions and what Miles wanted to be going a year ago but but
04:20then to to go out on March 30th and just say he is a Cleveland Brown forever a career
04:26Brown yes that's the term career that again he was always full of it I mean no one
04:31can take him seriously anyway when he speaks to a microphone remember he did say I think in
04:35that same press conference say what you want about me but I never lie to you guys
04:39he's always lied to us it's always done is lie to us that's why I tell everyone that
04:42I listen all he does is lie to us and that's fine but like I it's not his job to
04:46tell us
04:46the truth all the time there is going to be a part that like I need to know why this
04:50happened now just to what you're speaking to like is this a Jimmy Haslam mandate is
04:55this Andrew Barry realizing if he wants to have this job for another five years he's got

05:37and then because we didn't have anybody on the record saying the Browns are shopping Miles Garrett
05:42I just missed it dismissed it all out of hand and once again I was wrong so you're shocked
05:48you're shocked today yeah yeah if this doesn't happen and I told you this is a pre-show meeting
05:52we're going I'm basically going to spend five hours going at everybody being like
05:57what is on record here what is visibly on record I was going and then it would have made it

06:02uncomfortable for me because I'm like they I would have been like he's he's being traded accepted
06:05and you would have been like give me more facts I was like I got Traeger last week I got

06:45youth you have I I don't necessarily look at this and say you're so much worse that this is going

06:51a top three team next year it's a youth movement this is the whole idea uh what Albert had been
06:55telling us for how long about the timelines not adding up this is Andrew Barry accepting that the
07:00timelines for this Browns team is more about what happens not this following year but the couple years
07:05two three years from now and getting that all on the same page and so it sucks from a from
07:10a fan
07:10based perspective this sucks because what they are openly telling you is they don't care about this
07:15season Nick this is not the season that they're going to try to win this is a season where they
07:19just continue to try to grow these players the younger guys get better and better and you just
07:23kind of let the cards fall where they may uh but it is a is a very disappointing standpoint for
07:28anyone
07:29including like Mac who's betting 12 wins on this team like it's disappointing for those type of people
07:33that we're trying to buy into this roster being very good yeah and I and I do think like that

07:38of the continued overhaul of the Cleveland Browns I think that's another part of this where it's like
07:44when when we're talking as of right now the only thing I'm seeing is a first a second and a

07:50split over the next three years it's a little tough for me to get excited what appears to be the
07:56the 32nd pick in the draft because the Rams who were pretty good last year not sure if you guys
08:01remember a title game uh they just traded for Miles Garrett and Trent McDuffie in the same
08:07special teams play away from just basically winning the uh winning the Super Bowl all things
08:10considered so like there's a part of me that's like the amount of things that would have to go
08:14wrong for the Rams like last year when we were talking about the Mason uh Graham trade yeah the
08:18Jacksonville we were like what's Jacksonville what a trash ass franchise they are and then listen they
08:24had a really nice season that was 13 wins yeah 13 good for them and but you at least all
08:30season
08:30long you were like they're gonna fall on their ass don't worry yeah they started fine that's okay
08:34it's the Rams right you at least had that idea of it could still be a top 20 pick at
08:40any point this you don't have that like there is it feels like there is literally no chance that
08:46the Rams pick is going to be anywhere other than 28 to 32 and that's unless Stafford's old and gets
08:51injured or something yeah even then like I just I don't know about Ty Simpson that there's so much
08:55talent around the quarterback with the Rams that it's almost like they're you never want to say
09:00well you might want to say this about the Rams because maybe the sports gods will jinx them
09:04but they almost are quarterback proof between their head coach and that roster it's an incredible
09:09blockbuster deal that it's funny because we've been talking about it under the radar for so long
09:14and the whole sports world is like this one really took us by surprise here like this this was an
09:18absolute uh auto left field type trade and I just said the whole thing's incredible we actually got
09:23to a spot where they traded them and the fans right now are not they're not solely just killing
09:27Andrew Barry but I think when they see the compensation I wonder if they're going to change
09:31their tune yeah I mean like we that's the big question I have we've spent a year talking about
09:36three first round first we were committed to it and last year they could have had it and all you
09:39got was a five win season and great the DPOY is great I will you remember where you were when

09:44broke the sack record Nick maybe you will 20 years from now it's in Wadsworth I would have rather had
09:48the three first round picks though like if this was always the end result I would have just done it
09:52and already taken the three firsts yeah but now we're here but now we're here and you don't have those
09:57things no and like again I think the Browns are going to be naturally just good enough to not get
10:03a top
10:03five pick and I think and I think the Rams are going to be you know naturally good enough that
10:08they're going to get one of the last four or five picks of that round of the first round in

10:15and like I'll be honest with you three first wouldn't have been enough for me no because it's
10:20Miles Garrett like I there is a there's a part of me that's really struggling to comprehend
10:26that I've I've seen the best quarterback that the Browns have drafted developed whatever
10:32since 1999 given away for a fifth round pick so we could go ahead and do the whole Deshaun debacle
10:38and then the best edge rusher actually no between Joe Thomas and Miles Garrett one of the two best
10:45football players I've seen wear a Browns uniform in my adult life and drafted by the Browns and I've
10:52seen him give away for again a very nice young player and three picks that could end up being I
10:57mean I thought back to the Jacksonville deal the first deal that uh that that what's his name less
11:02need made where he put him on the table which was for two first rounders for Jalen Ramsey in 2020
11:08I know 2019 and it was Caleb on chase on and Travis H and oh gosh I bet you Jags

11:15those three years of not having Jalen Ramsey around because of Caleb on chase on and Travis H and oh

11:21the way they don't even have the damage the the absolute emotional blah that we've had I was
11:28trying to think of a better word because the other one was a curse word but the emotional damage that
11:33we've had during the last three years of the Andrew Barry era so where does this where does this stop
11:38is what I want to know is it just Miles Garrett cycle of abuse probably never probably never uh no
11:42are we are we now having Denzel Ward conversations does that have to be the next route of this like

11:47like I I want to know if is this is this a garage sale for the Browns they're going to
11:50trade Miles
11:51is it all about him being discontent and him being unhappy because it seems like that's a lot of
11:55what's driving this but also if you're just going to go ahead and do a value proposition and get
11:59everybody ready for 2027 that draft in 2028 and really mind this thing up for when the Browns have
12:05their new stadium often ready to go and a quarterback and everything in place are we open season now
12:12or are they just going to like half do this I don't think anyone can know are they just are
12:15they just going to kind of split the baby on this one and say Miles was disgruntled Miles didn't want
12:19to be here and this was the end result just and are they going to even try to pivot and
12:23put it
12:23solely on Miles because they they maintained for the longest time that it was always their call
12:28it was always their decision it was always them that were going to be making the the the shots
12:32here well all right let's let's see what happens we should have known a dinosaur cupcakes in that
12:36weird press conference a year ago the whole thing was so weird and it never got unweird from there
12:40no but again guys the entire Miles experience for like the last six years has been weird I know
12:47he is uh one of the greatest players I'll ever watch play on a consistent basis but also one of
12:52the
12:52weirdest just from a straight-up coverage standpoint the speeding tickets the uh everything around him
12:58and and what's odd is like when you think about great Miles Garrett moments we don't have
13:02we have you know the giant the Joe Burrow uh through the legs sack and then we have obviously
13:07breaking the sack record but it's more people remembering him hitting uh hitting Mason Rudolph
13:11than it is anything else like it's more moments like that that stick out than any exceptional play
