00:00all right now you've got money now the question i think just becomes what are you really going to
00:04try and do with it yeah and i think that's the fascinating part about uh what the next couple
00:07weeks are about i will they spend like drunken sailors or will they just kind of hide and hang
00:13back because we know they have the resources that's the different thing about this this isn't
00:17like as if they're choosing one or the other based off of well we have to be stingy here
00:22like a baseball team for instance uh being like well i can't afford an outfielder and a shortstop
00:27no the cool thing about the browns is that they have the money they spend more money than anybody
00:31in the nfl for the previous five years they can do whatever they want to it's just whenever andrew
00:36berry feels like he's ready to make some sort of swing and it doesn't feel like he's ready for
00:40that right now yeah i don't i just i don't honestly know what to expect um i want them to
00:46be aggressive
00:47i want them to act like a real nfl team with cap space with a locker room full of guys
00:52like let's
00:53not forget like you kept miles garrett here by telling him you weren't going to rebuild
00:59and boy does this thing smell like a rebuild so there's an element of this of like you know when
01:05i i i understand i've had a complicated situation with miles because the way he went about his trade
01:10request but like just there there's an element of this if you kind of half-ass it or i mentioned
01:17this
01:18early like braxton jones as one of your offensive linemen i get it but if you sign four guys that
01:23fit that criteria and in a year from now you have to replace another four offensive linemen
01:28you can't tell anyone you really tried this offseason yeah and i i don't know i mean listen
01:35we'll see what they do in the next couple weeks and then we can go from there but as of
01:37right now i
01:38just don't get the sense that they're going to be going any sort of big game hunting i think they're
01:42going to try to fill in some of the holes you have to they i mean they have to have
01:46people actually
01:48i'm not i'm not expecting anything uh awesome out of this so nathan zagura was on with the morning
01:52boys and taro today and uh kind of put out his expectations for the browns and free agency
01:59offensively that's where i think you've got to get a little bit more active and i think that you know
02:03you're talking about guys on the offensive line especially the interior of the offensive line i could
02:07see them be active there a second tight end probably more so in the in the blocking you know
02:12charlie kohler who was with baltimore and todd and travis a year ago would make a lot of sense there
02:16to kind of be that compliment to harold fan who now emerges as your number one tight end and
02:21certainly as you know a real pass catching threat julian receiver a year ago i think if they find
02:25the right free agent wide receiver at the right price that's somebody they can look at a guy i like
02:30is taequann thornton that's kind of where i would be looking at it for the browns over the next couple
02:35of days in that free agent market i don't think they're going to be going big on day one with
02:39huge
02:40names i think probably the biggest guy they can get or keep is devon bush so when it comes to
02:45the
02:45offense i i actually do have a pretty clear distinction of what i expect for them and i
02:51expect at least two definitive starting offensive linemen and free agency uh the position i think is
02:57going to matter on who's out there and who actually wants to come in i probably would put another two
03:02bodies meaning like guys who are going to compete for starting jobs also in that vein so whether it's
03:08guys who either didn't work out like a braxton jones like a sean ryan in green bay okay okay so
03:13but i need
03:14two definitive starters two guys that you can look at and go even if like even with like uh tristan
03:19howard we can't say whether it'll be your right tackle right guard or left guard that's gonna be
03:24one of your five what did i say you said tristan titus him too him too but um we're still
03:30learning
03:31names here guys we're still learning it's new i'll say your name right when you earn it no i'm kidding
03:38just mop the floor you keep going to mick robinson that's true that's true yep mike robinson's a great
03:43board up i think and supreme leader um but two definitive starters on the offensive line and likely
03:50two lesser pieces i do need a strong number two tight end and and uh kohler makes a lot of
03:57sense
03:57given that there's the baltimore familiarity and given the fact that i think you know he was kind of
04:02situated as tight end three so it's kind of a promotion for him and or even shooting higher
04:07like an isaiah likely type or something like that yeah the interesting thing will be like the markets
04:10for likely supposed to be all over the place i don't think it's likely isaiah comes here but i could
04:18see if people look at him and are worried about his production last year that's certainly an interesting
04:21name and then beyond that it's to me it's okay what's out there and what comes available yeah i guess
04:28i i
04:28mean i just i feel like it's different because i i know they could deploy a lot of resources that
04:33sounded very analytical and very much like how they speak uh but i know they could and that's the sad
04:38part about this it's not as if i feel like there's some sort of uh i don't know restraint that
04:42the
04:42organization has they could do a lot of things and freeing up all this money obviously gives them way
04:47more flexibility but they like it's there it's open for them it's just whether or not they want to
04:51start taking swings i i don't know what andrew barry is waiting on well he didn't do it last offseason
04:55if he doesn't do it this offseason is he just waiting for one big offseason because you might
04:59not get it if you keep waiting around yeah and i think this idea of because i do think there
05:03are
05:04some people who don't want them to go to kind of pursue big fish because it's like well don't make
05:10yourself any better than you have to be now this offensive this offense is a two-year build at the
05:16minimum it's going to like you need to get to the bare bedrocks of of what your offensive line is
05:23going
05:23to be and then next year is hopefully where you can put the the accent on it with either a
05:28great
05:28quarterback and a great this that or the other right i do think it's interesting that you know
05:33we had previously talked about tyler linderbaum and we've had people on here like zach jackson who
05:38was definitive that that was not going to happen albert breer in his mailbag today said the browns
05:44are one of five teams expected to be right in the fight for tyler linderbaum he also mentions the lions
05:50the bears the chargers and the ravens yeah it's funny because it's a center and it's tough to sell
05:56that as a sexy thing i do think it's a name because it's been in the division that would get
06:00a lot of
06:01interest and a lot of maybe hopes up for the browns fans if you see them sign tyler linderbaum on
06:06monday
06:06i kind of feel like it's the perfect type of signing in many ways uh not only because obviously he's
06:10great
06:10at what he does but the idea that it would help out whatever quarterback is there and then centers do
06:15matter they matter in the equation but he's not gonna he's not gonna change the math completely on
06:19whether or not you're a six win team to then being a nine win team yeah it's interesting because i
06:24would
06:24just be over the moon i think he's a really really good football player and i think he is covered
06:29up
06:30they have not drafted well in that offensive line uh fall ailey might end up being your right guard by
06:35the way so hopefully not but like and they were not a particularly good offensive line last year but
06:40for him to have basically three of the four spots around him the of just not good enough players for
06:46what
06:46we're accustomed to for him to still be in a roughly 80 grade pff i think it was the fourth
06:52best center
06:53grade in the nfl last year tells you how damn good he is and how much he can actually help
06:58you yeah
06:59he's a massive upgrade but the cool thing about it is that he's an upgrade in the way that you
07:03obviously the team becomes better across the board uh but you're like your win-loss projections aren't
07:08going to change a drastic amount and it's like so if they're worried about that it is the type of
07:13move
07:13you can make well but that's well like to me what's good there's a really interesting philosophical
07:17conversation about building this offensive line and paying tyler linderbaum top of the center like
07:23maybe 25 million dollars a year versus where you have luke whipler who i don't know what anybody
07:29thinks about him i thought it was fine last year but maybe not a starter where you already have a
07:33body
07:33that you could throw into a competition versus like a rasheed walker who is a a nice player but maybe
07:40not as good as tyler linderbaum but you really don't have anybody that can play left tackle yeah
07:45just interesting because the way that uh the analytical world looks at this stuff right now
07:48they look at at positions like center as important as they are and like these are the times to get
07:53them and free agency are the times to go after those guys and then you're you want to you want
07:56to get the skill position players and some of the higher paid positions you want to get those in
08:00the draft and so like this would fit the type of mold that it currently exists in the nfl now
08:05i don't
08:05expect both of them but give me one of them no i don't expect linderbaum if we're being honest but
08:10it's nice that we got mentioned i actually think the walker thing might be more likely one feels
08:14very yes that one's on the table but i if you could get me walker and like an elijah vera
08:20tucker
08:20i know he didn't play last year but that would be a kind of a bounce back guy that i
08:25think
08:26like you one of the guys you sign or bring in like howard is a nice offensive lineman he's fine
08:34he's not great like he is i would say like league average right versatility is the best thing he brings
08:38the table and he still wants to be a tackle for some reason but yeah he's fine walker i think
08:42is
08:43better than fine i think he's probably above average but he's not great it would be nice if
08:49one of the three guys or one of the two starters you sign or one of the three you know
08:52main guys
08:53that are maybe penciled into a spot are upper echelon level talent because that would be what
08:59elijah vera tucker brings yeah i mean again they're going to have all sorts of different options for
09:04just kind of fill out the line but linderbaum isn't that linderbaum's not filling out the line
09:07that is a that's a big splash move now do you think he'd come here just for money and money
09:11purposes
09:11alone and and munkin i think munkin relationship with munkin yeah i mean that's i don't know that
09:17that's i think money matters in this conversation i i think a center being able to reset the market
09:21is something that very rarely happens and i i would be surprised if that wasn't the thing driving
09:27tyler because the bears seem like they're ready to just throw in a whole bunch of cash in his
09:31direction so i'm fascinated to find out how that actually works but like the i just i just i keep
09:35thinking about the the comments they just kept making over and over again between him and barry
09:40about how money is going to basically just get them anything they want and i i want to see that
09:43in
09:43action
