00:00hey guys welcome back to the prices once again this is your host and a gamer

00:05and today's that i'm going to be doing a game review all right so today i'm going to be reviewing

00:14a game that is pretty dated by today's standards um even though 2006 isn't that far back

00:22in the techno landscape and you know like game electronic sphere that is a pretty long time ago

00:34i made this game rope trooper right at the straight 30-person shooter with a game developed by

00:40rebellion developments and published by idios interactor idios interactive being my favorite

00:46power show some of my favorite games in the past my knowledge of the past games like this

00:54here this game this game is actually based on a comic right the story and the plot elements

01:02is a comic about basically this plan called nude which is like a plan that's in between like a

01:09sunny black hole and the honest plan you have this this war between this faction called the north and

01:16the shoulders and you have like millions of people dying all these sort of like crazy weapons

01:23being used and they like destroying the planet what happens is that these two factions right the

01:30shoulders they have this sort of crazy genetic engineering going on and they develop this race

01:37of warriors who are like immune to like the crazy atmosphere from all the chemicals and these guys are

01:43like called like called genetic infantry short-term is gi they mean a bunch of toxins diseases diseases and

01:52whatever except for like like one and disorder they command end up like sending out their stuff for like

02:00airborne assault and the next thing you know trader actually betray the secret of the gi's to the north

02:07and they are massacred during the job this is a known as a quartz zone massacre this happened at the

02:13beginning of the game this is where you get introduced to everything rogue is the character you play as he is

02:20the apparent only surviving gi until he meets venus blue jeans who goes like am i here in order to like

02:30track down the trailer general now here's all the crazy aspects of the gi all gi's they possess this one like

02:36biotriple planets have the skull and contains their personal traits their memories their consciousness

02:43you know like this whole like the the continent for the soul sphere or whatever after the gi dies his

02:49biotriple can be inserted in a slot in a other gi's equipment enabling him to control it the biotriple

02:57can be later placed in a new body allowing the fallen gi to be reborn the quotation behind this is

03:05even when we're dead we don't escape for more and it's a pretty interesting facet to these um

03:10the race of these people and you know the two different factions now over that's pretty much so

03:16far the gist of the plot right you know these groups of two races of people they're going at war

03:23and one gets betrayed by this guy who goes rogue and then you have to like go down and

03:28hunt him out all that other shit right there's something of a revenge story you can look at it

03:36in that that frame and it turns out the gameplay here's what will get interesting right the gameplay

03:41is third person shooter where you're like you know your usual suspects the pistol and assault rifle

03:48that's like pretty much the given for all these third person shooters right and it's like that

03:55so at the beginning and but as you go along in the game you can get like more weapons like some crazy

04:02different types of like mortars lasers and such all types of other stuff like even a sniper rifle and

04:09you can customize them by using the sort of like word currency that you get from salvaging stuff so you

04:16can like do a lot of crazy upgrades to like like say your health your or your guns damage

04:24or how much ammo you carry and that's that pretty much gives the game a lot of like you know the

04:30gameplay value a lot to the port you know and i could understand why this game kind of went under the

04:37radar for a lot of people literally i mean it's an old game so um it's kind of hard to like say you know

04:44how it was back then um it's like pretty much mixed to positive in terms of the reception

04:50and i can't see why but i will start with this though with this game being from 2006

04:58it's a dated game so looking at it with you know like through today's lens it might seem a bit unfair

05:06because you know the gameplay is back then different time different hardware such the gameplay is okay

05:13right it's it's pretty much average there's the stuff where you know the level up stuff that you

05:17can do with salvage points and all that other stuff it gives it some pretty good value there

05:23then you have like the interaction between the two main characters you know the gi that you play as

05:28and then you have the gi in the chip that's attached to his equipment i like the banter between those

05:34two guys they really does give the game a bit of personality the graphics in the game and i would

05:40say it was pretty average for 2006 game there's not really that much in the graphics to look forward to

05:48i'm pretty sure several games from 2006 had much better graphics than this the sound design was pretty

05:57good i like the atmosphere and everything with the music and such in fact i'd say that's probably the

06:04strongest suit in terms of the technical aspects of the game the sound design the plot however you

06:10know the whole story right where is all the stuff that's happening which like i said you know it's based

06:16on a comic i haven't read the comic though but if you guys want you can like check out the comic and

06:23match it up to see how you know it the game handles its story which you know the game is based on that

06:30but the story itself from the way it's portrayed in the game it's pretty okay actually um it's nothing

06:38too much um i will say you know the stuff with the factions and like these different groups of people

06:45and you know there's so much stuff going on i really like was interested in that whole aspect

06:53like i think they could have like done a bit more to explore that like from like a political standpoint

06:59they could probably made it a lot more interesting exploring like the ideologies between these two

07:05factions dwell more to the history among them and they do actually do a little bit of like backstory to

07:12them a bit but i think they could have done a lot more to like flesh it out and like make it a lot more

07:18interesting than it actually was you know instead of just like make it like a setup this is what happens

07:26and then all it just happens like pretty much sort of revenge plot and you know it's like the end

07:35results like a pretty average game average gameplay shooter ish there you know it doesn't really get that

07:43deep and i personally find it could have gotten there had they like did a bit more deeper dives

07:50exploration into like more of the history behind these things you know there's there's a lot more

07:55there that they deserve that they could have like explored and make it more interesting especially you

08:02know like if they like told like the past stuff about these things like how did these guys develop this

08:07subject knowledge that allows them to store subconsciousness and these you know like people's

08:16personalities and such into this chip after they died and being able to put on these equipment and

08:22like other weapons where they can take control of it or better yet they can put into other people's

08:28bodies and take control of a dead body that sounds incredible you know there's i think they could have

08:36done like stuff where they showcase like how they develop all that or like show like more of these

08:44spasks with these you know other races and how they evolve over time and what happened to them that

08:51they become like this sort of big wall you know and i get what some of you guys might be thinking

08:58you know if you want to get all that other stuff you're gonna have to read the comics to get more of the

09:04story and yes i get it i may actually look into the comics but in terms of the game i came with you

09:14you want to be able to look at this and say okay this is how it is and such look at it from just a

09:20game alone i think they could have done a bit more with the story not saying it's bad you know it's just

09:27you know like average i think that it could have been like really good if they had they like

09:32explored more into it the one word to describe this game perfectly is pretty average slightly above

09:39average does seem like a negative to a lot of people hearing that something's average especially

09:44when you look at it the whole fact that like video games they are much more critical in terms of like

09:51reviewing and movies because of the other technical aspect surrounding games and to say an average game

09:59a game is average is much different than cna movies average the one thing about this game that really

10:05created my gears other than the story not living up to its potential is the whole ending all right now

10:13if you've played any game ever you know there's one stuff that happens in the ending like especially

10:19games like this would have like a narrative that takes place and this this backstory that and such

10:25you have the ending that's pretty much like okay this happens and then like you know my italica cutscene

10:33or something and then you get like the ending credits and whatnot however with this game and i don't

10:43really want to spoil it i feel like this might be a spoiler but i just found it really quite in my

10:50guess i have to mention it because it really did like curb my you know enjoyment for the game way

10:56down than what it already was after you complete like the final mission the game cuts up and then

11:03that's pretty much it you know you don't get no cut scene don't get no like end credits roll or anything

11:09like that you don't really get anything of a sort like the game just just ends like i don't know like

11:16if you're like unlike watching a movie for example you're on the ending and say this happens and then

11:24boom after it happens it cuts to black and that's going to end it you don't get like no anything after

11:32the final act you don't get no end credits roll nothing i mean when you see that in a movie you'll be

11:39like what what the you you know you'd question like it would seem like something was cut out left on

11:44the editing room floor like that that's there's no way a movie would actually get away with doing

11:50that right but in this game this game basically does that um it's after the ending and i know some

11:57of you guys are thinking it's not about the ending it's about the journey to the ending and and i get

12:03that part actually i agree with that part but in this case this cannot be a journey if there is no ending

12:09when you know after like the boss battle just cuts and that's it like it's like what it just comes

12:15off as anti-climatic in a sense um especially like from my perspective when i've been playing all

12:22these other games like dying light the call of duty games and all these other like narrative games where

12:28they you know there's a lot of action stuff and there's a journey that takes place but the ones that

12:33they all have in common at the ending after like their boss battle their last level you have like

12:39a cut scene of the sort or something after the the last boat and then you have like your

12:45end credits roll that's i mean that's that basically how you do that it's like a professional way to

12:51end your game in here this game doesn't have that and i really found that to be really anti-climatic and

12:59very disappointing and man this game was already pretty average for me overall i'd have to give this

13:06a three out of five you know it's very average like i said earlier average is the best word to describe

13:16this game if it wasn't for the ending or lack of ending actually it it probably would have been bumped up

13:25to like a three and a half stars or maybe one of four stars you know that's how much of a date that

13:37part of the ending is for me you know i may not be that big of a deal as other people but it is

13:42for me to impact the review the rating that much three stars where i could be like average

13:51and such for me but yeah that's pretty much it where i'd say for it you know so anyways guys i'm rogue

14:01trooper right a science fiction you know third person shooter game pretty fair game there's nothing like

14:10super spectacular standing out that that really like changes the genre you know it's kind of sadly

14:18saying that but it is what it is right but it's a game that i have been like played for like quite a

14:24while and there's something i really want to like you to talk about but that's my perspective on the
