00:00Previously on Project Runway Junior,
00:03each of you will be designing a six-look collection
00:06to show during New York Fashion Week.
00:08This is insane.
00:10Let's go down to the runway for our preview.
00:14Wait, you're going to go up here?
00:15No, no, no, no.
00:16I think that this dress is not flattering.
00:19You've got to be careful,
00:20because white does not leave room for error anywhere.
00:23You're finishing. It's got to be perfect.
00:25If it doesn't, it's going to kill me.
00:26Just got to do some things.
00:28So much work to do.
00:29The pressure is on.
00:46The next two days are going to be very intense,
00:49because there's a lot to do.
00:51It's anyone's game.
00:52You just have to adjust your ambitions,
00:55and that may involve getting rid of something.
00:58Let me tell you something right now.
01:02We are going to Mood in the morning.
01:04Yay!
01:05Oh, my gosh, thank you.
01:06Wait, we have no money.
01:07Yes, you do.
01:08Yay! We get to go to Mood.
01:10We get to go to Mood.
01:12You have $250 budget, so you should be thinking about what it is you want to purchase at Mood.
01:19I feel like I have a huge chance to win this competition.
01:21But it's a lot of work that I have to do myself just to get to that point.
01:26This is the challenge that determines who wins.
01:30And I really want to win.
01:32I really want to.
01:33Oh, my gosh.
01:35All right, designers, you have your $250 budget.
01:43All right.
01:44And you have 30 minutes to shop.
01:46Okay, your time starts now.
01:48Off they go.
01:53That's not good enough.
01:55How much is this per piece?
01:57I know that I want to redo the orange dress, so I know I have to get a lot of new brown leather.
02:04This yellow fabric is pretty close to the yellow that's in my floral fabric, which is just what I was looking for.
02:10This is sateen, but it's matte.
02:12It won't be heavy.
02:14Even though the fabric's light, I can fuse it to a heavier weight fabric, so that way it'll make the fabric more stiff.
02:19Designers, time is up.
02:21All right, designers, let's head back to the work room.
02:24Thank you, Mood.
02:25There you go.
02:26Goodbye, swatch.
02:32We're back.
02:34I have so much work to do.
02:35I hate this mess.
02:37I'm actually feeling very unorganized for the first time because I have this new color fabric and I have all this stuff that I have to get finished.
02:45I just wish that I could organize myself first, but I don't have time for that.
02:49Good heavens.
02:50How is everyone?
02:51Good.
02:52All right.
02:53I'm here to check in with you.
02:54I know that something Christian was kind of talking about.
02:55He kind of wished that there was like more of a pop of color and he said maybe replacing the floral, but I know that I have too much floral to replace it.
03:09This has such a strong feeling of Japanese wood blocks.
03:12Yes.
03:13You have to own it.
03:14I have the greatest respect for Christian, but if you throw this in, I don't know where you'd put it.
03:19You have to own what you have.
03:22Okay.
03:23I'm kind of happy that he tells me to scrap it.
03:26I'm definitely owning that this is evening wear.
03:28All right.
03:29Thank you, Maya.
03:30Thank you, Tim.
03:31How's Zachary?
03:32I'm good.
03:33All right.
03:34Talk to me about what's happened to the finale piece.
03:37Okay.
03:38So it is a skirt and a top now.
03:39Good.
03:40And so my whole debate now is remove all the flowers because there's not enough flowers or add 5,000 flowers.
03:49You don't have time to add 5,000 flowers.
03:51I know.
03:52All right, Zachary.
03:55How's the painting?
03:56I'm doing pretty good.
03:57After once I put the orange dress on my model, I realized that it didn't look as good in the model as it did in my head.
04:04And so I just thought to rethink the whole design.
04:07Can I tell you something?
04:08Yeah.
04:09This is so much more you.
04:11Yeah.
04:12That other garment baffled me.
04:14This is you.
04:15I'm feeling so relieved, but I'm very nervous about time.
04:18I still got, you know, a lot that I have to do.
04:22Petey, work, work.
04:23Okay.
04:24Thank you so much.
04:26Samantha, I love the red.
04:28I know.
04:29I love it, too.
04:30Well, you know the really wonderful thing?
04:31Look how the colors you already had.
04:34Look how it now pops.
04:36Carry on, Samantha.
04:37Thank you so much.
04:38Work, work, work.
04:41All right, designers.
04:42I want you to know I am so thrilled with what the four of you are achieving.
04:45You have less than an hour remaining today.
04:48All right?
04:49Don't relax.
04:50It's New York Fashion Week.
04:52Oh, my God.
04:53And your models will be in for fittings tomorrow morning.
04:56So work, work, and I'll see you in the morning.
04:59Okay?
05:01Love you guys.
05:02See you later.
05:03Ugh.
05:05It's so crazy to think that this is so up in the air.
05:09I know that I have what it takes to win, but everybody else does, too.
05:14Oh, my God.
05:15Bye.
05:16Bye.
05:17Oh.
05:26Hello.
05:27Hi, Zachary.
05:29Hi, I'm Katie.
05:30Congratulations.
05:31Thank you so much.
05:32You are?
05:33Yeah.
05:34Hey, I'm Lacey.
05:35You're Lacey.
05:36It's nice to meet you.
05:37Hi, boys.
05:38It's going to be out of this fabric.
05:40Oh, you like it?
05:41All right, good.
05:42It definitely worries me that it is fitting time, and I don't have several pieces ready,
05:47because this is the only model fitting that we get.
05:50So you are going to be wearing this with this bodice and these pants.
05:57Good.
05:58I am feeling pretty good about it.
06:00You know, I feel like everything's starting to come together.
06:03You know, I'm seeing all my models in my clothes.
06:05Most of them fit great.
06:07Oh, my gosh.
06:08You look gorgeous in this.
06:09Here.
06:10Let me do this really fast.
06:11I'm finally starting to see the vision in my final collection and starting to get really
06:15excited about it.
06:16So, Jasmine, I'm actually going to have you try on something else if you want to come home.
06:19My collection is not what I was expecting when I put it on my models.
06:22I'm not going to lie.
06:23It kind of fits horrible.
06:25I didn't realize how long some of my models' torsos were.
06:28So, some of these shirts that were supposed to be tucked into waistbands are now crop tops,
06:32and I don't have fabric to remake them.
06:34Why don't you take it and jump the top?
06:37My mermaid dress has a lot of issues on top, and I knew that was going to happen.
06:42I definitely think that I'm kind of in the worst shape out of everybody.
06:47Bye.
06:49Bye, Jen.
06:50Bye.
06:51See you Friday.
06:52Thanks.
06:53I have a lot of work to do.
07:01Are you serious?
07:02We're taking a selfie Polaroid.
07:04Let's go.
07:05You ready?
07:06Ready?
07:07We're really going to miss the workroom and each other, and it's going to get so hectic
07:11tomorrow that I'm glad we're doing this now.
07:13All right.
07:14Let's go.
07:15The whole thing is starting to feel real.
07:16I mean, this is going to happen tomorrow, and super nervous, but at the same time, I'm
07:21feeling ready.
07:22All right, guys.
07:23Let's go.
07:24Play bye to the studio.
07:25We've been preparing for this, and now it's here, and it's incredible and exciting.
07:30Bye, workers.
07:31This is the first time she's ever been in this garment.
07:35Okay, so we're all my models.
07:58Can you just walk out?
08:02I got 10 minutes.
08:09I'm sorry.
08:11We have, like, no time.
08:27We have to.
08:29Does anyone have the tape?
08:30No.
08:31This is bothering me, like, crazy.
08:34Oh, my God.
08:35Oh, I'm so sorry.
08:36Let me just keep on sewing.
08:37You know how to sew?
08:39Not really.
08:40This is crazy.
08:41Like, I don't know how to do this.
08:44Designers, you have five minutes remaining.
08:46Where are the rest of the models?
08:48All right, everyone, let's head off to the runway.
08:54The winner of Project Runway Junior will receive
08:56a full scholarship to the prestigious FIDM in California,
09:00a complete home sewing and crafting studio
09:02provided by Brother, a feature in Seventeen magazine,
09:06and a $25,000 cash prize to help launch their lives.
09:23Hello, everyone.
09:24We have very talented designers backstage.
09:28They're only teenagers.
09:29It's hard to believe.
09:30And they're already here at New York Fashion Week.
09:33So we're very proud of them.
09:39Let's say hello to our wonderful judges.
09:42Christian Siriano.
09:46Miss Kelly Osborne.
09:51Aya Kanai.
09:52And our guest judge, Bella Thorne.
10:02All right.
10:03Let's get this show on the road.
10:05Hi, everyone.
10:18I want to say thank you to my family for mom, dad.
10:22Oh, my gosh.
10:24You guys have been so much of a big help through this,
10:27and I just, I couldn't be more grateful.
10:29My collection is inspired by a female warrior in a field of flowers.
10:35So I really hope you like it.
10:37Thank you so much.
10:38Thank you so much.
10:40I'll see you next time.
11:20This is insane.
11:22Yeah.
11:24Insane and real all at the same time.
11:26To know that so many hours and so many different emotions went into this and just to see it all come together is an amazing feeling.
11:36This is a great show. I'm really proud of myself.
11:50I'm just really hoping that the judges see my aesthetic and see me in this collection because I know that I've kind of jumped all over the place with who I am as a designer throughout the whole competition.
12:18So I'm really hoping that they can say, yes, this is Maya and this is who she is.
12:37Okay, Samantha.
12:38Oops.
12:39I am so proud of myself in so many different ways.
12:44I am so proud of myself in so many different ways.
12:59This collection is definitely ready to walk the runway.
13:04There's a lot of people here.
13:14I just want to say, first off, thank you so much.
13:17I'm going to start crying.
13:18I'm such a cheese ball.
13:19Thank you so much to my family, my mom, for being with me
13:22throughout this whole opportunity.
13:25My parents, I can't even get a speech through.
13:28I just want to say my collection was inspired
13:31by a mixture of menswear and military tactical uniforms.
13:35So hopefully you guys will like it.
13:36Thank you so much.
13:37Enjoy the show.
13:44In that moment, it hits me that this is finally happening,
13:52and I'm here to witness it.
13:54And I made each and every one of those pieces with my signature,
13:58and that's something to be proud of.
14:16Yeah, the red's wonderful.
14:18I love that one.
14:19I love that one.
14:48Bye.
14:55Bye.
14:58Bye.
14:59Nice to meet you.
15:12Bye.
15:13Bye.
15:14Bye.
15:14Bye.
15:16you've not done out of the park you did oh please I'm just so I'm honored to be in your presence
15:27seeing all six looks it was like oh my god I never would have thought that at my age 16
15:35I would have this opportunity to do this
15:46who would have thought like I would be here at New York Fashion Week presenting I'm just in awe
16:07there's just this rush of energy and I'm so nervous but it's a good kind of nervous and I have no idea
16:15what I'm gonna say so hopefully I'll just wing it really nicely
16:19hello thank you guys so much oh my gosh this is like such a surreal experience I feel like I'm
16:30dreaming and it has been like that since day one and I just want to thank my amazing family
16:37you guys are my everything I just cannot imagine a better start to my fashion career
16:44this collection was inspired by really the duality in the world and I looked at harder
16:50elements and contrasted them and made softer more feminine pieces I really hope you love it so thank
16:57thank you
17:34I really hope the judges respond well to how big of a risk I took.
17:43I've never done something this soft and this light and airy.
17:47I've always wanted to do something more structural and hard and sophisticated.
17:52So this is definitely a stretch for me.
17:54You're so right about that print. It just brings everything together.
17:57It really does.
18:04I love it.
18:26Who knows who's going to win, but I definitely think that I have what it takes to take home the Project Runway Junior Prize.
18:56I don't want to compare my collection to other collections because I feel like that this is the most me.
19:08Whether or not the judges like it, I feel very proud of it and very excited about it.
19:13So I do think I have a chance to win.
19:14Hello, guys.
19:22So I'm Katie, and before we start the show, I want to thank a few people.
19:26For one, I want to thank my little sister Zoe for being a huge help in this collection.
19:30And I also want to thank my dad for always supporting me every step of the way.
19:36I want to thank my mom.
19:38I couldn't have gotten here without you.
19:39It's amazing.
19:40For this collection, I was inspired by travel and different cultures around the world.
19:46So I hope you all enjoy.
19:50Watching my collection down the runway and getting the goosebumps, you know, it's everything that I imagined.
20:18And it's so crazy.
20:20I'm so fortunate to be here.
20:48Oh, my gosh.
21:10Yes, Charlotte.
21:11Beautiful.
21:12Looking back and just seeing how much progress I've made in a few months and like where I
21:23used to be and where I am now, I just can't believe that this is my life.
21:28I'm a 15 year old designer, I'm showing a collection during New York Fashion Week and
21:33I'm on Project Romaine Junior.
21:36It's really cool.
21:42It's really cool.
21:49You're a 15 year old designer.
21:51You're a 15 year old designer.
21:56It's really cool.
21:59It's good to see you.
22:03It's really cool.
22:09I love you guys.
22:14To be a teenager and show up in New York Fashion Week is just unbelievable.
22:18Hi.
22:19I'm so proud of you.
22:21I love Petey's collection.
22:23I love that she was able to mix patterns and colors and I love the fringe that she used.
22:28It was very strong.
22:29I loved it.
22:30It was powerful.
22:31I'm so proud of you.
22:33Oh my god.
22:34My girl Samantha, she'd take home the win.
22:35I really feel like she pushed herself on this and I saw a new side of Samantha.
22:38That I haven't seen before.
22:40I miss you guys so much.
22:42I think it's going to be between Samantha and Maya.
22:46Samantha was very her style, but she kind of upped it.
22:50And then Maya's theme, you're like, oh my gosh, this is amazing.
22:54Why haven't I thought of this?
22:55Zachary's dresses, I would totally wear this.
22:58They were so stunning, so well put together.
23:01I cannot imagine how he's able to do that with the experience that he has.
23:05I'm really, really impressed.
23:12Welcome back to The Runway.
23:13How was it showing during New York Fashion Week?
23:16Amazing.
23:17Crazy.
23:18Well, designers, that was a fabulous fashion show.
23:22But as you know, only one of you can be the winner of the first ever Project Runway Junior.
23:27Oh, wow.
23:28That's happening.
23:29One of you will take home an amazing prize package today, including a scholarship to FIDM and $25,000 to start your line.
23:39Crazy.
23:40All right, let's say hello to our judges.
23:43First, we have fashion designer, Christian Siriano.
23:46Congrats, guys.
23:47I just showed in this venue two days ago, and you guys gave me a run for my money.
23:52You guys really fit right in.
23:54Fashion critic and fashion designer, Kelly Osborne.
23:57I just have to say that being a part of your journey has, hands down, been one of the most beautiful experiences of my life.
24:04And I am so proud of each and every one of you.
24:08Fashion editor for Cosmopolitan and Seventeen magazine, Aya Kanai.
24:13Not only were your collections so inspiring to watch, but I think it was really wonderful that each one of you thanked your families, because they have done so much for you.
24:26And we are super excited about our special guest judge, actress and author, Bella Thorne.
24:32Hi, guys.
24:33I'm Bella.
24:34Your pieces walked down this runway, and I turned and I was like, wait, how old are they again?
24:38Like, I can't believe it.
24:39I give you guys props for having a dream and really seeing it through.
24:44Before we decide who wins Project Runway Junior, we have some questions for you.
24:51Pady, we're going to start with you.
24:53Let's bring out your model.
24:59Pady, tell us about your inspiration and your collection.
25:02So as you know, my collection is, it's Bye Bye Travel.
25:05You know, like all the stamps that my girl's passport has.
25:08When I took a fabric, I didn't want to leave the fabric as is.
25:11I wanted to transform it and do something different with it.
25:14And so like I did that same with my little sister hand painting everything.
25:17And I just wanted everything to feel really unique.
25:20That orange dress that I showed you before, it totally didn't turn out the way I thought it would.
25:25So I made that one that you saw that had the hand painting down the front.
25:30I think your stenciling obviously that you and your sister did are the highlights of this story.
25:35I think that workmanship is unreal and gorgeous.
25:39I think this bodice is so beautiful.
25:41I love the cascading, beading.
25:43Your techniques are really astounding.
25:45Watching you grow and beat the surfer chick from high school that's going to prove everyone wrong and be a fashionista.
25:51I mean, you did it.
25:53Your girl is irreverent and fun.
25:56Also, even though your looks have an experimental element to them, your models always look like they're perfectly at home wearing them.
26:05My favorite was the one with the little skirt and the mirrors.
26:09The really small stuff you do is very important because I think small detail goes a long way.
26:14You definitely had a few fit issues in some of your pieces, but I feel like you've really honed in on what you're good at.
26:22And I feel like you've really blossomed.
26:25Thank you so much.
26:27Zachary, tell us about your inspiration and your collection.
26:30I looked at photos of, you know, crystal structures and all these different, like, really hard elements, and I kind of took a softer approach to them.
26:39A lot of my looks consist of lighter, blushy tones that are contrasted with this very thick black fabric.
26:47I think your evening pant looks are always, to me, the most successful of your looks.
26:54Those had a more modern flavor than some of the gowns.
26:58The big dress that you brought to our critique, you added that black belt.
27:03I thought that was such a wise choice because I feel like it really made that dress younger.
27:08I did love that your collection looked a lot more youthful than I had expected.
27:15I actually really loved that black trumpet gown.
27:18I loved, you know, the kind of applique at the shoulder, and I think that that was a really beautiful piece that I'll remember.
27:23I still don't love this, the color palette, and I think that that is my biggest concern here.
27:28I got the juxtaposition between, like, rough edges and soft, fine femininity, and even in your first piece you can see that.
27:37Even though it's a quilted fabric.
27:39It's actually straw.
27:40It's straw?
27:41It's straw.
27:42It's straw.
27:43Wow, it looks quilted.
27:44Yeah, it's a woven straw.
27:45Oh, my God, I like that.
27:46Now, this has made it even more amazing because that's really tough to give it such a feminine fluidity like you have if you're working with straw.
27:53Wow.
27:54I know how well.
27:56My favorite was the purple with the little pretty underneath, that little slit thingy.
28:02I don't know what that is.
28:03Yeah, it was more of this fabric, actually.
28:05Your collection was probably my favorite.
28:09Thank you, Zachary.
28:12Samantha, tell us about your inspiration and your collection.
28:15I was inspired by tactical military uniforms, but I wanted to make it really more feminine.
28:22If I wouldn't have taken your guys' advice of, hey, add a little color, you know, really push yourself, I feel like I wouldn't have had the outcome that I had for this collection.
28:30And I feel like this is a prime example of how good, you know, my listening skills are and how much I want to progress.
28:35The way that you have such a strong push and pull between masculine and feminine, that's what makes your customer and your woman so cool.
28:44She's jumping on the subway, she's not taking a car service.
28:47You know that I have always just been simply obsessed with your design aesthetic of mixing and androgyny and feminism.
28:54And we've always been honoring you about color, and we've always been honoring you about skirt, and we've always been honoring you about dresses.
28:59And today you gave us everything that we have ever asked of you.
29:02And the implementing of the red just took it up to a whole new level.
29:07Now you're showing us that you can do other things, like that little aqua dress.
29:11There's pieces that I feel like everyone can find something in your collection, whereas before I thought it was just a specific type of girl.
29:19I'm like floored, I have to say.
29:21I like that you're not too feminine, that you like, you know, the masculine types of things, because that's, that's what I like.
29:27And I don't think every girl only wears dresses, so I really appreciate your tomboy side, for sure.
29:32I thought it was a really great show.
29:35I felt just very put together, the hair, the makeup, the jewelry, the accessories, how you styled each girl.
29:39I think you did a great job.
29:40Samantha, thank you so much.
29:43Maya, tell us about your inspiration and your collection.
29:48My inspiration was a female warrior standing in a field of yellow flowers.
29:54It also has a bit of Japanese style into it with the thick though and some of the sleeve shapes.
30:01Also, I just decided to own the fact that lately I just have loved creating evening wear, and that's what I wanted this collection to show.
30:10One of the things I was genuinely worried about when I knew you were in the final was, what is Maya's design aesthetic?
30:17But today, I saw the real designer in you.
30:22And I looked at all of your edges, I looked at all of your darts, I looked at all of your hemlines, and they were very well cut and very well sewn and very clean.
30:32My favorite look is that, that waffle pant was so fabulous.
30:36Oh, the pants, we didn't even talk about them.
30:38That pant was so major.
30:40I just thought it was really, really cool.
30:43And can she turn?
30:44I just want to see the back.
30:46It's so subtle, but really beautiful.
30:48Yeah.
30:49The back of this piece, it fits and looks beautiful.
30:52I do wish there was more color.
30:54That was my one kind of thing.
30:56I was trying to add it, but it didn't work.
30:58But then I'm like, you know what?
30:59I'll own the black and white and baby steps of color.
31:02My favorite is definitely the pants look with the sleeves.
31:06I would have totally worn it.
31:07I liked that the zipper, instead of being in the middle, was off to the side.
31:11I thought that that was a little bit more interesting.
31:13But I think your piece that should have been your wow moment was this skirt that was see-through
31:18in the middle.
31:19That was really well done.
31:21It's fun to watch you, because before you were sort of like this mixed bag, where every
31:26challenge I'd say, wow, that was amazing, but it was nothing like the challenge before.
31:31Yeah.
31:32And I was just interested to see how you were going to do a collection, because they all
31:37have to somehow tell this story.
31:40And you did it.
31:41Your looks often have this like 360 degree appeal.
31:46It's great that you always are thinking about every angle at which your looks are going
31:50to be seen.
31:51Great job, Maya.
31:53Thank you so much.
31:54Thank you so much.
31:55Thank you so much for the time we want.
31:56Designers, we have a very hard decision to make.
31:59And I want to say, on behalf of all of the judges, thank you for letting us go on this
32:04journey with you.
32:05The future of fashion is in great hands.
32:07You all can leave the runway.
32:12All right, we have a very big decision.
32:21What do we do?
32:22Let's start with Zachary.
32:25To be honest, I love his design.
32:28His pieces are out there.
32:29They're interesting.
32:30Yes, they are a bit older, but I feel like he has so much room to grow.
32:34I agree.
32:34He's so talented.
32:36He did so well in the show in the beginning, and then I think he lost himself.
32:39Then I think he found himself.
32:41He's been doing that this whole season.
32:42All season, though.
32:43Yeah.
32:43He says, but you know that he second-guessed himself, and my fear is that it's not the garments,
32:48because the garments go day to night very well.
32:50Yeah.
32:51It's the way that he has decided to put them together as a whole.
32:55But I just felt like each individual look separately, I wasn't floored by any of that.
33:02I really loved Zachary from the first day.
33:05I appreciate his intelligence and his knowledge about the history of fashion.
33:10Me too.
33:10Yeah.
33:10He is a better tailor than most of the designers, but will he be able to have someone like Bella
33:16Thorne wearing his gown on the red carpet?
33:19Let's move on to Samantha.
33:21I'm so proud of her, I have to say.
33:25We all love her.
33:26I'm so proud of her.
33:27I know that she didn't give us a ball gown.
33:29I know that she didn't give us an incredible tattoo.
33:30But that's not her thing.
33:31But she gave us what we asked for in her way.
33:34And that's the thing, Samantha.
33:36Came in with this very strong point of view.
33:40Yeah.
33:40I mean, it was very realized.
33:43So to watch her stand here today and talk about how much she's changed is really exciting.
33:49The fact is, she listened to every single thing we said.
33:52She implemented color.
33:53She put a pencil skirt in there.
33:55I mean, she made a little mini dress.
33:57I loved it.
33:57I know.
33:57I always loved her design aesthetic.
34:00But like I said in my critique, I would have never chose anything that she's ever made to wear.
34:05Yeah.
34:05Until today.
34:06I pose this one question.
34:07Is that all she has to give?
34:10Because that's all she's ever shown us.
34:11She did show us that jacket like 10 times.
34:14But she gave us way more today than she's given us all.
34:16Because we pushed it.
34:18One of the things that I was really trying to get out of her in the critique was that,
34:23please don't make it all about these pockets.
34:26But show us Samantha 2.0.
34:29You really have to progress each time.
34:32It would have been so much better if she'd kept doing it like this whole entire time.
34:36And then came out with like a really cool piece that you guys never saw her doing.
34:41Well, she did with the pencil skirt and the dress, I have to say.
34:44Right, that one really strong look.
34:46Yeah, you know that she was good.
34:48But I didn't know if she could be this good.
34:52That's my feeling with Patey.
34:55Nobody was into Patey.
34:57You were ready to send her home like three times.
34:58I remember that one challenge that I wanted her to go home.
35:01I remember too.
35:02I'm so happy that you've really fought so hard for her.
35:04Every single week, she made me change my mind.
35:09Yeah.
35:09She plays with her fabric.
35:10She adds things to her fabrics like mirrors and different beading and the color.
35:14Absolutely, and I do think that when you talk about the way that Patey layered things,
35:19like she had fringe, she would have beading, she would have tapestry fabric basically.
35:25It could have been a hot mess.
35:26It could have been crazy.
35:28But she made it make sense.
35:29Exactly.
35:30It's like there were like seven things going on in there and Shiloh just stood there and
35:35looked like a goddess.
35:37This finale gown was so beautiful.
35:39It's beautiful.
35:39So much better.
35:40Stunning.
35:41And you see how she graduated from the beadwork into the dress and then the different fabric
35:46from the top.
35:46Overall, I did like it, but you know what?
35:48It wasn't my favorite.
35:49It didn't really, it didn't really say anything to me.
35:52The gold shift dress is what you're talking about, right?
35:54Yeah, yeah, yeah.
35:55Even if you're wearing a shift dress, you still want your body to look good.
35:58And I just felt like that one was just, it didn't, yeah, it didn't get it.
36:03Yeah.
36:04Okay, let's talk about Maya.
36:07Ugh.
36:08She's so talented.
36:10I just, I can't believe where she stands here and she looks at us like, I just made it.
36:16It's really amazing though, these harnesses, how they fit and how she would wrap the body
36:20and like how, how the capes overlaid.
36:23I want to see how she's made some of these things.
36:25That girl is a genius.
36:29Yeah, I agree.
36:30I'm like 50, 50.
36:32I either loved a look like those pants that almost look caged.
36:36Oh, I think we all love that.
36:37Oh my God, that's so fabulous.
36:38It was beautiful.
36:39Like I want Hannah to wear it right now.
36:41Unreal.
36:42Obsessed.
36:42I loved some of the back detailing in a lot of her looks, but those sheer capes.
36:50You didn't like them?
36:51Eh.
36:51I do see what you're saying as in the cape is very weird with the mini dress.
36:56Although I did like it when it was on the runway, I thought it was really pretty.
37:00I think it's just more for a runway.
37:02Exactly.
37:03Yeah, but at the same time, like let's remember that her story was about these fashion forward superheroes.
37:11Yeah.
37:12I think that the part of her story that maybe all of us trip up on is the field of yellow flowers.
37:17That's my, that's my thing.
37:18And I think that she could have just dropped that.
37:19Because they were more like gray, dirty flowers.
37:21I didn't see her story translate into the runway.
37:24There's no field of yellow flowers.
37:26I had looks that I loved and then looks that didn't wow me.
37:31Yeah.
37:32Okay, do we have a winner?
37:33Do you guys have any idea?
37:34I have no idea.
37:37What is going on here?
37:39Ugh, it's so hard.
37:40I have an idea who I think should wear.
37:42I do.
37:45Okay, do we agree?
37:46Okay, let's bring them back out.
38:01Designers, one of you will be the winner of Project Runway Jr.
38:06Zachary, unfortunately, you are not the winner of Project Runway Jr.
38:12We're all so different that we knew it was going to be hard.
38:20Thank you so much.
38:21Oh.
38:24Love you, Zachary.
38:25Love you.
38:26Love the collection.
38:27Love all of you.
38:28I, of course, am disappointed.
38:30It's kind of a sad end to a really amazing time here.
38:34But it's been so great to just show during New York Fashion Week.
38:39It went good.
38:40It was a good show.
38:41Good job.
38:42The future is full of possibilities.
38:47Patey.
38:53I'm sorry you are not the winner of Project Runway Jr.
38:57Okay, thank you guys.
38:58Oh boy, did you wow us.
39:00Thank you guys so much for everything.
39:02I mean, it's been a crazy experience and I'm glad I could share with you guys.
39:06Bye, Patey.
39:12Bye, Patey.
39:13Bye, Patey.
39:14Bye, guys.
39:16Love you, girl.
39:17Bye, Patey.
39:18Thank you all so much.
39:19Bye, Patey.
39:20Bye, Patey.
39:21We'll see you at the beach.
39:22Maybe if I didn't win, I'm so happy with everything.
39:25I have no regrets about my collection, so that's all that matters.
39:29Love you so much.
39:30Love you so much.
39:31You're the strongest person I know.
39:33Maya, Samantha, one of you will be the winner of Project Runway Jr.
39:42Maya, you make the most technically difficult designs look flawless and effortless.
39:49Your collection was filled with wow moments.
39:53We finally know who you are as a designer and we love it.
39:58Samantha, we feel like you took some risks today.
40:02And really did an amazing job adding femininity to your designs.
40:08Your girl is undeniably cool and fashion forward.
40:19Maya.
40:25Congratulations.
40:26You are the winner of Project Runway Jr.
40:28No, wait.
40:30No.
40:30No, you're kidding.
40:38Oh, my God.
40:38We're not kidding.
40:41I did not expect that at all.
40:44Let it out go.
40:45Let it out go.
40:46Let it out go.
40:46Let it out go.
40:47Let it out go.
40:48Let it out go.
40:48Let it out go.
40:49Let it out go.
40:50Samantha, it was a close second, let me tell you.
40:54It's such a wonderful experience.
40:56I mean, I can't be any more happy than I am right now.
40:58You're amazing.
41:00I'm so, so proud of you.
41:02Thank you so much.
41:04I'm so proud of you, Maya.
41:05I'm so proud of you.
41:05Thank you so much for this guy.
41:06Project Runway Jr. is probably one of the craziest things I've ever done in my life.
41:11I've cried. I've been angry. I've been happy. I've been sad
41:17Going through all those emotions and knowing that I was still able to stay true to myself
41:23What an experience nothing can top this
41:27We are so proud of you Maya
41:33Maya you are
41:35Incredible you are amazing you were born to do this never doubt yourself
41:39And we all love you so much
41:42Congratulations. Thank you so much. I have loved your work from the very beginning and I'm really really happy that you get to take it today
41:49I think that the most
41:51important thing that we can get out of this show because let's all remember you are still 14 is that I
41:58Am so excited by the confidence that has grown in you because that's really what matters
42:04I feel so grateful and I can't express it in words. It's just
42:09An unbelievable feeling so thank you guys. Well, we have some people backstage that I think are dying to congratulate you
42:16So let's bring out your family
42:18Oh my gosh
42:20Oh my gosh
42:26I just want Project Runway Junior like falling out of my chair. This is crazy
42:32You deserve it
42:34So proud of you
42:36Thank you guys
42:37She has worked so hard and it's so nice to see the payoff in the end
42:44Well, we have one last person that wants to say congratulations
42:48Maya
42:50Congratulations
42:52How thrilling is this?
42:54And you're our baby
42:57In my opinion, it doesn't matter if you're eight or you're 98 you can do
43:01Absolutely anything you set your mind to and I think that me winning Project Runway Junior really showed that
43:08I swear I'm like pinching myself
43:10Like congratulations. Let's get out of here. Let's go
43:14I'm the youngest one in the competition and hey, I just won so I think that it just shows that if you set your mind to it
43:22You set your heart to it
