00:17When a wicked person turns from the wickedness he has committed, and does what is just and right, he will
00:26preserve his life.
00:30For I am aware of my rebellious acts, I am forever conscious of my sin.
00:39Hide your face from my sins, wipe away all my guilt.
00:47The sacrifices God desires are a humble spirit, O God, a humble and repentant heart you will not reject.
01:01Dearly beloved brothers and sisters, the scripture moves us in sundry places to acknowledge and confess our many sins and
01:10wickedness.
01:12We should not justify nor hide them before the face of Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, but confess them with
01:20a humble, lowly, penitent and obedient heart.
01:24To the end that we may obtain forgiveness of the same, by his infinite goodness and mercy.
01:35Although we ought always to humbly acknowledge our sins before God, we should do this particularly when we assemble and
01:43meet together,
01:44to give thanks for the great benefits we have received at his hands.
01:48To give him most worthy praise, to hear his most holy word, and to ask those things which are truly
01:57necessary as well for the body as the soul.
02:02Therefore I pray and ask you, who are present here today, to accompany me with a pure heart and humble
02:09voice to the throne of the heavenly grace, as we say together.
02:16Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep.
02:23We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts.
02:29We have offended against your holy laws.
02:32We have failed to do those things which we ought to have done, and we have done things which we
02:39ought not to have done.
02:44But you, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable sinners.
02:49Spare those, O God, who confess their faults.
02:53Restore those who are truly penitent, according to your promises declared to mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord.
03:03Grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake, that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life, to
03:12the glory of your holy name. Amen.
03:18Grant, we beseech you, merciful Lord, to your faithful people, pardon and peace, that they may be cleansed from all
03:26their sins, and serve you with a quiet mind.
03:30Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
03:38Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be your name.
03:43Your kingdom come, your will be done, in earth as it is in heaven.
03:49Give us this day our daily bread.
03:52Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
03:59Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
04:05For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
04:15O Lord, open our lips, and our mouths shall sing out your praise.
04:23O God, make speed to save us.
04:27O Lord, make haste to help us.
04:33Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
04:39As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
04:45Amen.
04:48Praise the Lord.
04:51The Lord's name be praised.
04:59Praise the Lord, for it is good to sing praises to our God.
05:05Yes, praise is pleasant and appropriate.
05:10The Lord rebuilds Jerusalem, and gathers the exiles of Israel.
05:16He heals the brokenhearted, and bandages their wounds.
05:21He counts the number of the stars.
05:23He names all of them.
05:26The Lord is great, and has awesome power.
05:28There is no limit to his wisdom.
05:32The Lord lifts up the oppressed, but knocks the wicked to the ground.
05:40Offer to the Lord a song of thanks.
05:42Sing praises to our God, to the accompaniment of a harp.
05:48He covers the sky with clouds, provides the earth with rain, and causes grass to grow on the hillsides.
05:56He gives food to the animals, and to the young ravens when they chirp.
06:02He is not enamored with the strength of a horse, nor is he impressed by the warrior's strong legs.
06:10The Lord takes delight in his faithful followers, and in those who wait for his loyal love.
06:18Extol the Lord, O Jerusalem.
06:20Praise your God, O Zion.
06:23For he makes the bars of your gates strong.
06:26He blesses your children within you.
06:30He brings peace to your territory.
06:33He abundantly provides for you the best grain.
06:37He sends his command through the earth.
06:40Swiftly his order reaches its destination.
06:44He sends the snow that is white like wool.
06:48He spreads the frost that is white like ashes.
06:52He throws his hailstones like crumbs.
06:56Who can withstand the cold wind he sends?
07:01He then orders it all to melt.
07:03He breathes on it, and the water flows.
07:06He proclaims his word to Jacob.
07:10His statutes and regulations to Israel.
07:14He has not done so with any other nation.
07:17They are not aware of his regulations.
07:20Praise the Lord.
07:23Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
07:27As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be.
07:31World without end.

08:19He issued a decree that will not be revoked.
08:25Praise the Lord from the earth, you sea creatures, and all you ocean depths.

10:06For the Lord takes delight in his people.
10:10He exalts the oppressed by delivering them.
10:14Let the godly rejoice because of their vindication.
10:17Let them shout for joy upon their beds.
10:20May the praises of God be in their mouths, and a two-edged sword in their hands,
10:27in order to take revenge on the nations and punish foreigners.
10:32They bind their kings in chains, and their nobles in iron shackles, and execute the judgment to which the enemies
10:41have been sentenced.
10:43All his loyal followers will be vindicated.

11:58World without end.
12:00Amen.
12:09The prophet Ezekiel, chapter 13.
12:14Yahweh's word came to me, saying,
12:16Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who prophesy,
12:21and say to those who prophesy out of their own heart,
12:25Hear Yahweh's word.
12:27Thus says the Lord Yahweh.
12:30Woe to you foolish prophets who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing.
12:36Israel, your prophets have been like foxes in the waste places.
12:41You have not gone up into the gaps or built up the wall for the house of Israel
12:46to stand in the battle in Yahweh's day.
12:50They have seen falsehood and lying divination,
12:53who say,
12:54Yahweh says, but Yahweh has not sent them.
12:57They have made men to hope that the word would be confirmed.
13:02Haven't you seen a false vision,
13:04and haven't you spoken a lying divination,
13:07in that you say,
13:08Yahweh says,
13:09but I have not spoken.
13:13Therefore thus says the Lord,
13:15because you have spoken falsehood and seen lies,
13:18therefore, behold, I am against you,
13:21says the Lord Yahweh.
13:22My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions,
13:26and who utter lying divinations.
13:29They will not be in the council of my people.
13:32Neither will they be written in the writing of the house of Israel.
13:36Neither will they enter into the land of Israel.
13:39Then you will know that I am the Lord Yahweh.
13:43Because,
13:44even because they have seduced my people,
13:47saying,
13:47Peace,
13:48and there is no peace.
13:50When one builds a wall,
13:51behold,
13:52they plaster it with whitewash.
13:55Tell those who plaster it with whitewash,
13:58that it will fall.
13:59There will be an overflowing shower,
14:02and you,
14:03great haystones,
14:04will fall.
14:05A stormy wind will tear it.
14:08Behold,
14:09when the wall has fallen,
14:10won't it be said,
14:11where is the plaster with which you have plastered it?
14:17Therefore,
14:17thus says the Lord Yahweh,
14:19I will even tear it with a stormy wind in my wrath.
14:23There will be an overflowing shower in my anger,
14:26and great haystones of wrath to consume it.
14:29And so I will break down the wall that you have plastered with whitewash,
14:33bringing it down to the ground,
14:35so that its foundation will be uncovered.
14:39It will fall,
14:40and you will be consumed,
14:41in the midst of it.
14:43And you will know that I am Yahweh.
14:47Thus,
14:47I will take my wrath on the wall,
14:49and on those who have plastered it with whitewash.
14:52I will tell you,
14:54the wall is no more,
14:55neither those who plastered it.
14:57To wit,
14:58the prophets of Israel,
15:00who prophesy concerning Jerusalem,
15:02and who see visions of peace for her,
15:05and there is no peace,
15:06says the Lord Yahweh.
15:08You,
15:09son of man,
15:10set your face against the daughters of your people,
15:13who prophesy out of their own heart,
15:16and prophesy against them,
15:18saying,
15:20Thus says the Lord Yahweh,
15:22woe to the women who sew pillows on all elbows,
15:25and make handkerchiefs for the head of women,
15:28of every stature,
15:29to hunt souls.
15:31Will you hunt the souls of my people,
15:33and save souls alive for yourselves?
15:36You have profaned me amongst my people
15:39for a handful of barley and a piece of bread,
15:42to kill the souls who should not die,
15:44and to save the souls alive who should not live,
15:48by lying to my people who listen to your lies.
15:54Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh,
15:56Behold,
15:57I am against your pillows,
15:59and with which you hunt the souls to make them fly,
16:02and I will tear them from your arms.
16:05I will let your souls go,
16:07even the souls whom you hunt,
16:09to make them fly.
16:10I will also tear your handkerchiefs,
16:13and deliver my people out of your hand,
16:15that they will no more be in your hand to be hunted.
16:19Then you will know that I am Yahweh,
16:22because with lies you have grieved the heart of the righteous,
16:25whom I have not made sad,
16:28and strengthened the heart of the wicked,
16:30that he should not return from his wicked way,
16:33and be saved alive.
16:36Therefore you shall see no more false visions,
16:39nor practice divination.
16:41I will deliver my people out of your hand,
16:44and then you will know that I am Yahweh.
16:48This is the word of the Lord.
16:51Thanks be to God.
17:07Mary said,
17:09My soul exalts the Lord,
17:11and my spirit has begun to rejoice in God my Saviour,
17:16because he has looked upon the humble state of his servant.
17:22For from now on all generations will call me blessed,
17:26because he who is mighty has done great things for me,
17:30and holy is his name.
17:33From generation to generation he is merciful to those who fear him.
17:39He has demonstrated power with his arm.
17:42He has scattered those whose pride wells up
17:45from the sheer arrogance of their hearts.
17:49He has brought down the mighty from their thrones,
17:52and has lifted up those of lowly position.
17:55He has filled the hungry with good things,
17:58and has sent the rich away empty.
18:02He has helped his servant Israel,
18:05remembering his mercy,
18:06as he promised to our ancestors,
18:09to Abraham and to his descendants for ever.
18:14Glory be to the Father,
18:16and to the Son,
18:17and to the Holy Spirit,
18:19as it was in the beginning,
18:21is now,
18:22and ever shall be,
18:24world without end.
18:26Amen.
18:36The Gospel according to Saint Mark,
18:39chapters 4 and 5.
18:43On that day when evening had come,
18:45he said to them,
18:46let us go over to the other side.
18:49Leaving the multitude,
18:51they took him with them,
18:52even as he was in the boat.
18:55Other small boats were also with him.
18:58A big windstorm arose,
19:00and the waves beat into the boat,
19:01so much so that the boat was filled.
19:05He himself was in the stern,
19:07asleep on the cushion,
19:08and they woke him,
19:10telling him,
19:11teacher,
19:12don't you care that we are dying?
19:14He awoke,
19:15rebuking the wind,
19:17and said to them,
19:18peace,
19:19be still.
19:21The wind ceased,
19:22and there was a great calm.
19:24He said to them,
19:25why are you so afraid?
19:27How is it you have no faith?
19:30They were greatly afraid,
19:32and said to one another,
19:34who then is this,
19:35that even the wind and the sea
19:37obeyed him?
19:40But they came to the other side of the lake,
19:42to the region of the Gerasene.
19:45And just as Jesus was getting out of the boat,
19:48a man with an unclean spirit
19:49came up from the tombs,
19:51and met him.
19:53He lived among the tombs,
19:54and no one could bind him any more,
19:56not even with chains,
19:58for his hands and feet
20:00had often been bound
20:01with chains and shackles,
20:03but he had torn the chains apart
20:04and broken the shackles in pieces.
20:07No one was strong enough
20:09to subdue him.
20:10Each night and every day
20:12among the tombs
20:13and in the mountains,
20:14he would cry out
20:15and cut himself with stones.
20:19When he saw Jesus from a distance,
20:22he ran and bowed down before him,
20:24and then he cried out with a loud voice,
20:27Leave me alone, Jesus,
20:29Son of the Most High God.
20:30I implore you by God,
20:32do not torment me.
20:35For Jesus had said to him,
20:37Come out of that man,
20:39you unclean spirit.
20:42Jesus asked him,
20:44What is your name?
20:46And he said,
20:48My name is Legion,
20:49for we are many.
20:51He begged Jesus repeatedly
20:53not to send them out of the region.
20:59There on the hillside,
21:00a great herd of pigs was feeding.
21:03The demonic spirits begged him,
21:05Send us into the pigs.
21:07Let us enter them.
21:09Jesus gave them permission.
21:12And so the unclean spirits came out
21:14and went into the pigs.
21:17And the herd rushed down the deep slope
21:20into the lake.
21:21And about two thousand were drowned
21:24in the lake.
21:26Now the herdsmen ran off
21:28and spread the news
21:28in the town and countryside.
21:31The people went out
21:32to see what had happened.
21:34They came to Jesus
21:36and saw the demon-possessed man
21:37sitting there,
21:39clothed and in his right mind.
21:40The one who had the one who had the legion
21:43and they were afraid.
21:46Those who had seen what had happened
21:47to the demon-possessed man
21:49reported it.
21:50And they also told about the pigs.
21:53And they asked Jesus
21:54to leave their region.
21:58As he was getting into the boat,
22:00the man who had been demon-possessed
22:02asked if he could go with him.
22:06Jesus did not permit him to do so.
22:09Instead, he said to him,
22:10Go to your home and to your people
22:12and tell them what the Lord
22:14has done for you,
22:15that he had mercy on you.
22:18And so he went away
22:19and began to proclaim in the Decapolis
22:22what Jesus had done for him.
22:24And all were amazed.
22:27This is the word of the Lord.
22:30Thanks be to God.
22:32Amen.
22:43Now, according to your word,
22:45Sovereign Lord,
22:47permit your servant to depart in peace.
22:50For my eyes have seen your salvation
22:53that you have prepared
22:54in the presence of all peoples,
22:58a light for revelation to the Gentiles
23:00and for glory to your people Israel.
23:06Glory be to the Father
23:07and to the Son
23:08and to the Holy Spirit
23:09as it was in the beginning,
23:12is now and ever shall be,
23:14world without end.
23:16Amen.
23:21I believe in God the Father Almighty,
23:25maker of heaven and earth,
23:27and in Jesus Christ,
23:28his only Son, our Lord,
23:31who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
23:34born of the Virgin Mary,
23:36suffered unto Pontius Pilate,
23:39was crucified, dead, and buried.
23:42He descended into hell.
23:45On the third day,
23:46he rose again from the dead.
23:48He ascended into heaven
23:50and is sitting at the right hand of God,
23:53the Father Almighty.
23:55From there he shall come to judge
23:57the living and the dead.
24:00I believe in the Holy Spirit,
24:02the Holy Catholic Church,
24:04the communion of saints,
24:06the forgiveness of sins,
24:08the resurrection of the body,
24:11and the life everlasting.
24:13Amen.
24:19The Lord be with you
24:21and with your spirit.
24:25Let us pray.
24:29Lord, have mercy upon us.
24:32Christ, have mercy upon us.
24:37Lord, have mercy upon us.
24:44Our Father, who is in heaven,
24:47holy is your name.
24:50May your kingdom come.
24:52May your will be done
24:53on earth as it is in heaven.
24:56Give us this day our daily bread.
24:59Forgive us our trespasses,
25:01as we forgive those
25:03who trespass against us.
25:06Lead us not into temptation,
25:08but deliver us from evil.
25:11For yours is the kingdom.
25:14The power and the glory,
25:16for ever and ever.
25:18Amen.
25:23O Lord, show your mercy upon us
25:26and grant us your salvation.
25:32Protect and guide those
25:34in authority over us
25:37and mercifully hear us
25:39when we call upon you.
25:42Endure your ministers
25:44with righteousness
25:45and make your chosen people joyful.
25:51O Lord, save your people
25:54and bless your inheritance.
25:59Give peace in our time,
26:02O Lord,
26:03because there is none other
26:05who fights for us
26:06but only you, O God.
26:10O God, make clean
26:11our hearts within us
26:14and take not your Holy Spirit
26:17from us.
26:26Let us pray.
26:29Almighty and most merciful God,
26:31whose only gift comes
26:33that your faithful people
26:34give you true and laudable service,
26:37grant we beseech you
26:39that we may so faithfully
26:41serve you in this life
26:42that we will not fail
26:44finally to attain
26:45your heavenly promises.
26:47Through the merits
26:48of Jesus Christ,
26:49our Lord.
26:50Amen.
27:00O God,
27:01from whom all holy desires,
27:04all good counsels
27:05and all just works proceed,
27:08give to your servants
27:10that peace
27:10which the world cannot give,
27:13that our hearts
27:15may be set to obey
27:16your commandments
27:17and also that,
