00:00In this follow-up video you learn how to design this threaded table leg in FreeCAD.
00:07It will look like this when the model is finished.
00:13Let's start in the part design workbench.
00:16And create a new sketch.
00:21Select the XZed plane.
00:25Now you can sketch on this plane.
00:28Select the Normal Rectangle tool.
00:32Then click on the origin and drag the mouse to the bottom right.
00:36Enter 25mm for the radius because it will be revolved.
00:41Press Tab and enter 155mm for the length of the leg.
00:47Press Enter sometimes twice to apply the dimensions.
00:52Click on Close to exit the sketch.
00:55So the sketch is complete.
00:57You can now create a solid from the sketch with the Revolve tool.
01:03The sketch will be rotated around the vertical axis.
01:06Let's enter another number of degrees to see how that looks.
01:10To create a full round shape, make sure it's set to 360 degrees.
01:16Click on OK to apply.
01:19Now select the bottom edge.
01:22And go to the fillet tool.
01:27Enter a radius of 15mm and click here to see the preview.
01:32Click on OK to apply the fillet.
01:38Now one side of the leg is rounded.
01:42To add the threaded rod, go to the fasteners workbench.
01:49Select the top edge.
01:55And add this metric threaded rod.
02:00Return to another workbench for more screen space.
02:04Select the threaded rod in the design tree.
02:10Choose M36 for the size.
02:15And enter 25mm for the length.
02:21Check Thread to model the threaded profile.
02:25The rod has to be placed a bit more inside the model.
02:29Enter an offset of 5mm for this.
02:35Now the rod is placed more inside for better adhesion.
02:38The model is finished.
02:40In the next video, you learn to assemble the table legs to the table top.
