00:00In this FreeCAD video, you learned to fix another version of the wire is not closed error.
00:09Let's go back and create a new sketch on this face.
00:19Click this button to project external geometry of the model inside this sketch.
00:25Let's project an arc and this horizontal line.
00:29Right-click to exit the project geometry tool.
00:32These projected lines can now be used as constraint points inside this sketch.
00:37To demonstrate this, let's select the rectangle tool.
00:42Start on this vertex and end on the vertical axis.
00:50Right-click to exit the rectangle tool.
00:53Now select the two lines and make them equal.
01:01Click on Close to exit this sketch.
01:05Select the pad feature to extrude the rectangle.
01:08But when you click on OK, the wire is not closed error appears.
01:13Click on OK to continue and click on Cancel to exit the pad tool.
01:18Double-click on the sketch to edit it and click on the projected lines to select them.
01:27Click this button to convert them to construction geometry.
01:33The projected lines will be dashed.
01:37Click on Close to exit the sketch.
01:40Select the pad feature again to extrude the rectangle.
01:44And when you click on OK, the rectangle is extruded.

01:50Thanks!
01:50To solve this for the next time, go to Edit and select Preferences.
01:57Go to the Skecher tab and select General and make sure the Always Add External Geometry as Construction box is
02:06checked.
02:08Click on OK to apply.
02:14Double-click on the sketch to edit it again.
02:20Click this button to project external geometry.
02:24And you see it's a dashed construction line now.
02:28Let's draw a similar rectangle on this new projected construction line.
02:37Click on Close to exit the sketch.
02:39The other rectangle was also extruded because only closed contours and dashed construction lines were used.
02:46This can save you some frustration when using projected geometry.
