00:00In this FreeCAD beginner tutorial, you learn how to manage, install and remove workbenches.
00:11Let's start. These are the workbenches that are active.
00:17To add more installed workbenches, click on the green plus icon here on the right.
00:23Click on Preferences and you will go to the Available Workbenches tab directly.
00:27Here you see which workbenches are active, they are checked.
00:34So all workbenches you see here at the top are checked here.
00:43If you want to add a workbench, open SCAD for example, check the box next to it.
00:48If you want to keep it open after a restart of FreeCAD, check this box too.
00:52Here are a few more helpful tips.
00:58You can choose a workbench that's automatically selected each time you start FreeCAD.
01:04Here you can choose to use a tab bar for workbench selection instead of a drop-down menu.
01:09And here you can choose between an icon, text or both. In this video, both are visible.
01:19Click on OK to apply all changes and you see the open SCAD workbench is there.
01:24To remove it, go to the Preferences menu again. And uncheck it, also uncheck Autoload,
01:37if you don't want to see it back next time you start FreeCAD.
01:39So what about new workbenches that are not available yet?
01:49For that, you go to Tools and then Add and Manager.
01:58Here you see a list where you can view, install and remove all available FreeCAD workbenches.
02:03You see, there are a lot of workbenches for FreeCAD.
02:15Let's search for fasteners, for example.
02:17You see, it's already installed here. When you click on it, you have several options like refreshing local cache,
02:31do updates, uninstall or disable it.
02:35This video is sponsored by PCBWay. Export 3D models directly to their website.
02:43Then select how it should be manufactured.
02:45And configure your project details.
02:49Finally, preview your 3D model.
02:52And submit your manufacturing request.
02:55Let's go to another workbench that is not installed yet.
02:59It's available, so you can install it.
03:04Click on OK and then on Close to exit the menu.
03:11Then choose Restart Now to make the workbench active.
03:15You see it popped up here.
