00:00Hello, good afternoon. A blustery day with quite frequent heavy downpours sweeping across
00:06the country throughout today. We've got low pressure dominating our weather and you can
00:10see that on the satellite picture from this morning. The swirl of cloud wrapped around
00:15the area of low pressure. We do have some occluded fronts as well in there. That will
00:18bring the focus for more frequent downpours through this afternoon. But notice out to
00:24the west we do have a ridge of high pressure. That will be moving in for Friday to bring
00:29a drier end to the week before further wet and windy weather arrives for the weekend.
00:34But looking at the radar you can see some very heavy rain already pushing into parts of
00:38north-west England. Southeastern areas will continue to see some heavy bursts through this
00:43afternoon. Perhaps some rumbles of thunder, possibly some hail as well. Particularly across
00:47parts of eastern Scotland we could see some quite frequent and slow-moving showers. So
00:52there may be quite a bit of water on the roads by the end of today. Further west, showers still
00:57pushing in from the west with a brisk westerly breeze. There will be a bit more in the way
01:02of drier interludes. Temperatures will be around average for the time of year. Mid to
01:07high teens at best but in the shade or in any of those downpours it's not going to feel
01:12particularly warm. Particularly with the strength of the wind. It's not going to be a disruptive
01:16wind but certainly will make it not feel particularly like summer. Now through this evening the winds
01:22remain quite strong across more northern areas. Further showers pushing into Scotland, northern
01:27areas of England, Northern Ireland too. Across the south it turns a little bit drier overnight.
01:31So some clearer skies and lighter winds developing as that ridge of high pressure pushes in to start
01:37Friday. So rurally temperatures will be down in the single figures to start the day. Towns and cities
01:42in double digits. But a bit of a fresh start compared to recent mornings. But there will be more in
01:48the
01:48way of sunshine through Friday, particularly through the morning. There's still a risk of showers. They
01:53won't be quite as heavy as they have been so far this week. So more in the way of drier
01:57and brighter
01:58weather and the winds will be lighter on Friday. Now we've still got quite fresh air so it's not going
02:03to be a particularly warm one. But with lighter winds and more in the way of sunshine I think it
02:07will
02:07feel more pleasant. Temperatures again in those mid to high teens. Now out to the west on Friday
02:14afternoon we'll see winds strengthen and rains start to push in from the southwest as the next
02:19area of low pressure arrives for the weekend. This could bring some fairly significant winds to parts
02:25of the southwest for the time of year. So that's one to watch and something to be aware of if
02:30you're
02:30travelling, perhaps going out camping in the southwest this weekend. Ahead of it though a drier start to
02:36the weekend. But Aidan will have more details on your fall weekend forecast on YouTube a little bit
02:41later on. Have a great day. Bye bye.
