06 November - National weather forecast presented by Annie Shuttleworth.
Transcript
00:00Hello, good morning. It's going to be another very mild day and for some of us there will be a few
00:05glimmers of sunshine as well. But first thing, it's pretty cloudy out there, particularly over
00:11the hills. There's some drizzly rain to come. That should lift and clear as the day goes on. But
00:15there's a risk of a few showers across eastern areas of England through this morning. And then
00:19towards the west we could see a few showers moving through into this afternoon. Parts of Wales,
00:24southwest England, northwestern England as well. But with southerly winds and a few spells of
00:30sunshine, temperatures will be climbing above average once again. 16, 17 degrees quite widely
00:36across central areas as well as parts of northeastern Scotland. We could locally see 18 or 19 degrees
00:42further south. So another mild day. And in any sunshine, I think it's going to feel relatively
00:47pleasant. It will stay mild overnight tonight as well. But the cloud will really roll in once again,
00:52a risk of some mist and fog, drizzly rain and a few showers overnight. But none of the rain is
00:58looking particularly heavy if you do see any showers overnight. And as I said, another mild one.
01:03It's not going to be quite as mild as last night. Temperatures a degree or so down, but still
01:08above average for the time of year. Now as the day goes on through Friday, there will be more in the
01:14way of dry and bright weather, particularly across north and eastern areas. A few showers first thing,
01:20but the afternoon is looking relatively pleasant across the north and the east. But a very different
01:25story across the south and west. The next batch of rain is arriving. And with that, westerly quite
01:30gusty winds across parts of the southwest. That will introduce much fresher air. So a different feel
01:36as we head into the afternoon on Friday across the south and west. But ahead of that band of rain
01:41across the north and eastern areas, still feeling pretty pleasant with winds staying fairly light
01:47into the evening. Now looking ahead to the weekend, well, the mild theme continues, but low pressure
01:53is never too far away. And that will bring further spells of wet weather into the north and west,
01:58with the south and east looking that much drier. But if you'd like a more detailed weekend forecast,
02:03well, why not check out our YouTube channel later on today. See you soon. Bye bye.
