00:00Hello, good morning. It's going to be a bit of a cooler, more unsettled weekend with showers for many of
00:06us, particularly across western areas who've got low pressure with us.
00:09It's a fairly mild start out there, particularly across many eastern areas. Temperatures around 7 or 8 degrees here.
00:16A little bit fresher though further north. We've got quite a brisk breeze out there to start the day.
00:22The winds will ease a little bit into this afternoon and there will be a brighter spell of weather to
00:27come this afternoon
00:28as that band of rain clears away to the east. Behind it, some brighter spells, but also fairly frequent showers
00:34will pack in from the west.
00:36And I think if you're in any coastal areas, you will definitely notice that breeze.
00:419 or 10 degrees across the coast, closer to 13 or 14 degrees for more sheltered areas to the east.
00:47So a bit below par for the time of year, but some fairly dry weather to be had if you
00:53do time it OK.
00:54Showers continue into this evening, particularly across parts of western Scotland, and the winds will whip up again through the
01:00early hours of Sunday.
01:02We could see gusts 50 to 60 miles per hour for a time across the western isles, wrapped around this
01:07area of low pressure.
01:08As well as these frequent, quite heavy showers, there's a risk of hail and thunder in these showers,
01:14as well as some hill snow across northern areas throughout the weekend.
01:17Having said that, though, many eastern areas of England should remain dry overnight, but it's going to be breezy with
01:24cloud around.
01:24So again, any frost is going to be very limited to just the most sheltered rural areas.
01:30For most of us, 6 or 7 degrees once again to start the day.
01:34But unfortunately, another day of showers to come on Sunday.
01:37Again, these could be quite heavy, particularly across more northern areas and the far southwest.
01:42We've got a southwesterly wind coming in, so western areas will feel that breeze bringing a slight chill.
01:48However, those showers will push into more eastern areas throughout Sunday afternoon.
01:52So anyone running the Brighton Marathon at risk of seeing a shower through Sunday afternoon.
01:58But as you can see, there is a risk of some brighter weather as well for parts of Wales, the
02:02Midlands, Northern Ireland,
02:03perhaps seeing some brighter spells as well.
02:06But I think most of us are going to get caught out by one of those showers, so please make
02:09sure you pack your brolly and your coat this weekend if you're heading out and about.
02:13In any brighter spells, 14 degrees possible for most of us.
02:16We're going to be around 11 to 12 degrees.
02:19What happens into next week?
02:21Well, we've still got low pressure to start the week.
02:24The winds will ease a little bit, though, into Monday.
02:26It does stay on the cooler side at first, but then southerly winds start to pick up from Tuesday.
02:32So it does look like it will eventually turn a bit warmer.
