00:00Miles said he found out about a week ago.
00:04So if they went to trade him, was he coming next week?
00:07Yes?
00:08So this was all going to be normal.
00:10Let me ask you that.
00:11Now, that's a weird question I know because we want to get to what Barry had said about it and
00:15about the trade.
00:18Actually, I think we should do it now because it seems that the Rams had called a lot sooner than
00:22all this.
00:23Here is Andrew Barry, and he kind of puts it on the media in so many ways that the trade
00:29was done.
00:30I'd like to sit here and say it was some grand master plan, but it really wasn't.
00:33What it did do is, honestly, probably because of a lot that was reported, that is what originally caused L
00:40.A. to reach out and check in.
00:42And we said, hey, look, he wasn't available.
00:45To their credit, they were really, really persistent.
00:47And then really things kind of picked up after the draft.
00:50See, that I don't think fans, the fans that are still outraged today and aren't really talking about verse
00:57and how does an organization trade away a Hall of Famer, they don't want to hear credit to another organization
01:03for being persistent.
01:06That's all it takes.
01:07That's all it takes is for one team not to take no for an answer, and then we lose the
01:11best player we've ever had in our lifetime.
01:13Like, fans don't want to hear that.
01:15So, in a way, I mean, do you kind of hope he's lying there?
01:19Because a lot of people just assume he was lying.
01:21It was only the Rams?
01:23No, that the door was always open.
01:25Basically, the whole league knew you could trade for Miles Garrett.
01:28You just had to know that he would accept it because he had a no-trade clause.
01:32No.
01:33And that, obviously, the Browns would have to be accepting of the return.
01:38I don't.
01:38No.
01:39Because there's going to be – like, Albert said it, I think, yesterday, and I think he was right.
01:44Like, you can't sit there and – like, if you're going to do something like that, you had to do
01:47it with one team.
01:48Like, you couldn't sit there and –
01:49I heard that and –
01:51But I believe Albert and I agree with Albert.
01:53You didn't believe him?
01:54Do we not –
01:55You didn't agree with him, I should say?
01:56I didn't agree at all because I think we've always known, like, Miles was going to accept a trade to
02:03a real contender.
02:04He would have accepted a trade to the Eagles.
02:06Yes.
02:06Maybe the Cowboys just because it's Dallas.
02:08And so, to act like we had to keep walking on eggshells and be super quiet or else it would
02:16disrupt – disrupt what?
02:17Miles – Miles clearly didn't want to be here anymore.
02:20He wasn't going to show up to anything.
02:21He wasn't even going to talk to your head coach.
02:23What were you worried about?
02:24Now, were you worried about spoiling, like, another team?
02:29So, that's – your job as Andrew Barry is to get a – to get pretty close to the best
02:34damn offer you could for Miles Garrett for the Hall of Famer.
02:37You can't trade him pennies on the dollar.
02:39He took the first offer that was made, right?
02:42Well, as far as we know, it's the only offer that was made.
02:44But, no, I agree with Albert.
02:46You think they haven't taken calls from other teams?
02:48You think this –
02:49Oh, no.
02:49A bunch of teams call.
02:50Are you believing, Andrew Barry, that only because the media talked about – where do you think the media got
02:55reports at all?
02:56Because, clearly, other teams have been talking to Andrew Barry.
02:59Anthony, Anthony, I think –
03:01I can't believe you guys are taking Andrew Barry at his word out.
03:03He was asked about it afterwards, so.
03:05I'm not taking Andrew's word for it.
03:07I'm taking Albert's word for it.
03:09That's what I'm saying to you.
03:11Andrew and Albert are different people in different names.
03:13I'm taking what Albert Breer said.
03:16So, you believe – you believe that the NFL all thought there's no chance Miles Garrett's getting traded, except for
03:22the Rams.
03:22No, no, no, no.
03:24Okay, so why did other teams think he was available?
03:26I'm sure – well, if we can go through this again, what was the other team – who was the
03:31other team that was always rumored?
03:32The Eagles.
03:32The Eagles.
03:33Okay.
03:33What's his relationship with Howie Roseman?
03:36Good.
03:36His brother works for the Eagles for crying out loud.
03:39All right.
03:39Well, he has a relationship with Les Snead.
03:41Him and Les Snead are buddies.
03:43So, the two teams that we always heard were the closest to being around.
03:47I'm sure the Eagles and he talked.
03:49But they're not going to have this conversation about the Eagles and him talking.
03:53They're going to leave that out.
03:54That's the Eagles thing.
03:55They're not going to do that.
03:56The Eagles have no reason and Howie Roseman has no reason to sit there and tell everybody, hey, I actually
04:01offered X, Y, and Z for Miles Garrett because he's throwing his friend under the bus and he's not going
04:05to do it.
04:06I get that.
04:06What I'm not buying in the slightest is that there were media reports pulled out of thin air that Miles
04:13Garrett could be available.
04:15Yeah, I agree with you there.
04:15And now the Rams were like, whoa, holy cow, I didn't know this even though there had been dialogue in
04:21the past with the Rams.
04:22Now we're on the same page because I think there was only one team he was seriously willing to talk
04:25to.
04:26Like if the Dolphins called up, well, the Dolphins are kind of nuts, so maybe he would have answered, maybe
04:31he would have talked about it.
04:32But I don't know if Miles would have went there.
04:34I think there were definitely places that Miles and they talked about where there would be a possibility he would
04:43go, right?
04:44I mean, agents talk, things like that.
04:47But I bet there were teams that called and Andrew just said, no, I'm sorry, we are not trading him.
04:53If you have any other offers for anything else, of course, we can always do business in the future.
04:56Have a great day.
04:57But I think when Les Snead and the Rams called and you see Jared Verse, you scout Jared Verse, your
05:02job is to scout other players.
05:03I wonder what he would have done with the Eagles.
05:06I wonder who was a possibility with the Eagles.
05:08I think that those were two teams that were involved.
05:11I believe Albert, though.
05:12It's not Andrew, I believe.
05:13It's Albert.
05:14Now, I don't believe it was necessarily just like a week ago, but I think that there was definitely conversation.
05:21And those were the two teams that he was going to talk to honestly and say, all right, what do
05:28you got?
05:29Those were the only two because I think he trusts those two general managers that it's not going to get
05:33out there and go crazy.
05:34So do you think, though, after all was said and done, do you think it was the responsibility of Andrew
05:42Barry to get the best offer humanly possible for Miles Garrett?
05:47It always is.
05:49But it's also...
05:50That's not what he said yesterday, though.
05:52But it's also the best offer he could possibly get that, remember, Miles will accept.
05:57Like, you could have...
05:58Again, there's crazy organizations out there.
06:00The Dolphins could have been like, hey, we'll give you five first round picks.
06:02I guess I'm talking from contenders.
06:03And Miles Garrett would have been like, okay, I don't care.
06:05Yeah, I guess I mean...
06:06Well, he was asked if he took what the Rams had offered and went, hey, here's what we've got out
06:13there.
06:13Anybody want to try to beat it?
06:15He was asked that yesterday.
06:17And this is what he said.
06:19That wasn't the goal.
06:20That wasn't the goal of Miles.
06:21And if we were to trade Miles, it's a very narrow universe of deals that satisfy it.
06:25Everyone wants to have a Miles Garrett on their team, but not everyone can afford that acquisition cost in terms
06:30of players,
06:31you know, picks and dollars.
06:33And so, that was not the intent of any of it.
06:36And that leads me to believe, going back to even last year...
06:38It doesn't sound like he even tried to shop it.
06:40...when he was, okay, but what I'm going back to is when you go...
06:43I'm not trying to believe him.
06:44I'm believing Albert here.
06:45This is what I'm believing here.
06:46Because I'm trying to put together the reasons for it.
06:49The reasons for it might be, last year when he wanted to trade, when Miles wanted to be traded,
06:53it was probably Rams, Eagles, maybe Cowboys in there, you would assume.
06:59Especially since they traded for Michael...
07:00Traded Michael Parsons away later.
07:01Who the hell knows?
07:02Like, there's probably, like, a short amount of teams.
07:06Like, there's definitely teams out there that Miles Garrett just ain't ever going to play for
07:09and ain't going to happen.
07:10And I'm sure that one of those teams would have called up.
07:13And he is not going to sit there.
07:14He's got to do what's best for the entire franchise, not just the future.
07:17So, if you sit there and go, Miles Garrett's open for trades.
07:20All right, have your rookie head coach go out there and have to answer questions about that.
07:24And your new defensive coordinator, and you, and the owner, and all that stuff.
07:27You don't want to do that.
07:29You want to make sure this is done the right way.
07:31Because if it was anybody who could trade for him and he didn't have a no-trade clause,
07:35maybe you do do that.
07:37But you can't sit there and go, well, yeah, the Dolphins offered us five first-round picks
07:43and Miles said no.
07:44So, we're keeping Miles.
07:45Great.
07:46Now that puts even more on Miles.
07:47I ain't going to make Miles any happier because now you might have got the fans upset
07:50because you probably know you aren't going to be that good.
07:52And Miles is going to be out there while you guys are losing games going,
07:54man, we could have got five first-rounders from the Dolphins.
07:56I'm just naming a crazy team that ain't that good that might offer you something crazy.
08:00I know there were rumors with the Eagles that the Eagles were offering Nolan Smith Jr.
08:05and the Browns countered with Jalen Carter, right?
08:10Yes.
08:10That was a rumor.
08:11We don't know.
08:12We haven't been able to.
08:13And we'll never know now.
08:14Like, why would anybody talk now?
08:15Like, if you're the Eagles, you're certainly not going to.
08:18Now, I would say maybe the Nolan Smith 135 miles an hour.
08:21I thought it was 137.
08:23Might have gotten in the way of that.
08:24But, of course, you know, I know our guy doesn't like to necessarily drive the speed limit.
08:28So, I don't know if that would have been a problem.
08:31Do they trade their points back and forth?
08:35It's a full license if you trade the points.
08:40Sorry.
08:43I'm just saying.
08:44I agree with – I believe Albert.
08:46I agree with Albert.
08:48I don't believe Andrew.
08:50Like, if you're asking me if I believe anything that Andrew says in a press conference,
08:54I go, no.
08:54No.
08:55God, no.
08:55No.
08:56We're getting through.
08:57I didn't really believe him before, and I really don't believe him after all this.
09:01So, he was asked about Denzel Ward, and I'm sure we'll play that later because we got the clip show
09:06going on today with everybody who talked.
09:09But, like, if he was asked about Denzel, you notice he didn't actually say no when he was asked about
09:15Denzel yesterday.
09:15That was immediately clear to everybody.
09:18So, we might have to go through all this again by November.
09:21It won't be as big.
09:23Denzel's a great player.
09:25It won't be as big, but it's still going to be a conversation.
