00:00We are seeing some photos the Rams have put out of Myles Garrett, so I want to ask people, 216474
00:05-0092,
00:06are you upset that Myles showed up to practice for the Rams today?
00:09Because I think there's a lot of Browns fans out there that were waiting for him to show up with
00:13the Browns.
00:14Obviously, he never did with good reason, and now he's being a good soldier with Los Angeles.
00:18In a non-mandatory session today, because they don't have mandatory minicap until June 15th,
00:24Myles Garrett in attendance reporting for duty.
00:27So I'm posting right now, sorry.
00:30Myles Garrett at OTAs, question mark, question mark, question mark, what changed?
00:36Yeah, I wonder.
00:37Yeah, new zip code, I wonder.
00:38And so I'm not upset with Myles for this at all, by the way.
00:41I also wouldn't be upset if Myles all of a sudden turned in some great leader
00:45and was trying to be everything that he wasn't with the Browns with the Rams.
00:50I won't hold that against him.
00:52If anything, I think that's him learning from what pisses people off and what doesn't.
00:56What?
00:57You give me a look there.
00:58Is life not just trying to figure out what makes other people mad and then adjusting along the way?
01:03It's cute that you think that Myles Garrett's the least bit interested in alleviating what angers people.
01:09I think he knew.
01:10I think this was obvious.
01:11And he knew that, hey, this got Todd Munkin really angry.
01:14This got the Browns really angry.
01:15This got the fans really angry.
01:16How about a great first impression?
01:18How about we show up to camp for the Rams in a spot I don't even have to be there
01:21with?
01:22Yeah, again.
01:23It's an easy win.
01:24You're showing your employer now that you're this hardworking guy that's going to show up all the time.
01:28You're showing the fans.
01:29I think a mandatory minicamp is not until June 15th.
01:32I think you're giving Myles way too much credit here.
01:34Turning over a new leaf.
01:35The mistakes you make in the past you don't have to make in the future.
01:38I think there's an obvious...
01:40This is basically...
01:41Daryl, you've been a man in many relationships in life.
01:44Don't you think about the idea that in past relationships and places you've failed, the whole point is that you
01:50get to a spot where you stop making the obvious failed mistakes?
01:53What makes you think I was the problem?
01:55Life.
01:57Knowing me as long as you have.
01:59Exactly.
02:00Our whole friendship.
02:01I think there's a giveaway there.
02:04I know you're not happy and just going to have to live with it.
02:06He doesn't have to take the easy route here, Myles.
02:08Oh, trust me.
02:09I've played that card before.
02:10It did not end well for me.
02:12Myles could just as easily not show up until the mandatory minicamp.
02:15And every Rams fan, all 12 of them, would be like, I get it.
02:19It's fine.
02:19You don't have to be there.
02:20Finish your vacation.
02:21Hang out with Chloe in her house 20 minutes away.
02:23Do whatever you got to do, Myles.
02:25You'll be there when we need you.
02:27He's making a point.
02:29Myles is making an obvious point.
02:31He knew how much it pissed off Browns fans.
02:33He knew how much it made Todd Munkin mad.
02:35He knew how much it drove the organization crazy.
02:37All these type of things.
02:38Hey, listen.
02:39And so he's showing up.
02:40Things he didn't do here, he's showing up.
02:42I like this for Myles.
02:43You know what?
02:44I have some advice for the folks in Los Angeles.
02:49Watch yourself on the 405.
02:51That is all.
02:51Yeah.
02:52Well, he doesn't get to go fast enough in the 405 to even have those problems.
02:54Another beautiful thing.
02:56I'm writing it down right now.
02:56Another beautiful development for Myles.
02:58They have so much traffic there.
02:59Well, because you think he's just so interested in all this personal growth all of this sudden.
03:04Well, I mean.
03:04Next, you're going to say, yeah, he's going out to Los Angeles to be the leader of the Rams.
03:08He's destined to be the leader in the locker room that he never was ever going to be here.
03:14If it happens, it happens.
03:16New set of rules.
03:17Sean McVay might run a tighter ship than what Kevin Stefanski was running.
03:20I don't know.
03:21I would make a good dollar bet that he's a better head coach than Stefanski is.
03:26Something tells me that, I mean, Kevin, listen, Kevin Stefanski wouldn't let rookies pick their own jersey numbers, okay?
03:32Come on.
03:34You think Miles Garrett's going to roll his eyes in the back of victory speeches?
03:40Sean McVay?
03:41I don't know.
03:41I understand the context of why he rolled his eyes, though.
03:44That was the, have I ever lied to you guys before?
03:48That's what caused Miles Garrett to roll his eyes and have the expression on his face, which I totally get.
03:55I get, too.
03:55But, like, little context to that here.
03:58Listen, this is a human.
03:59If Sean McVay maybe did some things the way Kevin Stefanski did some things, and McVay's in the locker room
04:09giving the speech, and he goes,
04:10Hey, have I ever lied to you guys?
04:12Like, I would then expect Miles to have a very similar reaction, because fair is fair.
04:16Unless, of course, he's really taken this big, you know, leaps and bounds of personal growth that you're talking about.
04:22I mean, all this is for myself.
04:23I'm sure there'll be Browns fans that could have said this.
04:25I wonder if Miles' dad's going to take creepy pictures of the media like he did here in Cleveland.
04:29Well, we can just say everything now.
04:31Okay.
04:33Oh, no.
04:33That happened a few training camps ago.
04:35I know what happened.
04:36I get it.
04:36I turned around, the cameras pointed at me, and I'm just like, what's going on here?
04:41And so, you know, and he kept calling my name, trying to get me to turn around.
04:46Is that right?
04:47And I'm just like, yeah, no, no, I don't want my photo.
04:50Who wants a photo of me?
04:51Have you not seen my face?
04:54Face for radio here.
04:55Nobody wants to look at this, okay?
04:58I get it.
04:58It's fine.
04:59But so finally I go up to him and say, hey, what's going on?
05:03Oh, I'm just taking pictures of everyone at camp.
05:05I'm like, what?
05:06You putting us on dartboards or something?
05:08And what do you say to that?
05:09Nothing.
05:10Nothing.
05:10So probably did put us on dartboards.
05:13Or maybe there was a cemetery in the backyard.
05:18I never had a problem with Miles' dad.
05:20Miles' dad, who is one of those people that is very, how do I put this?
05:26He liked sliding into media members' DMs.
05:30Yes.
05:30Okay?
05:30That is accurate.
05:31That's the thing about him, okay?
05:33And so I never had a problem with him.
05:34I always had, I never had a problem with him.
05:38Let's just put it that way.
05:39But if you took a photo of me at camp, I would be inquisitive of like, what are you
05:42guys, what are you doing over there?
05:43Maybe he just wanted to send it to you later and be like, I'm taking these photos.
05:46I just want to send it to you a little bit later on.
05:49But Miles' dad is not the point.
05:50I've broken my fair share of cameras over the years.
05:53You're right.
05:54But I'm just like.
05:55The point is, is that if Browns fans are upset with Miles Garrett because he's reporting
05:59for camp, I would argue that this was always going to happen.
06:03OTAs.
06:03OTA, yeah.
06:03I would argue this is always going to happen.
06:06It was always, this is the first impression, the good look.
06:09This is when you, anytime you get a new job, you're going to work later.
06:11You're going to make sure that you're on your P's and Q's.
06:14You're going to show up with your best outfits and everything all ready to go.
06:18And like, this is also, it's a, it's a work honeymoon phase for a reason.
06:21He's going to do things in the upcoming weeks that he never would have done and never will
06:25do, by the way, next year.
06:27Even this is just him trying to, Hey, I'm not that guy.
06:30That's the test.
06:31What does he do?
06:32He's not going to do it next year.
06:33There's no way he does it next year.
06:34He's walking into a situation where he's going from double digit losses to double digit wins and
06:39been potentially competing to win a Superbowl.
06:43And Hey, he might also, by the way, he might be more motivated to though.
06:46Let's not leave that stone unturned.
06:47Former Browns have had some pretty good success in Los Angeles.
06:51I mean, Baker Mayfield went out there that helped him get the gig in Tampa and get him
06:54paid.
06:55Well, Odell Beckham jr.
06:56Went out there and I granted Odell got hurt in the Superbowl, but he won a Superbowl.
06:59I just keep wanting to say Austin Corbett now, but that's fine.
07:02I, you know, but the point is, is that when it comes to miles and again, he might not
07:07do this next year.
07:07Who cares if he does or doesn't?
07:08I think right now next year, I'm going to pay attention.
07:10He's not going to, he's not going to do it next year.
07:12I would bet so much money.
07:13He's not going to do it next year.
07:14And that's fine.
07:15I, this is all about making a good first impression and understanding how to hold
07:19your friends in the desert.
07:21But, but there is that idea.
07:22Is he, is there a part of miles that maybe miles would have been at all this other stuff
07:26that even some veterans skip anyway, if he felt like it was all worth something, if
07:30he felt like he was actually playing towards the double digit win season that the Rams are
07:34projected to have.
07:35The Rams are projected to be the very best team in the NFL this year.
07:39Like you do act differently when you think you're playing towards a Superbowl.
07:42Well, that, that trade, that trade tipped it all in the Rams favor.
07:46All the, all the books moved in the Rams favor to win the Superbowl.
07:49They were still in the Superbowl bubble, what I call the Superbowl bubble, which is the
07:52top five, six teams.
07:53Anyway, they were in that bubble even before this trade, but now that now they're sitting on
07:57top of it.
07:58But if you're miles and you've never really been in a position to be on a Superbowl favorite,
08:02especially not one that is the Superbowl favorite before the season gets underway, maybe you
08:06do act a little bit differently when it comes to your approach towards OTAs, your approach
08:12towards different mini camps, your approach towards all of this.
08:15I tend to think he's just trying to make a good impression, but I, I wouldn't hate it
08:19if he looked around and said, no, I'm actually playing for something.
08:22Now I'm going to be there.
08:22I just can't believe he showed up for OTAs.
08:26And he looks as jacked as ever, by the way, he looks as jacked as ever.
08:29Well, see, and that's why I never got mad at him, never showing up for OTAs here, because
08:33like, it's not like he showed up to camp out of shape or the mandatory camp in June out
08:38of shape or anything like that.
08:39Working out is his hobby.
08:41I don't think that's something people don't understand.
08:42It's an Aaron Donald.
08:43After the press conference the other day, he wanted to go work out, which I thought
08:46was a big miss by the Rams to not be like, yeah, we'll open the doors and let you work
08:49out.
08:49They're like, no, get out to get after tomorrow.
08:51I'm like, I don't think you guys understand, by the way, the man's obsessive.
08:54I don't, I don't, I don't think many people really understand, including the Rams in that
08:57conversation.
08:59These NFL players that are built like miles are not just some of the greatest football players
09:04to exist.
09:04They're also some of the greatest working out people in life.
09:08Like, like that, like they work out at a level gym rats that is, I mean, like Arnold
09:15Schwarzenegger, uh, like all bodybuilder type steroids though.
09:19Yeah.
09:20But like the amount of weight that some of these guys can move and some of these guys can
09:22lift is, I mean, this is, this is, it's, it's, it's insane.
09:27And there's there, but they're as good as they are at football.
09:29They're almost as good at working out.
09:32That's part of the, this is part of what goes hand in hand.
09:34You know, it's going to happen.
09:36They're going to love his press conferences in LA when he shows up after practice with
09:41no shirt on.
09:42Well, it'll fit the culture down there.
09:44Yes.
09:44You know, where they're just, everyone's got a six pack.
09:46Everyone's ripped.
09:47He will fit in well.
