06:14and them wearing the free rishi shirts which in retrospect come on we and at the time gold we said
06:20those were in poor taste but it certainly didn't get better i think we can admit that it's not like
06:25it wasn't smart at the time it didn't improve with time though it aged like milk instead and so
06:30there's random situation let's talk about the chief's actual schedules it relates to the team
06:34anyway we'll let drew worry about the cameras for you for now you and i will try to avoid putting

06:38into the camera screen so that we move it i'm torn a little bit on the chief schedule because i
06:43don't
06:43believe there's any conspiracy around schedule making right i don't think that they're trying to screw a
06:48team or not screw a team chief's got six prime time games i was hoping it was going to be
06:51less
06:52second most in the league doesn't surprise me the reason why i was hoping it'd be less is maybe they
06:56could fly a little bit more under the radar or find a way to make that adjustment okay fine i

07:01that they got both helped by the schedule in the early part because my homes will be recovering from
07:06the surgery they got a young defense they've got a new running back they'll have time to figure
07:11themselves out against bad teams and absolutely hammered in the worst stretch of games any team will get
07:17in the entire nfl this year from weeks 12 through 17 so it just depends on and an early bye
07:23week they
07:24got screwed in two ways and i would say benefited in a couple of ways so it's probably a net
07:29wash and
07:30at least maybe the chiefs will have a chance to get their confidence or familiarity with some players
07:37before they have to go through the difficult stretch yeah i mean i i see a lot of oh this

07:42because it allows my homes to get back from the injury i would i would buy into that more if
07:46we thought
07:47he was gonna miss we already knew gonna miss the first month or two so like oh we're gonna give
07:51him a week five bye because we know he's not gonna be ready till week four that way it gives

07:55extra week and he's ready by week six that's not what's gonna happen we all expect him to play
07:59week one or two of the season so i i they didn't need the they didn't need the quote-unquote

08:05on that now is the schedule very soft in the first 10 to 11 weeks yeah it's not too bad

08:12might be the easiest in the nfl or one of the easiest broncos at home will be tough but then
08:16colts at home road dolphins road raiders by week yeah the chiefs are favorites in 11 games by the
08:21way 11 games this year they're now now it's out there and how many of those are in the first

08:25weeks oh well that's the thing the the broncos game the colts the dolphins the raiders uh the uh
08:30the jets the falcons the uh the cardinals are all easily favorites for the chiefs are easily
08:36favorites i should say over them and depending on how they're playing like the the chargers game
08:39week six at home depending on how the chiefs are playing there's a chance kansas city will be
08:43favorites in that game in fact i actually think they are they are currently they are currently
08:46right now so we'll see my big thing with the schedules i hate the week five by just because
08:50we've talked about this for years the grind now this year they're not in a 17 game schedule they're
08:54not coming off a year in which they played games in january and february like they had been so they
08:58had a longer off season than they normally have so maybe it's not as big of a problem and they
09:02don't
09:02play teams coming off a bye week at all this year which is a nice luxury to have but it's
09:06it's week 12
09:07the 17 that everybody's focused in on understandably so bills on the road on thanksgiving night
09:13thursday night at la against the rams away against sensi three straight road games buffalo rams bangles
09:20home to new england home to san francisco away to la chargers weeks 12 through 17 now one or two
09:27of
09:28those teams will just won't be as good as we think or there's an injury and it all works itself
09:32out you
09:32know yeah like brock purdy won't be available who knows right the chargers will be worse than we
09:36thought something like that so there's i'm convinced there's no way week 12 through 17 is
09:40going to actually live up the exact way we think it is right now yeah it looks like it's one
09:44of the
09:44toughest stretches i've ever seen but there's no way for it to go as bad where it's not the worst
09:48part of their schedule it's going to be the toughest of these teams are worse it's still an awful stretch
09:52and divisional games and road games and you know like everything you could possibly imagine being
09:57thrown at you they definitely need to rack up some wins in the first 10 weeks of the season
10:01based off of the fact that you get the dolphins the raiders and the jets and the cardinals
10:06and falcons all in that same 10 11 weeks that that's massive for them i think we'll know the
10:11quality of this team honestly during the week 6 7 and 8 stretch which is home to the chargers at
10:16seattle at denver i think that'll that'll tell us a lot because when they play the colts the
10:21dolphins and the raiders if the chiefs win those games nationally and locally we're all going to say
10:25okay all right they can beat those but let's see what happens when they have to go and go on
10:30the road
10:30and play the defending super bowl champs or go on the road to denver so i think week 6 7
10:35and 8 if
10:35they get out of that and they've played seven games and they're sitting at five and two or six
10:40and one even if two of the losses are against those two teams well that's the part that would get
10:45me
10:45if they're six and if they're what you said if they're five and two but two of the losses are
10:49against the chargers seahawks or broncos unless the broncos week one win was at home as a part of
10:54that because it would be it is and at 12 30 i know today we're going to go through and
10:56see what number
10:57you would lock in because you know you and i have different feeling just about the team as a whole
11:01like i i think week one the chiefs very likely could lose that game i know they're favorites i
11:06i think there's a chance that they lose to the broncos week one and then they rattle off a bunch
11:10of wins i'll say there's there's some parts of the schedule yeah i think that's not crazy again
11:14they'll be favored in every game for the first they'll be underdogs twice in the first 11 weeks
11:20at seattle and at denver makes sense other than that they will be a favorite or are currently a
11:26favorite in every single game i don't even see a way in which the season could go badly unless they
11:30just stink out loud in which case this part of the schedule and all this other stuff won't even
11:35matter as a part of the conversation i was looking at what do they have going into that stretch
11:40because at least they got the cardinals before the bills and at least they got a full week before
11:47do the rams now that's what i haven't looked at what do the rams play on thanksgiving too
11:51that back-to-back thursday night game are the chiefs going to get the rams on a short week but
11:55they're going to be in a full week because that would be a benefit uh the rams right before they
11:59play the chiefs the rams play the packers at home on a wednesday oh so they got it they play
12:05christmas
12:06or sorry they play uh they play eve they actually get an extra day thanksgiving eve that's even more
12:11annoying somehow so the chiefs are going to actually have one less day of rest despite the fact it's
12:15small i thought maybe the chiefs would have the chance to have the advantage there so whatever but
12:19that means they'll get 10 days rest before cincinnati that's not a bad thing right before they have to
12:23go on the road 10 days a normal amount of rest before new england a normal amount of rest before
12:28san francisco we don't know what time the final two games of the season will be so it's up to
12:33see
12:33those could easily be sunday night flex options or anything else in between but they it's not like
12:38it's a difficult group of teams they're not like running into everybody where they're on short rest
12:44and they're off a bye or they're like they're getting the same amount of time these other teams are
12:49to prepare i guess is what i'm saying i think one of the things sam mcdowell pointed out is something
12:52that is
12:53going to end up mattering which is from week three until week 13 or 14 they only play at home
13:02three times week three to 14 they only play at home three times that that's tough that's a difficult
13:10thing to overcome having to go on the road that much now one of those is a bye week it's
13:14not all
13:14games but goal to only get to play at home three times during that stretch because you start off with
13:19back-to-back home games and you have one less home game than road this year and no international game
13:23they're going to have to be road warriors i guess is what i would say this season and their ability
13:28to travel with their team is going to matter more than it has in a number of years right feels

14:41truly concern that mahomes needed to miss the first month of the season yeah and then you'd be

14:51i think it is softening to say earliest by possible only team with two straight home games to start the
14:57year and only have a few and then just being like it's kind of tough later kind of tough like

15:29that you can that chiefs rams thursday night game could get flexed 28 days out starting to flex that
15:34one out all right if the chiefs would have to be terrible for that to happen yeah i mean it'd

15:50weeks 5 through 10. sunday football can be flexed six days notice weeks 12 through 18.
15:54monday night football well the chiefs already have six prime time games but i don't think teams like to move
15:58this around as much as you think and i think part of the issue with it sounds good on paper
16:02they'll flex these games that you know what happens though is cbs you can't flex any game
16:06you can't steal any game from anybody fox already chose their big game cbs chose their big game i mean

17:26it's a whole different pre-game experience as a bill but it's so unrealistic because your wife
17:31is not letting you leave leave her and the kids on thanksgiving by themselves so you can go jump

18:35that matchup that'd be pretty pretty high on my list there's several good road there's several good
18:42time the 25th your pre-thanksgiving your pre-christmas hell you're not even into like
18:47the halloween week you're not running into any kind of issues with the seattle game

20:50during the game when jamar chase is having a good play yeah i did see a week ago i believe

21:06chase put on the after after that jamar chase said okay i'm locked in they played really good football
21:12the rest of the way cincinnati did after that game chiefs got throttled by jamar chase that was a
21:18super bowl run yeah a lot of people are comparing their schedule to 2021 to the bangles schedule that
21:23was five years ago that's crazy honest to god that is genuinely the biggest issue with believing
21:28in cincinnati is the last time we even discussed them being a part of the afc elite yep was four
21:36years ago which in the nfl that becomes ancient history but also i think that's also why this is
21:42there they have the best rivalry it's been four years and they still don't like each other
21:47that's why that's why it's a better rivalry than then then then i don't think it's a better
21:50the bills just because of what we just talked about i think that's still the issue but like
21:54i don't disagree that it could easily be a better rivalry if cincinnati just mattered it's been i
21:59mean if the bangles were contenders like the last two years then it would easily be the best rival
22:03that the chiefs have hands down but i think the fact that it's still there's still some bad annoying
22:07blood there from four or five years ago it's the i think among fans i don't think you get a
22:13roster
22:13now in kansas city i actually don't think the players on the chiefs roster really give a damn about
22:17cincinnati anymore i think fans do i absolutely think fans do yes fans do but jones and travis
22:22kelsey do like joe burrow they're on record saying that yeah yeah they do really i think it's if you're
22:27just saying like the fans absolutely what once the mayor talks crap on your city and all this kind of
22:32stuff then that's then that's gonna happen jamar jamar chase is still still a place for that team
22:35i don't think i don't know you know my opinion on jamar chase i don't think that defense like jamar
22:39chase honestly pure i think there's still a lot of hate outside of chris jones and joe burrow and
22:43everything like that and that and i know he was he was crazy against your room i think hates joe
22:47burrow it doesn't even matter whether they've played him or not he went off against our various
22:50war but let's also not ignore that just like the last time i played trent mcduffey shut jamar chase
22:53his ass down the other the other part is like genuinely if cincinnati goes another year where
22:58they miss the playoffs and they don't matter well then i'm done discussing them a part of the other
23:01afc teams they don't deserve to be a part of the conversation they don't deserve to be a part of

23:09they and being being coming in there i understand that if joe burrow's healthy then there it's a
23:13different team but they don't belong in the conversation because they haven't shown it

23:23moves they made yeah but it you need to see it to believe a thing it's the same thing with
23:29with some of the other teams that we talk about i need to actually see it happen for me to

23:32it again like i'm not going to predict the bangles to win the super bowl this year because
23:36yeah they haven't they haven't shown anything other than putting together a roster that can do it but
23:42until they go out and they win the division again or they win they make the playoffs then right you
23:46know the jury's still out on them just the same as it is for the chargers just the same as
23:50it is for
23:51can can the ravens actually win a playoff game with lamar jackson again here recently they haven't
23:55been able to do that either all right come on
