00:00All right, I want to play a couple of Adam Schefter cuts here
00:04while we're talking about Rasheed Rice.
00:06I want to read this text to you guys.
00:09CDOT, I think he may have done this on purpose.
00:12He just had surgery, can't do OTA,
00:14so you might as well force your way to the 30 days.
00:17Now, I've never been on probation before,
00:20so maybe I am off in this.
00:23I just wouldn't advise you to purposely break
00:27your probation rules.
00:30Especially when they've given you so much freedom.
00:34If he wanted to do his 30 days,
00:37he didn't have to violate his probation.
00:40He just could have turned himself in.
00:44He just could have turned himself in.
00:47You didn't have to go through all of that.
00:49If you wanted to get your 30 days out,
00:51and this was known by the Chiefs,
00:54and this was known by your agent, lawyer,
00:57and people that are advising you,
00:59I certainly hope you are not paying lawyers
01:01to tell you, yeah, just go ahead
01:03and violate the terms of your probation
01:05if you want to do this.
01:07You didn't have to do that.
01:10They gave you a sweetheart deal
01:12for your probation, in my opinion.
01:14You got to pay damages for what you did,
01:17and then they gave you other rules to follow.
01:20You put yourself in this situation.
01:22Keep your head down.
01:23Do what you're supposed to do.
01:24You get off probation,
01:25and then go back to living the rest of your life.
01:30So the theory of he did this to trigger something,
01:37it just doesn't make any sense to me.
01:40I just don't know why you would do something like that,
01:43because I'm guessing you now run the risk
01:45of putting yourself with more possible time of probation.
01:50Like, I don't know every single ins and out of his deal,
01:53but I'm going to guess the more you violate your probation,
01:57the longer they can keep that cloud over you.
02:01I don't know about you.
02:02I'd be trying to do everything in my power
02:04to get this either reduced or removed,
02:07not possibly extended.
02:10Some of you smoke weed.
02:12Are you regularly getting tested,
02:14and at any time somebody can walk up to you
02:17and just say, hey, pee in this cup,
02:18and if you test positive, you can go to jail.
02:21Stop it.
02:21It's silly.
02:23It's silly to me.
02:24Just the logic to me just doesn't add up.
02:28It just doesn't make a lot of sense,
02:30and I don't know why if you're Rasheed Rice,
02:34you would do anything that, A,
02:36would keep your name in the news.
02:37I'd be trying to do the exact opposite
02:39if I'm Rasheed Rice from a public standpoint.
02:42I just would do that,
02:43and I just don't know why you would do anything
02:46that continues the assertion that you can't be trusted
02:50and we shouldn't give you a lot of money.
02:54Does this help Rasheed Rice get a big contract
02:57or hurt Rasheed Rice when it comes to getting a big contract?
03:01Does this make you more likely to want to pay him,
03:04or does this make you less likely want to pay him?
03:07I hope that joint was worth it because it costs you more money.
03:12If there's one thing Rasheed Rice does not need any help with,
03:15it is burning money.
03:17He does not need any help.
03:18He's been doing that just fine on his own.
03:21He did that when he got in the car back in March of 2024.
03:25He did that with that Instagram post with him and his girlfriend.
03:29You've done enough of hurting your brand and hurting it.
03:34Now, purposely trying to manipulate the probation thing,
03:38it's stupid to me, honestly.
03:39That's stupid.
03:41That's one of the worst things I think you could do if you're him.
03:44Here's Adam Schefter.
03:45He was on the Pat McAfee show.
03:47He thinks that Rice has squandered his chance of getting paid.
03:50Here's a guy when we see wide receiver salaries exploding across the league,
03:58and he's just about as good as any receiver in the league,
04:02and he's entering the last year of his contract.
04:05If we just took away all the off-the-field incidents,
04:11all the mishigas that comes along with it,
04:14then you'd be talking about a player right now
04:17who would be getting an extension this offseason
04:21at somewhere between $35 million and $40 million, I guess.
04:25And so now, instead of getting that extension,
04:28which isn't going to be coming anytime soon,
04:31he's going to be now in a jail cell rehabbing an injury
04:37going into the last year of his contract
04:40without a new deal on the horizon.
04:42And it's really unfortunate.
04:45It's all there for him.
04:46I'm not trying to be funny.
04:48Who do you think is talking to Rasheed Rice?
04:53Like, who do you think the OG mentor,
04:57scared, straight individual is for Rasheed Rice?
05:02Who do you think the Chiefs should call in?
05:05Because just hearing that from Adam Schefter
05:08would have to make you sick.
05:11The decision-making for Rasheed Rice
05:13has cost him tens of millions of dollars in his life
05:18that he will never have the opportunity to get back.
05:22He will never have the chance to go back and get that bread.
05:25It is gone forever.
05:27Now, that's not to say you still can't make good money.
05:31Maybe you're in there.
05:32You have a come-to-Jesus meeting.
05:34You have an epiphany.
05:35And you've changed your life.
05:37Plenty of people have done it before.
05:39Who do you think that person is?
05:41Because I'm guessing Patrick has tried to talk to you
05:43at some point.
05:44Like, just as friends, as boys.
05:46Hey, we're both from Texas.
05:47Hey, your success is tied to my success.
05:50I want to help you out.
05:51I want to...
05:52I'm a leader.
05:53So, I want to help you get there.
05:55I'm guessing Patrick and him have had that conversation.
05:58But Rasheed...
05:59Stay off the weed!
06:03Can't do it.
06:04I'm going to guess that Travis Kelsey
06:06has also tried to have this conversation.
06:08I would certainly hope you had this conversation.
06:10You were wearing free Rasheed Rice shirts last year.
06:13I would hope at some point, in a private moment,
06:16you guys are always around each other,
06:18on the plane, in OTAs, in minicamp.
06:21I'm sure you got each other's number.
06:23I'm sure Travis, at some point,
06:24has had this conversation with you.
06:26But you can't.
06:27Stay off the weed!
06:30Who do you think his OG is?
06:32Who's his mentor?
06:33Who's the person you want to come in
06:35and talk to Rasheed Rice
06:36to help him get his career back on track?
06:40I don't know the answer.
06:42Because if you're not listening to what we presume
06:45is Patrick Mahomes telling you this,
06:46if you're not listening to what we presume
06:48is Travis Kelsey telling you this,
06:50if you're not listening to Eric Biennemi, Andy Reid,
06:53Andy Reid was on the show last week
06:55saying we don't have to tell him that.
06:56He knows better.
06:58If you're not listening to those people
07:00who probably, in some form or fashion,
07:02have already communicated this to you,
07:05if you're just ignoring them
07:07and keep chugging along with life,
07:09what name can I say is going to break through?
07:12Because you were at Camp Pat a couple years ago.
07:15You're in Dallas.
07:16All the stuff.
07:18And it's still happening.
07:20So I don't know I have a name
07:22because any name you can think of,
07:24I can say, well, if he didn't listen to Patrick Mahomes,
07:26why is he listening to that guy?
07:27He didn't listen to Andy Reid.
07:28Why is he listening to that guy?
07:29He didn't listen to his college coach
07:30because he had problems in college too.
07:32I don't know there is a name that can break through.
07:35I don't know if the text line is joking or not,
07:37but somebody says currently his mentor is Josh Gordon.
07:41I wouldn't be listening to that man.
07:45You know who I thought of?
07:47I would have him talk to Dante Stallworth.
07:50That's what I haven't talked to.
07:52Dante Stallworth.
07:53Dante Stallworth did something really, really bad.
07:57Came out on the other side.
07:59Having a very successful life.
08:03That's who I would have him talk to.
08:05Like, this is serious.
08:07To me, this conversation goes beyond football.
08:12This is like when you watch a movie
08:14and you can see the main character of the movie
08:16spiraling out of control.
08:19The theme to me of Scarface is
08:22somebody has so much success
08:26and then in the second half of the movie,
08:28you can see them just start chipping away
08:31because of, A, their own drug use, paranoia,
08:35and not listening to the people around you.
08:40You are seeing somebody in real time.
08:43Like, I know we bring this up sometimes as a joke.
08:46It was not that long ago the text line was adamant.
08:50He was a top 10 receiver in the league.
08:52Again, I'm not even saying this to,
08:54oh, ha, ha, ha, you were wrong.
08:55It was not that long ago the text line was arguing
08:58he was better than Amon Ross St. Brown.
08:59It was not that long ago the text line was arguing
09:02he was better than Terry McLaurin
09:03and some of these other guys.
09:04All right, well then, cool.
09:06Do you want to know how much money
09:07these other guys are making then?
09:10I mean, Terry McLaurin just got three for $97 million.
09:15Amon Ross St. Brown,
09:17one of the best receivers in the league.
09:19He signed for four for 120.
09:22That could have been Rasheed Rice.
09:24Stay healthy, stay out of trouble, stay productive.
09:28And if you had done those three things,
09:31Rasheed Rice would have got the bag.
09:34But we have spent way too much time
09:37over the last two and a half years
09:39talking more about Rasheed Rice
09:41and what he is doing in his personal time
09:43than what he is doing at work and for the company.
09:47And that's a problem with Rasheed Rice.
09:50We got some phone calls.
09:51And that's a number of comments over here.
09:51We got some more concerns in Rasheed R mio.ees.
