00:00Uh, my, I'm excited. I, and I know you're excited about this as well,

00:03because another schedule leak came out last night.

00:05And for those just waking up, I just saw this this morning as well.

00:08I saw it when I woke up.

00:09Yeah. Got it. Got up this morning.

00:10And this is one of the first things I saw it. I'm like, all right,

00:13here we go. Let's talk about it.

00:15And it's going to be the chiefs and bills Thanksgiving night in Buffalo at

00:18their new stadium. I got those hearts. That's awesome.

00:22I'm a little surprised. I'm a little surprised. It's Thanksgiving.

00:25Really? Okay. Cause it's such a premier matchup. I mean,

00:28they did this last year with chiefs Cowboys, like, okay,

00:30you're using this Thanksgiving. Like they really wanted to kind of shoot it to

00:32the moon. Let's see what we can do. It's kind of what they're doing again.

00:35I, I, I get it, but yeah, this game would do numbers any Thursday, Sunday,

00:40Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter.

00:44Whatever watching this game. Yeah, they are. And so what game is Thanksgiving?

00:47Eva, is that going to be a Netflix game? Is that going to be a peacock game?

00:51I'm sure it's going to be some sort of standalone game.

00:53I would imagine being on a Thursday night and being, you know,

00:56Netflix having all the Thursday night games.

00:58I would imagine it's probably on Netflix, but I can be, Oh,

01:01it's on NBC. Okay. Jordan Schultz. Okay. So the big, uh, the big, uh,

01:06you know, TV station, right? Not, not a streamer, the real TV station.

01:10So they're going for a number is what the, uh, the NFL is doing this game.

01:13Yeah. They're, they're going for a number in this game.

01:15And yeah, there's a good chance. There is a great number in this game.

01:18If both teams live up to their, you know, end of the bargain Mac,

01:20there's a real opportunity that this Thanksgiving night game in both.

01:23Oh my God. I'm already excited. I can't even contain the excitement of Thanksgiving

01:28night in Buffalo. Like that is a bad ass football game.

01:33I may leave the family Thanksgiving in Jersey and drive the six hours to get up

01:37there for that game. Yeah. You should consider that. Actually,

01:40that would be awesome. That would be bad-ass. Yeah. I'm okay with it.

01:43Like the holiday games. I'm a little over,

01:46but Thanksgiving is a day that already is so dedicated and like predicated upon like

01:50football. So I'm okay with that Christmas and miss me with that.

01:54But Thanksgiving, like I'm already going to be watching football.

01:55It's a part of the holiday. It's a part of the tradition.

01:58We're all expected to sit on the couch and get in our Turkey comas and fall

02:01asleep to the Cowboys losing to somebody. Right.

02:03That is part of the day. So yeah, I'm excited that Friday night,

02:07that should be by, you know, eating early afternoon.

02:09You take a little Thursday night. Yeah. What did I say? Friday night. Oh yeah.

02:13So, uh, Thursday night, whatever Thanksgiving night, you eat early afternoon,

02:18you get your little nap in, you wake up, you get your cocktail and it's,

02:21it's time to go. Yeah. And it's a hell of a slate too, for Thanksgiving day.

02:24I mean, of course, on the surface, we're looking at, you know,

02:27teams we think are going to be good, but you got, you know,

02:29you got the bears and lions to start this thing off.

02:31That's the first game of the day. That is a great divisional game.

02:34I mean,

02:34there's nothing that screams Thanksgiving day more than the Chicago bears at the

02:38Detroit lions. Like that just that's Turkey, baby. That's stuffing.

02:42That's turducken. Like that's America right there. That should be a good one.

02:45That's the way it should be right. That,

02:46that could be for first place in the division. Yeah.

02:48That division is going to be wild. That NFC North, man,

02:51that thing is going to be insanely awesome and a lot of fun.

02:53And I think it just got better based on something that was said yesterday that

02:57I'm actually looking forward to discussing later on in the show.

03:00Then you've got the Eagles at Cowboys.

03:01That's a great divisional matchup battle for last place.

03:04And then you finish that off with the,

03:06because the giants will be undefeated at that time and running away with the

03:09division. So the Eagles and Cowboys will be playing for seventh place in the

03:13NFC. And then you've got the Buffalo bills and Kansas city chiefs.

03:16Uh, from Buffalo, what a, what a nightcap is right, man.

03:20I mean, that is going to be outstanding.

03:22And maybe this is the first time in a while we go up to Buffalo in the regular

03:25season and get a win.

03:26Or do we not want to get a win just to keep the thing going and just take care

03:29of business in the playoffs again. Right.

03:30And you, you, you forgot as well on, they're calling it Thanksgiving Eve.

03:35Yes. It'll be on Netflix Packers at Rams Packers at Rams the night before

03:38Thanksgiving. How do you feel about that one?

03:40Cause of all the holiday games, Mac, I'll be honest with you.

03:42I don't like that one Wednesday, Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

03:46That's a big going out night. That's a big, you know, doing your thing.

03:49Everybody's in town. You're hanging out with people you haven't seen back in the

03:53day. It was the Brookside around Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Eve.

03:55And it won. Oh my God. It was, I mean,

03:58it was the place to be in the early two thousands, the boom, boom room.

04:01Like everybody was back in town. It was an S show down there.

04:04I mean, it was, I mean, it was as good as it gets. Maloney used to run around with a

04:07tie

04:08on his head. You know, that type of stuff. Usually by the end of the night, no shirt

04:12things that were going on in the boom, boom room in the early two thousands of the

04:16Brookside or on the night before Thanksgiving.

04:18That's the kind of stuff that I think a lot of people like the night before

04:21Thanksgiving, no matter where, where you live. If you're coming back into town,

04:24you haven't seen people you're going out, maybe with your family, you're doing a

04:27dinner, you know, your dad's toasting your mom the night before Thanksgiving,

04:31telling her how great of an organizer she is. I mean, like those are things that,

04:34that people do the night before Thanksgiving Wednesday. Yeah. So if I'm looking at,

04:39yeah, exactly. And you wake up on Thanksgiving morning and you don't know what the

04:43hell happened last night and you're looking around, you're going, who are these

04:45people again? Let's see. I'm so okay. And everybody's hung over Thanksgiving and

04:50didn't you eat and you feel better and you, you go about your day. So like of all the

04:53holidays, I know people are like anti Christmas or maybe anti Thanksgiving for

04:57these games. I'm anti the night before Thanksgiving. Cause I just know how big a

05:02party night it is. And it's cool. The game will be on. It'll be a background. I

05:07think game for a lot of people, if it's not your team, it's a little bit better

05:11because you don't have to focus on it. You can still do all the, you know, all

05:14the reveling that you do on the night before Thanksgiving, but you know, that

05:17that's the one. And then I'm not really that mad about it, but if I'm ranking

05:20which ones I don't like when it comes to the holiday games, yeah, it is the night

05:23before. It's also a big travel day for a lot of people, right? Huge travel. People

05:27are bouncing all over the country and doing their thing. And so it's just, um,

05:31you know, I think it's 7 PM or 8 PM there. No, not everyone. No, but a lot of

05:36people are driving and they're going to leave early. I know that that's what we

05:38did as a family. We always drove and we leave at 5 AM and we get to our

05:42destination in the early afternoon, settle in. And by that time you've eaten

05:45dinner and Hey Packers is Ram's on. We're not going to go blackout Wednesday. We

05:49drove for 10 hours today. All right, let's turn this game on and end our night and

05:51our night like that. Yeah. So yeah, people will be driving. A lot of people

05:54be flying stuck in an airport. So at least you have something to watch at the

05:56airport bar while you're, yep, exactly right. While you're doing that. And so,

06:00you know, it's fine. It is. I'm just saying like, yeah, if I had to choose, I

06:04don't, but if I had to choose, like that's the one I look at, oh man, that's such a

06:08great party night and everybody's doing their thing the night before

06:10Thanksgiving. So we got that just joining us bills and chiefs at Buffalo

06:14Thanksgiving night, NBC to close out what should be a very good

06:19Thanksgiving day slate. That'll probably be a top five regular season

06:22game ratings wise. Yeah, maybe. Yeah. Look, I don't know how they do the

06:26ratings anymore, but every game is bigger than the last one. It seems like

06:29right. Every event is the biggest of all time. The NBA ratings in May top 10

06:34sports programs. How many were NBA playoff games?

06:40I hope, I hope half. You're wrong. All of them. Yay. Woo. Every, well, what other

06:47sporting events are in May that would be other than the, you know, the Kentucky

06:50Derby or Derby. Yeah. I'm surprised the Derby. Maybe. Yeah. That maybe the Derby

06:54was in there, but I just saw something that said in early May that shows the

06:57NBA's, you know, top 10. I'm like, oh wow, that's good. I mean, people are

07:00watching the last night. I mean, my God, great game. James Harden was

07:04phenomenal. It goes to overtime and Cleveland now has two opportunities to

07:08win that thing. Really one opportunity to win that thing. Because if you go to

07:12game seven, I think Detroit wins that. So Cleveland's got to take care of

07:14business in game six, but the Knicks are sitting back going, oh my God, if

07:17Cleveland wins this thing, we open at home on what Sunday. Is that what it

07:21would be? No, not Sunday because Friday's game six. So Sunday would be game

07:26seven. So you're talking Tuesday or Wednesday, either way you're opening at the

07:30garden instead of on the road. That's a huge bonus for the Knicks and a huge

07:33bonus for the casual NBA fan and a huge bonus for the league. And when was their

07:37last game? Sunday? Did they win the series Sunday or Monday? Sunday, Mother's

07:40Day. Yeah, that was it. So, wow. So if they don't have to play till Wednesday,

07:45that's 10 days. That's the Russ versus rest conversation. Everybody's going to have

07:49that conversation, right? The Russ versus rest. Speaking of dumb conversations, the

07:54Denver Broncos fan done lost their mind. Every year in the NFL, we seemingly have a

07:59new kind of twist or topic or something that we've talked about that we've never

08:03talked about before, right? I can't remember what it was last year, but I know I

08:06have this conversation all the time where we're talking about things that we've

08:09never talked about. Since when does winning the division guarantee you a home

08:12opener game? I mean, the Broncos fans are absolutely losing their minds. They look

08:17like the biggest stooges out there, the biggest buffoons out there complaining

08:21about what's going on when it comes to, you know, going on with the Chiefs having

08:25the opener here at Arrowhead. I'd rather be in Denver because I want to beat their ass on

08:30the road and start the season that way. But I mean, good Lord, this guy at Daily

08:34Broncos, I wholeheartedly believe the Chiefs are no longer a threat to the

08:38Broncos. I think the tides have completely turned. Bo Nix will have a better

08:41career at this point going forward than Mahomes. We are the champs last year, and

08:45that won't change. Bookmark this. The champs of the West? Whoop-dee-doo.

08:50Whoa. Wow. You beat three other teams, too, that were, you know, not really good last year

08:55and another one that has a wandering coach. Okay. You're an idiot. You don't know what

08:59you're talking about. And so this reaction, Mac, I mean, it's sick. It's insane. The reaction

09:05of these Denver fans, they're down bad, bro. Like really down bad out there in Denver about

09:11this game. I'd never knew there was a rule that because you won the division, you get

09:15the home opener. Shut the F up, man. Like I don't want to hear, I don't want to hear about

09:20other teams complaining about our schedule when we, in the last two years, in the last

09:24two years, have played three games in 12 days, three games in 12 days, multiple times. Then

09:30last year, people forget this Arizona and Seattle for preseason, then Brazil to start

09:35the regular season. So I don't want to hear about the schedule back to back Superbowl appearances,

09:41back to back to back Superbowl appearances. Yes. Three straight Superbowl appearances. Go

09:45to Seattle for a preseason game, then come home, then go to Arizona for a preseason game,

09:51then come home and then go to Brazil to start your regular season. Right. I don't want to

09:54hear anybody bitching about the schedule out there in Denver, Denver, man. I'll be honest

09:58with you. It's like, it's like new rent fans out there. You know, like that's what's happening.

10:02You mentioned the casuals yesterday. Yes, that's, that's, that's what's happening. Denver got

10:07good. The casual showed up out of the mountains and all of a sudden are bitching about the

10:11schedule. There's never been a rule that if you win the division, you

10:15host on Monday night football, the next season, the only rule is the team who wins the Superbowl

10:20has the first game. That's the one guarantee. Everything else is up in the air. I'm so over

10:24this. It's ridiculous. I can't believe it's gone this far. It's insane. You win one average

10:28division. The chargers worst offensive line of football. Everyone's hurt. Raiders. One

10:31of the worst teams in all of football, maybe the worst day, the number one pick

10:36chiefs lost the best player in the league for a quarter of the year. So yeah, it's, it's ridiculous.

10:42Denver's out there, you know, down bad. Yeah. I mean, really down. I did book market. I did book

10:47market. I'm very, yeah. Okay. Yeah. I did what he said down bad. Put down the weed out there in

10:51Denver and let your mind clear up a little bit and see what exactly is going on. But also too,

10:56what a great way to start the season, a Superbowl rematch. I love this. You're in. Oh God. Yes. I

11:01love

11:02it. So what you should start the season. You, it's on the schedule. You just had that game.

11:07Do you have an opportunity for a rematch? Let's do it, man. I think it's really fun and

11:12you can bill it. Let's pick up where we left off. Yeah. You can have that whole story arc. I

11:18like it.

11:19I think it's fun. You don't like it. I don't. Yeah. I'm kind of, I kind of, why I'm not

11:22in on this

11:22because I just think it would be a better game later in the season. And again, it may not be

11:26though.

11:27Well, but cause this Vrabel stuff could get out of hand as the season goes along and they could

11:30lose that team fast. That's fine. That's, that's, that's, that may be true, but also you don't

11:35know that this game is going to be great. Now it wasn't great in the Superbowl. You're right. So I

11:38don't know. I didn't say it was going to be great. I like the allure opening. I wish the chiefs

11:43would

11:43have opened against Superbowl opponents from the prior year when they had that home game and the

11:47opportunity to do so. I think that that kind of stuff is fun. It's fresh in everybody's mind too. And

11:51you're

11:52right. That Superbowl stunk. It was terrible. Do we want to see that game again? I don't know.

11:56And you can, you can get the Superbowl rematch again, like for ratings wise, I just think

12:00this would be a game that you could stick in week three or four and get huge ratings. And

12:03instead, cause the first game of the year is going to be, it's going to be watched. It

12:07doesn't matter who you stick out there. We're going to, we're going to be hungry for NFL.

12:10So again, a little weird on the strategy, but it looks like they are going for the moon

12:14on these big event games, which I will not let distract me or let allure me from the fact

12:20of the reality is that they are over inundating us with football and international games and holidays.

12:26And that's really what we need to talk about. And we will not these seven, eight, nine events that

12:31they're going to stick in front of us. Whoa, 55 million people. The NFL has never been better.

12:34No, those are events. We always will come to events. Yep. Yep. And, and I think the, the

12:41average football fan, I say average, that's us the normal football fan. I think there's a lot

12:44of people that are like, all right, man, really? You're making me jump through all of these hoops.

12:49It's becoming a bigger story by the day. And we'll address that as we move along.
