00:00Maloney texted me about the Boom Boom Room days.
00:02Oh, buddy, he did me too.
00:04Oh, did he?
00:04Because all I'm thinking about is back in those days,
00:07Maloney and I were down in the Boom Boom Room,
00:09and you were still in the Boom Boom Room.
00:11I mean, like...
00:14That was a good one.
00:17Well, that's what I texted Rob.
00:18I was like, Rob, I wish I could have freaking partied with you in the Boom Boom Room.
00:23Dang.
00:24Sounds awesome.
00:25He's still in the Boom Boom Room era of life.
00:27I was going to say, I think he'd still go back there with me.
00:30Hey, Rob, what era are you in?
00:32I'm in my Boom Boom Room era, and I never left.
00:34I wish I never left either.
00:36Flex it, baby.
00:37Flex it.
00:39So 15 minutes, we'll hear from that crazy upset caller about what went on last night on Verne's show.
00:46Yeah, Verne was hearing it all over the place.
00:47I'd like to give credit to our listeners when I can,
00:50and this is one of our guys, Casey Weedologist on X,
00:53points out who you win is who he goes by.
00:56And there's a graphic from NFL on CBS,
00:58and it says, these players have dominated the last decade, Mac, right?
01:02And it's most receiving yards over the last 10 seasons in the NFL.
01:06Number one on that list, Devontae Adams, 11,704 yards.
01:10Pretty big number, right?
01:11Huge.
01:11Yeah, it's a good number.
01:12Awesome.
01:121100 yards a year over the last 10 years.
01:1410 years.
01:14It's great.
01:15Tyree Kill comes in at number two on that list.
01:1711,363 yards.
01:20Pretty impressive.
01:21Pretty impressive.
01:23You ready for the most impressive one?
01:24Yes.
01:25Third on the list, Travis Kelsey.
01:2811,265 yards.
01:31Come on, baby.
01:31He is less than 500 yards shy of having the most receiving yards in the last decade,
01:37even comparing it to wide receivers.
01:40The debate on who the greatest tight end of all time is, is officially over.
01:45It should have never not been over, but this is a great visual.
01:51And for everyone else, this is just a great way to know that he is.
01:56Because every other, you got Mike Evans, your Hall of Famer.
01:58You got Stefan Diggs, one of the best wide receivers.
01:59DeAndre Hopkins was the best wide receiver in the league for two years in the last decade there.
02:04Easily, he's a Hall of Famer, just under 10,000 yards.
02:07And you've got Travis Kelsey, a tight end.
02:09There's not another tight end on this list all the way down to Cooper Cup at 10 with a little
02:12over 8,000 yards.
02:14He's got almost 3,000 yards more than Cooper Cup, who had a triple crown.
02:19He had one of the best wide receiver seasons we've seen this century.
02:23So, yeah, Travis Kelsey, he continues to define what being an amazing tight end is,
02:30not only for his prime, but for past it.
02:33How do you define?
02:34We talk about reinventing yourself.
02:36Yeah.
02:36He's been able to do that before he was really truly himself with Alex Smith,
02:42finding his swag and his groove in this new improvisational with Mahomes sort of peak,
02:48one of the best duos of all time.
02:50And now to after that, to maybe, you know, I'm a step slower.
02:53But, man, I know how to get your body weight going in a direction,
02:56and then I'm going to flip the other way, that little fake left, fake right,
02:58or whatever it may be, using that IQ and that knowledge over 11,000 yards is absolutely nuts.
03:03It's nuts, and it's amazing what he could do, you know, now.
03:06He could essentially pass Tyree Kill, obviously, because he's got a busted leg.
03:10Yeah.
03:10And then you've got Devontae Adams, you know, where's he playing these days?
03:14San Francisco, or L.A., right?
03:15L.A., yeah.
03:15Still in L.A.
03:33Just the fact that Kelsey could end up number one on the end of this season as a tight end
03:37ends the debate of who the greatest tight end of all time is.
03:40There is no reason to have that conversation anymore.
03:43There's nobody, in my opinion, that you can even put in that category
03:47when it comes to the greatest of all time based on what we're watching with Travis Kelsey.
03:52And we talk about Mahomes all the time.
03:54We talk about Bobby Witt all the time.
03:56We're watching another great, one of the greatest of all time in the NFL
04:00and the greatest at his position.
04:02I mean, there's a good chance, Mac, that when this thing is all said and done,
04:05we've had the greatest head coach, the greatest quarterback, and the greatest tight end,
04:11not throughout the organizational history, on the field at the same time.
04:15All playing together.
04:17Yes.
04:17All on the field at the same time.
04:19It's truthfully unbelievable.
04:21I will give another shout-out.
04:22Travis Kelsey deserves it.
04:23He is the GOAT, because it's not just the regular season, by the way.
04:25Right.
04:26You go to the playoffs.
04:26He's got the most playoff receiving yards.
04:28He's got the most touchdowns amongst tight ends.
04:29He's got, amongst receivers, he's up there on all those lists with Jerry Reitz
04:32as far as playoff touchdowns.
04:34Like, he is another echelon.
04:37He is another tier above those guys.
04:39Gronkowski in his peak.
04:40Yeah, if you want to take Gronk Prime versus Kelsey Prime, yeah,
04:43let's have a conversation about which time did you want for those two- or three-year periods.
04:46Yeah.
04:47But that's the difference.
04:48Gronkowski was, what, in four Super Bowls?
04:49He got to play in, what, two of them?
04:50Because he wasn't healthy.
04:51He could not make it a full season.
04:53It sucks, but the way he played, the way his body was, he wasn't able to last.
04:58And, I mean, he's the same age as Travis Kelsey.
05:00Today.
05:01Right now.
05:01Right now.
05:02They're the same age.
05:02And he's been retired for a long time.
05:04Four or five seasons he's been retired.
05:06Kelsey's winning Super Bowls.
05:07He's breaking playoff records.
05:09And he's still being relied on as one of the top weapons on a team that is going to make
05:15the playoffs this year and will contend for the division.
05:17I'll shout out another guy on this list because you mentioned it's 10, the last 10 years, right?
05:21Yeah.
05:21Here's the top 10.
05:22Justin Jefferson comes in at 9.
05:24Yeah.
05:248,480.
05:26You're like, wait, last 10 seasons.
05:27Yeah.
05:28Jefferson got in in 2020.
05:30He's only played six seasons and he's on this list.
05:32And he's on the list.
05:33He's on this list.
05:35Now, Jamar Chase, one less year.
05:37I just want to just define this gap because we always talk about Jamar Chase, Justin Jefferson.
05:41One less season for Jamar Chase.
05:43Justin Jefferson has 1,600 more yards than Jamar Chase in one season more.
05:501,600 more yards.
05:51I hate to say this, Jamar Chase has played with much better quarterbacks.
05:56He's had Joe Burrow.
05:57He's had.
05:58I know Burrow's been injured, but you had Joe Flacco.
06:01And he's going to be on the quarterback this year, season three.
06:04And Jake Browning was.
06:05Jake Browning was good.
06:06Was really good for that season.
06:07Yep.
06:07Like they went above 500.
06:09Yep.
06:09With Jake Browning.
06:10So miss me with that.
06:11I mean, he came into Kansas City and played a great game.
06:13Jake Browning did.
06:14Jake Browning was outstanding that day in KC, man.
06:16Yeah, I was at that game.
06:16That sucked.
06:17So was I.
06:17Yeah, I was like, what the hell is this?
06:19Who's this guy?
06:20But no, and he played pretty well that whole year.
06:23And then you've got Justin Jefferson.
06:25I mean, other than Kirk Cousins, you've got a lot of, who's this guy?
06:28What's going on?
06:29Nick Bolins?
06:30Josh Jobs?
06:30What happened last year?
06:32Yes, exactly.
06:33So yeah, that is another impressive, like, damn, Justin Jefferson is truthfully going to be an all-timer when it's
06:40all said and done.
06:40I hope he's got the playoff success to back it up.
06:42I hope that happens.
06:43I hope so, too.
06:44But nonetheless, Travis Kelsey is, I mean, it's just, it's simple.
06:47He's the greatest tight end of all time, and when you see the numbers like that, you truly realize what
06:52we're living in.
06:52And that's why, again, as we talk about this upcoming season and what we're looking forward to when it comes
06:57to the Chiefs, I tell you what I'm looking forward to, watching Travis go out there again.
07:00And I think Travis is going to have himself another year.
07:02People look at last year, they go, he didn't have such a great year.
07:04He had almost 900 yards receiving, right?
07:06Wasn't he close to pushing 1,000 and was still the leading receiver?
07:10You know, he had a hell of a season last year.
07:13Wasn't a perfect season by any stretch of the means, but even in a non-perfect season, Travis Kelsey was
07:18still out there dominating when he needed to go out there and play ball.
07:21And this year, with new coaches at the wide receiver and running back position, Eric Bien-Ami back in the
07:27fold, an offensive line now that you feel like you can trust, legitimate running backs out there,
07:31I think we're going to have an opportunity to see Travis Kelsey maybe go out in style and finish this
07:36thing with a 1,000-yard season.
07:38And that would be something really special to have him go.
07:42He gets 1,000 yards.
07:43I mean, my God.
07:44At 36 years old?
07:45At 36 years old?
07:46Man.
07:46Just send him to Canton right now.
07:48Yeah, do it.
07:49Sign him up.
07:49Not that we have to, you know, not send him to Canton, but it's time to send Travis Kelsey to
07:54Canton, Ohio.
07:54He is the greatest tight end of all time, and that debate now is officially over.
07:59Come on.
