00:00Can I read to you guys this news story?
00:03This came from Matt Foster.
00:04We were having our show prep meeting.
00:07And Nathan, who I don't know what gave him the feeling he could do this
00:11or the empowerment, Matt spoke at a turn.
00:15It usually goes my turn, Speck's turn, back to me, back to Speck,
00:22and then Nathan just writes stuff down.
00:25But Nathan was like, excuse me.
00:27That's how he said it, just like that.
00:28Excuse me.
00:29He said, have you seen this?
00:31I snapped that up.
00:32No, I ain't seen it.
00:33He was like, well, I'm sorry.
00:35He said, I've got to tell you about Rasheed Rice.
00:37I was like, what is it?
00:39This is what he read to me.
00:42Breaking.
00:43Chiefs wide receiver Rasheed Rice has violated his probation
00:46after testing positive for marijuana.
00:49Rasheed Rice has been ordered to serve 30 days in jail,
00:53meaning he will miss Chiefs OTAs and mandatory minicamp.
00:59Nathan, hit the music, please.
01:03Roll another blunt.
01:05Yeah.
01:08Okay.
01:13I was going to go to minicamp, but I was high.
01:18I was going to get 1,000 yards, but I got high.
01:24How is he always in the nukes?
01:29All we wanted from Rasheed Rice was to stay off TMZ.
01:34All we wanted for Rasheed Rice was to walk the straight and narrow.
01:38Bro, I knew nothing good was going to come from last week.
01:43He was in New Orleans and he posted a picture on Bourbon Street.
01:47I knew no good was going to come of it.
01:49I knew it was a terrible idea, but you got to let people live their lives.
01:53You're free.
01:54You're 20 something.
01:55You're a millionaire.
01:56You're entitled to go to Bourbon Street.
01:59I should have known.
02:01They probably called him immediately when he got back from New Orleans,
02:05right after he had a beignet, right after he had a po' boy.
02:08Hey, we need you to come in here real quick.
02:11I don't care if you smoke weed.
02:12I really don't care if you smoke marijuana.
02:15It's not part of my life, but if you choose to smoke weed, that's fine.
02:21But my brother, marijuana is illegal in the state of Texas.
02:29And if there is a place that we know doesn't play about these things,
02:33it's the state of Texas.
02:35My boy, you are on probation.
02:38This is a contract year.
02:41This is a very important off season.
02:44Listen, just a month ago, you got the clear from the National Football League.
02:49You don't remember that?
02:51When your baby mama was on Instagram talking about how you put her hands on her?
02:55You don't remember?
02:58You got manna from heaven.
03:01The NFL said, you know what?
03:02We believe your side of events.
03:05We're going to leave you alone.
03:06Now, I'm guessing in this conversation, they gave you a small talking to.
03:12Just last week, Andy Reid was on this show.
03:16And one of the questions I had for him is, have you communicated to Rasheed Rice how important
03:23this off season is?
03:24Have you communicated to your number one wide receiver?
03:28What is at stake here?
03:29We're talking about tens of millions of dollars.
03:32But no, he had to go stop it from the earth.
03:36Yeah, well, you don't have to do too much talk on that.
03:38I mean, he knows.
03:39You know, nobody knows better than the player in those situations.
03:42And so it's important, though, that he just keeps showing up and doing his thing.
03:47And so he's been doing that.
03:49He's been here the whole offseason.
03:53And he's a great player.
03:55It's just a matter of making sure everything's taken care of.
03:58And he can keep himself on the field.
04:01Did Andy Reid think that I was asking him about Nick Bolton?
04:06You don't have to have those conversations with Nick Bolton.
04:09You don't have to have those, hey, why don't you stay out of the news off seasons?
04:14I don't know what Nick Bolton does in his free time, but we'd never hear about it.
04:19It's not on TMZ.
04:2141 News is not covering it.
04:23Nick Bolton is minding his own business.
04:26So, yeah, you don't got to have those conversations with him.
04:29You don't got to have those conversations with Drew Tranquil.
04:33Whatever they're doing, it's working.
04:35You know who needs this conversation every single day?
04:38It's Rasheed Rice.
04:42You know they're going to be drug testing you.
04:45I'm just going to guess.
04:47The lawyer that you have communicated to you the terms of your parole.
04:51I'm just going to assume that happened.
04:54Hey, man, you can do this.
04:56You can't do this.
04:57I would avoid doing this.
04:59You've got to have those conversations with your lawyer.
05:02You're paying them to have your best interest.
05:05Why would you not listen to them?
05:09Now, on the surface, this is not that big of a deal.
05:13Again, I don't really care if you smoke marijuana or not.
05:16Maybe some of you care.
05:17I don't care if you smoke marijuana.
05:19I honestly don't even care if you smoke marijuana where it's technically illegal, like Texas, because the NFL no longer
05:26tests for marijuana and they will not suspend you for marijuana.
05:30That's not the point.
05:32The point is the greatest thing that you can have between two people is trust.
05:40The greatest thing that you can have between person A and person B is I believe you.
05:48I trust you.
05:49I believe you are who you say you are.
05:52I trust that you are going to do what you say you are going to do.
05:57Rashid Rice has demonstrated to us countless numbers of times.
06:03You cannot trust him.
06:07I made this analogy earlier today when I was on 98.1.
06:11Your wife sending another man a smiling emoji is not really that big of a deal.
06:17But if your wife is Diana Rossini and she has a track record of stepping out on you,
06:24you've got to overly read into the smiley face and what the smiley face means.
06:30You smoking marijuana on its own is not that big of a deal.
06:34It's you smoking marijuana while you're on probation, while you know you're going to be tested for marijuana,
06:40while you know how important this offseason is.
06:43You've got important work coming up with minicamp and OTAs, and your presence is required at these things.
06:51You're one of the leaders in that wide receiver room.
06:54You're one of the leaders in the offense.
06:56But once again, you demonstrate we can't trust you.
07:00We can't believe in you.
07:03I'm tired of Rashid Rice.
07:05I cannot wait until he's off this team.
07:08It's always something.
07:10He couldn't have a quiet offseason.
07:13He couldn't just sit back.
07:15He's got a beautiful girlfriend.
07:17You're making money.
07:18Big season coming up.
07:20You couldn't just keep your head down and do what you needed to do.
07:23No, you had to do some more nonsense that now puts us talking about you off the field as opposed
07:31to on the field.
07:32And I'm tired of having so many conversations about Rashid Rice's actions on his own time.
07:40I want to get back to talking about Rashid Rice on the clock.
07:44He won't allow us that opportunity because he constantly finds himself in trouble.
07:52I'm beside myself.
07:53I don't know what to do.
07:55We can take your phone calls on this.
07:58913-586-7965.
08:01We can read your text about Rashid Rice.
08:04913-586-7965.
08:07I mean, this is just, this is mind-blowing to me.
08:11You had one job, one responsibility.
08:16All you had to do was stay out of trouble for one offseason.
08:21That's it.
08:22The summer is yours.
08:23Go do what you want to do.
08:25Go to Turks and Cancos.
08:26Go to Cancun.
08:27Go to Tulum.
08:28I don't care what you do.
08:29Just don't show up on TMZ.
08:33What do you do?
08:35You're back on there.
08:37Again, you got called to the principal's office again.
08:40We're having these same conversations again about Rashid Rice.
08:45Now we're wondering if you're going to be suspended because you violated the personal conduct policy
08:50because you violated your parole.
08:52This is so incredibly stupid.
08:56It is.
08:57It really is stupid.
08:58We can take your phone calls here, 913-586-7965.
09:03I'll read your text coming up on the other side.
09:05We'll continue to talk about the top story.
09:07If you missed it, Rashid Rice has violated his parole, or excuse me, probation, excuse me.
09:13He has violated his probation after testing positive for marijuana.
09:17He has been ordered to serve 30 days in jail.
09:19So if you remember, Rashid Rice had the 30 days, but he could serve it on his own time.
09:24He could do a week here.
09:25He could do a week there.
09:26He could do a week in here.
09:27They gave him a lot of flexibility on how he wanted to handle those 30 days.
09:32He no longer has that flexibility.
09:34You need to show off your 30 days immediately.
09:37Why couldn't you have done this over the summer?
09:39If you had done this in June, your 30 days, it wouldn't have matter because there's no football activities.
09:44This upcoming time is the one time in their calendar that they got to go to work.
09:49You don't have to go to work in June.
09:51You don't have to go to work in early July.
09:52There's one portion of the spring slash summer that you have to appear.
09:57So, of course, he can't be there because he got himself in trouble again.
10:02Just such nonsense.
10:04You don't have to go to work in early July.
