00:00It's time to go around the entire NFL and dip it into some gridiron gravy.
00:07Dip it and sip it.
00:10Now let's start with, well, if you missed the Brandon Aubrey news,
00:14four years, $28 million extension with the Dallas Cowboys, $20 million guaranteed.
00:22A.J. Brown, not expected to attend the Eagles offseason program,
00:27which makes sense since Adam Schefter didn't guarantee it,
00:31but he said it is looking very, very likely that the Eagles-Patriots trade will happen post-June 1st,
00:40which would allow the Eagles to split up the dead money.
00:44I got a question.
00:46Okay.
00:46What if he just started showing up at the Patriots facility and working out there instead?
00:52And he's like, I live around in the neighborhood.
00:55It's an NFL facility.
00:57Like, they're all under the same umbrella.
00:59See, I would assume that the Eagles would file a tampering claim,
01:04but also, if they really want to get rid of A.J. Brown,
01:07probably not smart to file that claim against the team that's going to take him off your hands.
01:11Yeah, just show up there, dude.
01:14He's got to get his workout in.
01:16Although, doesn't he do that car insurance commercial about how he's always open and stuff like that?
01:22I don't know.
01:23Yeah, he's on a treadmill.
01:24He's running somewhere.
01:24Okay, let's go to Trent Williams.
01:27Trent Williams and the 49ers did indeed figure it out.
01:31Two-year, $50 million extension, so that will keep him there with San Francisco through the 2027 season.
01:40Let's go back to Jeremiah Love.
01:43We talked for a while that Jeremiah Love seems pretty locked in at pick number four.
01:50However, once again, going back to Schefter, he says there is chatter in league circles that the Cardinals would consider
01:58taking Jeremiah Love at pick 12.
02:01Or, excuse me, pick three.
02:02I don't know why I said that, kind of thinking about that trade.
02:05At pick three.
02:07Or, my theory, the Cardinals are going to start leaking out their interest in every conceivable name to try to
02:13convince somebody to trade up.
02:15Because as we've talked about, the Cardinals really want to trade that pick.
02:19Do you think they're going to even be happy if they have to pick that?
02:24If they have to pick, they're going to be like, oh, man.
02:26Yeah, that is what I think.
02:28Okay.
02:30Well, you know what?
02:31I would love for them to take Jeremiah Love.
02:33This would throw a wrench in everything.
02:35And a lot of people really like Jeremiah Love, you know, the player at that spot.
02:38I would love for them to do that and just throw everything out of whack.
02:42What if all of a sudden, then Tennessee's like, all right, Caleb, down.
02:47Okay, who went to?
02:49I assume Reese.
02:51Okay, so now you're telling me that Bailey has fallen to five?
02:53He's there.
02:55And Sonny Stiles is still there.
02:58Which the Giants have been linked to liking.
03:00Right.
03:01And that Cleveland trade's still an option.
03:05So you're telling me I could get David Bailey, an edge rusher, and then maybe I get a Stooks
03:11or something like that at 39 because I'm going to have to trade that 20 to get up there, right?
03:17Yes.
03:18I still prefer being there, but that's two really good players in the first two rounds.
03:23All right.
03:24I have another idea for you.
03:26And essentially, Kevin, I know it's like, okay, but you had two first-round picks.
03:31You did.
03:32But now it is basically back to you had a first and a second-round pick.
03:37All right.
03:37Because does it not feel that way if the grades are 10?
03:4110 first-rounders?
03:42Does it not feel like you're getting a first and a second-rounder anyway?
03:45Well, then I'll throw this out there for you.
03:46You said we'd talk about it later.
03:48I did some quick math number crunching.
03:51Look at you.
03:51People think next year's draft is better, if not considerably better, yes?
03:57Yes.
03:58In theory.
03:58More quarterbacks, which should push down some other players.
04:01The potentially generational wide receiver.
04:04Yeah.
04:04All that.
04:04Okay.
04:04So the trade looks like this.
04:07You trade 12 and 20 to the Giants for 5 and 10, but you also have to give them next
04:17year's
04:17first-round pick, which would mean now you have no first-round picks in a draft that you
04:22previously had two first-round picks, and people seem to think was a good bit better.
04:3012 and 20 to the Giants.
04:33Yep.
04:33And why am I giving them away next year's pick?
04:36So you can move up to 5 and 10?
04:385 and 10.
04:39They won't swap 12 and 20 for 5 and 10.
04:42I feel confident.
04:42Oh, 5 and 10.
04:43I gotcha.
04:43Um, I would take that.
04:47Okay.
04:47What if?
04:49Here's the reason.
04:51Next year is probably a better offensive draft in a lot of respects, too.
04:55This is a good defensive draft for you, and you need to completely retool your defense this year.
05:02Yeah.
05:03You can't have two years in a row that bad.
05:05And Kevin, they didn't do it in the offseason so far.
05:09Tell me they didn't.
05:10Say it.
05:10Lie to me.
05:11You're right.
05:12They didn't do it so far.
05:13So, yes, I would take that.
05:15I think you can get two really good defensive players right there.
05:18The chart would theoretically say you probably have to throw in your third-round pick as well.
05:23The chart, though, does it not feel like it's a little off this year as far as compensation regarding how
05:29people are looking at it?
05:30Correct.
05:30Now, if you're trading with the Cardinals, what do they care?
05:33Yeah.
05:33But would you do it if 12 and 20 became 5 and 10?
05:39Then you feel like you got two honest-to-goodness first-round picks.
05:42Yeah.
05:42But you also have to give up your third this year and next year's first to make it happen.
05:48That does.
05:48That's really.
05:49That's a lot.
05:50That's a lot.
05:51It is.
05:51Probably not.
05:52Okay.
05:53Alec, would you be out on that as well?
05:55I have some other things that I think could be more advantageous to you.
05:57Okay.
05:58I mean, and that would torpedo a lot of the players that we have discussed.
06:01But 12 and 20 for 5 and 10.
06:05Would you also give up next year's first and this year's third?
06:09Ooh.
06:11I'm probably out just because the risk of what happens in between 5 and 10.
06:19Just a quick question.
06:20If for some reason...
06:21Next year's first would be the number one overall pick.
06:22Holy crap.
06:24You don't know.
06:24That's true.
06:25If for some reason I could guarantee you that those picks ended up being downs and styles.
06:31I'd do it.
06:33I'd do it.
06:34Obviously I can do none of these things.
06:36But if I could...
06:37But I can still maybe get either downs or styles in this scenario.
06:41So, no.
06:42So you're out.
06:43Okay.
06:44But your defense is a lot better with those two.
06:46I mean...
06:47Your depth.
06:48For sure.
06:49Question marks.
06:49But your defense is a lot better.
06:51Yes.
06:52Now, one of the things that made this Bengals trade really interesting...
06:58I mean, it was interesting for so many reasons.
07:00But did you know that the Bengals had a first-round pick in every year of the draft since 1989?
07:08Look at them.
07:09So they had made that pick.
07:10And then it took this draft to make them be like, ugh.
07:14No.
07:14They were never willing to risk it.
07:16Because they never felt like they had a Joe Burrow.
07:19Well, probably...
07:20And plus, dude, think about how much they've spent on their team.
07:23And they're not used to that either.
07:24Like, they spent on a lot of players.
07:26And they're not used to that.
07:28So they're like, look, if we're going to make investments, we need to win now and soon.
07:31And they were that close to winning that Super Bowl.
07:33And draft picks are cheaper.
07:35They were an Aaron Donald block away.
07:37I'm saying...
07:38From winning the Super Bowl.
07:39Now, a few more things.
07:41The Titans exercised Peter Skaronsky's rookie deal, that fifth-year option.
07:46And have you seen Mike McDaniel's way of trying to convince the Chargers to get the players that he wanted
07:54in free agency?
07:55Oh, no.
07:55He put up wanted posters around the facility with the players that he thought would be effective in free agency.
08:05Instead of just beating down the GM all the time, what about this guy, what about this guy?
08:09He would just put up these posters all over the place, knowing, like, the paths that they walk in the
08:14building.
08:16Dude, one of the reasons I love that guy is that.
08:18He loves this.
08:19Maybe not head coachy, but very, very fun, interesting dude.
08:24And that's the thing, Kevin, is are they going to let him do press conferences?
08:28I hope so.
08:30I'd rather watch a press conference from him from a lot of people.
08:34Yeah.
08:34NFL prospect Zachariah Branch was arrested in Georgia.
08:39He was booked at 1.30 in the morning for the charges that he was obstructing the sidewalks.
08:48And I think maybe it was pro football talk.
08:52Somebody got a hold of the the police report and said that he was asked to not block a public
09:00sidewalk multiple times and he failed to comply.
09:04And I don't know this is the case, but I will go out on a limb and say it was
09:081.30 a.m.
09:09on a Saturday or technically a Sunday if you want.
09:12So there probably could have been alcohol involved.
09:14Just really feels like we always talk about it.
09:17It's an intelligence test leading up to the draft and getting arrested like five days before the draft.
09:25That's that doesn't just all you have to do.
09:28Sean Merriman, when we talked with him the last time we talked with him, we'll have him on on Thursday.
09:31He was like, yeah, there's a whole lot of nothing to do between your combine and the draft.
09:36Yeah, there's a lot of waiting around.
09:38This is a great time, though, because you don't have that stress now.
09:42But you also, as Ray Lewis said, whenever there's no NFL season, crime, crime.
09:48Now, by the way, one more quick thing.
09:50The NFL very quietly made the announcement that they will not investigate Mike Vrabel for the Diana Rossini.
09:59So there's something in the language ethics clause of the CBA that said,
10:06if a player, coach or executive exhibits, quote, conduct that is detrimental to the integrity of and public confidence in
10:14the NFL.
10:15Now, I don't think this erodes public confidence.
10:18Does it erode the integrity or is the NFL at a level where you're like, that's not bad enough?
10:23I think there's so many people that he could point to as other examples.
10:27Oh, I'm sure.
10:28And he'd be like, hey, do you want to investigate me?
10:30Here's the list.
10:31Yeah.
10:31Go ahead and investigate all of them, too.
10:33Do you really want to have this conversation?
10:35And they were like, they looked at the list.
10:37They saw their own names on it.
10:38And we're like, nope.
10:39And then turn around and it's like.
10:41I 100% agree with you on that.
10:43They're like, look at these files.
10:44Yeah.
