00:00Well, well, the 49ers did it. They got the extension done with Trent Williams.
00:05Two years, $50 million. Good for you, Trent, as both sides got what they wanted.
00:10Trent gets himself a new deal. That includes $37 million guaranteed and a $22 million signing bonus,
00:17making him the first non-quarterback in NFL history to surpass $400 million in contracts
00:24and $225 million in guaranteed money.
00:27What a dog. Holy crap.
00:29Hall of Fame bag getter and Hall of Fame player.
00:33Yep. Well done. And it's something that they needed to do.
00:35I mean, they're a team that obviously has Super Bowl aspirations.
00:39They were a good team last year despite all the injuries.
00:41We'll see. The impact of losing Robert Sala could be big.
00:45That was huge for them last time.
00:47Steve Wilkes, they had some issues there with him taking over as defensive coordinator.
00:51So we'll see how this goes.
00:53But certainly a move that they needed to make happen, and they got it done.
00:56So good for Trent Williams, but screw you, San Francisco.
00:59Now, Adam Schefter reporting on a lot of stuff today.
01:03Schefter's been in his bag giving us some nuggets here and there on the draft,
01:06but also, indeed, A.J. Brown and the Patriots.
01:09That is a deal that is on the table for post-June 1.
01:13I heard that there's been no deal done yet.
01:16Yeah. Just on the table.
01:18On the table.
01:19Because there were people this morning, Sean and Bobby and R.J. were talking about it as kind of a
01:25done deal.
01:26Wink, wink.
01:26And, yeah, like a wink, wink.
01:28And I talked to a couple people involved, and they said, no, they had no deal done yet.
01:34Yeah.
01:35So I can confirm what Adam Schefter's saying there.
01:38So there we go.
01:39And it makes a lot of sense.
01:40It saves the Eagles a ton of money.
01:41I think it's like $20 million.
01:42And they're able to spread out the dead cap throughout multiple years if they wait and do it post-June
01:471.
01:47They went ahead and traded for Don Travian-Wicks.
01:50There's been rumors that maybe they'd trade up to try and get a Jordan Tyson
01:52or maybe some of these other wide receivers.
01:54Omar Cooper, Jr. from Indiana is a guy that they've had in for a visit.
01:58So they might be looking already for their contingency plans after the A.J. Brown era ends in Philly.
02:05But now you've got Shefty saying some names that could be on the move.
02:09And he threw out Kayshaun Booty in New England, a name that's come up in trade talks,
02:14who's entering the final year of his contract, according to sources.
02:18Now, the Patriots did give Romeo Dobbs a big contract this offseason.
02:22And free agency.
02:23So I guess if you're planning to trade for A.J. Brown and you've just paid Dobbs,
02:27I think Booty had a hell of a season.
02:29But if you're now going to inevitably have to pay him after this year,
02:32if there's a market for him, maybe that makes sense for New England to trade him.
02:36If you're an editor at the Boston Globe right now,
02:39is the headline Booty available or Booty on the market?
02:44I kind of like Booty on the market.
02:46In some way you could tie Vrabel to it, it'd be even better.
02:49Yeah, like a Rossini Booty joke.
02:51Yeah.
02:52Now, I don't think Bob Kraft would like that,
02:55because there's reports that he tried to put pressure on the New York Post
02:58to kill that Diana Rossini story before it came out.
03:01Of course he did.
03:02Which is the Patriot way it was joked about.
03:06We're going to kill this thing.
03:07He's always looking for the happy ending.
03:09Don't make this happen.
03:09He didn't get it here.
03:10He had a hand in it, right?
03:12You know, Toria's crisis strategist made the call,
03:14but was unsuccessful in neutering the story, was the quote.
03:19I mean, all these stories are getting constantly neutered.
03:22I think that's the crazy thing about this, is like, was Rossini compromised?
03:25Well, every insider has tons of stories they could share that they do or don't,
03:32depending on are they scared that they're going to lose their job if they share this info.
03:36You know, it's happening everywhere.
03:38I mean, stories are constantly suppressed or propped up or published as a favor to the league
03:45or a partner of the league.
03:47It's just, I don't know.
03:48I think this stuff's pretty widespread there.
03:50Crazy.
03:51I thought it was kind of dirty with the way that it was like,
03:54apparently the New York Post reporter person came knocking on Rossini's door on Easter Sunday
04:00to give her the news that, hey, these photos are here,
04:03and it's time to get in damage control mode.
04:06Dang.
04:06It's like Easter Sunday.
04:07Happy Easter, Diana.
04:09Here's some news for you.
04:10Look at this egg I found.
04:11Yeah.
04:13I guess it's on your face.
04:15Oh, boy.
04:16Boom.
04:17Schefter, also with this buzz, Browns are open to moving No. 6 pick.
04:23Rams were eyeing quarterback Ty Simpson with the 29th pick
04:26until they traded for cornerback Trent McDuffie with Kansas City.
04:30Ideally, Arizona would like to trade out of No. 3,
04:34and there's been exploratory calls.
04:36Now, the odds for Jeremiah Love going to Arizona has skyrocketed today.
04:42I mean, he is the big-time favorite to be the No. 3 overall pick.
04:45So, if Arizona stays at 3, at least Vegas is hearing it's Jeremiah Love.
04:51That's going to be the pick there.
04:53Francis Malinoa, the offensive tackle for Miami,
04:55still expected to be the first offensive lineman selected,
04:58despite the herniated disc in his back.
05:01Okay.
05:01Can we at least—
05:02Bravo, by the way, for nailing that.
05:04I appreciate that.
05:05On the medical report.
05:06Thank you very much.
05:06Because that could get away from you real quick.
05:08I was nervous.
05:08But can we just stop down and talk about how ridiculous that is for the Cardinals?
05:15To take Jeremiah Love?
05:16Like, is this just smoke?
05:18Are they blowing smoke right now?
05:19Well, I think what they'd like to do here, fellas—
05:21I don't think they know who they want to pick.
05:22Just get the hell out of 3.
05:23They want to leave.
05:25They're just throwing all kinds of things at these, all kinds of names,
05:30and hoping that somebody comes up there and takes a player for them.
05:33I don't know the Cardinals forwards and backwards,
05:36but I'm assuming they could use an old lineman.
05:38I'm assuming they could use a rusher.
05:40Yeah.
05:40Okay?
05:41Yeah.
05:41So, it's like, why would you pass on Reeser Bailey, who's there,
05:44or one of these offensive linemen?
05:46I mean, of course, you want to trade out.
05:48I get it.
05:48If you can't, why would you just be like,
05:50all right, we don't really have much that we like about our roster.
05:53Let's just throw a running back in here and get him killed for 17 games.
05:57Well, it sounds like who they really want to take is Ty Simpson,
06:00but they can't do that at 3.
06:03Here's Ty Simpson.
06:05This is an interview with him.
06:07And does it sound like he's already got the playbook for Matt LaFleur,
06:10who is the head coach there at Arizona?
06:12Take it away, Ty.
06:14Steve Stafford, Joe Burrow, quarterbacks that you study specifically,
06:17what part of their game stands out to you?
06:20Yeah, so, you know, I love Stafford.
06:22I was watching him this morning.
06:24I love his under center stuff, you know, his play action.
06:27But, you know, he's a gunslinger, but he manipulates defenses.
06:32And that was really cool to me is, you know, he knows what coverage they're in.
06:36He knows what the route is.
06:38And he knows where to put the ball and, you know, put his eyes somewhere to where he can manipulate
06:44the defense
06:44to throw it somewhere else.
06:46So LaFleur, his new head coach, was where?
06:50In L.A.
06:51The Rams.
06:51With the Rams.
06:52And Matthew Stafford.
06:53Matthew.
06:54So there's the report out over the weekend that the Chiefs want to move up, possibly.
06:58Like, they've had talks with the Cardinals.
07:00I'm sure Arizona's called a bunch.
07:01I'm sure they called Dallas and said, like, hey, what do you think?
07:04And the Cowboys probably are like, that's too much for us.
07:06Unless you really want to take 12 in our three just to get out of there.
07:10Because we don't want to give you 20.
07:12So unless you want to take a big-time discount, we're not moving up to three.
07:15Even though we'd love Arvel Reese.
07:17I think that'd be the player the Cowboys would love to go get.
07:20That's a guy that can play linebacker or be an edge rusher for you.
07:22Two birds, one stone.
07:24Ba-bam.
07:24Maybe the best talent in the class.
07:26But I think Ty Simpson, Matt LaFleur is a big fan of.
07:30And that is who Arizona would like.
07:31So if they stay at three, maybe they take Love.
07:34I think it should be Francis Malinoa.
07:36I think they should take an offensive tackle.
07:38That's who I would go with.
07:39I think I've got Malinoa as my fifth best player.
07:41That would make a ton of sense.
07:43Although I do have Love as my second.
07:44So if you're staying true to your board, maybe Jeremiah Love isn't ridiculous for them.
07:48But that could be a sexy trade-up team.
07:51Like, maybe Dallas could get lucky.
07:53Maybe Arizona, they get antsy.
07:56They move on up to 20 for you.
07:58And you can backpedal.
07:59You can pick up some extra capital.
08:00But I think Arizona and Ty Simpson, like, I'm starting to buy this the closer we get into it.
08:04That's the team Albert Brewer's reported, the two that have shown the most interest in Ty Simpson.
08:08It's Arizona.
08:09It's the Jets.
08:10I don't think the Jets are taking him.
08:12Even at 16, I don't think they're doing it.
08:14So if you're Arizona, you get pigeoned at six, you move on up with 20 to Dallas.
08:20Let's speak it into existence.
08:21Let's move back.
08:22Let's get some extra capital.
08:24You think we could be lucky enough that Ty Simpson actually goes in the top ten?
08:26No.
08:28If they move back to nine with Kansas City, yeah.
08:31We saw Michael Penix Jr. go in the top ten.
08:33That was a stunner.
08:34I didn't think it was happening.
08:35So maybe.
08:36Maybe Arizona would feel comfortable taking him at nine.
08:39I just don't think they're doing it at three.
08:41Because it's crazy talk.
08:42Even nine is pretty crazy talk.
08:44Crazy talk.
08:45Albert Brewer was just on with, I don't know, Dan Patrick or somebody.
08:48And he said over under one and a half quarterbacks taken in the first round.
08:51He took the under.
08:53Yeah.
08:54But the Cardinals are a mystery.
08:57But the pick your option for the quarterback, I get it.
09:00Well, they pick 35th.
09:02Yes.
09:02The fifth year option for a quarterback is interesting.
09:04Although I think it's totally overrated.
09:06If you like the guy, you'll figure out a way to get a deal done after three years.
09:10And at quarterback, either it's a hit or it's a miss.
09:13But, I mean, if you pick 35th and you want to trade back so you can take Simpson at a
09:17different spot, you feel like a team is going to take him in the 20s.
09:21Yeah.
09:21And maybe they're nervous about that.
09:23Maybe they're nervous about the Jets sliding back or maybe moving back up and doing it.
09:29I mean, Pittsburgh, the report is they're not taking a quarterback.
09:31But Rodgers is iffy right now on if he's going to play or not.
09:34I still like your theory about Rodgers and they're just milking this thing and he's going to announce it at
09:39the draft in Pittsburgh.
09:40Yeah, man, it makes so much sense because remember the week after the season, there was the report that they
09:45had given him a date.
09:46Like, we need to know from you before the combine.
09:48And then all of a sudden that date went away.
09:50Why?
09:51Probably because the powers that be decided the ultimate way to make a big day out of this draft.
09:57You know, we're going to take a guard at 21, guys.
09:59That's not going to be sexy.
10:00But you know what will be?
10:02Aaron Rodgers announcing his return.
10:03And kudos to Aaron Rodgers because you know he didn't want to do this.
10:05Like, this is a guy that wanted to make a decision.
10:06He wanted to be locked in.
10:08And he doesn't want to make it about him and get on the stage on draft night and turn this
10:13into a big show.
10:15But for the betterment of the Steelers and the team, he's willing to go ahead and put his selfish desires
10:20to the side.
10:21And you've got to have respect for that.
10:23Yeah.
10:24Now, Schefter went on to say regarding the Cowboys.
10:27I think he's going to be just tripping balls up there at the mic.
10:31It's not a darkness retreat.
10:32It's a draft retreat.
10:33And I'm doing my ayahuasca right now.
10:35He just starts puking and crapping all over himself.
10:37He's going to be wearing plants, his clothes, and he's going to be sweating and vomiting.
10:41His wife comes with him, and it's really a plant.
10:44One long shot scenario to keep an eye on says Schefter.
10:46If the Jets take edge rusher David Bailey at 2, which many believe will happen, and then the Cardinals take
10:52Love, and the Titans take Ohio State linebacker Sonny Stiles, which is one of the options for Tennessee, then you've
10:59got Arvel Reese available at 5.
11:02And all of a sudden, now you get the Cowboys that could start to play move-up phone call on
11:08you.
11:09Now, I don't know if you're the Giants.
11:10You call him the Giants?
11:11Yeah, if you're the Giants, I'm staying in there, and I'm taking Arvel Reese.
11:14I don't know why the hell you'd trade with Dallas.
11:16How much Arvel Reese bustability do you think is in there?
11:19I think there's some, but I still think that at worst, he's going to be a tremendous linebacker.
11:25But I think he's going to be a really great edge.
11:28I really do.
11:29I think he's going to—teams are going to—I mean, if he's doing this and not getting really any plan as
11:34a pass rusher,
11:34he's just using his God-given athleticism, which, let's be real, that's pretty much what Micah did, too, when he
11:40first went to edge.
11:41I think Arvel Reese is going to be a star.
11:43And he's working with BT Jordan right now as we speak.
11:46So he's already putting in the work.
11:49I think he's going to be really good.
11:50You know, I think he's the most bustable player inside the top ten.
11:55The lack of production, the lack of starts.
11:58Sure, that's fair.
11:59The lack of a true position.
12:00Yeah.
12:01You know?
12:01Yeah.
12:02What is it, six and a half sacks this year?
12:04I mean, there's so many ways.
12:06I think so.
12:06I get it.
12:08The measurables, him getting off the bus, it looks amazing.
12:12I would be really nervous to take Arvel Reese.
12:15I mean, there's no doubt, in my mind, if I'm the Jets, we're taking David Bailey.
12:18It's not even close.
12:19I think if you don't have a plan for him and you start having this guy, like, one day he's
12:24a linebacker, now he's an edge.
12:26Like, you've got to figure out what you want to do.
12:28You start playing, you know, position tag with him, that's when I think the bus could happen.
12:33If you're going to take him, let him know I'm drafting you to be a linebacker, or I'm drafting you
12:37to be an edge, so he can work full-time at either spot.
12:39And then I think you're going to see him really shine in the league.
12:42But you start moving him around, that's when I can see that possibly happening, 100%.
12:47Now, Albert Breer, he put out in his draft, Nuggets, Carnell Tate and Jordan Tyson, very much on the Giants'
12:54radar.
12:55Tate, Tyson, Spencer Feneau, the tackle from Utah.
12:59Ruben Bain Jr. from Miami.
13:01Delane, Downs, Sadiq.
13:04All considerations for the Chiefs at 9.
13:06Most teams believe the Browns at 6 are going to take Carnell Tate or Francis Malinoa.
13:12The Saints are believed to be the floor for Carnell Tate.
13:15That means, Brian, he's not getting past the Saints there.
13:18It's like the lowest he's going to fall.
13:20But it's also a possible ceiling for Mansoor Delane.
13:23So if we're talking the earliest Mansoor Delane, the cornerback from LSU, could go at 9 to the Saints, which
13:30is what Albert Breer's hearing,
13:32maybe Delane's the guy.
13:34Saints at 8?
13:35At 8.
13:36Maybe Delane's the guy that could slide to 12.
13:39And we haven't talked about him enough.
13:41Well, the current draft odds, I will spoil a little bit from the finest, but the current draft odds have
13:48Delane being the selection at 12.
13:52They have, like, who's the favorite to go each spot.
13:55Yeah.
13:55And Delane, he does make an appearance for the first time as the favorite at 11 with Miami, but he's
14:02also the favorite at 12 for Dallas.
14:04He might be a guy that can slide.
14:06Him sliding a little bit.
14:07Because if Downs is there at 10 still, I'd imagine the Giants are going to take him.
14:12There's a lot of love for Downs in that building.
14:14Now, maybe they've already taken an offensive player at 5.
14:17Right.
14:17So they want to go with the offensive tackle.
14:19I think Vega Ioani, the guard from Penn State, it needs to be talked about at 10 to the Giants.
14:24They don't have a right guard to start right now.
14:26That makes a lot of sense.
14:27If being on shows with them, they never, ever really brought him up.
14:31But they didn't have the 10th pick then, right?
14:32Well, no, we redid the show last night.
14:35Oh, you did?
14:35Okay.
14:36Yeah, we went back.
14:36And they didn't bring him up?
14:37They did not talk about him.
14:38That would make a lot of sense to me.
14:39If they were going to take an offensive lineman, it's not like they would take Malinoa and move him to
14:43guard.
14:44Okay.
14:44That's what they sound like they were going to do.
14:46And they probably would have to take him at 5, I would think.
14:48Because it sounds like if he's there, the Chiefs would probably be willing to take him.
14:51And he's not going to get to their pick.
14:53But then at 10, that means if Downs or Stiles was there, they'd probably take one.
14:57So maybe Delaney's the guy.
14:59I mean, I've thought Downs just because of the position, that's safety.
15:02We've seen the safety slide.
15:04Maybe Delaney's the guy we should look at maybe as more of a guy that could fall to 12.
15:08If he's there at 12, I'd be excited.
15:10I don't think corner's their biggest need, but I think he's a hell of a player.
15:13He'd probably instantly be your best corner.
