00:00It's time to go around the entire NFL and dip into some Gridiron Gravy.
00:07Kevin, Babe, our friend Babe.
00:11Laufenberg?
00:12Laufenberg. He's posted this a couple different times, but today.
00:1624 days and counting to retain my title.
00:20The highest drafted quarterback to play at Indiana University is Babe Laufenberg.
00:25He was selected 168th overall by Washington.
00:29Fernando Mendoza is currently projected to be the highest drafted.
00:33I love Babe for this.
00:35Currently projected. He could get taken by the fourth.
00:39168 was his number. He has been, historically, the highest drafted.
00:45Yeah. Fair to say that record's going to be tumbling on down in about three and a half weeks.
00:53By the way, remember, 105.3 The Fan is going to be taking over all of the DFW Pluckers on
00:59that first night of the NFL Draft.
01:02All right. Let's start with some Cowboy things.
01:06So the Cowboys signed Jonathan Bullard, or if you really wanted to get fancy, Bullard,
01:13to a one-year, $2.5 million max deal.
01:17This is viewed as depth for their defensive line, although, to be fair, Bullard did start 37 games over the
01:25last three seasons with the Vikings and then the Saints.
01:29So he's shown that he can do that.
01:32And by the way, the picture I saw that went along with the quote tweet from John Machoda is in
01:39front of a bunch of sneakers.
01:40Yeah, he's a sneakerhead.
01:41And I thought that that was really fun.
01:43But he's a big body, 6'3", 290.
01:48Going to go into that mix and that conversation.
01:51Could maybe be a left offensive end, you know, in rotation.
01:55But, Kevin, as you were saying, A, you're still filling out a roster.
01:58Right.
01:59B, you have to have competition at every level, especially when you get into camp.
02:05Competition will create itself when those guys are trying to get jobs.
02:08So I just thought about the other player that's still just sitting out there is Bobby Wagner.
02:16So, Bobby...
02:1784 years old.
02:18That's true.
02:19Bobby Wagner, no doubt, going to be going to the Hall of Fame.
02:24He was second team All-Pro two seasons ago.
02:30So not this past season.
02:31But the season before that, he's a 100-plus tackling machine.
02:37I actually don't know if he's ever had fewer than 100 tackles.
02:40He has not.
02:42And he just seems like a player that can get the job done.
02:47I have no idea what his actual price is.
02:50But I just wanted to throw out, what do you think about the idea of pursuing him?
02:54I mean, it's an interesting point, Kevin, because three seasons ago, 183 tackles.
03:01Last year, 162.
03:03Like, he just puts up 130 tackles a year.
03:06That's just what he does.
03:09At 36, I want to be like, eh, because he's 36 years old.
03:13Yeah.
03:13He'll be 36 years old.
03:15My first thought is, I don't know.
03:18I don't think so.
03:20But if you're getting that kind of production out of him consistently, it feels pretty good.
03:28I don't see any fall off, and I don't see any reason why you wouldn't want to.
03:31But again, the Cowboys, for whatever reason, have had many opportunities and never followed through with him.
03:38And I don't know why.
03:39And obviously, he's been bouncing around later in his career with the Rams in 22, second team All-Pro.
03:47Back to the Seahawks, 23, second team All-Pro.
03:50First year with Washington, second team All-Pro.
03:53Now, not All-Pro last year, I believe, for the first time since 2013, he was not an All-Pro.
04:03So, I understand, but if you tell me you can bring somebody in who's, you know, 20% off being
04:10an All-Pro, that sounds pretty good at that position.
04:14In the last three years, or four years, he has 39 tackles for loss.
04:19He's giving you about 10 tackles for loss a year.
04:23Like, that's still pretty impressive.
04:25But, Kevin, here's the thing.
04:27He's got one safety in his career.
04:29And I think that's probably what's holding the Cowboys.
04:31What do you do now?
04:32The lack of safeties.
04:34Yeah, I feel like that's probably something they were like, you know what?
04:38And one interception.
04:40Touchdown.
04:41I guess we have focused more on safeties this offseason.
04:43Yeah.
04:44Good point.
04:45You know what?
04:46That's the thing.
04:47If Christian Parker's like, that's the kind of person I need, they should definitely do that.
04:53Now, let's go from that to the Browns, who want us all to calm down.
04:57They said the Miles Garrett contract tweak was unrelated to a trade.
05:02So, look, just don't worry about the fact that that would make him significantly more easy to trade.
05:09I don't believe him at all.
05:11They said that he'll be a Brown for life.
05:13But then again, remember, in this scenario, Miles Garrett said, I want to get the hell out of there.
05:17And then within a few weeks, he had signed an extension with the Browns.
05:20So, who knows?
05:21You know what?
05:22This person just dominated the conversation.
05:26From the 2-1-4.
05:27I mean, you guys don't have a problem with McCutcheon playing for the Rangers, and he's producing at 38.
05:32Don't say!
05:33If that's what you're going to bring to the table, you won.
05:36And don't say you guys.
05:37I am in support of this.
05:38I don't think I was just like, I don't think I was nodding for it either.
05:42I did.
05:42I thought you were against it pretty hard.
05:45I don't remember that.
05:46Unnecessarily.
05:46I like McCutcheon.
05:47Oh, I meant Wagner.
05:48Oh, yeah.
05:49McCutcheon.
05:50No, with Wagner, that's a different deal.
05:51You guys got a point.
05:52Yeah.
05:52All right.
05:53Oh, you're all about Wagner, and I have question marks.
05:56Yeah.
05:57Let's do it.
05:57You just won the conversation with the McCutcheon thing.
06:00Hell, yeah.
06:01Nice work, guys.
06:01Thank you very much, person from the 2-1-4.
06:03Y'all know the weight of my heart.
06:05Absolutely.
06:05Bring up Cutch.
06:06All right.
06:07Couple of McCutcheon.
06:09Couple of quick hits for you.
06:11The Giants released Graham Gonneau.
06:13And then Aaron Glenn was asked if he could confirm that Geno Smith is going to be their starting quarterback.
06:20And he said, there's no doubt about it.
06:22He's our guy.
06:24Now, let's move over to what I know Corey really cares about.
06:29That electrical substation that could or could not be taking down the San Francisco 49ers, John Lynch has spoken.
06:37He said, we did hire an independent scientist.
06:41It's always important to get that independent.
06:43You can't have big substation doing the investigation.
06:49And he said, this is an actual quote.
06:52They hired an independent person.
06:54That's right.
06:54John Lynch hired an independent scientist.
06:57Then he said this.
06:59Again, I cannot stress enough.
07:01This is a real quote.
07:03Absolutely unfounded.
07:05Quote, he basically said it was a big nothing burger.
07:08We're safe.
07:09We're in a safe place of work.
07:11The levels are 400 times less than an unsafe zone.
07:18Did you get that?
07:19So they're safe.
07:21Yeah.
07:21So let's say you need 400 gigawatts.
07:24Where is it?
07:24To be unsafe.
07:26Where is an unsafe zone?
07:27From Back to the Future.
07:28Where did he say the unsafe zones are?
07:30No, I think what he's saying is the level that would make it.
07:33Gotcha.
07:33So again, if we're using Back to the Future science, 400 gigawatts would put you at an unsafe level.
07:41And then they have one.
07:43And you'd have to go 88 miles an hour to get out of that zone.
07:45Yes.
07:45Yeah, that makes sense.
07:46Was it 88?
07:48Was it not 88?
07:49Was it 86?
07:51Crap.
07:52I don't know.
07:52Look into that.
07:53Now, let's talk about Xavier McKinney.
07:56Kind of.
07:57Because this is not his fault.
08:00Was it 88?
08:01It was 88.
08:01142 kilometers an hour.
08:03Oh, man.
08:03You know what?
08:04I should have known better.
08:06Because when we were in Germany, we were driving on the Autobahn.
08:09And it said we were going 150 kilometers an hour.
08:12And I was like, should I be worried?
08:14Or is that just regular fast?
08:16And I did not know the conversion rate offhand.
08:18All right.
08:18Let's talk about Xavier McKinney.
08:20But not really.
08:21This story has nothing to do with the Packers' safety.
08:24He is innocent.
08:26However.
08:27Oh, man.
08:27Someone trying.
08:29That's a way to start.
08:29Yeah.
08:30Someone impersonating him attempted to swindle almost $4.4 million from a lender.
08:40So somebody's saying that they were Xavier McKinney tried to steal all of this money in an effort to get
08:51money back from the broker who was duped.
08:55So he was tricked.
08:57And he was like, oh, you're an NFL player.
08:59Here you go.
09:00No problem.
09:01And now there's a lawsuit going to get that money back.
09:06And I'm going to go out on a limb and guess maybe that person who gave him the money probably
09:10lost his job.
09:12Kevin.
09:13Which is unfortunate.
09:14This now brings upon me a new idea.
09:19So I just need to get that lender to send the money to a bank off the coast where it
09:25can be.
09:25It just disappears.
09:28Which athlete should I say I am?
09:31I've got to get away with this.
09:33I don't want to get caught like this dummy.
09:34Zach Martin.
09:35Oh, yeah.
09:36I don't want him to be like, oh, you kind of look like him.
09:38I want to be somebody that they would never suspect.
09:41Well, then how are you going to get the money?
09:43I'm Serena Williams.
09:43Yeah.
09:44The bank is going to know.
09:46You most certainly are not Serena Williams.
09:48How are they going to know that?
09:49I just sent them an email.
09:51And that's how we got this started.
09:52Put not Serena.
09:54Bam.
09:55Hyphenated Williams.
09:56I think you'll get away with it then.
09:58Or if you try to see if the handle at the real Serena Williams is still available, you'll be like,
10:03how else would I have gotten it?
10:04I need this $4 million as I am starting a racket business.
10:09Bam.
10:12Man, you know, I really hope they ask for like a business plan or something.
10:16I got one.
10:17I got one already typed up.
10:18Not just you rolling in and going, I got a racket business.
10:21I'm not going into the bank, Kevin.
10:24Okay.
10:24You don't have to do that anymore.
10:25You can do everything online.
10:28You know what?
10:29That's a great question.
10:30You can shop at Platinum Chevrolet completely online.
10:33You're right.
10:34I don't know if this person got the $4 million plus online pretending to be Xavier McKinney.
10:40It feels like that is a huge flaw in the system if that is in fact how that played out.
10:45But to be fair, I don't know for sure one way or another.
