00:00It's time to go around the entire NFL and dip it into some gridiron gravy.
00:07DIP!
00:08DIP it and RIP it.
00:09And let's start with your Dallas Cowboys.
00:13The Dallas Cowboys signed the entirety of their draft class with the exception of Malachi Lawrence.
00:20So they did sign Caleb Downs to a deal.
00:23They signed their other five non-first round picks.
00:26So the only one who has not signed their rookie deal just yet is Malachi Lawrence.
00:32This is good.
00:33Feels like the Cowboys are usually, even though things are slotted a lot more, are usually towards the end of
00:39this.
00:39Yeah, because why?
00:40Feels like they're like, let's watch these tea leaves drop off the trees or whatever.
00:45I feel like, Kevin, am I wrong?
00:49Has this been an efficient offseason?
00:51Yeah, I think so.
00:53Now, if you would have picked up one of those linebackers, would you have felt even better?
00:58But at least they put in the effort.
00:59No, absolutely.
01:00And just didn't get it.
01:01Yeah, they failed at it.
01:03That happens.
01:04That happens.
01:05But don't you usually feel like maybe they didn't even try?
01:07Yeah, you'll get the note of, yeah, they were not interested in that.
01:09You're like, why?
01:10But they did tell us, we want to go find things to make this team better.
01:14And I think the timing of the way that they've done things, even with the George Pickens thing, that was
01:24a little weird that Steven came out right before the draft and threw that into the wall.
01:27That was weird.
01:28On his own.
01:30But then on top of it, it was even weirder that George Pickens was like, right before the draft, all
01:36right, I'm in.
01:36It just feels like things are going the right way rather than let's watch the soap opera play out.
01:44And Kevin, maybe they're just saving us for a good season finale.
01:48Maybe that's what it is.
01:49Oh, no.
01:49We'll get you for a cliffhanger here.
01:51Look, that's one of the things I hate.
01:53Cowboys, I'm all of the seasons in.
01:55I don't need a cliffhanger.
01:57I'm going to keep watching your stupid show.
01:58They're going to win the second round, get to the NFC Championship, and leave you on the cliffhanger with can
02:04they do it next year?
02:05And then, look, it'll probably work.
02:08And that is the danger of raising lowered expectations.
02:11Stars don't get to the Western Conference Finals.
02:14I'm outraged.
02:14The Cowboys make it to the equivalent of the Western Conference Finals.
02:18I'll throw a freaking party.
02:20Meanwhile, only four years separate those two franchises in their last championship.
02:24Don't ever forget that.
02:25Now, let's go to Cleveland where Todd Munkin says he would love to name a starting quarterback before training camp,
02:33but he's not there yet.
02:35Which leads us to perhaps the first ever version of this on the show.
02:40Is this response sexist?
02:43I take you to reporter Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
02:52She says that Deshaun Watson has emerged as the favorite to be QB1.
02:59She also said,
03:01I think they should declare the Deshaun Watson QB1 ASAP and let the first team offense start to cook.
03:07There is no time to waste.
03:09To which Shador Sanders' brother, Shiloh, wrote on Instagram,
03:14Go make a sandwich, Mary.
03:17So we ask the question,
03:18Is that response sexist?
03:22Dude, doesn't it feel?
03:23Uh, yes.
03:25Absolutely it is.
03:26Rude.
03:28Rude or sexist, though?
03:30Oath.
03:31Okay.
03:32Because men can make sandwiches.
03:33As a matter of fact,
03:35Brandon Hurtado makes one of the best sandwiches you'll find out there.
03:38If Brandon Hurtado would have put that,
03:40do you think he would have said,
03:41Go make a sandwich, Brandon?
03:43Uh,
03:44you think Brandon would have?
03:46Oh, uh,
03:47No, I'm saying Shiloh.
03:48I don't think so.
03:49Okay, then it is sexist.
03:50Uh, unless, like,
03:51Well, maybe,
03:52because he's like,
03:52he does make a good sandwich.
03:53Um,
03:54but,
03:55don't you feel like with
03:56the amount of work she's done in her career,
03:59and the respect that she has,
04:01Right.
04:01that the Browns would be like,
04:03Alright, go ahead and get rid of Shador,
04:04because we like her more?
04:06Well, it was his brother that said that, though.
04:08Do you think...
04:09I don't even want to,
04:10I don't even want to deal with that kind of recklessness
04:12aimed at Mary Kay Cabot.
04:14Do you think Shiloh Sanders has much of an idea of any of that?
04:17Probably not.
04:18I think you're probably right about that.
04:19Yeah, she's been around for a minute.
04:20Yes, and put out some really interesting stuff on the way.
04:23Oh, from the 3, 2, 1,
04:24Oh, so you're saying women don't make sandwiches as good as men, Corey.
04:27Brandon's sandwich is phenomenal.
04:29Oh, you found yourself trapped!
04:31I want to tell you something.
04:32The reason Adrienne, like, she got me.
04:35Because she made a bagel sandwich that I was like,
04:37If I can get that for the rest of my life,
04:40you know how many she's made for me since we've been married?
04:42Four.
04:43Like, two.
04:44Oh, no.
04:45Adrienne, if you're out there right now,
04:46in the world.
04:47Making brownies, too.
04:48I'd love some sandwich.
04:50Oh, man.
04:51That...
04:51All right.
04:52Let's go to Russell Wilson,
04:55who...
04:55Look, I'm not saying these two things are related.
04:58Yeah.
04:59I'm just going to read you kind of two headlines and ideas.
05:02The other day I told you that Russell Wilson
05:04was visiting with the Jets.
05:06Could be their backup quarterback behind Geno Smith.
05:10Unrelated or not,
05:12Russell Wilson could not play next year to go beyond CBS.
05:15Do you think there's any chance
05:17that the prospect of being a backup quarterback
05:19for the Jets would force Russell Wilson
05:22to go into broadcasting instead?
05:26Probably.
05:28I think I'd pick that, too.
05:29Or maybe Russell's, like,
05:30finally starting to get the picture of
05:32what the career might be done.
05:34Yes.
05:35Like, the real career of being a starting NFL quarterback.
05:38And, quite honestly,
05:39if you're a Super Bowl-winning quarterback,
05:41you and you, like, started
05:42and you were at the top of the game,
05:44do you ever truly want to be a backup?
05:47Yeah.
05:47A lot of those guys don't have the humbleness
05:50in their nature to actually go do that.
05:52So the next step is,
05:54what do I do next?
05:55And I take advantage of this.
05:55Now, my question is,
05:57are we getting Mr. Unlimited Personality?
06:00And that's the one we're going to get on CBS?
06:03Hmm.
06:03Boring.
06:04Naked photo shoots with a kid that's not his?
06:06It's weird.
06:08Biologically.
06:09All right.
06:10Let's go to Austin Eckler.
06:13He has been fully cleared
06:14and said he plans to play in 2026.
06:19I know you'll be shocked, shocked to learn this,
06:22but the Colts declined the fifth-year option
06:25for Anthony Richardson,
06:26which would have paid him $22.5 million.
06:29Oh, because they need that money for Daniel Jones.
06:32Or because he's not good at football.
06:34Oh.
06:35One of those two reasons, though.
06:36Probably both of them.
06:37All right.
06:37Let me ask you this.
06:39We've been talking about Jeremiah Love.
06:42Pro Football Reference put out that
06:44the Cardinals ranked 27th in the NFL last year
06:48in yards before contact.
06:51So very, very low.
06:54Could you see a scenario,
06:57or maybe do you even think it's likely,
06:59that Jeremiah Love will have a disappointing rookie season
07:02similar to that of Ashton Gentry,
07:05because there's just,
07:06it's not in front of him?
07:08You know, when I think of the Cardinals,
07:11I keep going back to Micah getting run over a couple times,
07:16but that was a Clayton Adams offense.
07:19And so, like, that's where I'm like,
07:21well, I need to get away from the mindset of that.
07:23And I have no clue what this offense is going to be with the Cardinals.
07:27Sure.
07:28But I will say...
07:28I don't think they do either.
07:29I will say, if you don't have a powerful offensive line
07:34and good quarterback play,
07:35it's going to be a bit of a struggle.
07:37So I think what they would like to do is they would like it,
07:40I can definitely see it being a negative return.
07:44You just can't do it all on your own.
07:47That's just not how it works in the NFL.
07:50So, but, over time, it will be better.
07:53This rookie season, I'm not going to go out
07:54and draft him immediately and say, let's rock.
07:56But, dude, I did go look, and I was like,
07:58over the last 10 years,
08:00show me some good, like,
08:02what have been the best rookie seasons?
08:04There have been a lot of them.
08:05Jameer Gibbs, Jonathan Taylor, Saquon Barkley,
08:07like, there have been some really good ones.
08:09Go back and look at why.
08:10All those offensive lines were built and ready for a running back.
08:14Okay.
08:15I like that.
08:15And, by the way, in case you cared,
08:17Bucky Brooks was going through his perfect player team fits
08:22from the NFL draft,
08:23and the number one on his list was Caleb Downs with Dallas.
08:27Oh, really?
08:27And so that's just,
08:28you like to hear that not only did you get the value,
08:31you got a really smart player,
08:32but then people are coming along and being like,
08:34I like the fit, too.
08:35I think the fit is perfect.
08:37It's interesting you say that,
08:38or that that is the case,
08:40when we have no clue what his defense is going to really truly be.
08:44That is, like, what if it's much different than we expect?
08:48Yeah.
08:49Maybe he'll be back here in six months and be like,
08:50ugh, I don't know about that fit.
08:52I doubt it, but maybe.
08:53But with the idea, with the concept we have in mind,
08:56he's the right player for the job.
08:57And then, I know there's another undrafted free agent
09:00somebody wants us to take a look at,
09:01but just keep an eye out on Michael Traig.
09:03Michael Traig, the tight end, 6'4", 240 pounds.
09:07I believe that's the person they gave $200,000 to.
09:09I always like him a lot.
09:10As an undrafted free agent,
09:12let's just see how he can work his way into the tight end mix.
09:17The next Brevin Spanford?
09:18I mean.
09:19They gave him a lot of money.
09:20Yeah.
09:20Could he move himself up onto the roster
09:23so then you have to make maybe some difficult other choices?
