05:34In the athletic, in the statue with the Rangers, they very selectively picked the timing of that.
05:40And it's right before, it's kind of like the gas mask video dropped on the day of the draft.

05:50And so, yeah.

05:53But again, maybe they didn't get this.
05:55I feel like the story had been there for a while, for two years.
05:59It just felt like weird timing.

06:16They scheduled a virtual meeting with Memphis offensive tackle Travis Burke.
06:22He's a rising prospect, 6'8", 325-pound offensive tackle.
06:28The Cowboys also have representatives at the Jordan Tyson workout, though, to be fair, about
06:34two-thirds of the teams in the NFL have representatives at that workout.
06:38Estimate is around 21, 24, somewhere in that range.
06:43So, a lot.
06:44I would expect the Cowboys to be there.

07:05This is really interesting.
07:07Alex Sherman of CNBC is reporting, like, the potential requests for the next round of NFL
07:14deals.
07:15What have we learned in the last several years?
07:17Nothing on TV matters except the NFL, right?

07:22Out of 100 things, two of them or something else?
07:25Two of them, I think, like, four of them were non-sports.
07:28Or the top 50.
07:29Yeah, and they were only annual events.
07:31Yeah.
07:31Like the Grammys.
07:33And so you can't just be like, coming up next, Grammys 2.
07:37I guess you could, actually.
07:39If that happens, then I want to cut out that action.
07:41So Alex Sherman of CNBC is reporting that the league wants a 100% bump in their rights
07:49fees.
07:49So that's twice as much.
07:52Media companies are currently looking for somewhere in the range of 25%.
07:58That is a massive gap.

08:02And that expense is going to get passed to us.

08:05It infuriates me because, Kevin, you one day said, look, you're not a real fan if you
08:09don't buy this.
08:10And I'm like, but I want it in the package that it was already in before.

08:16That's my hope and desire is they go back to being like, you know what?
08:20Let's repackage that back with whatever it was and make it easy on the fan.

08:28When it comes to this, I'm trying to figure out where the leverage is.
08:31The NFL knows that everybody wants it, but their leverage is against all the other companies.
08:38And all the other companies are like, this is how we're going to make our money.
08:42So they screw themselves by upbidding it.
08:45And if they all just banded together and said, we're not doing it, then the NFL would have
08:49to say, well, we'll just do it ourselves.
08:51Is that the scale that it goes to?
08:55So I think what they're angling for here is ever you were going to do this, now is the
08:59time.

09:00Because we've seen mergers between some of these streamers.
09:03And we always talked about not all of these streamers were ever going to survive.
09:07So if you're a Netflix or you're a peacock, is that not the move that you make?
09:14And you're like, we're going to have an exclusive season package.
09:18Yeah.
09:18But you have to have peacock.
09:21And they're like, did you know you can also get all of your favorite NBC shows on peacock?
09:25This is the crazy thing.
09:25The NFL had NFL Network as a threat the entire time.

09:30And then finally said, guys, we don't need to threaten them anymore.
09:33Look at all the different options we have to sell to.
09:37They're all going to fight themselves out of this.
09:39So let's just go ahead and sell NFL Network to ESPN and move on with our lives.
09:44It's just, if ever there was a time they were going to pull this off, I think now might
09:49be it.
09:49And I went back and double-checked to make sure this was a real quote, because y'all talked
09:53about how much the Cardinals' situation sucks at quarterback.
09:56Their GM came out and said, we're not really naming anybody as starting quarterback right
10:01now.
10:01What?
10:01It's because you can't say Ty Simpson now.
10:05The smart thing to do is to let Jacoby Brissett run like two games, and then the next week
10:12be like, and now it's Gardner Minshew's turn, and then go back to Brissett.
10:16Because that's how you'll win.
10:17Two games at a time is what they can do, Kevin.
