04:29This is going to be a great episode.
04:31Welcome in to Financial Friday.
04:34And I have a very special guest.
04:36Very special guest.
04:38Friend of the show, has been on several times, and we're traveling someplace tonight.
04:44We're going all the way to Belgium.
04:47I have my friend, Danny Lopez, a.k.a. Superfly, coming in all the way from Belgium.
04:55Can't wait.
04:55This is going to be an amazing episode.
05:00All right.
05:02Now, of course, go ahead and continue to use your virtual voice.
05:06Thank you so much to everybody out there who's been watching.
05:09We got all different time zones.
05:11I can't wait to find out exactly what time it is in Belgium.
05:14All I know is that this week has been something else with this live experience.
05:19And we're here.
05:23This is not the final show of the 411 podcast, but this is the final episode of this week's series,
05:32of the live series.
05:33So when we come back, it'll just be audio only.
05:36You won't get the visuals.
05:38You won't get to see my guests.
05:39But we'll be bringing on more people in the future.
05:42So stay tuned, because you never know when I'm going to do my week runs of the live versions of
05:47the 411 podcast.
05:49So, but thank you again.

05:58I definitely do appreciate you.
06:00I want to say good morning to everybody out there on Facebook.
06:03I know you're lovely in the morning, and I thank you so much.
06:07Please continue to share this podcast out with anybody who can learn a little bit about what we're speaking here
06:14tonight.
06:15And, of course, I could not do this without each and every one of you.
06:18And I most certainly could not do this without my executive producer.
06:21I want to give a very special thank you to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for giving me another
06:26opportunity,
06:27giving me the strength, giving me the courage, giving me the wisdom, and the understanding to continue to keep pressing
06:32forward
06:33and giving you this great 411 podcast.
06:38So, are y'all ready?
06:40I'm ready to get into one of my favorite segments of the show.
06:44Y'all know what we do.
06:45It's time to go ahead and remix this thing and go ahead and take it to the song of the
06:50day.
06:55Song of the day.
06:56Now, y'all know we're speaking about money tonight.
06:59You know I go in on Fridays.
07:00I take it there when it comes to the financial aspect of debt-free living.
07:04So, other than Destiny's Child, 1999, they had an album called The Writings on the Wall.
07:12And since we're speaking about money tonight, we're speaking about bills.
07:17What other song than bills, bills, bills?
07:20Now, when Destiny's Child was sitting there singing bills, bills, bills, she's basically talking about somebody else paying their bills.
07:30Now, my question to you is, should you be wanting somebody else to pay your bills, or should you be
07:39financially savvy enough to be able to stand on your own two feet and take care of your own?
07:46Think about that.
07:47Before you run around telling somebody, can you pay my bills?
07:50Can you pay my telephone bill?
07:52Can you pay my automobile?
07:55Can you pay them yourself?
07:57And if you can't, that's a major problem right there.
08:03And be able to stand on your own two feet first for multiple reasons.
08:07Number one, if you rely on another individual to take care of you, you've already lost the game.
08:12And I'm going to say that again.
08:14If you rely on another individual to take care of you, you rely on another person, you rely on another
08:20man, and I'm not just talking about man when it comes to man, women too, just man in general.
08:26If you rely on a man to take care of you instead of you taking care of yourself, you have
08:31already lost the game.
08:35And some of you might say, why, Laren?
08:37Why would that be the case?
08:38Well, let me break it down to you, because at the end of the day, we're all human beings, and
08:45we might like something today, but we may not like it tomorrow.
08:49And everybody has the God-giving right to be able to do whatever they want to do when it comes
08:54to who they are.
08:57Not to somebody else, but who they are.
08:59So if I like something today, but tomorrow I don't like it, that's my choice, and I have that choice,
09:04because he's given me that choice.
09:06So if you're in some sort of situationship, if you're in some sort of relationship, if you're in any kind
09:12of agreement, there may be a disagreement.
09:16There may be a breakdown.
09:18There may be a separation, and somebody might decide to turn around and do the 180 on you.
09:23And if they do, you never want to be stuck in a situation where you're relying on somebody to pay
09:28your bills, bills, bills.
09:30You need to be able to stand on your own two feet and pay your own, and before you get
09:34yourself into those situations, make sure that you're not overextending yourself.
09:40It is what it is.
09:41This is life, and these are some things that happen on a day-to-day basis.
09:45So I don't know who I'm talking to.
09:47I'm only speaking from real-life experiences, and yeah, no thank you.
09:53Don't give up your power to another human being, song of the day, Bills, Bills, Bills by Destiny's Child, released
10:02in 1999 off of their album The Writings on the Wall.
10:08Well, that was a whole mouthful, and it's time to get in to our special guest tonight, none other than
10:18Danny Lopez.
10:30What's going on, what's going on?
10:32Hey, how are you?
10:35I'm doing great.
10:36It's now 9.30 in the evening.
10:40It's almost 10 o'clock at night in Belgium.
10:45Okay, that's what's up.
10:46It's almost 5 p.m. here on the East Coast in the United States.
10:53Yeah, yeah.
10:53So.
10:54We use a different time because you use p.m. and a.m., and I always get confused because we
11:02use what you call military time.
11:05Military time.
11:07So it's now 9.30 for us.
11:1021.30.
11:15Can I say one thing?
11:17I want to tell you that I really dislike military time.
11:22Yeah.
11:25It confuses me a lot.
11:2621.40.
11:31Can you say you was lagging a little bit?
11:35I was saying that I really dislike military time.
11:38It confuses me a lot.
11:42Yeah.
11:43But it confuses me with a.m. and p.m.
11:45So we have something in common, you know.
11:48Yeah, that's funny.
11:49That's funny.
11:51So what's the temperature like in Belgium?
11:54What's it like?
11:55I see you got a fireplace back there.
11:56Now we use Celsius, five Celsius, what's the day?
12:02Five degrees Celsius.
12:05So.
12:06Again.
12:07It's getting warmer.
12:08Military time.
12:09Yeah.
12:14So it's getting warmer.
12:15So again, military time you guys use, which is eh.
12:19And then you use Celsius and we use Fahrenheit.
12:22So there you go.
12:25And then with meters and the kilometers, you say miles per hour.
12:31Miles per hour.
12:33No.
12:33We say kilometers per hour.
12:36Kilometer.
12:36Yeah.
12:37Like it's a kilo, you know.
12:39And we use inches and centimeters.
12:45Oh, yeah.
12:46We also, we say centimeters and millimeters.
12:49Millimeters.
12:50Millimeters is what you do.
12:53And centimeters.
12:55You know, when I was in France, I also noticed something that was very interesting too.
13:00That you, I'm sure it's the same over there.
13:03You even have different plugs for the outlets.
13:06They don't even use the same outlets.
13:11Like for electricity.
13:14Yeah.
13:16Yeah.
13:17We have, yeah, we have different.
13:20Yeah.
13:20We have a different plug-in.
13:22You have with the, with the thin pins and we have rounds.
13:26Yeah.
13:27Yeah.
13:27I thought that that was interesting.
13:30I will show you one.
13:33Like, uh, wait a minute.
13:39We have like this.
13:41Can you see it?
13:44Yeah, with the round things, right.
13:46Let me show you what we got.
13:47I'm sure you've seen it before, but we have, we have, oh, yeah.
13:54Yeah.
13:54It's cool.
13:55Cool.
13:56Yeah.
13:56That's a different one.
13:57Yeah.
13:58You cannot plug that in.
13:59You need a, right.
14:00From the action, uh, plug-in.
14:03Yeah.
14:04So, so you had to get an adapter and I'm like, I need to charge my phone and all of
14:08this crazy stuff.
14:09So, yeah, it's interesting.
14:11And now do you drive on the left side or the right side of the road?
14:15On the right side.
14:17Right side.
14:18Okay.
14:18Which we do as well.
14:20When you go left to right, you use your blinkers, you know?
14:23Yeah.
14:25We do the same.
14:26Now, here's another thing that I've seen.
14:29Your steering wheel.
14:30So, are you on the passenger side or is it on the driver's side?
14:34Well, I guess that's going to be a weird question.
14:37It's on the left side.
14:38It's on the left side.
14:40Okay.
14:40Because when I was in the Bahamas, um, it was on the right side.
14:46Some cars were on the right.
14:47Yeah.
14:47We call it like the English way, like in England, you know?
14:51I got you.
14:52I got you.
14:55All right.
14:56So, what, um, first of all, how about you?
15:00You just go ahead and let everyone know who you are, your platforms.
15:03I know you're on several different platforms.
15:06Um, just give people a dose of who you are and where they can go ahead and follow you and
15:11support you at.
15:14Okay.
15:14I am, uh, Dan Lopez Superfly.
15:16I am a producer and radio show host in a city radio station in Jankstadt, Belgium, in Lindbergh.
15:25This is where we live.
15:26And, uh, my show is Backstage Radio and I produce under the name Dan Lopez Superfly.
15:33I make music with artists and I release under that name.
15:36You can find me on, uh, Spotify, Apple Music and all streaming platforms.
15:44That's what's up.
15:45That's what's up.
15:45And on Saturday night, live on air or at the radio station with my show.
15:50Now, I'm still waiting for my invitation to come on your show.
15:56Yeah.
15:57I'm, uh, we can make that happen also with a call.
16:01Oh, phone call.
16:02I can call you live on air.
16:03Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
16:04Yeah, phone call.
16:05And I'll hold it to my microphone and then we can, I did it a few times at work.
16:10So, guess who I had on, uh, on Thursday, which was yesterday for, uh, coaching sessions Thursday.
16:17I'm sure you've seen her on the flyer.
16:20Seisha.
16:21Ah.
16:22Yeah, Seisha Blanca.
16:23Seisha Blanca.
16:24Yeah, yeah.
16:24She was on, uh, yesterday.
16:27I know for a while.
16:28Yeah.
16:29Uh, a few years ago, uh, I had an email with her music.
16:34And biography and like that.
16:38And via Facebook and everything, we got to know each other.
16:41You know, she's a good artist.
16:43Yeah.
16:43She came up independent and now she's, wow.
16:46Yeah.
16:47Now, how did you get in contact with most of the artists in, um, the U.S.?
16:53Because I know you introduced me to, uh, I think Selfmade.
16:57Selfmade EST.
17:00Yeah.
17:00Selfmade EST.
17:02I have music with him.
17:04That's one of my singles with Rebel, uh, Champions with, uh, Rebel Ashes and Selfmade EST.
17:10Also on Spotify.
17:13And now how do I do it?
17:15Uh, yeah, I was always with my, I started with my radio show and I wanted to play music
17:20that was not heard here and I have a big interest in Boombap hip hop and underground hip hop.
17:26But I was all searching for new artists and hard to find music.
17:31So I started to network online, searching for people in the USA, making music with independent artists.
17:38Uh, I was really not looking for the major artists.
17:41So I wanted to find raw diamonds, bring a fresh new music to my show.
17:45Um, and that's, I'm doing it almost for 12 years and like that, I'm always online, uh, searching for artists
17:52saying, Hey, what's up?
17:54I'm from Belgium.
17:55Uh, can I play your music, you know, uh, and asking for permission, you know, because that's important.
18:03You cannot just go take somebody music, play it, and they don't know what, let them know, you know, let
18:10them have the favorite to know.
18:12That's what's up.
18:13That's what's up.
18:13And, uh, all those, yeah, I like to approach like, uh, yeah.
18:19And if I'm easy to make friends with, you know, and, uh, yeah, let's make, that makes a good option
18:26for it to go and network, always networking.
18:29That's good.
18:30Almost over a decade.
18:32And, um, you're reaching out to people, you're interacting with people from overseas, which that could be a, uh, a
18:40challenge.
18:41Um, you know, even with us, because people think I live in America, but if they, and then they call
18:48me, Hey, let's meet up.
18:50No, I can't.
18:51I'm from Belgium.
18:51I don't care.
18:53Right, right, right.
18:54Now, even with that being said, um, I've always found this very fascinating.
19:00And I don't know if this is still the case today, but from what I understand is that.
19:09People who are overseas, they're more liked and loved in the U S and vice versa, uh, artists who are
19:19in the U S people go crazy, crazy for them in Europe.
19:25So is that the same thing as far as when it comes to independent artists or is it more of
19:31just like a mainstream thing?
19:32No, I think the U S is oversaturated with the music and now have like Netflix type of everybody's doing
19:40dropping music.
19:41One was this track, one was like another track, uh, AI doing this thing and everything.
19:47I think oversaturated.
19:49And when we find new artists and new music here, yeah, we freak out, you know, because we love hip
19:54hop, love house music, you know, and everything jazz.
19:58Yes.
20:00Okay.
20:01Okay.
20:01Okay.
20:01You just opened up a door for so many, so many questions for me.
20:05Um, so let's speak about the genre of music.
20:10So you said, I know that you all love house.
20:14You love house.
20:15There's this underground house music movement.
20:17I love disclosure.
20:18Like the house music, uh, a little bit, uh, started in Belgium and in the Netherlands, you know, the culture.
20:24Uh, yeah, like the nineties classics, the most nineties classics in Belgium and Netherlands made.
20:34Okay.
20:34So like, you know, who disclosure disclosure is, right?
20:38Yeah.
20:39Disclosure.
20:39You know, the group disclosure.
20:41Yeah.
20:41Okay.
20:42So now let's take it, take it back to the nineties.
20:44One of my favorite groups that I fell in love with them, like 89 is this group called soul to
20:50soul and they're from London.
20:53Okay.
20:54And they play a lot in London.
20:57They have, um, their popular song, keep on moving.
21:01And then they have another popular song called back to life.
21:04I'm sure you've heard back.
21:05I'm sure you have.
21:07I think I've heard.
21:08So, um, absolutely.
21:12Keep on moving.
21:13Absolutely.
21:14So how popular is soul to soul out there?
21:22Because they're still, they're still torn.
21:23They still do things out there.
21:25Yeah, but you don't hear it unless the radio really is playing it.
21:31And, uh, yeah, what you now hear are like modern songs and, uh, but if you go to the classics
21:42in the shows, I'm, uh, you know.
21:45So now your music.
21:48Maybe sometimes we have an event.
21:51Uh, I love the nineties.
21:53I'm mostly around that time.
21:55Uh, all the ragers are playing nineties musics.
21:58You know, maybe that's when the time and all the tracks come on.
22:02I got you.
22:03Hey, uh, and I want to do free promo for the event, but they have to, uh, send you a
22:08message for that bro.
22:11So, um, what is your favorite?
22:15I know you do the hip hop, but I know of course we've talked about house music.
22:19You even said something about jazz, which that's new to me because I didn't think that jazz was popular.
22:26You know, I feel like out of all of the genres, I feel like jazz tends to sort of like
22:32get the back burner, but hip hop, of course, is number one.
22:36Um, no matter where you're at, what is your favorite hip hop, R&B, jazz house?
22:43Uh, in fact, I like jazz because of my colleague, Nico, with the show blue notes on Sunday on a
22:52radio.
22:52Okay.
22:52He has a jazz program, so, uh, I know jazz because of him, uh, and, uh, if I'm a shoes
22:59for a genre, I think the boom bap hip hop, old school boom bap, 90s, a rock style hip hop.
23:07I know what you're talking about, yeah.
23:09Yeah.
23:10Yep.
23:10Okay.
23:12Interesting.
23:12I didn't know that jazz, uh, was something that, uh, I mean, just thinking about what we have going on
23:19here in the States.
23:20I feel like jazz is sort of like, it's there, it's good.
23:25This is bad about it, but I don't.
23:27You also have, yeah, you have recipes, Toots Steelermonts, uh, also via Nico.
23:32Uh, yeah, you have, uh, famous Belgium, uh, jazz musicians, like Toots Steelermonts, with, uh, how do you call it
23:39an instrument?
23:40Uh, the, uh, the harmonica, harmonica.
23:43Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
23:45Toots Steelermonts, if you're looking up from Belgium, Toots, and, uh, you will hear the famous sounds, you will recognize
23:51some.
23:52Uh, if you like jazz, I bet you heard, uh, from them.
23:56I probably have a lot of times.
23:58I know the song before I know the artists.
24:00I know I hear it first and I'm like, oh yeah, I've heard that before.
24:04And then I go searching for, you know, the, the artists.
24:09I love, uh, apps like Shazam because I'll be just somewhere minding my business and a song will catch my
24:15ear.
24:15Oh, what is this?
24:16So I always have Shazam on my phone to, you know, help me out when it comes to learning new
24:22music.
24:22Like now, speaking of technology, we're going to flow into this segment because I'm curious to see what you think
24:28about this.
24:28But you spoke about it earlier.
24:31AI, there's so many artists out there.
24:33Things are saturated, you know, especially in the U.S.
24:37Everybody, it's, it's kind of ridiculous.
24:39The amount of requests that I get for people that want to come on the podcast and everything.
24:44And I'm like, are you even real or are you a computer?
24:48It's, it's a lot going on.
24:49So how do you think that AI helps the music industry or do you think it hurts the music industry?
24:57It hurts because one stream is already 0.004 of a cent.
25:05So what is one stream?
25:06You, to make four euros, I need 1,000 streams.
25:11And if you don't own a full hundred percent, like producers like me, you, maybe you own 40 or 50
25:17percent, it's still 50 percent of it.
25:19Not the whole part of it, you know?
25:22So that's with the royalties and the distribution and the rate they do the streaming.
25:28Well, if they say, okay, put it on one full cent, okay, well, that's a difference.
25:33But the most rappers are not making, it's just, yeah, I have almost 21,000 streams.
25:40And I think I earned from royalties around 30, 30 dollars.
25:46Yeah.
25:47That's interesting that you brought that up because I wanted to speak about that as well when it comes to
25:52the streaming.
25:53Because I'm from the 80s, 90s era when it comes to music.
25:5890s was like amazing.
26:00Yeah.
26:01I'm, I'm glad that I was.
26:02You can buy singles.
26:04Exactly.
26:05Singles was everybody buying.
26:07So that's what, what the money came in and the money arrows for the music, you know, it's really killed
26:12it.
26:14So.
26:14Yeah.
26:15I, I love the, the fact that you could get CDs and you can read the covers.
26:18We have pictures.
26:19We knew exactly what studio they went to.
26:22They used to give their shout outs and thank you.
26:24The whole story.
26:26A whole story.
26:27Yep.
26:27I told the story.
26:28The lyrics.
26:29He was rapping with them.
26:30Yeah.
26:30I remember the T-Pak tapes and the T-Pak tapes.
26:33Yep.
26:33Man, I really.
26:35So now, now we stream.
26:37So I understand what you think about the streaming because I heard that in order for you to make something,
26:42you have to be a major superstar.
26:44You have to be a major superstar who gets multiple plays.
26:48If you're clever, you don't have to be a major superstar to still make something if you take it on
26:53clever.
26:53So you have the royalties and distribution, but you have, uh, more, uh, agencies that pay out, you know, like,
27:05uh, the copyright and stuff.
27:06And then stuff like this, like, uh, that people can put in the homes, you know, uh, opening up, uh,
27:14more, more stuff to do a little bit of merchandise, you know, always helps.
27:19If you're a good artist, uh, performing is the main thing.
27:23You got to make sure you're performing.
27:28Okay.
27:29And now we're talking about financial and music.
27:32You got to have a J or B.
27:35Ah, come on now.
27:37Okay.
27:38I'm also a wet coat painter.
27:40I do radio.
27:41I'm a producer, but I'm also a wet coat painter.
27:44I paint parts of trucks in the factory every day, eight hours a day.
27:49Okay.
27:50So you wanted something now you just opened up so many different questions.
27:53First of all, I love the, uh, Gwen Gunthry, uh, you know, intro that you did, uh, J O B.
27:59I love that.
28:00Um, Foxy Brown feature Maya.
28:03They also also did the remix too.
28:04So I love that, but you do, you do have to have a J O B and this is what
28:08we speak about here on financial Friday.
28:10So you just basically opened up the door for that.
28:12So how important is it for you to be an independent artist or just an artist in general?
28:19Let's just speak artists in general.
28:20Me, I'm a podcaster.
28:22You, you're a producer, musician.
28:24How important is it for you to make sure that you have your financial aspect in order?
28:30How important?
28:31Because it's more investing than earning music nowadays.
28:35Mixing, mastering is costing me more money than I make from the streaming.
28:41So, you, you, you, you have to take it on the long way.
28:45You have to start now to win in a few years.
28:49You know, uh, I, I do it now for two or three years, but, um, I think when I'm at
28:5410 years, I'm a winner there.
28:56You know, let me win at 10 years.
28:58Not now.
28:59So I'm a winner, you work it up, you know, gather up the streamings and, uh, take a job.
29:05If you're not happy with the money from your first job, take that job while you have that job, apply,
29:10apply for better job.
29:12When the better job takes you, you go to the better job.
29:15If you're not happy, you still apply, apply.
29:18When the more better job takes you, go there.
29:20And that's how you get up, uh, you know, the, the, uh, I agree.
29:29I agree.
29:30See what I think that the powers that be, and I'm saying this very loosely, but the powers that be
29:38who control the music industry,
29:41I feel that they're selling our youth, uh, a dream.
29:45They're selling them a dream in some cases to lead them in a false direction.
29:51They're letting them believe that that's mine and others.
29:54They're selling you something that is mine and others with expensive subscriptions.
29:59And we get the crumbs and that's a damn shame.
30:05That is a one.
30:07That's one aspect about it.
30:09That is one aspect about it when it comes to artists performing, but they don't have to, they get for
30:15the performance,
30:16but they don't have the ticket money because the ticket money is way much more than the booking fee, you
30:21know?
30:22So, and it's like Spotify.
30:24We are, we are performing in Spotify, but you paying for the ticket, but we don't have a share on
30:30that ticket money.
30:32We just get for the, uh, one stream 0.004 or sometimes less because if it's, uh, premiums, uh, or,
30:43uh, not pay, uh, no subscription, uh, stream, you know, depends on what country or is a premium data, uh,
30:51as low as $1.
30:52The stream is almost nothing, you know, so what you get 25 cents want and then 30 cents and then
31:0050 cents.
31:02And, and that's so, uh, profound that you said that because think about the dollars is just doesn't weigh out,
31:10you know, what they charge and what you get paid is something different.
31:13But young people looking in, they see the rappers on TV.
31:17They say the jewelry, they see the cars, they see the chains, they see the houses.
31:21And in most cases, sometimes that stuff is fake.
31:24So they get into it and that's the first thing they run out and want to do.
31:29They want to buy the biggest chain.
31:31They want to, you know, get the flyers closed.
31:33They want to be, you know, making it rain instead of thinking about it a different way from a financial
31:40aspect of how do I stay around for a long time?
31:42And how do I be an artist that has longevity instead of, you know, here today, tomorrow.
31:50I think I'm a producer and a racer.
31:53If I was a rapper, would you, I will tell you what I would do.
31:57I would make my music.
32:00I will make snips and bits of it.
32:02Go viral with it on TikTok and everywhere.
32:06Copy my, buy a set of 2000 CDs to copy.
32:11I copy my own album, sticker it, and I sell it exclusive to the people only.
32:21So never, and it will be never fine to be streamed on exclusive from my hand to buy the album.
32:28You cannot stream it.
32:29You cannot find it.
32:30You can see the viral TikToks and everything.
32:32But if you want, if you want the full songs, come and get it.
32:39Now, I got a question.
32:41All USB sticks.
32:42USB sticks with the brand.
32:44Oh, I was.
32:44Same over.
32:46Two fans.
32:48That's what I was going to say.
32:49Let's boil it screaming.
32:52Okay, that's what I was going to say, because you said the CD aspect, and I was going to ask
32:56you, do people still listen to CDs?
32:59Oh, vinyl's still hot here.
33:00People are still doing CDs.
33:02Like the cassettes from back in the days are also getting popular back.
33:07The Walkmans are coming back.
33:09That's crazy.
33:10People are releasing them.
33:11Cassette tape, everything.
33:13I didn't like cassette tapes, because if I like a song, I hate that you have to keep rewinding and
33:19then stopping and rewinding and stopping until you get right to that song.
33:23But, you know, with the CDs, you can hit the button.
33:25Boom, that was a game changer for me.
33:27Yeah, but on the empty cassette, you was making your own mixtapes with the radio.
33:32I know.
33:33I know.
33:33I know.
33:34Yeah.
33:36So, that was an awesome era.
33:38You had, oh, this track, this track, you know, waiting on the radio until they stopped talking, you know.
33:44I hated that.
33:45Oh, I hated that.
33:46Oh, I hated that so much.
33:48They never finished the song.
33:50I know.
33:51Oh, I hated that.
33:52I know what you mean.
33:53But that's what CDs were so good about.
33:54I had a match of a different song.
33:56Yeah.
33:58Yeah, that was some good time.
34:00If you have a fan base, grow it somewhere.
34:04TikTok, Instagram, everywhere is good.
34:07If you can make a fan base, try to sell directly to them.
34:13Okay, so.
34:15And if you have a good fan base, there is also another method.
34:18If you need help and you don't have a team, it's called, I call it, put your fans to work.
34:23If people really want to do something with you, give them, hey, you can be head of social media.
34:29Do my Facebook.
34:30Hey, you can do this.
34:31You can promote me there, you know.
34:33Help me with this.
34:34And engage your fans to be a family.
34:37Your day once, you can do that.
34:39Because the most loyal will help you with everything.
34:42And then when the times comes up, you have a good gig.
34:44You say, hey, bro, you earned the ticket.
34:46Come to the gig, you know.
34:48And everything.
34:49And this time, you have a fan base.
34:51And they have more connection with you.
34:55Now, do you, will you trust somebody to do your social media?
34:59Do you trust anybody to take over any aspects of your business?
35:05First thing, social media is not really good for private.
35:11If you go, and my, it's all about music, the radio.
35:15So, if it's business, it's good.
35:17You can hand it out to somebody in charge.
35:20Because you will not have the time to be on your phone.
35:24Because how else, how do you do your work, you know.
35:29Right, right.
35:30And social media can be nasty.
35:34If you get a lot of stress.
35:36If you get bad comments while you're doing your best, you know.
35:39People get, like, not motivated from it, you know.
35:46I think we were in your Facebook group.
35:49And I think you had to shut down a couple people in the Facebook group.
35:53Because they were getting crazy.
35:54Yeah, yeah.
35:54Remember that?
35:55Yeah, I have a big group.
35:57And there's a few chat rooms.
35:59And, yeah, sometimes they fight.
36:01I don't know what happens.
36:02They go look and they see a fight in the chat.
36:04And say, hey, stop, stop, stop.
36:07Right.
36:08But it's cool.
36:09I got people in there, you know.
36:13Yeah, a lot of people in there.
36:14Yeah, that's great.
36:16Yeah.
36:17That's another way of using a group on Facebook to get a community on your own together.
36:22Let them interact with each other.
36:24Let them share stuff on it, you know.
36:27Make sure to always be also there to engage with them.
36:31And, you know, build a fan base.
36:34And that's if you get 1,000, 2,000 people.
36:38And when you drop your CD or USB stick or something, you have a place to go and try to
36:45sell it, you know.
36:49Now, I spoke about how you interacted with people overseas.
36:55Not overseas.
36:56You're overseas to me.
36:58But basically over here in the U.S.
37:02Have you found it difficult where people in your own backyard, have you found it difficult to work with some
37:11people in your own backyard?
37:17So, it's, uh, yeah.
37:20Yeah, it happens.
37:21You have difficult people.
37:23Sometimes you lose.
37:24Sometimes you win.
37:25You know.
37:26Like in the past before, I was downloaded by Superfly.
37:30I had to fail somewhere to become successful after that under my own name.
37:39So, I started the other labor with some friends.
37:42I got, uh, I got scammed out of my investment.
37:46The back, uh, paying me back never happened.
37:49And, uh, instead of taking revenge, I took my knowledge.
37:54Everything I did, I turned around, did it all for myself.
37:57I started up, Dan Lopez, Superfly.
37:59I, uh, only have six singles out, but I'm rivaling with my streams.
38:05I'm doing good.
38:06And, uh, yeah, I still have more to come, you know.
38:09And, uh, yeah.
38:10So, so, I, I lost with friends.
38:15Well, I went and won on my own, you know.
38:18Not, not only a loss with friends, but unfortunately a loss financially as well.
38:23Sometimes we have to go through things financially.
38:25So, that we understand because we, we could be so trust-worthy of people.
38:31Buy verses from artists.
38:34If you go and buy verses, like 16 bars.
38:38Yeah, I can, I lost, I lost money, bro.
38:41But, hey, I, I turned my back.
38:45I trusted myself on what I know and what I can do.
38:48And, you know.
38:50You know what, you know what the, uh, the great thing behind that is, is that, uh, you've
38:54learned your lesson and it won't happen again.
38:57Yeah.
38:58And, I mean, well.
38:59I split for a second.
39:00Uh, because, uh, what was I going to decide to do?
39:04Because I wasn't a, wow.
39:07Uh, I really lost base, you know.
39:09I could take revenge, go after them.
39:12But, I really said, you know what?
39:16I'm going to do it no more.
39:20Right, right.
39:21You, you, you end up on top when you don't take revenge.
39:24And, that was going to be another question that I was going to ask.
39:28Like, if you were to see people from the past who've done things wrong to you, who thought
39:33that they got away with things.
39:34How do you think you would interact with those individuals if you went to an award show, if
39:38you went to an event, if you saw them in the street?
39:41How do you think that the newer version of yourself would address them today?
39:45Or, would you even say anything anyway?
39:47Well, thank them for staying away for so long and ask them to go away for more.
39:53I got you.
39:55I got you.
39:56That's a good response.
39:58I used to always say, oh my goodness, I can't wait until I see this person.
40:02I'm going to, you know, go in.
40:05It's going to be a problem.
40:06Like, when they see me coming.
40:07Because if you're going to, words like casting spells, you have to be careful what you say.
40:13Because if you're going to ask for it, you're going to get it, you know?
40:17I know that's right.
40:18Because if you do good, you get good, you know?
40:22It's like karma, you know?
40:25Good karma, bad karma, you know?
40:27I know that's right.
40:28I know that's right.
40:29That is awesome.
40:32So, if we can talk about money a little bit before we get out of here.
40:38Yeah, I'm going to order a little drink.
40:41Okay.
40:43Okay, that's what's up.
40:44That's what's up.
40:45I don't have time.
40:48So, all right.
40:50So, money in Belgium versus money.
40:54Oi.
40:55How's it?
40:55My God.
40:57Hey.
40:57What's your name?
40:59It's Kylie, my girlfriend.
41:00How do you?
41:02What's going on?
41:03She's also content creator.
41:04Yeah.
41:06Well, we're going to have to have her come on one day.
41:08Yeah, I have to start up a YouTube channel.
41:13She's a, you know the term cozy gaming?
41:16I don't know the gaming industry.
41:19Relaxing games.
41:20She has a game.
41:22She plays a Disney Dream Life Valley.
41:24Hey, not sponsored by Disney.
41:25We do it all.
41:28Yeah, she's great at it.
41:30She's like a double pro in the game.
41:32And she makes videos about it on a YouTube channel.
41:37And Disney Dream Life Valley.
41:41Okay, the game.
41:42And she has a channel.
41:43Can I do a shout out?
41:45Sure.
41:45Go ahead.
41:46She has a YouTube channel, Gaming with Kylie and the one behind it.
41:52And if you are from a Disney fan, you can always see her relaxing gameplay.
41:58So it's Gaming with Kylie and the number one.
42:02Yeah.
42:03I can send you the link later on.
42:05Yeah, I'll definitely want to check that out.
42:07Yeah, definitely.
42:10So U.S., how we handle money, and you're in Belgium.
42:15I know we were speaking a little bit off air about the taxes and everything.
42:23So, how is it?
42:25Belgium.
42:28Say it again.
42:29The war in Iran, man.
42:30The war in Iran is making everything expensive.
42:35Okay.
42:35Okay.
42:36Gas price everywhere, yeah.
42:39So you're experiencing that as well.
42:41So my question to you is, do you know exactly where every dollar goes?
42:47Huh.
42:49In the pockets of the politicians.
42:51I don't know.
42:53No, I mean, okay.
42:54So I mean, so for you.
42:57When a paycheck, when it comes to money that you get.
43:00Yeah, we have it in euros.
43:02Euros, huh?
43:03And yeah, we have like 50, I think 50 or 51% income tax directly from a paycheck.
43:12Yikes, that is insane.
43:14We have a whole bunch of taxes.
43:17We have tax on cinema tickets.
43:20We have tax on festival tickets.
43:22Tax on food.
43:23If you go out in a restaurant tax.
43:25You got road tax.
43:26You got a few.
43:27If you die to, if you leave money to your family.
43:32They have tax, tax on the, it's like, they're a big fan.
43:38Yeah.
43:39But I think it's everywhere now.
43:41With wars.
43:42I don't know what's happening.
43:44Why all these wars?
43:48Well, it's about money.
43:52Yeah, but it's definitely not benefiting the people.
43:57Oh, of course not.
44:00It's benefiting a few, but it's going to benefit the savvy people, the financially savvy people
44:09who know about investing and things of that nature.
44:13The everyday person who doesn't know anything about investing, their dollars are being eaten
44:18away by inflation and taxes and all of the things that we're speaking about.
44:24And they're making people scared because, hey, the stock markets are going to crash.
44:33To be clear, if you don't have your money, people are like, we don't have our money.
44:37We don't have to be afraid.
44:39Only the people who have their money in the stock markets, they have to be afraid.
44:42Why are you making us afraid where our money is not even in there?
44:48Wow.
44:48Why are you making me afraid?
44:50It's going to crash.
44:51It's going to crash and burn, man.
44:54Let everything flat zero back again.
44:58I don't believe, again, and this is only my beliefs, and I'm not a financial advisor.
45:03I'm not a financial planner.
45:04I'm only a financial coach.
45:05But personally, me, I don't believe that would have ever crashed a flat zero.
45:09So the prices are going up, keep going up, housing, rent, but the paychecks, not, are blocked?
45:17It's called inflation.
45:20No, no, no, no.
45:21It's called inflation, and it's been around.
45:24It's a made-up word.
45:29So my question is, what does retirement look like in Belgium?
45:34What age is retirement?
45:36Do people retire with money?
45:37People older than me, they had a chance.
45:41They saved up time enough.
45:43But now, like me, every few years, we have a new government, so I always have to be afraid.
45:49What are they now going to do with it?
45:51What is their plan?
45:53And I really don't know.
45:57Okay.
45:58Okay.
45:59That's fair enough.
46:00Minus.
46:12So what it sounds like is it's the same thing that goes on in the United States.
46:17And what that is, is that we're not going to teach people about money.
46:23We're not going to talk to them about how to invest their money.
46:27We're not going to teach them how money works.
46:29Because if we don't teach them about money, then they basically stay stuck in a matrix.
46:35Have you heard that before?
46:36Stuck in a matrix?
46:38Stuck in the system?
46:40Yeah.
46:41You're stuck in a matrix and you're stuck in a system when you don't know anything about financial literacy.
46:47Just the way it goes.
46:50I think you have to get aware that there is a system.
46:53If you don't know it, you are an NPC, not playable character, we call that in the gaming.
46:59People who have the same pattern year in, year out.
47:05Absolutely.
47:07Work role.
47:08It's like school and everything.
47:10Yeah.
47:10In education, we're getting ready for factory.
47:15We're getting trained to do the hours, eight hours at factory.
47:18So at school, we do eight hours.
47:20So it's trained to get you in the factories, not to get you smart.
47:26Sorry, I don't want to start getting into school.
47:28Exactly.
47:29No, no, no.
47:30You're telling the truth.
47:31They are not training us to do anything except become slaves to the system.
47:37You are absolutely right.
47:41And you get caught up in student loan debt.
47:46The day is 24 hours.
47:47What is night then?
47:50They say 24 hours.
47:53The day has 24 hours.
47:54What is night then?
47:58Exactly.
47:59Exactly.
48:00Because if you only have 12 hours in a day, you will never give up eight to go to a
48:06J-O-B.
48:09Exactly.
48:11Exactly.
48:12Exactly.
48:13This has been so great.
48:14I would like to invite you to my master class.
48:19I'm having a master class on Sunday, which is basically it's let me make sure that I get this right.
48:29The spiritual cost of debt, teaching you about how being in debt can affect your spiritual.
48:37And when it affects your spiritual, it affects other different realms, such as the mental, mental health, physical, and also
48:46the financial, which is, I believe, one of the number one causes as well.
48:50So you see me on Instagram.
48:54I'll send you the link as well.
48:55But definitely come to the master class.
48:58Two hours.
48:59Get some financial literacy.
49:01I have made it my goal to teach as many people who are willing to learn about financial literacy.
49:09And, yeah, we can dig into this room.
49:12Oh, absolutely.
49:14Definitely would love to have you because what you're speaking about, you know some things.
49:19You're speaking.
49:20And once you get it all, you're going to be able to connect the dots and you're going to be
49:24like, okay, now I really get it.
49:26Yeah.
49:27You know some things.
49:28You know some things.
49:31Thank you for the compliment, bro.
49:33You're also, bro.
49:33You're brilliant, man.
49:34You look fly, man.
49:38I appreciate you.
49:40Well, we got to go ahead and get out of here.
49:42So go ahead and let everybody know once again where they can go ahead and follow you at.
49:48Yeah.
49:48I'm Dan Lopes Superflyer on the radio and on Spotify.
49:52And I have one last shout-out if I can do one.
49:55I have a breaking news shout-out.
49:58I have a Belgian rapper.
50:01Oh, we lost him right as he was getting ready to give his shout-out.
50:06Wow.
50:08Let's see if we can bring him back up real quick.
50:11Here.
50:12Oh, you're here.
50:13You're here.
50:13Go ahead.
50:13I have a breaking news.
50:16A great rapper from Belgium that I know, MC Rokos.
50:19He has a track with the son of Nate Dogg, Inhale.
50:23The title is called Inhale featuring Inhale.
50:26So go and check it.
50:28That's what's up.
50:30With Nate Dogg's son, huh?
50:31Yeah.
50:32Inhale is his artist's name.
50:34And the track is also called Inhale with MC Rokos.
50:37And that's big news, man.
50:40That's what's up.
50:41That's what's up.
50:41I did see that on your page.
50:43I did see that.
50:44Yeah.
50:44The king of books is fun.
50:47Congratulations on that one.
50:49All right.
50:51Salute to Rokos for this one.
50:53Yes.
50:54Thank you, bro.
50:55Thank you so much for joining.
50:56We got to have you come back.
50:57And I need you to bring some people with you.
50:59Next time, I will do you back a favor on my radio show.
51:04And then I call you.
51:07Okay.
51:07Super, super.
51:08Yeah, I'm there.
51:09You'll make it happen.
51:09I'm there.
51:10And then until Sunday.
51:12Yes.
51:13I'll see you.
51:14All right.
51:15Take care.
51:16Okay.
51:16Have a good night.
51:17Thanks, bro.
51:18Bye.
51:19No problem.
51:20There you go, ladies and gentlemen.
51:21That was Superfly.
51:23Danny Lopez, all the way from Belgium.
51:33I had no idea that he was going to take it there when it comes to some of the things
51:38when
51:38it comes to financial literacy.
51:40And these are the things that I speak about.
51:41And, of course, I take it there a heck of a lot more than what I do on a podcast
51:45because
51:46I can only touch it surface level here on a podcast.
51:49But when we do my financial strategy sessions, when we do my master class sessions, they go
51:55a little bit deeper.
51:56So, depending on when you catch this, please go ahead and text me at 609-210-98 if you want
52:02to learn more.
52:03I am giving away some complimentary seats for my master class.
52:07So, I know that the recording timing might be off for a little bit, but still, you should
52:12be able to catch the replay at this moment by the time you've listened to this.
52:15So, again, you want to know about how you can catch that replay of the two-hour master
52:20class, please just text me the word replay to 609-210-98.
52:26Again, that is replay to 609-210-98.
52:30And other than that, I want to say thank you all so much for joining in.
52:34If you've heard anything that has sparked some sort of interest where you're like, you
52:38know what, I want to learn a little bit more.
52:41I want to know exactly what he's speaking about when it comes to that debt-free living.
52:45If you are an individual who said, I have had enough.
52:48I am tired of robbing Peter to pay Paul.
52:51I'm tired of being stuck on a hamster wheel and feeling like I can't get off.
52:56I'm tired of being down here on the ground and I can't get any lower.
53:01You want to cut up the credit cards.
53:02You don't want to deal with that anymore.
53:04You are tired of the car payments.
53:06You're tired of the vicious cycle over and over and over again, in and out of debt, in
53:12and out of debt, in and out of debt.
53:13But when you say no more and you really mean no more, shout out to my girl, Mary J.
53:19Blige.
53:20I can just think about no more drama right now.
53:22But when you really do say no more drama and you really don't want any more of the nonsense
53:26in your life, you might be ready.
53:30If you still want to swipe the card, if you still stuck on buy now, pay now, if you still
53:35scrolling on a gram and tick tock and just, you know, Amazon prime delivering to your door
53:40every five minutes, then you're not ready.
53:43I'm talking to the individuals who have had enough.
53:46You already know what it's like.
53:48You don't have to worry about going to hell because you've experienced hell on earth.
53:51You've experienced when you're not able to pay your bills properly.
53:53You have experienced when you've been stuck and you don't even know what you're going to
53:56do when you're trying to figure out which bill you're going to pay.
53:59Head on over to laryngaines.com.
54:02Sign up for that free 15-minute consultation.
54:05I'm telling you, I focus on debt-free living from four different realms, spiritual, mental,
54:11physical, and financial.
54:12We focus on a spiritual aspect first.
54:14We flow into the mental to get your mindset together because it's really about mindset,
54:20how you think and feel about money.
54:22And then we focus on a physical, how you show up in the physical world when it comes to
54:26dealing with money.
54:27And then, of course, if you stay true to those three pillars, spiritual, mental, physical,
54:34the financial is just going to come so easy once you learn the principles.
54:38Head on over to laryngaines.com.
