00:01Previously on Project Runway...
00:03For this challenge, you're going to create a look that is street chic.
00:07Got her.
00:08And your second challenge is to take one of the losing looks and reposition it into a winning look.
00:14Harina, you're with Sharquita.
00:17I should not be here.
00:22This is the last thing the judges will see to decide who goes to Fashion Week.
00:30Amanda, congratulations.
00:33You're moving forward to New York Fashion Week.
00:36Kini, you're in.
00:39Thank you, thank you.
00:41Sean, you are also competing at New York Fashion Week.
00:44It felt homeless, I'm sorry, and it really freaked me out.
00:48I'm kind of in between with both of the looks.
00:51You have a nice eye for color.
00:54Emily, I'm sorry you're out.
00:56Sharquita, your time on Project Runway...
01:00...continues.
01:02Oh, my goodness.
01:03Thank you so much.
01:24Hello, designers, and congratulations.
01:26You're all moving forward to New York Fashion Week.
01:29Oh, my gosh.
01:30I can't believe I'm going to Fashion Week.
01:32It's just amazing to me.
01:34You've worked very hard for this incredible distinction.
01:38I did it.
01:39I made it.
01:40Lots of twists and turns.
01:42I couldn't be happier about our final four.
01:44We're all very proud of you.
01:45We are.
01:46You have $9,000 to create a 10-look collection in just five short weeks.
01:51New York Fashion Week.
01:52New York Fashion Week.
01:53Yeah, no pressure, except all the pressure in the world.
01:57This is it.
01:58And, designers, there is more.
02:00We would like to introduce you to Dorothy Dowling from Best Western International.
02:04Dorothy has something very exciting to share with you.
02:07Very exciting.
02:08Very exciting.

02:53Designers, you'll be traveling to Rome, Italy.
02:59Oh, my God!
03:00That is crazy!
03:01Yes!
03:02You're leaving tonight.
03:04Oh, my God!
03:05And I'm going with you.
03:07Okay!
03:08I've never been to Rome.
03:11I thought I was going to have to go to the library in downtown Nashville to get my inspiration.
03:16Oh, my God!
03:17You will have three days to explore the city.
03:19It's all about inspiration.
03:21So your challenge is to create a ten-piece finale collection inspired by the ancient city of Rome.
03:28All right?
03:29And when you return to the States, you'll just have a few weeks to create this collection,
03:35and then you'll be back in New York for Fashion Week.
03:37Are you excited?
03:38Oh, my God!
03:39Arrivederci and make sure you all come back, okay?
03:44Get out of here, guys!
03:45Yeah!
03:46Get back in!
03:50Look at that!
03:51Look at that!
03:52These are nice!
03:53Yes!
03:54I've never been out of the country.
03:55I've been to different states.
03:56So this is going to be crazy.
04:02Hi!
04:03Hi!
04:04We're excited!
04:05Amanda has on our sexy specs.
04:06We're going to Rome, Italy.
04:08Great.
04:11We've chosen Rome to inspire the designers for its incredible architecture, history, and culture.
04:17Yeah!
04:18We're here!
04:19We're here!
04:20Stepping off the plane.
04:21I don't know.
04:22It's surreal a little bit.
04:23It's crazy.
04:25It's one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
04:27I'm excited!
04:28I've never been to Europe, but it has been, like, one of my dream places to go.
04:34Super excited.
04:35Oh, my God.
04:36Woo!
04:37Hi, Tim.
04:39Good morning, designers.
04:40Welcome to Best Western Premier, and welcome to Rome.
04:45Check in, everyone.
04:47Welcome to Best Western Premier.
04:48Hope you enjoy your stay here.
04:52Oh, cute.
04:53Super cute.
04:54Cool.
04:55Perfect.
04:56Yay.
04:57We only have a couple of days, so I've chosen a number of sites for their inspirational value.
05:09Look at this.
05:10Look at the color of these walls.
05:13Just soaking in the atmosphere of Rome is invigorating.
05:16Everything is inspiration here.
05:18I feel like even just walking around the streets, the houses.
05:22Beautiful building.
05:23Today we'll visit what I call Rome's greatest hits, starting with the Colosseum.
05:28What do you think?
05:29Here it is.
05:30Oh, my God.
05:31This is freaking amazing.
05:32The Colosseum is right in front of us.
05:33I've seen it in movies.
05:34I've seen it in pictures, but I'm actually looking at it right now.
05:35How cool is that?
05:36You all are walking on 2,000-year-old cobblestones.
05:37Wow.
05:38If you can believe that.
05:39So, we're in the Roman Forum.
05:40This was the center of government.
05:41It was the center of social activity.
05:42And if you look to that, you're going to be in the Roman Forum.
05:43And if you're going to be in the Roman Forum, it's the center of government.
05:44In the Roman Forum, it was the center of social activity.
05:47And, if you look to that, you're going to be in the Roman Forum.
05:48What do you think?
05:49What do you think?
05:50It's amazing.
05:51What do you think?
05:52Here it is.
05:53Oh, my God.
05:54This is freaking amazing.
05:55This is freaking amazing.
05:56if you can believe that.
05:57So we're in the Roman Forum.
05:59This was the center of government.
06:00It was the center of social activity.
06:03And if you look to that grassy area to your left,
06:05it is said that that is where Brutus murdered Caesar.
06:09Oh.
06:10Yes.
06:11Wow.
06:12It's a lot to wrap your brain around.
06:14This is definitely inspiring.
06:15Seeing where Caesar was walking on the same path
06:18as that I was walking on is really kicking off my imagination.
06:22It's amazing.
06:26What?
06:27The Pantheon is another of Rome's architectural masterpieces.
06:34Wow.
06:38This is the Piazza na Bona.
06:40This church was designed by an architect named Bordemini.
06:45And this sculpture was designed by the architect Bernini.
06:48The visuals of this city are really just amazing.
06:52It's really exciting to soak it all in.
06:54Three, two, one.
06:55So cute.
06:56Yay.
06:56That's cute.
06:58There's so much history here.
06:59It's staggering.
07:00I mean, we're here for three days.
07:02It's all part of your inspiration for your collections,
07:05which I'm certain you've begun to think about.
07:07Because there's no time.
07:09Oh, yeah.
07:10It's going to go by so fast.
07:11Really no time.
07:13We have five weeks to make a 10-piece collection,
07:17which is freaking me out.
07:19So how inspiring is this?
07:34Oh, my gosh.
07:34It's so inspiring.
07:35Like the structure of everything here.
07:37Everything's so old yet still put together like it hasn't been worn for how many years?
07:42Well, and also, look at its staying power.
07:44I know.
07:44I mean, it's incredible.
07:45Yeah.
07:46You know what your challenges are.
07:47Oh, yeah.
07:48The judges have the highest expectation of your level of execution.
07:53So your challenge is really about wowing them with design.
07:55Yeah.
07:56That's what I have to focus on.
07:57Yeah.
07:58All right.
07:59Thank you, Katie.
08:00See you around.
08:01You know, as much as I'm doing all these tiny little details and thinking conceptually
08:03about graphic dimension and da-da-da-da, I just want to make sure that it's, I don't
08:09know, I just, I want it to feel very high fashion.
08:13I want it to play against everything else going on at Fashion Week.
08:16I kind of, I've got a starting direction now.
08:19Well, 10 looks, it's got to be kind of a story told.
08:22It doesn't, there needs to be an area.
08:23It can't be completely crazy every time.
08:26No.
08:27But it also can't be, you can't have moments that are too quiet.
08:29Yeah.
08:30So that's my, like, challenge for this.
08:32So what thoughts do you have about your collection at this point?
08:36It would be just smart of me to definitely scale and pay attention to my competition.
08:41Sure, Katie, whatever you've said repeatedly about this whole season, you said, I need
08:46to be myself.
08:47Yeah.
08:48And that's when you lose yourself.
08:50Yeah.
08:51When you're not being yourself.
08:52I believe that it's the finale collection in which we're going to hear an orchestra from
08:56you.
08:57Ugh.
08:58That literally made my heart smile.
09:00I needed to hear that.
09:01All right.
09:02Okay.
09:03Carry on, Serkita.
09:05For our last stop, I'm taking the designers to a high-end fabric store they could only find
09:11here in Rome.
09:12Designers like Mood will have 30 minutes to shop here.
09:15Okay.
09:16So your 30 minutes begins right now.
09:19I really want to take some Italian fabric home.
09:26I think it'd be nice to have a little bit of that in my collection.
09:29This one feels like I can pull from any color.
09:31You could.
09:32Yeah.
09:33Absolutely.
09:34I saw it the first time.
09:35I think it feels very urban.
09:36Yeah.
09:37Ugh.
09:38This is going to be like almost $800.
09:40Well, you have $9,000.
09:43Yeah.
09:44Yeah.
09:45For you to leave Italy with a commitment to this and let it help drive the collection
09:51would make me a very happy person.
09:53Okay.
09:54Ring it up.
09:55At this point, I have a couple of ideas, but nothing solid.
10:00So I just felt like this fabric, to me, it was like a good palette to start with.
10:04And I'm really excited.
10:05I love it.
10:06Gracias, Bobby.
10:11In honor of our incredible trip to Rome, to New York Fashion Week, to continued success.
10:18Yes.
10:26I'm off to check in with the designers and the progress of their collections.
10:29I'm excited, but I'm also a little nervous.
10:33Aloha, Keeney.
10:34Hi, Tim.
10:35How are you?
10:36Good.
10:37How are you?
10:38I'm wonderful.
10:40So you have 150 looks around here.
10:42Is that it?
10:43We're going to edit?
10:44Yeah.
10:45Okay.
10:46I think everybody would expect me to have three collections done by now, but I don't.
10:50When I came back, I was in this designer's block and it took me forever to get out of it.
10:55So you have all your Rome photographs.
10:57Yes.
10:58My inspiration was my muse, this Park Avenue Princess girl.
11:01She's actually taking a trip to Rome.
11:03Okay.
11:04I'm sticking to denim.
11:05That's my strength.
11:06Okay.
11:07I wanted to reconstruct denim and make it more luxe.
11:09This looks like a couture skirt.
11:12Next piece is a pencil skirt with volume inserts in it.
11:16I love this.
11:17I love the shape.
11:18I love how you've constructed it.
11:20I love how it appears in the sketch.
11:22It's 1,000% you and nothing could make me happier than that.
11:27Awesome.
11:28I was just waiting for that validation that I'm going in the right direction.
11:31Take me to your mother.
11:32You're going to get introduced to my whole family.
11:35So I feel like I know you almost.
11:39Because Delilah, I know that you really are Keeney's teacher and his font of knowledge.
11:45And Valerie, I hear that you're me.
11:49So how are you all feeling about this phenomenon that is Keeney?
11:55You know, when Keeney left, he texted me at the airport and says,
11:58I'm going to go and make you and dad proud of me.
12:00And I said, Keeney, we've been proud of you since the day you were born.
12:03That's why you got the name Keeney Oka Hokuloa, which was the king of the morning star.
12:08Every day that I do my job and I work is for my parents.
12:12I want to make them happy.
12:14If I was to win, that would totally prove that I'm the king of the morning star.
12:19And here is my family.
12:21Hello. Good heavens.
12:23For Tim's visit, my family want to show him an authentic luau.
12:27And it's happening in my backyard.
12:38That'll become my morning exercise routine.
12:40Hey.
12:48Hey.
12:49Hey.
12:50You look fabulous.
12:52Today, I'm going to introduce Tim to my grandfather.
12:54Nice to see you, Charles.
12:55My stepmother.
12:56How proud you must be.
12:57Very proud.
12:58Hello.
12:59And my stepbrother, Elon.
13:00So I want to hear what Sharkita was like growing up.
13:03Oh, Lord.
13:04Always wanted to play dress up.
13:06Always.
13:07My childhood growing up in Detroit.
13:09Yes.
13:10When my mother gave me away at two months old, then my father, he went to jail.
13:15So my grandmother raised me.
13:17But I was surrounded by a lot of love.
13:19I was lucky in that sense.
13:20Are you surprised by the success?
13:22Not at all.
13:23No.
13:24She's a go-getter.
13:25She makes it work.
13:26I can't wait to see your collection.
13:29I have mixed emotions.
13:30Like, I want you to see it, but then...
13:32Well, I'm going to see it.
13:33Yeah, you're definitely going to see it.
13:34I'm really digging deep with this collection.
13:36Well, I'm so thrilled to meet all of you.
13:38Thank you so much.
13:39I'm taking into consideration all the critiques that me and Tim had.
13:43This is so nice.
13:44Nice and cool.
13:45I know.
13:46That's why I like it.
13:47I really want to make Tim proud.
13:48Here we are.
13:49Nice.
13:51Nice.
13:52Yes.
13:53All right.
13:54Color.
13:55Yeah, absolutely.
13:56Yeah.
13:57Coming back from Rome, they have a really easy way of living.
14:02The cars are small.
14:03The qualities of food they give you are small.
14:06They little coffee cups are like this little, so it doesn't take much.
14:09All you need is this.
14:10And this is a beautiful detail.
14:12You can do a lot with a little, so I just wanted to carry that into my collection.
14:16Do you want a button there?
14:18So pristine.
14:19It made me want to design a little simpler as well.
14:22I have a very positive response to this look with the train and to the turquoise dress.
14:28I feel that you're really pushing at the risk factor.
14:31Yes.
14:32You're right on the cusp of costume, but you're not there.
14:35Okay.
14:36For me, this look goes straight to costume.
14:39This looks like she was attacked by a bunch of birds.
14:41Okay.
14:42At this point, it's about refining each of these looks and bringing an eye towards cohesion to everything that you're doing.
14:51Okay.
14:52I definitely feel like I have something to prove.
14:54If I had my way, I'd stay here as your coach right up until Fashion Week.
14:59Kind of underestimated.
15:00Love you, Sergita.
15:01I love you, too.
15:02But I'm okay with being in that position.
15:03Keep your eye on everything.
15:04Because they never see you coming.
15:05Bye.
15:06Bye.
15:07Next, I'm excited to be in Nashville to check in with Amanda.
15:26Welcome, welcome.
15:27Hey.
15:28How are you?
15:29Good to see you.
15:30Welcome.
15:32I want to hear about everything.
15:33Take me on a tour.
15:34So, I have my Rome pictures.
15:37There were a lot of weirdly kind of art deco details.
15:41Yes.
15:42I love how like art deco was this kind of bridge between like modernism and kind of this older style of art.
15:47Yes.
15:48So then it made me think about the 60s and 70s, which obviously I love.
15:51It's this weird bridge between this kind of bohemian thing and this mod thing.
15:57There's something about that that I really, really like.
16:00I'm in agreement.
16:01Okay.
16:02These are the pieces that you're currently working on.
16:04Yeah.
16:05Okay.
16:06Jewelry.
16:07Did you have these made?
16:08Mm-hmm.
16:09Beautiful.
16:10Yeah.
16:11I'm just obsessed with accessories.
16:12I think it's super crucial.
16:13And I really wanted it to kind of have this like Roman armor nod, but feel super, super modern and wearable.
16:20You just need to rake out all that extra stuff.
16:24I feel like I need to grow up a little bit and have a really just modern chic collection.
16:31Oh my goodness.
16:32This is our house.
16:33And that's Will.
16:34Hello, Will.
16:35Hello.
16:36Welcome.
16:37Nice to meet you.
16:38Nice to meet you for a long time.
16:39I'm delighted to meet you.
16:40Ditto.
16:43And how nice.
16:44It's old.
16:45How old is it?
16:46It's just over a hundred years old.
16:47Yeah, 1910 or something.
16:48That's fantastic.
16:49So, Will, this is not only season two for Amanda, but season two for you.
16:53Sure.
16:54It was easier the second time around.
16:55Yeah.
16:56Well, look where you are.
16:57Yeah.
16:58Will, are you kept out of this process?
16:59Is there a role?
17:00No, she brings me inside.
17:01Oh, she does?
17:02Okay.
17:03What's your role?
17:04I'd love to hear.
17:05Brian works creatively for the most part, and so I know I like to just pose questions.
17:09Yep.
17:10Because I don't have answers.
17:11She's always had a voice creatively.
17:12I think since season 11, she's able to find just kind of this inherent confidence in herself.
17:18I'm super proud that she did that.
17:19I'm not totally sure that I thought I could win the first time.
17:24But this time around, I think that my chances are as good as anyone else's.
17:32For everything.
17:33Hello, Kitty.
17:34See you very soon.
17:35Love you.
17:36Love you.
17:37Bye.
17:46I moved to Williamsburg with one suitcase nearly six months ago, and that's all I had.
17:52And now I'm sitting in my own studio, a collection underway for New York Fashion Week.
17:57It's amazing.
17:58Good morning.
17:59Good morning, darling.
18:00How are you?
18:01I'm good.
18:02I'm nervous.
18:03I've got my critique coming up today with Tim.
18:07He's coming to my studio.
18:08So excited to see what you've been working on.
18:10Yeah, it'll be a great surprise.
18:12We have got all our good wishes behind you, darling.
18:16Okay.
18:17Love you.
18:18Tim's home visit, I decided to just take him down to the waterfront.
18:21Sean!
18:22And enjoy a really good view of New York City.
18:26Growing up in New Zealand, what led you to this world?
18:30I wish we could have actually been in New Zealand where I came from, but it's the middle of nowhere.
18:34Like, there's no fashion.
18:35There's no fabric store.
18:36Like, I remember I used to make patterns out of newspaper.
18:39Like, I used to...
18:40I love this.
18:41I didn't know what pattern paper was, so...
18:42Well, I'm eager to see your studio.
18:43Just up the street.
18:44Lead the way.
18:46Watch your step.
18:47This is beautiful.
18:49You know, it's a very nice, calm-feeling environment to work in, which is exactly what I need.
18:56Yes.
18:57So the kind of point that I took from the Roman trip was actually the story of the betrayal
19:02of Caesar.
19:03Oh, my God.
19:04It's totally unexpected.
19:05Yeah.
19:06So the starting point of my collection kind of has to do with being the dictator.
19:10Really bright and light.
19:12That's how I interpret Caesar being at the start.
19:15And then there's a look, which is kind of like the betrayal, which is the black fringe
19:20up into the waist.
19:21Then it starts with this really vibrant orange, which is a representation of, like, Caesar getting
19:27stabbed by everyone who he thought he trusted.
19:30How fascinating.
19:31The effect you've achieved here.
19:34This ombre with the fringe is spectacular.
19:38My biggest fear is that they were like, we've seen this from you.
19:41Nina said on the last challenge that she's seen fringe from me and she doesn't want to
19:45see it again.
19:46That's why I've been really restrained and I've only used it like three times.
19:50I'm going to unshackle you.
19:51Okay.
19:52You're not taking this far enough.
19:53Okay, but I want to express a concern.
19:55Oh.
19:57Do you really have two collections here?
19:59Yeah, there is a definite divide between them.
20:06There's such a strong spirit of innovation with this fringe here.
20:11I look at these other items.
20:13It's too ready to wear.
20:15I was getting excited making the fringe stuff and then I was like, but I have to go back
20:18and do some normal clothes.
20:19And I think that...
20:20Even calling them normal clothes.
20:22Oh, man.
20:23I'm sorry.
20:24Yeah, I know.
20:25This is all said in the spirit of wanting you to win.
20:27Yeah.
20:28I have to either scrap half my collection or I settle for the stuff that I've already made.
20:34Any good designer could give us that.
20:36Yeah.
20:37Only Sean Kelly is going to give me that.
20:40But I'm very, very, very excited.
20:42You just need to hone in on the good stuff.
20:47Yeah.
20:48I have a ton of work ahead of me.
20:50You take care.
20:51Yeah, thanks so much.
20:52I'll get back to work.
20:53I know you will.
20:54I'm definitely a little scared.
21:00Coming up on Project Runway.
21:01The judges have asked to see a preview.
21:04Oh, my God.
21:05You're done with that.
21:06It needs to be out.
21:07This looks very old lady.
21:10We just got to remake it.
21:29Oh, my God.
21:31Are you ready?
21:32Yay.
21:33Holy .
21:34This is an awesome place.
21:36This is beautiful.
21:37I guess it's all for us.
21:39Oh, my gosh.
21:40I'm curious.
21:41They're skinny mini.
21:42Oh, my God.
21:43It's definitely a surreal moment.
21:48It's like, okay, we're really back.
21:51I see what you're doing.
21:56You're doing sabotage.
21:57Here's to New York Fashion Week, guys.
21:59Here's to our hard work.
22:00Yes.
22:01Oh, my God.
22:02Oh, my God.
22:03Oh, my God.
22:04Oh, my God.
22:05Oh, my God.
22:06Oh, my God.
22:07Oh, my God.
22:08Oh, my God.
22:09Oh, my God.
22:10Oh.
22:11Oh, my God.
22:12Oh, my God.
22:13Oh, my goodness.
22:14Oh, my God.
22:15Katie.
22:16I know.
22:17You look so handsome.
22:18Hey, where am I?
22:19I'm right here.
22:20Who's going to pull out their collection first?
22:22Sean, show me that fringe.
22:24I'm missing fringe.
22:25Tim's advice was to really look at the pieces which weren't as strong
22:30and go with your gut feelings, so I scrapped four looks,
22:33and I think that by doing that, it's really strengthened the collection.
22:38Wow.
22:39Tim.
22:41Hi, everybody.
22:42Hi, Tim.
22:43I have profoundly missed you.
22:45I'm so happy to see you back.
22:46How are you all doing?
22:48Good.
22:49Well, do you all have a lot of work to do?
22:51I'm a nice chunk.
22:54Well, let me give you the lay of the land.
22:57Later today, you will have your Mary Kay makeup consultation,
23:00and you will have model fittings.
23:03And I will be back later today to check in with you.
23:06All right.
23:07I'll see you later, everyone.
23:08Bye.
23:11Yeah.
23:11I like it.
23:12I like it.
23:13Shia is a great eye for color and pattern.
23:16If she really honed in on her personal style,
23:18she's definitely a big competition.
23:22Sean, how are you?
23:23Nice to see you.
23:24Good to see you.
23:25Mwah.
23:26I was thinking keeping it really clean and simple.
23:29Why don't we let the skin speak for you?
23:32Yeah.
23:32Look at the silver cream.
23:34Yeah, that's perfect, because I want it to be, like, modern.
23:36And then a little bit on the cheeks.
23:39The console is going really well.
23:41You're already starting to see a little bit of that glow.
23:44Mary Kay really just nailed exactly what I wanted on the first try.
23:48We can give her sort of a wet mouth, and that will bring the whole look together.
23:53Yeah, it's perfect.
23:54So it's kind of 70s.
23:56It's patchwork-y, but I want to, like, take it to the future.
23:59We can use amber blaze in the corners of the eyes and then start building out.
24:04Styling can make or break a collection.
24:07And then we'll add a little bit of a gold eyeshadow on the top.
24:11Yeah, I like that with a really matte face.
24:14I'm constantly thinking about the complete look.
24:16And my makeup, I feel pretty good about.
24:18So this is your palette, right?
24:19Love it.
24:20I really am so bored that I just sewed horse hair to a hem that I really didn't need to.
24:26It just seems too easy right now.
24:28Hello.
24:29How's everyone's day been so far?
24:31Pretty good.
24:32All right, good.
24:33Yeah.
24:33Well, designers, the judges have asked to see a preview of your collections.
24:39Oh, my God.
24:39They would like to see three looks from each of you.
24:43And this will happen in two hours.
24:45The tough part is we've been thinking about this as a full collection.
24:48It's really hard to figure out what little mini story to pull out and show.
24:54This really is a great opportunity.
24:56When this has been done in the past, it's been very beneficial, providing each designer listens.
25:02I am so ready for a preview.
25:04I feel like it's an amazing opportunity.
25:07So your models are coming in soon.
25:09You will have an hour to send them to the Philip B. Hair Studio and the Mary Kay Color Design Studio.
25:15Use the Aldo styling wall very strategically, okay?
25:21How are you all feeling about this?
25:22Nervous?
25:23Yeah.
25:24I mean, it's stressful, I admit.
25:25But the clock starts ticking now.
25:29How are you?
25:32Oh, yep.
25:33Take it in like that.
25:36Like your style is me.
25:38I've had all the money in the world.
25:39I would just like this every day.
25:41See how the skirt is pulling in the front turns.
25:43It all hikes up.
25:45Yeah.
25:45I wouldn't show this today.
25:47When you decide who's actually going to wear this, I would release the side seam.
25:52Okay.
25:52And then we can look at that together.
25:54Okay.
25:54So let's go to makeup.
25:58Welcome back to the Philip B Salon.
26:00I love that super modern, sleeked back look.
26:03So just brush back nice and sleek and clean, and then we'll bring everything back and over down to the side.
26:10I want to do like a wet look with like a sleek back.
26:13We're going to get that wet look, we're going to have to use gel and serum 57.
26:16Excellent.
26:17Thank you so much.
26:21So today's look is going to be like a beachy, summery, dewy look.
26:26A little bit of exotic mango with the poppy love on top.
26:28Sunny, beachy, and gorgeous.
26:30I wanted to do a strong eye and then a muted lip.
26:33A little bit of the coastal blue.
26:35And then the jet eyeliner on top.
26:38Easy.
26:40Designers and models, we're going down to the runway.
26:43Seeing my girls dressed up, they look like fierce bitches.
26:48I think my girl for my final collection is hot.
26:52You guys are fun.
26:54Yes.
26:54Fly.
26:55Yes.
26:56Sassy.
26:56That's the look.
26:57I designed for a fly girl for this collection.
26:59The four of us are so different.
27:02I just have no idea where the judges are going to land.
27:07Okay, come on, let's walk.
27:08We'll work it out.
27:09Okay.
27:10You can walk like that?
27:12Okay.
27:12Is that it?
27:14All right.
27:15The winner of Project Runway will receive $100,000 from Red Robin to launch their business.
27:21And the opportunity to design a fashion accessory for all Red Robin servers.
27:26A shoe and accessory collection from Aldo to help enhance their upcoming runway shows.
27:30A premier home entertainment system courtesy of Samsung.
27:33From Mary Kay, an entire year's worth of beauty products for their fashion shows and professional makeup artist services for their debut show.
27:41A complete sewing and crafting studio from Brothers Sewing and Embroidery.
27:46Travel and hotel accommodations to fashion capitals and inspiring locations around the world from Best Western International.
27:53A 2015 Lexus NXF Sport.
27:55And the winning designer and the winning model will receive a fashion spread in Mary Claire magazine.
28:00It is a price package worth over $300,000.
28:03Hello, designers.
28:12Hi.
28:12Welcome back to New York and to the runway.
28:14As you know, no one is getting eliminated today.
28:18You are here because we would like to get a little preview of your collection.
28:22We also want to have the chance to give you a little feedback before your show at New York Fashion Week.
28:27Each of you has chosen three looks to show us today.
28:30And hopefully you chose good looks to really represent your collection.
28:35We are going to take a look at them, discuss them with you and share our thoughts.
28:40We have learned that this can be helpful to you guys.
28:43Okay, let's say hello to our judges.
28:44First, we have acclaimed fashion designer, Zach Posen.
28:48Hello, designers.
28:49Hi, Zach.
28:50Creative director for Mary Claire magazine, Nina Garcia.
28:54Hi, everyone.
28:55And we also have Tim Gunn here.
28:58As you know, he is your mentor and he will not be critiquing your looks today.
29:02All right, let's start the show.
29:04I think they're a couple of my strongest pieces.
29:15I'm honestly, I'm saving a couple of strong looks.
29:18I'm worried about some of the finishings because they're rushed.
29:21Even if they're a little underwhelmed now, I know I have so much more to show them.
29:32I'm so used to those looks.
29:34I've been looking at them for so long.
29:36I love them.
29:37I just know I don't have enough distance from them to look at them objectively.
29:42I honestly, I need some feedback.
29:44I decided to just go for it and show my finale look because the jewelry on that is killer.
29:56And I want, I want to, I want to show that off.
30:00This collection is the real beginning of my career in fashion.
30:14The collection is sophisticated, it's chic, it's visually stimulating.
30:20There's fringe, of course.
30:21There's like movement.
30:24I'm joking, that matters.
30:25It's so nice.
30:33I am really, really happy at how they've come out.
30:36I think it's a really great sampler of how my collection will be
30:41and really is giving the judges a taste of what's to come.
30:51I think it's all really crisp and clean and it looks luxurious and I'm happy with it.
30:58It's really nice to see the clothes up on a runway moving
31:02and it really gives you a feel of what New York Fashion Week could be like
31:06when you put your collection down.
31:11I think my collection is really flowy, it's colorful, it's kind of neat and sleek, but with an edge.
31:24You want to make sure that you show them pieces that embody the spirit of your collection,
31:30but you don't want to give them too much.
31:32I think my girl, she's just hot.
31:40She's fly, she's fresh, she doesn't like to blend in, she likes to stand out.
31:47I'm so cool.
31:49I feel like they represent who I am as a designer.
32:00As far as the edginess, it shows versatility.
32:04I'm hoping that they can appreciate that I wasn't safe.
32:08I kind of took a risk and stepped outside the box a little bit.
32:11I want to show them what I can do and show them that I'm all about structure,
32:25I'm all about construction.
32:27I wanted to see how detailed things are and pretty much how much work I put into each piece.
32:33They're serving bitchiness, and that's exactly what I want to show.
32:43I know they feel it, and you can tell when they're walking down the runway.
32:47Great job, Kenny.
32:48I love it.
32:55I feel like this is exactly what I wanted to show.
32:58I'm sitting back thinking, yeah, this is exactly what I wanted,
33:02and the judges will read it perfectly, and it's fine.
33:04And I feel like it's so strong, and it stands out amongst the rest.
33:18Designers, we really enjoyed watching the show today.
33:22Tim is going to stay here with us while we talk to each of you about your looks,
33:26so that he can help you out later.
33:28Sean, we're going to talk to you first, so let's bring out your models.
33:32Sean, tell us about your collection.
33:37The collection's built around the idea of the betrayal of Caesar.
33:40This is exciting.
33:42You took something signature like Fringe,
33:45that your name was all over the world on international press,
33:49and made it into a separate with a crisp white shirt.
33:52I like the shaping in the back.
33:54The jumpsuit fits really well.
33:56And then I like that you threw in this soft-draped piece.
33:59I really wouldn't change the styling.
34:01I think this is very good work.
34:04Well, I love the fact that you're working with separates.
34:08I mean, I can see a day-to-evening look here.
34:11I do worry, and we had a conversation prior to this,
34:14is your entire collection fringe?
34:17No.
34:18Oh, great.
34:19How much fringe is there?
34:21Enough.
34:22That's a good answer.
34:24I think that you are a designer
34:27that has proven to have many creative ideas.
34:31Mm-hmm.
34:32So for you to hone in on just one thing would be a pity.
34:37I agree with Nina.
34:38It shouldn't be on every single outfit.
34:40It just becomes, like, a one-trick pony.
34:43It just becomes a handicap that you don't need.
34:46Thank you, Sean.
34:48Thank you, models.
34:48You can leave the runway.
34:50Shakira, please tell us about your three looks
34:52and how they represent your collection.
34:54I just wanted to do pieces that were youthful, fresh,
34:59a spin on an everyday piece,
35:01and just something really sleek and fun.
35:04I wanted to have my collection of Breath of Fresh here.
35:08What else do you have in your show?
35:09A turquoise piece, a pink piece,
35:12a vest that has a really long tail with some pants.
35:15I got a mixture of everything.
35:17I do like what you've brought for us today,
35:19those three looks.
35:20I just don't see how they all tie in.
35:22I see one girl that's going to the beach.
35:25I see another girl that's going to a cocktail party,
35:28and I see a girl at a dinner in the Hamptons, let's say.
35:31I think the middle look needs to go.
35:34I really like the striped jumper.
35:36It's sort of, like, sporty.
35:37Can we unzip it a little bit?
35:39Let her breathe.
35:41They need to be a little looser in a way
35:43so they don't all look like soldiers.
35:45They have to have your attitude a little bit.
35:47Yes, and she has great attitude and great personal style.
35:51I want to see more of that.
35:53If you are going to add a piece,
35:54I think your graphic work is good,
35:57and you work really well in black and white.
36:02Thank you, Shakita.
36:03Thank you, models.
36:04You can leave the runway.
36:05You need to put a little bit of char in the collection.
36:07Hit home.
36:08In my mind, I have a couple of looks
36:10that I need to sport up a little bit.
36:12I'm kind of worried because I don't have a lot of time to change.
36:15Amanda, tell us about your three looks
36:18and how they represent your collection.
36:20I was actually super inspired by Rome.
36:22I was obsessed with all of the detail on the buildings,
36:26and I just loved how there were just these heavy old buildings,
36:32and then you'd see, you know, bright graffiti
36:34or, like, a show poster.
36:36I just loved that contrast.
36:37I have a lot more moments with the blues,
36:39and I have more moments with the taupe and black
36:42in a jumpsuit and a dress and different things.
36:45I also had a lot of fun making a couple different knits,
36:49so that's a custom knit I designed.
36:51Then I also designed jewelry but had it made
36:53and just kind of took advantage of some fun things like that
36:56that I never have time or money to do.
36:58You made this jewelry?
36:59I designed it, and someone else, I don't know how to solder.
37:01Do you have more of it?
37:03Yeah, yeah, I do.
37:04Put more of it on.
37:05Go for it.
37:05Okay, okay.
37:06I think the jewelry is exceptional.
37:08I think the clothing works with it really well.
37:10Own it.
37:11I love that your clothes always have an ease to them.
37:15And by the way, I always want to buy all of them.
37:18I do.
37:18That's awesome.
37:19I see a lot of girls wanting to have these clothes.
37:22They're just really cool.
37:23They're fun.
37:24They're great prints.
37:26But there is more color in the collection, right?
37:28Not a ton, I'll be honest, but there is more.
37:30Get out of the it's long and it's bohemian
37:34and it's peace love.
37:35You're done with that.
37:36It's true.
37:36The middle one, she doesn't need.
37:38She doesn't need it.
37:38No.
37:38It needs to be out.
37:39Yes, you're still going to play with your ethnic.
37:42You know, there's a lot of texture in your clothes.
37:45Keep that.
37:46But I think you're ready to elevate your clothes to another level.
37:51Okay.
37:51Still keeping that ethnic part, but it's a little chiquer.
37:56Mm-hmm.
37:56I think you have a lot that could be extraordinary here.
38:01Thank you, Amanda.
38:01Thank you, models.
38:02You can leave the runway.
38:04Heaney, tell us about your three looks and how they represent your overall collection.
38:08So when I left you guys, I don't know why I had it in my mind that I was this easy designer
38:15that does simple things that you can throw on.
38:19Scratch that, I'm totally not that at all.
38:22And I accepted that and ran with it.
38:24I'm a fussy designer.
38:27I make clothes that are serious.
38:30And why not play off of that?
38:32This collection really showed what I can do, not only with denim, but with structure, technique,
38:39technique, and also playing with different silhouettes.
38:43Keeney, right now, to me, this looks very old lady.
38:48It is with a lady purse.
38:50It is with all the bangles.
38:51I think you have to restyle this thing completely.
38:54You don't need this coat, Keeney.
38:56This coat is a lot.
38:57It's like 96 St. Martin's School of Design.
39:01Hair and makeup has to be redone.
39:03There is so much eyeshadow on those eyelids.
39:06It is too much.
39:07There is no sex appeal going on here.
39:10Well, she's not cool, she's not sexy, and she's not edgy.
39:13See what we're talking about?
39:14Yeah, no, yeah, yeah.
39:15I'm a huge fan of yours, and I want this to be successful for you.
39:19And you can still turn it around.
39:21Yeah, definitely.
39:21But you have to probably work the hardest.
39:23Of anybody up here, you have the ability to remake a lot of a collection.
39:28Sometimes this happens.
39:30I've had it in some fashion weeks where you just gotta clean the slate the few days before and remake it.
39:36And I know that's scary, but sometimes that's when you get the purest expressive message out.
39:43Yeah, totally understand.
39:45This is gonna be a miracle moment.
39:46Yes.
39:47Oh, yeah.
39:47Thank you, models.
39:49You can leave the runway.
39:49Okay.
39:56Okay, guys, you have work to do.
39:57Get out of here.
39:58Good luck.
40:00See you on the runway.
40:02Bye.
40:02And I'll see you in the workroom.
40:03Good luck.
40:04I can actually hear my heart.
40:11Yeah, it's a very intense kind of scrutiny.
40:14I feel like I dodged a bullet, but I know that Keeney is in a dark place right now.
40:20Everything he felt so confident about was just ripped apart.
40:28I feel like you literally have enough pieces in there that you can style that out easy.
40:34I'm trying to put on a happy face and just smile over this, but deep down inside, I'm freaking out.
40:40Oh, my God.
40:42I didn't want to.
40:42To hear the judges just basically bash the whole thing, I'm kind of broken down to zero.
41:02I am really surprised at how harsh and how critical the judges are being at this stage.
41:07With basically 24 hours to Fashion Week to tell someone to completely change their collection, it's kind of insane.
41:15It's like our window is this little, you know, kind of like.
41:20Who the hell is going to make pieces for New York Fashion Week in a day?
41:25I have no time.
41:27I have no fabric.
41:29What the f*** am I supposed to do?
41:34Next time on Project Runway.
41:36He needs to be really upset.
41:38He essentially needs to redesign his whole collection.
41:40It's not going to be Hurricane Keeney.
41:42Sir Keeney, you don't have a lot of time.
41:44I'm not sure if Sha can finish all this.
41:46Jeez.
41:47I can't sew that fast.
41:48Look, look, look.
41:49Nothing can prepare you for something of this magnitude.
41:53I don't know how to not freak out right now.
41:55All of a sudden, I panic.
41:57This is ridiculous.
41:59How did this happen?
42:00Ah!
42:00Designers, one of you will be the winner of Project Runway.
42:08I amesian.
42:11I'm this tiny one.
42:13I can't believe we go for anything to this.
42:15I am seems to be beautiful and visionary who can do this.
42:18I am not a talent.
42:20I am not a talent.
42:21I am not a talent but I am a talent.
42:22The insecurity and cure is not an talent.
42:25I am a talent.
42:25You have to say the job, you are the person to go out.
42:28I am thankful that's not the habitat for photos.
42:30We won't even care too much!
42:33You have to say that no one is our plan.
