03:04but I do need a makeover Jen your makeover is happening from swap no I think Jen has a lot

03:12potential to look like a bombshell like my family I love it I am a little apprehensive allowing someone
03:19else to create a look on you is a little nerve-wracking TG to Nicole TG to Nicole to the

03:26stop all right Nicole your makeover is happening from Ashley she's plus size and I feel like this is
03:36definitely my challenge I would love to be able to design for her and create something that is
03:41catered to her body oh my gosh I'm so excited that I'm paired with Ashley we're gonna be a great

03:46Monique Monique to the work room please hi Monique your makeover is happening from Candace hi I am super
03:56excited I love some of her pieces so excited I am the model wrangler and it's the weirdest feeling not
04:02having my models around I'm still used to telling them where to go and what they need to do and
04:07I
04:07get to walk in their heels which is kind of cool you're gonna consult with our very own Gregory to
04:12give these ladies a fresh new look yes I'll be meeting with each of you individually where we'll
04:19talk everything haircuts and color you have two days for this we are going to mood but before we go
04:28to mood you have 30 minutes to spend with your client crew member to discuss this design and head
04:34off thank you I love dresses I love skirts I love high waisted pants crop tops I'm worried but I'm
04:41hopeful we'll see what she comes back with for a mood would you be okay with something form-fitting
04:46yeah but I think maybe for more form-fitting like on the way on the way all her designs have
04:51been my
04:51favorite I love the dresses she does and I'm just really excited to see what she comes up with I
04:56feel
04:56like this is my challenge I got to show the judges what I can do I'm so practical so I'm
05:01so used to
05:01just wearing my work clothes I am making a minimum of two looks one will be the outer raincoat and
05:08under
05:08it will be a dress or jumper you excited you're not scared you're not afraid I'm afraid my ultimate
05:21vision for this challenge is to create a look for Monique that is extremely flattering to her
05:28silhouette I say why not she sounds like fun girl yeah girl bring it all on so what are you
05:35what are
05:35you looking to get something I could that's nice to wear in front of all these famous people I instantly
05:41think of doing like a dark colored leather overall something more high fashion we'll find the perfect
05:47one can it be like a day to night kind of thing like I could I can jazz it up
05:52I am nervous just
05:54because I'm not entirely sure that Swapnil really understands um what I'm comfortable with
06:06all right designers you and I are going to mood and your client crew members are going back to work
06:12mom I need midnight blue too it's not difficult at all to shop for fabrics without my client because
06:23I know what it's eventually going to look like and the client wouldn't have an idea I know it's going
06:28to be a pencil skirt with a top with an interesting detail at the back so that it really glues
06:33on to
06:33her body but she's comfortable at the same time designers you have five minutes remaining five minutes
06:39everybody I need a pop pop pop pop I know that Monique loves color so I'm getting quite a bit
06:45of fabric I've got a chiffon black I've got a double-sided satin blue it's woven with black
06:50there's a aqua blue a baby blue is there a way to grab that blue all right designers let's head

06:58to the work room designers your hair consultations with Gregory and the Sally beauty studio are
07:14beginning now welcome to the Sally beauty studio my model Katie what are you willing to do I've kind
07:21of always toyed with the idea of just a shave really when you have a cool haircut you want some
07:28really cool color to compliment it adding some colors some fresh pops of blonde your hair is just flat
07:34and doing nothing I would really recommend taking at least four inches off if we build some beautiful
07:41layering into this you'll have a really nice shape you have such beautiful texture I think your
07:49transformation would be most impactful in color here's our ion color brilliance collection these
07:54tones really work beautifully with your natural skin coloring with your hair coloring I say we'd really
08:01brighten up your blonde take out this gold take out this brassiness get it off get it off we're done
08:06we're over it okay are you open to color yeah definitely Clippins might be perfect for you
08:20taking the length up would be genius getting into these beautiful almost red violets you can punch it up

09:26transformation first thing she said is she loves her overalls and she just wants something a little
09:31more professional for work so I was thinking of sort of doing like a more professional version of a coverall

09:44likes diaper but nobody does so I'm definitely gonna fit it really good she has a nice body and there's

11:28been a designer who came out and said I want to design for the everyday woman so that's what I
11:33think is interesting about Ashley Nicole told me that she wanted something that was form-fitting the
11:37top and that flew out and she wanted to cover her arms a little bit so I kind of pushed
11:42her into
11:43covering the arms and you know bare shoulders what are your thoughts um I'm interested to see what it
11:49looks like on yeah I know I really wanted sleeves so you try it on yeah let's do it how
11:57do you feel
11:57about this neckline I'm not in love with the neckline at all I really wanted slaves yeah how do you

12:04about the silhouette I expect it from you so I'm not surprised all right I'm gonna let the two of

12:43not so much think about the initial request of the client you must think about here's what I don't
12:49understand why can't you do both why can't it be runway and Desiree well I mean if I were Desiree

13:06wanted to do something which is basically like a rapture but make it slightly more modern and sexy
13:12which is why I use letter the idea was of course to make your neck look longer which is why

13:27I'm not loving it that's for sure I'll just say this it's so fundamental what have you been doing
13:37for a full day plus three hours you've had hours I know and I've just hours and is it in

17:19she particularly hates the skirt you had an idea for like bombshell this whole time so I think like
17:25you had an image already in your head and you weren't necessarily listening to my aesthetic of like how I
17:32dress there I am back to square one she hates everything I'm super excited about this runway show
17:50because we're not just making over someone on the street we're making over the crew so obviously I
17:54want to please them and if she's really happy that means I'm happy morning good morning everyone hi you
18:00will have an hour to send your models to the Mary Kay color design studio and Sally beauty studio for
18:07final styling awesome what do I need to say about the just fab accessories wall very carefully thank you
18:23beautiful and glowing like the hair like that turn for me I could wear the skirt I guess and dress
18:31it up yeah I'm gonna keep pulling it to the back sorry I'd feel really bad if we ended up
18:36at the bottom um but it could happen the back looks really cute
18:41yeah I love it job done check it off and let's do this runway show
18:52welcome to the Sally beauty studio you'll make it work and we'll make this beautiful yeah I tried to go
18:58when we get it all put together yeah I think this transformation you're gonna be like you're ready for this

19:06we cut we cut we colored we got her looking super delicious
19:11oh that's high right there that's you a whole little person with the hair down we're gonna hook this hair

19:16yes like that food Desiree this is sexy love so we got the hairstyle yeah we know what we're doing
19:25the goal is to cover up this little moment here
19:28so it creates some like tassel large loose curls
19:41I feel like we should play up the eyes and do like a light nude lip so that will be
19:45the shades on her eye okay
19:46I've gold and we'll do a little bit of liner and of course lots of lashes beach bronze that's you

19:53we can use these shades which are all in the gray family her eyes are gonna be like pow in
19:59one second
20:00we could start with something like this this is called ice cocoa you know how a copper can go with
20:07anything I wanted to look strong but at the same time floaty we'll do a beautiful cat eye and then
20:13sort
20:13of a stained mouth it's not too much but then once you see the skin and the lashes and everything
20:18that's
20:19gonna be perfect wow cool designers in 10 minutes you and your client models and I are going down to
20:28the runway is everyone going to be ready yeah all right thank you
20:39what's like it's like hanging out so are you okay if I just drop the arm off I mean no
20:44but what else you
20:46gonna do so Jen thinks that the length of the sleeve is wrong it's just this was the only thing
20:53that I had
20:58the one thing that I asked him to do which was covering my arms he couldn't deliver that he gave
21:03me wings in the back so now I can be an older Sally Field in a modern-day flying nun

21:41thank you Katie hello everybody welcome to the runway as you know in fashion one day you're in and the
22:00next day you're out there's six of you here and after tonight there will be five for this challenge
22:08each of you were to design a look for one of the project run my crew members this was the
22:13Sally beauty
22:14challenge you know we work with these crew members for many many seasons and we're very excited to see
22:20them walk the runway today all right let's say hello to our judges first we have creative director of
22:31mericlaire magazine Nina Garcia hi everyone and our guest judges for today the stars of lifetimes
22:39returning hit show unreal the fashionable shiri Applebee and constant Zimmer also we have Tim Gunn here for the
22:49runway show and as you know he's your mentor and will not be judging your looks that said he will
22:54have
22:54the Tim Gunn save we also have an anonymous runway show which means we the judges do not know which
22:59designer created which look all right let's start the show I feel like I definitely listen to Ashley and I
23:17also kept me in there by doing a funky leather overall I feel like I hit all the marks on
23:22this challenge
23:22and I'm hoping the judges see that as well this was not the look that I would have created in
23:41my
23:41signature collection I'm working for a client and a customer and I have to incorporate what they want
23:47and feel versus having the free range to do whatever I want I am not proud of the look I
24:04think this look
24:05could have represented me as a designer had I stuck on to the original fabric and the original design details
24:25she looks really sexy really strong confident and she looks like she's having a bit of fun with it
24:33at the same time there's a bit of fit issues I can see the back is puckering a bit when
24:39she walks back
24:51the thing that I'm most concerned about this look is making her look older and not complimenting her
24:57body shape she wanted something that was flowing on the bottom but I just felt like it really lost her
25:02height I almost feel like she's not comfortable and what she's wearing
25:16every time there's a runway it's like a first date we have the butterflies in your stomach but I'm super
25:21excited to see Katie's like rocking it she does this whole like hair flip I just wish I would have
25:27made
25:27the jacket shorter see look she shaved her hair that's why she's designers one of you will be named
25:44the winner of this challenge and one of you will be out designers one of you will be named the

26:08before we get started I want to thank all of our crew members for rocking the runway so great they
26:15were working that yep Kelly tell us about the look that you made for Ashley and what she wanted so

26:23me and Ashley's first consultation she expressed to me how she loves her overalls so I really wanted
26:28to like kind of jazz up her overall thing and she wanted something she could also go out and get
26:33drinks
26:34in as well Ashley what do you think about your look I really do love it I wanted something that
26:39would be
26:39a little bit more fashion forward sophisticated since I'm with you lovely people all day and this is
26:45what we came up with she came up with hallelujah Kelly oh thank you I am used to seeing very
26:54over
26:54the top embellished she go crazy on the details you have plenty of ideas and that's wonderful but when
27:02you can really edit them down you get this your makeover is fantastic thank you I love you more blondes

27:10love your haircuts it's really good and I have to say the clothes too it really suits you well you
27:16look modern you look sophisticated this was actually one of my favorites on the runway today I like the
27:22gold detailing with the eggplant it popped I actually like the outfit better without the vest that's a
27:28little sexier to me now Candace tell us about the look you created for Monique well when I met Monique
27:34she let me know that she loved blue so I wanted to do pops of color for her we wanted
27:40to have fun and
27:41it's gonna be sexy Monique what do you think about your new look I like it so far something different
27:47on me definitely but I enjoy it I do love your hair and makeup the clothes on the other hand
27:53I'm not so
27:53sure about it looks a little cheap yeah well also with the sweetheart neckline it's a little bit you
28:00know red light district you do are to be nice you should not go out dancing like that the thing

28:21of hers was creating a sexy raincoat and then we begin to build under it Desiree how do you feel
28:28I feel great
28:29I feel different and I feel sexy I do love your hair and makeup I do not love this look
28:37I have to
28:38say to me it looks like the jacket is borrowed from someone else like the jacket and the dress to
28:43me they
28:44clash there's like too many elements like too many ideas in this outfit I'm not really sure what it's
28:50supposed to be I just felt like it needed some editing the problem with this outfit is that it's not
28:56effortless it looks like you're trying so hard to accommodate her aesthetic but the marriage of
29:03the dress and the coat does it work Marlene tell us about the look that you created for Katie Katie
29:11has
29:11like a rock and roll like so you know I started with the jacket and then I gave her like
29:17a sexy leather
29:18skirt so she can go out you know she's a rock star Katie what do you think about your new
29:24look I really
29:25like it and I think it fits with my hair choices and all of that so I love the hair
29:31I think that was so
29:33bold amazing looking at Katie before and after it is a huge transformation so all in all I think this
29:44was
29:44stellar the best was actually the best thing I thought that walked down the runway it felt like
29:50the most high-end and the most fashion-forward I'm not crazy about the skirt I feel like it's pulling
29:56and
29:56the fabric choice is not as sophisticated as it could probably be okay swap now tell us about the
30:02look that you created for Jen well this is what I made in the last two hours yesterday night the
30:08overlap cape top and the skirt obviously is neoprene which has been draped but I think what went wrong
30:14was I think I didn't hear her right because she wanted more playful and flirty and I was going for
30:21let's do a makeover let's make her hot you said let's make her hot yeah and then you created that
30:27Jen are you happy with your makeover are you happy with your new look I'm happy with my hair but
30:33I do
30:33not feel confident in this outfit we had a couple fittings and we weren't able to really discuss a lot
30:40why not because I had nothing ready for fittings see what's been happening swap now the time always
30:46keeps running away I know well I've noticed that with every design you have an item of drama be it
30:54a cape or it's a drape it's all surface it's all for you and it's not for her at this
31:03point from what
31:04I have seen of your work it's like a one trick pony this judge is getting very bored cape and
31:09ruffles
31:10looks like you gave up quite honestly if this is really your passion in life this is your opportunity
31:16your own project runway I mean it just doesn't get any better than this Ashley tell us about the
31:25look that you made for Nicole well first of all I loved working with Nicole and she expressed to
31:30me that she wanted me to create something that she could wear to a wedding but also wear to special
31:36events so that's why I wanted to create something that was foreign fitting that had a sweetheart
31:40neckline complimenting the shape of her face and then also a pencil skirt with a peblum Nicole how
31:47do you feel about your look I asked for sleeves I asked for pockets so I was really excited to
31:52get
31:52that I wasn't so excited about the colors at first but I've grown to like them Ashley to me this
31:59was not
32:00the best proportion for your model today okay the fit on the top is not as hot a body as
32:07she has and I find
32:09that very unfortunate coming from you where this is your specialty yes I'm very disappointed this was
32:15your moment to knock our socks off you know with the peplum so many designers think that is hiding
32:23something but instead it's drawing focus okay at your insecurities and to me it just felt uncomfortable I
32:31agree personally I don't like to wear things that cut me too many times because it makes me feel even
32:36shorter it wasn't a wow for me thank you okay we've heard what you had to say we're going to
32:43take a
32:43closer look at your designs and then I'm bringing you back in a little bit you can leave the runway

33:38impressed with Kelly this week around it's great she's really listening for once she did not put
33:44everything in the kitchen sink into her design it is pared down and it's completely functional as a
33:49designer you work with every different body type and here's a great example if you're thrilled with
33:54your outfit and you look spectacular yeah we have Nicole wearing Ashley hi Nicole hi you made your hair a
34:03little bit more red too right it's great love your hair and the odd fit today we were not so
34:08happy with it's too
34:09many layers right it's the choppiness she choked we have Desiree wearing Edmund did he weave all this yes no
34:21wow take off the track that takes hours just to do that you also don't need this
34:27yeah it's just tacked on that has to go just doesn't go together we have Katie wearing Merlin the transformation
34:39for me was extraordinary and it looks very expensive up here it's one of the ones that
34:46looks yes more locks yeah facing or no facing tacked in right fashion I almost
34:52wanted it more like a vest or a little bit longer we have Jen wearing swap no Zach have
35:01a peek oh my gosh oh my word oh wow tied in a knot it's just tied in a knot
35:07that's terrible and
35:10is that it is just tied in a knot so did she tighter in the arms yeah yes just not
35:17with care
35:17it's exactly and if it's not with care then I don't care if you don't care as a designer I
35:21don't want to
35:22wear it no and we have Monique wearing Candace oh my gosh literally she's wearing Candace it looks so
35:32cheap yeah it is crazy yeah it's traditionally constructed it's not well it doesn't look like it
35:39it's not good just the taste level is questionable to me it looked like Candace really tried maybe she
35:45tried in the wrong direction but at least that to me felt like a voice a vision and a lot
35:51of work
