00:00Hello, good morning. It's a bit of a chilly start for some of us, but there will be a bit
00:04of sunshine out there today,
00:06turning a bit wetter on Sunday once again.
00:09Still got some wet weather to clear the south and east, however, through this morning.
00:12It's a area of low pressure that pestered us through yesterday, still clearing the south and east.
00:16Behind it, though, a ridge of high pressure building in.
00:20That's brought some sunny skies to parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland this morning.
00:24It's quite chilly out there, though, likely to see that frost melt away relatively quickly once the sun comes up.
00:30And there will be plenty of dry weather to come for parts of Wales, some parts of Northern England, down
00:34into the southwest as well.
00:36And across the east, it will dry up into the afternoon.
00:39I think sunshine is going to be a bit more limited across more parts of Northeastern England, Southeastern Scotland, for
00:45example.
00:46But for most of us, a much drier day than yesterday.
00:49Temperatures will be a little bit disappointing if you are expecting some warm spring sunshine.
00:54It's not quite here yet.
00:56Just 9 or 10 degrees in the south, 7 or 8 degrees further north.
01:01Now, as I mentioned, the wet weather is returning into Sunday.
01:04We get an initial band of rain, not too heavy across more western areas through Saturday evening.
01:09And then the main batch of rain arrives through the early hours of Sunday from the south and west.
01:15Now, ahead of that, a lot of cloud around for many eastern areas, but the bulk of the rain won't
01:19push in until a little later on in the day.
01:22So, slightly cooler ahead of that, but it's going to be a pretty mild start to the day.
01:26And once these southerly winds get going, those temperatures will rise.
01:30A much milder feel into Sunday compared to Saturday.
01:33But a very damp and breezy day.
01:36I think the rain is going to be most persistent across western areas, in particular the north and west.
01:41Northern Ireland, western Scotland, as we see a pulse of rain return into the afternoon for these areas.
01:47Elsewhere, it does become somewhat drier, though.
01:49It will remain cloudier into the afternoon.
01:51But I think the rain is going to become more restricted just to high ground and coastal areas and will
01:55be relatively light into the afternoon.
01:57So, it does improve a little bit, but it will remain quite windy.
02:01Southerly winds, though, so temperatures above average, 11 or 12 degrees, 13, 14 for some of us.
02:07So, close to those mid-teens, as we are starting meteorological spring on Sunday.
02:12However, the unsettled weather does continue into Monday.
02:16It's not until Tuesday we see the return of some spring sunshine.
