00:00Good morning, the final day of the heat in the south and east today before cooler weather arrives across the
00:07country into Sunday.
00:08In the northwest though, there's a weather front already bringing that cooler weather as well as some rainfall throughout today.
00:13That pushes eastwards throughout Sunday to bring most of us quite a fresh start to meteorological summer as well as
00:21some wetter and windier weather.
00:23But before then, we've still got high pressure dominating across much of England and Wales, so that means there'll be
00:28plenty of warm sunshine across these areas.
00:32Strong UV levels as well as high pollen levels too.
00:36Rain though covers much of Northern Ireland and Western Scotland.
00:40It could turn quite heavy through the latter part of this afternoon and into this evening as it pushes further
00:45south into areas of Northern England.
00:48The sunshine will turn hazier as well by the end of the day across more southwestern areas of the UK
00:53too.
00:54But before then, it's going to be a pretty warm afternoon for parts of England and Wales.
00:58Highs of 29 degrees in the south and east, but quite widely in the mid-20s.
01:02Above average for the time of year still for much of England and Wales.
01:06We're slightly below average as we look further north and west.
01:08You can see those temperatures dropping away once that cold front pushes through in the northwest.
01:13And I think all of us will notice that fresher feel by the end of Sunday.
01:18Now, this weather front pushes eastwards overnight tonight.
01:20Here's those heavier bursts of rain pushing into parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland.
01:25I think many eastern areas will escape much of the rain for the time being, however.
01:30We'll also see some showery rain pushing into Wales.
01:32Southwestern England also seeing the odd shower, but nothing quite as heavy as further north.
01:37So a fresher night for much of the country.
01:40Temperatures, though, still in the south-east, still holding up in the higher teens.
01:44So it's still going to be a little bit uncomfortable for these areas.
01:47Elsewhere, though, it should be more pleasant overnight.
01:50So a bit of a wet start to the day across more north and western areas.
01:54More in the way of cloud to come through much of the day.
01:57The south and east still seeing a pretty fine start to the day,
02:00though it will be cloudier through the afternoon.
02:02Now, I notice showery rain pushing in from the west.
02:05None of it looks particularly heavy, but I think many of us could see the odd shower.
02:09And you will notice more cloud and the fresher feel as we've got fresher Atlantic air that's pushed in.
02:15So temperatures just climbing to the low 20s in the south-east, the high teens as we look further north
02:21and west.
02:22So much closer to average.
02:24These are more like typical May temperatures for the final day of May,
02:29as Monday, of course, is the first day of meteorological summer.
02:33But that transition to wetter and windier weather does continue through the first week of June.
02:39So you can find out all the details on that on our YouTube channel.

02:43Have a brilliant weekend.
02:45Bye-bye.
