00:00Good morning. A chance of some further heavy downpours across the UK today. It's not going
00:05to be wet for everyone, but there is a good chance that parts of northeastern England
00:09could be in for a bit of a wet start this morning. That's where we're closer to this
00:13area of low pressure. Parts of northeastern Scotland also seeing some quite wet weather.
00:17Then that rain will extend further south and west into this afternoon across parts of Wales,
00:22south-western England, and in through the Midlands where we saw some intense downpours
00:26through yesterday. Now this picture is not going to be exactly what the rainfall will look like by
00:31this afternoon, but it gives us a good guide of where we're expecting the heaviest showers. The
00:36best thing to do is keep up to date with our app and radar. If you've not already seen that,
00:40then
00:40take a look if you are in these areas. Now it's not going to be wet for everyone. Parts of
00:45north-western,
00:46parts of the UK, northern Ireland or north-western Scotland will likely be relatively dry through
00:51much of the day. Some sunshine too across northern Ireland, and the south-east will likely escape
00:55much of the heaviest rain. Now there is a chance of some heavy downpours, but it's not going to be
00:59reliable rain across the whole area. And it will still feel quite warm across the south-east,
01:05temperatures coming to around 25 or 26 degrees. A little bit fresher though further north and west,
01:11where we're starting to get some fresher air in. And that will stay with us as we head into the
01:15bank holiday weekend. So not quite as humid for many of us into the weekend. And there will be a
01:21bit
01:21of respite from all this heavy rain into this evening, particularly for more northern and eastern
01:26areas as we're between low pressure systems. So the skies will turn a little bit clearer. We could
01:31see some mist and murk developing. A little bit of light rain across the far north and east of Scotland.
01:36But for most of us, it's going to be a dry night. And it will be a cooler night as
01:41well if you've not
01:42been enjoying the warm, humid nights we've felt through the past few nights. It is going to be wet though
01:47across the south and west to start the day on Saturday. And that rain will likely push north
01:52and eastwards through the day, bringing a spell of some wet weather to parts of England and Wales
01:56through the morning before it clears into the afternoon. It will ever so slowly push further
02:01north and eastwards into Northern Ireland, much of Scotland by the end of the day. So it will cloud
02:07over across more northern areas, turn a bit wetter. And it's not going to become completely dry across
02:12more southern areas of the UK. The winds will increase across southern coasts in particular.
02:17And there is a chance of some quite intense, possibly thundery downpours as well.
02:23It's going to be a little bit cooler though this weekend. Temperature is much closer to average,
02:2720 to 21 degrees in the south. High teens as we head further north. But it's across the south.
02:32We'll see some quite strong winds into the afternoon. Gusts around 35 miles per hour across
02:38the south coast. We see the next batch of low pressure pushing for Sunday. So a little bit of
02:44drier start across eastern areas through Sunday. But then it's Monday. We could see some quite windy
02:49weather across the northwest. So it's worth keeping up to date on that. And you can do that
