00:00Good morning, the final day of the very hot weather for eastern areas through today.
00:05A fresher day though already across the west to come.
00:08But that does bring more in the way of rain for parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland.
00:11That's thanks to these areas of low pressure and these weather fronts.
00:14It's not until Sunday that we see that fresher air push more bodily across the UK
00:18to bring those fresher conditions to all areas.
00:21And the nights won't start to feel more comfortable really until Monday morning
00:26as we've still got that very hot air.
00:27Here's that amber extreme heat warning still in force across the southeast.
00:31A risk of some showery rain out there this morning across eastern areas.
00:34But then once that clears, it's going to be another very hot and sunny day.
00:37Although it's not quite as hot as it has been this week, we are expecting further impacts from the heat.
00:43Outbreaks of rain continue to affect parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland.
00:46We're not expecting as much thunder and lightning in this rain as we did see yesterday.
00:51We're still expecting some quite gusty winds.
00:53Dry for many western areas, we could see some showery outbreaks of rain return to the southeast through this evening.
00:59So a few things going on.
01:01Still very hot in the south and east.
01:03For most of us, though, temperatures will be in the mid-20s.
01:06The high teens across the west coast.
01:08And as we head closer to more central areas of England, we're approaching the higher 20s.
01:13So still a pretty warm day for the time of year.
01:16And as I said, we're still expecting some impacts from the heat to continue because it's been such a long
01:21spell of very hot weather.
01:23And outbreaks of rain, thundery downpours possible across the southeast overnight tonight.
01:28Elsewhere, a band of rain pushes eastwards to bring cloudier skies to many northern and western areas by Sunday morning.
01:35Not particularly heavy rain, but I think quite a lot more cloud and some brisker winds as well as the
01:40fresher air.
01:40So it will turn much fresher from the west by Sunday morning.
01:44Much fresher start to the day.
01:46It will feel far less humid as well once this weather front pushes through.
01:49But still a very warm and uncomfortable night to come for eastern areas through tonight.
01:53Temperatures still holding up above 20 degrees for some areas of the southeast.
01:57So the heat's not quite over yet, but we are getting there.
02:02That weather front does push eastwards through the day on Sunday.
02:05Not too much in the way of rain on that weather front by the time it pushes into more central
02:09and eastern areas.
02:09It's just a bit more in the way of cloud.
02:11And then you will notice that difference to the fresher, less humid air.
02:15Plenty of sunshine still across many areas through Sunday afternoon.
02:19A risk of an odd shower across the northwest.
02:21But it looks like a drier day in comparison to Saturday for these areas.
02:25But notice some quite strong winds across the far northwest.
02:28That's because we're closer to an area of low pressure in these areas.
02:32So we'll feel fresher temperatures in the mid to high teens across the northwest and across the southeast in the
02:37mid-20s,
02:38which is a good nearly 10 degrees cooler than the temperatures we will have seen on Saturday for these areas.
02:44You can see the temperature difference here between Saturday and Sunday.
02:48Wherever you are in the UK, it's going to be a cooler day.
02:50And we've already got that cooler air on Saturday across the far northwest.
02:54It's not going to be quite as big a difference.
02:55But you can see across the far southeast, even some parts of Wales, northern England,
03:00seeing close to seven or eight degrees difference day on day.
03:04So a big difference.
03:05Hopefully a relief for many of us.
03:08And temperatures will remain much closer to average through much of next week with further rain in the northwest.
03:14But make sure you keep up to date all through this weekend on our YouTube channel.
03:17We'll be keeping you up to date.
03:19Have a good one.
03:20Bye-bye.
