00:00Hello, good evening. It's turning increasingly humid throughout the next few days and we do have
00:05thunderstorm warnings in force for Wednesday and Thursday for much of England and Wales.
00:10We could see some heavy downpours through this evening across parts of southwestern England,
00:14southwest Wales and moving into parts of Northern Ireland as well. Some showers are likely as well
00:20to start to develop in central and eastern areas of England through the early hours of Wednesday.
00:25Further north though, we're in for a dry night tonight. Easterly winds though will bring a
00:29fresher feel to more northern eastern areas to start the day. To the south, it will feel quite
00:34humid, quite warm already by the start of Wednesday morning. That warning's enforced through much of
00:39Wednesday across much of England and Wales. We could see up to 40 millimetres of rain falling over a short
00:45period of time of a few hours and that brings the risk of surface water flooding as well as lightning
00:50and some hail as well. It will turn a little bit brighter into the afternoon but then there's the
00:55increased risk of some showers later on in the day. But away from any of those showers, it's still
00:59going to be quite bright and very warm actually as well as humid. Temperatures quite widely in the
01:04mid-20s, 27 or 28 degrees, the highest expected in more southeastern areas of England. But up even to
01:12the north and west of Scotland, temperatures will be climbing towards the mid-20s. So a widely pretty
01:16warm day. That's away from the very far east coast. We've still got this onshore wind. Those showers are likely
01:23pushed further north into Scotland, northern England. They will tend to fade away though into the
01:27evening. So there's a bit of respite from the rain through Thursday morning. But then the next batch
01:33pushes up by the early hours. So to start the day, much of the southern areas of England, South Wales
01:38could be in for a chance of some heavy downpours. But further north, slightly to be quite a bright and
01:45dry start to the day. A bit of light rain possible once again across the very far north and east
01:50coast.
01:50But wherever you are, it's going to be a humid night on Wednesday night. Temperatures holding up above 20 degrees
01:56for some areas, possibly in the south and east, but widely in the high teens. And with the humidity, it
02:01will feel
02:01quite close. Now, the thunderstorm risk continues through Thursday. In fact, we could see some even heavier
02:07downpours on Thursday compared to Wednesday. Some gusty winds as well associated with this band of intense
02:14rainfall that will sweep northwards into more northern areas of Wales and northern England by the
02:19end of the day. Similar story to Wednesday. It brightens up into the afternoon. There's still a chance of a
02:25heavy
02:25downpour though into the afternoon. Again, we could see some lightning and hail in there as well.
02:31Showers will affect parts of northeastern Scotland through Thursday afternoon. It's northwest in Scotland,
02:36Northern Ireland once again faring the driest through Thursday. And here, it's going to feel quite pleasant.
02:41Temperatures 20 to 22 degrees. Further south, another humid and warm day with temperatures quite widely
02:47in the mid approaching the higher 20s. Now, the temperatures will tend to ease off a little bit as we
02:53head towards the bank holiday, but further areas of low pressure are set to bring some windy and wet
