00:12Given the fact that I've seen the second one. I'm gonna be viewing both of them in the same video. Okay, I'll start with the first one
00:21The first phenomenon that came out three years ago. I know crazy time flies, huh?
00:28It was very much anticipated, you know, getting the fact that they look like it looked like it was
00:35Going to be more in line with the Venom to remember from the comics and the cartoons
00:41Right as opposed to that Sam Raimi's Venom
00:44And to the extent there was
00:47Can you see how big and crazy Venom actually looked? I wanna start off with the
00:53premise, right, it's
00:55This is basically an original story, right, you guys have found out about the Sam Raimioth
01:02What's been going on and
01:06They've sort of like really glossed over a lot of stuff, right, you know on but they do cover the main points, right?
01:12That's the one thing about
01:14Venom like that
01:16I would say was
01:18Still makes it work, right? They cut off all the files and they get to the main stuff. The problem with it though is that
01:23There's so much that was left out
01:28that
01:29You can see
01:31It in the movie in the final part that they were where there was going to be extra scenes
01:37whatever or extra, you know
01:41Story beats that was removed
01:43And if you look on Google
01:45Venom says that it's 2 hours and 20 minutes
01:47The final movie isn't anywhere even close to that one time
01:52It's like about an hour and a half barely, right, and
01:57You know, I would give credit with credit too
02:02It's paced very well, you know, being a short movie like that
02:05Um, it's not boring, you know, the comedy is very
02:12It's hit on me sometimes, right, there's a bit more comedy than I expected
02:16I will say that, but it wasn't like it was
02:20So bad that, you know, that it sort of like annoyed me too much
02:24I just find that it was a bit more than I expected, but it was still
02:28Pretty okay with the comedy
02:33Now when it comes to the acting
02:35You know, you have the main guy Eddie Brock played by Tom Hardy
02:40You know, he's okay as Eddie Brock
02:44Um, I just wish I could have showed more of him
02:48You know, him interacting with Venom
02:50And how the characters was developing and all the other stuff
02:53You can tell by watching this movie
02:57That there was a lot of that that was being missing
03:00You know, you also have his girlfriend
03:05Well, I suppose girlfriend
03:07Played by Mitchell Williams
03:10She's okay, I'm nothing to stand out anything in essence
03:16Um, you know, she's mainly there to push the story ahead
03:21To be honest, like a character doesn't really serve much of a purpose beyond that
03:24When I'm looking at it, it's like this like plot progression, you know
03:29She doesn't really have much character to her
03:32Like as opposed to like say, Mary Jane in the Spider-Man
03:36You know, like that's actual character beat stuff
03:39Then you have the guy played by Riz Ahmed
03:43You know, he's just the villain of the movie in a sense
03:47And the one who sort of like owns the symbiote
03:49Because he has this whole lab experiment stuff going on
03:54He's the one who becomes riot towards the end of the movie
03:58Where he had a big showdown
04:00Where this is probably where it sort of like gets really murky
04:04In a sense, because the way how it looks and how the fight plays out
04:08It wasn't really all that much to be honest
04:11I think they really
04:13His character didn't really get the shake
04:15It could have gotten
04:17You know, you just had him there just to, you know
04:20Whatever, you know, it wasn't really much of a villain in a sense
04:23It was just more like a
04:25It's another piece of progressive plot in a sense
04:29There's several characters to have
04:31The old lady in the shop
04:33She's sort of like a friend to Eddie Brock in a sense
04:38Like Clintons, you know, the casual stuff
04:42On to the meat of the movie
04:45The action, the music, the graphics, visuals, all my other stuff
04:49The directing
04:51It was pretty mad to be honest
04:54Like the way Venom looks is very well done
04:58Like the CGI and stuff
04:59It's very well done given the production value that they have
05:01It's not a big budget movie
05:03But
05:06Most of the scenes take place in the night
05:08And the way how it's shot
05:12The CGI and all that stuff
05:13The fight scenes look pretty mad
05:16Because of it looked
05:19Not because of the CGI itself
05:20But because you know like
05:22Cinematography and all that other stuff
05:26They could have done that by there
05:27With that
05:29The directing was
05:31Mid
05:31Like there was nothing standard with the directing
05:33I would say like on average
05:35The way it felt
05:36The music was
05:38And the music was
05:40Okay
05:41A little bit above average
05:43Nothing to take home about
05:45So yeah
05:45And I guess
05:48Thumbs up
05:49The technical stuff
05:50The main thing here
05:51Comes to the first one
05:53The movie
05:54Is that
05:55It was so much focus
05:57Around
05:59Just cutting through
06:00Into the main plot
06:01And just getting things moving
06:04So much was cut out of the movie
06:07Like I don't even know exactly how much
06:09Like about 40 something minutes
06:10From what I've read
06:11And you can tell by looking at the movie right
06:13You know it's so chopped up
06:15It's so messy in the pacing
06:18And the editing
06:20And it's not
06:21It's slow paced
06:22Because it's fast paced
06:23It's very short
06:26It's 90 some minutes
06:28You know because it's a short movie
06:30And like
06:31They just make it focus on
06:32The main thing
06:34Him becoming Venom
06:35And him going to fight riot
06:36There isn't really anything much there
06:39Beyond that
06:41All right
06:41So overall
06:42I have to say
06:44That I'm
06:44I'd give this movie
06:46I'd give it a 5.5

06:49To be honest
06:50It's
06:51It's a poor movie

06:54It would have gotten lower
