00:00Hey guys welcome back to Interpices once again this is your host AndyGamer and today is with you

00:05I'm really fucking pissed off man

00:09I mean I just got done watching Black Adam on digital

00:13And I was thinking of processing the movie for my thoughts for review

00:18And I got this stupid bullshit that just got put out

00:25And like oh shit I have to do a video talking about that

00:30But that's a whole other video right

00:32Right now I'm going to just focus on this movie my thoughts on this movie

00:36Because this really true this is a movie that has been in the works for probably longer than Avatar 2

00:42If you're being honest okay

00:43The Rock has been attached to this like since 2007-8ish when he was like rumored to be in talks with Black Adam

00:51And it's finally out

00:53I hate to break it but I'm actually agreeing with the critics on this one

00:58Okay not 100% of them but I'm more leaning towards the critics here

01:03This movie it was really underwhelming

01:08And it's crazy because I'm watching the movie here right

01:12And through the movie I can see the bits and pieces here that needed to make this movie great

01:17It has it but at the same time it also has a bunch of rubbish

01:23Okay let me explain

01:24So essentially the movie it takes place during the past and the present

01:30It starts off in the opening scene

01:32You have like the past with Black Adam you know Ted Adams right

01:35That's his real name

01:37It's essentially like a sort of origin story right

01:42You know of what happened with the people of Kandak

01:45And his son and all that other stuff right

01:48And it's told through the lens of the young kid

01:52Before they move into the current day

01:56Where they have like this next kid

01:59With these other people

02:00In Kandak right

02:02These like locals

02:03And they have this whole like

02:05War-ish like you know conflict going on between them

02:09And inter-gang

02:10Right

02:11And by the way this is all like groups and things from the comics

02:14They didn't pull anything out of tin here right

02:16It's from the comics

02:18So yeah but in the plot these guys they want to get the crown and they have this whole like

02:29Back and forth going on and eventually they end up releasing Black Adam from this tomb

02:36It's prison right

02:38And the people start to get this whole impression of Black Adam as like some sort of hero

02:44Why because he's out there he's beating up inter-gang

02:48You know and they have this sort of terminator approach

02:52You know where Black Adam is like

02:56He he's like robotic in his personality

03:00And it works half of the time

03:05The other half of the time it it doesn't really play off because

03:09Of the jokes that they use

03:13But he's doing all this stuff in Kandak

03:15Helping people and whatnot

03:17And they view him as a sort of like savior

03:20And this is when the justice society comes in to you know

03:23Stop him and put him out

03:24And this is where you have the whole conflict with him fighting the justice society

03:28And this is probably the highlight of the movie for me

03:31When you have to fight the justice society

03:33Even though Hawkman got

03:35But they really did him dirty in the movie

03:38You know it was actually pretty fun to watch

03:41Like from here the movie actually started getting a lot better

03:45And this was about I would say about like 40 minutes 50 minutes into the movie or so

03:50Which is kind of underwhelming I know but from here it got a lot better as it got more to the action

04:00And it was like this whole stuff with the justice society working with Amanda Waller

04:06And she didn't want Black Adam to go crazy and do this whole stuff

04:10They eventually get him to agree to step down

04:13And then you have the third act where the big

04:16Red guy comes in

04:18Sabacc

04:20And they have to stop him and they bring Black Adam back out

04:23Because now they couldn't even stop Sabacc

04:27And that's essentially the plot and I know I really described it very poorly here

04:35But you gotta bear with me the plot itself

04:39It's told in a very poor fashion

04:41Like there's a lot of good stuff here that's really good

04:46And there's a lot of dumb stuff here particularly with some of the humor

04:50And a sort of like you know fish out of water scenario that they was playing into

04:53A lot like terminator

04:55It just didn't really mesh in

04:58And then there's also the

05:00The runtime right this movie is two hours and five minutes

05:03The pacing isn't bad

05:06The story being told though is that it needs a longer runtime like

05:11Like I'm at the point now where I'm watching a movie and

05:15You can tell that there was stuff that was missing

05:17Just some of the way the story is being told and you know everything's unfolding

05:21And here there is a lot of that

05:23Like it was almost like if I was watching um

05:26You know the justice league back in 2017

05:30Like the story is there but so much stuff is cut out and things just happen and come and go

05:36Like it was pretty obvious that the movie was

05:40Wasn't like a full movie

05:42And it got a lot of that vibes of watching this movie

05:47Which is pretty well because it's the rock right

05:50And you had so much time to actually work on this movie

05:52Even during the pandemic with delays and the visuals and everything

05:57Like

05:58Didn't have the issue

06:00Like the justice league with that movie was being rushed out

06:04So I don't know what the hell happened here with this movie

06:07It calmed out

06:08It came out like it was half baked for some reason

06:13Like even

06:15Even down to like the acting and the directing

06:18All of it

06:19It just felt like it was so obscure like

06:23Even down to the soundtrack and everything

06:26I was listening to the soundtrack and it's

06:29It sounds like a mesh of a bunch of stuff

06:32Like there's nothing unique or standout

06:34Or like something something significant to it

06:38It just feels like a mesh

06:40Of a bunch of things

06:43And

06:44If that's what if that's what they were going for

06:46I would have give them credit for that because

06:49The directing is also in that same fashion

06:53And it's

06:55It was so bizarre

06:57Just to see

06:59It's so weird because

07:00Like they had a pretty good cast here

07:03Like the guy who's playing Hawkman

07:06He was actually pretty good

07:08Seeing him and Pierce Bronson as

07:11You know

07:11Dr. Phil

07:12Those were my two favorites of the movie

07:15By far actually

07:16I know then there was like the guy who played Atom Smasher

07:19And

07:20Cyclone and all these other characters

07:23They all did pretty good

07:25But the standout here in my opinion from what I seen was

07:31Hawkman and Dr. Fate

07:33There's also the Superman cameo at the end

07:36But now that's a whole different story

07:39For another video

07:40To sum up this movie

07:42I would have to give this movie like a

07:44Like a flat 6 or a 6.1 out of 10

07:48You know it's fair

07:49It's not terrible

07:50It's still more positive and negative

07:55Because overall you can still like enjoy the movie

07:59You know when you're watching it

08:00You can still have fun with the movie

08:02I know the audience actually

08:04Favours the movie a lot

08:05It's a fun movie

08:07But it's also a very

08:09Mind-numbing soulless movie

08:12Because of so much of the

08:15The terrible shit that's in it

08:16And I really feel

08:17That the PG rating is what really screwed up this movie

08:24Like the same way how it screwed up the Venom movies

08:26You know this movie

08:27The Venom was intended to be R-rated

08:30I feel like that is the case here with this Blackadder movie

08:35You know they had to make it more PG

08:38They removed stuff

08:39They edited other stuff

08:41And kept it in a PG rating

08:43And it screwed up the flow of the movie

08:46The opinion that

08:48This movie like it needed like another half hour

08:51For that story to actually really

08:53Flesh itself out

08:55And

08:56Really

08:57Work

09:00Because

09:01They had all the stuff here

09:03It just wasn't

09:04In the way that it

09:06It should have been

09:07So yeah overall it pretty much sums up my whole

09:12Um it's a fan movie

09:15You know you can have fun with it and whatnot

09:17But it's not something you could really take seriously

09:21It's funny because it's pretty much like if you're the rock movie
