00:00Previously on Project Runway All Stars.
00:03Your challenge is to design gender neutral street wear.
00:07The only thing you will know about your models is their measurements.
00:10I'm really excited about this.
00:12This is what I do.
00:13Hello.
00:14I'm Christina.
00:15Nice to meet you.
00:16I transitioned about two years ago.
00:17What pronoun do you like to use?
00:19I know I'm a girl.
00:20It's really schlumpy.
00:22Mm-hmm.
00:23This time I want to stick to my guns.
00:26It's a little S&M-y, but business.
00:28It's really important to get the details right.
00:33I love the use of the feminine with the florals.
00:36I love these exaggerated long sleeves.
00:39This white cotton under the pants.
00:41That is achieving the goal of gender neutral.
00:44The winner of this challenge, Christina.
00:50I think it is costumey.
00:52It just looks very futuristic Martian.
00:55It's like another cliche about pinstripes.
00:58The expected part of it is what is disappointing.
01:01The eliminated designer tonight is...
01:04Sean.
01:07This is Project Runway All Stars.
01:10I'm like, what's going on?
01:21It's a television set.
01:23There's only six designers left.
01:24It means three in the bottom, three in the top.
01:27No matter what, everyone is getting a critique.
01:29So we're all gonna be in the runway.
01:32Okay.
01:33Oh, there we go.
01:35Okay.
01:38Good morning.
01:39This is a Project Runway All Stars special report.
01:42I'm Alyssa Milano.
01:44Headline news.
01:45Winners from Project Runway seasons worldwide are designing for the world title in Project Runway All Stars All Winners Edition.
01:52Our top story this week is climate change.
01:56Ooh.
01:57Your challenge is to design transformational resort wear.
02:01That means a look that transitions from one type of weather condition to another all in the same resort.
02:06Living in Toronto, the weather can go from like snowing to sunny to raining all in one day.
02:12Climate change is real, so it's great that we're doing something to bring awareness to the issue.
02:15Each of you will be sent on location.
02:18You will present a live fashion forecast during which your two weather conditions will be revealed.
02:26Christina, you won last week's challenge, so you're gonna go into the field first.
02:31I won last week's challenge and I'm really excited.
02:35Sean was eliminated and I was really taken aback.
02:39Hey Christina, here's your mic.
02:41But at the end of the day, anyone can go home, so I'm gonna keep going.
02:46I'm here to win.
02:47Be seen this way, so you're gonna read right into camera.
02:49It's a green screen and I'm just thinking to myself, what is going on?
02:54And now let's go live to Christina.
03:00The sky is a brilliant blue here in Mykonos, but get ready for some trouble in paradise this afternoon
03:05with the dangerous high wind alert in effect with strong winds out of the door.
03:10You better hold on to your hats, folks.
03:12Back to you, Alyssa.
03:15It's gonna be stormy.
03:17With all that gorgeous fresh powder up on the slopes, it's no surprise that everyone is in a frenzy.
03:23But be forewarned, conditions are expected to take a sharp turn and temperatures will rise up to a scorching 95 degrees by mid-afternoon.
03:32Pretty crazy, eh?
03:33We've got hot and humid temperatures in the mid-90s, but all good things must come to an end.
03:38By afternoon, humidity levels will skyrocket and lead to some severe thunderstorms.
03:43This is Baddell reporting live from Miami.
03:45Alyssa, back to the stories.
03:47This is Dmitry coming to you live from sunny Palm Springs, California.
03:52We've got a dramatic cold front headed in this evening.
03:56I can't see.
03:57I'm sorry.
03:58Warm tropical winds have been riveting through the jungle, toppling several trees and knocking
04:11our power to nearby buildings.
04:13To make matters worse, a major jump force will protect the sovereignty of to get ready since
04:18the truly troubled rain.
04:19Oh, my God!
04:20You're so rude!
04:21This is our final report.
04:22We are going to Arena.
04:23Violent thunderstorms rolling through the dunes.
04:24Lighting is crashing all around me.
04:25Later today, I'll have a break from the thunderstorms, but high winds out of the Northwest will take
04:39over.
04:40Let's go to the area green.
04:42Reporting live from Morocco.
04:47Now, you each have your own resort and your two weather conditions to design your climate
04:53change looks.
04:54Your fabric budget is $200 each.
04:57I will see you back on the runway tomorrow where the forecast is predicting some extreme
05:03weather.
05:04Oh, my God.
05:05This is Alyssa Milano for Project Runway All Stars wishing you good luck, designers.
05:10Oh, my God.
05:17My resort's in the Costa Rican mountainside and super, super windy in the morning and
05:24really, really rainy at night.
05:25I am doing a layered look.
05:27A jumpsuit with a overlay skirt and then the skirt comes off and turns into a raincoat.
05:32I'd love to do three pieces.
05:35With one day?
05:36Yeah, when it's from hot to cold or from sun to rain, so it has to be at least two pieces.
05:42I think I have the hardest one because it's not like, oh, it's windy.
05:47So what?
05:48For me, it's like sun to snow, so I have to make another garment.
05:53There is no escape, so just double work.
05:55All right, guys, it's time.
05:56Let's go to mood.
05:57Can we change first?
05:58Yes, please.
06:00All right, guys, 30 minutes to shop.
06:06I'm going to a tropical location.
06:11I'm looking for like a Moroccan-esque print.
06:14I'm designing for a woman that's going to Morocco.
06:17So, of course, I think caftan, and I want to do a pant out of all lightweight silk fabrics.
06:22Water-resistant fabric.
06:23Yeah, that's all upstairs.
06:24Okay.
06:25Suddenly I had this idea of like, what if my caftan flips up and turns into this waterproof
06:30windbreaker on the other side?
06:32Something with these tones in it.
06:34Blues, greens, yeah.
06:35If you're on Mykonos, you're wearing swimwear.
06:38Or you're naked, but I'm not going to send a model down the runway naked.
06:42So I'm doing a two-piece swimsuit and like a kimono caftan.
06:46I just can't seem to find any.
06:48So I'm thinking of print, but I can't find what I'm looking for.
06:51Nothing is resonating with me.
06:53Have you looked?
06:54I'm going like to all the different places.
06:57Can I please have five yards of it?
07:00Where's your outerwear like a, say I wanted like a rain proof.
07:04I'm designing a really hot, sexy Miami swimsuit that's worn underneath coveralls.
07:09And then it starts to rain.
07:10So she's got to like untie it, throw it on, zip it up, and she's good to go.
07:15This is amazing.
07:16So I get Whistler Mountain and we're going from snow to sun.
07:23And my first thought is, I ain't never been no damn mountain.
07:27Like, I ain't never seen a mountain.
07:29At least I don't think.
07:30Seen them in a movie.
07:31So my only jumping off point are those tacky 80's puffy jumpsuits that you used to wear when you go skiing.
07:39So I want this snap away coat and this cool dress that's underneath.
07:45Three of them.
07:46One minute guys!
07:53Take it easy people.
07:54I know Christina's still shopping.
07:55She's shopping next to her.
07:56She gives me so much nervous energy.
08:02I'm running out of time and I still need a print.
08:05This is incredible.
08:06And then all of a sudden this print just like jumps out at me.
08:10It's so nice.
08:11And I'm like I have to use this now.
08:13Christina where are you?
08:14I'm here.
08:15Five seconds.
08:16Oh.
08:17Guys, our lift is here.
08:18Thank you Mood.
08:19Bye.
08:20Thank you Mood.
08:26Mm-hmm.
08:27Woo.
08:29Oh Christina, you're by me.
08:30Oh yay.
08:31Irina.
08:32Irina's there.
08:33You're next to me for emotional support.
08:44You've got to be kidding me.
08:46Mm-hmm.
08:47And then you're Ryan, have you stayed at a resort?
08:52No, I've never stayed at one.
08:53Where would you go?
08:54I'll go visit Christina in Australia.
08:56Oh, that's nice.
08:58When I think of resort, I think of leisure and luxurious fabric.
09:03So I'm mostly thinking about building up the sleeve with the colors and the textures and the trim.
09:08It was raining.
09:09Okay, do it again.
09:10The reveal.
09:11Now it's dry.
09:12The reveal.
09:13I love it.
09:18I'm making a dress and a coat.
09:20I know that the coat is more complicated, so I give myself about four or five hours to make a dress, which is like unheard of.
09:28So I've got this mint and pink, really high cut, really low plunging swimsuit.
09:41I've never been to Miami, but maybe this is Miami.
09:43Oh, my Lord.
09:44But I think the other designers are taking resorts to this very glamorous place.
09:49I didn't really think of that, and I'm starting to question what I'm doing.
09:53Honey, that swimsuit is a risk.
09:58This is the first time Bedell has felt insecure about his work.
10:03I've never seen him like this before.
10:05I think he's in trouble.
10:07I don't know how I got here, so I am freaking out.
10:10.
10:12Coming up on Project Runway All Stars.
10:14Wow.
10:15I think it's pretty fabulous.
10:17Thanks.
10:18Blue Pops is just becoming a bit expected.
10:20Crap.
10:21Crap.
10:22It works.
10:23I don't know why this girl is wrapping herself 500 times.
10:35What color is the swimsuit?
10:36The swimsuit is pink and green.
10:38I'm getting a little worried that my look is not hitting the mark for what this challenge was about.
10:43But I have to stay in this game mentally, because I can't check out now.
10:48Oh.
10:50Oh, I could do that.
10:51So I finish a half cape, and I'm thinking about placing the buckles on the shoulder and the high waist and the lower waist.
11:01Something that you can go boop, boop, boop, boop. Off it comes.
11:09It's just stellar.
11:10Yeah.
11:11I've constructed my caftan, and I've constructed the top of the swimwear.
11:16So the idea is quite minimal, and it's not fussy.
11:22Why, yes, I was a skirt.
11:24I am making a skirt look like a skirt, but it has to incorporate sleeves.
11:29Hmm, I wonder who made that.
11:32An old lady.
11:34So getting the skirt piece proportional to the jumpsuit, but then turns into a jacket that's proportionate to the jumpsuit.
11:42It's kind of a mind .
11:44Cha-cha.
11:45I think I'm losing my mind.
11:47Honey, I think we're past that at this point.
11:49Hi, designers.
11:56Hi.
11:57I hear you had a lot of fun this morning, but fashion is serious business, so let's get down to it.
12:03Hi, Michelle.
12:04Hi, Anne.
12:05So where are we going, and what's the weather like?
12:06I'm going to the tropical resort in Costa Rica.
12:09It's going to start out a very blustery day, and then turn into a very rainy day.
12:14So this is the windy outfit?
12:15This is both the windy and the rainy outfit.
12:17When it starts to rain, she un-snaps the skirt, and the pockets come out and turn into sleeves.
12:26Wow.
12:27I think it's pretty fabulous.
12:28Thanks.
12:29Yeah.
12:30I thought you were going to say something about old wallpaper.
12:32What?
12:33You often choose very bizarre fabrics to me, but you really make them work.
12:37I think the two together are really fun.
12:39Yeah, and so unexpected.
12:40Yeah.
12:41I was questioning myself at the beginning.
12:43I kind of feel like I might be going the wrong direction, and then she says,
12:46this is fabulous, so I feel so much better.
12:48So we are going from snow to sun.
12:50We're going to be at Whistler.
12:52Ooh.
12:53So I kind of come out with this asymmetrical kind of jacket-cape idea.
12:58Okay.
12:59Can we talk about the color choice for a second?
13:00I know, girl.
13:01Don't kill me.
13:02So Anne is, why you doing blue again, boo?
13:05And I'm like, crap.
13:07To me, blue is my black.
13:09So blue pops is just becoming a bit expected.
13:12Right.
13:13Okay.
13:14Here's the thing.
13:15We're down to the final weeks.
13:16Right.
13:17The judges have a really tough job.
13:18You guys are all really talented, so it's time to really stand out.
13:21Okay.
13:22Yes, the colors are in your face, but I really want the judges to see that I embraced the challenge,
13:28but still kept me in it.
13:29How's all this fabulous color and pattern going to do in the rain?
13:33When it starts raining, it like cocoons around her, almost like a cape.
13:38This is waterproof.
13:39This is smart.
13:40And I sort of love the dullness of this, and then when it sort of just opens, it's like all the print and color.
13:47I think that that does make sense logically.
13:49Right.
13:50I just want to make sure that their first impression of this look is not, as you say, dull.
13:54Okay.
13:55She thinks it's a little too maybe muted and dull, so I'm going to add some trim and lace.
14:00So we're going to Mykonos, and it's sunny, and then it's going to get a bit windy.
14:05The pockets have this hidden inside them, and when she gets to the end of the runway,
14:10she'll pull out the pockets and then wrap it around her like this, and she'll like wrap it up and be like a little butterfly.
14:18This is not the most dramatic change.
14:20It's just a question of making a dramatic moment on the runway.
14:23Okay.
14:24I'll think about that.
14:25Thank you so much.
14:26Good luck, Christina, and congrats on your win last week.
14:28Appreciate it.
14:29Thanks, Anne.
14:30I'm going from sun to snow.
14:32Okay.
14:33It's a very tricky situation.
14:36And what are you going to do in the snow?
14:38My first idea is to make a coat.
14:40Yes.
14:41But then on the runway, like, it's not like she has to take off the coat.
14:45It's vice versa.
14:46Yeah, she has to carry it with her down there.
14:48To carry it with her.
14:49Yeah.
14:50So I think, I mean, you've taken the slightly more traditional route to two different climates
14:54as two different garments.
14:55What matters is to show a beautifully made garment.
14:58And if it's a coat, it's a coat, it's a dress, it's a dress.
15:01So I'm not worried.
15:02The weather is sunny to thunderstorms, and we are in Miami, South Beach.
15:07And you have never been?
15:08No, I've never been.
15:09It's very humid.
15:10Yeah.
15:11Is this denim?
15:12This is a light denim, and then it's going to be a coverall.
15:15So it's tied around her waist.
15:16And then when it starts to range.
15:17What do you mean coverall?
15:18Like what you're wearing now?
15:19Yeah.
15:20You know, these colors are reminding me of the architecture of Miami.
15:23It's very colorful.
15:24I just don't know anyone who would wear denim pants to the beach.
15:27I don't think she gets it.
15:28And quite frankly, I don't know what to make of it either.
15:31Designers, I'm always impressed with the level of work that all stars do.
15:35But I have to say, the six of you have really turned it up week after week.
15:40And this week, all of you are getting a critique, which means no one is safe.
15:45So you want to make sure you're in the top three this week.
15:48Good luck to all of you.
15:49Thank you, Miss Ann.
15:54Ann has a wealth of knowledge.
15:56And every time she's given me a really positive critique, I've either won or been in the top.
16:02Listen to Ann.
16:05When Ann tells me stuff, I listen.
16:10And this time, it just really freaked me out.
16:13Because I was planning to make a very jean-looking jean.
16:17But Ann said it doesn't work with what I'm doing.
16:20So I just want to swear right now.
16:27What do you say?
16:28What are you talking about?
16:29Like the Australian thing that people say.
16:31Crikey.
16:32Right.
16:33What does it mean?
16:34Crikey.
16:35Oh, it's just like .
16:36Crikey.
16:43Hi.
16:44Hi.
16:45How are you?
16:46How are you?
16:47Good.
16:48Hanging in there.
16:52Yeah, right?
16:53This skirt jacket is super weird.
16:56And I love it just as much as the jacket as I do as a skirt.
17:00And that's important.
17:01I'm trying to figure out if we should cover your head in the beginning or not.
17:05And then you'll drop it at the end of the runway.
17:07Okay.
17:08And then when you get to the end, you untie it, put the sleeves on.
17:11You'll have to go zhoop, zhoop, and then you'll go zhoop.
17:15And then it's the reveal to the summer look.
17:17So, overall, I think it's at a good place.
17:19I think the reveal is seamless.
17:21I mean, I love the idea of it being one-handed transition.
17:28Amazing.
17:29So, when my model comes in, I try this swimwear on her, and the top fit's amazing.
17:36So, it works.
17:38Christina's transformation takes forever.
17:41And I don't know why this girl is in the wind wrapping herself 500 times.
17:48Yeah, go for it.
17:49Yeah, do what you need to do to work it out.
17:51I love it.
17:52I think I'll probably have a snap.
17:54The button will be easier.
17:56It's a cool reveal.
17:58Bye.
17:59We'll see you tomorrow.
18:00Get lots of sleep.
18:01Bye.
18:03Bye.
18:04Model is so important.
18:07Yeah.
18:12That's quite a statement, Bedell.
18:16I'm just realizing, like, I'd rather take some wacky risk and go home for something that's at least outrageous.
18:22What is this?
18:23Um, I wasn't happy with the suit as it was.
18:26I cut out this little sample of a slime shape, and it looks like it's kind of, like, dripping.
18:30Something interesting about it.
18:31Anyway, it's what's happening.
18:32I feel like Bedell kind of gets on these, like, strange trains, and he just kind of rides them out.
18:39I guess be prepared to explain.
18:42Oh, yeah.
18:43I mean, I'd rather explain this than, like, a boring look.
18:53What am I supposed to say?
18:54I don't know.
18:55No, at this point, nothing.
18:57Right.
18:58Mm-hmm.
19:00They're gonna hit you with wind, right?
19:02Yeah.
19:03Oh, God.
19:04So it's gonna just, like...
19:05Well, obviously, that's gonna be epically beautiful.
19:07Bedell thinks that I'm gonna win the challenge, and I'm just, like, shush, because you don't know that.
19:14As a final look, it's really strong, but maybe I'm not thinking about the function of it and the lack of ease of tying this dress up.
19:22We're in this competition to, like, invent things and innovate, and wearing a caftan over a bathing suit is not a transition.
19:29It's just wearing a caftan over a bathing suit.
19:32Guys, that's time.
19:33Oh.
19:34This could be bad.
19:36Let's go.
19:37Bye, studio.
19:41Coming up on Project Runway All-Stars.
19:43Everyone else has glamour gowns, and I have a leisure suit.
19:46Well, she's bitching already.
19:48Some people are gonna think you're genius.
19:50Some people are gonna think you're nothing.
19:52That's what makes this competition tough.
20:04Morning of the runway, I have a lot to do.
20:06I've gotta get the buckles in, and I've got to resolve the dress that's going on underneath.
20:11I mean, I'm gonna be in that brother sewing room quite a lot.
20:16This is, like, the feature.
20:18Yeah.
20:19It's really hot.
20:20I like my design.
20:21I never make bathing suits.
20:22I think I did a really good job.
20:24Yeah, yeah, yeah.
20:25How long do we have?
20:29Good morning.
20:30Hi.
20:31Maybe just try it on.
20:33Pull them out.
20:34Unsnap.
20:35I don't know what the runway's gonna be like, because they say there's gonna be weather.
20:40Yes.
20:41You're not gonna get wet.
20:42Everyone else has glamour gowns, and I have a leisure suit.
20:46Well, she's bitching already.
20:48Who's bitching?
20:49Oh, just Vidal.
20:50I'll step in here.
20:51I get the look on the model.
20:53And this swimsuit is just clashing with this jumper now.
20:57The jumper went really sporty, and the swimsuit's a little too sexy.
21:00I'm deciding if I should make a new swimsuit or not.
21:03Do you need that headache?
21:04So I'm gonna remake a two-piece bathing suit.
21:07It's a little bit more sporty cut.
21:09Just have to drop that neck down a bit.
21:11So when you walk out, just like put it over your arm.
21:15The difficult part about this is how do you make the transition smooth?
21:20I hope it works out, creating two pieces.
21:23You're in Palm Springs carrying a blazer.
21:26Like, what sense does that make?
21:28The only thing that I can think of is, waiter, over here.
21:37Hiya.
21:39Two.
21:41My vision for the Umberto Beverly Hills Hair Salon is sexy, wind-blown hair,
21:46maybe with slight wave in it.
21:48We can use Umberto volume-boosting mousse,
21:50and then we'll blow out her hair with it,
21:52and we'll add a little volume.
21:53Like femme fatale in the desert.
21:55It starts out in the morning with tons of high wind,
21:59and then it ends in the afternoon with a rainstorm.
22:02Maybe a wet, tassel, dready kind of look.
22:04Yeah, that would be awesome.
22:09So it's a sunny day, but then all of a sudden it's gonna snow.
22:11I'm gonna use the Butter London Blusher.
22:13It's warm and glowy.
22:15It has a shimmer, and I keep thinking about glazen,
22:18and the different tones.
22:19Beautiful.
22:20I think that's really beautiful, like these two.
22:22If a caftan count, what count?
22:24Glazen count.
22:25Glazen count.
22:31Wrap it how you wanna wrap it.
22:33The belt is the biggest thing that I'm concerned about.
22:35I've got to train my model how to do this kind of complicated transition.
22:40Isn't it?
22:41You wanna practice taking it off?
22:42Okay, yeah.
22:43I actually really love the look.
22:45I think they're cool separates that look like they're one piece.
22:49It's cute.
22:51I find these unbelievably cool shoes on JCPenney accessory wall.
22:55It's bohemian, and it's fashion.
22:58I know it's fashion.
22:59That's what I do.
23:00It's cuter, right?
23:01It's not stripper.
23:02No, it's cute.
23:03Yeah.
23:04Yeah, it's cute.
23:07Damn it.
23:08Guys, 10 minutes to runway.
23:10Woo!
23:1110 minutes to stormy weather.
23:13That's for sure.
23:16Sleeves out.
23:17Starts to rain.
23:24I zone her out.
23:27She's distracting, and it's not cool.
23:29It's so pretty.
23:30Oh, my gosh.
23:31Irina's look is not a good taste level.
23:33All these things together, it's like, ugh.
23:36But she is extremely good technically.
23:39And I really like her.
23:40I think she's one of the very few real people here.
23:43Guys, it's time.
23:44We have to go.
23:45Alrighty.
23:46Let's head down.
23:47This is me taking a risk.
23:51Crikey.
23:53Coming up on Project Runway All Stars.
23:55That's all star thinking.
23:57I see construction.
23:58I see ideas there.
24:00I felt like this was kind of generic.
24:02It looks like she got into a bad accident or something.
24:05Oh, God.
24:07The winner of Project Runway All Stars will collaborate with JCPenney on a capsule collection as part of the Project Runway line to be sold at select JCPenney stores and online at JCP.com.
24:18An editorial and photo spread in Marie Claire magazine and a position as guest editor for one year.
24:23The opportunity to create a signature nail color and an inspiring trip for two to London, England from luxury makeup brand Butter London.
24:31A selection of brother sewing and embroidery machines valued at $40,000.
24:36And to elevate their business and build their brand, a cash prize of $100,000.
24:49Hi, designers.
24:50Hi.
24:51This week you designed resort wear that transitions from one weather condition to another.
24:56Let's meet the judges critiquing your work.
24:59First, co-founder and designer of luxury brand Marquesa, Georgina Chapman.
25:04Hi.
25:06Next, one of the most iconic names in American fashion designer, Isaac Mizrahi.
25:12Hi, designers.
25:14Our first guest is an Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Award winner who took America by storm with her performance in the Broadway musical The Color Purple.
25:24She's now starring in the title role in a movie about American hero, Harriet Tubman.
25:29Hello.
25:30Please welcome Cynthia Erivo.
25:32Our next guest is originally from Beirut, Lebanon.
25:38She dresses Dubai royalty and her other A-list clients include Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, Halle Berry, and Selena Gomez.
25:47Here's designer Reem Akra.
25:49The winning designer receives $5,000 from Southwest Airlines and a version of their look will be sold on JCP.com.
25:59So, rain or shine, let's hope it's still a hot runway.
26:03Have a great show.
26:05My model looks so stunning.
26:15She really looks the part.
26:16She looks like she's lost and incognito in the storm.
26:21It really, really is so perfect.
26:27And I think the reveal alone is just so exciting.
26:40I love the fabrics together.
26:42I'm really worried that the judges are going to think that it's super vintage and odd.
26:45So, yeah.
26:46I am nervous.
26:47I think the print is beautiful.
27:10I love the drama and the length of the kimono.
27:13Gorgeous.
27:14I think the outfit's really strong.
27:16I really love the concept.
27:41It reads to me fun.
27:43I think it would work great in the snow.
27:46I'm so happy I made the change to the swimwear.
27:47It would have just been way too sexy and not working with the sporty vibe of the jumper.
27:51I'm so happy I made the change to the swimwear.
27:52I'm so happy I made the change to the swimwear.
27:56It would have just been way too sexy and not working with the sporty vibe of the jumper.
28:01I'm so happy I made the swimwear.
28:02I'm so happy I made the change to the swimwear.
28:08I'm so happy I made the change to the swimwear.
28:09I'm so happy I made the change to the swimwear.
28:10I'm so happy I made the change to the swimwear.
28:11It would have just been way too sexy and not working with the sporty vibe of the jumper.
28:15I love how flowy and how cool she looks.
28:36I think she looks magical.
29:05I hope the world's welcome.
29:08Designers you guys did great work.
29:10Congratulations.
29:12This week you all received a critique.
29:15One of you is the winner of this week's challenge.
29:18And one of you will be eliminated tonight.
29:25Irina tell us about your resort wearer and the climate change you had.
29:29She's at a Moroccan desert resort.
29:32she's in a thunderstorm and then a windy sandstorm what I like so much was that
29:38you invented this kind of wonderful top that becomes a rainproof shawl it's
29:43waterproof so it's like windbreaker that's great that's all-star thinking I
29:48love all the mix of fabrics the top looks really expensive Cynthia this
29:53color combination wasn't for me I do however commend you for having a hood
29:57when there's rain the pair of pants did not work well for me at all I think the
30:02color was a little imbalanced but I love the ease in which she was able to
30:08transform it really brilliant idea thank you Anthony Ryan I was given whistler
30:15mountain going from snow to Sun I've never been snow mountain II so the only really
30:23reference point I had was the tacky puffer things and they're kind of in fun
30:28colors I love the play on the like 1980s snowsuit it's like a couture Snuggie I
30:35adore the top half it's when we get to the ground where the linen shirt dress
30:39loses the preciseness of what you do and the colors I find difficult okay I think
30:47the structure is wonderful and I happen to like the color combination my problem
30:51with this is she has one absolutely freezing arm in the snow I don't think
30:57it's a good concept I see construction I see ideas there there's something
31:02stunning here but I feel that you could go further I'll keep that mine but Dell
31:07you're up next tell us about your climate quick change well I was going to Miami
31:12and it was a sunny day and then it started to rain and a thunderstorm a
31:16jumpsuit to me is the most transitional item of clothing because you literally wear
31:20it around your waist until it gets cold and you throw it on I thought you took
31:23me to Miami I love the colors and I always use wraps around my hips so I like
31:29that I wanted something just a little extra like I don't know I wanted like a
31:33huge hood to come over I think you've executed this beautifully I just didn't
31:38get a sense of you as a designer in this we've seen such great things from you I'm
31:42kind of encouraging you to pump the volume up a little bit darling it's a sports bra
31:46and a jumpsuit you know that's all it is it was honestly just getting into this
31:51challenge particular we're exhausted as it is never never say that never say
31:55you're tired it's not that's the kiss of death when you tell people how tired you
32:00are don't do that Demetri tell us about climate changes you were given we are in
32:05Palm Springs California in a desert resort so it's very hot and then it snows I gave
32:13her a coat like a throne two pieces that are very opposite but at the same time
32:20they work together I didn't see where it matches in the spirit of it or even in
32:25the shape or proportion can we put it on please I don't think it works no they're
32:33normally impeccable about proportion and the sleeves are so short it looks like she
32:38got into a bad accident or something perhaps if it being a cape I think it
32:42would have worked better I thought of it but I was a bit nervous because it's so
32:46eclectic that it's gonna become a bit costuming frankly I see nothing bad about
32:51this I like it a lot that is a really good dress looks like an all-star piece to me
32:56thank you Christina your critique is next we're in Mykonos the weather is
33:01sunshine to wind I wanted to create sexy swimwear but she's still covered within
33:07the sunlight and then when it's windy she rolls out these straps and wraps herself
33:12like a butterfly it's very nice I can see people wearing this but I feel like I
33:17could buy this tomorrow I felt like this was kind of generic something about the
33:22taste level on the bathing suit to me looks a little bit inexpensive who do you
33:27design for women that want ease in the same way that a man does so I create
33:33androgynous streetwear for women I'm still struggling to find who you are as
33:37a designer a little bit what you're describing I'm not really reading that
33:41when you say easy androgynous but I think it's really really successful in
33:45the fabric in the way you cut it yeah so congratulations on that thank you
33:49you're welcome hi Michelle my poor vacationer is having a really difficult
33:54time in Costa Rica but she really wants to look good even though she's starting out
33:59with a windy kind of day and ending up in a very rainy situation I'm crazy about
34:04it I think it's inventive can you transform it for me because I feel like
34:08you had the trickiest transition so the sleeves were tucked into a slit like a
34:13pocket and the skirt turns into your raincoat I think the proportions are great
34:19this week and she feels very real for something that's doing this bizarre
34:23transition you've really sold me anyone who could think that sick thought of
34:30those two prints together and then you totally got that right but do I need that
34:34plunging neckline I don't know I definitely need the plunging neckline I
34:38think it's great I think that the two prints together are genius I can say
34:43nothing wrong except the shoes I feel that the shoes could have been flat she
34:50would have been that it's good that's the only thing okay thank you designers and
34:56thank you to all your models the judges and I will now deliberate you can take
35:00cover in the backstage lounge
35:03well that was rough they came for me Isaac and Georgina I really loved what I did but I
35:18disagree that it's not my girl I saw you in it you have to hold on yourself while delivering the
35:24challenges that's what makes this competition so hard yeah some people are gonna think you're
35:28genius some people gonna think you're nothing yeah yeah so frustrated so this has been the most
35:35interesting critique we've had I think of all season because the reviews were so mixed well
35:41let's start with our favorites let's start with arena the textiles were interesting on the top I
35:46love the print and the gold I've never seen her mix textiles like this before and have this sort of
35:51romantic edge I wasn't convinced with that color I thought that the pants just weren't really flattering
35:58they didn't have that I fit let's talk about Michelle there's a little bit too much leopard
36:05that's the one criticism I would make it was an odd idea that shouldn't have worked yet she really sold it
36:11to me if you think of it technically you would say how would it work using the sleeve as a pocket
36:16that's an invention that she could take to the bank I don't think I've ever used it on the show
36:22but I hated this which one Demetrius did you the moment she put that coat on I was just like no
36:28everything about it was off to me the sleeve length the proportion of that coat with the long of the
36:33dress but the idea of a coat with this strip of see-through right yeah it's not great out of all those
36:40clothes up there today those were the pieces that if I walked into a store I would purchase
36:45Demetrius looks chic to me Anthony Ryan just looks like foolish but that at least was a cohesive
36:53thought what was cohesive about it what was cohesive about that for me she was like wearing a nightgown
37:00underneath the coat I see nothing wrong in this I really don't I love this look I think it was smart
37:06I think it was well made it is a look I will give you that let's talk about the Dell it was a
37:15flawless sports bra and jumpsuit I don't know if that screams all-stars that to me is not very
37:20forward-thinking right I love the colors they're so fresh they're so Miami he had a funny like
37:26resignation this week did you notice that pissed me off me too he must gave in this week let's talk
37:34about Christina I don't think she knows who our woman is she's designing for somebody she's not
37:38even clear on the vision I did think that the silhouette was beautiful when it was open and
37:44closed and looked different enough for it to be a transformation there's a different way to get to
37:49that silhouette I think all of that rope was completely unnecessary it looks like a bad sort
37:56of poochie knockoff but a bad knockoff a bad one we are pretty divided on a couple of designers but I
38:06think we know what we're gonna do yeah are you guys in agreement yes okay let's bring them back out
38:19designers one of you is the winner of this week's challenge and one of you will be eliminated tonight
38:25Michelle and Arena you have the top looks of the week one of you wins this challenge and walks away
38:40with $5,000 courtesy of Southwest Airlines the winning designer this week is
38:46Michelle thank you
38:52congratulations Michelle thank you so much and great job to you Arena both of you have made it
39:00through to next week thank you I feel really great I loved what I did and I thought it was very much
39:08representative of me and I'm happy I'm really happy Dimitri and Anthony Ryan your looks completely
39:16divided the judges we need you to rise to the challenge of all-stars and get rave reviews
39:22from across the board we will see you both next week thank you good luck good luck Christina your concept
39:33was not thought through and the finished garment looked dull and inexpensive Vidal you confused some
39:41of us this week by presenting a simple jumpsuit it felt junior Christina and Vidal you are both deserving
39:49winners of your own international seasons but only one of you can remain on all-stars the eliminated designer
39:57winner is
40:05Christina
40:06and that means Vidal we will see you next week you can leave the runway thank you
40:14Christina Christina thank you so much for joining us on all-stars you will always be a project runway
40:26winner thank you so much it's been an amazing experience and I'm a bit shocked and surprised but
40:35it's been great you're so special thanks so much guys I'm really glad that I've been able to be a
40:45part of project runway all-stars and come to the US and do this I just wish that I pushed myself more
40:55that's all I wanted to like you know get to the top three at least and I just felt like I let myself down
41:02a bit so that's all Christina you're so great and we enjoyed your company and your humor I've got a lot
41:09to figure out you know what direction that I want to head in good luck I guess that's my next chapter
41:16blank piece of paper from here
41:20next on project runway all-stars hello designers holy Nina Garcia is here that is so scary to me your
41:33challenge is to create a gown for a royal ball I think I'm losing my mind it is your specialty so
41:42that's gonna make some people nervous I just don't think it feels very formal well what is formal royal ball
41:47I don't know if it's appropriate for a royal ball it's not it's not no I want to see something that
41:57hasn't been done we will have to go to another planet
