00:00It's haunted.
00:01People say that they have seen things.
00:05The house, it's spooky.
00:07The number of us believing in ghosts,
00:09spirits and the supernatural is on the increase.
00:12Leave me alone.
00:14I'm scared.
00:15What was that?
00:17Even our favourite celebrities' homes
00:20are plagued by paranormal activity.
00:22Oh, what do you think you're here?
00:24It's a murder.
00:25Thankfully, there are three people who can help.
00:28Dark arts specialist Ian Lawman
00:30is an ordained exorcist and medium.
00:32In the name of Jesus Christ, tell me your name.
00:36Paranormal researcher Jane Harris
00:38is a psychologist and historian.
00:40Behind.
00:42Investigator Barry Guy is the technical expert.
00:46Affect me now.
00:47Together, they're investigating celebrity homes.
00:50John!
00:51I'm going, I'm going.
00:52Gathering evidence and communicating with spirits.
00:56What the f***?
00:58What the f***?
00:59What the f***?
01:00Doing whatever it takes to return their homes
01:03back to the hands of the living.
01:08And recording.
01:16Coming up...
01:17Oh, no way!
01:19A confused celebrity.
01:21Do I believe in the paranormal?
01:23Yes and no.
01:24With ghostly goings-on.
01:26Did you just move the chair?
01:28I'm nowhere near the chair.
01:30With touchy-feely spirits.
01:32Ah!
01:35Something just grabbed my leg.
01:36Telling secrets.
01:40Oh, it's a murder.
01:42And putting the fear into our team.
01:44That sent shivers down my spine, that has.
01:53We're on the outskirts of Chelmsford in Essex.
01:55Chelmsford.
01:56Former capital of England.
01:58Really?
01:59Yeah, 1300s.
02:00Before London, of course.
02:01This part of the country suffered hugely during the Great Plague.
02:06And was also home to a number of witch trials.
02:12Yeah, I'm excited for this case.
02:14Are you?
02:15I think it's going to be fun.
02:16It's a bit spooky.
02:18All the things we like.
02:21The team have been called in to investigate reports
02:24of paranormal activity by the owner of this 200-year-old cottage.
02:28Right, the first thing I'd like to say is I don't like you on my cushions.
02:31I like my cushions nice and plump.
02:33I'm not happy about you sitting on the sofa, but that's fine,
02:35because let's see what I've got in this house.
02:37I don't know what it is, darling.
02:38I know there's two homosexuals and my dad living at the other end,
02:40but apart from that, there's something else going on,
02:43and it's not of a human nature.
02:44So all I'd like to say, guys, is why you're here.
02:47Let's find out what it is.
02:48If it wants to stay, if it wants to go.
02:50Either way, I'm not bothered.
02:51I just want to know what it is.
02:52So let's get going with this.
02:53It's the home of dancer, choreographer and reality TV star Louis Spence.
02:59Do I believe in the paranormal?
03:01Yes and no.
03:03There are certain things that are unexplained that,
03:06well, I can't explain.
03:07I mean, that's why you guys are here.
03:09Six months into living in here, I started to get this very strange smell.
03:14It was like a cigarette smoke.
03:16It was just like a musty, a thick smell of smoke.
03:20Along with that, I got this waft of like a perfume.
03:24Like your nan, it's that kind of smell.
03:26It could happen for a couple of days in a row,
03:29and then it could go for three or four weeks,
03:32and then all of a sudden it's there again.
03:34Now, you explain that to me.
03:36What do I think is causing the activity?
03:38That's quite hard to say.
03:40I mean, my sisters like to think it's my mum.
03:45We had like a marble thing and then her ashes were inside.
03:49Water had got in and she was just this bit of sludge.
03:53I was like, well, what are we going to do?
03:55And I thought, well, I know, we're a cooker on the agar.
03:58And I thought, well, she'd already been burnt at about a thousand degrees anyway.
04:01So going on the agar at about, you know, 250,
04:04I mean, it's not going to hurt her at all.
04:05I was just drying her out.
04:07And maybe by drying her out, I have, you know, maybe released her spirit.
04:12So it could be my mum.
04:15I would just like help with finding out if there's a spirit here.
04:19They may not want to be here.
04:20And it may be something we're doing that is keeping them here
04:23and we need to release them.
04:25If that's the case, I don't want them here either.
04:27I feel this property is going to have quite an emotional connection somehow.
04:37Something maybe to the homeowner that's just emotional to them, personal.
04:43Medium Ian insists on being told nothing about the investigation in advance.
04:48So he knows it's only his psychic abilities that are guiding him.
04:52So there's definitely female energy there.
04:55And there's a smell.
04:57Oh, I've seen we're here.
05:07This looks really magical, doesn't it?
05:11This is it. This looks like a farmhouse.
05:21It looks really pretty. Doesn't it?
05:23Yeah.
05:24It looks interesting and it looks haunted.
05:27Good, perfect.
05:28It looks haunted.
05:29Yeah.
05:30Well, listen, I'm going to go meet up with the homeowner's sister
05:32to find out about some of the experiences that they've all had here.
05:35Okay.
05:36Well, I'm going to go off and find out about the local area
05:38and I'll ask some questions about the land as well.
05:40Yeah, please do.
05:41And I'll look at this place.
05:42Good luck.
05:43See you later.
05:44See you later.
05:53Hello?
05:54Hello?
06:02My eyes are stinging as soon as I've walked into this place.
06:05How can I explain it?
06:07There's a scent of some sort and there's a strong mist or a smoke instantly
06:12that's drawing me into what appears to be a dining room.
06:18So this room here, my eyes are stinging once again.
06:21There's just something to do with the smell that I was smelling in the car.
06:27I think it's cigar or tobacco.
06:30And is that smoke coming from that?
06:32Because it just seems very thick and heavy.
06:37I've come just down the road to the local churchyard to meet historian Richard Bale.
06:44It's such a stunning quaint village.
06:47Any kind of juicy gossip or scandals or rumours, there's always stuff like that isn't there in villages?
06:53Well, there is because it relates to a lady that was married three times.
06:57This story is recorded by some local historians in the early 19th century.
07:02There was a general belief that widows might kill their husbands by putting pigeon feathers into their pillows.
07:09And where we're standing, we have a lady who was accused of that.
07:13Killing their husbands with pigeon feathers.
07:16How could that work?
07:17What did they believe would happen?
07:19I can only imagine that they thought there must be some sort of poison within the feathers.
07:24Or maybe some kind of witchcraft.
07:27This lady called Rebecca Tiffin was initially married to a guy called John Joseph.
07:33When he died, there was a thought that he had died from this pigeon feather murder.
07:39She then married a guy called John Jocelyn, who, as he was dying, thought maybe he'd been poisoned in the same way.
07:46And he threatened to walk if she was married for a third time.
07:51What did he mean by that, do you think? That he would rise from the dead?
07:54Yes, I take it to mean exactly that.
07:57Okay.
07:58Yes.
08:03This is an amazing dresser. It's beautiful.
08:05But the closer I come to this dresser, it's almost as if there's some poltergeist activity.
08:13And it's oozing energy that it's touched something here.
08:16There's just something strange going on.
08:18It's really funny because that's really strong smell of cigar.
08:22And smoke is getting stronger as I walk into this area.
08:30Wow. You can almost feel it.
08:31You can, you can plait the fog of smoke from the dining room into this little passageway here.
08:38And it gets stronger the further you go into it.
08:45And then there's this sweet smell of perfume.
08:50There's a female in here trying to get my attention.
08:53There is a lady here called Pat, or Patricia, but she's saying Pat.
09:08And she loves this house.
09:11But it doesn't make sense because it's almost as if she's never been here, but she loves this house.
09:17I've come to meet Louie's sister, Tania, who also lives on the property in a separate annex.
09:22What's your kind of position on, you know, paranormal, hauntings, that kind of stuff? Do you believe in it all?
09:29I wouldn't say I don't believe in it, but I always think there's an answer to something that happens.
09:35Yeah.
09:39Rather than, oh my God, have I got a ghost in my house or, you know, is something going on?
09:44Yeah.
09:45And it doesn't really scare me.
09:47So, you know, I try to look at it logically.
09:50So why are we here then?
09:51Because, you know, when someone's there, but they're not there.
09:55And you turn around and you think somebody's going to come up behind you, like Louie might be coming up the stairs.
09:59I don't hear him.
10:00But like, I think, oh, Louie's in the doorway and I turn around.
10:03Yeah.
10:04But he's not.
10:05So that sort of feeling.
10:06But like, so I turned around because I thought, but nothing.
10:10So you thought someone was behind you.
10:12Yeah.
10:13You just get that feeling.
10:14You know, when you, like, sometimes I'll sit here and I'll think Louie's coming over there, but you know, you just feel that.
10:19So I turn around to see him.
10:21No one's there.
10:22I don't know what.
10:23It's just.
10:24It's a presence.
10:25Like somebody's there.
10:26Yeah.
10:27Oh, that's just weird.
10:28Like someone's behind me.
10:29Who do you think it could be?
10:30My mum.
10:31I want it to be my mum.
10:32Are you 100% like convinced or do you just feel that?
10:36I want it to be.
10:37I don't know whether I feel that.
10:39I want it to be my mum.
10:41What would it mean to you and your brother if we conclude our investigation and we think we have evidence that your mum is still here?
10:50The world.
10:53It's alright.
10:56Would it mean, would it mean that to you and to Louie as well?
11:00Yeah.
11:01Yeah?
11:02Yeah.
11:03Sorry.
11:04Would it be a comfort?
11:05Yeah.
11:06Okay.
11:07And what would you like us to do?
11:08Would you like us to pray for her?
11:09Would you like us to?
11:10You can do whatever you like as long as I know she's okay.
11:14God bless you.
11:15It's alright.
11:16Honestly.
11:18She was a big part of our family.
11:20Yeah.
11:21And she kept us all.
11:23She made us what we are.
11:26That's why we're all so close now.
11:28Do you know the fascinating thing is, there's that many beams and so much woodwork in here, what's come from all over the place, maybe from outside the village even, and that within itself is a magnet to spirit.
11:42Did you hear that?
11:43It's unbelievable.
11:44It's almost as if somebody sat in it, there was a creak of wood, and there was a noise coming from the chair.
11:57I think she sits over there.
12:00Somebody's calling me upstairs.
12:05Hello?
12:10I'm getting a tightness in my throat.
12:17Do you know something?
12:20I feel I need to have a walk outside, because there's just something to do with the land that's drawing me as well.
12:28So I'm going to have a walk out there and see what I feel.
12:31I've already learned about John Jocelyn, who was allegedly killed with poisoned pigeon feathers.
12:41But I'm wondering if anything else sinister happened around here.
12:45Is this area known for anything else in particular, of a kind of darker nature?
12:51Well, if we look a little bit further back to the time of Queen Mary I, we have a guy called William Piggott, who was a Protestant dissenter.
13:01And he was burnt at the stake on the 28th of March, 1555.
13:06And we are in a part of Essex where the Witchfinder General, Matthew Hopkins, was operating during the English Civil War.
13:14And of the 23 women that were prosecuted, four of them unfortunately passed away in prison before they came to trial.
13:21And the other 19 were all hung.
13:23Wow.
13:24So we've potentially got Rebecca, her three husbands.
13:30We have William Piggott.
13:32And all of this going on in witch hunting territory.
13:37So actually for us in terms of our investigation at the house this evening, we've got a lot to consider.
13:43I'm just noticing pigeons behind you.
13:45I think we'll make a sharp exit, shall we, while you're safe?
13:47Definitely.
13:48Absolutely.
13:54There's just got to be so much stuff going on around this land.
14:01I hate to say it, but maybe even murders.
14:13I hate to say it.
14:16Now we've all finished our initial investigations, it's time for the celebrity to reveal themselves to Ian.
14:24You all right, guys?
14:25Hi, guys. How are you?
14:26Yeah, good. How'd it go?
14:27Really, really well.
14:28Hello.
14:29Hello.
14:30Hi, Louis.
14:31Welcome to my home. Nice to meet you.
14:32Nice to meet you.
14:33Hello. How are you?
14:34Good.
14:35Thank you for letting me look around your beautiful home. It's stunning.
14:37You're welcome. It's a pleasure.
14:39There's lots of things going on in there, and I need to say to you, it is haunted.
14:43Really?
14:44Yeah.
14:45Oh, I know there's something going on there, but I wasn't expecting that much of a result that quick.
14:49But I will tell you more information once we get inside.
14:51Okay, great.
14:52The first part of our investigation, Louis, we call it spirit triggers, because we want to trigger some activity in your beautiful home. Will you join us to do that?
15:00Absolutely, darling. Let's go. Over the bridge.
15:07We're starting off the spirit trigger session in Louis's living room.
15:12Right, come through, guys. Sit yourself down.
15:15Oh, let's get triggering, darling, because I'm quite looking forward to this.
15:18This is a digital voice recorder, Louis.
15:23Okay.
15:24So we use this to record disembodied voices, ghost voices.
15:27Okay.
15:28So the idea is that we're going to now record, quietly.
15:32Louis, would you mind hopefully calling out?
15:35No.
15:36Recording, Louis.
15:38Is there anybody in my house?
15:49Are you happy?
15:52Can I just say something out of interest?
15:54Now, this window...
15:55I was going to say that.
15:56When I very first said, does anyone here, it tapped twice.
15:58It did.
15:59And it did exactly the same when you did it.
16:00And I know that the window's open, and I know it can be wind, but it's so coincidental that at that exact same point, asking, it went tap, tap.
16:07It's just...
16:08It is. You're totally right. And I was going to say exactly the same thing.
16:11Let's listen back to see if there is a response to Louis's questions.
16:16Is there anybody in my house?
16:23Oh, wow.
16:24That said yes.
16:25It was like a whisper.
16:26Yeah.
16:27Yeah.
16:28Yeah.
16:29Did you hear that, Louis?
16:31Did you hear that?
16:32Do you know what?
16:34That is a bit more scary than the things that have happened, because they don't concern me too much because I don't feel threatened.
16:42Yeah.
16:43But I suppose when someone actually says yes, I'm like...
16:50Let's try one more time.
16:51Three, two, one, recording.
16:54What is your name?
16:58I actually heard something then.
17:00What was that?
17:01Did you?
17:02I don't know.
17:03Where was that coming from?
17:04I don't know.
17:05Three, no.
17:06Yeah, me too.
17:07Well, that was kind of weird because it was in that chair direction.
17:09That chair, I got in an antique shop.
17:12Before my auntie Maureen died, the chair she'd always sit in because it was most comfortable was this chair.
17:19And then Sonia, who died last year, and every time she'd come, we'd put her in that chair.
17:24We'd joke now and say, well, look, don't sit in the death chair.
17:27Because, do you know what I mean?
17:29Yeah.
17:30Well, this female's really strong.
17:32She's here.
17:33She's willing to talk.
17:34She's wanting to talk.
17:35So, we need to take this further.
17:37When I spoke to your sister, I asked her if she would possibly join us for spirit triggers.
17:43I can't get her.
17:45With Tania living at the property along with Louis, there's a chance that the female spirit we're sensing might have a connection with her.
17:55Hi, Tania.
17:56Hello.
17:57Hello.
17:58And as soon as Tania comes in, I sense something familiar.
18:03When I did my walk around, a name came to me.
18:07And it's just come back to me.
18:10What, a person's name?
18:12Yeah.
18:13I have the name Pat.
18:16Pat is in this house.
18:20Well, Pat's our mum.
18:22No.
18:23Yeah.
18:24Are you joking me?
18:25Your mum's known as Pat.
18:26Yeah.
18:27You've talked about your mum.
18:28Yeah.
18:29And I said, there's no guarantees that she's here.
18:30Mm-hmm.
18:31Well, she is.
18:32Oh, how nice.
18:34Wow.
18:35It's actually a nice warm feeling, don't it?
18:37Wow.
18:38So, can I tell you then that your mum is in your house?
18:41Oh, God.
18:42Hide the gin and tonic.
18:45Well, that's what I said, I thought.
18:46Hide the vodka.
18:47The alcohol disappeared.
18:49I think, as you're both here together, let's ask your mum to speak to us.
18:54We're using an ITC app called Echovox, which creates words from a phonetic bank of sounds.
19:01Hello.
19:02Is there anyone here that wishes to speak to us?
19:07Do you know Louie?
19:09Do you know Tanya?
19:11Pat.
19:12Pat.
19:13Pat.
19:14Liam.
19:15God, that sounded like man.
19:18Three.
19:19You look scared.
19:21I'm not scared.
19:23I'm just like, if it is mum, I'm just thinking, did I always shut the door in the bathroom?
19:30Is that you, mum?
19:39Mum?
19:40Are you okay?
19:45Mum.
19:46It's mum.
19:47It's mum.
19:48It's mum.
19:49Is that what they said?
19:50Yeah.
19:51And again, they've repeated it for you.
19:58Is there one question that you've got to ask your mum that you'd like to know the answer to?
20:08Is she happy?
20:11Is she happy?
20:13What was that?
20:14What?
20:15That was someone else that said, she's something.
20:17Yeah.
20:18It was two syllables.
20:20She's laughing.
20:21She's laughing. She's laughing. I think it said she's laughing.
20:25She's laughing.
20:28Louis and Tania's mum is here and seems content to be with her children.
20:34Wow. How nice.
20:37But Ian has also sensed other presences.
20:40I have an idea, if you're up for it, both of you.
20:45Can we go into your dining room where I'd like you to participate
20:50in another experiment to communicate with the spirits in this house?
20:54OK. Let's go. Yeah.
20:56Right.
21:01To try and communicate with the male spirit, we're using a spirit board.
21:06This is a very traditional form of divination,
21:09a way of communicating with spirits.
21:11What we needed to do is use this planchette on the board.
21:16You allow the spirits to move the planchette
21:19and wherever it lands, you'll see the letter underneath there.
21:23OK.
21:31There is a man here.
21:34The gentleman that's here, can you come forward for us, please?
21:38Can you identify yourself while you're in this property?
21:42The planchette is moving.
21:43So I've got the name here of John, who has a link to this property,
21:47but he's telling me it's also got a link to a church in some way.
21:48OK.
21:49OK.
21:50So I've got the name here of John, who has a link to this property,
21:55but he's telling me it's also got a link to a church in some way.
21:58OK.
21:59This could be John Jocelyn.
22:00Now, John Jocelyn is actually linked to the land.
22:01He's buried in the closest church to him.
22:02So I've got the name here of John.
22:04So I've got the name here of John, who has a link to this property,
22:11but he's telling me it's also got a link to a church in some way.
22:15OK.
22:17This could be John Jocelyn.
22:22Now, John Jocelyn is actually linked to the land.
22:26He's buried in the closest church to here, which is a stone's throw.
22:31Allegedly, he was the victim of murder.
22:38OK.
22:41Guys, look, look, look.
22:44It's going to a yes, isn't it?
22:45Yeah.
22:46So it's him.
22:47Right.
22:48OK.
22:49It's not moving quickly, but it's definitely something.
22:50It's definitely him.
22:52Why would John be here?
22:54I can't answer that.
22:55I don't know how far his death was.
22:59But that's what I picked up in the garden today,
23:01that there was a murder close by here.
23:04So that energy is quite strong.
23:06It could be, yeah.
23:08That flooring there.
23:09Yeah.
23:10That parquet flooring is from a church.
23:12Oh, man.
23:13All of that flooring here and what goes through to the other side,
23:16all the other side of the house and this and in the bar,
23:18it's all from the local church.
23:20On my walk around, I was touching the beams.
23:22I was looking at the floor and I said,
23:24something's coming to this property from this woodwork.
23:27Yeah.
23:29There we go.
23:30So potentially the spirit of this John character is here.
23:33Attached to the timbers here.
23:35Yeah.
23:36His energy.
23:39How did he die?
23:40The rumour was that she killed him using pigeon feathers under his pillow.
23:47Emphysema.
23:48It causes a dust.
23:49It's a problem with the lungs.
23:50There was a belief at the time that some kind of bacteria or something
23:54from the feathers would do that.
23:56When I'm like watching TV, I've constantly got like a smell of dust.
24:02Yeah.
24:03But it's constant.
24:04Yeah.
24:05To help rebuild the energy on the board, Louis and Tanya move the planchette in a circular motion.
24:10I think his hair, his presence is really strong.
24:15Okay.
24:16Just come to a stop when you feel it's right.
24:21Guys, guys, guys, it's moving to letters.
24:25It's moving to letters.
24:26It's moving.
24:27I think it went to J.
24:29It's J.
24:30It's John.
24:31Okay.
24:32Thank you, John.
24:34We now understand why you're here and we will continue to talk with you throughout this
24:44evening.
24:45Were you guys, like, feeling that move on its own or what?
24:49How?
24:50It just moved.
24:51Yeah.
24:52Like I say, it was trying to put as least pressure as possible on there.
24:55Can I just close this down now while I just close our eyes?
24:58Yes.
24:59Thank you, guys.
25:00As we don't know who or what may come through this board, it's vital to close it down using
25:06prayer.
25:08We thank our guides, inspirers, helpers, friends and family and loved ones who came down this
25:13evening to look after us.
25:15We also thank John for the communication.
25:20So I think John is definitely somebody we need to further investigate.
25:25I think it would be lovely for you both to know as well why Mum's here.
25:29Is there a specific reason?
25:31So we've got a lot to think about and tonight's investigation is going to be quite challenging
25:35for us.
25:36So we better get cracking.
25:38I think so.
25:39Let's do it.
25:40Thank you both for joining us.
25:41You're welcome.
25:43You're welcome.
25:44We'll see you.
25:45Yeah.
25:46Enjoy.
25:47And once Louis and Tanya have left us for the night, I take Jane and Ian into the nerve
25:52centre to talk them through how I've set up the cameras for tonight's investigation.
25:56Now that was a revealing spirit triggers, wasn't it?
25:59I know.
26:00Really surprising.
26:01We had so much activity early on and of course a strong connection to their mum.
26:05So this is a detached 19th century cottage.
26:08Now I've placed seven fixed infrared cameras across the building.
26:11Starting on the ground floor, camera number one is located in the dining room.
26:15Now this shot is looking directly down the small passageway that links into the living room.
26:20This room's really interesting because of all those timbers.
26:23There's loads of energy bouncing around in there.
26:25And also that little hallway, there's perfume smells, there's smoke and cigar smells.
26:31Camera number two is also in the dining room, but this is giving us a shot of the other entrance.
26:36The third fixed infrared camera is placed in the living room.
26:40This is where we started spirit triggers this evening.
26:43And that's where that chair, it creaked.
26:45The death chair.
26:46Yeah, the death chair.
26:47How spooky is that?
26:48Death chair.
26:49The fourth camera I've placed upstairs on the landing looking down the stairs.
26:53The fifth infrared camera is upstairs in the master bedroom.
26:57This bedroom's interesting because it's above where the smells and all the noises are coming from.
27:03The sixth infrared camera is upstairs in the spare bedroom.
27:08Now I also want to look outside, so I put the last camera outside looking towards the building.
27:15So where should we start tonight?
27:17Why don't we head back into the sitting room because actually we got loads of activity in there, didn't we?
27:22And why don't we try and work out this whole John connection?
27:25That's a good idea.
27:26Alright, let's do it.
27:33I'm convinced I've heard a DVP or direct voice phenomena whilst we were doing the spirit triggers in the living room.
27:40Alright guys, while you're setting up in there, I just want to listen back to the last few recordings.
27:47Yeah.
27:48Alright, you do that.
27:49So while Ian and Jane set up some motion sensors in the living room.
27:56And if there is that mist or smoke, we're going to see that as well, aren't we?
28:01Yeah, yeah.
28:02I listened back to the EVPs I recorded during that session.
28:06Oh, you've got to be kidding me.
28:10Guys?
28:11Yeah?
28:12Yeah?
28:13You've got to come in and listen to this.
28:19Go on now, hold on to the speaker.
28:20Let me just cue this up.
28:21John!
28:26John!
28:27Is that an EVP?
28:28Yeah.
28:30Shit.
28:31Mate.
28:32That's a grade A.
28:33That's so clear though.
28:34That's like someone right up against the microphone.
28:36Nobody.
28:37Nobody's seen John.
28:38So that's given as confirmation that John's here.
28:44John!
28:45No!
28:46I can't believe it.
28:47That's absolutely amazing.
28:49That sent shivers down my spine, that has.
28:52That's brilliant.
28:53Wow.
28:54We have to make contact with this spirit called John.
28:57Yeah.
28:58Okay.
28:59Let's find out more.
29:00Let's go.
29:01Do you want to stand with the recorder in that little passageway?
29:04Just hit the red button in the middle to start recording.
29:10Three, two, one.
29:11Start recording.
29:13This is the centre, as well as the oldest part of the property.
29:19John?
29:21Can you hear my voice?
29:26Why are you in this house?
29:28What happened to your chest?
29:41What's that?
29:43Yeah.
29:45Play that back.
29:47John?
29:51What happened to your chest?
29:55Oh!
29:56Did you hear that then?
29:57That breath?
29:59Like someone's struggling to breathe.
30:00Shit.
30:04Can't play that again.
30:06That took my breath back.
30:09A really struggled breath.
30:11It's not good, that.
30:12What happened to your chest?
30:13Oh!
30:14Do you know what?
30:15That's definitely, that's definitely like an emphysema.
30:16That's a tight, wheezy, like windpipe.
30:17Yeah.
30:18What we have captured there is the sound, or residual sound, of his breathing.
30:32John is trying to communicate, so I begin using a spirit box which sweeps radio frequencies and allows disembodied voices to communicate.
30:49Somebody in the room, guys.
30:52To my left.
30:54It doesn't matter a woman.
30:56Can you tell?
30:57Not yet.
30:58Not yet.
31:02No way!
31:07That scared me.
31:08Where's that, is that on the inside?
31:09I don't know.
31:10Hang on a minute.
31:15The window's closed, yeah?
31:20Where did it?
31:21Or a tap on the window.
31:24I don't know.
31:25What?
31:26Jesus Christ.
31:27That was weird.
31:28Just as you said.
31:29There's somebody here.
31:30There's someone right by you.
31:34Did you hear that?
31:38Who's there?
31:40Can you come forward into this room?
31:42I can hear, like, footsteps.
31:48John, is that you?
31:50John?
31:52John Jocelyn, we think you're here.
31:55If the answer to the question is yes, could you knock once for us, please?
32:03And if the answer is no, knock twice.
32:07There.
32:08There's a knock.
32:09That was a loud knock.
32:10Yeah.
32:11Wow.
32:14And that's in the dining room.
32:18I think it's time for us to move and see whether we can communicate further.
32:21This is where those sounds were coming from and also that kind of breathy sound as well.
32:28Yeah.
32:30What was that?
32:31What the fuck was that?
32:32No, seriously.
32:33Where did that come from?
32:34That was from the window, but that sounded inside.
32:38Can you do that again, please?
32:42Spirit, if that was you, can you knock again?
32:44Can you give us a sign, John, please?
32:53Dare I say it?
32:54Did you just move the chair?
32:56I'm nowhere near the chair.
33:01The chair next to me just moved.
33:06Of its own accord.
33:09I did not see that.
33:10I saw it, but I presumed you did that.
33:12What, this chair?
33:13That chair just moved.
33:14This chair just moved.
33:15It went...
33:16But I'm nowhere near it.
33:17Look, my feet are crossed under my leg.
33:19Look!
33:21Whoa!
33:23What was that?
33:24That chair...
33:25The chair just moved.
33:26That chair moved, and that chair moved.
33:29Okay, okay.
33:30All right, everyone just calm down a minute.
33:32John, what are you trying to tell us here?
33:41That's upstairs.
33:42That's directly above us.
33:43Do you think we should go up?
33:44Shh, shh, shh.
33:45Who's that?
33:46Listen, listen.
33:53You are shitting me.
33:54He's definitely communicating with us, isn't he?
33:56He's definitely trying to reach out.
33:58Wow, this is an intense burst of activity, guys.
34:03Hang on, guys.
34:05It is that.
34:06Look.
34:08Yeah, it's a dull...
34:09It's just not back.
34:13Watch this.
34:19Are you joking?
34:20No.
34:21Do you think you should go upstairs?
34:22What?
34:27We need to investigate the noises upstairs, but I don't fancy it.
34:32Why don't we go upstairs?
34:33I think so.
34:34Why don't you go upstairs on your own?
34:37Okay.
34:38Walk around.
34:39Maybe Jane and I are watching the nerve centre.
34:41Okay.
34:43Right.
34:44Good luck.
34:45We'll be watching.
34:47Once Barry and Jane are in the nerve centre...
34:53Right.
34:54Where is he?
34:56I head upstairs with our camera operator, Adrian.
35:00I'm getting a tightness in my throat.
35:06How are you?
35:07Adrian?
35:08Yes, sir.
35:09Yeah.
35:10Adrian and myself are getting, like, tightnesses in our throat.
35:14Like, our airways are blocking up.
35:19Who's doing that to us?
35:22You're right.
35:24Yeah.
35:26John, if that's you, can you take those conditions away from both of us?
35:31We didn't do this to you.
35:36I think that's a freak.
35:40We're really struggling.
35:44Try and move rooms.
35:46I'm good, eh?
35:49Okay.
35:50I'm just going to now move into the master bedroom.
35:58Who's with us, please?
36:00Ah!
36:04What happened?
36:05What happened to you just then?
36:07Something just grabbed my leg.
36:12Who's doing that?
36:14Someone just grabbed my ankle.
36:22John, I'm coming across.
36:23Are you trying to get me to look out the window?
36:26Do you need me to look out?
36:27I'm looking out.
36:30I'm looking out.
36:40What the shit was that?
36:42Okay, guys.
36:43We've just had the window move.
36:44There's somebody on the staircase.
36:45Are you sure there's nobody downstairs whatsoever?
36:46Listen, I'm 100% sure I can see all the cameras.
36:47There's no one down there.
36:48Did you hear that?
36:49There's somebody in this corner, guys.
36:50There's somebody in the corner of the room with me.
36:51All right, Ian.
36:52We're going to come in.
36:53We'll meet you downstairs in the dining room, and let's kind of bring this all together.
36:58What?
37:03Dude.
37:04What?
37:05There's a fucking feather on the window sill.
37:06Fucking hell, guys.
37:07Yeah.
37:08I'm not.
37:09No, it's fine, you're not.
37:10You're not.
37:11I'm not.
37:12I'm not.
37:13But I'm not.
37:14You're not.
37:15You're not.
37:16I'm not.
37:17You're not.
37:18I'm not.
37:19I'm not.
37:20I'm not.
37:21I'm not.
37:22I'm not.
37:23I'm not.
37:24I'm not.
37:25I'm not.
37:26Fucking hell. Guys, get up here quick.
37:28So we could hear the window rattled, right?
37:31I didn't notice it.
37:33Yeah?
37:33Look on the windowsill.
37:35Look at what?
37:38What?
37:39Oh, shit.
37:39There's a feather.
37:40Sorry?
37:41A feather.
37:44Oh, bloody.
37:45That's grey.
37:46That's a pigeon.
37:48Yeah.
37:49Do you think that's a sign?
37:50Yeah, it is a sign because there was a creek down here
37:53and then all of a sudden the window moved
37:55and then that was there.
37:58You guys were in here all the time.
37:59There was no one else in the building.
38:00Adrian was over there.
38:01When you went to the window, did you see it there?
38:04There was no feather there.
38:05The windows were shut.
38:05It wasn't open like that.
38:06So it's literally just appeared?
38:07Yeah.
38:08That's creepy.
38:10Listen, I think we've pretty much managed to conclude
38:13that John is here, but he's told us
38:16and confirmed how he's died.
38:18There's got to be a connection to the fact
38:20that some of the items that have built the infrastructure
38:24of this property came from the local church
38:26and the local area.
38:28So perhaps they are the magnetic qualities
38:31attracting these spirits.
38:32Let's try and go back downstairs
38:35and communicate with their mother, Pat,
38:38because I think that she is also a prominent spirit
38:41in this property.
38:43I felt Pat close to me throughout the investigation,
38:46but John has dominated the interactions we've had.
38:51I hope she wants to speak to us as well.
38:59As Echovox was successful last time,
39:02I'm using it again.
39:04We got early on in Spirit Triggers
39:05some evidence that she was here.
39:08The windows rattled when you mentioned Pat again.
39:11Did it really?
39:12Yeah.
39:13Pat, can you help us here?
39:15Pat.
39:16Pat.
39:17Pat.
39:18Love.
39:19She said love.
39:20Pat, love.
39:21Pat, we love you.
39:22I believe there's a reason
39:24why Louis' mum Pat's presence is so strong here.
39:27Are you trying to protect your family?
39:34Are all the spirits in this house
39:40aware of each other?
39:44You may be from different timelines,
39:47different eras, different periods,
39:48but do you know
39:49each other are present here in the house?
39:56John?
39:57John!
39:58John!
39:59John!
39:59That was clear.
40:01Brilliant.
40:01Thank you, John.
40:05That was amazing.
40:06He must be the stronger presence.
40:08He is.
40:08He's strong.
40:09Really strong.
40:11That's made me really upset.
40:13That's made me emotional, that.
40:17Would you like us to help you cross over, John?
40:20I think John needs to cross over
40:22so his soul can be at peace
40:24and Louis' mum can live in harmony
40:26with her children,
40:28so I bless the house.
40:30We draw near to thee,
40:32O lovingly Father,
40:34asking that the blessings
40:35may be poured upon this property.
40:37While Jane burns sage to ensure
40:41any residual negative energy
40:43is dispersed.
40:44We know that there's never been
40:46anything in Louis' home
40:47to worry about.
40:50Just souls that have been drawn here
40:52for one reason or another,
40:54including their dear mum.
40:57And we're done.
40:58As dawn breaks,
41:03we invite Louis back into his house
41:06to talk him through
41:07what we found out
41:08in the investigation.
41:12Hello.
41:13Good morning.
41:14How was your night?
41:15Good morning.
41:15Very well, thank you.
41:16It was good.
41:16It was good.
41:17Yeah?
41:17Lots to tell me?
41:19You certainly have.
41:20And I think?
41:21Yes, I think so.
41:22Okay, that sounds good.
41:24So, Louis,
41:25we started off
41:26a spirit trigger session
41:27with yourself.
41:29If you remember rightly,
41:30Ian connected with
41:32a gentleman
41:32who we felt
41:33was called John.
41:35Yeah.
41:35This will blow your mind.
41:37And I actually played this back
41:38and had to call these guys
41:40to hear this
41:41because it was just too good.
41:45What do you make of that?
41:53Well, that was very clear, wasn't it?
41:55Yeah.
41:55That response
41:56wasn't coming to the speaker.
41:58That response was in the ether.
42:00I'll play it again for you.
42:05John.
42:08And it did sound
42:10like a human voice
42:11going, John,
42:12rather than those
42:13electronic sounds.
42:15Is he still here?
42:16Well,
42:17we'll come to that.
42:19Okay.
42:21You look so worried.
42:23No, I feel like
42:24my mum said that's fine
42:25because she'd be able
42:25to sort him out.
42:26I don't mind him staying,
42:28but, you know,
42:29hearing his sort of voice
42:30like that,
42:30I don't really want
42:31to have conversations
42:32with him.
42:33Yeah.
42:34So, after you've left us,
42:36we decided to come back in.
42:38We went into the lounge
42:40and tried to find out
42:41more about John.
42:42And Ian
42:43saw and sensed
42:45a presence
42:46in this little narrow corridor.
42:48I decided to go over
42:50with a voice recorder
42:51and listen to this.
42:54What happened
42:55to your chest?
42:59What do you hear,
43:00do we?
43:02Gasping for breath.
43:03Yeah,
43:04and interesting,
43:05at the time
43:06we replayed this
43:07and we all thought,
43:08oh my God,
43:10that is the sound
43:10of a wheezing chest,
43:12which links in perfectly
43:13with the way
43:14the gentleman died.
43:16But now I'm going
43:17to amplify it slightly
43:18and you're going to hear
43:19the actual word
43:20that was said.
43:24What do you think you hear?
43:26It said murder.
43:27Yeah.
43:28Yeah.
43:29See, I'm not happy about that.
43:31If he's trying to tell me
43:32he's been murdered
43:33and then now he's communicating,
43:35I don't know if I would,
43:37you know,
43:37like him to stay.
43:39Because they weren't murdered
43:39in my house,
43:40they were murdered
43:40in the area,
43:41but for some reason
43:42they're sort of
43:44communicating with me
43:46to let me know
43:47they've been murdered.
43:48What am I meant to do?
43:50Well, that's why we're here.
43:51Yeah.
43:51Yeah.
43:52This prompted us
43:54to leave Ian alone
43:55in your house.
43:57Jane and I decided
43:58to go to the nurse centre
43:59and watch.
44:00There was no one else in here
44:01apart from Ian and Adrian.
44:02I went into the spare room.
44:05Yeah.
44:05I kept hearing voices
44:06and noises
44:07and I was asking for John
44:09to give me a sign,
44:10to give me some more evidence.
44:11And at this point,
44:13myself and Adrian
44:14started choking.
44:15We started feeling like
44:17somebody was pushing
44:18on our chest.
44:19And then,
44:20as I looked at the window,
44:22this
44:23was on the windowsill,
44:26on the inside
44:27of the windowsill,
44:28which is a pigeon fell.
44:31That is quite strange
44:32because
44:33we never opened
44:34that window.
44:35So I can clarify
44:36that wasn't in the window
44:37because I did look
44:38out the window
44:39at first before
44:40I sat on the edge
44:40of the bed
44:41and I asked for
44:42some more evidence
44:42and then I saw this.
44:44So that, to me,
44:46tells me
44:46that John
44:47did pass over
44:49the same way
44:51as the history books
44:52tell us.
44:54Well, I don't think
44:55there's anything
44:55to worry about too much
44:56because your mother
44:57is still here.
44:58All the time
44:59we was investigating,
45:02me personally,
45:03I felt your mum
45:03with me.
45:04We asked a question,
45:06are you trying
45:06to protect your family?
45:08And there was
45:09a nice response.
45:11Are you trying
45:11to protect your family?
45:16Yeah.
45:17We feel that was
45:18your mum trying
45:18to come forward.
45:21Oh.
45:22Your mother is here.
45:23Your mother
45:24made herself known.
45:25Yeah.
45:25And she's a very
45:26protective and lovely,
45:27angelic spirit.
45:29Yeah.
45:29We bless the property.
45:32These guys actually
45:32said prayers
45:33and smudged
45:35and saged the building.
45:36It wasn't the case
45:37that anything needed
45:38banishing necessarily,
45:39Louie.
45:40This is a lovely,
45:41warm family home.
45:42It's literally
45:43just to make sure
45:44that harmony
45:45and balance
45:45is restored.
45:47But of course,
45:48we think there's
45:49just a little job
45:50to do with you
45:51if you're up for that now.
45:53I just feel
45:54I would like to make sure
45:55John's fully gone.
45:56And I just think
45:57it'd be nice
45:58to thank your mum.
45:58Yeah.
45:59As well for helping us.
46:00And it'd be nice
46:02if you would maybe
46:02say a few words
46:03if you're happy.
46:04I'll say a prayer.
46:05We'll move John
46:06to the light
46:07to make sure he's gone.
46:08And then we'll just say
46:09a few words to mum.
46:10Yeah.
46:10I'll start it
46:11and then I'll just look at you
46:12and then you follow
46:13and then we'll finish
46:14and peace and harmonies
46:16in your house.
46:17Lovely.
46:17Yeah.
46:18Good.
46:18Let's do that.
46:28We ask for all the trapped souls
46:30within the four walls
46:33within the building
46:34to come forward.
46:36We ask for John.
46:38We ask of you to go
46:39to be reunited
46:40with your loved ones.
46:44Pat,
46:45we thank you
46:45for being here for us
46:47and helping us.
46:48Hello mum.
46:52If you're there
46:53we're pleased you're here.
46:55We're happy
46:56that you're happy here.
46:57We knew you were anyway
46:58but now it's been confirmed.
47:01We ask of you
47:02to keep that love
47:03and for you to guide
47:05and inspire your family
47:06you've left behind.
47:07For you to watch over them.
47:11In the name of the Father
47:12and the Son
47:12and the Holy Spirit.
47:14Amen.
47:17This has been
47:18an entertaining
47:19and also
47:20an emotional investigation.
47:22You know
47:22he's a great personality
47:23isn't he?
47:24Bless him.
47:24Bless his mum as well.
47:26Yeah.
47:27But who knows
47:28what the next case
47:29will bring.
