00:00Supernatural is on the increase.
00:02Leave me alone.
00:04Scared. What was that?
00:07Even our favorite celebrities' homes are plagued by paranormal activity.
00:12What do you think you're here?
00:14Thankfully, there are three people who can help.
00:18Dark arts specialist Ian Lawman is an ordained exorcist and medium.
00:22In the name of Jesus Christ, tell me your name.
00:26Paranormal researcher Jane Harris is a psychologist and historian.
00:30Behind.
00:32Investigator Barry Guy is the technical expert.
00:36Affect me now.
00:37Together, they're investigating celebrity homes.
00:40John!
00:41I'm going, I'm going.
00:42Gathering evidence and communicating with spirits.
00:46What the?
00:48What the?
00:50Doing whatever it takes to return their homes back to the hands of the living.
00:56And we're calling.
01:06Coming up.
01:08What?
01:10What?
01:11A plagued celebrity.
01:13It went from right to left, which is freaking us out.
01:17Alerted to a suspicious suicide.
01:20Two ladies were found with their throats slicked.
01:25They're not.
01:26Stirs lost souls.
01:28Wife!
01:29Oh, my God.
01:30It was a mistake killing your wife.
01:34Causing high emotions.
01:36Team, we're currently in Wilmslow, and we're heading to our next case.
01:46This is celebrity central, isn't it?
01:48It is.
01:49Not only is Wilmslow in Cheshire home to soap stars and premiership footballers, but also one of the most important Iron Age finds in the UK.
01:59A prehistoric man was preserved in the peat bogs near here for over 2,000 years.
02:06So who knows who we could be meeting, right?
02:08Right.
02:10The team have been called in to investigate reports of paranormal activity by the owner of this six-bedroom property.
02:19Are we going crazy, or is the house haunted? I guess we shall soon find out.
02:24It's the home of actor Simon Gregson and family.
02:27Simon is best known for playing Steve McDonald in the long-running TV soap, Coronation Street.
02:32Originally, the house was in two parts. There was the main house, which we're in now, but the other part of the house has a big tower.
02:40So I think that part of the house goes back quite a long way, and it's spooky.
02:49So the first time I saw the lady in white, we were in the midst of having the house renovated, and we were living in the tower area of the house.
02:59I was laying in my bedroom upstairs, and I saw what I thought was Emma at first, but it went from right to left across one of the landings upstairs.
03:11Alfie, my eldest son, has had a lot of activity in his bedroom.
03:16He's seen the lady in white on the landing, looking down, reading what looked like a small book, and he's seen somebody poke round the corner.
03:25I want you to, A, find out what we've got, B, if they need help, can you help them move on?
03:32Because not only is it freaking us out, I'm worried about Alfie especially, because he's getting the most activity, so I don't want him to be frightened in his own bedroom.
03:42So please come and move them on out.
03:48How are you feeling, Ian?
03:49I'm feeling quite nervous.
03:52I just feel there may be a little sinister twist to the house.
03:56I always get excited before you walk around.
03:59Obviously, Jane and I know a little bit about the case, and we've done our research and things, but you don't know anything?
04:04No.
04:06Medium Ian insists on being told nothing about the investigation in advance, so he knows it's only his psychic abilities that are guiding him.
04:15Do you get nervous, Ian?
04:17I do in some cases, yes, I do.
04:20I'm just a little bit anxious today because there's just something, what I can't get my head around.
04:25I just feel quite emotional. My eyes are watering.
04:29You're tearful.
04:32Yeah, I feel tearful.
04:36We're here, guys. This is it.
04:45It's a big property.
04:47Yeah. It looks like it may have been two.
04:51There's just something about the house that makes me feel uncomfortable.
04:54Hmm.
04:55Well, I'm going to meet the homeowner's wife, who has had a pretty scary experience here.
05:00Neil's story has apparently uncovered something about this location, yeah, so I'm off to meet him.
05:07OK. I'll see you later then, guys. I'm going to have a little walk around, OK?
05:10All right, good luck, mate.
05:11See you later.
05:15Hello?
05:18I feel drawn in there, so I'm going to walk this way.
05:21Hello?
05:25The temperature's dropped in this particular part of the building is immense.
05:30You can feel it. It's freezing.
05:34I could hear something then.
05:38It's like footsteps.
05:39I hate this part of the house.
05:47Hello? My name's Ian.
05:50Do you know, the easiest way to explain it is, it's almost like there's a death linked to this property.
05:56I've come to meet historian Neil's story to find out more about the local area.
06:04The property that we're investigating has some specific activity.
06:10They all see a lady in a white dress in the house, so have you got any idea who that could be, Neil?
06:15I think I have.
06:16There was an event known as the Wilmslow Horror that took place in 1893.
06:22There was a man called William Worth, his wife Susannah, both in their late 30s, lived in a place called Lindo Common.
06:29And Lindo Common is just there.
06:31The property that you're investigating, I believe it's around about here.
06:37Oh, right.
06:38And that's where the Worths lived, with Mrs Worth's daughter.
06:42Now, we think she was probably illegitimate or from a previous relationship.
06:48Her name is Sarah Anne Frost.
06:50She was 19 years old.
06:52Both the mother and the daughter, well, they were found horribly murdered.
06:57They declared it a suicide, I think it was murder, in their night dresses.
07:04The mother had gone to sleep with the daughter.
07:07The daughter, everybody said in the village, oh, she looks pregnant.
07:11But they wouldn't admit it.
07:13I think she'd come back in disgrace.
07:16This is William Worth's account.
07:18Come in the morning, he goes into the room, and there are the daughter and the mother,
07:23both with their throats slashed with a razor.
07:28Oh, God, that's made me get cold.
07:31Have you ever seen one of these?
07:33Yes, I have.
07:35That's a cutthroat razor.
07:37It certainly is.
07:39By the bed, there was a note.
07:42Oh, my God, a note?
07:44Yeah, or a notebook, which contained instructions on what was to be done with their bodies.
07:50That's really bizarre.
07:54The apparitions that are seen in the house, the lady in the white dress, she is carrying something.
07:59Now, this has been described as a book, or a notebook.
08:03It could be the note.
08:05Neither woman was given any sign of being suicidal.
08:08There's definitely something really weird going on in this area here.
08:14It's just a really distant cry.
08:17Hello?
08:19The further I walk into this direction, the louder that baby crying, or that small child.
08:25It's sending shivers down my spine. It's quite sinister, that.
08:31I'm seeing blood.
08:33That's making me feel quite sick.
08:36The crying seems to be getting louder.
08:40But it's crying from an adult, and that's getting really loud.
08:46But it's a female at this point.
08:49I've already learnt about Sarah and her mother Susanna being found in bed, side by side with their throat slit.
08:56But there's more to this tragic story than meets the eye.
08:59Why?
09:00It is the most sinister of all the twists.
09:04Because the body of the baby was found.
09:07This had to be investigated.
09:10What, found in the house, or found nearby?
09:13They had to bring in bloodhounds.
09:15Oh, my God.
09:17There is a heavy, large flagstone that they had to lift.
09:22They then had to dig down about two or three feet, and there they found the body of a newborn female child.
09:33So you've got two ladies in night attire, both with their throats slashed, and you've got a body of a baby.
09:43Wow.
09:46Thanks, Neil.
09:47I think.
09:50Hello?
09:52Wow.
09:53Somebody just said something.
09:57Could you try and talk to me?
09:59Who are you?
10:01Why are you here?
10:03Who are you looking for?
10:06There's just something not right with me.
10:08It's almost as if this female has gone crazy.
10:15And I'm kind of worried that the crying, because it was quite a sinister cry, has this female done something to a child?
10:29I'm meeting up with Simon's wife, Emma, who's experienced first-hand some of the paranormal activity in their home.
10:37I've heard that you have experienced something quite scary in your own house.
10:42Yeah.
10:43Tell me what you saw.
10:44Do you only sit there when you think, I've just seen somebody walk past, but there was nobody there.
10:47And then I see, like, a white figure in the entrance to my little boy's room all the time.
10:52A white figure?
10:53A white figure.
10:54OK, what, was it like a mist or a smoke or...?
10:56No, so it was kind of like an outline of what looked like a person, really, in, like, a long dress.
11:03So a female?
11:04Yeah, a female.
11:05It wasn't very big, so I would say that she was probably my height, which is probably about five foot three, something like that.
11:11This female apparition, did she glide, did she move, did she disappear?
11:15She stood still.
11:16Oh, my God, that is even creepier.
11:20Describe whereabouts in the house that you saw this.
11:23So there's, like, two stairs going up to my son's room.
11:26Yeah.
11:27It's always kind of in that walkway.
11:28So on the landing, is it?
11:29Yeah.
11:30And is that the same place that Simon saw it as well?
11:32Yeah.
11:34Ah, this looks like a child's bedroom.
11:38I feel quite uncomfortable in this room.
11:41But I feel this woman would appear here.
11:45I just see her just stood there.
11:48But then, the more I tune in and look onto that landing area,
11:54I do feel a male's energy here as well.
11:57And maybe he's got a link with his female somehow.
12:04So, Emma, obviously, you've seen stuff, Simon's seen stuff.
12:06You mentioned the children, and they've experienced lots of different things taking place.
12:10in the house.
12:11But specifically, what have they seen and experienced?
12:14So my eldest, Alfie, seems to have more communication with whatever is around than most of us.
12:23Right.
12:24He says, we've seen the woman in white.
12:26Right.
12:27The one that I've seen.
12:29But the one that he sees, I think, has dark hair.
12:33So, potentially, there's two different spirits here.
12:34Essentially, yeah.
12:36It's interesting, but also a little bit more sinister, because you don't know the motives of either of them.
12:41Oh.
12:42It's so weird when you walk around a property, and you get that lightness, then all of a sudden you step into one room and you get that darkness.
12:59That feeling of something quite sinister.
13:03Do you know the worrying thing is?
13:06This lady is crazy.
13:08She could do anything to any one of us.
13:11And if I'm perfectly honest with you, that does scare me.
13:13Now we've all finished our initial investigations, it's time for the celebrity to reveal themselves to Ian.
13:23Hi, guys.
13:24You all right?
13:25Wow, interesting.
13:26There he is.
13:27Hi.
13:28Hiya, nice to meet you.
13:29Nice to meet you.
13:30Hi, mate, hi.
13:31Hi Ian, nice to meet you.
13:32Thank you so much for letting me look around this amazing place.
13:34It is haunted, I can tell you.
13:36Wow.
13:37OK, great.
13:38I'll tell you more when we go inside.
13:39I just cannot tell you how excited I am to have you here.
13:42Come on, let's crack on, shall we?
13:43Yeah, sure.
13:44Let's go inside.
13:45We're going to begin the spirit trigger session in Simon's living room.
13:50So before we get started, I want to tell you all about something known as the Wilmslow Tragedy.
13:57Now this happened in 1893.
13:59Literally a stone's throw from your house.
14:01OK.
14:02OK.
14:03There was suicide or a murder, we don't know.
14:06Two ladies, mother and stepdaughter, were found in white nightdresses with their throats slit.
14:15That is really peculiar, isn't it?
14:18Emma told me about the female apparition that you've seen and she's seen wearing a white dress.
14:25Mm-hmm.
14:26I saw shadows just shoot past onto the landing and that's why I saw the female as well.
14:31Always see stuff on the landing at the corner of your eye, always.
14:34There's another really bizarre connection with this.
14:39Simon, I believe you've used paranormal equipment before in the house, haven't you?
14:43And have you had a name come through?
14:45Yeah.
14:46Sarah.
14:47The young girl that was found with her throat cut was called Sarah Anne.
14:52No way.
14:53Well, look, let's get cracking.
14:55I want to try an EVP experiment here now with you, Simon.
14:59So we'll use our digital voice recorders and I would like you to call out.
15:04Hello, this is Simon.
15:07I have tried to speak to you before now.
15:11I'm just wondering if you're here now.
15:13I have the name Sarah or Sarah.
15:16Did you just say that?
15:19I heard a whisper there.
15:21That was a yes.
15:22Play that back.
15:23I'm just wondering if you're here before now.
15:25I'm just wondering if you're here before now.
15:26There's something there.
15:27I'm just wondering if you're here before now.
15:29Yeah?
15:30What does it say?
15:31Like, well, like a...
15:32No.
15:33No.
15:34No.
15:35No.
15:36I tried to speak to you before now.
15:38No!
15:39Oh, my God!
15:40No way!
15:41No way!
15:42No way!
15:43So...
15:44She knows.
15:45You've tried to speak to her before.
15:48As the lady in white seems to know Simon and his family are here, maybe Emma can help
15:53us connect with her or any other spirits lingering in the property.
15:57Would you mind calling her for us?
15:59Yeah, sure.
16:00Boss!
16:01Yeah?
16:02Come join.
16:03Hi, Emma.
16:04Have a seat.
16:05Have a seat.
16:06Hi, lovely.
16:07I'd like to try an ITC application with you guys to see whether or not we can get any
16:10conversation going with this spirit.
16:12We're going to use Echovox, an app which creates words from a phonetic bank of sounds.
16:19Hello?
16:21Is there anybody here that would like to communicate?
16:27No.
16:28No.
16:29No.
16:30No.
16:31No.
16:32OK.
16:33There's a spirit here.
16:34Sarah?
16:35Sarah?
16:36Can you hear me?
16:39Just say something for us.
16:45I've gone all cold.
16:47Yeah.
16:48Have you?
16:49Yeah.
16:50Just explain that coldness.
16:51The hair's sticking up on my back.
16:54OK.
16:55Please can you tell me your name?
16:57Yeah.
17:03What?
17:04Can I tell you something?
17:05Are you recording this?
17:07Because I think I just heard Sarah.
17:09I think you're right.
17:11Shall I put that last part back?
17:12Yeah.
17:13Jane, you know I kind of said something as you did.
17:15Go on.
17:16This female was stood there with her hands out like this, looking at you Emma.
17:21Looking at me?
17:23OK.
17:24Yeah.
17:25And then you just thought you could hear Sarah or Sarah?
17:28Yeah.
17:29Please can you tell me your name?
17:32It's...
17:37Yeah, Sarah.
17:38Can you tell us your name?
17:39I actually heard it in the background.
17:41Can you hear that?
17:42What a spoken voice said it in the background.
17:43It's kind of...
17:44It kind of went, it's Sarah.
17:45Yeah.
17:46Let me listen back.
17:47It's the most interesting...
17:49I can hear it now.
17:50Listen.
17:54It's out there, yeah.
17:55Can you hear it really?
17:56They fade in the background.
17:57That didn't come out of here.
17:58No, no, it didn't.
17:59That's amazing.
18:00OK.
18:01Ooh.
18:02There is definitely spirit here.
18:04And they are trying to communicate, but it seems like there are multiple energies coming through.
18:08I've got an idea.
18:09I've got an idea.
18:10Why don't we split?
18:11If I take Simon up to that small room there in the tower.
18:16Good idea.
18:17The one that everyone's afraid of.
18:19And we try the spirit box.
18:20Yeah.
18:21And perhaps you sit here with Emma and you call out the questions.
18:25A spirit box generates a wide noise frequency, allowing disembodied voices to communicate.
18:31This is the spooky room, isn't it?
18:33Yeah.
18:34This is the spooky part of the whole house.
18:36But will the spirits provide the answers to Emma's questions?
18:40Guys, I'm ready when you are.
18:42Are you the lady that I've been seeing?
18:48I would really like to communicate with you if you let me.
18:53Hey?
18:54Who did that?
18:55What the hell was that?
18:56I don't know.
18:57Where did that come from?
18:58Somewhere over there.
18:59Did you hear that?
19:00Yeah.
19:01It was like a whistle.
19:05Is that how you get in the distance?
19:11Now the dog's kicking off.
19:12Yeah.
19:13That's really weird.
19:14It's got quite a strange feeling up here.
19:19When it's dark and you come here.
19:22What was that?
19:24Shall I keep asking questions?
19:26Can you ask if they're OK?
19:27Because that person's with them.
19:29Barry, are you both OK up there?
19:31Because Ian's sensing that there is someone with you.
19:34You always feel as though you've been watched in here.
19:38Are you hearing there a sound that's almost like a train or like a rush of air?
19:47We've just heard about four or five knocked taps all in succession on what sounded like above us.
19:55Oh, those taps knocking noises.
19:57Just ask Simon how he's feeling, just for curiosity.
19:59Simon, how are you feeling physically in that room at the moment?
20:04I've got a tickly cough out of nowhere.
20:07That was really freaky.
20:09Well, that person's still with Simon because I can see them stood there.
20:12So they're still there.
20:13I don't feel like a relay.
20:16Really?
20:17I really do.
20:18I feel like there's someone here.
20:21Hi.
20:23I see somebody with a hand on Simon's left shoulder so they're stood to his left.
20:29The processor just rebooted itself.
20:41That's great.
20:44It's an error.
20:46For no reason.
20:48Whilst we've been feeling we're not alone in this room,
20:51the spirit box has suddenly stopped working.
20:54Someone is trying to make their presence known.
20:59Is there a draught in here?
21:01I've been feeling since we got here a draught going across my hand.
21:04No, seriously.
21:05But I'm used to this place being cold anyway.
21:09It feels like it's here to me.
21:12But why a draught?
21:14It is significantly colder in this part of the building.
21:17Oh, yeah.
21:18This room does seriously give me the creeps though.
21:21Did you breathe out?
21:24Did you hear something?
21:25Yeah.
21:26Did you?
21:29Oh, I'm recording.
21:30Okay.
21:31Well, that's interesting because she's communicating with me.
21:33That's good.
21:34What was that?
21:35What did it again?
21:36It's like...
21:37Is that what you could hear?
21:38No, before it was a yeah, but I heard that sound earlier.
21:40As I said, she's communicating with me.
21:45What did you hear?
21:47Well, a bit higher than that, a bit higher pitched.
21:52Fuck that.
21:53What was that?
21:55That was insane.
21:56You heard that, yeah?
21:58That was like...
22:01And that came from up there?
22:02That came from there.
22:04I don't want to go up there.
22:05I don't want to go up there.
22:07Oh, my God, that's weird.
22:09Guys, we're going to make our way down.
22:10We've just had an experience up here we need to tell you about.
22:15We literally heard what sounded like someone knocking, but from the ceiling area.
22:20And breathing.
22:21We've had three breaths of that.
22:22We've got breathing and we've got voices here.
22:24Yeah.
22:26Yeah, we've got us here.
22:27I could sense gurgling in her throat and that's when you were coughing.
22:32We have got so much to do this evening.
22:34We not only need to understand who the lady in white is, we need to work out, are there one, two other spirits?
22:40Yeah.
22:41Who are they? Why are they here?
22:43It's been fascinating so far.
22:44Good luck.
22:46And once Simon and Emma have left us for the night,
22:51I take Jane and Ian into the nerve centre to talk them through how I've set up the cameras for tonight's investigation.
22:57Well, guys, what a revealing spirit triggers that was.
23:00What do you think?
23:01Yeah, well, we got the name, didn't we?
23:02Sarah or Sarah.
23:04It's a great start.
23:05Yeah.
23:06Well, this is a large six-bedroom detached property and I've used all eight fixed infrared cameras.
23:11So, starting on the ground floor, camera number one is located in the living room.
23:15That's where we began spirit triggers this evening.
23:18I've placed camera number two in the kitchen.
23:20Now, this is a great shot looking down towards the living room area and also the entrance to the building.
23:25Hmm.
23:26I've positioned camera number three downstairs looking directly at the stairwell that leads up to what the family call the tower.
23:33And that's a really strange place because when I walked upstairs it was like somebody was pushing me back.
23:39Fourth camera is upstairs in the tower bedroom.
23:41Now, this is a room that the family all dislike.
23:44They feel oppressed, they feel it's cold.
23:46There's definitely something going on there.
23:48And that's a really spooky room.
23:51Camera number five is downstairs looking up towards the main flight of stairs leading to the landing on the first floor.
23:57I've positioned camera number six upstairs on the landing.
24:00Now, this is a particular hotspot area where the female apparition has been seen.
24:04Camera number seven is upstairs in Harry's bedroom.
24:07Now, this used to be Simon and Emma's master bedroom and it's the room where they saw this female apparition.
24:13And that's where I felt loads of emotion.
24:16I've positioned the final camera upstairs in Alfie's bedroom.
24:19Now, Alfie has seen the lady up there on the landing but also someone or something peering around the corner looking at him.
24:26Yeah, and I sensed a female in there but on the landing area you could see shadows running back and forth.
24:31All right.
24:32Well, I think we should head in there and get started.
24:34All right, come on.
24:39The landing is a paranormal hotspot so we begin our investigation there.
24:45Can you come forward and let us know you're here?
24:47I'm using the Alice box, a psychokinetic instrumental transcommunication device that allows spirits to speak.
24:57What's that?
24:58Stay.
24:59Stay?
25:00Stay.
25:01Would you like us to stay?
25:05Correct.
25:06Oh, wow!
25:08No!
25:09Yeah, so she wants us to stay.
25:11Oh, my God.
25:12Right, thank you.
25:13Can you try and tell us your story, Sarah?
25:16What happened to you?
25:17No one can.
25:20What?
25:21Clairvoyant.
25:22Oh, wow!
25:23Okay, I'm talking to you.
25:24She knows.
25:28What?
25:29Holy man.
25:31Holy man.
25:32Holy man.
25:33That's you.
25:36Thank you very much.
25:39I don't know, I could hear that.
25:40Did you hear?
25:42Chills.
25:43Chills!
25:44It's kicking off.
25:45So, you got a breath and it says chill, so they've gave you the chills.
25:50Keep talking to us, please.
25:52What did you just say, Jane?
25:53Pardon?
25:54What did you just say?
25:55She didn't say anything.
25:56I didn't say anything.
25:57Did you just say something under your breath?
25:59No.
26:00I don't think so.
26:01Seriously?
26:02No, she didn't.
26:03You better play that back.
26:04There was a lady who just said something.
26:06It sounded like you.
26:07What did she say?
26:08I have no idea, but it was two, three words.
26:10You've got a breath and it says chill, so they've gave you the chills.
26:15Keep talking.
26:16There.
26:17What does that say?
26:18That's what I heard.
26:19Keep talking.
26:20What?
26:21What?
26:22Can you listen?
26:23Three words.
26:24That's not you, is it?
26:25No.
26:26No, I'll put it there.
26:27Keep talking.
26:28Did kill.
26:29Oh, fuck.
26:30It's did kill.
26:31She did do it then.
26:33We need to get that.
26:35We need to know that that's bang on.
26:36Yeah.
26:37Why did you kill your baby?
26:39What?
26:40What?
26:41No!
26:42What?
26:43What did that say?
26:44I've got to play that back.
26:45I'm sure that said...
26:46What the...
26:47What the...
26:48What did that say?
26:49That said behind you.
26:50Right, let's just play that back.
26:51How did you kill your baby?
26:52I'm not sure that said behind you.
26:53What the...
26:54What the...
26:55What did that say?
26:56That said behind you.
26:57Right, let's just play that back.
26:59How did you kill your baby?
27:01Oh, Graham.
27:02That!
27:03That!
27:04That!
27:05That!
27:06What the hell did that say?
27:08Play that again.
27:09There.
27:10Behind you!
27:12What?
27:14I'm back.
27:15Play it back.
27:16Did you kill your baby?
27:18Behind you?
27:23Behind you?
27:24Behind you?
27:25Behind you?
27:26Behind who?
27:27I don't know.
27:28You?
27:29I was stood there.
27:30Behind you.
27:31Oh, my God, that's creepy.
27:32All the hairs on the back of my neck are standing up right now.
27:35I think this may be Sarah, but we need to get some cast-iron proof.
27:41Three, two, one, recording again.
27:45Did we just hear you?
27:48Said.
27:49What was that?
27:51There's a lot of stuff going on here.
27:53Let's just play that back.
27:55Did we just hear you?
27:58You did.
27:59Oh!
28:00Yeah, play it again.
28:01Fire.
28:02You did.
28:03Did we just hear you?
28:07It says you did.
28:08It does, doesn't it?
28:09Yeah, it does.
28:10OK.
28:11We have captured some incredible EVPs in a very short space of time.
28:17So, we regrouped downstairs in the kitchen to review what we found out.
28:23Remember that DVP on the landing that we thought said, I did kill her?
28:27Mm-hmm.
28:28Yeah.
28:29Well, I've been listening over and over again, and I think it might say, I didn't kill her.
28:33Oh, wow.
28:34OK.
28:35I've gave you the chills.
28:37Keep talking to us, please, horse.
28:40Keep talking to us, please, horse.
28:43Keep talking to us.
28:45Hmm.
28:46See, it does sound like I did kill her.
28:49The more I listened to it, I thought at first, I didn't, but now, I did kill her, I didn't
28:54kill her.
28:55Yeah.
28:56We still need to get validation about that.
28:58And also, who's saying that?
29:00Yeah.
29:01Is it Sarah or is it someone else?
29:02Her mother as well is potentially around and involved in this, Susannah.
29:07Susannah.
29:08Why don't I act as a trigger?
29:12Why don't I go into that room alone?
29:15Mm-hmm.
29:16I have brought with me a long white nightdress.
29:19Ah.
29:20Maybe, in some way, recreating that scene with the cutthroat razor next to the bed.
29:25Yeah.
29:26I'm going to carry out an experiment known as the Singapore Theory to try and tempt
29:32either Sarah, Susannah or even William to communicate.
29:36So, Jane's on her own in the building.
29:41She's taking the camera with her while Ian and I monitor from the nerve centre.
29:49She's about to head into Harry's room, I believe, which was Simon and Emma's old bedroom.
29:54Yeah.
29:55Two.
29:56Two.
29:57Two.
29:58Two.
29:59Two spirits.
30:00Possibly.
30:01What?
30:02I was just about to ask how many spirits are here with me now.
30:04Brilliant.
30:05Two.
30:06Possibly.
30:07Oh, my God.
30:08Yeah.
30:09Susannah, you were found in your nightdress like this.
30:12You were lying on the bed and you were dead.
30:17Your throat had been slit.
30:19Who did that?
30:20It's a very powerful act.
30:22Very much so.
30:23Hurt.
30:24Hurt.
30:25Hurt.
30:26Hurt.
30:27It's obviously working.
30:28The experiment's working.
30:29It was hurt.
30:30That was just as I picked this off.
30:32I can feel somebody walking into the room with her.
30:34I need to know.
30:35Don't tell her.
30:36Let's just wait and see how she reacts to that.
30:38What is this?
30:39And he's stood in the room with her.
30:40Whoa.
30:43She knows he's there.
30:45She just looked round and said hello.
30:47Oh!
30:48Will!
30:49Will.
30:50Yeah, there you go.
30:51Are you joking?
30:52Harry, we've got Will.
30:53Just now tell her what I said.
30:55Ian wants me to tell you that he sensed the male presence in the doorway moments before
30:59you turned around.
31:01What was that?
31:04She's heard something.
31:05Yeah.
31:06Hello?
31:07She's gone out into the hallway.
31:08Yeah.
31:09I heard a man.
31:10William Worth, are you in this house?
31:11Do you think Will is the spirit that Alfie sees poking his head round?
31:23100%.
31:24Yeah.
31:25Yeah.
31:26So what we need to know is, did he kill...
31:28Yeah.
31:29...the girls?
31:31Whoa!
31:32She's felt something.
31:33What was that noise then?
31:35This is ridiculous.
31:37How do people live in this house?
31:39Mistake.
31:40Mistake.
31:41Mistake.
31:42Mistake.
31:43Mistake.
31:44Mistake.
31:45Mistake.
31:46Mistake?
31:47Do you regret taking lives?
31:51Wife.
31:52Wife.
31:53Wife.
31:54Wife.
31:55Wife.
31:56Wow.
31:57Oh, my God.
31:58Brilliant.
31:59It was a mistake killing your wife.
32:02They were both in white nightdresses lying in the bed together.
32:06Did he go in, in the dark, not knowing that his wife had gone in
32:11to sleep with the daughter?
32:13Did he accidentally kill his wife first?
32:17So you think he might have tried to just kill his daughter
32:20because of the infant?
32:21Yeah.
32:22Yeah.
32:23William.
32:24Do you regret killing your wife?
32:31Did you hear that?
32:32No.
32:33No, what was it?
32:34A massive yes.
32:36Like, yes!
32:38Fuck.
32:39Why didn't we hear that?
32:41We didn't hear anything.
32:42We're gonna come in, we're gonna listen to her.
32:44Okay.
32:47Coming on up, Jane.
32:48Okay.
32:49Do you regret killing your wife?
32:55Yeah.
32:56Yes.
32:57That is clear.
32:58Really clear.
32:59But do you know what's weird?
33:00That sounds like someone going, yeah, on the mic, but actually
33:03it sounded to me like a, yeah.
33:05It sounded really loud to you.
33:06It was loud to me.
33:08Wow.
33:09I wonder if it's all about William needing forgiveness for what he did.
33:16What he did.
33:17We've not been to the tower.
33:19Whilst killing his stepdaughter Sarah, William may have mistakenly murdered his wife.
33:25To find out more, we're heading to the tower, a room the whole Gregson family hate.
33:31God, this room's creepy.
33:33I know.
33:35I've brought the Structured Light Sensor Camera, or SLS, which uses infrared light to capture
33:41spirit presences invisible to the naked eye.
33:44I'll just sit on the stairs, and I'll just record while I try and capture an EVP's.
33:53Show yourself to us, please.
33:55There's a figure.
33:57Looks like it's sitting on the box next to you.
34:00Well, I feel really funny here.
34:02To your right, Ian.
34:07It almost looks like there's a small person sat up there.
34:13Really?
34:14During Spirit Triggers with Simon, we heard this knocking noise, tapping noise that came from around that area.
34:22Who's here?
34:23Who's here?
34:24It's gone.
34:27I feel there's somebody here.
34:30Oh, my ears.
34:31Are you okay?
34:32Phew.
34:33Here.
34:34Can we...
34:35Ian, are you okay?
34:37Something, or someone, seems to be affecting Ian.
34:42He's gone quiet, Jane.
34:43Okay.
34:44Maybe don't speak to Ian.
34:45Maybe call out to the spirit that's affecting Ian.
34:57I'm speaking to the spirit, the energy that's connecting with Ian.
35:02Yeah, William.
35:05William, is that you?
35:08It's me.
35:10The moment Ian is channelling the spirit of William.
35:16But he didn't intend to.
35:18Why are you still here?
35:19I didn't mean to do it.
35:25I just killed her.
35:27She had a fatherless baby.
35:29Who?
35:30Your stepdaughter or your wife?
35:32Sarah.
35:33Did you kill Sarah?
35:35I just had two.
35:37I didn't mean to.
35:39She was laid there.
35:41And I came in.
35:43And I grabbed her hair.
35:46I'd just cut her throat.
35:48And she started screaming.
35:51And she struggled.
35:54And I had to slit her throat, too.
35:58I didn't mean to kill my wife.
36:01I was humiliated.
36:04Brought shame.
36:05They bring shame on you.
36:08Sarah did.
36:10Can you feel?
36:12What I feel?
36:15I feel sick.
36:22Feel my pain.
36:26You alright, Pastor? Feel sick?
36:28It's as though William, who is channelling through Ian,
36:32is now projecting his heartache and guilt onto Barry.
36:36Jane, you swap. I don't feel good.
36:38Yeah.
36:40Feel my pain.
36:45I feel really sick.
36:47You can feel my pain.
36:51As I leave the room, the emotion is overwhelming.
36:56What can we do, William?
37:00I need to see my life.
37:01Yeah.
37:03So do you want forgiveness?
37:05I need to see her.
37:09She is here somewhere around, still.
37:13She hasn't crossed over either.
37:16After a moment away from the room in the tower, I managed to regain my composure, determined to make things right.
37:26William, what you did was unimaginable.
37:29You murdered two people.
37:32Yeah.
37:35Step back.
37:37Allow Ian to come forward.
37:42The emotional imprint left by such an act is so strong.
37:46Mm-hmm.
37:47It's stained this land and this house.
37:53But it's not up to us.
37:55The maker will decide what needs to be done.
38:00It's praying for the dead.
38:02Yeah.
38:03Yeah.
38:05I'm going to ask each of the lost souls to step forward to show them the light.
38:10Only once they've passed through, will they then be judged.
38:14We pray, dear Father, for you to judge these people who walk before you.
38:20We ask for William, please step forward.
38:23We ask for Susanna, please come forward.
38:27I ask for that light to shine upon you.
38:30And we ask for Sarah or Sarah also to step forward.
38:36We ask of you to walk through into that light,
38:40where you individually will be greeted by your loved ones who have passed on before you.
38:46You'll meet your maker.
38:49We also pray, Father, for all the conditions, the sadness and the remorse and the anger
38:54and the suffering to be lifted from this property.
39:05As dawn breaks, we invite Simon back into his house
39:09to talk him through what we found out in our investigation.
39:12Good morning.
39:13Good morning.
39:14How are you?
39:15Come hobbling in.
39:16How did you sleep?
39:17All right.
39:18Probably better than you guys.
39:20Yes.
39:21You weren't going mad.
39:23Haunted it most certainly is.
39:26Simon, if you remember, we started Spirit Triggers in the front room here.
39:29Yeah.
39:30We did get a few responses.
39:31I just want to play you this one first.
39:34Hello.
39:35This is Simon.
39:37I have tried to speak to you before now and just...
39:43Now, we heard that at the time, didn't we?
39:45Mm-hmm.
39:46But that, to me, was a sign that there is something intelligent
39:49listening and responding to your question.
39:52We decided to go up to the landing.
39:55Wow.
39:56Within the space of an hour, we caught more evidence and more validation than we ever have.
40:02It was quite bizarre, actually, because we were using a device called the Alice Box.
40:07The theory being that when spirits project their responses into the ether,
40:12the device can detect those responses and they appear on the screen.
40:15So, when they all make sense and they're all relevant, then it's quite rare.
40:20OK.
40:21We got a response that said clairvoyant as Ian was talking.
40:25No way.
40:26Yeah.
40:27It was followed up almost immediately with this one.
40:29Holy man.
40:31Holy man.
40:32Holy man.
40:33And I'm ordained.
40:34No way.
40:35Wow.
40:36That's too much of it.
40:37So, she clearly knew what was going on.
40:38Yeah.
40:39Wow.
40:40That's amazing.
40:41Jane was speaking and I again heard another response.
40:45Listen to this.
40:46So, you've got a breath and it says chill, so they've given you the chills.
40:51Keep talking to us, please.
40:53Keep talking to us, Jills.
40:56I didn't kill her.
41:00Keep talking to us, Jills.
41:02Keep talking to...
41:03Can you hear it?
41:04Yes.
41:05Yes.
41:06Yes.
41:07Oh, my God.
41:08Now, this was a key point for us because at this stage we didn't know whether William had
41:13killed his wife and daughter or, as was believed to be the case, after a trial, her mother actually
41:21killed her and then killed herself.
41:23You can't cut your own throat.
41:24It was a suicide.
41:25You literally can't do it, can you?
41:26Yeah, yeah, no.
41:27This was confirmation for us that it's a female voice and she's saying, I didn't kill her.
41:32Wow.
41:33That's incredible.
41:34And we got another one and it came from behind Jane.
41:39Right.
41:40Check this out.
41:47Who are you?
41:48Behind you.
41:49That's what I think this is.
41:50Behind you.
41:51Oh, yeah, behind you, yeah.
41:53Yeah.
41:54Yeah.
41:55It's...
41:56Oh, I'm just taking this in.
41:59Wow.
42:00How does it make you feel?
42:01This is your house.
42:02You're living here.
42:03I'm kind of jealous I wasn't there.
42:04It was amazing.
42:08It was.
42:09Yeah.
42:10Yowzers.
42:11This is incredible.
42:12Do you think that's why she's still here?
42:13Because she needs people to know it wasn't her that did it.
42:16It's unfinished.
42:17That's her guilt or whatever.
42:18Unfinished business, yeah.
42:19Yeah.
42:20I had an idea where I would set myself up as a trigger object.
42:27So I decided to put on a long white night dress.
42:29Right.
42:30I took the cutthroat razor with me and I just sat on the edge of the bed.
42:35And I was calling out again just to find out what had happened.
42:39Did you cut their throats, William?
42:41Twice?
42:42Oh, my God.
42:43It is twice.
42:44It is twice.
42:45I thought I actually said I did.
42:46No, it's twice.
42:47You're right.
42:48It's twice.
42:49It's twice.
42:50It's twice.
42:51Twice.
42:52I really wanted to try and find out who this lady in white was.
42:57Your throat had been slit.
42:59Who did that?
43:00Did you hear that?
43:03It's really clear.
43:04It keeps them shivers down my spine now.
43:05Every time I hear that.
43:06Your throat had been slit.
43:08Who did that?
43:10Who did that?
43:14He did?
43:15Yeah.
43:16He did.
43:17And it's the same voice.
43:19Yeah.
43:20What did she say before?
43:21Behind you.
43:22Behind you?
43:23That's the same voice.
43:24It's the same voice.
43:25Play it again.
43:26That's shivers, isn't it?
43:27Yeah, me too.
43:32He did.
43:33Holy moly.
43:34She sounds really young.
43:35Yeah.
43:36I can't believe I'm kind of just like, yeah, like taking it in.
43:39Yeah.
43:40This is my house.
43:41Yeah.
43:42It's like...
43:43Yeah.
43:44Then I hear another noise on the landing.
43:46Mistake.
43:47Mistake.
43:48So this sent it down an unexpected route.
43:52What was the mistake?
43:54What?
43:57What?
43:58Oh my God.
43:59Yeah.
44:00It was a mistake killing your wife.
44:03The story went that Susannah had got out of bed in the middle of the night and gone in with her daughter Sarah-Ann.
44:14Now I'm wondering, and we've spoken about this.
44:17He's just wanted to kill his daughter.
44:19For bringing shame on them by being pregnant.
44:22By being pregnant.
44:23Because she wasn't married.
44:24Yes.
44:25Yeah.
44:26And he's gone in and killed his wife thinking it's his daughter.
44:28Yeah.
44:29Exactly.
44:30And then in a fit of rage because of that, he's killed the daughter as well.
44:32Exactly.
44:33You've got it.
44:34You've got it in one.
44:35Maybe previously.
44:36Yeah.
44:37Yes.
44:38It's a lot to take in.
44:39This has gone on in your house.
44:41She...
44:42The murders didn't take place here though, did they?
44:44They took place very close to her.
44:47I'll just play these last few for you.
44:49Killing your wife.
44:52Do you regret it?
44:56Did you hear that?
44:57So what does he want?
44:58Why is he peering?
44:59I mean his spirit is still here, trapped.
45:02And I think that he was definitely regretting his actions.
45:06Ian and I decided to use the SLS camera.
45:09Which is a structured light sensor camera.
45:11It uses an invisible matrix grid of dots to see what the naked eye can't see.
45:15And we headed upstairs.
45:17We had an amazing experience in that room.
45:20Right.
45:21Ian sat on the chair.
45:23And he channeled William's spirit.
45:26No.
45:27From nowhere, William came forward.
45:29And it's almost like he was sat and pressing on my shoulders.
45:32So I thought, I'm going to let him enter me.
45:35So it's called transfiguration.
45:37When you let spirit come close.
45:39And they morph themselves from you into them.
45:43But I was aware of my surroundings.
45:45I was aware he was there.
45:46And I knew he wanted to tell his story.
45:49OK.
45:50I felt really, really sad.
45:53And I couldn't see Barry at this point.
45:56But it transpired that you were also feeling really emotional, weren't you?
46:00Yeah.
46:01I felt physically sick.
46:02So I said, Jane, can you take over?
46:04And I slumped to the ground and I decided to leave.
46:07I went down the stairs and I couldn't control my emotions.
46:10I burst into tears.
46:12I don't think it was my emotion.
46:14I think I was feeling William's sadness, his guilt.
46:17We had to do something.
46:19He wanted forgiveness.
46:21We can't judge.
46:22You know, we're here to help trap souls.
46:24We said a few prayers.
46:26And I brought William through.
46:28We brought his wife through and the daughter through.
46:31And we pushed them into the light.
46:34They've now left your property.
46:37That's good.
46:38Yeah.
46:39Wow.
46:40What a journey.
46:41It's now all been put to rest.
46:43Wow.
46:44Well, thank you so much.
46:45You're very welcome.
46:47It's been an emotional one I'll probably never forget.
46:50This has been an intense and fascinating investigation.
46:56It was a very emotional case, wasn't it?
46:58It was.
46:59I think it was one of our most emotional.
47:01You know, I like the twist, though.
47:03There was a twist.
47:04Always like a twist.
47:06But who knows what the next case will bring.
