04:46We are here, ladies and gentlemen, episode 65, Beyond the Paycheck and the Choices that Shape Our Financial Journey.
04:55Yes, ladies and gentlemen, we are going to go beyond the paycheck, and we are going to speak about the
05:01choices that we make.
05:04Now, I always say that the choice is yours, and I always say that we write our own story.
05:14And if you know anything about me, for a while, you know that I didn't always have that mindset.
05:20I had a mentor reach out to me and help me out. I believe it was 98-99, and I
05:28didn't know that the choice was mine.
05:30I didn't know that I had the power to write my own story back in 98-ish, I want to
05:37say 99.
05:39So, if you're out there listening, and you might be struggling, you may not understand, you may not know who
05:45you are, it is true.
05:48The choice is definitely yours.
05:51We won't get into it, but I just want to leave that open to let you know that, yes, this
05:55is a choice.
05:56We all have a choice in this situation.
05:58We all have a choice in this journey here that we call life.
06:04Episode 65, Beyond the Paycheck and the Choices that Shape Our Financial Journey.
06:13Good show tonight, but before we get into it, I want to say very special thank you to everybody out
06:18there who is listening.
06:19You know, I always say good morning, very special good morning to the Facebook crew, YouTube crew, wherever you're listening
06:28at.
06:29Definitely want to say thank you so much.
06:31Please do me a favor.
06:32Hit that like button, subscribe, tag a friend, text a friend, and invite a friend in because you never know
06:38what breakthrough moments you are going to get here on a 411 podcast.
06:43And I most certainly cannot do it without the help of each and every one of you out there.
06:47We are broadcasting on so many different platforms all over the world, most recently, including Italy, as well as India.
07:00So thank you all so much.
07:01Cannot do it without your help and your love and support over the years.
07:06And of course, I most certainly cannot do it without my executive producer.
07:10I want to thank God for giving me the strength, the courage, the wisdom, the understanding to keep pressing on.
07:17And with that, ladies and gentlemen, you know what time it is.
07:21It's time for the song of the day.
07:33So I spoke about choices.
07:35So we're just going to keep this theme going.
07:38Song of the day.
07:39The Choice is Yours by Black Sheep, released in 1991 off of their album Wolf in Sheep's Clothing.
07:49Now, I do have to say again that The Choice is Yours.
07:53And if you remember this record, it was so popular.
07:57And they said it plenty of times over and over and over again.
08:00You can get with this or you can get with that.
08:03Because you can get with this or you can get with that.
08:06Because you can get with this or you can get with that.
08:08Because you can get with this.
08:10Because this is where it's at.
08:11So in your financial journey, and it may not even just be finances, but, you know, this is Financial Friday.
08:17So I'm just going to, you know, keep the theme going.
08:20But it's so true that you can either go left or you can go right when it comes to your
08:24finances.
08:25When it comes to your mindset of how you think and how you feel about money, you can either go
08:31left or you can go right.
08:32You can have no money, you can have some money, or you can have lots of money.
08:37But remember that the choice really is yours.
08:41And I take it back to spiritual, but most certainly take it to mindset as well, the mental aspect of
08:48it.
08:49Because it all boils down to how you think and how you feel about money.
08:53Now, some of us, we grew up and we were programmed.
08:58If you don't think that you were programmed, then I have to tell you again, you have been programmed.
09:04We have been programmed since we were brought here.
09:07It started as soon as we came into this world.
09:09So whatever you were brought up in, whatever your mom thought, whatever your father thought, whatever grandma thought, you know,
09:18great-grandfather thought, a lot of that is the programming that you have received.
09:23Now, if you don't like, and you don't, basically that's it.
09:29If you don't like what you have saw growing up as a child, if you don't like the current situation
09:33that you're in, you can change it.
09:38You have the power to shift that, change that.
09:44Your words have power, and they are so powerful.
09:47And I'm going to take it to Proverbs 18, 21.
09:53They say, death and life are in the power of the tongue.
09:57And that's so important because a lot of us, we don't realize how powerful the words that are in our
10:04lives.
10:06And I interact with people on a day-to-day basis.
10:08You interact with people on a day-to-day basis.
10:11I challenge you all.
10:14Pay attention.
10:15Pay attention to things that people speak over their own lives, when it comes to their finances, when it comes
10:21to romance, when it comes to so many different aspects of their life.
10:28Health is another thing.
10:31Pay attention.
10:32The tongue is so small, but it's also so powerful as well.
10:38And it's the little things that we say over our lives, over our finances, over our health, which shapes and
10:49molds exactly what we are experiencing here today.
10:52Because, see, it starts in the mental.
10:56It comes out verbally.
10:59And we don't realize that you are listening.
11:04I know that that sounds interesting.
11:06But we don't realize that you are listening.
11:10Your subconscious mind is listening to every single thing that you are speaking and saying over your life.
11:19And it has no idea whether you're joking.
11:21It has no idea whether, you know, you're playing.
11:24You know, I was just joking.
11:26No, I'm just playing.
11:27I have single-handedly witnessed people put curses on their own lives, saying that they are broke, saying that they
11:37are poor, saying that they are always miserable, saying so many different things.
11:42Again, that tongue, life and death is in the power of tongues, saying so many things in a joking way,
11:47interacting with other people, constantly complaining.
11:52And they have no idea that all they are doing is just laying curse upon curse upon curse upon curse
11:59over their lives.
12:00The choice truly is yours.
12:03You can either go left or you can go right.
12:06You can follow that righteous path or you can follow the other path.
12:11Or you can continue to do the same exact thing that you have been doing and get the same results
12:17that you have been getting.
12:18If you're here, if you want something different, just remember that the choice is yours.
12:24You can either get with this or you can get with that.
12:26But the choice truly is yours.
12:29The song of the day, the choice is yours, by Black Sheep, off of their album, Wolf in Sheep's Clothing,
12:37released in 1991.
12:47I have to say that I really could continue to go on and on and on and on and I'm
12:52going to calm myself down.
12:54I'm going to pump my brakes a little bit and back up because we got to get our special guests
12:58in here tonight.
12:58But this topic here about mindset and about the words that we speak over our lives and I can go,
13:09I can do a whole show on this.
13:11I'm so passionate about it because ladies and gentlemen, the person that you listen to time and time again here
13:18on a 411 podcast, I was not always him.
13:21I'll take that back.
13:22I was always him, but I forgot who I was.
13:25See, when we come into this world, we are perfect.
13:29We are 100.
13:30But it's the things that happen to us that chip away at us little by little by little and then
13:37we forget who we are.
13:39But see, when you know who you are, that's another thing.
13:44When you know whose you are and you'll remember who you are.
13:48Again, like I said, I can go on this topic.
13:54The whole show we could do this because it's so powerful and it's so important.
14:00And once you start a little bit, you'll be like, OK, I get it.
14:05More of this is coming in 2027.
14:06But in the meantime, in the meantime, between time, we have a very special guest, DG Saphir.
14:15We're going to go ahead and reach out to him and see what he thinks about the choice being yours
14:20and these choices that we make on our financial journey.
14:40Hello, hello, hello.
14:41What's going on?
14:43Hey, brother, how are you doing?
14:45I'm doing good, doing good.
14:47Welcome on into the 4-in-1 podcast.
14:50Thank you for having me, brother.
14:52Yes, sir.
14:54So I always ask my special guests, where are you calling from?
15:01Well, you won't believe this, but I'm in Scottsdale, Arizona.
15:05Wow.
15:06That's one of my favorite spots.
15:08I've been there plenty of times.
15:10Oh, good.
15:11Good.
15:12You know, how they can get here.
15:14I have not been there at the peak season, but I will tell you that I love the desert.
15:19So one of my favorite spots is Palm Springs, California, and I love it in the summertime.
15:25You know, when people run away, like they run away from Arizona in July.
15:30Yeah, I'm the one that's right there coming in during that time frame.
15:34And then they run back here in September and October, November, you know.
15:38Right, right, right.
15:39Yeah, get away from that cold weather back east.
15:45Exactly.
15:46So, yeah, I'm in good old, you know, northeast, you know, New Jersey, and we're about 40s, 50s, right about
15:54now.
15:54We get up to the 60s, but yeah, I would prefer to be exactly where you're at right now.
16:00I'm from New York City, so I can relate to where you're coming from.
16:04That's why I escaped.
16:06See what I'm saying?
16:07See?
16:08See?
16:09That's what I'm saying.
16:11People don't understand.
16:12I can try to shovel in snow, man, you know, and all that.
16:16I can do better things with my time.
16:18See?
16:19That's what I'm saying.
16:21People look at me like I'm crazy when I say that.
16:24Once I get up out of here, I am up out of here, let me tell you.
16:28Yeah, I'm done.
16:29Got to do it.
16:31Okay, so at this moment, please go ahead and introduce yourself to the Black Diamond community.
16:38Let everybody know who you are and what you have to offer.
17:12Well, I'm D.G.
17:13spiritual law on the radio.
17:15So when you talk about free will and choice, you're really talking my language, you know?
17:20So everything I do in the business world is based on spirit, you know, and because that's your foundation.
17:26Without that strong spiritual foundation, the house is not going to stand very long.
17:31You know, when a hurricane comes, it's over.
17:34I know that's right.
17:38Now, so anyway, I've been involved with co-ops most of my adult life since I was 24 years young,
17:47cooperative economic development.
17:49So that's, you know, where I focus my energies because it's based on natural and spiritual law.
17:55It's better to give than to receive because through the act of giving, you automatically receive.
18:00And so we're out here chasing our tails every day in the capitalistic system, not understanding there's a better way
18:06to go.
18:10Yeah, yeah.
18:11You definitely started opening up some doors and I have lots of questions for you.
18:19So that's why I'm here.
18:22Okay, so let I, a lot of people get this twisted and it's not going to say that it's their
18:30fault, but it can be sort of confusing to people when it comes to spirituality and money.
18:37There's a lot of people out there that think that, you know, they go off to the scripture and they
18:42have it twisted that money is evil because money is the root of all evil.
18:48But in reality, it says, for the love of money is the root of all evil.
18:52And I've listened to a great podcaster, Myron Golden, and he says it's because people love the money more than
19:02they love the people instead of taking the money and using the money to love the people.
19:10Yep, that's why I love co-op because co-op is about service first.
19:15And when you provide service to people, the money will come.
19:21Okay, explain that to the people who don't know what that is.
19:24You said co-op, explain that to us.
19:27You know, cooperatively owned business, most people, not most people, but a lot of people bank with credit unions.
19:37Credit unions are the best example of a co-op.
19:40A lot of people who even actually bank with credit unions don't even know that a credit union is a
19:45co-op or cooperatively owned business.
19:47You know, you're a member of the credit union.
19:51You become an equal member of the credit union with all the other members.
19:54So that's the best example out there of a co-op.
19:58Of course, there's other co-ops.
20:00Any business can be a co-op.
20:02You know, you have co-op farmers, cooperatively owned farms like Sunkist, Lando Lakes, True Value Hardware Store.
20:12There's a lot of retail co-ops out there.
20:15You've got energy co-ops.
20:18You've got housing co-ops.
20:20It just basically means that you own the development equally with all the other people who are a member of
20:26the co-op or a member of the or the housing development.
20:31And that was my first beginning was working with a co-op called Co-op Village, which is interestingly the
20:39name of my new book that just came out, Creating a Co-op Village.
20:42And that began back in Pasadena, California in the 70s, late 70s.
20:51And I was the assistant project director of a $6.4 million 22-acre co-op housing development and recreation
21:00center and shopping center, a really beautiful model for cooperation because the housing was owned by the people who own
21:11equal ownership of each co-op townhouse unit.
21:16They own it equally, 255 townhouses.
21:21They also own the recreation center next door and the shopping center across the street.
21:26So the money from the shopping center leasing from the shopping center tenants went back to the housing co-op
21:35to help lower the housing costs.
21:36And that's a big thing that we need today is we need to find ways that we can reduce our
21:41housing costs.
21:42So if we're buying from a shopping center that we own across the street to help that can help lower
21:48our rent and keep the money in the community so we don't keep giving our money away to people who
21:54don't give any of it back.
21:59That's why we keep chasing our tails because we know we're not capturing the dollars that we spend every day.
22:07And so if we capture the dollars that we spend every day, none of us would be broke.
22:13You know, we would never be broke.
22:15You can't be broke if you recycle the money back to yourself.
22:17And so that, you know, it dawned on me when I was 24 years old and I realized that that
22:24was the way to go.
22:25Cooperative economics was the way to go.
22:28For example, if you had ties to yourself, Lauren, you had tied 10 percent of your income since you started
22:38working, you probably wouldn't be talking to me.
22:41You'd probably be on an island somewhere chilling with a margarita.
22:48You'd be financially set.
22:51So we just tie 10 percent of what we make every day.
22:55There's no there's no challenge.
22:56If we recycle the money that we make back to ourselves every day in the community, then we don't have
23:03a need for the government oversight.
23:06We don't have need for government money.
23:07We don't have need for any of that because we can manage ourselves if we're keeping the money in the
23:12community, in the neighborhood.
23:14OK, co-ops do.
23:16So now you just again, you keep opening up these doors.
23:22So how much time you got, man?
23:26Well, I definitely a lot of you touch base on something that I'm so passionate about.
23:33And again, I only really got that got it together only a few years ago.
23:39So, again, I'm here at expert, but I have learned what ownership is.
23:45And a lot of a lot of us don't know what ownership is.
23:50And you also opened up a door as well in my mind when it comes to tithing.
23:55And a lot of people don't know what what that is.
23:59They think that sometimes tithing is just going ahead and giving all your money to the church, which is another
24:04situation.
24:05And even that they will go ahead and give their last dime to the church, but they forget to pay
24:10themselves first.
24:13That's programming.
24:15Exactly.
24:16But the ownership, when you own, depending on what it is, like you said, recycling the money.
24:24So it could be you might own some paper at who knows.
24:29But some of these things, obviously, you get customers that will be able to pay you back.
24:34You get dividends and things of that nature.
24:36But why do you think a lot of people don't know about ownership?
24:43Well, you know, there's contradictions, you know.
24:45You know, people will say in church that charity begins at home, you know.
24:50And people will say self-preservation is the first law of nature.
24:56But then they don't live it.
24:58They don't they don't practice it every day, you know.
25:01So if they if they you know, it's just it's just talk.
25:04It's just conversation.
25:05But if they actually live the spiritual laws, it's better to give than to receive.
25:10Because through the act of giving, you automatically receive.
25:13Then they wouldn't be challenged financially or spiritually or otherwise.
25:19But they don't believe it.
25:21You know, they think it's just talk because they haven't practiced it.
25:24And you have to practice it in order for it to be recorded as a wisdom in your being.
25:29You have to practice it every day.
25:31Otherwise, it's just intellectual conversation.
25:33People say the right words, but it doesn't mean anything because they're not doing it.
25:39You know, they preach on Sunday or Saturday or Friday, whatever it is.
25:43But then they go out and do the same stuff that they've been doing.
25:46Wow.
25:48Yeah.
25:48People think just because I get up and I go to church every Sunday, then I know, you know.
25:54Wow.
25:55OK.
25:56So spiritual law.
25:57Well, they think because they go to the gym and exercise that they take care of themselves.
26:01But it starts with your spirit, man.
26:04It starts with spiritual practice every day to practice the spiritual principles that you say you believe in.
26:11And so as you do that every day, like I said, it becomes recorded as wisdom and it's automatically you
26:16automatically do it without being prompted to do it.
26:21Recorded as wisdom.
26:22I'm writing, you know, I'm writing some of this stuff down now.
26:25So spiritual law.
26:27And I've heard you say this several times in this past 20 minutes, almost 30 minutes we've been speaking here.
26:33Spiritual law.
26:34It's better to give than it is to receive.
26:38Because through the act of giving, you automatically receive.
26:41You know, you're going to get a mirror reflection back of your own consciousness.
26:45You know, so whatever you think is going to be brought to you in your life, you're going to manifest
26:50it into your life.
26:51That's why we have to watch our judgments.
26:53We have to be very careful about what we judge.
26:56Because, you know, we say judge not, at least we be judged, but we don't live it.
27:01We don't understand it, that it's talking about us.
27:04You know, that whatever you put out in consciousness is going to be mirrored back to you in your life.
27:09And so if you keep judging your life and judging people in your life, you're going to keep repeating the
27:16same stuff over and over again.
27:18Like in relationships, you know, a guy will have a bad relationship with a woman.
27:22A woman has a bad relationship with a guy.
27:25And, you know, they're going to keep repeating the same type of person all the time because they keep judging
27:31the person that they were in the relationship before.
27:34Unless they can say thank you and be in gratitude for the relationship, they're going to keep repeating it.
27:41And we don't understand that that's part of spiritual law, is that when you can say thank you to the
27:48person who came into your life, because remember now, they only came into your life because you asked them to.
27:54You invited them to come in.
27:56So you needed the wisdom of the lesson.
28:00But we want to say that we made a mistake, but there was no mistake.
28:04There was no mistake.
28:06You know, just take your lumps and bumps like the rest of us and say thank you.
28:10You know, the people that are most difficult in your life are the ones that you should listen to the
28:14most.
28:16Because you can't learn anything from anybody who agrees with everything you say.
28:20How can you learn anything from them?
28:22You know, amen corner.
28:24That's all you're going to get is an amen corner.
28:26But the people who have been in the most challenging people in my life, from my first sergeant in the
28:30Army to my business partners, you know, I thank them for challenging me.
28:38Because without challenging me, then I wouldn't have become better.
28:43Right.
28:44I think, yeah, go ahead.
28:52I will put this on here.
28:55I think we might have a little bit of a connection issue here.
29:01But we'll go ahead and try to bring up your mic again.
29:04But what I will say is that that was some powerful information.
29:07I'm going to bring them up again.
29:08But that is so true because a lot of things didn't change in my life until I started to say
29:14thank you.
29:15Because before, you know, everybody who rocks with me and listens knows that I used to point fingers and blame
29:20everybody.
29:21Even from the things that happened as a child, you know, people know that I have blamed some family members
29:28for a long time and would not give them any slack at all.
29:31But once I started to wake up and say, you know, I can't say anything about it because, listen, we
29:40write our own stories.
29:41And like DG said, we asked them to come here.
29:47That is so profound.
29:49We asked them to come here, which I want to touch base on that a little bit more.
29:53So you can't get so upset and worked up over the people that you have wrote into your story.
30:00You wrote somebody into your story or you wrote a situation and, you know, into your storyline that you didn't
30:08necessarily take time to think about.
30:10And once you got into it, you didn't agree with it.
30:14Wow.
30:14Let's learn.
30:15I lost the connection with you.
30:16I'm back now.
30:17Yeah, I see.
30:18We pulled you back.
30:19Yeah, I got you.
30:20Yeah.
30:21Oh, OK, good.
30:22Yeah, I guess I guess what I was saying was too deep.
30:28But man, did you you cut me off?
30:32Huh?
30:32Man, did you open up some doors and some question marks that I got?
30:36I'm sitting here right in right in the way.
30:38So, well, come on, because I'm mad.
30:40They cut me off, man.
30:41So I'm fired up now even more.
30:43So people don't.
30:44So people don't just show up.
30:46We ask them to come here.
30:48That's right.
30:49We invite them into our lives because we need the wisdom of the lesson that they're going to bring to
30:54us.
30:55Come on now.
30:58And then just being gratitude, man.
31:02And then if you don't get the lesson, then you're bound to do it again.
31:07Of course.
31:08Like that movie Groundhog Day.
31:10Oh, one of my favorite movies.
31:12I love it.
31:13Yeah.
31:13You know, I watched that movie probably 20 times.
31:15I learned something new in it every time I watch it because he did not change the day until he
31:22changes his spiritual attitude about life.
31:25And once he changes his spiritual attitude about life, there was a scene in that movie so funny where he
31:29was sitting at the counter with these two truck drivers.
31:32I think they were truck drivers in the cafeteria.
31:35And he said, man, can you imagine I get up every day to the same music, run to the same
31:41people, do the same stuff every day.
31:43And the two guys looked at each other and said, well, that about that about covers it for us.
31:48We're doing the same thing, too.
31:52He thought he was by himself.
31:54He thought he was the only one experiencing it.
31:55And that's what people are doing every day out here.
31:58They're just in Groundhog Day every day because they're not appreciating the people that they meet.
32:05He hated the groundhog.
32:06He hated the assignment as a newscaster to go to that city to do Groundhog Day because he used to
32:13live there.
32:13And he thought he was better than everybody else.
32:15When he got back there, he's looking down at everybody, thought he was a big cheese.
32:19And then he realized that he wasn't nobody.
32:24Just like everybody else.
32:25Right.
32:26The same people that we sit in there judging and pointing fingers.
32:30We're a reflection.
32:31We're all mirrors.
32:32We're all one in the same.
32:33We're a piece of each other.
32:35So that's why what you were saying.
32:38Yeah, we're just.
32:39Yeah.
32:40You're judging people.
32:41We're just running into a different aspect of God, man, a different aspect of yourself.
32:45That's all it is.
32:47Everything's God.
32:48Everything is God.
32:51Okay.
32:51The most vile, the most vile thing in the universe that you can think about right now, a snake, whatever.
33:00That's God.
33:03That's a representation of God.
33:05Everything's God.
33:07So you don't want to demonize anything.
33:09You don't want to demonize anything because that's an aspect of God that you need to learn about yourself.
33:14There's something.
33:15There's messages in all the animals and all the creatures.
33:18For example, study an ant.
33:20An ant.
33:21Study an ant and become wise.
33:25Ants don't complain.
33:27They don't judge.
33:29They just keep it moving.
33:29You know, they carry a hundred times their own weight without complaining.
33:33They're organized.
33:34You know, they got armies.
33:36They take commands from each other and they do what has to be done to build an ant hill or
33:42whatever they're going to do.
33:44And you know what?
33:45What also is wise about the ant is that when it's summer, the ant is preparing for winter.
33:50And when it's winter, the ant is preparing for summer.
33:53They just keep it moving.
33:55Yeah.
33:56Intuitively, they know, you know, we have to look outside to see what the weather is.
34:03And our financial lives and, you know, just life in general would be a heck of a lot different if
34:10we clean up some of our money issues.
34:11Because if we were thinking like the ant and preparing for winter during the summer and then in the summer
34:17preparing for winter, such as people who have bought or got prepared for the holidays in July, Christmas in July,
34:24they wouldn't be stressed out and struggling over these next couple of weeks that are going to come up if
34:30they were thinking like the ant.
34:31But, Larry, we don't have money issues.
34:34We have cooperation, lack of cooperation issues.
34:39If we cooperate and serve each other, if we bought and sold from each other within the community and kept
34:48the money in the community and within the neighborhood, within our family, you know, within the city, within the nation,
34:56within the state.
34:57I mean, we wouldn't have these issues.
34:59We have these issues because we keep looking outside of ourselves for God when God is within.
35:05You go to church and it says you the kingdom of God is within.
35:08But then we, after we leave church, we get amnesia.
35:13Okay.
35:14Okay.
35:14Now, you sure you ain't talking too much now?
35:21Because a lot for a lot of people right here.
35:23They might cut me off again.
35:24I don't know.
35:27Well, okay.
35:29So let's back this up again.
35:31I want you to repeat that again for so many.
35:33Like I said, this is some of the things that, you know, have been eye-opening for me.
35:38A lot of people, they seek.
35:42I'm going to just let you go ahead and say it because I might say too much.
35:45But go ahead.
35:46Well, Larry, look, money is just an illusion.
35:51Okay.
35:52It's a means of exchange.
35:53I mean, we could just do barter.
35:55We could eliminate money by just bartering.
35:58We could barter everything.
36:00We don't need money.
36:00It's just a grand illusion that we've created so we could chase our tails.
36:06But basically, you know, if we were on an island, you know, by ourselves, like my partner always uses this
36:13analogy,
36:14we'd figure out who can do what.
36:16Right.
36:17You know, because we have to figure out a way to survive on that island, you know, and prosper.
36:24You know, so we figure out who's the best cook, who knows how to, you know, fish, you know, who
36:32can go get some food, you know, who knows how to grow food, you know, who's into agriculture.
36:38You know, we each person would get a job based on what their area of interest was and what they
36:43could do.
36:44And so we would be able to survive, not just survive, but we'd be able to prosper as a community
36:51working together.
36:52So, you know, that's what it's all about, cooperation and service with each other.
36:56So, you know, we have a cop in my book, I talk about the competition conflict paradigm, and that's the
37:04one that we've been caught up in the competition conflict paradigm, you know, keeping up with the Joneses paradigm and
37:11all that kind of stuff.
37:12And that doesn't serve us very well.
37:14So you have the, so what's going on right now, we're at this crossroads, we're going to keep on doing
37:20this competition conflict paradigm, or we're going to either shift from the competition conflict paradigm, which leads to war, and
37:28shift to the what I call cooperation and service paradigm, which leads to peace and prosperity.
37:34So we're at that crossroads now, we got to make a decision, are we going to be stuck on what
37:40my friend used to say, stuck on stupid, and keep on doing the same stuff over and over again, or
37:45we're going to realize that this system has run its course, capitalism, competition, conflict has run its course, we got
37:54to rethink it now, okay, because if we're not careful, what's going to happen is,
38:0010 corporations are going to control the whole world, and we'll be buying everything from them, the people won't own
38:09anything.
38:10So we have an opportunity now to learn about co-ops and cooperative economics, we have the opportunity to create
38:17worker-owned co-ops.
38:19For example, I'm working with another co-op besides my own, I have a co-op called Global Village Co
38:25-op, but I'm working with another co-op called Fair Co-op.
38:28They created a ride-share service and delivery service that is an alternative to Uber and Lyft.
38:35We just did a show on my podcast about it, and I call that show, the topic of that show
38:42was called Volunteer Slavery.
38:45Think about that.
38:47That's what the gig industry has become.
38:49It's become volunteer slavery.
38:52I mean, look at it, you know, they're treating the drivers badly, you know, the wages keep going down, they
38:59keep ticking from the drivers, and they plan to eliminate the drivers soon with these self-autonomous, self-driving vehicles.
39:06You know, so what are these drivers going to do once these self-driving cars take over?
39:10Unless they own the self-driving cars themselves, which is what we're working to create a situation where they can
39:18begin to own, that the drivers can actually own their own self-autonomous vehicles and be at home while they're,
39:26you know, vehicles out there working for them.
39:28And so unless we do that, we're in trouble because the drivers are in trouble and the whole world's in
39:34trouble because you take away the driver's job and all you can get into is a self-driving vehicle.
39:42How boring will that be?
39:46Interesting.
39:46Not to mention you have no more human contact.
39:50How boring is that going to be?
39:51You know, when you eliminate drivers from being on the road doing the driving, the next thing is going to
39:57be all the truck drivers will be losing their job because they'll have self-autonomous, self-driving, attractive trailer vehicles
40:05on the road.
40:06Oh, you didn't hear.
40:07So what are we going to do?
40:08You didn't hear that they already have.
40:11Well, we can't afford these trucks.
40:15Only the big companies can afford the trucks.
40:17So we've got to position ourselves under cooperative economics and creating co-ops where we can actually become owners of
40:24these new technologies so that we can benefit in the same way that Elon Musk and the rest of them
40:30are benefiting.
40:32So we've got to create, you know, at one time when Obama was talking about doing the Affordable Care Act,
40:39they thought about, you know, making the Affordable Care Act a cooperatively owned enterprise.
40:44If they had done that, that means that all of us would own the Affordable Care Act and we'd have
40:48transparency.
40:49We'd know exactly why the prices are what they are.
40:53But, of course, the powers that be didn't want that to happen because they don't want that to happen because
40:59they don't want us to have control and transparency.
41:01The same reason why the banks tried to stop credit unions from going across state lines because the competition is
41:09too great.
41:10The credit union provides better service, better products than most banks.
41:14And so the banks lobbied like crazy to stop credit unions from going across state lines because they knew what
41:20would happen.
41:21So any time we're doing our best to take control of our own lives and empower ourselves through worker-owned
41:29co-ops or consumer co-ops or farm co-ops or whatever kind of co-op we want to create,
41:35the powers that be are trying to destroy that.
41:37They don't want us to be in control of our own destiny.
41:40You know, because you had talked about that earlier when you talk about ownership.
41:44Well, ownership is not just spiritual ownership, but it's also in terms of the means of exchange and the jobs
41:52and manufacturing and things that are out there.
41:55We need to own that, too, as cooperative businesses.
42:00And that's what we've got to do, because otherwise we're just going to be on the plantation and we're going
42:05to continue this volunteer slavery mess.
42:09Absolutely. And last Financial Friday, I was speaking about Warren Buffett.
42:14One of the quotes that he said woke me up and it really was disturbing, but it sure woke me
42:20up quick.
42:21And it's somewhere along the lines. Don't quote me, but it's you need to learn how to make money while
42:26you sleep.
42:27If not, you'll work until you die. How do you feel about that?
42:31Well, that's what that's what the big boys are doing.
42:34And they're making money while they're asleep because they had all this A.I. going on and self-autonomous, self
42:40-driving vehicles.
42:41They just I think Las Vegas has bought seven thousand autonomous self-driving vehicles.
42:45What's that going to do to the seven thousand people going to lose their jobs in Las Vegas because of
42:51these these vehicles?
42:52So unless we create a co-op owned ride share service like this company that I'm working with has done
43:00called Fair Co-op, those seven thousand drivers are going to be out of work.
43:06OK, so let's let's let's let's talk action here.
43:09So people who are here for the first time might be fed up with their current situation.
43:15What what how could you guide them?
43:18What would be the next steps? What would be some actions?
43:20Let's correct that. Let's not say they might be fed up.
43:23We know they are fed up.
43:25Right.
43:28No, we would be on fed up.
43:32OK, so if we don't if we don't take action now, like I said, we're going to be we'll be
43:38locked into a situation where we got to remind me of this movie called Solar and Green with Charlton Heston,
43:45where they were picking up all the people off the street and throwing them in garbage trucks.
43:49And then they were making this this food called Solar and Green and it was made with the people's bones
43:58and tissue and they called it food.
44:02And the people didn't know that they were being cannibalized and eating food.
44:07This called Solar and Green, you know, you really and real.
44:12Yeah. And real food was going like a four ounce jar of strawberries.
44:17And this movie was going for like fifty dollars or something crazy like that.
44:20I mean, so and that's what we're seeing at the stores now.
44:23We're seeing these prices continually go up.
44:26We're seeing the rents continually go up.
44:27If we don't take control over those industries, we're going to be in a bad way soon.
44:33I mean, a lot of people are already in a bad way, but it's going to get worse.
44:36It's not going to get better.
44:37So we better take the time, educate ourselves about co-ops, cooperative economics, work our own co-ops, you know,
44:45and and get ahead of this situation before it's too late.
44:50Yeah, man, you said some movies that that really people really should watch.
44:57Soylent Green.
44:58Yes. Soylent Green. That was deep, man.
45:00I mean, they were scooping people up off the street who were like homeless and stuff and turning them into
45:06food.
45:07It was just a modern form of of cannibalism.
45:11And they're doing that.
45:12They're doing that now.
45:14There's people getting kidnapped off the streets now and being used for medical purposes.
45:20I mean, so what's going on right now?
45:21This is not this is not science fiction, man.
45:24This is reality.
45:25I was always told that they put it in the movies first before they go ahead.
45:29And and exactly.
45:31Exactly.
45:32I think there's some sort of.
45:36Yeah.
45:37Yeah, I forgot what it was.
45:38Yeah, I forgot what it's called.
45:41Yeah.
45:42Yeah.
45:43I'm a I'm a Star Trek guy.
45:46I'm a star.
45:47I'm a Trekkie, you know.
45:48And so I watched the old with John Luke and and and and Worf and and and Jody.
45:56Jody.
45:57That's my favorite one.
45:58And, you know, they got this thing that materializes food.
46:02You know, you just tell this computer what kind of food you want and it'll make the food for you.
46:07Oh, yeah.
46:07You know, 3D printing beam in it.
46:10It'll beam the food in.
46:11Yeah.
46:11But it's fake.
46:12It's fake food.
46:13Yes.
46:14Artificial food.
46:15You know, just like, you know, you know, artificial.
46:20Everything is becoming artificial now.
46:22So to find a real thing is going to be really hard at some point, you know, so we've got
46:27to really take charge of the situation.
46:29You know, they're putting GMO seeds in the food now, you know, trying to curve back on population growth and
46:36all these things that Bill Gates and a lot of other people out there are caught up in to reduce
46:41the world population.
46:43There's enough abundance to go around.
46:45I mean, we just don't understand that, you know, we don't have to kill people to because we're just being
46:53too greedy with the resource.
46:55We're taking all the resources, let's say, from the people who don't have any resources who actually, you know, actually
47:02they do have the resource, but we're taking the resource from them and use it for our own benefit.
47:06You know, so you have the haves and the have-nots, you know, you've got 10% of the world
47:11living good and the rest of the world struggling.
47:15You know, I'm tired of it.
47:18I'm tired of it, Leroy, and I don't know about you, but I'm tired of it.
47:24Yeah, it's, I think a lot of people will start to wake up because it's going to come to a
47:31point.
47:31They are waking up, but don't wait too long because, you know, the time is short right now.
47:37You know, the window of opportunity is right now.
47:40You know, while things are shifting in terms of what the administration in D.C. is doing right now, if
47:47that don't wake you up, nothing's going to wake you up.
47:50Exactly.
47:50Exactly.
47:51You can't see the handwriting on the wall now.
47:53You'll never see it.
47:55You know, you're going to be just like sheep going into the slaughterhouse.
47:58You know, and so that's why I've been involved with co-ops all these years and advocate for cooperative economic
48:05development, cooperative ownership, because we have to own the means of exchange.
48:10And if we don't own the means of exchange, whether it's a football team, basketball team, baseball team, whether it's
48:17a business of any kind, it doesn't matter.
48:19We've got to be able, the players, without the players, there's no NFL.
48:25There's no basketball.
48:26There's none of that.
48:28So the players have to take control.
48:30We, as the consumers, have to take control.
48:33That's why we created Global Village Co-op, my co-op, to give people the power so that we can
48:38buy and sell from each other under a closed loop co-op.
48:43You know, you don't have to, you know, demonize the existing system.
48:49Just create another system that's better.
48:52You know, and co-op is that system.
48:54And that's what Buck Master Fuller used to say.
48:56Don't, you know, don't criticize the existing system.
49:00Created a better mousetrap.
49:02And co-ops, I think, are the better mousetrap in my mind anyway.
49:06And so somebody can show me something better.
49:09Bucky Fuller, huh?
49:10A lot of people don't even know that name.
49:12Huh?
49:13Yeah.
49:13Bucky Master Fuller.
49:15Yeah, yeah.
49:15Bucky Master Fuller.
49:16He was, you know, a closed system.
49:18He was about a closed system approach to living.
49:21If you recycle, look, Laird, if you recycle money, do you need money?
49:27Right.
49:28That's right there.
49:29Come on.
49:30Yeah.
49:31If you recycle glass, do you need glass?
49:33Right, right.
49:34If you recycle plastic, do you need plastic?
49:37If you recycle water, do you need water?
49:41I mean, this is not rocket science.
49:43This is common sense.
49:44All right.
49:45So all we have to do is set up a co-op economic system that we can recycle everything back
49:51to
49:51ourselves because everything in the world is bought and sold.
49:55So why not buy from ourselves and sell to ourselves?
49:58Keep it into a closed loop system like Buckmaster Fuller talked about, a closed systems approach
50:03so the money never leaves the community that never goes out.
50:07But the problem is that we keep giving our money away to these big corporations who don't
50:11give any of it back.
50:12Right, right.
50:14How much these big corporations that take money from us, how much do they give back to
50:18the community?
50:19I'm going to tell you how much they give back ready, ladies and gentlemen.
50:22Here we go.
50:27Nothing.
50:29So we are up against the clock.
50:31We got to get on up out of here.
50:34But before we leave, please let them know your information again, where we can follow you,
50:40where we can listen to you on your podcast.
50:42And then we definitely have to have you come back for part two, three, whatever you'd like.
50:48Please come back to the 411 podcast.
50:50So go ahead.
50:51I would love to because I'm just getting warmed up.
50:54Yeah.
50:55Go to globalvillage.coop.
51:02Globalvillage.coop.
51:05That's our co-op.
51:08Check that out.
51:09Check out Fair Co-op.
51:12F-A-R-E dot co-op, C-O-O-P.
51:19No hyphen in there.
51:21And then my book is on Amazon right now and other locations, other bookstores, called
51:27Creating a Co-op Village by D.G.
51:30Safir Hopton.
51:31And within that book, you will find in the back of that book resources for learning about
51:38co-ops, the National Cooperative Business Association and other of the National Cooperative Bank that
51:45is set up by Congress to loan money to co-ops.
51:47So there's opportunities now.
51:49SBA is now guaranteeing co-op business loans, which is something that's new.
51:56That's a game changer right there.
51:57So you can start your own co-op and get an SBA loan guarantee from the bank that you're dealing
52:04with.
52:05So there's a lot of stuff going on.
52:07And then my email address or my other website is safirworld.com.
52:14Safir, S-A-F-E-E-R, world.com.
52:18And those are the best resources in terms of getting in touch with me and finding out how you can
52:24get
52:25involved with the co-ops.
52:27Wow.
52:28This is some great, powerful information.
52:31And we definitely want to have you come back as well.
52:33So I'll be in touch with that.
52:35We are up against the clock, though, so we got to go ahead and get on up out of here.
52:39But I definitely want to say much for going on as Blaze Financial Friday over on this area here.
52:46Well, I appreciate you, man.
52:48Keep on doing what you're doing.
52:49You're doing a fantastic job.
52:51And all my blessings to the listeners out there to get grounded, man, and begin to live common sense.
52:58And let's get out of this competition, conflict paradigm, which leads to war.
53:05Yeah, absolutely.
53:07Yeah.
53:08Thank you so much.
53:10And I'll be in touch.
53:11Take care now.
53:12All right.
53:13Take care.
53:13Bye-bye.
53:14See you.
53:15Well, ladies and gentlemen, there you have it.
53:19Peace of fear.
53:28I don't even know what to say.
53:30I don't even know what to say.
53:32Mind is completely spinning right now.
53:35We definitely have to have him come back.
53:37So many different things that I have been studying.
53:41And, you know, before I bring them to the forefront, you know, obviously I'm studying and I'm processing them in
53:47my mind.
53:47But so many words that I was, you know, studying, such as paradigm.
53:54And, you know, it just rolls right off of his tongue.
54:00Speechless.
54:01I'm like, yeah, I know that word.
54:03I was just studying that.
54:04Like, ladies and gentlemen, stay up on top of these things and stay current and constantly be looking to learn.
54:12I think that that's one of the key messages.
54:15Like, you don't want to stay stuck.
54:17You don't want to stay stagnant.
54:19You want to continuously learn and be a little bit better.
54:23Get out of that.
54:24What did he say?
54:25The competition.
54:26Get out of the competition.
54:28Stop trying to keep up with the Joneses.
54:30The only person that you need to worry about competing with is self.
54:33Remember, everything starts with self.
54:35That's the only competition that you have.
54:37Are you doing better today than you were yesterday?
54:40Forget about what the other person is doing.
54:42Forget about what they have, what they're posting, where they're going on vacation, what they're doing.
54:46We talk about this all the time.
54:48That is a great way to stay stuck is when you continuously look in a rearview mirror, looking at what
54:55somebody else has.
54:56And on that note, ladies and gentlemen, I'm going to go ahead and leave it on that because we got
54:59to get out of here.
55:00We're up against the clock.
55:01But thank you all so much for joining.
55:02This has been a great episode of the 4-in-1 Podcast.
55:05I'll see you when I see you.
55:07Take care, y'all.
55:43Take care, y'all.
56:02Take care, y'all.
56:03Take care.
