07:20helped out throughout the years.
07:23Most certainly cannot do it without you.
07:26And, of course, my executive producer.
07:28I want to thank God for giving me the strength, the courage, the wisdom, the understanding through it all.
07:35Because he's the ultimate reason why.
07:39So, thank you all.
07:40Let's go ahead and get this show started.
07:45Episode 64, I'm afraid to leave the job that's keeping me stuck.
07:50But you know what we got to do.
07:53Let's get into it.
07:55Song of the day.
08:05Don't Be Afraid.
08:081991 from Aaron Hall off of the Juice soundtrack.
08:13This song was really big.
08:15Really, really big.
08:16I remember it being played on the radio all the time.
08:19And I just remember, Don't Be Afraid.
08:21Don't Be Afraid.
08:22Just kept saying, Don't Be Afraid over and over and over again.
08:25Which is going to segue us into people who are afraid.
08:33We shouldn't be afraid of anything.
08:36And I'm going to start it off with my favorite scripture.
08:40Because God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound
08:46mind.
08:46So, if you have any type of fear, you're afraid of something, doubt, anxiety.
08:53We already know that that's coming from the enemy.
08:57And that's not coming from God because God is love.
08:59So, with that being said, this has to be one of the most powerful scriptures that I believe.
09:06Because it's already saying that God has not given us a spirit of fear.
09:10So, if he's not giving us a spirit of fear, and if you are walking around and you're feeling fearful.
09:17If you're feeling, you already understand and know where it's coming from.
09:22So, if you know where it's coming from, you're now at the position where you have to go ahead and
09:27pick and choose.
09:28Are you going to choose fear because you know who is the leader of that?
09:32Or are you going to go ahead and choose faith because we know who the leader is of that?
09:38So, don't be afraid.
09:39I'm not sure what it is that you have going on that might have you being afraid.
09:44Whether it's entering a relationship.
09:48Whether it's time to go ahead and exit that relationship.
09:52Whether it's I might need to go ahead and look for a new job.
09:56Whether it's I might need to go ahead and leave this job.
10:00I might need to stop being friends with this specific person.
10:05Listen, I may need to stop hanging around this circle or group of people.
10:10I'm not sure what it is that you have going on.
10:13And I'll tell you since we're a financial show here.
10:17A lot of people have the spirit of fear when it comes to saving a certain amount of money.
10:23When it comes to investing a certain amount of money.
10:26It's that fear.
10:27Remember, God has not given us a spirit of fear.
10:30But of power and of love and of a sound mind.
10:33So, don't be afraid.
10:35Because if you are afraid.
10:37You understand and you know who is the leader of that.
10:40Who is the leader of that pack.
10:45Now, don't be afraid.
10:48Because check this out.
10:50Change is going to come.
10:52Because nothing lasts forever.
10:54And nothing ever stays the same.
10:56We are constantly in motion.
10:58We are vibrating.
10:59And we are constantly in movement.
11:02Even if you're sitting still.
11:03Trust and believe that you are moving.
11:07Time is going to pass whether you like it or not.
11:10Because you can sit in that chair.
11:12You can sit and continue to keep doing what you're doing.
11:17Not getting up.
11:18Not making a move.
11:20Not doing anything.
11:21You can sit there as long as you like.
11:22But trust and believe that time is going to continue to pass by.
11:27Whether you like it or not.
11:29So, with that being said.
11:31You know that change is going to come.
11:34Because it's inevitable.
11:35Change is always going to come.
11:37Whether it's in you.
11:37Whether it's in somebody else.
11:38Whether it's in your circumstance.
11:40Change is definitely going to come.
11:42And there's a song.
11:43Change is going to come.
11:46Time is going to pass by.
11:48Whether you like it or not.
11:49Because there is nothing that you can do about it.
11:53So, you know that change is going to come.
11:55You know that you're going to change over a period of time.
11:58You know that time is going to pass by.
11:59Whether you like it or not.
12:01So, why not get ready?
12:02Why not go ahead and take that step?
12:04What do they say?
12:05Why not go ahead and take that leap of faith?
12:09You don't have to get ready.
12:10A lot of times we get into this hustle and this bustle and this let's go ahead and switch up
12:15and let's go ahead and change up because we weren't ready and we weren't prepared.
12:18So, now God go ahead and does what he does and forces his hand and switches things up and life
12:25happens and now you're forced to go ahead and make a change and get ready.
12:29So, why not just stay ready so you don't have to get ready and what are you afraid of?
12:34Like I said, are you afraid of yourself or you're afraid of other people or you're afraid that whatever this
12:40situation is, it just may not work?
12:43What are the other excuses that are out there?
12:46Because I'm sure that there are plenty.
12:48Again, I don't know who I'm speaking to.
12:50I'm only speaking from real life experiences, but I've been there before.
12:53Next year is going to be the year for me.
12:55This summer is going to be this summer for me.
12:57I'm going to eventually leave when X, Y, and Z happens.
13:01One more time that this person disrespects me.
13:04One more time that this situation shows up and presents itself.
13:07I'm going to go ahead and make it.
13:09Again, how many other excuses are out there?
13:16Guess what?
13:17Tomorrow might be the day.
13:18So, like I said before, if you stay ready, you ain't got to get ready.
13:23And what are you afraid of?
13:24Because God has not given us a spirit of fear.
13:27But of power and of love and of a sound mind.
13:31And I'm not saying to go out there and do anything reckless.
13:33Yes, get up in prayer.
13:35Get wrapped up in meditation.
13:37Ask your higher power.
13:38What is it that I need to learn in this lesson here today?
13:40Because there's something that I need to learn.
13:42Because if I continue to stay in the same situation, if I continue to stay stuck, and if I continue
13:49to stay being afraid, but wanting something different.
13:53Afraid, but wanting something different.
13:56Not moving, but wanting something different.
13:57We already know what that definition is.
14:00Because if you hung out here long enough, you know that that is the definition of insanity.
14:04Waking up every single day, wanting and hoping for different results while you continuously sit there and do the same
14:13thing day after day, day in and day out, and expecting things to change.
14:17Ladies and gentlemen, that is the definition of insanity.
14:21And again, I don't know who I'm speaking to.
14:23I'm only speaking from real life experiences.
14:25But I will tell you one thing that assures my name is what it is.
14:29I am in my right frame of mind today.
14:30And I will tell you, because God has not given me a spirit of fear.
14:35But I am power, and I am love, and Lord knows that I have a sound mind.
14:40Song of the day.
14:42Aaron Hall, Don't Be Afraid, 1991, off of the Juice soundtrack.
14:57Well, we're going to go on tonight.
14:59I'm going to tell you that this episode here is going to be a powerful episode because so many people
15:08can relate to it.
15:09I have been in this situation before, and I'm sure it's going to come up as we go ahead and
15:14go through this here.
15:16But I remember being at the height of my career years ago.
15:25And retail, of course.
15:27Of course.
15:27I remember not being challenged.
15:29And I said, God, I don't know what it is that you want me to do, but I know that
15:36this right here, what I'm doing is not me.
15:38It's not who I am.
15:41So go ahead.
15:42Use me.
15:43Use my life experiences and the stuff that I've been through all the way from a child growing up to
15:49go ahead and help somebody else break through.
15:51I want to mentor.
15:53I want to mentor.
15:54I want to coach.
15:54I want to teach.
15:55And I want to help other people.
15:58We're talking maybe 2000.
16:05Let's see.
16:08Anywhere between 15 and 18 that I said something like that.
16:15Look what happened.
16:17I had no idea.
16:18But look what happened.
16:20And out of 2015 to 18, I was feeling that way.
16:26Interesting.
16:27And it took all of these years later for things to show up.
16:31And I was just afraid at that moment.
16:34And I didn't know.
16:36I didn't know who I was.
16:37It was a powerful episode tonight.
16:40Go ahead and hit that like button, subscribe, tag a friend, text a friend, invite them in.
16:46You never know who's going to get that breakthrough.
16:49And the breakthrough is actually coming through you by you sharing.
16:53So definitely go ahead and do that.
16:55And in the meantime, we're going to go ahead and reach out to my friend, author, poet, Birdman313.
17:16What's going on?
17:19How's it going?
17:21It's going.
17:22It's going.
17:22It's going.
17:23It's definitely fall over here where I'm at.
17:27How are you doing?
17:29I'm doing good, man.
17:30You know, it's 83, 84, which is good.
17:35It's good.
17:35So it's very, that's a very relaxing temperature down here because there's no humidity.
17:44Well, listen, I would love it to be 80s over here.
17:49When I wake up in the morning, it's like 40s, 50s.
17:55Yeah.
17:55I, you know, I have friends that be family and friends be telling me that.
17:59And I'm like, okay, then.
18:01And then when I, you know, they'd be like, hey, man, you know, that's not fair.
18:06I'm like, hey, man, I just say life was fair.
18:09You know, so, you know, but yeah, man, everything going well, man.
18:15I got my, I got my video program back up and worked.
18:18I had to do a little maintenance on it again, troubleshooting.
18:23And I just finished a video today.
18:27So one that was what I was going to do two weeks ago.
18:30And I just finished it today.
18:32Yeah.
18:33That's good.
18:34I've been writing.
18:34So, you know, just really the same old, same old listening music, writing videos, you know, just staying busy.
18:44I have been getting coached.
18:46Now I am a financial coach, but I have been getting coached by my coaches.
18:51And let me tell you, I have been being held accountable by my coaches and I definitely do appreciate them
19:00sometimes.
19:00Sometimes, you know, they, they bring me to the fire and say, okay, listen, we need to be doing X,
19:06Y, and Z.
19:07So ladies and gentlemen, everybody, even the coach needs a coach.
19:12So that's, I've been studying, studying, trying to make this thing, not trying, let me back up.
19:20We don't use the word try, just pulling things together and getting myself together.
19:26I have a friend of, man, me and this dude, it's funny how we met.
19:33I've heard so many bad things about him.
19:36And, you know, man, he's the coolest guy in the world.
19:38Him and his wife welcome me to their home whenever I go to Austin.
19:42She'll cook.
19:44You know, I mean, and, you know, he's giving me advice along the way.
19:49And every once in a while, he just say, hey, are you doing anything?
19:54And I'm like, yeah, I said, go ahead and look at Instagram.
19:57And he said, he said, I already have.
19:59He said, that's all I want to know.
20:01As long as you're still doing what you're doing, he said, I want you to continue.
20:05And, you know, just like with the nature stuff, I said I was going to get away from it.
20:09He said, no, no, no, no, no.
20:11He said, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
20:14He said, that's what people, especially up here in Austin, they like because you're going to bring nature to the
20:24stage.
20:24So I'm like, yeah, okay.
20:26But he checks on me.
20:27I check on him.
20:29He's a few years older than me.
20:31You know, we check on each other.
20:33That's good.
20:34That's good.
20:35Yeah.
20:35Yeah, it's always good to have somebody give you words of encouragement, hold you.
20:41to to to being basically keeping you accountable to the to the things that you've agreed to do
20:48right right yeah because it's it's life you know sometimes we just are like whatever
20:56i know for me i love to uh take in a lot of information i love to learn
21:02but every now and then i don't know what it's called or what the term is but it's like almost
21:08like a overload to where yeah i'm just like all right i don't want to be bothered with nothing
21:13um but just nothing just and then i got to get myself out of that little
21:19well you know i i feel like this that uh every once in a while it's good to take a
21:28break
21:29yeah yeah because i mean i remember i had said something one time when that's when i was
21:35really on facebook a lot and it was a high school well actually been knowing the lady ever since
21:43kindergarten she passed away though now and i had made a comment and then she she was like
21:50uh i don't know why you feel like you're not doing enough she said because every time i look around
21:55you're posting a poem you're doing a book you're doing this you're doing that she said you're doing
22:01a lot and she said you just don't know it and i sit back and i thought about that and
22:07i'm like
22:07well i guess you're right
22:10well i guess brown has a quote he says you can't see the picture
22:15when you're in the frame right you can't see what everybody else sees
22:21i've given up because i've like i would say i would down stuff like downplay things and people
22:29would be like you have no idea i've given up on all that of that type of talk because you
22:35never
22:35know what somebody else sees you never know what impact you have on other people and i've learned
22:39that so i'm like all right that's cool let me get out of that mind frame yeah because you can't
22:44can't see get a picture frame right then it was another uh poet and she made comments she said
22:52every time i look around you posting pictures you posting this uh you need to be doing other things
22:57and i'm like a lot of people criticize i'm you know that's not a reason why i got off of
23:02facebook
23:03because i was getting so many criticism for the things i was doing and i'm like i'm not hurting
23:08nobody about you don't have you don't have to look at my pictures if you don't want to
23:12you don't have to look at my videos or my poems and i'm like you know what skip this i'll
23:17go
23:17somewhere elsewhere people appreciate it you know well no they can unfollow too like you don't need
23:24to look at it if you don't like it you can unfollow yep yep yep well let's see here we
23:33are going to
23:35where are we headed to tonight annapolis that annapolis yeah i don't know you know
23:42and when i was in school and even to this day i don't like saying that name because
23:46it trips me up a little bit so i'm glad you said it that's where we go okay
23:53when you look when you look at it i'm like it don't look like what it sounds like so i
23:59used to
23:59always get tripped up with it and i'm like whatever so yeah you ever been there before
24:06yes i have been through it around it and hey
24:13ain't nothing there it's all right it's it's all right i have i have i have a few friends from
24:18my
24:18hometown and a few friends from college that well i shouldn't i don't know why i say friends
24:23people i know that live there so okay all right
24:30all right so let's go we gonna help out miss monica monica says i've been working for the
24:36same company for almost 12 years i know the job inside and out i know what my paycheck will look
24:41like i know when my benefits will renew and how much my vacation time i have available on paper i'm
24:48doing fine i have steady income health insurance and a retirement account i pay my bills oh that one
24:56jump really quick i pay my bills y'all gotta excuse me i'm gonna have to give myself a game
25:05over for
25:05that one that's no good we're gonna stay we're gonna we're gonna get focused this is the digital
25:12stuff and maybe if i stop reading it off of my phone anyway on paper i'm doing fine i have
25:19steady
25:19income health insurance and a retirement account i pay my bills on time most of the months
25:25and i've built a life around knowing that money will arrive every every friday every other friday
25:32but lately i've been asking myself whether stability has become an excuse to stay somewhere i've
25:40outgrown i've wanted to consulting business for years i've taken courses
25:44this reason had a few people offer to become the opportunity is real i'm not expecting to become rich
25:53overnight and i know running a business comes with uncertainty but i believe i have the skills
25:59to build something of my own the problem is that my current lifestyle depends on my current paycheck
26:05i have a mortgage a car payment student loans and family responsibilities my savings could cover a few
26:11months of my savings could cover a few months of expenses but not enough for me to feel comfortable
26:21walking away from a reliable salary every time i consider leaving i think about everything that
26:26could go wrong what if clients take longer to pay than expected what if business is slow what happens
26:33to my health insurance will i be able to keep contributing to my retirement then i think about
26:39staying another five realize i've myself a chance my friends tell me to take the leap my mother says i
26:47should be
26:47grateful for a secure job my co-workers think i'm crazy for even considering leaving and i'm caught between
26:55two fears the fear of losing what i have and the fear of never becoming what i know i'm capable
27:01of
27:01recently i've realized i've been treating this decision like i have only two choices stay where i am forever
27:08or quit tomorrow and hope everything works out maybe there is another option maybe i can prepare before i make
27:15the move
27:16but that means being honest about my expenses reducing some of my obligations building more savings and
27:23testing whether this business can generate more consistent income before well this is something else
27:30before i depend on it i also means it also means accepting that i may have to delay some things
27:38i want
27:39now to create the options i want later i don't want to have a reckless decision just to prove that
27:46i'm brave
27:47but i don't want to fear i don't want the fear to make my decision for me either
27:53so what do you have there
27:56first of all she got too many maybes she got too much going on about what she want to do
28:03i mean this is something i i had to think hard about it because if you had asked me maybe
28:09sunday
28:09about this you'd been saying wow what is he thinking of you to ask me monday you'll say oh he
28:16didn't
28:16change but each day i've changed on this but i've come down to say she has too many maybes and
28:25the obvious thing is if she wants to do this quit talking about it i've always been told if you're
28:33going to do something just do it and don't talk about it because she already has one foot out the
28:41door and she don't even know it it's either by choice or the company already knows and they'll push
28:50your own out and they say okay since you you don't know what you want to do we're going to
28:55give you
28:55the opportunity to do it you know but if she was really really smart about it she wouldn't be telling
29:03so many different people about it and or she would just say i'ma i'ma do this part-time
29:12and build up from from the part-time standard to when she would say okay i can do this and
29:21i can let
29:22this job go no matter if it takes her because most businesses most businesses that i because i've tried
29:30to go on my own and i've heard a lot of people say it takes a it takes five years
29:36to really see any
29:39you know any kind of uh change or improvement but the first two years it's going to be it's going
29:46to
29:46be rough for her and i've heard i know people who had businesses who started their own business and
29:54a lot of them say i should have started this off part-time and then work my way up to
30:01full-time
30:04and you know she's saying her friends is telling her that yes and i've been through all that too
30:11where friends will say i'm gonna do this i'm gonna back you up and then when the time comes you
30:16can't
30:17find them wow i like how you said that she should stop telling people and this is just not even
30:26just
30:27for her this is just anybody out there in general that whenever you want to do something it's probably
30:33best that you don't tell anybody you don't you let your results speak and you let your results do all
30:40the shouting and you let your results do all of the bragging you don't need to tell everybody about
30:46it because first of all it hasn't shown up in reality yet there's something that you're thinking
30:53in your mind and you have to focus and you have to do things to make it become a reality
30:59and the people that are just so close to you they will be the mains one to discourage you and
31:04to
31:04put you in a bad state where you will even forget about or you'll discourage your own self or you'll
31:12go along with their plan or you'll start to vibrate on their frequency and start to
31:17think ill will about your own self so you got to be very careful about that and if you have
31:24an idea
31:24that you happen to do slip up and you do tell somebody and they say that you're crazy you're out
31:30of
31:30control how do you think that this is going to happen you know just like what we read here
31:34some of her friends said that um the mom said you should be thankful that you have a secure job
31:39that's a mother thing to say but whenever you get that that's probably the thing that you should be
31:47doing if people start to say that it's out of control you can't make it you can't do it this
31:53is
31:53outrageous have you ever heard of anybody doing it and the answer probably is no because you're the
31:59one who probably should be doing it yep and you know she didn't mean to cut in i'm sorry no
32:08go ahead
32:08no but but what what dawned on me is the fact that she's telling her employee people she work with
32:17that's the worst people to tell because it's somebody in there that don't like her
32:24let's say huh i know how to get her out of here and that that happens for real she thinks
32:31she got
32:31friends at work what she really don't she really don't because always a jealous person of what you do
32:41and they want what you have she says she got a steady income and then she said she may have
32:47to
32:48cut back on some of the things that she have now oh you you will have to cut back because
32:53you know what
32:54you already said when people be late and right now in this economy this is not the best time this
33:03is not
33:03the best time to try to go off on your own because i'm sorry to say it like that it's
33:09not it's not
33:11trying to defeat what she want but if you look at the economy people starting business six months later
33:19boom they gone and then what's she gonna do she gonna go back to the company no because the company
33:24ain't gonna have her because they're gonna say well you was here you didn't appreciate what you had
33:30so you know what no you can't they ain't gonna tell her that but they're gonna tell each other
33:35that when they see her name they're gonna say no she was here you know she she had 12 years
33:42she had built up a nice little you know she got insurance hey she gotta think about when she go
33:48out
33:49on own she wanted to pay for her own insurance and then she got you know she said she got
33:55that nice
33:56little retirement fund oh guess what you go out on your own that retirement fund gonna end because
34:02you know what what you was making you ain't gonna be able to keep that up because you're gonna have
34:07to
34:07pay for everything else that you're doing yes and she gotta think about oh go ahead go ahead no no
34:16i was
34:16just saying that that all of that is is true it's definitely something to think about that's why i said
34:22she should start off part-time do do you know what do it on the weekends the weekend you know
34:31do it on
34:31the weekends and see how it goes and once and and have a number of how many customers you want
34:38before
34:39you just break off and go out and say hey tell the job i'm through right right right because like
34:48i said
34:48man and in the end you know it's it's she don't realize this is jealous people right now yeah mom's
34:54gonna tell her and i don't knock the mother for what she's saying because the mother she can see things
35:02that she can't see because i you know i guess i can fall back on it i remember i applied
35:11for a job
35:13i want it but then i've had applied for like two or three jobs mom dad which one you want
35:20the most
35:21and i told him and my mom said okay then so i got a call for one of the jobs
35:28and i said i said man i
35:30don't really want this job and they paying nothing mom said well why are you gonna waste them people's
35:35time filling out the paperwork why you gonna waste your time just like that and waste your time and
35:42my dad said hey something is better than nothing you walking around here with nothing in your pockets now
35:50it may not be the high paying job that you wanted but hey it'll put some money in your pocket
35:56until these
35:57people call and then my mom hit me with something she said and wonder if they don't call you
36:03you should have a job so i i did the next morning i went to the interview they hired me
36:10right then
36:11the other company this is funny man the other company when they finally called me it was eight
36:18months later wow wow and you know my mom said oh guess who called you and i'm like i'm kind
36:26of worried
36:26then i'm like who you know and when she told me she said look at this eight months later what
36:35did i
36:36tell you if you hadn't taken this job here and i was getting raises from this company too the one
36:43i took they was giving me raises with a little small raises but hey i was moving up wow
36:49um yeah and that's why when i looked at what she said about her mother said you know you gotta
37:02you're
37:03stable and i had to think about that i'm like you know what i'm with the mother on that part
37:09there
37:11you know that's gonna happen yes yes yeah yeah i mean not that you know i don't think she's doing
37:20she's helping her mom or anything but her mom is just looking out for her i don't know about that
37:26i'm i'm gonna dig into this a little bit before we get out of here but first of all i
37:30want to back
37:30up and i want to ask you so you trying to say that she ain't got no friends at work
37:35that's what
37:35you're trying to say she ain't got no friends you want to be honest no she don't have any friends
37:44she got a few but guess what it's fewer than what she thinks she has i'm not saying that this
37:52is
37:52what happens but i was always told that you don't have friends at work you go to work to work
37:59not
37:59play so don't get caught up in that um i got i got caught up into thinking that people were
38:05my
38:05friends at work and it didn't end well but yeah so now let's back this thing up a little bit
38:13so you
38:13want to start this consulting business and but you got a mortgage okay so you definitely have to
38:20take that in consideration that mortgage gonna need to be paid you got a car payment so again now i
38:27follow the debt free you know philosophy so and this again this is just coming from my aspect but
38:37starting a business uncertainty not knowing if money is going to be coming in going out thinking of
38:45leaving your current job and you don't know what the uncertainty is you didn't start this business yet
38:52you have no idea you have a car payment that's one thing so i'm gonna start to put the brakes
38:58on
38:58but now i'm gonna come with a really hard stop because now you've actually said that you have
39:03student loans as well so i would have to say absolutely not like some of these things would
39:12probably need to be cleaned up first if i was going to do this because you're going to need to
39:18take all of
39:18that extra capital all of those extra resources that you are paying in interest for car payments
39:24and student loans to plug into the business or to keep you afloat if clients don't pay or something
39:31doesn't pan out right and then the last part you said you have family responsibilities now not one time
39:37did you mention any kids so i didn't hear anything about my daughter my son nothing like that
39:43so what family responsibilities you have are you taking care of somebody that maybe are not able
39:50to take care of themselves or are you fitting the bill are you doing something for somebody who
39:57should be doing something for themselves so i'm not quite sure what that is and then you said
40:02your savings could cover a few months of expenses so where i come from your saving months of expenses is
40:09called your emergency fund and that is for an emergency not for what you're thinking so i don't
40:17know about this yeah i'm gonna say it i'm gonna say go ahead no no no go ahead go ahead
40:24you're on the
40:24roll you're on the roll i was just gonna say i don't know about this so you thinking about playing
40:31around with the emergency i don't know about this and then you're just gonna walk away from a comfortable
40:38salary without doing the math now there's a scripture that says and i'm a paraphrase why would
40:45you build a house if you don't know how much it's going to cost you start building the house and
40:50you
40:50don't know how much it's going to cost to finish it so i believe that's in luke you might need
40:56to go
40:57ahead and start to put some numbers together and know exactly what you're going to get yourself into
41:02before you actually do it go ahead now i was going to say that that goes back to what i
41:08was saying
41:08all these maybes you know i'm in you know she said maybe there is another option maybe i can prepare
41:16before i make a move well i remember that right there shows you're not ready i don't care if you
41:24did go to
41:25school and all this stuff and study when you when you that's the part that one right there said maybe
41:31i can excuse me maybe i can prepare before i make the move i mean anybody gonna start a business
41:41they prepare first before they make any type of moves right and you know she said then it means being
41:51honest about my expenses well yeah reducing some you know my obligations building more savings and
41:58testing whether you know what she's really doing she's asking people is it all right i do this
42:08that's how she's doing she's not really ready to make that move she's asking for permission can i
42:16or do you think i could do this and you know what i have to say about that well
42:25yeah stop seeking validation and approval from outside sources you got to live with it not everybody
42:31else that's your life this is your life and that goes for everybody stop seeking validation and approval
42:37and acceptance from everybody else before you go ahead and do something for you everything starts
42:42with self it starts with you first not everybody else i'm yeah i'm glad you said that you know because
42:50i that's that's what i was trying to say i don't know if i didn't i know i didn't say
42:54it that way
42:55but you know that that was my intention on saying you know she's like i said she's not
43:03you know like you said digging into you know digging into her retirement
43:08or her savings you don't start no business like that that's that's a red flag for failure right
43:16there right i'm sorry i ain't trying to you know i ain't trying to you know you know put nobody
43:25down
43:26but i that's what i would just tell her you got too many maybes you got too many people in
43:32your mind
43:33as i'm you know she might not understand what i mean by that but it's because all this stuff that's
43:39going on all these ifs ifs ifs ifs ifs now you have to you know you have to feel that
43:48you can do this
43:50because you know what a lot of people if they thought that way they wouldn't be successful
43:58all right so i know you know it's it's i mean i i just i don't know she uh she
44:09don't want to make
44:10a reckless decision to prove just to prove i'm brave see stuff like that man she's not ready
44:18no i shouldn't say that but i shouldn't say that but you know for somebody that want to be in
44:25business
44:26all the things that she's saying is really is really she already defeated herself before she got
44:35started yeah it's you know what take all of that stuff to god before you start taking it to other
44:42people exactly yeah yeah well what you got going on this week
44:53well let's let me see tomorrow night i have three readings but i can only do two on zoom
45:02you know yeah so um i have a journal of expressive writing that's a monthly poetry reading and i'm gonna
45:13do that tomorrow from uh from six to seven thirty and then eight o'clock um i sent a poem
45:22into la poetry
45:23society for um you know they do a a weekly they do a weekly um poem and they'll choose so
45:36mines didn't get
45:37chosen to read but they asked me to come to their open mic to read it so that's just good
45:46they did accept
45:47it they did you know they accepted in a different way you know by having me to come on and
45:53read it
45:55or i have the uh poetry and music the lady that you know we write me you know been doing
46:03music together
46:05but i think i'm gonna go to la poetry society because they asked me you know and i'm just
46:13trying to keep all my open mics you know the options and uh i just gotta tell them you know
46:20hey look
46:20here this is what's up which they are really glad that other people are getting chance to hear my work

48:42and on that bird man what else you got to say to the people before we get out of here
48:47hey just be safe out there man uh you know just i guess just i would tell people keep your
48:55head on
48:55the swivel and when i say that because you never know who's creeping up on you yeah that's and the
49:03people and people you know when i say that people be like what you mean by us
49:09you never know who you never know who creates nothing bad i'm not saying you're doing anything
49:13wrong i'm just saying keep your head on the swivel pay attention to your surroundings listen i don't
49:20know if you saw that thing that you see it where uh the dude had the uh joe biden costume
49:26on and was
49:26on somebody's camera you saw that no no you definitely want to keep your head on the swivel
49:34and during this time this season you know they got halloween and stuff and people got masks and stuff
49:40on it makes it easier for them to play games but yeah yeah i'm glad we have a fence around
49:47the house
49:48man because uh if anybody crossed that fence boy they gonna have a big awakening a rude awakening
49:59hey no that's right
50:05because you ain't got no business coming across this fence
50:08and see y'all you're all different in texas so you better watch out yeah
50:12yeah
50:15and you know everybody everybody everybody has cameras around here now
50:20well he definitely went up to somebody's camera and he had a joe biden uh mask on and he had
50:26a
50:26banana in his hand and he ate the banana through the mask and he was touching he was touching the
50:34camera
50:35like rubbing his fingers across the lens of the camera so people could see
50:40and he had a shirt on that i believe had something to do with charlie kirk i don't know if
50:48it was the
50:48shirt that charlie kirk had on but a joe biden mask with a shirt with a car something to do
50:55with charlie
50:56kirk so i don't know and eating a banana and ended up eating it through the mask and was rubbing
51:02his finger
51:03on these people's camera and then walked away and i forgot to mention that he was barefoot at the same
51:10time oh man you know what people ask me oh man you go out here you go i go out
51:16here to the park all the
51:17time i'm taking pictures and video alligators you know what i feel more comfortable about
51:22but more comfortable around the alligators than i do most people
51:30that that's that's scary because you know alligators you know what they do
51:36yeah yeah and you know these these are some you know there's a couple big ones in the
51:41and all they do come they come up to the pier people feed them and that's it and like i
51:48said i
51:48feel more comfortable around them i have a lot of friends saying oh man how you how you deal with
51:53them gators i said i don't agitate them you know you know people humans you don't have to agitate them
52:00and they still they'll attack you quicker than the gator will
52:06yeah nowadays
52:10i'm sorry
52:18oh my goodness time to get on up out of here i appreciate you and i will see you soon
52:26yeah thank you man for having me on here i just try to bring a little humor so you can

52:59you know as we get out of here i was just thinking with all of the imperfections and the
53:06mishaps and the even spelling or pronouncing indianapolis i'd say i got it um all of the
53:13weird quirkiness that happens here on the show it took me a while to get into this flow state
53:20of just coming out here and just being vulnerable and being myself and that's why i know
53:26that this show is evolved into you know what it is today because
53:32there is no script i'm not sitting here you know you know playing games with it i used to be
53:38so
53:38uptight when i first started and again i like i told you i said i have coaches that
53:43that i work with and sometimes they're like laren i know how many years of experience you've
53:49had doing x y and z but people want the real you they want they don't want that professional
53:57version they they want this side of you so as i'm you know coming into all of this i know
54:05that this is
54:06you know what it's supposed to be and i want to say thank you all again as i get out
