05:17Police are investigating discovery and storage of seven human cadavers.

05:25Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the storage of seven human cadavers discovered at a compound in Central Trinidad on
05:34Thursday, the 17th of September, 2026.
05:37On Wednesday, the 18th of September, 2026, officers of the Multi-Agency Task Force, MATF, received a request from the
05:48Environmental Management Authority to visit a location off the Uriah Butler Highway, south of Courts and adjacent to Conex Redimix
06:01Limited.
06:01At approximately 10.40 a.m. on Thursday, MATF officers and AMA personnel proceeded to the location where they met
06:12an individual who identified himself as the operator of an establishment on the compound.
06:17He was informed of the AMA report and an inspection of the premises, an inspection of the premises was conducted
06:26and during the inspection, officers discovered seven human cadavers being stored in a refrigeration unit within a building on the
06:39compound.
06:40The individual was asked to provide documentation relating to the identities of the deceased persons and the authority under which
06:51the cadavers were being kept at the location.
06:54He wasn't able at the time to produce the requested documentation.
07:01Senior Sub-Bagwandine of the Central Division was subsequently contacted for the assignment of an investigator and crime scene investigators,
07:11Superintendent Passat of the Homicide Bureau Investigations Unit, Region 2, was also contacted and a team was dispatched to the
07:20location.
07:21At this stage, at this stage, the investigation is focused on establishing the identities of the deceased persons, how the
07:34cadavers came to be at the location, and whether all legal and regulatory requirements governing the possession of those cadavers,
07:44handling and storage of the human remains were observed.
07:48Inquiries are indeed being continued to determine whether any breaches of the law or applicable regulations occurred.
07:59Further information will be provided as the investigation progresses.

08:12Now, I understand we have some great news today, because remember yesterday we spoke about Flip the Script, and we
08:20had the launch, and since the launch, I understand there are approximately 15 students who signed up for the police
08:28youth band.
08:30All right, and that means they're interested, they want to be involved, activities are happening, I'm seeing you smile on
08:37your face, so that is a plus.
08:38You know, the smile is there because, you know, it's nice to see the youth and their interest in positive
08:44things.
08:45And going forward, let me say, Flip the Script, we want to include, be a buddy, not a bully.

08:54So, 15 students signed up for a new police youth band as the Flip the Script initiative rolls out in
09:00schools, so today it was launched.
09:03The newly launched Flip the Script initiative struck early success on its first day of the rollout today,
09:10when 15 students of the Union-Klaxon Bay Secondary School signed up to join the proposed police youth band.
09:19This, after officers of the Community Oriented Policing Secretariat, the police band, and the St. Margaret's Police Station,
09:26alongside personnel of the Corporate Communications Unit and the Audiovisual Unit, which I supervise,
09:33visited the school today, Friday 18th, September 2026, and interacted with and engaged 200 students on school violence and anti
09:44-bullying.
09:44The event was hosted by PC Okichi Berbal and featured a special appearance by the Flip the Script teacher ambassador,
09:53Mr. Stefan Filmin.
09:54You all know him from the commercial.
09:55That is him there.
09:56He cannot teach in all this noise.
09:58Also in attendance was social worker slash parent, Mrs. Arlene Smith.
10:03Corporal Bremner of the Cups explained some of the common offenses that take place in schools
10:09and gave the students tips on how to identify acts of assaults, indecent assaults, robbery, and possession of narcotics.
10:16Students then listened with rapt attention to the life story of a rehabilitated motivational speaker,
10:26Mr. Michael Sennon, who spoke about spending 31 years in prison in the United States of America
10:35due to bad choices he made in his youth.
10:39I want persons to pay attention.
10:41They must understand that you can't change around your life.
10:46You can't get second chances, but you must want it.
10:50He urged them to take their education seriously, saying,
10:53if you don't do what you need to do in school now, you will be left behind in the future.
10:59Staying in school will ensure you stay away from prison.
11:03Leader of the St. Margaret's Police Youth Club, WPC Rogers Fleming,
11:07meanwhile encouraged the youth to join the Police Youth Club,
11:11saying that it is a place where you can gather, create, and foster relationships and friendships
11:18and also improve leadership skills because we want the youth to understand
11:23we are depending on them to lead us properly in the years to come.
11:27Registration forms were provided to the students to facilitate them becoming members of the St. Margaret's Police Youth Club.

11:39of the TTPS band introduced the students to the individual instruments used by members
11:45and they were treated to a few notes from each.
11:49The sampling of the notes was intended to help the students decide which instruments they liked
11:55and would want to learn to play in the Police Youth Band to create harmonious and moving music.
12:04The TTPS rounded out their engagement with lively musical performance to the delight of students and teachers.
12:10In the end, their talent and skills prompted 15 young minds to flip the script in their lives
12:17and sign up for entrance into the Police Youth Band Initiative.
12:23As the flip the script initiative moves into other schools in the coming weeks and months,
12:28students are encouraged to take a step in the positive direction in their lives
12:34and sign up to be a member of a police youth club in their district
12:41or become a member of the Police Band.

12:48Yes, I mean, that is fantastic work and I'm hoping that the parents also find out
12:54about the officers being in those schools.
12:56I believe it will, you all will announce moving forward, the schools that you all will be involved in.
13:00There's about 17 schools in all and a well integral component,
13:07especially for those who have boy children, is the mentorship program by the men's group
13:13of trying to do the police service under Mr. Benjamin.
13:15So, you know, we are here and we are willing to help you all.
13:19Do not give up on the children.
13:20Just engage us.
13:21Get them involved in the Police Youth Club.
13:23We do the rest.
13:23You know what I like as well?
13:25We are hearing, yes, the police presence will be already in some of the schools throughout the country.
13:31And in this way, it is not in the capacity that persons hear the officers being there to guard
13:37and make sure that nobody comes into the school and nobody fights in,
13:40but more so making it in a safe space for the younger ones to get involved and understand.
13:47You could start prepping for your life.
13:49And this could be the first stage.
13:50This could also go on your resume when you get ready to leave school.
13:53We are actively, actively involved in being a change agent.
13:58And, you know, I want to encourage all these more stakeholders to come on board.
14:02You know, we can't just sit down and say, what are the youths today doing?
14:04And no one is doing anything to contribute.
14:06The police service tutor, the National Parent Teachers Association,
14:12Mr. Ali Andapaxo, DCP Benjamin with the TTPS Men's Bureau,
14:16we have taken that step together with the Ministry of Education
14:20to really, really push this program forward and give it the life that it needs
14:27and the energy and the processes that it needs so that it can be a success.
14:30And we are asking any stakeholder out there who want to come on board,
14:33feel free to communicate with us.

14:37Let's flip the script in the schools for the young minds to make sure that they can succeed
14:42in whatever they choose to do with the guidance of the TTPS and us, the citizens,

16:16service, the defense force, et cetera, and you are mandated to pass a drug test as an entry requirement into
16:25that organization, how do we get past that?
16:30That is a really good question.
16:32Yes, I want to advise persons, notwithstanding that it has been decriminalized, be careful and think.

16:41Speaking of that quickly, though, persons who smoke in any hospital marijuana?

19:09We have the Police Complaints Division.
19:11We also have the Police Complaints Authority.
19:13And I encourage persons, please, when you receive the bad service, when you get that negativity from us,
19:19please report it because if you don't report it to us, we cannot put the systems in place
19:24to have the officer trained, retooled, re-engineered, teach him how to think differently
19:30so that he could understand how to treat with the public.
19:32And as I'm on that note, I was given some disturbing news today,
19:37and I want to say hats off to the Inspector Crime, the Western Division, Inspector Grant,
19:42and all the officers in the CID and the task force of the Western Division.
19:46It was brought to my attention today, and I'm asking persons to please look out for the senior citizens.
19:51Senior citizens, I'm asking you and I'm reminding you, please be careful.
19:56Nobody from the banking institutions would call you on the telephone
20:01and ask you for your PIN, your address, your ID, or to withdraw or transfer any money.

40:17when it comes to making sure they get the individuals who are distressing a lot of us.
40:23So according to the TTPS media release, six robbery suspects arrested, gun seized and
40:28anti-crime exercises.
40:29Now, police arrested six people, including two teenage boys suspected of a robbery and
40:35seized a gun in separate anti-crime exercises between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
40:41Now, in the first incident, officers conducted Operation Resolute Shield in the Enterprise,
40:47Londonville, Chagornos, Charleyville and Carony Police Districts between 4pm and 8pm on Thursday,
40:54the 17th of September, 2026.
40:57This is all before the SOE was over.
41:00So, you know, the officers were out and doing what they had to do.
41:02Now, based on intelligence, the party proceeded to a bushy area along Carony, North Bank Road,
41:08Carony, approximately 100 metres into the bushes.
41:12Officers observed an unoccupied makeshift wooden structure in which they found a black plastic bag.
41:20Further check of the bag revealed a homemade shotgun with a quantity of assorted ammunition.
41:25Now, meanwhile, between 10pm on Thursday, that is, and 2am Friday, officers on patrol in the North Central Division conducted
41:36a roving road check as part of Operation Summer Shield.
41:41Now, with that, around 12.40am, officers received a report that suspects in a recent robbery had been spotted walking
41:51near Scott Street in St. Augustine.
41:54A party of officers swiftly arrived, identified themselves and arrested the men.
42:00They then went to another location in St. Augustine where they met four more people who were also arrested.
42:06And this is what is disturbing. The suspects included two boys, aged 14 and 15, as well as two men,
42:14aged 18 and 20, all from St. Augustine.
42:18And other two suspects, two men who were ages 21 and 23, both from Aruka.
