03:14Good evening, Trinidad.
03:16Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago international audience and of course our brothers and sisters in Grenada. This is Beyond the
03:21Tape and I am Whitney Husbands. Now today, just today alone, we have a switch up. In for Mr. Ali,
03:28we have ASP Russell and tomorrow you shall see Mr. Ali. So with that being said, on a Wednesday, I
03:37guess maybe that's why I have this big smile on my face because you're here. I'm not sure. But we
03:41don't know he might be here.
03:43You see? He started already. But nonetheless, we are here with ASP Russell. Good evening to you, sir. How are
03:50you?
03:51Good evening, Miss Husbands. Good evening, Jackie. Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago, the U.S., Canada, Grenada, and all our
03:59international viewers on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, and First and Second Division officers of
04:06the S-Team.
04:07Oh, you're forgetting what's going on. The S-Team.
04:10Trinidad and Tobago Police Service. Note that, well, as Ms. Husbands indicated, I am holding on for Mr. Ali today.
04:17You all will have legally speaking tomorrow on Thursday.
04:19For legal discussions.
04:20Well, your legal discussions tomorrow, Godspear. So try not to go too hard on me because I may not be
04:25able to answer all the legal questions that you all are custom asking on a Wednesday.
04:31Save it for Thursday. Well, as usual, I'm happy to be here. It's a pleasure to be here. We have
04:35a lot to unpack.
04:36Yes, a lot. So I don't want to waste any time.
04:38It has been an abusive.
04:40Very much so abusive, which has been trending on social media.
04:44Not one incident, not two, but three. And we are not sure if you will see others pop up by
04:48the time we finish the show or during the show.
04:50Where are we with the main incident that has been trending on social media with this monster, this punisher, this
04:57demon who clearly didn't come from a woman?
04:59Well, let me read an official media release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.
05:06Dated the 30th of September, 2026, TTPS investigating viral video in Korea are encouraging victims of domestic abuse to speak
05:19up.
05:19The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service is aware of a video circulating on social media which shows a man seated
05:26in a vehicle verbally and physically abusing and threatening a woman in the passenger seat.
05:31A report has been made to the Kuva Police Station and officers of the Special Victims Unit, Region 2, have
05:39launched an investigation.
05:41Number 19042 WPC Passat is leading that investigation.
05:46Statements are being recorded and the matter is receiving the TTPS's full attention.
05:51In the interest of the victim's dignity and privacy, members of the public are asked to refrain from further sharing
06:00the video.
06:01The TTPS takes this opportunity to speak directly to women who may be in abusive relationships.
06:10Abuse is not limited to physical violence.
06:14It includes threats, intimidation, insults, and controlling behavior, which also forms different aspects of abuse.
06:27And no one should have to endure them.
06:29The TTPS offers the following advice and I want you all to listen carefully to the advice.
06:33Report the abuse.
06:36Report the abuse.
06:38Do not sit there and continue to be victims and continue to accept this behavior.
06:42Women are supposed to be cherished.
06:45Report the abuse.
06:47Do not suffer in silence.
06:49Make a report to any police station.
06:51And please do not let the officers tell you, come back another day.
06:55They have to take your report.
06:58Understood.
07:00So you can make the report at any police station or special victims unit and allow the police to address
07:05the matter.
07:07Officers are trained to respond to domestic violence with sensitivity and confidentiality.
07:13Confide in someone you trust.
07:15Confide in someone you trust.
07:17Not someone who would relate to everybody else.
07:20Let a friend, family member, or colleague know what you're experiencing.
07:23A trusted confidant can't support you.
07:26Check on your well-being and seek help on your behalf if needed.
07:32Have a safety plan.
07:35Keep important documents, a phone and emergency contact numbers where you can reach them quickly.
07:41Agree on a code word with your confidant that signals you need help.
07:47Keep a record where it is safe to do so.
07:52Save threatening messages, voice notes, photographs, or videos.
07:57These may assist the police in an investigation.
08:02Know your options.
08:03Victims may apply to the magistrate court for a protection order under the Domestic Violence Act.
08:09Please note the following information.
08:11If you are in immediate danger, call 999.
08:16Persons may also contact Special Victims Department.
08:21Number 612, extension 0106.
08:26No, 612, 0102, extension 16064 to 68.
08:33I will repeat that number.
08:35612, 0102, extension 16064 to 68.
08:41You also have Region 1, Sinclair Police Station, Region 3, which carries extensions.
08:50The same number, 612, 0102, but extensions 660 and 1315 of the Oropoosh Police Station.
08:59Region 5, at Sanguigandi Police Station, extension 71089 to 71092.
09:10There is also the National Domestic Hotline at 800-SAVE, 800-7283.
09:18And of course, Crime Stoppers, 800-TIPS, 800-8477.
09:23The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service reminds the public that domestic violence is a crime and that help is available.
09:30Your safety matters.
09:32Now, ASP, you just mentioned the main incident that started to trend and there was another one that took place,
09:40an incident in Tobago.
09:41Now, according to the Trinidad Express, a Tobago nurse is fighting for her life in the intensive care unit after
09:48she was seriously injured during an incident at a Signal Hill home on Wednesday morning.
09:54Now, police confirm that Nakoya Bernard sustained multiple injuries during the incident and is in critical condition.
10:02Her husband, Steve Paul, was found dead at the house.
10:06The incident occurred around 7.30 a.m. at the couple's home along Mentor Drive, Signal Hill.
10:14According to preliminary reports, Bernard was attacked by her husband, who inflicted multiple chop wounds about her body.
10:23A fire was subsequently reported at the residence.
10:26Fire officers responding to the scene rescued a disabled teenager who was inside the house.
10:33Now, Bernard was taken to hospital for treatment, where she remains in the ICU.
10:39Police have not disclosed the circumstances surrounding Paul's death and investigations are continuing.
10:45Crime scene investigators were expected to process the house as police seek to determine exactly what occurred before, during and
10:54after the attack and the fire.
10:57The incident is being treated as a serious domestic violence-related investigation.
11:03This is beyond sad, Ms. Husbands.
11:06And, you know, I want to say to the women, and I know there are men out there who, they
11:10themselves, are also victims of domestic violence.
11:12We are asking, speak up.
11:15Make the necessary reports.
11:17Take the necessary actions.
11:18There are things, there are systems to help you.
11:21We are here to help you.
11:23We want you to come out and report it.
11:25I am begging you, anyone who is hearing my voice at this time, please do not remain in an abusive
11:33situation.
11:34Now, I know that domestic violence is a cycle.
11:37There is the honeymoon stage.
11:39There is the explosion stage.
11:41There is the, there's different stages.
11:43The apology, et cetera.
11:45So, you know, you tend to find, I wouldn't do it again.
11:47I wouldn't let it happen again.
11:48It was a mistake, but a lot of times it do happen on other occasions.
11:54I'm asking you, please do not remain in these relationships.
12:00Now, there was another incident as well that we saw that was trending on social media, and this took place
12:05outside of a maxi-taxi.
12:06Of course, we are asking persons this, if your discretion is advised here, and you could see the altercation is
12:13happening between a man and a woman, and it escalates where it seems like something, what the woman is trying
12:21to get from the man, and he was not having it.
12:24And we're seeing here how it escalated into being thrown in the bushes, and then he proceeds to remain on
12:35top of her and physically harm the woman.
12:40Now, you know what is disturbing to me, ASP, after these incidents that we're seeing, and it's trending, and I'm
12:47seeing the comments on social media, because that's where we see almost everything happening in the moment.
12:54Where some men are saying there was something that this woman, or some of these women continue to do to
13:00aggravate or provoke a man.
13:04And I'm trying to understand how does that work.
13:07I'm not buying that.
13:08How does that work?
13:08I am not buying that.
13:10Men have to be leaders.
13:11Men have to be adults.
13:12And if you're in a situation where you think, or you know that you're being abused, or you think you
13:21may react, you have the authority to walk away.
13:23Correct.
13:24You can walk away.
13:27Trinidad and Tobago, nothing is wrong.
13:30Men, nothing is wrong with walking away.
13:37Nothing is wrong.
13:38Feel free to walk away.
13:39Feel free to make a report.
13:41Females, I advise you to do the same.
13:43Come, make a report.
13:45Call your family member.
13:46I know most times the females are indeed the victims.
13:49I'm speaking to you all.
13:51Please do not take this kind of behavior.
13:54Do not accept this.
13:56And I know no one is exempted, because, Ms. Husbands, I've heard horror stories from all walks, all classes, religion,
14:05creed, professions.
14:07And I can say it's something that exists in the TTPS, as well as I'm not even exempt in my
14:14organization.
14:14I've heard horror stories.
14:16We just saw a bit of what takes place when the both parties are in an intimate space, and you
14:22just hear about it.
14:23And sometimes, to me, I will say this, because we have to move on.
14:26That the gentlemen, when you see your friends or the girlfriends coming to the friends and letting them know that
14:34your boy or your bedroom is being abusive to me and all, they're just ignoring it.
14:38Ignoring it.
14:38You saw for yourself what really happens when they walk away, and sometimes they don't want to believe that their
14:44friend is like that.
14:45Because in circles, with them, the friend is not like that.
14:47And in work, the friend is not like that.
14:49The friend is like the best worker ever, the best friend ever.
14:52But in relationships, they may be a monster.
14:55The demonic.
14:56Yeah, yeah.
14:56And I totally agree.
14:57Well, I hope never to be a victim of that.
15:03I mean, I have two daughters, and I would not like it for them.
15:06And these are the things I always think about.
15:08I am Mr. Walk Away.
15:10I don't want to have you.
15:12Can I have you discuss something with me?
15:13I live by myself.
15:14I love my peace.
15:15Yeah, you move right along.
15:17I love my peace.
15:17Now, we had an incident that took place on September 25th.
15:21Now, this location is unknown, but the vehicle was stolen, and it just goes to show how brave individuals are.
15:59And they don't care.
16:01But those vehicles, we have a problem with those vehicles, because they are common vehicles.
16:08It's the Kia, the K2700s and the H100s, which are the Hyundai ones.
16:13And they are common for that.
16:15I don't know.
16:15I guess it's very easy.
16:17I had a close friend of mine who parked his own outside his bedroom window, where he sleeps.
16:25And they stole the vehicle.
16:27He had a test of the terrain device, a tracker in the vehicle.
16:32And they were able to.
16:32I don't know what device they used, because they said it could not have been the person where he bought
16:37it,
16:37because they gave him the tracker to put wherever he was to put it.
16:41He said, where he placed it, they found it, left it and found it, and they went with the vehicle.
16:45They left it in front of his door, and they went with the vehicle.
16:48Now, you know also, ASP, there are devices, and this is for many persons who have pushed to start vehicles,
16:54where there are these devices now that the criminal elements are using to scan.
16:58So if your key is close by, let's say you might leave it by the entrance of your door,
17:04close to your bedroom, bedside, they could scan and pick up your key,
17:09and it allows them to open your vehicle and start your vehicle.
17:12Yes, it is very, how do I put it, boy?
17:17It is a norm in the UK with respect to a certain high-end vehicle.
17:23So much so that that particular company had to form their own insurance company
17:27to ensure that they keep their sales market up.
17:32Otherwise, because their sales had started to decline because of the theft,
17:35there's another familiar vehicle that has been making the wrongs more.
17:37So in Canada, a Toyota product.
17:42So, you know, I'm asking persons to just, I mean, what else could he have done, you know what I
17:47mean?
17:47What else?
17:48It's behind the gate, the gate is locked, everything.
17:51You know, what else?
17:52And then these vehicles now.
17:54You can see it's an electric gate because you see the motor down there.
17:56Yeah, see, they shut it off, more than likely.
17:59Yeah, but this is crazy.
18:00A barefoot bandit just came in and took what he thought, or he believes this is,
18:05this is a brand new vehicle.
18:06T-E-K, it looks like.
18:08Yes, T-E-K.
18:09And that's what, how long, five minutes, seven minutes?
18:12It's so long.
18:13Not even, that's too long.
18:15Shorter than that.
18:16Yeah, way, way shorter than that.
18:18But I hope that we get more information on that and the TTPS could intervene and, you know,
18:22find a way of getting marked the vehicle.
18:24But right now it's time for us to take a look at what's making today's headlines.
19:14And those are your stories making today's headlines.
19:16Just a reminder, not too late for you to attend your town meetings today,
19:20which is happening in the Belmont area.
19:22As we speak, it started at 6 o'clock.
19:24Remember, you could watch a repeat of beyond the tape.
19:26Make sure your presence is felt there.
19:28And also in the QREP area, the North Central Division, it already started at 6.
19:32So please, again, go show your face, speak to the officers,
19:36let them know your concerns and how you can assist the TTPS
19:39as the relationship continues moving forward.
19:41We take your calls on more when we come back after this.
19:56We all know that not only fists but wounds can beat you down.
20:02You don't have to believe what the bullies say you are.
20:06You can become whoever you choose to be.
20:08Never alone lies and insults will stop you from shining.
20:12It's time to make a change.
20:14Be a body, not a bully.
20:16Tell us something.
20:18Tell us something.
20:24For 50 years we've had a front row seat
20:27To the life you've built
20:29We've seen a house become your home
20:32An idea become reality
20:35Your hard work create new possibilities
20:38And the business that grew because you kept going
20:41When we've seen your milestones become moments to protect what's yours
20:46Build together
20:56The earth's surface is 71% water
20:59But only 1% is fresh and drinkable
21:03Globally, 1 in 3 people don't have access to clean drinking water
21:07And with climate change, that number is expected to increase
21:11So, how do we turn the tide?
21:14Desalination
21:16Transforming sea water into drinkable fresh water
21:18Through a process of reverse osmosis
21:21For use in our homes, agriculture and industry
21:26It's not just about providing water
21:28It's ensuring it's of the highest quality
21:30To do this, the plant must undergo preventative maintenance and improvements twice a year
21:35This week we're upgrading our processes
21:37To ensure that we are as efficient and eco-friendly as possible
21:43These rigorous standards ensure the health of our fellow citizens

24:22And I know for those of you now joining us, you're wondering what's happening.
24:25We have ASP Russell in today.
24:27And tomorrow you will see Mr. Ali for the legal discussions.
24:30We have a call on Hall.
24:31Caller, good evening.
24:32Good evening, good evening, miss.
24:34Good evening to you, sir.
24:36And a very, very good evening to ASP Russell.
24:39Good evening, sir.
24:41ASP Russell, I'm at you this evening.
24:44First of all, I want you to convey my congratulations to the police service, the minister of defense, and the
24:55COP for getting rid of $1.5 billion in confiscated drugs, cocaine, etc.
25:06What you all did there is something I think people don't know as significant.
25:12Some of the Monos Island drug has been disposed of.
25:16And what you all have done is to prevent some of your colleagues who have sticky hands in the police
25:24office, in the police service, from replacing the drugs with bricks, and at the same time, we're not feeding the
25:32rats and the cocaine.
25:34So please convey that tremendous sort of food.
25:38The other thing I want to think, and this is for the whole national fraternity, I have criticized constructively the
25:51police service with respect to development and human resources.
25:55And I was disappointed with ACP being promoted or made an acting DCP in Parliament today.
26:11And I want to say the police service commissioners are complicit, compromise, or don't read.
26:19Go back to the JLFC report on the day of policing, that particular officer played a major role in that.
26:28And he was tight-lipped when he was brought before to answer the question, who were the culprit in it?
26:36And I am saying, and I'm calling on the president, the hands of the government is tied, because they delivered
26:43that list of two persons.
26:46DCP Benjamin, I'm happy with it, because I interface with him regularly on your program, and I ask him some
26:51hard questions.
26:52But I have really few.
26:54That is why the opposition voted against him.
26:57They understood what he did in the JLFC, and he was tight-lipped.
27:02But they didn't do anything about it.
27:04They let him go up the hierarchy.
27:06That is what I said.
27:07The leadership of the police service needs to be satisfied.
27:10I go on and listen up here.
27:12All right.
27:12Thank you so much, sir.
27:13Yes, P.
27:15Respect to the first part, and I understand what the caller is saying, that he's happy to say that we
27:21destroy the amount of drugs.
27:23And I heard all of his comments.
27:24And my number of husbands, if I'm being honest with TTPs, we had to take that.
27:29Because, of course, when we charge officers, it's in the media.
27:33So I know that there are officers who passed in times gone by, and even not too long ago, who
27:40we charge for things around this.
27:42So I want the officers to understand, looking at the program, when they do the wrong things, we had to
27:51face the embarrassment.
27:52Not just the officer, but the entire TTPs looks bad.
27:56So caller, I'm going to take that.
27:58I had to take it, right?
28:00Because we would have done wrong as well.
28:03With respect to the other situation, with respect to the acting appointments, the vice parliament, and the bench-rich processes,
28:12it was voted upon.
28:13And this is where we are, sir.
28:15Correct.
28:16Now, it's time for us to flip the script this evening, ASP, because I saw that the initiative continues, and
28:23it was in the Diggle Martin Secondary.
28:26North, I give the right location, which is Diggle Martin North Secondary, last week.
28:32So let's take a look and see what took place.
28:39How does the police services flip the script program as teachers?
28:44How will that program affect our students?
28:48Well, for one, I think, and I'm grateful for the police service doing this, it's a very good and positive
28:54initiative.
28:55Sometimes, persons come from an environment, and they think that there are no other opportunities outside of what they experience
29:02at home.
29:03But when the police come into a school and let students know that there are many other outlets for them,
29:08it shows them that, hey, you can indeed be something, even if it's not academic.
29:14Yes.
29:14So, this is an anti-violence campaign, right?
29:23And what we are focusing on is whatever happens in the past, we will need to be fast, and we're
29:30focusing on the future.
29:33But in a positive aspect, right?
29:37So, from throwing a stone in a fight, right, which we think that there, you have to go home and
29:42everything cool now, we laugh, we record it and whatnot, guess what?
29:45The individual that threw the stone, guess what happening to him right now?
29:49In jail, but for what?
29:51For murder.
29:52I want y'all to understand, I went to prison when I was 20 years old, and I came out
29:58of prison when I was 51.
30:01You only got one life.
30:03You only got one opportunity to make this right.
30:07What I want to tell you is this.
30:09Don't be like me, be better than me.
30:12Don't do as I do, do better than me.
30:25Martin North Secondary!
30:26Yes!
30:28I get permission from all the press, let's give you a little jump up.
30:31All you see?
30:32Yes!
30:33All you ask them, say no.
30:34Yes!
30:35All you ready to dance a little bit?
30:37Yes!
30:39Yes!
30:43Yes!
30:47Yes!
30:56What do you think about the Slip Descript and did you enjoy the program here with the officers?
31:01So I would say that it is a good program.
31:06It motivates students to do more and it is also fun and it's not boring.
31:13So we're more interested and invested in what is going on.
31:18Students have the function here today.
31:21Members who serve in jail and think and change their life and came out better.
31:27I learned that anything in life that you can achieve once you work hard for it.
31:35So the police services Flip Descript program is definitely something you think that would have a positive impact on our
31:40country?
31:41Yes, 100%.
31:42Is Flip Descript worth it?
31:44Is it a program that is worthy for our nation's children, Trinidad and Tobago?
31:50You all brought that excitement and that hype and that vibe.
31:55And I would say that it is a very relevant program.
31:57There was sharing of stories and real stories.
32:01There was interactions.
32:05There were giveaways, right?
32:07We all love giveaways.
32:08Of course, we love Venus.
32:09And I think it was very pertinent.
32:11And what I appreciated especially was that there was a point where there was even outreach.
32:16Guys, you heard it here.
32:18Diego Martin North Secondary School endorses...
32:21Flip Descript.
32:25As the initiative continues to move throughout the country of Trinidad and Tobago,
32:29Flip Descript with the TTPS initiative that is definitely bringing the young people together
32:33and for them to understand that the development stages that they're going through,
32:37we all went through it, you know.
32:39But at the end of the day, you're able to shine and find a solution to the TTPS regardless of
32:45what.
32:45But right now, we need to take that break.
32:47And when we come back, we take your calls and more.

35:29And we are back.
35:30Remember, you can give us a call at 623-1711, extension 1996 or 1997.
35:36Now, ASP, as we continue the conversations that we know that are trending, and I know that many persons who
35:44are dealing with domestic violence, which we have to touch on again, is something that this is nothing new.
35:49Even before I was born, but it seems more so that individuals are unable to deal with their emotions and
35:56insecurities that they are faced with.
35:58And I think in this case, we are seeing more so the victim being the woman where domestic violence is
36:03considered being seriously injured or even unalived.
36:07And it is giving where a lot of men need healing and dealing with some of their insecurities because they
36:14target women because of maybe what they are dealing with.
36:18Ms. Husbands, it goes even further back than just healing.
36:24Some may have been bullies.
36:25Some may have been raised with parents who, and this is how socialization of a child, man, is so important.
36:32If you have a boy child or even a girl child, every time they do something wrong, you hit them.
36:38That's why I keep saying, find innovative ways to discipline your children.
36:41Then when you look at apparent and classical conditioning of the mind of that child, if I do something wrong,
36:54I receive a lash.
36:55Then when that child grows up, how does he or she get that out of their system?
37:01So the only way they know to deal with something is violence because their answer to it is, when I
37:08do something wrong, I get a lash.
37:10So they'll take that into their relationships as well.
37:12But you don't think, apart from that, I mean, most of us receive licks at some point in time, not
37:16abuser, but the men, some of the men, do you think some of them hate women?
37:20Because it is giving that, because they will not have that same energy for other men.
37:26But, Ms. Husbands, and I hear you, you know, I hear you, but it's not just the men, because there
37:32are some women traumatized to the point where they believe if the guy don't hit them, they don't love.
37:36And I will go back to her song, I don't know if it's Nelson or Mighty Sparrow, and he has
37:41a line where he said,
37:42To see man beating woman is not uncommon, or wife haunting husband to mine, she's sweet man.
37:47We like it, I don't know if you're, yeah, vintage, I like them old music.
37:51So, I'm saying, it's a situation we had years, and nobody sought to try to fix it.
37:58It was like it was accepted, and I cannot understand why we would accept such a treatment, why we would
38:05encourage a man to hit a woman, a woman to hit a man.
38:08I don't understand, I don't like it, I don't understand it, I don't, and when you look at the domestic
38:15violence cycle, you look at the 18th of 2020, it's not just physical, it's financial, emotional, psychological, you know.
38:23It goes on.
38:25It goes on, it goes on, and it speaks about a lot of things.
38:27And I know sometimes the one partner is financially dependent on the other, I know that, but there's always a
38:37way out.
38:38Well, at this time, we have a call on hold, so let's have to the phone lines at this time.
38:42Caller, good evening.
38:45Oh, alright, so we lost that call, but yeah, ASP, I am confused to see how things go on.
38:53And it is always where we are seeing women being unaligned, and we are being targets, hence the reason why
38:59I asked the question, do some of the men hate us?
39:03Because the anger, when I saw that video, the anger from this man that he had bottled up inside for
39:10this woman, it was like she was trying her best to de-escalate the situation because she didn't want it
39:17to go further.
39:18Well, Ms. Husband, I want to be careful, I want to say men about their egos, and I'm not supporting,
39:25I'm not encouraging anything.
39:27And a lot of the times when men feel that their egos are bruised, they react in a particular way.
39:34And, you know, certain appearances were made based on the video that we saw on this media release here.
39:43And you could almost, when you listen to what is going on, that individual was in that establishment with somebody
39:50else.
39:50Yes.
39:51And then see the female speaking with somebody else.
39:54You can't speak to anybody, you can't have a conversation.
39:57And a lot of people and relationships where their partners are going through their phones.
40:02I have had people go through my phone already.
40:04Oh, you could, what could that happen, you know, an officer?
40:07You're supposed to have that lock up tight.
40:09I am a human being and I miss this once.
40:11We have a call though.
40:12Caller, good evening.
40:14Hello.
40:16Yes, good afternoon.
40:17Good afternoon.
40:18Good evening to you, sir.
40:19Yes, please.
40:20Good afternoon, sir.
40:22Oh, right, good.
40:30Good afternoon, sir.
40:53All right, well, you can leave your number once again and I will call you between tomorrow and Friday, God's
41:00willing.
41:01Yeah.
41:02And, of course, you remember, you can give us a call at 623-1711, extension 1996 or 1997.
41:10So, yeah, the ego of a man is one where, yes, I know it may seem bruised, but it seems
41:17like there are a lot of men out there, they're not ready to be in relationships.
41:20To me, I'm not just saying men specifically alone, but when they do get in a relationship, it is one
41:27where they don't know how to deal and whatever things that are telling them to react in certain ways is
41:33what is causing the reaction.
41:34But, you know, the weirdness is, and I know people, you have a caller.
41:36Yeah, we have a caller.
41:37Let me just say this really quick.
41:38I know, and the strange thing is, these guys don't want anybody hitting their mothers, their sisters or their daughters.
41:43We have another caller.
41:44Caller, good evening.
41:47Hello.
41:48Hello.
41:48Hi, good evening, ma'am.
41:50Hi, good evening, caller.
41:51Good afternoon.
41:53Mm-hmm.
41:54I'd like to make a call to be with you.
41:55Yes, you can go ahead.
41:56Go right ahead.
41:58My name is Jeff.
41:59I'm a chick for the court there.
42:01He's talking about the truth.
42:03As a young person, I remember my father.
42:08I was also telling him, he didn't want to get a call there.
42:12But I saw it in a long time, but I looked to tell it.
42:14Mom, excuse me.
42:17Mom, excuse me.
42:20Mom.
42:20You don't want to get a call.
42:23If you value yourself, you really make no money a deal or no money a deal, they have to respect
42:28you.
42:29As a person, a nice breath of life.
42:32I have friends, but nobody can't abuse me or me anything.
42:36You know, you have to value yourself and know who you are, who you are, and what you're for, what
42:42you stand for.
42:42You have to let people know who you are, and they will respect you to us.
42:48So women become men, and men become women, because they have no ambition, and they don't have no value of
42:55human, of the self.
42:58All right.
42:59I know we're getting some technical issues there, but we need to take that break.
43:03When we come back, we'll continue the conversation and more.
43:20The Earth's surface is 71% water, but only 1% is fresh and drinkable.
43:27Globally, 1 in 3 people don't have access to clean drinking water.
43:31And with climate change, that number is expected to increase.
43:36So how do we turn the tide?
43:38There's salination.
43:40Transforming seawater into drinkable fresh water through a process of reverse osmosis.
43:45For use in our homes, agriculture, and industry.
43:50It's not just about providing water.
43:52It's ensuring it's of the highest quality.
43:54To do this, the plant must undergo preventative maintenance and improvements twice a year.
43:59This week, we're upgrading our processes.

46:43And we are back now.
46:46It was one of the police vehicles, emergency patrol vehicles.
46:52I wonder if someone gave the officers a bad drive.
46:55I said, what?
46:56I'm wondering if someone gave one of the officers a bad drive.
46:59They need to have a bad drive to do that?
47:01Ms. Husbands, we don't know the entire facts of what happened.
47:04We are just saying that police...
47:05They could have been on their phone.
47:06Well, or they could not have been on their phone or in hot pursuit of somebody else.
47:09That too, we don't know.
47:10Maybe they could have been responding.
47:11But I was asking the question if they're okay.
47:14Well, I am not certain, but I am not seeing anything to suggest that the officers would
47:21have been seriously injured.
47:23So, you know, all honor and glory to God, I pray that they are okay.
47:26And I'm pleased to announce...
47:28And when I say pleased, I mean that the victim with respect to Tobago, the Tobago's incident,
47:33has been operated on, and the individual is now in a stable condition at hospitals.
47:40She's stable.
47:40Oh, yeah.
47:41So thank God, all honor and glory to God.
47:43I mean...
47:44Yeah, boy.
47:45That is...
47:45I was...
47:46My heart felt a little lighter...
47:49Yes.
47:49...when I heard that she's indeed in a stable condition.
47:53And we continue to...
47:54Thank you, Assistant Superintendent Mahalia Barkas for keeping me up to date with the information.
48:00We have another call.
48:01Caller, good evening.
48:02Good evening, my dearies.
48:04My husband.
48:05Good evening, Mom.
48:06And ASP.
48:08Good evening, Mom.
48:09And, you know, it's really a blessing to sit and listen every day of how things are selling.
48:14You know, whether it's a downhill or whatever, but just get encouragement and understanding
48:18that you all are performing.
48:20We have to take our time and look to the bright light, because so many darkness still roam in.
48:27You know?
48:28So I just call to continue to give all of you the confidence.
48:31But also, ASP, sir, I love my number, because I need you to contact me.
48:38Not everything you have here, the public, to understand what you're saying.
48:43You know?
48:44Okay.
48:44But we all continue doing a good job, because Christmas come in, so you know, it could be
48:50light bright or light dull.
48:51In case we don't be safe.
48:54Thanks.
48:55Make sure you give me a call, because I would like you to visit me, you know.
49:00I don't know.
49:00I don't know.
49:01I'm not foreign.
49:02I'm in San Fernando.
49:05What are you?
49:06Yes?
49:08Okay?
49:09Alright, Mom.
49:11You do visits.
49:13You're Santa Claus.
49:14My husbands, I try to please the callers.
49:18Which is great.
49:18And I would, Mom, I would do my best.
49:20I am not in south of thing.
49:23I usually, my vehicles are programmed to traverse the east-west corridor.
49:27But I would do my best to make an exception for you.
49:30Alright.
49:31We have another call.
49:31Caller.
49:32Good evening.
49:34Hello?
49:36Hello.
49:36Good evening.
49:37Hi.
49:37Good evening.
49:38Good evening, caller.
49:39Yes.
49:40A question.
49:42I previously, on a previous program, I heard the officer talk about, it was about
49:49the massive pileup of traffic on the road, because due to some accidents.
49:54And somebody, and somebody calling, somebody calling and asked, well, why is it so long
50:00the clutter?
50:01And then you went on to talk about, y'all are not medically trained and all of that to
50:07handle stuff like that.
50:10And, yes, my question to you is, though, how it is, that when there's a police in the
50:18shooting, you pick up people, injured people, and put them in the back of a van and drive
50:24off.
50:25Good.
50:26That's a valid point.
50:27Is that it, sir?
50:30Okay.
50:31Alright.
50:32Caller, and that is a nice question.
50:35A valid point.
50:36With respect to an accident, you know, you would have, sometimes the persons, they are
50:39trapped in the vehicle.
50:40Mm-hmm.
50:41So we don't have the equipment that fire service would have, like the jaws of life.
50:45Yes.
50:45Etc., right?
50:47Notwithstanding that, if it's an accident where the persons are out of the vehicle, our
50:51first job, first call, must be to render aid, before we even regulate traffic.
50:59It's the same thing with a police shooting.
51:01A police shooting, when we have a police shooting, our intention, the wise person may die as a
51:09result of exchange of gunfire between themselves and the police, our intention is not to kill.
51:15Our intention is to stop the threat.
51:18Our intention is to stop the threat.
51:21Unfortunately, sometimes persons die as a result.
51:24Our intention is not to kill you.
51:26Mm-hmm.
51:27So when, notwithstanding, there's a police shooting, our first, after we get the situation
51:32or the threat under control, our first priority is to take you to seek medical attention.
51:39Yes.
51:40Our first priority is to take you to seek medical attention.
51:43I hope that answers your question.
51:45Different situations, I guess.
51:46Yes.
51:46A lot of different actions.
51:48Something I want to bring up quickly here, I think you will be pleased about it.
51:52Now, according to I-95, they were saying that since the month of opening the post, we saw that
52:02the commissioner of police is stating that arrests were already made.
52:07Yes, I also saw it on the headline.
52:09Yeah.
52:09So it shows the function of the post and that it is functioning as we expect it to and we
52:16will continue to improve and roll out even more posts.
52:19So anything that contributes to our safety for Trinidad and Tobago, the TTPS stand by ready
52:24and willing to do what we have to do to make Trinidad and Tobago safe.
52:27And I will say this because, you know, if I see something positive.
52:31Do we get a wrong number of applause?
52:31Yes, we're going to get a wrong number of applause as well.
52:33Reason being, I saw from the weekend leading up, the police presence is, listen, heavy.
52:41Not just doing roadblocks.
52:43Even today, I saw some officers out making their wrongs.
52:46I'm seeing a lot of foot patrols.
52:48I'm seeing a lot of vehicles, not just on the highways alone, but strategically placed in different parts of the
52:54country.
52:54And usually we'll see them on the highways, but we're seeing them on the main roads.
52:57We're seeing more patrols.
52:59So clearly you all are making sure the vehicles are functioning and working fine.
53:02So a round of applause to the officers.
53:03We'll keep up the hard work that you're doing.
53:06And, of course, the rotten apples out there.
