02:24But a brand new week is upon us.
02:26And, of course, over the weekend, a lot of things happened.
02:30And the conversation, apart from things happening, we know what is on the agenda right now.
02:35The countdown is on where we're looking to end the SOE.
02:40But what is starting back up, that we're seeing popping back up, is the Zosu.
02:45And that conversation and more we will discuss on.
02:47But today is Monday.
02:48So, one gentleman who is always here and willing to guide us and also give us the information that's needed
02:53for persons who have missing persons or even animals or death.
02:58We have Captain Ramber out here with us.

03:01Good evening, Whitney.
03:02And it's a pleasure, as always, to be on Beyond the Tape.
03:06So, I just want to wish our viewers a pleasant good evening as well.
03:10Those who are looking on locally, our viewers in Grenada and internationally.
03:18But before we go out, take a deep dive into some of those issues.
03:21You know, we were following the exploits of our team, TKR.
03:25But, you know, sadly, it ended on Friday night.
03:28And, you know, as we reflect, it's chicken curry prevailed at the COVID-19 day.
03:35And I think it's good.
03:36I think at the end of the day, our captain, Nicholas Puran, didn't come to the party at all.
03:42I listened to Dwayne Bravo, the coach, and I view him as one of the best in the world in
03:50terms of tactical T20 cricket.
03:53And some players just didn't come to the party for Trent TKR.
03:57They didn't so, yes.
03:58And going forward, we need two good fast bowlers.
04:02Do you think that it was too early for Puran to be captain?
04:05And then also the position that he's in, apart from batting and the UK people?
04:09I think the captaincy is not the issue because you have seniors like Pollard and a good coach, Bravo.
04:16I think the issue is the consistency in his performance.
04:21And he did not really.

04:51And I want to start with this.
04:53There's a young girl who went missing on Saturday.
04:56And the thing about it, the story behind it, when I spoke with her mother,
05:00is that she was allegedly caught poisoning the family's meal in a house in Wallerfield there.
05:13And when confronted, she ran away.
05:16And run, she did, because since Saturday, she was spotted in various bushes all around the Wallerfield area.
05:26And so things like these, we have to take it seriously, because we don't know what the young lady has
05:34contemplated.
05:35She's 16 years old.
05:37Her name is Shanaya Valentine.
05:39So this morning, the team went out to the Wallerfield district.
05:44And from there, they got information that she would have moved to the Valencia district, which is nearby.
05:51And early this morning, they were able to locate her in her house.
05:56I come back to that, how they located her in the Valencia district plantation road, to be exact.
06:03Now, when they approached, she was bathing with another girl in her standpipe in the yard.
06:08And she bolted.
06:10But you can't run from those guys.
06:12So, you know, she eventually stopped.
06:15And they spoke to her nicely, because we are a compassionate team.
06:18The mother came, and, you know, she was taken to the Valencia police force.
06:23The sort of things, I would say.
06:26But when you get calls like these, you have to act immediately.
06:31And thank God the team was able to get help.
06:34Well, I hope not they really go further with this here, because for a teenager to consciously want to poison
06:44their family,
06:46if something is going on there that they need to figure out, and if there is some sort of separation
06:51for now,
06:52where they can step in to at least see what is happening, to protect all parties.
06:57All parties.
06:58And I agree with you.
06:59And, you know, teenagers, you don't know what's going through.
07:02Sometimes you may take away a phone, and that is the way you get back at your mother or father.
07:08So, I think the matter would be resolved, and the incapable hands of the police at Valencia.
07:15And I hope for, you know, for peace and quiet within the family that the issue is resolved.
07:21She is back, and thank God.
07:24I don't think she needs to be in the house.
07:26Probably.
07:27I don't think she said.
07:28She should be moved to an area or probably another relative.
07:31A neutral space right now.
07:32Until counseling is sought and the intervention is made to correct what took place.
07:38Now, I'm not relating to this incident here at all, and you gave reference to something that could cause children
07:45to act out in some seriously heinous ways,
07:49where their devices causes them to attack their family, who want to wish death on their family, their harm in
07:57their family because of devices.
07:59Are we creating addicts?
08:00Yeah, I think we're creating addicts and the young people.
08:03Some cannot do without it.
08:05And we've come across cases where teenagers would have run away from home simply because as a means of, you
08:14know, discipline, the device was taken away from them.
08:17And we've come across many cases like that.
08:19So it is the times we live in, and, you know, we have to be careful and, you know, organize
08:27and discipline our children from young to let them know that this is not everything.
08:33Yeah, because clearly they are attached to this device.
08:35So you have to give them some downtime, and if they're not performing well in school, and you need to
08:42remove it for some time, that is normal.
08:45Captain, are they overstimulated by these things clearly?
08:48Yes.
08:48Because if you cannot disconnect, and we see adults like that, they are fished out of water if they forget
08:53their phone or home.
08:54Or the internet goes for a short while.
08:56They want to die over the end of the world, and we see adults who have the same way because
09:00their persons would rather go back in traffic to get their phone and sit in another two hours.
09:05In traffic to head back.
09:06Yeah.
09:07Because they forgot their phone home, and they can't do it all their phone.
09:09Yes, and we have to learn to disconnect, and we have to treat it for what it is.
09:14It's an information research reading device.
09:18But talking about that situation, because this one with this young girl could have ended in a different way in
09:26terms of not handling the problem.
09:28So, this week, we got a call at 4 a.m.
09:33I got to receive the call from the command center, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Command Center, at 4 a
09:38.m. last week, Wednesday.
09:40And they indicated to me that a gentleman had an argument with his spouse earlier that morning, and that he
09:51grabbed a clothesline, and he told her that he was going to end his life.
10:00And so, when I received that call, I said to myself, we needed to respond immediately because, Whitney, I say
10:09it on this program, I don't want to go there and get you alive.
10:12We want to go there and get you alive.
10:14So, sometimes, you know, we may meet them contemplating what to do, and that's a good thing.
10:21So, we went down to Madingo Road on last Wednesday.
10:26The team arrived at 5 a.m., and we were able, by searching, someone pointed out to the gentleman walking
10:34on the road.
10:35And so, he was able to return.
10:38This is him there.
10:39I think in some way, this is him in the hoodie there.
10:42So, it was Lee Johnson, a young man, and this is him coming back.
10:46He made his way out of the bushes and was heading home.
10:49So, we didn't end up here.
10:50He did apologize for the situation, but, you know, in speaking through the family, you know, we indicated to them
10:58that they need counseling.
11:00He's a young man, and he needs counseling, and I believe that together with the police, St. Mary's Police Station,
11:10you know, counseling has to be arranged.
11:12For this type of person, because, you know, you threaten to end your life, and, you know, you have first
11:18responders rushing in there early in the morning to try to see what's going on.
11:23So, thankfully, we were able to get him, you know, and get him alive, and hopefully he has sought the
11:30counseling that is needed.
11:33And on that same day, just as that mission was finished, I received a call from the Morvai area, Chinapu
11:43to be exact, and a gentleman's sister is telling me that they heard gunshots near his house the night.
11:53During the night, they were afraid to come out, and early that morning, she, when she visited the house, it
12:01was, she saw a spencher's just close by.
12:06She saw a piece of blood on her clothing, and that just behind his house was a very steep cliff,
12:13like about 300 feet, plunged around the hill.
12:15And she said, nobody is going to go there, and we don't know what happened to him, we don't know,
12:21the police advisor to check the hospital.
12:23Yes.
12:24And, of course, we got there the same day as Wesley Johnson Mission, and the team moved right on to
12:34Chinapu in Mover, and this is what they were confronted, some abandoned houses.
12:40But I'll tell you this, where the body was eventually found, there was no way anybody was going to find
12:46that.
12:47Thankfully, you know, the bushes there around these abandoned properties, it was really a steep cliff, and the team took
12:58probably about two hours to go through this area and make their way down that steep cliff.
13:06And at the bottom of the cliff, near abandoned house, they located his body, and, you know, the police, they
13:16were so thankful, they were on the scene, they left, they came back.
13:19Oh, we had to call them when the body was located.
13:23This was relatives trying to get down there, and tell you it was an adiosity, coming down the hill there.
13:30You could see the terrain, it was rough.
13:34And this is just a start, eh, they still have about four or five hundred feet to go to this
13:39abandoned house where the body was found.
13:42See, the young ladies trying their best to get there.
13:45So, you know, the person fell?
13:48He ran.
13:49Because of the gold?
13:50No, no, he ran.
13:50He ran, he ran, he ran as best as he could to save his life.
13:55He could see that he just, you know, just ran down the hill top speed, but eventually succumbed to his
14:01wood.
14:02So, Clarence Thompson, age 57, from Chenapu, Mova, we were able to locate his body, and condolences, of course, to
14:12the family up there in Mova.
14:16Really sad.
14:18You have to find a family member.
14:20We have another mission.
14:21Yeah, we have another mission, and the other mission that we went to was in, I'm trying to remember that
14:27mission now.
14:28Johnson?

14:33Oh, so we had Johnson, and that's Clarence.

14:39And the one we had before was Wesley Johnson.

14:45We covered all the missions.

14:47So, as we continue, Captain, we are seeing a lot that transpired over the weekend, of course.
14:52And in this case, over the weekend, we saw TTPS officers on the ground during Operation Border Shield, where, let's
15:00just say, they formed some items.
15:02So, with that being said, we're seeing here where we saw 53 detained during Operation Border Shield.
15:11Officers of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service TTPS detained 53 Venezuelan nationals during an intelligence-led operation conducted overnight
15:20in Cura.
15:21Now, during the operation, officers proceeded to a location along the southern main road, Cura, where 53 adult Venezuelan nationals,
15:314 men, and 49 women were found and subsequently arrested after investigations revealed that they had entered Trinidad and Tobago
15:40illegally.
15:41The suspects were interviewed and later conveyed to several police stations for safekeeping pending further immigration investigations.
15:50Captain, this is something that is nothing new to Trinidad and Tobago, but it just seems like it just continues.
15:57So, I am not one to frequent Cura Junction except on a search.
16:02So, if you get there in the night, you know why the TTPS had to get in there and make
16:08an intervention.
16:09So, I am happy that it was done.
16:12And in the video clip that was shown, you see clearly guest house written there and that tells a story.
16:21So, let's commend the police for making an intervention in the Cura area.
16:26And of course, most importantly...
16:28They have to, by the way, go to Shoguanas, Mother Street's court as well.
16:32Yeah, and we are hoping that we continue to protect the lives of those who may not willingly want to
16:39be here.
16:40And who are being forced to be in the situation or situations that, you know, they are in.
16:46Now, this was caught on someone's dash camera.
16:49Police chase, something we don't really get to see often, but this is what transpired.
16:53And of course, this is heading south on a time-lapse so we could see what happened, Captain, as the
17:01end result.
17:02Right.
17:03So, I saw this clip before, so I was wondering, you know, whether in fact, yes, whether in fact the
17:09car did hit the siren or so.
17:13But it was, you know, I looked at it.
17:17It was professionally done.
17:18One officer covering the other one and that's how you do it, tactically, right?
17:23Yes, because, you know, some persons on social media were saying why the officer in blue was behind, but that
17:28is how you protect your officer.
17:30If you're well-trained as a position to adopt, right?
17:34So, he's protecting his colleague in front.
17:38Well done, officers.
17:40And we need to see more of this.
17:42I wonder if it's because of the mobile unit.
17:46Well, I think...
17:47I'm sorry, that's one in Suru, but yes.
17:48Right, right, but I think the units will see more of this.

17:52Right, because one unit could spot in north as you turn the head south and the one in south could
17:58deal with anything coming down the road or going up.
18:02So, you know, this is probably a sign of things to come.
18:06Yes, and the officers continue to be very busy, Captain, because teens held as guns and ammo found in car.
18:14Two teenage children were among four people arrested in Mova on Sunday after police intercepted a car and found two
18:22firearms and a quantity of ammunition inside.
18:26Now, northeastern division, NED task force officers conducted Operation Resolute Shield between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on
18:35September 13, 2026.
18:37It's as earlier.
18:38Now, special attention was paid to the Mova district, namely the 2nd Caledonia, Vegas, Cipriani Avenue, also Chinapu and Pitch
18:48Road areas.
18:49During the operation, officers proceeded to a location in search of a red-colored Hyundai vehicle, which was believed to
18:58have been used in a robbery earlier that day.
19:01Now, upon arrival, they observed the vehicle in question, also saw a brown-colored Nissan Sentra with four occupants nearby.
19:10The occupants and their vehicle were searched and officers found and seized one Smith & Wesson revolver containing four rounds
19:19of .38 ammunition and one Beretta PX-4 pistol fitted with one magazine containing 16 rounds of 9mm ammunition.
19:30Yeah, with me, so that's good.
19:32You know, you looked at what happened in Arima a couple of weeks ago.
19:36You had four murders and then you had the police going in there and doing some interventions.
19:41I know two persons were charged for a couple of those murders.
19:46We had four recent killings in the Mova area, Caledonia, and one in, three in Caledonia and one in Chinapu.
19:53So, what you have is Operation Resolute Shield moving in quickly and operating in the community to keep a handle
20:02on things.
20:03And that fine with the guns, that is important.
20:06Because the move to get the illegal guns out of the streets is very, very crucial to crime fighting now.
20:17But I like how they're moving.
20:18And I must commend the persons who conceptualize these operations and put it into motion.
20:26Because this is one we want to see, a dynamic Trinidad and Tobago police service responding to these situations as
20:35they develop.
20:35Which is really sad that you mentioned teenagers involved.
20:40So, again, to the parents, we ask you, please be involved in the lives of your children.
20:44Not just especially the boys, your children.
20:46The girls and the boys, we're seeing what is happening.
20:48And their entire lives have been changed after this situation.
20:51Right now, it's time for us to take a look at what's making our SOE update as of September 14,
20:572026.
20:58Number of operations, 13,302.
21:03Number of targets prior to offenders, 3,388.
21:07Searches conducted, 4,567.
21:11Traffic operations, 8,297.
21:14Total persons arrested, 5,908.
21:18Total persons charged, 1,401.
21:23Firearms recovered, we're seeing an increase with the pistols, revolvers, giving us a total of 322.
21:29Ammunition recovered, we're seeing an increase with the 9mm, also the 0.38, giving us a total of 6,459.
21:36And dangerous drug seas, we're seeing an increase once again with the cannabis and cocaine.
21:41Yes, so firearms, ammunition, and dangerous drugs, those are key to crime fighting.
21:49And we see, I know the SOE is due to finish on the 17th.
21:5217th, yes.
21:53And I heard the police say, what they're saying is that without the SOE, they will continue to have similar
22:01type operations
22:03so that, you know, to continue to suppress the crime in Trinidad and Tobago.

25:20And we dive straight into missing persons the month of September as to date.
25:25So let us know what's going on there, Captain.
25:27Yes, Whitney, and we continue to see an increase in the number of missing persons being reported.
25:34For August, we had 37 reports.
25:37And for September thus far, we've had 22 reports of missing persons.
25:43And today is only the 14th.
25:45So, you know, it's an above normal period for missing persons.
25:51And thankfully, we only have five persons who are yet to be accounted for out of those 22 reports.
25:59And we still have Kenny Ellis Escoche.
26:04She is from the Duncan Village area in San Fernando.
26:09And it was reported that she went to collect some money.
26:14I'm in contact with our Venezuelan migrant worker in this case.
26:21And we believe that we may be able to locate her safely by tomorrow.
26:28We're working on something.

26:44But from information gathered thus far, we believe that she is safe.
26:50Next, we have Ishana, Elena, sorry, Wulian.
26:56She's from Felicity, a Venezuelan non-national.
27:00Now, what her family is saying is that she was working in Felicity and she probably moved to another area
27:07to work unknown to them.
27:09We suspect it is in the Tanapuna district.
27:13And we're working hard to have someone contact Elena Wulian.
27:18So, if you have information on her, she's very popular in the Felicity district.

27:32We're also, you know, hopeful that she is safe and nothing unto what happened to her.
27:40Ishana Loutan is from St. Madden.
27:43Now, Ishana is age 31.
27:46She used to live abroad and she recently returned to the country.
27:52Now, her father is saying that her mental health is compromised.
27:57But on the 28th of August, in front of her parents, she packed her suitcase, walked out, and jumped into
28:06her TT ride-share vehicle, which took out the Port of Speed.
28:09So, we're working closely with the Police to find Ishana Loutan.

28:30Now, what her relatives are saying is that, you know, they're wondering if harm could come to her because she
28:37would not know the Port of Speed industry well.
28:41And they don't have a clue as to who would have sent a vehicle for her.
28:46So, we're monitoring this case closely and I'm paying particular attention to this case.
28:53So, and then we have Nafisha O'Connor, age 17, from Princess Town.
29:00So, she, she, she, she, nobody saw when she left home.
29:04And so, she is, I know her father and relatives went to the Kukia district in San Fernando based on
29:14her report, but they didn't get her.
29:16And so, if you know Nafisha O'Connor, age 17, from Princess Town, and you know how, whereabouts, please contact

29:35So, we're working on this closely.
29:37We have about three or four members working with her father to try to get her home.
29:43And then we have Philip Edmond.
29:46Now, Philip Edmond is from the Tamana area in San Fernando Grande.
29:51He's 74 and he was last seen on the 7th of September, 2026.
29:57Whitney, as we speak, our team is out there searching for him.
30:02I have to get a report as I know they would not have found anything as yet, but they indicated
30:08to me that they were, when last I spoke to them,
30:11just before I came on the program, that they were trying to pull out and a pretty large area and
30:17night might meet them doing it.
30:19But they're out there in, in, in, in the Tamana district.
30:24That's where Jackie was born, by the way, Tamana.

30:43The thing about Edmond is that, Philip, is that he suffers from epilepsy, so, we don't know, you know, where.

30:57Yes, so, Captain, we are seeing, it's clear, from when we started the show, young people, and we're seeing more
31:05young men,
31:06dealing with a lot of mental issues, and I am not just going specifically with whatever it may be that
31:13may,
31:14when people hear mental issues and trying to be, you hear, oh, the person's just mad.
31:18No, it's not mad.
31:19No, it's not that.
31:19No, it's not that.
31:19Right, so, let's make that very clear.
31:21But it's getting younger and younger, and it was really disturbing after watching that video with a young man,
31:26who was in the hoodie, and he was walking back, and we all had to just leave him alone, and
31:32he apologized, yes,
31:33but it is deeper than that for these young men.
31:36Yeah, and I think, you know, men have difficulty in coping with family life skills,
31:42and sometimes mothers try their best to train young men to operate within a family,
31:51and, you know, so the whole issue of being a breadwinner and being home to contribute,
31:58not only financially, but to the running of the home, places stress on men.
32:05It places stress on men.
32:07They're the providers.
32:08Well, we'll contribute.
32:09Not to be careful saying, not to some females, because they don't like to hear that, but that's how I
32:13see it.
32:13But, you know, the thing about men is that we want to be outside playing football, playing sport, doing other
32:20things,
32:20and we don't see the household family and the family dynamic in its real form,
32:31and some men can't conform to it.
32:33Yes, that's the reality.
32:33Yes, or even deal with it.
32:35Yes, that's the reality.
32:37And so a lot of it is stress.
32:39Sometimes they may be out of a job, and then there is conflict between the spouses,
32:45and one wanting to move on with the family and the family household and life,
32:51and one not contributing anything to its development, growth and development.
32:57So it's a serious issue.
32:59It leads to a breakup and dysfunctional families.
33:01And I am one of those who have always said that men are responsible for 99% of the problems
33:11in Trinidad and Tobago.
33:12I am a man, and I am seeing women working towards solutions, working in stressful environments,
33:22but still coping, and as men, we tend to want to give up and give up the struggle and not
33:29contribute.
33:30So, and then we don't pay 100% attention to our family life.
33:35The family is the bedrock of the society.
33:37So it creates a lot of problems.
33:40And you see young men like this gentleman not coping, all right?
33:44And men also, they are averse to sitting down and discussing things.
33:53We tend to be quiet when we're discussing these things,
33:58and we tend to want to speak out when we're outside with the boys and everything else.
34:03So it's an animal that needs to be studied.
34:09All right, we need to take that break.

51:43was called hound walks
51:44but the Nereva Miaro Hunters
51:47and Conservation Group,
51:48they did it a bit differently.
51:50They hosted their hound walk
51:52in Miaro.
51:53These are fully ready, though.

51:55and what they did this time around
51:56is that they allow persons
51:58from the community
51:59to bring their pets
52:00and their dogs
52:01and they had little competitions
52:03for the dogs,
52:04those type of dogs.
52:05So what we did is that
52:07we went to Miaro,
52:09some of our members,
52:11and they look forward
52:12to seeing us.
52:13It's a close-knit look.
52:15This is not a hunting dog

52:20and the community of Miaro
52:22supports this venture a lot.
