02:44good evening trinidad and tobago international audience and of course our brothers and sisters
02:49in grenada this is beyond the tape i'm your host whitney husbands now i know to all the cricket fans
02:55out there you're not feeling too well not the results that we were looking for when it comes
02:59to the tkr but nonetheless i am sure that you continue to show them love and support as they
03:05um i can't say move forward but they have to regroup and figure out what is the next move
03:11and the countdown is on as the final days are approaching before yes school reopens the new
03:17school term for those parents you have to mentally prepare yourself for it and for those who are not
03:22parents mentally prepare yourself for the traffic just brace yourself because the countdown is on
03:28now today filling in for asp russell it's no stranger to our show a favorite on the show
03:34for that and i'm always happy when he's here i'd like to welcome corporal chabody good evening to
03:39you sir post-independency on those are looking for the red black and white it's all tiger today yeah
03:45leopard well sneak like i messed up with with captain rambarat i don't know if you know that you'll be
03:51like nobody you look very beautiful today i must say um i'm having my share of challenges with tk
03:57here i'm gonna take my tablet strong coffee right but win also draw i'm a ticket we have to support
04:03we have yes it's much for some level of pictures you would like them to do well you know where
04:08they
04:09are in terms of a team they are pause something is definitely wrong something is wrong things are just
04:13not mentioned things are not gelling um we have one of the greatest cricketers right now yes paulard and
04:21it's it's like you know he tries his best to motivate and of course they can't forget our captain
04:26doing bravo um the champion himself and that reminds us there's no iron team no and i don't think yes
04:32yes yes team is a collective effort and um i think that we need to recognize the fact that sometimes
04:38teams go through their challenges and and it takes the the 12th person to support and continue to but
04:44you need to go back to the joint table something is wrong something is wrong it's not connecting at
04:48all because clearly the um the ball wasn't connecting with those bats you were getting some outs and the
04:55runs were low it was just it didn't look like tk i thought it was yeah i thought it was
04:59yeah you
05:00thought it was a i yeah for one minute i really talked about then somebody said no that is sticky
05:03or not yeah so um all things being equal i really wish them all the best and probably didn't know
05:09good
05:09you know that's it in sports sir you're telling sports one miniature up one miniature down and and that
05:14is the reality for the young ones who need to understand it's not all the time you'll be on top
05:18but when you go at the bottom the only way you could go is back up i'm a brazilian fan
05:22same here so
05:24you know what it is and you know and worse yet i'm an arsenal fan so you know they like
05:29to come
05:34that's unfortunate it was a slip of the tongue it was a slip of the tongue it's too early so
05:39listen we
05:40have a lot to discuss oh yes in this case it is very clear corporal shabody that again females are
05:47always a target when it comes to um these individuals who believe that they could take advantage of us
05:53wherever we may we may be and the reason why i say that is because there was an act from
06:00a person who
06:00was grouping individuals in porous take a look at this whoa
06:09so pay attention here so this individual now you wouldn't hear the audio but the person who
06:14is following this gentleman was grouped she was before right and that is why she started to see you see
06:24jackie if you could take it back a little bit again but we could see where corporal that this
06:32individual sick person yes sick person sick perverted sick yes right he should be made an example that's
06:42why we must give women a fighting chance some pepper spray would have doing well you're telling me some
06:46good pepper spray would have already grown you should be reminded that you have a touch of one and
06:50many to sign up to this is not a female thing many to sign up and and make that gentleman
06:55a good
06:55example and so listen to me we don't treat our women like that we are respectable we are gentlemen
07:00there's a sick person and there's a person looking for attention and certainly it's not
07:04that you know it likes it out nothing to do with being the forefront of some social media we need
07:09to
07:09front on that i need to say that is not how we treat all men we are better than that
07:12now in this case
07:13would you say this is sexual assault oh yes or indecent assault or both it could it could be both
07:19because it all depends on where they're touching oh right and yeah i mean they say if you grab
07:23any person's um private part press then it constitutes a serious indecent assault yes you know and and it
07:29plays on the fact that the person intent it is not by error it's not a bounce no it's something
07:35deliberate intentional right so that we have to accept the fact that um while there are laws you need to
07:41feel the law you need to know that the law has a real component it and it's not just there
07:47in a book
07:47that is written but it's there to make these men in my example yes so other young men looking on
07:53will know it is unlawful to be touching women with all their consent anyone that's right i can't just
07:59run up and touch a gentleman just like that well do i sort of part no yeah that is still
08:03wrong yeah
08:04either way that is yes now corporal we are seeing that the ttps did a major bust this is a
08:09major seizure
08:10here millions of dollars now 193 million in cocaine seized 416.5 kilograms of coke well i should say
08:21packets i don't want to say what it is yet because we don't have that info found inside a bako
08:26tires
08:27now officers of the trinidad and tobago police service made a major blow to the illegal drug trade
08:33when they seized approximately 416.5 kilograms of cocaine in this case with an estimated street value
08:40of 193 million 522 560 during an intelligence-led exercise in the londonville police district
08:53now police inquiries centered on the suspected concealment of illegal firearms and narcotics
08:59at the premises in the londonville area acting under the authority of section 12 of the emergency
09:06powers regulations 2026 officers proceeded to the identified premises and conducted a careful
09:14and systematic search of the residence warehouse and surrounding compound for firearms narcotics and
09:22other prohibited items during the search officers observed six large bako tires mounted
09:29on rims inside the warehouse a closer examination revealed rectangular packets concealed within
09:35four of the tires in total 420 packages were discovered and seized a 42 year old businessman from
09:44the british virgin islands was arrested on suspicion of offenses connected with the seizure while two
09:51solution nationals ages 38 and 37 were also detained corporal that work that is the last part i need i
10:00wanted to hear and somebody was arrested that somebody was um was an accomplice to all these drugs
10:07coming inside and therefore an arrest was made too many times yeah sometimes cocaine is wrong drugs
10:12is wrong and the assailants make good escape but in this time this is good intelligence good surveillance and the
10:18police made good in terms of making an arrest and by extension ensuring that all this sort of cocaine
10:25is not on our nation streets not in the community that must could be up could be called the police
10:34wow must be applauded and has to the republic too did this whoever provided police with intelligence they
10:42need to know that they are safe well we hope that that continues like that so they can get more
10:47information to get the drugs and guns off of the street now corporal i'm sure that you have seen past
10:54videos where prisons have attempted to throw items into the prison or over the walls of the prisons compound
11:01and in this case the ttps and most importantly the prison officers they were vigilant now with information
11:08given you will see here that the prison officers association of trinidad and tobago commends the
11:14vigilance and professionalism demonstrated by officers attached to the port of spain prison this
11:20morning reason being to the nation and of course the corporal officer successfully apprehended a suspect
11:27who was allegedly attempting to throw packages containing over 100 cigarettes a quantity of marijuana and one
11:36cellular phone into the prison compound now the police service was immediately contacted and the suspect
11:42was subsequently handed over to police for further investigation and appropriate action so a job well
11:49done by the prison officers and along with the ttps because we know they usually have their presence
11:55on the nation's roads there in particular in that um said area yeah and the police is on top the
12:01game the
12:01prison services on top the game then they're quite familiar with this trend and therefore they use
12:06drones and use technology and they use a number of different surveillance it is not good to go on
12:11public and share everything that the police and the prisons do something must remain intelligence you
12:16follow because if you share everything then you're educating the criminal element and therefore this is
12:20good work again this is what people want to know people want to see they want to hear that when
12:25people
12:25do illegal stuff they are being arrested so that our young people looking on will know that this
12:31is unacceptable you don't go throwing drugs over you don't get you know telephone call from nobody
12:36saying um commodity corner so and so don't worry you're safe brother i have to prison you will get
12:42locked up you'll be arrested and you'll be made an example steal from that it's very embarrassing yourself
12:48and your family right now it's time for us to take a look at our so we update as of
12:53september 3rd
12:542026 number of operations 12 668 number of targets priority offenders 3257 searches conducted 4400
13:07traffic operation 7884 total prisons arrested 5571 total prisons charged 1321 firearms recovered we're seeing
13:21no increase there but it stays at a total of 306 ammunition recovered we've seen no increase there
13:27also a total of 6282 and drugs dangerous drug sees we're seeing an increase with the cocaine corporal
13:35yes and it tells you that the police service continue good work when you want to talk about a safe
13:40community and you want to talk about a home and environment that speaks so people can move
13:46those things need to be out and i need to be getting rid of the shotguns the pistols the ammunition
13:52look how much grams of cannabis look how much grams of cocaine if that get in the hands of the
13:59wrong
13:59people you could appreciate the fact that gangs and other elements will grow and blossom so again this
14:06can only be tantamount to surveillance intelligence members of the law abiding citizens saying officers i know
14:14where a is i know where b is obviously if you go to the corner so and so now and
14:18we have to salute
14:20people and i really appreciate my law enforcement colleagues here but we could only be effective
14:26when we build trust with levels of the community and levels of the public that it will call and say
14:33listen i know what's happening at the corner so and so i don't want to name their call and the
14:36person
14:37feels safe yes that they have passed on the information and at no time at all they are the unfortunate
14:43challenges of anybody knocking on the door saying so user informer yes that is what people want to
14:48feel sense of safety yes most definitely no i want to go back just a little bit with the update
14:53and i want
14:54with your expertise to guide us here when persons we're seeing persons arrested and the amount of persons charged
15:00right we're seeing a huge space so the persons arrested we're seeing five thousand five hundred and seventy one
15:07but the total person's charge is way less than the numbers that we're seeing that were just arrested
15:13could you guide us with that yeah arrest doesn't mean that you're charged arrest probably means that
15:18you're taking into custody and probably some inquiries are taking place so i i arrest somebody but after
15:26questioning the person after inquiring or trying to get information realize that this person is an innocent
15:31bystander so that person is then released but when a person is charged it means that we have sufficient
15:39evidence to now take that person before the court yes we have within the law books where we can now
15:44find
15:45what you call an offense being committed and that person would now be charged and placed before the court
15:51so you can bring 15 persons in a station they are arrested yes but after you do your due diligence
15:58and you do you do an inquiry you say hey you tell them how to leave but also could that
16:02be with the
16:04pedios as well that we are seeing because we in the so this is the so yes yes yes so
16:08those are persons
16:09who were just arrested but not charged that's right that's right and and the police officers after they
16:15would have conducted their inquiries would have then report back to the senior officer and say listen um
16:20this man is not part and parcel of any criminal intent probably in the wrong place at the wrong time
16:26or
16:26probably he had provided police with good information yes that would lead them and say okay brother there's
16:32a number of different factors that will allow a person not to be charged and only to be arrested
16:37but arrested means that you're not charged unless you have committed an offense and unless the senior
16:42officer feel there's sufficient evidence yes yeah to um put you before the court so that means they will
16:48fall into the category of being charged and not unarrested so you're arrested and then you are charged
16:54that's right i mean yeah you have to be arrested before that's right you get charged but let's see
16:58how it goes i can i'm hoping that we could see more of the charges go up and then when
17:02we see the
17:03charges then it will go outside of that realm which will be convictions that's right yeah and police need
17:08to be very careful how to go about charging because remember these people have legal counsel they have
17:13lawyers and they'll always say listen you have you have nothing against my client here could you can
17:17release my client please yeah is that they charge him or not and therefore the due process the balance of
17:22justice must remain that the person even under while being arrested must be able to seek legal counsel
17:28all right right now let's take a look at what's making today's headlines

20:52And welcome back.
20:53Now, if you're now joining us, we have Corporal Shabidi here with us this evening as we continue the conversations.
20:58But we have to mention the beautiful minds.
21:01And when we say the minds, we speak of mind in motion.
21:05Tell us a little bit more on what took place there.
21:08Well, let me put it in a context where everybody can appreciate that.
21:12In order to fight crime, you must fight the thought first.
21:17Because if you don't address the thought, then you cannot address the speech.
21:21And you will very have little challenges with the behavior.
21:25And that's where law enforcement comes in.
21:26And it's our opinion that if we address very early young people thinking and allow them to understand what a
21:35beautiful mind is all about.
21:37Because we all know what an ugly mind looks like.
21:39Yes, we see it.
21:41Yes.
21:41And through the UNDP, United Nations, and to Mr. Blanco, they were able to say, listen, we would want to
21:47come on board and work with 45 young people.
21:50And we had some absolutely beautiful facilitators.
21:53I think the important part was the young people and how they interacted, how they were skate play, they were
21:59role playing.
21:59And we also addressed the question of attitude.
22:03Right.
22:04And when somebody sees you, they know fully well that my husband has a beautiful mind.
22:09Yes.
22:09You know, that's the way you speak and the way you smile, your aura.
22:12You know, beautiful.
22:13Not to say that you have X and I don't want to sit apart.
22:15Yes.
22:16No, no.
22:16The point is, is that if we start talking to young people very early, is this all right with the
22:22think?
22:23Is this all right with the speak?
22:24Do you think you could have speak differently?
22:26And we give them a platform, I think it will.
22:29So we want to personally salute the UNDP, because you know everything has funding.
22:35Yes, of course.
22:36Let's get you to come and do an MC.
22:39You know it has some, right?
22:41No, for the young people, it's all free.
22:42I know it's a promoter.
22:43Yeah, yeah.
22:43I know it's a promoter.
22:44I love any house for that.
22:46But the point is, is that I'm really appreciated when organizations and groups can come on board and say, we
22:52would like to do a particular course.
22:54And what is good about this course is that they were certified afterwards.
22:59And then in addition, we're having a part two.
23:02What you're looking at is our camp.
23:04Okay.
23:04Our vacation camp.
23:05Our camp had about 113 members.
23:07Nice.
23:08And they were puppets show, they were craft, there were a number of different things to keep them involved.
23:13You know, every camp has got a toy.
23:15You know children, they love toys.
23:17Of course.
23:17And we want to thank, yeah, we want to thank Sergeant Ali.
23:20This is the UNDP, representing Mr. Jerry Meyer, Ms. Lara, Johansi.
23:26These are the certificates that they got courtesy of UNDP.
23:30So it is recognized certificates that they can put on their CV.
23:34Okay.
23:34And, you know, they can attend to the fact that I took part in a Minds in Motion program.
23:39And I think we are looking to have a part two.
23:41Yes.
23:42And that part two will speak to taking them to the next level.
23:45We all sort of parent component it.
23:48It makes no sense having a Minds in Motion program and then addressing parenting.
23:52Yes.
23:53So the parents came and they were very much impressed.
23:55We engaged them in how they speak to their children, how they articulate, and also provide them with more tools.
24:01You know, sometimes you have a toolkit and the tools you run out.
24:04Yes.
24:05You have to upgrade your tools.
24:06Yes, you do.
24:06And when you go on courses, you go on different…
24:08And I get roughed it too sometimes.
24:09You listen to me, you need some oil.
24:11Yes.
24:11So I want to put on behalf of the Commissioner of Police and behalf of the Senior Superintendent of West
24:16City Division,
24:17we want to thank the UNDP very much for their absolutely wonderful and generous donation.
24:23And what is good about the UNDP, they also provided facilitators.
24:27They provided transport for the children who are living at risk.
24:30And they provided refreshments.
24:32A job well done.
24:33Listen to me.
24:34I couldn't commend them.
24:35And I feel honored being part and parcel of the whole organizing.
24:42Sometimes, there are so many wonderful programs that you will appreciate that has to be shelved because of no funding.
24:48Funding, yeah.
24:49Funding goes a long way.
24:50Yeah.
24:50And people tell you, why don't you get some volunteers?
24:52That's not you.
24:53You take it on.
24:55Volunteers can only go so far.
24:56Yes.
24:57You have to pay people.
24:57You're going to have a stipend.
24:59Something.
24:59You're going to say thank you.
25:00So, I want to salute UNDP and all your other stakeholders who made our Minds in Motion an absolutely beautiful
25:08session.
25:08And I trust that we'll have a part two.
25:10So, we'll continue the good work with our nation's youth.
25:14And to the young ones, a job well done.
25:15And you can see they had a fabulous time there.
25:18Somebody on my toy had a toy in the bag.
25:19Yes.
25:21We have a caller.
25:22A caller.
25:22Good evening.
25:24Hello.
25:26Hello.
25:26Good evening.
25:27Hi.
25:27Good evening.
25:28So.
25:29Good evening.
25:30Good evening, Mr. Salvat and Oversha.
25:32Yes.
25:33Listen, so.
25:35I want to reflect on two issues.
25:38The first issue is the traffic.
25:43We will focus upon the 27 million rule.
25:46I think there's something to respect for Middle East.
25:49And it's going to be reversed due to the success of the year.
25:53Yes.
25:53Of the year.
25:54Yes.
25:55So, that's from my advantage.
25:58Because we are a lawless to fight.
26:01And we have to acknowledge that.
26:03But as you will, this teacher here must not confront the lawlessness by doing
26:11and is it important.
26:16And no tolerance for it is.
26:19Zero tolerance.
26:20But that will be affected on the East.
26:24That may be right in the last of the night and before I create it, I see people doing on
26:29the road.
26:30I'm afraid to drive on on that road at 30.
26:34So, I'm hoping zero tolerance on the GPS.
26:37The second issue is that criminal who has been caught through it takes over the
26:47public state jail of America.
26:50Yes.
26:50I will classify you.
26:53Two things.
26:54It's very intelligent or it's notish.
26:57And it is notish.
26:59Three times the charge of the law.
27:01And it is expected that they will hold it.
27:05And what I'm saying here is that it is a new strategy for the criminals to communicate
27:15with him within that jail.
27:17So, I'm hoping that they put individuals to let this right out fully investigate,
27:24it is important, and it is intent to get inside the jail.
27:29I'm going to say, you know, I'm going to talk here.
27:31Thank you so much, sir.
27:33Corporal, I mean, I will say this, I think from the last incident that happened at that
27:37same prison where someone attempted to throw an item or items over the wall, the person
27:43allegedly, we don't know, escaped.
27:45We don't know.
27:46So, that person thought, listen, if he could do it, I could do it too.
27:50There are a lot of, no, no, you make the point that there are ignorant people and a lot
27:54of people acting on instructions from the committee leader.
27:57Yes, yes.
27:58Right, and we have to understand that people are praying on people's ignorance, people
28:01are praying on...
28:02Yes, fear.
28:04And sometimes a man tell you to do so and so, or else you have to do it.
28:07And you hope, you know, probably the best thing for him is that he got locked up.
28:10Yes, yeah.
28:11You know, because you have to account for people's merchandise.
28:14You have to account for the drugs.
28:16How come police and next thing, you know, the body found somewhere else.
28:19It is a wicked and vicious cycle out there, you know.
28:22You know, we sit down and we have a program and sometimes we feel safe in our environment,
28:26but there are some people who have no other choice.
28:28No.
28:28You know, and I say that no other choice, guardedly, because of the ignorance we put
28:32on them, and they come from a toxic environment.
28:34And I hear it at the gentleman, loud and clear.
28:37Some people are stupid, we may classify it as that, and some people, unfortunately,
28:42because of the situation, and how deep in, they have to follow instructions.
28:46If you are a runner, you are a runner.
28:48If you are a runner, you are a runner.
28:50Don't forget that.
28:51That's right.
28:52Because I could twist the wrist on other things.
28:54And we have known about young people who don't want to get involved in gangs that kill them.
28:59I have heard about stories.
29:01And they terrorize their family.
29:02Yes.
29:02They say, I don't want to be involved in no gangs, so I read on me, next thing,
29:06two days after, they will kill them.
29:08It is vicious.
29:09So sad.
29:09It is vicious.
29:10And we have to show an appreciation, a little understanding sometimes for the toxic environment
29:15some people come from.
29:17Concerning the matter with, I think that you really need to be manned.
29:19Yes.
29:20By police.
29:20Anything that is new needs to be manned.
29:23For safety, right?
29:23That's right.
29:24And for the purpose of reinforcement, having an officer present, and making sure that.
29:29Because some people, too, they get carried away.
29:31But simple signs we had back to basic that some persons, I'm sure, when you saw it,
29:37they can't even identify what the sign means.
29:39So far less will be seeing these new features that would be placed for you to understand.
29:43You can't drive in this lane.
29:44I mean, the lane has switched.
29:46So we have to take our time regardless.
29:48And I'm sure Sergeant Batson and his entire team will be able to move forward with regards
29:54to making sure persons remain safe.
29:56Because, you know, that is something he holds very close to his heart, making sure citizens
30:01on the roadways are safe.
30:02Yes, that is a safety guru.
30:04That man, each drink and sleep safety, an excellent police officer.
30:08Yes, he is.
30:08More than that, I want to say that some people, when you pull them over, they say, the officer
30:11didn't really sign.
30:12Yeah.
30:13Or most of the times, we don't have proper signage.
30:15Yeah.
30:16Let's start there.
30:16And how do we, you know, at the end of the day, some people justify it because they want
30:22to get away, you know, because they can't say yes, I already signed, I apologize.
30:25They say, the officer, oh God, I really didn't see the sign, you know.
30:27But they read it.
30:28But because they get away once, twice, after the time, you have all kind of people using
30:32the nation's road and sometimes officers have to use their due diligence and caution them
30:36and say, listen, man, you know, you can do better than that.
30:39Or make them an example, but you can do it respectfully.
30:42Yes.
30:42But I think it's a matter like that, that it will be manned and Sergeant Batslem, who
30:47are well educated, but know the proper lighting and officers who would require manning and
30:55offering people notice very early in terms of what is ahead.
30:58All right, guys, we need to take that short break.
31:00When we come back, we'll continue with more.
31:02Guys, today we're going to start a new topic and that topic is entitled...
31:18There is no way I could teach in all that noise.
31:22And there is definitely no way we children could learn in that noise of violence.
31:27That is why I support the TCPS School Oriented Policing Initiative.
31:44This is not just about law enforcement.
31:48It's about building trust.
31:50Parents, teachers, students, and officers all coming together to provide a safe space where
31:59young minds can flourish.
32:01If we all stand side by side, we can protect our children, keep them safe, and they could
32:09have a space to learn without anxiety and fear.
32:14I am ready to partner with the TCPS in fostering safe, respectful, and empowered schools across
32:24Trinidad and Tobago.
32:25It's not a simple task.
32:27We need parents, students, teachers, and communities to get involved.
32:34It's time to get on board.
32:36Securing our schools.
32:38Securing our future.
32:45Being a salesman had its challenges, but the real challenge was making out the receipt.
32:52I knew one day it will catch up with me.
32:55I didn't know about the phonics.
32:57And when I went into the class, it was like a mind-blowing thing.
33:02When you go there, you actually learn.
33:05I have achieved a lot from my two years with Alta.
33:07Today, looking back, it was the best decision I made in my entire life.

34:14The mega-hit comedy Scandal in Cedrus is back for one final night.
34:19We thought we were done, but you demanded it.
34:21So we're having one final show of the record-breaking play at Queen's Hall on Saturday, the 12th of September
34:27at 8.30 p.m.

34:41It's our last performance.
34:43Don't miss it.
34:45For the investigations that matter most to TNT, turn to the team you trust.
34:50The TV6 News.
34:51We do the work to uncover the facts, ask the important questions, and report on the issues that impact your
34:56community and the nation at large.
34:58This is more than just news.
35:00It's accountability, the undisputed number one program in Trinidad and Tobago, delivering the hard-hitting investigations you rely on.
35:08The TV6 News, revealing facts, provoking opinions.
35:25Now, I have a question for you, Corporal, and of course, to the nation.
35:29When you see a white shirt and blue pants on the nation's roads, walking, and you're seeing there's a lot
35:39of traffic, you realize, wait, those are licensing officers.
35:43Yes.
35:43And many times when we see licensing officers, everybody starts to panic.
35:48Yes.
35:48But in this case, they didn't need to, although some, I'm sure, were panicking a little bit.
35:53Okay.
35:53But let's just say we saw the transport commissioner, Mr. Clark.
35:58Yes.
35:59He was out.
36:00Along with his other officers, to do something extremely special.
36:05Let's take a look.
36:06This is our road safety, school book, and accessories drive.
36:17It's a privilege this morning for me to have a conversation about road safety with a different twist and about
36:25enforcement.
36:27And in doing so, I want to first take the opportunity to congratulate the transport officers for coming together to
36:37put a new twist to enforcement.
36:40You see, enforcement is not just about issuing fixed penalty notices or summary offenses.
36:46It's about reaching the younger ones who will be the future drivers for tomorrow.
36:51And we believe strongly if we could touch the hearts at this point in time, we will see better drivers
36:57on the nation's road.
36:59So, Ms. Pat Riley, together with the team, have come together, as you can see, to work along with the
37:08community and with drivers on the road to distribute what we call
37:15our school book and accessories program.
37:20In so doing, our road operations today will be one in which we will not be issuing fixed penalty tickets,
37:29but we'll be finding the young ones in vehicles, in their homes, on the streets, and educating them via minor
37:39tokens to school book accessories as they return to school.
37:43I expect, though, that this program will not be, will be across different areas within Trinidad and Tobago.
37:52Obviously, we don't have that type of support for the entire, for the entire island, but we still think we
37:57can make a difference with what we have.
37:59I want to take the opportunity to also say that what you see here today is as a result of
38:06the officers coming together,
38:09reaching out to key stakeholders who have an interest in this type of activity,
38:14who have decided that they will work together with licensing to participate in this program.
38:36So, we are here on Itokoro in Matura, along with Mr. Thomas, right? Mr. Thomas here, came brought us here
38:47to introduce us to some of these
38:49children in the area, who are intent to give us some of our school books to, and on this school
38:55drive.
38:56One of our drives is also to be with road safety, teaching the youths about road safety.
39:01So, when you're ready to get your license, do something about road safety, alright?
39:08Giving out little tokens to kids to help them, started school, right?
39:13I'm telling you to come to Lockyard.
39:17So, what shall you do, something you want to do with her, yeah?
39:20Yeah.
39:21You're all right?
39:23You're very good?
39:24Yeah.
39:24Nice.
39:25So, it's a bar cap softening that you all have done about roads, in here on the road as well,
39:30right?
39:41Hi, I'm Officer Francis, I'm licensed in division currently.
39:44Now, I know people would have known that we are known for giving their tickets, and how
39:50do they say they don't like us?
39:52Yeah.
39:52Now, in us doing this drive here for the school children, because we would have listened to
39:56the public as well, knowing that people are going through hard times right now.
39:59So, ourselves, along with some of the officers, and some people that have contributed, which
40:04is businesses, towards this drive, I would like to find out how do you all think what
40:09we are doing here today?
40:10If it's something good, what is your idea, your aspect, and this drive that we are doing
40:15here?
40:16It's very good, especially for us single mothers, who are really happy to help.
40:21Yeah, it's very good.
40:22I really like what we are doing here, man.
40:24It's a good thing.
40:25It's a good thing.
40:26Yeah, but it's true, isn't it?
40:27It's a good thing.
40:28Yeah.
40:41Corporal, those white shirts, a job well done, though, by, of course, the transport commissioner,
40:47along with his licensing officers, who made their way in a beautiful space in Trinidad.
40:53Very innovative.
40:54Very innovative.
40:56It's called for a different type of education approach, too.
40:59I must commend Mr. Clark and Ms. Riley and the team.
41:03I'm happy that they use police, so it's not just a licensing office initiative, but police
41:09working in concert, and that's what we need to do.
41:11I think we need to continue.
41:13It should be a national project.
41:15It will remind young people that we're not here to…
41:18Like what did little child send?
41:20Oh, my God.
41:21You have a ticket?
41:22Yeah.
41:22Oh, I totally come to arrest me.
41:24Yes, yeah.
41:24That was refreshing, and I want to salute Mr. Riley and also Mr. Edwards.
41:31You know, well done.
41:32Excellent.
41:33And this is what we need.
41:33We need to have more of that, you know, going into schools, meeting them on the corner,
41:37on the block, you know, so that young people have an awareness that one day I'll be a driver,
41:42too.
41:42And therefore, these are the requirements, and therefore, the same vehicle driving could be a vehicle
41:47that they're taking you home, or it could be a death trap.
41:50And that is important that we instill it very early, and also laws are there not to
41:55fuck you down, but it's a day of protection, a day of safety.
41:59So…
41:59And order.
42:00That's right.
42:01Don't forget that.
42:02Congratulations to the licensing department.
42:04And don't forget St. James, police, you can please be on.
42:07Well, we still have more to come, but we need to take that break.
42:10We'll be back.
42:11We'll be back.
42:13We'll be back.

47:04Thank you so much, Colin.
47:12You all have some very educated and well-informed collars.
47:15And you need to go to the red class.
47:17We start early with our children.
47:19It's all proactive.
47:20I think it's an absolutely excellent tool using police, youth clubs, youth organizations,
47:26the girl guides.
47:27Let's start early with them.
47:28Let's start a 120-point system.
47:32We are training them to become good drivers, respectful drivers.
47:36The way you are is the way you drive.
47:37If you're arrogant, stupid, ignorant, myopic self-centered, you can imagine a person dying
47:42and then you have people, polyaddicts, smoking marijuana, drinking alcohol.
47:47They're behind the wheel and they are servicing and sharing the nation's road.
47:53That is madness.
47:55Yes.
47:55So let's start early with our young people.
47:57Let them know what is a good driver.
47:58And let's give them incentives and the insurance company to do that as well.
48:03You take out their insurance, you do very well.
48:05It should be an incentive that for two years you have been in an accident.
48:08So that we need to look at rebranding and encouraging and giving incentives to people who are law-abiding and
48:15starting first with young people.
48:16Yes.
48:16That is an absolutely excellent idea.
48:18Well, we saw that with the licensing officers where they were given back.
48:22So hopefully they will do that for the adults moving forward.
48:25I hope so.
48:25We have another call.
48:26Caller, good evening.
48:28Hi.
48:28Good evening.
48:30Hi.
48:30Good evening.
48:31Good evening.
48:32My brother.
48:33I want to commend you on the great both that you have in the world with you.
48:37That's it.
48:38And look for what I'm going to reveal that I am.
48:40Are you in a sense that I am not worth listening to mine.
48:44You know what listening to mine means to be one another way at home.
48:49No consequences for the action.
48:52No.
48:54Twenty-four negotiations were obtained, as a franchise, and the data was obtained from the government.
49:08Twenty-four.
49:11Twenty-four negotiations are going on to be an amendment.
49:17I'm not you for that.
49:21I'm not saying that the HLNN didn't have anything, but it is not a criminal law,
49:31we were locked up and not being able to continue that.
49:35We were going to do no effect.
49:39That's what we agreed to.
49:40We were going to do no effect.
49:41It was killed in my side and the business of the country.
49:44You know, so, in the world of state, you know,
49:47there was the regular rule of use in Parliament,
49:53where a lot of Ukraine takes place to the big.
49:57It is because of that world of state, by the general attack.
50:02I am just acting in the end of the year,
50:06if you could go to the end of the year,
50:08we don't have to do the issues instead.
50:11We need to go to the end of the year,
50:12not us.
50:14We don't have to pay for the army at the time.
50:18Yes.
50:18Correct.
50:33Thank you so much, sir.
50:37All right.
50:39That's it.
50:46Thank you very much, my brother, for the encouragement.
50:52You're amazing, you know?
50:54God continues to bless you.
50:56You're amazing.
50:56God is blessing you to guide you dealing with young,
51:00and not just young people, with people.
51:01Yes, yeah.
51:02You're not giving up.
51:03You're not stopping.
51:04It is the empathy.
51:05You know, the encouragement.
51:06When people meet you and you are saying,
51:08like the caller now saying,
51:11excellent work, but that gives you the empathy
51:12to continue your encouragement.
51:15You know, and sometimes you see people,
51:17I remember half of them, obviously.
51:19And that is good.
51:20That is applaudable.
51:21And there are people doing good work on the ground.
51:23We need to applaud them.
51:24Yes, yeah.
51:24We need to salute them.
51:25So thank you very much, caller.
51:27And I thank God for wisdom, knowledge,
51:29and understanding.
51:30Yes.
51:30When it comes to the package.
51:31But I agree with what you were saying,
51:32where it comes to our justice system
51:35is in some serious need of working together,
51:38where the TTPS is clearly boots on the ground.
51:43Look what you mentioned in the SOE update.
51:46Jails back to capacity.
51:47Yeah, but we saw persons being arrested,
51:49and then we discharged,
51:51and we made the convictions quickly as possible.
51:55Mm-hmm.
51:56Yeah?
51:56Yeah, and some offence are billable offence,
51:58and the police service can do nothing more.
52:00They have done their due diligence.
52:02They have arrested.
52:03Mm-hmm.
52:03They have charged.
52:05And therefore, because of the offence,
52:07it has become an billable offence,
52:08and the person is already following it.
52:10Mm-hmm.
52:10And so therefore, the judiciary,
52:11the law must now be crafted in a way
52:13where people are more comfortable.
52:15So let's say no bill for you.
52:16You're mad.
52:17You're held with a gun.
52:18No bill.
52:19You're held with ammunition.
52:20So therefore, the law must be tougher.
52:23It must reflect the toughness that will mean business
52:25if you are held without fire,
52:26if you're held with ammunition.
52:29Mm-hmm.
52:29That is not a duty of the police.
52:31The police can only lobby,
52:32and probably through the commissioner
52:33and through the association,
52:34they can probably make those kind of arrangements
52:38and request me to make the laws a little more tough.
52:41Yes.
52:42and through members of the public.
52:44Now, you have to congratulate someone today.
52:48Well, yeah.
52:48Listen to me.
52:49I must say congratulations to my son.
52:55Mm-hmm.
52:56He has done justice.

53:09he has been absolutely clear
53:10he don't want to be a police officer.
53:11He has no intelligence to be a criminal enforcement.
53:14Right.
53:15I want to thank my wife.
53:18You know, we have provided for him the environment.
53:20Yes.
53:21The ingredients to make him an excellent student.
53:23And this is not just for Malik too.
53:25It's for all those who did well at CX.
53:28And even those who didn't do well,
53:30there's life after school.
53:32Mm-hmm.
53:32So, I want to personally commend him.
53:34I want to congratulate him.
53:36I want to show that his stickability,
53:37his discipline, attitude,
53:40all that have paid off.
53:41We want to register him today
53:42to the lower 6th and our 6th.
53:44In CIC?
53:45Yes.
53:46All right.
