04:27what's going on in tobago with the two-year-old angelo well miss husbands and john tobago unfortunately
04:34i don't have a good news i communicated with woman acting assistant superintendent
04:39back us yes um shortly before the program commenced and um she informed me that the
04:47searches today for no success notwithstanding that i want to thank fema who assisted by way of
04:56june services i want to thank the hunter search and rescue team as well who um assisted us to the
05:04um members of the defense force namely the coast guard who was you know doing the diving and stuff like
05:09that um but we will continue to you know search for this toddler so that we could bring um
05:16some sort of closure to this we again want to say condolences to the family and we want to just
05:24caution persons in open media space and public about their comments and the investigative skills
05:31and their opinion remember this is a sensitive matter so let's just you know give the people
05:37their respect yes now we head back to trinidad now and we know when it comes to home invasions we're
05:43still seeing the spike happening throughout and in the penal area they said the devils were out
05:49because they said they were beaten by devils now a penal woman has described a group of bandits
05:55who broke into her family's home and assaulted her and other family members as devils walking on the
06:02earth during the incident which occurred on monday the bandits poisoned the family's pet dog broke into
06:09their home and held the woman her sister and a teenage nephew hostage while searching for hundreds of
06:15thousands of thousands of dollars they believe was kept there in an ordeal which lasted almost an hour
06:22and a half four men armed with if i am and cutlasses repeatedly beat the three family members and ransacked
06:29the rooms combing every inch searching for the cash while in contact via cell phone with an accomplice
06:38the victim one of the victims stated i honestly thought i was going to die
06:43i am seeing a gun and a man saying tonight you all will die said one of his sisters when
06:50the
06:50experts visited the victims yesterday now the victim said the men gained entry to their home by
06:56pricing open a door to the rear of the property after poisoning the dog once inside the intruders
07:03confronted the sisters and nephew tied them up and assaulted them while repeatedly demanding for four
07:09hundred and fifty thousand dollars the victims said the criminals ransacked bedrooms cupboards and drawers
07:16as they searched for the cash which was not there during the attack the victim said they were threatened
07:22and beaten as the intruders continued their search throughout the property now the sisters said that the
07:29bandits upon not finding the large sum of money they expected to find eventually grabbed the family's gold
07:36jewelry and disclosed some of u.s currency and approximately fifty thousand tt dollars before
07:44fleeing in one of the sisters nissan b-15 valued at twenty five thousand dollars that was parked on the
07:51property the victims later managed to free themselves and when they emerged from the house they saw their pet
07:57husky named max line dead they raised an alarm with their neighboring relatives who contacted the police yes b
08:05miss husband and i could go on and on but i i i heard um the discussion by the victim
08:17last night and i was
08:19listening i listened attentively how she recounted the incident and i said to myself my god where
08:29you know what's really going on yeah you you these people remain traumatized and of course the police
08:36service would assist with council and the bear of a victim witness victim witness and support unit yes and
08:42it's really really sad i know investigations are going on and of course we will always tell the public
08:47if you see something say something all we want is the information yes but we need to take it one
08:52step further
08:53because when you listen to the things that these persons were demanding and i'm not certain if the
09:00people has a business but i'm not certain you know it figures it did it did it the morning as
09:06you can
09:07a moment yes fifty thousand dollars and we always ask people be careful who comes to your home be careful
09:13what you discuss be careful what you display how you carry about yourself who has access to your your private
09:21and confidential information it's not even a discussion that you should be having and they're still left
09:26yes with fifty thousand dollars yes liquid cash a vehicle and jewelry and jewelry so it it forms the
09:36notion that there's somebody who is closer connected to these people to know that would have given these
09:42guys the information they came with information they came with intelligence because they were able to
09:47walk with the right things to poison the dog so they had a plan people need to be careful of

09:58business to because you might be you might consider somebody your best friend but you may not be their best

10:13something simple as plumbing plumbing electrical contractor things you have to make sure and verify these
10:20individuals if you have to go so extreme as a gathering like listen i need a copy of your id
10:26or something that
10:28you know could tie back to an individual because you just don't know the person may not have intentions
10:36initially but when you're talking freely in your home and you know they realize me what is going on in
10:42here i seen all these items they have money placed here money placed there everywhere and you know
10:51we continue to caution persons we continue to speak to persons and yet still you know a lot of persons
10:58still of the opinion that it wouldn't happen to me i mean to change that mindset and i saw that
11:04is really
11:05so let me tell you why i decided this is my home i am living here i paid for this
11:11place so imagine i
11:14know have to be on my p's and q's because i have to make sure that whoever i bring in
11:20my space or be
11:22careful how i speak in my home around individuals that i may hire for a service because they are so
11:28as the
11:28person said devils are walking yeah the evil ones are roaming and that is crazy to me where we have
11:35to reach this point where the ttps now has to come to tell us what we need to do in
11:40our own homes to
11:40protect ourselves and from individuals and they have no care no they don't ask the women or children
11:47but it just goes back to the point somebody's in the neighborhood some relative some friend i'm not
11:53we're not relative some relatives some friends some neighbor saying would he alone there he just get
11:59a pension somebody the driver who he does hire probably the ticket to get a pension and these
12:06kind of thing might be saying we won't have it yeah but we need to be so careful of these
12:12criminals right
12:13who are committing these crimes again and i'm stressing they're they're not afraid of the ttps
12:19i mean they're not afraid of anything clearly because they are very bold with the way in which
12:25they conduct themselves already and anytime any place anywhere in so we are no business
12:31just this at this point it has reached where i am i i don't know what to say to the

12:42show force is too much force if you don't show enough force is too little force but the forces you

13:03are not going anywhere only hired exercises when they are not going anywhere because nobody wants to
13:10be inconvenienced but policing the measures that we have to take at some point in time will cause
13:15somebody someone a motorist a neighbor a neighborhood some sort of discomfort or inconvenience
13:21at the point in time it's not that we necessarily go to do that but this is what the this

13:27job entails yeah you know so we may you may not have access to the street for a while or
13:31you may be
13:32not trafficked because of the roadblock and of course they left with it because they stole from the
13:37persons the stolen items went into the because yet still when we set up our roadblock the motor in
13:45public most of the times they upset because they're inconvenienced by the traffic well i'm really hoping
13:49that we could get some justice for that family in penile and speaking of justice also just to note
13:54that i understand 25 persons were also held in a home invasion ring um from the ttps so as the
14:00ttps continues
14:01to work extremely hard and i heard it being discussed in parliament right and and and this is what we
14:08are
14:08saying so and we're not going to throw our hands up in here 25 persons held thus far in home
14:13invasion
14:14since the bill passed right over four persons met their demise as a result of engaging the police as a
14:23result of home invasion yet still they're still doing it like nobody learned anything and that's why i said
14:30when it goes to the court after you all do all of that work they need to have serious penalties
14:35in
14:35place to deal with them it can be a slap on the wrist when it goes before the court and
14:41that is why
14:41they're feeling bold enough to continue to commit the crime and when they serve whatever time because
14:46they're on vacation they come back out and they do the same thing right now it's time to take a
14:50look at
14:51our soe update today as of may 14th 2026 number of operations 5389 number of targets prior to offenders
15:031 690 searches conducted 2695 traffic operations 3149 total prisons arrested 2363 total prisons charged 493
15:21firearms recovered we're seeing increase with the pistols also the air rifles and a total of 147
15:28and ammunition recovered ammunition recovered or increased with the 9 millimeter given us a total
15:32of 3122 and dangerous drug sees we're seeing an increase with the cannabis cocaine and the grams of
15:41meth and phetamine esp yes we'll be back up to the firearms and the ammunition and and it's very very
15:49um
15:50concerning when you see the synthetic drugs yes yes yes because you know that is really taking place
15:57among a certain age group yeah and we're asking the parents to caution your children speak to your
16:03children not because they they have attained the age of 18 mean there's man and woman in the place and
16:08they could do what they want parents you do you have to wait till it's parents parents need to just
16:15really
16:16hold on to them hold on to them caution them educate them research it show them ddddd the cons because
16:25there's no pros no it's like they want to know all the negative um consequences of engaging in these
16:33drugs and lots of these drugs some of them are gateway drugs that leads you onto things that would give
16:37you a more addictive like you know yeah so we have to really be careful it's very very concerning when

16:45see methamphetamine stuff like that but we continue to fight around to be good i was not gonna say that

37:09compound is properly fenced and they jump the wall and your dogs attack them
37:16then they are responsible for what happened to them but what i would want to advise the owners of the

37:23if you ever recognize that the criminals
37:27have been totally incapacitated and they pose no more threat to you your family your loves one your loved ones
37:35please take the dog off of them and don't just leave the dog to continue to bite them
37:41because it's that step further what really gets us in trouble um the other question yes i see in your

37:56would depend on whatever information your criminals may have whatever devices that they may be using or
