Hunter Lawrence tames the sand of The Wick 338! Round 6 of the 2026 AMA Pro Motocross Championship brought the heavy hitters out for 450 Moto 1, and it was an absolute war of attrition in the deepest sand of the summer.
As the gate dropped, the brutal Southwick track immediately began to chew up the field. But it was Hunter Lawrence who put on a tactical masterclass. Showing incredible fitness, patience, and precise line choices, Hunter navigated the rough, shifting sand sections beautifully to seize control of the race and lock down a spectacular victory in Moto 1! He managed his gap perfectly ahead of a charging pack of heavy hitters to cross the finish line first.

00:00folks who dial in those bikes and they are based in New Hampshire so Tony's
00:04actually spent a lot of his time up here in New England testing his bike and he
00:08still knows how to ride sand. Amazing to have all this talent on this gate today.
00:14Before we continue make sure you're subscribed to the channel that way you
00:18won't miss any of the upcoming Motocross motos. If you haven't subscribed yet hit that subscribe button now.
00:26Watch for Prado who was fastest in the second qualifying session today. Very fast here last year. Here it comes.
00:36Sideways out of the gate. Oh he goes down. Lucas goes down in the first corner.
00:42Oh and it's LeMorges. It's up front. Chet over Hunter. Hunter going to try to take it away.
00:48We saw aggressive Hunter's bid in the opening parts of the races the last couple ones but now
00:53we've got the brothers out front. Two and one in the championship. Hunter has their red plate now
00:58but Jet Lawrence exactly I would say probably where he needs to be. Hunter Lawrence you know what time
01:03it is. Long race you got to get it done. And Deegan is third so you caught that. Lucas Kunin
01:09going down
01:10in the first turn so he has work to do as the Lawrence's do what they do which is get
01:15good starts.
01:16Yeah they definitely do. That's just amazing to watch these guys. It's like automatic at the point but
01:23yeah if you're going to see Lucas on the middle part he gets squeezed by I think it was Hey
01:28Deegan
01:28and then yeah that Southwick first corner that hard base I was talking about. I don't think he clips
01:33anybody but just goes down. Could put his foot down for a rear break. You're going to see him now
01:38get squeezed Hunter Lawrence cuts him off. Goes in there and yep just goes down. He's trying to track
01:46Prado there and see his trajectory and I think it was also might have been Karoli down also with Kunin.
01:54I think Karoli might have been the last to get up. Deegan all over Hunter Lawrence here on lap one.
02:01Yeah Hunter made a small mistake and Jet's trying to do his best Sasha impression and
02:06basically do what he always does. Gets away in the beginning. I think after you've got to believe
02:11after the last couple weekends for Hunter Lawrence he probably feels like this race is going to come
02:15back to me just as long as I don't let Jet get away. Somewhat you could say the Ken Robson
02:21effect at Supercross. We know how great Ken is at the beginning part of races. You have any kind
02:26of chance you got to stay there so I feel like now with Hunter being able to pass Jet late
02:30at the
02:30race he might have that JT. Yeah and I just wonder if this changes the algebra a little bit for
02:35Jet
02:36Lawrence. You know his whole career he's been able to just manage this small gap really without
02:41fail. No one's ever been able to kind of breach that gap once Jet settles in until last week and
02:47we know Jet's dealing with an injury and he's not able to fight 100% at the end but that
02:51was still
02:51a noticeable change. I just wonder if now Jet is going to have to try to sprint more early
02:56and build a bigger gap to try to offset Hunter's ability late. Yeah and then who knows and that goes
03:02back to my point of what I was saying with Hunter after what Hunter did last weekend that first moto
03:06he's probably like all right as long as I don't let him get too far away I feel like he's
03:10going to
03:11come back it's up to Jet to change that narrative again but he looks good to me but he always
03:15looks
03:16pretty good but like what I see he's just got to continue this pace if he can. But it really
03:23has been
03:23the last 10 minutes of the motos as of late where Hunter has done his best work and that's what
03:29he did
03:30last time out. That's what comes off and yeah Hunter's actually closing that gap back up
03:37right now I think a little bit was a mistake early in that lap by Hunter. Jet's incredible
03:42pace but also Hayden Deegan keeping the pressure on Hunter. You know that I believe this is a good
03:49thing for Hayden because he's been practicing up here he hasn't had a chance to really see these
03:53guys lately um in the motos to I guess be behind him to stay up there with him so don't
03:58go to work
04:01closing that gap.
04:04Yeah that has been the theme for Deegan in a while just uh learning learning learning trying to get
04:10better now we're going to go all the way back and steer the field here there goes Prado
04:14it's like March Banks Coonan is making passes at an alarming rate he's already into the top 20
04:20after starting about 39 there he is in orange on the 104. Wow I mean to make make all those
04:29passes
04:30that early in the race and he didn't just get up when everybody else he was a ways back so
04:34we saw how
04:35difficult it was to pass in that 250 class unless you got a lot of speed like both of them
04:40do good
04:41it sounds for Lucas to see if he keep going but pretty impressive to make all those passes wow
04:45he's going to put the pressure on Floss on the liquid Molly beta and goes right by
04:50say put pressure on him no pressure there was no pressure I didn't even see him coming so yeah
04:56there's nothing uh to Benny that just shows you how quickly Lucas is going at the moment
05:02yeah the same thing to Jordan Smith so Coonan is into 13th place
05:08on the third lap
05:11that's unbelievable yeah that's that's unbelievable and again we just saw the 250 classes when guys
05:16would catch up now I will say this once he gets up here the competition will get a lot stiffer
05:21there he's got the hard battling so might not be as easy but at the same time you just see
05:27him
05:27how much time he's making up on these guys he's passing before they even realize he's there yeah
05:33that's Valentin Guillaume that he just went by you don't see guys make passes it's easily kind of
05:39reminds me a little bit of the guy I'm sitting next to you right now how quickly he's going through
05:44this
05:44field yeah but I guess my my difference they they knew I appreciate that they knew I was coming I
05:50was
05:50out of control they don't even realize this guy's coming so no nevertheless it's beautiful to watch
05:57quiet assassin right now Lucas Coonan JT yeah as we watch Coonan move through the pack I just want
06:02to give a shout out to these guys at the front because yes Lucas Coonan just blowing past these
06:06guys towards the front but his last lap time was a 204 the pace at the very front last lap
06:11was a two
06:12minute clap so yes I think he will pick up that pace but those guys out front are really pushing
06:17right now well shout out to Deegan for hanging with that two minute lap time just like the Laurence's he's
06:23going with them and yes four seconds faster the top three than fourth place Corandis yeah and but
06:31if you notice that it's the top three that's in that two minute and then the gap to for and
06:35this
06:35is 204 and that just kind of shows you when these guys latch into each other they have a pace
06:41and
06:41I believe Lucas is riding just as fast as these guys out front but he might not have that that
06:46pace
06:46because he's not in that same battle with him but it's moving hey Cooper hey bye Cooper there it is
06:52wow
06:54so another pass for the 104 he's into the top 10 now here's Tondal who we just mentioned got picked
07:02up by Monster Energy Kawasaki that's Chase Sexton's bike Sexton out for the season with a torn ACL
07:08Tondal a Norwegian who moved to America one year ago started racing here at this race what a journey it
07:15has been for him he's invested a moto is 12th he's in ninth right now he just looked back he
07:20knows
07:22yeah well he he knows but just going back to what we were talking about those leaders Lucas has ran
07:28a
07:28two-a-one that would make it passes yeah he's got it going Katie yeah he does got it going
07:34but you
07:35know one thing it's interesting right when we talk about when they join a new team it's a lot of
07:39lingo
07:39it's a lot of different languages it's a lot of new faces and just even understanding what he likes on
07:44the pit board he was talking with Rango earlier today in the pits and he was like what do you
07:48like for him he likes just numbers and just a couple of and just the insights there nothing
07:52inspirational but it was really interesting i thought wow these guys really do have to learn
07:57when they're jumping into this new team even though he might be comfortable on a couch
08:01yeah the language is uh quite a bit different and that's what's even going back to Lucas and Sasha
08:07to be able to they have to adapt to that as well and obviously there's different opportunities and
08:13experience at least they're on the same bike same team but it's a new um you know new experience for
08:18those guys as well check back here with the leader jet lawrence he's pushed it to 3.6 seconds
08:25but it looked like he had redbud in hand in the first moto as well
08:30with the way hunters been winning these races as of late all you can do is wait
08:34and see how it plays out but right now it looks great for the number one yeah it looks good
08:38and
08:39the good part about this race is that jetta actually get more comfortable we've seen this in the past
08:45he gets more comfortable and then he'll start slowing down which will end up going faster like he jumps
08:50up um over these bumps he's very well he does that very well better than anybody else when he's out
08:57front so i know what happened last weekend but hunter lawrence seemed to me he was a lot closer than
09:02even
09:02you know this weekend jet looks like he has that pace and um i like what i see with number
09:08one
09:08because he looks more like jet large to me
09:12jt yeah i just wanted to add to that that pit board uh conversation there for lucas kunin he has
09:18actually has jay dungy who is eli tomac's typical mechanic but for sasha kunin he actually
09:23brought his mechanic over from red bull ktm factory racing to carly actually read the pit board during
09:29that first 250 moto i have no idea what it said it might have been hieroglyphics for all i'm concerned
09:34lucas kunin's pit board much more easy to read just position and lap time
09:41hard to keep up with that because he's making up so many positions
09:44good battle back here that is ferrandes on the ducati he's the head of this group that is fourth
09:49prado is right behind him on his red bull ktm hampshire march banks van de moosdyke and then it would
09:56be koonin so this is going to get interesting this pack right here yeah give it a couple laps
10:01um maybe less than that the 104 be joining these guys and good part they got a great battle going
10:08on dylan's leading this charge right here you can tell he's about 15 seconds or so behind um hate
10:14deegan so for him he's dictating that he doesn't have that rabbit to chase because hate's so far from
10:20him so this vital might bunch up just because of that um rabbit dylan's not having to chase and he's
10:25gotten to see in his lines now there's a lot of intrigue on the ducati yesterday because over
10:30in mxgp where they have quite a few sand races they've been better for the ducati on the hard
10:35pack than the sand so they were wondering how it worked so far so good today for frantis katie
10:41yeah so far so good he did go down and qualify and then that second one uh with a couple
10:46of changes
10:46within the suspension in the front end but he said he was good the bike was good you know one
10:50of the
10:50things that was also interesting about what he was telling me last week's recovery after redbud
10:55was maybe a little bit different than what he had had in years past it was so hot it was
10:59so human
11:00and he had had that crash within the moto so recovery for dylan was a little bit different this week
11:04than what is traditional well thanks katie yeah there's been a lot of learning going on over there
11:11and he's going to learn quickly because here comes prado
11:17oh trying to make moves now jorge had a great pace this morning looking good actually been looking
11:26solid all day long kind of stuck behind dylan at the moment got to feel like if jorge can get
11:31around
11:32them like my photo trying to pull that gap because the 104 is coming for sure lucas
11:38how about this battle you got the frenchman the spaniard the spanish rider hampshire from america
11:45march base america then the dutchman and the belgian rider and then tondel from norway unbelievable
11:52how this has turned out especially this summer and then you have two australians out front
11:57oh there's the entire entry list look at how many countries represented it is the world cup
12:04in a different sense here as prado tries to figure a way around horrendous i believe one of our guys
12:12went down jt jt yeah he did i was trying to pick up i watched in real time some one
12:16of those uh in the
12:17battle there ended up on the ground but i'm very interested to see if lucas kunin catches up to the
12:23rear of jorge prado how that goes down because that's a battle of pride remember prado won two times
12:29in a row the championship that lucas kunin is currently leading in europe at the moment and they
12:34are on that same red bull ktm team he is not going to want to watch lucas kunin right off
12:38into the
12:39sunset here and now jt it's odd that by the way kunin being only 19 races a 450 but isn't
12:45it true that
12:45part of it was because prado's departure from that team kind of left an opening for kunin to take
12:51well but there's no question that was the direct result of prado heading to america it left red bull
12:57ktm to carly racing without a premier rider enter enter lucas kunin and here we are a couple of years
13:03later yep might be bar to bar here soon if kunin keeps it up prado riding very well still cannot
13:08get
13:08ferrandus and it indeed was hepshire he dropped from this group yeah shout out to dylan dylan's picked up
13:16the pace as well because he was able to get around but yeah it looks like going a tough break
13:22for rj he
13:23was in the middle of all these guys show you the hampshire crash here he is in the middle of
13:29the
13:29white ospartum yeah you can see him like he wasn't all the way in that firm and he's just caught
13:34like
13:34a ledge at a hard face to it um and just loses the front end just until injury get roosted
13:41and you
13:42heard levi on that first motor you talk about when you stop here that heat hits you it's tough enough
13:46just to deal with the sand in general but stopping is even worse oh look at this last time around
13:55hunter lawrence six tenths quicker than jet yeah and this was the question and i'm more interested to
14:02see how jet's body language looks you know does it look a lot different the way he's riding attacking
14:07these bumps than he did a couple laps ago because he looked a lot better but then we go back
14:11to the
14:11beginning part of race because of what hunter did last weekend it doesn't put as much pressure on him
14:16if he doesn't let his brother get too far away and at this moment hunter's living in the moment
14:22i did it last weekend i've done it uh to jorge and this is going to happen it looks like
14:29hunter has a uh
14:31his front uh oh the fourth guard yeah four cars off wow now they're saying it's sectors two and three
14:38where he is faster and you see kunin looking to make the move on march banks at the bottom box
14:44i'll show
14:44you where sector two begins it's going to be right after this jump right after this so this is the
14:51area
14:51from here where hunter's been making up time like all the same right there
15:01and the bottom box koonin is right there now with prado and ferrandes and ahead of march banks
15:08yeah it might not be a fair test on this lap jason because you know hunter knows i'd like there's
15:14no
15:14point in getting too close to him in a section i can't pass because i got to eat all that
15:17brew so
15:17he might not have charged in there it clearly has uh paces
15:24it's like prado made the move around ferrandes so that'll move prado of course
15:30trying to get back in there horre's eye man i gotta go and koonin all over ferrandes now
15:36ferrandes the 2021 champion of this series helping develop that brand new ducati
15:43got pablo chiabadi there who is the manager of this racing program for ducati
15:50and we're halfway through the moto he hasn't been out here a while but plenty
15:54yet to unfold reminder to stock up a monster energy and here comes the 104.
16:00yeah when you get the shots just watch how much momentum lucas has around the whole racetrack
16:06especially like his middle part of his corners and even entering he's just going a lot faster than
16:12everyone else and you can just tell when he when he gets to these guys it's almost like he's getting
16:17held up well he is getting held up but it's almost shocking to him that they haven't
16:21they're going this pace as he just goes around the outside of dylan and that's that momentum i'm talking
16:25about running these different lines and that's the way you look at practice as well
16:33wow so from 39th to fifth and you know he's going to try to track del prado as well now
16:40the huge gap
16:41as mentioned is between third and fourth because deegan is running with the lawrence's he is 21 seconds
16:48ahead of prado and hunter continuing to close on jet for the lead yeah and we saw last weekend if
16:57once
16:57hunter got up uh close to jorge and the same thing with jet it's almost like he takes a little
17:02break
17:02and then he really attacks him and once he gets around him he puts in a sprint so at this
17:07moment with 13
17:08minutes left hunter understands like man i probably have him and if it was anybody else outside of
17:15my greatly talented brother i would just sit back and let this race come to me because eventually
17:19i'm gonna get that pass but you never know what number one and the teammates for the day now battling
17:25at the bottom prado and kunin prado leading him yeah jorge's definitely picked up the pace as you can see
17:34he's he's got to start to pull away from dylan but yeah if you just watch the these two uh
17:41you know
17:42luke and even hori at this moment just the momentum they got going around there but i will say this
17:48uh
17:48jet lawrence out front he can't allow like if you know the hard part is his race he's going to
17:54start
17:54worried about hunter maybe start slowing down but hey deegan's rod really good behind him only five and
17:59a half seconds so it's not like if jet was like i'll settle for second place on this motor if
18:04hunter's
18:04got too much pace hayden's been hanging with hunter pretty much his whole boat except these last couple
18:09laps he's got to deal with him as well well you've been revealing so much about race strategy we saw
18:17last week when hunter dug real deep to get to prado and then really took a lap to get his
18:24breath under
18:24control then go back at it so while they're playing that game a little bit it is actually deegan the
18:29quickest on track last time around almost waiting for the attack for the 96. yeah and the thing is
18:37hayden knows that as well he knows eventually what he wants is hunter to catch jet and then as those
18:43guys
18:43battling jets trying to block them brings hayden back in there so hayden's probably going to try to put his
18:48fast lap times in there and not let this gap because he knows the opportunity to be able to get
18:52these guys
18:52might be right now based on battling katie yeah that's right stew and one thing to note for jet
18:57was this week on wednesday he ended up going to the dock he wanted to make sure he wasn't doing
19:02anything
19:02extra damaging for his road out racing and the good news is he wasn't in fact he was looking for
19:07reassurance and there wasn't anything more harm any more harm to his foot the doc says he's on track
19:11and he's quicker than the average person and so that did have to give him a little bit of confidence
19:15also with that foot peg coming in so jet obviously feeling a little lighter here today
19:21yeah just you know thinking about this this battle i want to see how this goes because
19:26we have evidence of this going either direction think about the way hangtown went hunter sat back
19:31there he got into second and then jet at the halfway point he took off and he put in a
19:36couple laps
19:36that hunter had no response for you contrast that with last week at red blood where it really felt like
19:42there was a shift hunter really kind of weighed into jet at the halfway point the last few minutes jet
19:48had
19:48nothing to push back with so this is another test and i'm very curious to see how this goes but
19:54so far
19:54jets responded a little bit here hey responding also look at the bottom box there it is coonan
20:00pressure on and making moves looks like he got around prado yeah he was working on him jorge
20:06actually was doing a good job picking up his pace as they pulled away from dylan but yeah it's hard
20:11to
20:11stop that momentum when it's going but yeah to jt point that's what i was actually going to say i
20:16think it's a big
20:16photo for jet not to allow what happened last weekend happened again because that becomes a trend
20:22we know he knows how to race these guys and with the race strategies and i believe that's what he's
20:27doing having this uh opportunity as we watch a replay hunter's board guard i think pops off or
20:35see him hitting that hard bottom does that cause any issue really oh i mean no not at the moment
20:42as long as it stays off i think it's good that it's hanging towards the outside that it misses the
20:48one the uh tire but probably hunter's probably not even seeing that thing at the moment he's looking
20:54ahead at his brother and truthfully if he's looking down at that it's not going to be going fast anyway
20:59looking out that is not a functional part in so far as it doesn't affect the way the front suspension
21:05works it's designed to prevent the force from getting damaged from a rocks and roost as long as it
21:10starts as you said getting caught in something then you could have a problem we go back to prado
21:14very quick in the second qualifying session today and certainly was looking forward to southway because
21:20he has a ton of sand experience from his time at mxgp moved to belgium and holland area to ride
21:28sand a lot
21:29and riding well but not able to hold tuning back yeah another good solid moto for for hey at the
21:35moment
21:35i'm sure it's it is tough for him to watch uh you know lucas run by but if anything you
21:41know just
21:41follow his locks because lucas actually has some really good lines he's opening up some of the corners
21:45and even there until uh for hey switched up his line and let's see if he can make a rebound
21:51try to run him down because 104 he has a great pace
21:58and jet lawrence has opened it back to 3.7 seconds over hunter so trying to reclaim momentum in this
22:05series and jet has never lost on a 450 here at southwick three stars three wins he swept all the
22:12motos looking to do it again well it's it's hard to find many places that jets never lost
22:19right before we continue make sure you're subscribed to the channel that way you won't miss
22:26any of the upcoming motocross motos if you haven't subscribed yet hit that subscribe button now thanks
22:35that's rod bell there is hunter on the right we're going to show you deacon here who has definitely hung
22:41tough deacon certainly not the sand riding background of uh these riders who have spent time in europe
22:46including the lawrence's but he's riding pretty well here he's riding well and and those those
22:52two out front they just kept that pace going and and hayden wasn't able to close they didn't battle
22:57each other to slow it down and and hayden just kind of lost that toe jt yeah and to your
23:02point there
23:02james hayden has gotten a lot better in the sand if you go back to 2023 this was the round
23:07where he
23:08really struggled everybody was wondering a role can he ever figure the sand out he came back with a
23:13vengeance in 2024 back that up in 2025 rented this racetrack alongside cooper webb a few weeks ago
23:19and this is one of his best performances comparatively in 2026 so great job to hayden here
23:24well yeah jt and talking with the team actually when they did their 450 prep during 250 supercross
23:29they never did do a sand track setup until right after high plant where you're kind of talking about
23:34they came here they got that sand track setup going they said they have a different fork shock and
23:39chassis parts and then they continued on their stand um searching for their stand setup at in the
23:45carolinas at fennix dax fennix compound so they're really doing all they can to be a sand master as
23:51you guys said at the top of this race thanks katie yeah i got to imagine when you're new to
23:58the 450
23:59as we see another crash here from hampshire oh same thing oh yeah rj yeah i just wanted to say
24:09that
24:10was a little different because he just got up into that deep sand and then that uh bike buried on
24:15him
24:15got a little too far up in the burn and then yeah catches another round about with him
24:20i was going to say about deegan yeah when you have and have not raised to 450 before how important
24:27is it
24:27you how much is the setup going to change and how much do you have to work on that for
24:32a sand track
24:33compared to all the other testing it would have done well yeah it's a it's a huge difference and
24:37i think that's one of the things when i when i got to the bigger bike back then it was
24:40250 but then we
24:41went to 450 what i noticed is jumping from the little one sort of 2pdf to 450 was that you
24:47couldn't
24:47override it like my skills only got so far and then i really needed the bike and the team to
24:52help
24:53where in the 250 class i think hey his talent could override maybe some of the issues that he did
24:58have
24:58with the bike or you got jet lawrence hunter lawrence so competition bigger bike makes it look a lot
25:04drastic like it's a way off but really it's just um better talent and a harder motorcycle set up
25:11how about road van de moosheid here making tracks toward verandes this would be for seven so well done by
25:18march banks actually he got around verandes as well and now the dutchman looking to get the frenchman
25:25the three digits is in these days everybody on the three digits yeah uh getting it done and it was
25:31like man who is this guy it's a really friendly guy got to talk to him quite a bit yesterday
25:37he
25:37intended press day and we asked roan about growing up in the sand
25:46so um wait a minute i i think i know a track um 50 minutes from where i live i
25:51think it's similar
25:52dirt so um like i said i grew up racing uh the sand and um i just want to have
25:58a feel how it how it
26:00turns out here oh we heard there might have been a crash up front while we were sending it to
26:06the
26:06uh interview there with van de moosheid did it affect the lead yes hunter is now in the lead
26:12yeah yeah he went down somewhere he's still ahead of hate deegan which hates pretty close to him as
26:18well but yeah okay we got a replay here where joe shimoto went down earlier in practice so yeah you
26:29can see that so what happened was jet jumped a little too far he missed his his line he wanted
26:33to do
26:34he still tried getting into it that bike kind of hooked up and he still got in there got off
26:38balance and went down so easy mistake but he just probably jumped a couple inches too long and that
26:43caused that crash man is or does not scenarios we're used to seeing obviously this is all begins with
26:51the foot injury that he's trying to come back from but we are in the every time jet looks to
26:56be getting
26:57momentum on his side something leads to his undoing it's been the opposite for several years for him
27:04and now everything rolling the way of the 96. yeah i mean it's a tough break for a jet i
27:10mean i know
27:10it's he's still running in second all is good for him i mean he's still here in this championship but
27:16he's got to believe like a lot of that's caused by his brother hunter lawrence staying there putting
27:20that pressure maybe in the past that jet would get that gap you look over his gap to hayden deegan
27:2612 second gap i don't think that happens but hunter continues to fight and the fact is jet
27:31knows hunter is going to continue to fight and always be there in that moto he has to continue
27:35fighting um and it makes these mistakes obviously it's 96 there to capitalize could be his first moto
27:41loss on the 450 here at this track
27:46gets around caroli here puts him a lap down
27:52see how much farther inside that he was he hit that line that he wanted to do and
27:59wait is that couldn't is it the bike or is he dazed well he's walking off is it the motorcycle
28:09uh-oh this is not what you want to see for a rider managing a point lead over in mxgp
28:15no i believe that's that's him you look at his pants uh no and the bars
28:25oh man and this track is so unforgiving it's all right yeah
28:35just like jet lawrence you just never know what is going to happen i think we have it here
28:40prada was close yeah great ride obviously i don't know if lucas got oh no that was a motorcycle uh
28:48-oh
28:49yeah that bike locked up and you go for a ride when that happens
28:56yeah so it was both it was uh he hit the ground but
29:02james that reminds me so much of your crash you had here your bike locked up different jump different
29:08section same racetrack similar situation it just reminds me so much that once it stops momentum
29:13you're going forward it's game over yeah great to see him um walking off and yeah jt that was uh
29:20mine same thing it stopped in a little different circumstance i was late over there but
29:25yeah as a rider that is your worst fear i was wondering why he gave a little cowabunga whatever
29:31it was yeah obviously he was letting those guys know he's okay because you know everybody at ktm
29:35their heart dropped probably feeling bad good to see him out there but back to this dude
29:43he's hauling the mail right now the 9600 lawrence yeah for kunin that is the one thing that the ktm
29:49folks don't want to see happen him get hurt while out here competing in a race that's not part of
29:53the
29:54series that he's pursuing hopefully he's able to escape and maybe even will be back for moto too
30:01man prada was pushing him prada was close he's back up to fourth bell i noticed soon as lucas
30:08got by him from looking at jorge's line before that he switched it up so obviously he followed
30:13them and kept that pace on yeah and can't relax on these mistakes so be the first moto win for
30:21hunter
30:22and southwick that is good and he got a ride make life a little easier up that hill that's a
30:26huge hill
30:27you can't tell on tv but that's a big big help for lucas right there at the moment i would
30:33say that's
30:33the toughest hill in motocross that's even tougher than mount martin oh wow somebody else down yeah and the
30:38bad part christian craig we hear is the rider that hunter just went by the quad lock honda
30:45and this track knows no bounds yeah and ironically what jt was talking about when my bike blew up it
30:51was actually in that section that christian craig was down in it's a blind section that caught me
30:57out a couple times in my career
31:02well the record book won't show that this is five straight moto wins for hunter because the first
31:09moto last week got away it really wasn't his fault as they found out leaned it over in a corner
31:15got so
31:15much sand and maybe a rock in the chain guard just locked the bike up and that's why he fell
31:20and did not
31:22win the moto where he was clearly the best guy in the track yeah but just like this i would
31:27say the
31:27difference between this track and last weekend you notice that hunters almost went down a couple
31:32times this last lap now this is southwick this track will reach up and bite you as it did um
31:38all
31:38these guys so hunter's gotta be concentrated because the way this racetrack is it would come up and bite
31:44him and he'd be on the ground just like he was last weekend and that's the south southwick racetrack
31:49and if you're jet we saw the frustration last week how do you not let this type of momentum another
31:55wind slips away how do you stay positive through that he's got to be bumped yeah i mean he's gonna
32:02be but i think at the same time he looked better uh this weekend because he was able to pull
32:08away
32:08back um pull away from hunter yes he made that mistake um but last weekend when hunter got there
32:13he had no fight like there was nothing he could do at least this time he was showing some uh
32:17you know
32:18resilience and was getting away so who knows if hunter would have been able to catch him or not but
32:23he's gonna be upset but at the same time he's got to feel better about his performance that he had
32:27at least the fight here and still would of course have a shot at the overall win
32:33he can come back and win moto too definitely looked like he was capable of it but things are rolling
32:39hunter lawrence's way there's craig's bike still down you see him being attended to by the alpine
32:44stars medics hope that christian's okay veteran out of california hunter lawrence
32:52it is becoming more and more repeatable and more and more the same thing you're talking three
32:58totally different tracks in high point red button and southwick and this guy just keeps on winning
33:03yeah he does and he's doing them all different types of weight and eventually
33:08it has started getting in your mind you know your jet or anybody else like just like we thought about
33:13hayden deegan in that 250 class like oh boy no matter how big a lead down guy he's around he's
33:17going to be a problem the hunter showing that oh this track is tricky notice these guys they get a
33:27little loose going into the corners and then they'll just sit into it and put all that weight on the
33:31bike because they pretty much crashed um the only way they can save is by sitting and holding on wow
33:37and they're going to call it the red flag i would presume because craig's bike is still down in the
33:42middle of the track and that'll end this moto early and it was a foregone conclusion that hunter was
33:48headed for victory anyway again i hope craig's all right and saw the camera camera camera's uh mechanic
33:56back this weekend missed a couple of rounds with a bad back and hutch grant huntress and the crew chief
34:03had been filling in so hunter's gonna bring this home i can't remember the last time i saw a race
34:08end under red flag conditions yeah i don't know if i have either i don't think hunter believed that
34:14either he was still trying to like go fast but i'd have a tough time trusting it yeah to back
34:20it down
34:20like this my dad was like don't ever stop until you see checkered flags yeah anything else but yeah
34:27so hunter's gonna take a shortcut to the podium he has won the moto that's four out of the last
34:32five
34:33he's the word and again the one he didn't win was one that got away last week at red but
34:39he is the
34:39hottest property in this series it looked like jet might have an answer for him but the crash cost
34:44him expect a rematch in moto two
34:54deegan prado march banks will be top five man march banks just keeps racking up the solid rides
34:59on his monster energy kawasaki ahead of ferrandus vandemustic hampshire pundle and webb gonna round out
35:07the top 10. before we continue make sure you're subscribed to the channel that way you won't miss
