00:00Há tantas perguntas?
00:15Aqui ele vem!
00:20Ele vai lá.
00:22Ele vai lá.
00:23Lúcas vai lá na primeira parte.
00:26Oh!
00:26Agora jogando por wiem.
00:32Giovanni...
00:32We saw que découvrir Hunter has been in the about of the races the last couple ofAB
00:36dura,
00:57As the Lawrence's do what they do, which is get good starts.
01:00Yeah, they definitely do.
01:02That's just amazing to watch these guys.
01:04It's like automatic at the point.
01:06But yeah, you're going to see Lucas on the middle part.
01:10He gets squeezed by, I think it was Haydeegan.
01:12And then, yeah, that Southwick first corner, that hard base I was talking about.
01:16I don't think he clips anybody, but just goes down.
01:19Could put his foot down for rear break.
01:21You're going to see him now.
01:22He gets squeezed.
01:23Hunter Lawrence cuts him off.
01:24Goes in there.
01:25Yep, just goes down.
01:29He's trying to track Prado there and see his trajectory.
01:32And I think it was also, might have been Corolli down also with Coonan.
01:38And Corolli might have been the last to get up.
01:41Deegan all over.
01:42Hunter Lawrence here on lap one.
01:45Yeah, Hunter made a small mistake.
01:47And Jets trying to do his best Sasha impression and basically do what he always does.
01:52Gets away in the beginning.
01:54I think you've got to believe after the last couple of weekends for Hunter Lawrence, he probably feels like this
01:58race is going to come back to me.
02:00As long as I don't let Jets get away.
02:03Somewhat, you would say that Ken Robson affected Supercross.
02:07We know how great Ken is at the beginning part of races.
02:09You have any kind of chance.
02:10You've got to stay there.
02:11So I feel like now with Hunter, being able to pass Jets late at the race, he might have that
02:15JT.
02:15Yeah, and I just wonder if this changes the algebra a little bit for Jett Lawrence.
02:20You know, his whole career, he's been able to just manage this small gap really without fail.
02:25No one's ever been able to kind of breach that gap once Jett settles in until last week.
02:30And we know Jett's dealing with an injury and he's not able to fight 100% at the end.
02:34But that was still a noticeable change.
02:36I just wonder if now Jett is going to have to try to sprint more early and build a bigger
02:41gap to try to offset Hunter's ability late.
02:44Yeah, and then who knows?
02:45And that goes back to my point of what I was saying with Hunter.
02:48After what Hunter did last weekend, that first photo, he's probably like, all right, as long as I don't let
02:52him get too far away, I feel like he's going to come back.
02:55It's up to Jett to change that narrative again.
02:57But he looks good to me, but he always looks pretty good.
03:00But like what I see, he's just got to continue this pace if he can.
03:06But it really has been the last 10 minutes of the Motos as of late where Hunter has done his
03:11best work.
03:12And that's what he did last time out.
03:17That's what comes off.
03:18Yeah, Hunter's actually closing that gap back up right now.
03:22I think a little bit was a mistake early in that lap by Hunter.
03:25Jett's incredible pace, but also Hayden Deegan keeping the pressure on Hunter.
03:31We know that I believe this is a good thing for Hayden because he's been practicing up here.
03:35He hasn't had a chance to really see these guys lately in the Motos to, I guess, be behind him,
03:40to stay up there with him.
03:41So he'll go to work.
03:45Closing that gap.
03:48Yeah, that has been the theme for Deegan in a while.
03:52Just learning, learning, learning, trying to get better.
03:54Now we're going to go all the way back.
03:55Let's steer the field here.
03:56There goes Prado.
03:58It's like March Banks.
03:59Kunin is making passes at an alarming rate.
04:02He's already into the top 20 after starting about 39th.
04:07There he is in orange on the 104.
04:10Wow, I mean, to make all those passes that early in the race and he didn't just get up when
04:16everybody else, he was a ways back.
04:18So we saw how difficult it was to pass in that 250 class, unless you've got a lot of speed,
04:23like both of them, good signs for Lucas to see if he can keep going, but pretty impressive to make
04:28all those passes.
04:28Wow, he's going to put the pressure on Bloss, on the Liquid Valley Beta, and goes right by.
04:34I said put pressure on him.
04:36No pressure.
04:37There was no pressure.
04:38I didn't even see him coming.
04:39So, yeah, there's nothing to Vinny.
04:41That just shows you how quickly Lucas is going at the moment.
04:46Yeah, the same thing to Jordan Smith.
04:48So Kunin is into 13th place on the third lap.
04:55That's unbelievable.
04:56Yeah, that's unbelievable.
04:57And, again, we just saw the 250 classes when guys would catch up.
05:01Now, I will say this.
05:02Once he gets up here, the competition would get a lot stiffer.
05:05These guys are hard battling, so it might not be as easy, but at the same time, you just see
05:10him, how much time he's making up on these guys.
05:14He's passing before they even realize he's there.
05:16Yeah, that's Valentin Guillaume that he just went by.
05:20You don't see guys make passes.
05:22It's easily.
05:23It kind of reminds me a little bit of the guy I'm sitting next to you right now.
05:26How quickly he's going through this field.
05:29Yeah, but I guess my difference, they knew I appreciate that.
05:33They knew I was coming.
05:34I was out of control.
05:35They don't even realize this guy's coming.
05:37So, no, nevertheless, it's beautiful to watch.
05:41Quiet assassin right now, Lucas Kunin.
05:43Yeah, as we watch Kunin move through the pack, I just wanted to give a shout-out to these guys
05:47at the front because, yes, Lucas Kunin just blowing past these guys towards the front.
05:51But his last lap time was a 2-0-4.
05:53The pace at the very front last lap was a 2-minute clap.
05:57So, yes, I think he will pick up that pace.
05:59But those guys out front are really pushing right now.
06:02Well, shout-out to Deegan for hanging with that 2-minute lap time just like the Lawrencees.
06:06He's going with them.
06:07And, yes, four seconds faster in the top three than fourth place, Ferrandes.
06:14Yeah, but if you notice, it's the top three that's in that 2-minute, and then the gap to Ferrandes
06:19is 2-0-4.
06:20And that just kind of shows you when these guys latch into each other, they have a pace.
06:24And I believe Lucas is riding just as fast as these guys out front, but he might not have that
06:29pace because he's not in that same battle with him.
06:32But it's moving.
06:33Hey, Cooper, hey, bye, Cooper.
06:35There it is.
06:36Wow.
06:38So, another pass for the 1-0-4.
06:42He's into the top ten.
06:43Now, here's Tondal, who we just mentioned got picked up by Monster Energy Kawasaki.
06:47That's Chase Sexton's bike.
06:49Sexton out for the season with a torn ACL.
06:52Tondal, a Norwegian who moved to America one year ago, started racing here at this race.
06:58What a journey it has been for him.
07:00Season best in Emoto is 12th.
07:02He's in ninth right now.
07:03He just looked back.
07:04He knows.
07:06Yeah, well, he knows.
07:07But just going back to what we were talking about, those leaders, Lucas has ran a 2-0-1.
07:13That last lap.
07:14That'll make him pass.
07:15Yeah.
07:15He's got it going, Katie.
07:17Yeah, he does got it going.
07:18But, you know, one thing that's interesting, right?
07:20When we talk about when they join a new team, it's a lot of lingo.
07:23It's a lot of different languages.
07:24It's a lot of new faces.
07:26And just even understanding what he likes on the pit board.
07:28He was talking with Rango earlier today in the pits.
07:31And he was like, what do you like?
07:32For him, he likes just numbers and just a couple of, and just the insights there.
07:36Nothing inspirational.
07:37But it was really interesting.
07:38I thought, wow, these guys really do have to learn when they're jumping into this new team,
07:42even though he might be comfortable on a couch.
07:45Yeah, the language is quite a bit different.
07:48And that's what's even going back to Lucas and Sasha Tavilda.
07:53They have to adapt to that as well.
07:55And obviously, there's different opportunities and experience.
07:58At least they're on the same bike, same team.
08:00But it's a new experience for those guys as well.
08:05Check back here with the leader, Jet Lawrence.
08:07He's pushed it to 3.6 seconds.
08:09But it looked like he had Redbud in hand in the first moto as well.
08:14With the way Hunter's been winning these races as of late,
08:16all you can do is wait and see how it plays out.
08:19But right now, it looks great for the number one.
08:21Yeah, it looks good.
08:22And the good part about this race is that Jet actually get more comfortable.
08:28We've seen this in the past.
08:29He gets more comfortable, and then he'll start slowing down,
08:32which will end up going faster.
08:33Like, he jumps up over these bumps.
08:36He's very well.
08:38He does that very well, better than anybody else when he's out front.
08:41So I know what happened last weekend, but Hunter Lawrence seemed to me,
08:44he was a lot closer than even this weekend.
08:48Jet looks like he has that pace.
08:49And I like what I see with number one because he looks more like Jet Lawrence to me.
08:56JT.
08:56Yeah, I just wanted to add to that pit board conversation there.
09:01For Lucas Coonan, he actually has Jay Dungy, who is Eli Tomac's typical mechanic.
09:06But for Sasha Coonan, he actually brought his mechanic over from Red Bull KTM Factory Racing to Carly.
09:11Actually read the pit board during that first 250 moto.
09:14I have no idea what it said.
09:15It might have been hieroglyphics for all I'm concerned.
09:18Lucas Coonan's pit board, much more easy to read, just position and lap time.
09:25Hard to keep up with that because he's making up so many positions.
09:28Good battle back here.
09:30That is Ferrandez on the Ducati.
09:31He's the head of this group.
09:33That is fourth.
09:34Prado is right behind him on his Red Bull KTM.
09:37Hampshire, March Banks, Van de Moosdyke, and then it would be Coonan.
09:41So this is going to get interesting, this pack right here.
09:44Yeah, giving it a couple laps, maybe less than that, the 104 if you're joining these guys.
09:49Good part.
09:50They've got a great battle going on.
09:52Dylan's leading this charge right here.
09:54You can tell he's about 15 seconds or so behind Hayden Deegan.
09:58So for him, he's dictating that he doesn't have that rabbit to chase because Hayden's so far from him.
10:04So this battle might bunch up just because of that rabbit, Dylan's not having to chase, and he's gotten to
10:09seeing his lines.
10:11Now, there was a lot of intrigue on the Ducati yesterday because over in MXGP, where they have quite a
10:16few sand races,
10:17they've been better for the Ducati on the hard patch in the sand.
10:20So they were wondering how it worked.
10:21So far, so good today for Ferrandez.
10:24Katie?
10:25Yeah, so far, so good.
10:26He did go down and qualify, and then that second one with a couple of changes within the suspension in
10:31the front end.
10:32But he said he was good.
10:33The bike was good.
10:34You know, one of the things that was also interesting about what he was telling me,
10:37last week's recovery after Redbud was maybe a little bit different than what he had had in years past.
10:42It was so hot.
10:43It was so humid.
10:44And he had had that crash within the moto.
10:46So recovery for Dylan was a little bit different this week than what is traditional.
10:51Well, thanks, Katie.
10:53Yeah, there's been a lot of learning going on over there.
10:55and he's going to learn quickly because here comes Prado trying to make moves.
11:04Now Jorge had a great pace this morning, looking good.
11:09Actually, he's been looking solid all day long, kind of stuck behind Dylan at the moment.
11:14I feel like if Jorge can get around him, like my brother was trying to pull that gap.
11:19So 104 is coming for sure.
11:20Lucas.
11:22How about this battle?
11:23You got the Frenchman, the Spaniard, the Spanish rider, Hampshire from America, March base America, then the Dutchman and the
11:32Belgian rider, and then Tondel from Norway.
11:35Unbelievable how this has turned out, especially this summer.
11:39And then you have two Australians out front, so there's the entire entry list.
11:45Look at how many countries represented.
11:47It is the World Cup in a different sense here as Prado tries to figure a way around Ferrandez.
11:54I believe one of our guys went down, JT.
11:57JT.
11:57Yeah, he did.
11:58I was trying to pick up.
11:59I watched it in real time.
12:00One of those in the battle there ended up on the ground.
12:03But I'm very interested to see if Lucas Kunin catches up to the rear of Jorge Prado, how that goes
12:09down, because that's a battle of pride.
12:11Remember, Prado won two times in a row the championship that Lucas Kunin is currently leading in Europe at the
12:16moment, and they are on that same Red Bull KTM team.
12:19He is not going to want to watch Lucas Kunin right off into the sunset here.
12:23And JT, it's odd that, by the way, Kunin, being only 19, races a 450, but isn't it true that
12:29part of it was because Prado's departure from that team kind of left an opening for Kunin to take?
12:35Well, there's no question.
12:36That was the direct result of Prado heading to America at West Red Bull KTM to Carly racing without a
12:43premier rider.
12:44Enter Lucas Kunin, and here we are a couple of years later.
12:47Yeah, might be bar to bar here soon if Kunin keeps it up. Prado riding very well, still cannot get
12:52Ferrandez, and it indeed was Hebshire dropped from this group.
12:57Yeah, shout out to Dylan. Dylan's picked up the pace as well because he was able to get around, but,
13:03yeah, it looks like going a tough break for RJ.
13:06He was in the middle of all these guys.
13:10I'll show you the Hebshire crash. Here he is in the middle of the white.
13:14How smart of him. Yeah, you can see him, like, he wasn't all the way in that berm, and he's
13:18just caught, like, a ledge, that hard face to it, um, and just loses the front end, just until injury
13:24gets roosted, and you heard Levi in that first motor, you talk about when you stop here, that heat hits
13:29you, it's tough enough just to deal with the sand in general, but stopping is even worse.
13:35Oh, look at this. Last time around, Hunter Lawrence, six tenths quicker than Jett.
13:43Yeah, and this was the question, and I'm more interested to see how Jett's body language looks, you know, because
13:48it looks a lot different the way he's riding, attacking these bumps than he did a couple laps ago, because
13:53he looked a lot better.
13:54But then we go back to the beginning part of the race, because of what Hunter did last weekend, it
13:58doesn't put as much pressure on him if he doesn't let his brother get too far away.
14:02And at this moment, Hunter is living in the moment.
14:06I did it last weekend. I've done it to Jorge, and this is going to happen.
14:12It looks like Hunter has a, uh, I guess, front, uh, oh, the fourth guard.
14:17Yeah, four guards off. Wow. Now they're saying it's sectors two and three, where he is faster, and you see
14:25Coonan looking to make the move on March Banks at the bottom box.
14:28I'll show you where sector two begins. It's going to be right after this jump right after this.
14:34So this is the area from here where Hunter's been making up time.
14:40Looks like almost the same right there.
14:44And the bottom box Coonan is right there now with Prado and Ferrandez, and ahead of March Banks.
14:52Yeah, it might not be a fair test on this lap, Jason, because, you know, Hunter knows, like, there's no
14:58point in getting too close to him in a second, and I can't pass, because I've got to eat all
15:01that route, so he might not have charged in there.
15:03Because clearly he has, uh, paces.
15:08It's like Prado made the move around Ferrandez, so that'll move Prado up to the course.
15:14Trying to get back in there, Jorge's like, man, I gotta go.
15:19And Kooten all over Ferrandez now. Ferrandez, the 2021 champion of this series, helping develop that brand new Ducati.
15:27Got Pablo Chiavati there, who is the manager of this racing program for Ducati.
15:33And we're halfway through the moto.
15:36Feels like I've been out here a while, but plenty yet to unfold.
15:39We're about to stock up on Monster Energy, and here comes the 104.
15:44Yeah, when you get the shots, just watch how much momentum Lucas has around the whole racetrack, especially, like, his
15:51middle part of his corners, and even entering.
15:53He's just going a lot faster than everyone else, and you can just tell when he gets to these guys,
16:00it's almost like he's getting held up.
16:01Boy, he is getting held up, but it's almost shocking to him that they haven't, they're going this pace as
16:06he just goes around the outside of Dillon, and that's that momentum I'm talking about.
16:11Running these different lines, and that's the way he looked at practice as well.
16:16So, wow.
16:17So, from 39th to 5th, and you know he's going to try to track down Prado as well.
16:24Now, the huge gap, as mentioned, is between 3rd and 4th, because Deegan is running with the Lawrence's.
16:30He is 21 seconds ahead of Prado.
16:35And Hunter continuing to close on Jett for the lead.
16:38Yeah, and we saw last weekend, if once Hunter got up close to Jorge, and the same thing with Jett,
16:45it's almost like he takes a little break, and then he really attacks him.
16:48And once he gets around him, he puts in a sprint.
16:50So, at this moment, with 13 minutes left, Hunter understands, like, man, I probably have him, and if it was
16:57anybody else outside of my greatly talented brother, I would just sit back and let this race come to me,
17:03because eventually I'm going to get that pass.
17:04But you never know what's number one.
17:07And the teammates for the day now battling at the bottom.
17:10Prado and Kunin.
17:12Prado leading him.
17:15Yeah, Jorge has definitely picked up the pace, as you can see.
17:19These guys are starting to pull away from Dillon, but, yeah, if you just watch these two, you know, Lugage,
17:27and even Jorge, at this moment, just the momentum they got going around there.
17:31But I will say this, Jett Lawrence out front.
17:34He can't allow, like, if, you know, the hard part is his racing, he's going to start worrying about Hunter,
17:39maybe start slowing down, but Hayden Deegan is riding really good behind him, only five and a half seconds.
17:44So, it's not like if Jett was like, I'll settle for second place on this motor, if Hunter's got too
17:49much pace.
17:49Hayden's been hanging with Hunter pretty much his whole motor, except for his last couple laps.
17:54He's got to deal with him as well.
17:58Well, you've been revealing so much about race strategy we saw last week when Hunter dug real deep
18:03to get to Prado, and then really took a lap to get his breath under control, and then go back
18:09at it.
18:10So, while they're playing that game a little bit, it is actually Deegan, the quickest on track last time around,
18:16almost waiting for the attack for the 96.
18:19Yeah, and the thing is, Hayden knows that as well.
18:23He knows eventually what he wants, his Hunter, to catch Jett.
18:26And then as those guys battling, Jett's trying to block him, brings Hayden back in there.
18:30So, Hayden's probably going to try to put his fast lap times in there and not let this gap,
18:34because he knows the opportunity to be able to get these guys might be right now if they start battling
18:37in Haiti.
18:38Yeah, that's right, Stu.
18:40And one thing to note for Jett was this week on Wednesday, he ended up going to the docks.
18:44He wanted to make sure he wasn't doing anything extra damaging for his foot out racing.
18:48And the good news is, he wasn't.
18:50In fact, he was looking for reassurance, and there wasn't anything more harm, any more harm to his foot.
18:54The docks says he's on track, and he's quicker than the average person.
18:57And so that did have to give him a little bit of confidence, also with that foot peg coming in.
19:01So, Jett obviously feeling a little lighter here today.
19:05Yeah, and just, you know, thinking about this battle, I want to see how this goes,
19:09because we have evidence of this going either direction.
19:13Think about the way Hangtown went.
19:14Hunter sat back there, he got into second, and then Jett, at the halfway point, he took off,
19:19and he put in a couple laps that Hunter had no response for.
19:23You contrast that with last week at Redbud, where it really felt like there was a shift.
19:27Hunter really kind of weighed into Jett at the halfway point.
19:31The last few minutes, Jett had nothing to push back with.
19:34So, this is another test, and I'm very curious to see how this goes.
19:38But so far, Jett's responded a little bit here.
19:40Hey, responding also, look at the bottom box there.
19:43It is Koonan, pressure on and making moves.
19:47Looks like he got around Prado.
19:48Yeah, he was working on him.
19:50Jorge actually was doing a good job picking up his pace as they pulled away from Dylan.
19:53But, yeah, it's hard to stop that momentum when it's going.
19:57But, yeah, to JT point, that's what I was actually going to say.
19:59I think it's a big moto for Jett not to allow what happened last weekend to happen again
20:04because then it becomes a trend.
20:06We know he knows how to race these guys and with the race strategies,
20:09and I believe that's what he's doing, having this opportunity as we watch him replay.
20:15Hunter's fourth guard, I think, pops off, or you see him hitting that hard bottom.
20:21Does that cause any issue, really?
20:24Oh, I mean, no, not at the moment.
20:26Look as it stays off.
20:28I think it's good that it's hanging towards the outside, that it misses the tire.
20:33But probably Hunter's probably not even seeing that thing at the moment.
20:37He's looking ahead of his brother.
20:39And, truthfully, if he's looking down at that, he's not going to be going fast anyway.
20:43He's looking out.
20:45That is not a functional part in so far as it doesn't affect the way the front suspension works.
20:49It's designed to prevent the force from getting damaged from rocks and roots.
20:53As long as it doesn't start, as you said, getting caught in something, then you can have a problem.
20:57But go back to Prado.
20:58Very quick in the second qualifying session today.
21:02And certainly was looking forward to Southwick because he has a ton of sand experience from his time in MXGP.
21:09Moved to Belgium and Holland area to ride sand a lot.
21:13And riding well, but not able to hold Koonin back.
21:16Yeah, another good solid moto for Jorge at the moment.
21:19I'm sure it is tough for him to watch, you know, Lucas run by.
21:23But if anything, you know, just follow his lines because Lucas actually has some really good lines.
21:27He's opening up some of the corners and even there until Jorge switched up his line.
21:32And let's see if he can make a rebound, try to run him down because 104, he has a great
21:37pace.
21:42And Chet Lawrence has opened it back to 3.7 seconds over Hunter.
21:47So trying to reclaim momentum in this series.
21:51And Chet has never lost on a 450 here at Southwick.
21:54Three starts, three wins.
21:55He swept all the motos.
21:57We're going to do it again.
21:59Well, it's hard to find many places that Chet has never lost.
22:04And a lot of those places that he ever lost was this year by Hunter Lawrence.
22:07He's out-beaten him for the first time.
22:10And now deep in a lot of traffic is Chet.
22:13But you don't even see Hunter back there right now.
22:15He's definitely stretched it.
22:19That's Rod Bell.
22:20There is Hunter on the right.
22:22We're going to show you Deegan here who has definitely hung tough.
22:26Deegan's certainly not the sand riding background of these riders who have spent time in Europe, including the Lawrences.
22:32But he's riding pretty well here.
22:34He's riding well.
22:35And those two out front, they just kept that pace going.
22:38And Hayden wasn't able to close.
22:40They didn't battle each other.
22:41Slow it down.
22:42And Hayden just kind of lost that toe, JT.
22:44Yeah, and to your point there, James, Hayden has gotten a lot better in the sand.
22:49If you go back to 2023, this was the round where he really struggled.
22:52Everybody was wondering, well, can he ever figure the sand out?
22:56He came back with a vengeance in 2024, backed that up in 2025, rented this racetrack alongside Cooper Webb a
23:03few weeks ago.
23:03And this is one of his best performances comparatively in 2026.
23:07So great job to Hayden here.
23:08Well, yeah, JT, and talking with the team, actually when they did their 450 prep during 250 Supercross,
23:13they never did do a sand track setup until right after High Flint, where you're kind of talking about.
23:18They came here.
23:19They got that sand track setup going.
23:21They said they have a different fork, shock, and chassis parts.
23:23And then they continued on their sand, searching for their sand setup in the Carolinas at Fenix, Dax Fenix Compound.
23:32So they're really doing all they can to be a sand master, as you guys said, at the top of
23:36this race.
23:39Thanks, Katie.
23:40Yeah, I've got to imagine when you're new to the 450, as we see another crash here from Hampshire.
23:47Oh, same thing.
23:49Oh!
23:51Yeah, RJ.
23:52Yeah, I just wanted to say, that was a little different, because he just got up into that deep sand,
23:57and then that bike buried on him, got a little too far up in the burn, and then, yeah,
24:02catches another round of buck with him.
24:04I was going to say about Deegan, yeah, when you have and have not raced a 450 before,
24:10how important is it to, how much is the setup going to change,
24:14and how much do you have to work on that for a sand track compared to all the other testing
24:18it would have done?
24:19Well, yeah, it's a huge difference, and I think that's one of the things,
24:22when I got to the bigger bike, back then it was 250s, but then we went to 450s.
24:26What I noticed is, jumping from the little one, so the 250F to the 450, was that you couldn't override
24:32it.
24:32Like, my skills only got so far, and then I really needed the bike and the team to help,
24:37where in the 250 class, I think, hey, his talent could override maybe some of the issues that he did
24:42have with the bike,
24:43or you got Jet Lawrence, Hunter Lawrence, so competition, bigger bike, makes it look a lot drastic,
24:49like it's a way off, but really it's just better talent and a harder motorcycle setup.
24:54How about Roan Van de Moosdijk here, making tracks toward Verandes, this would be for seven.
25:01So, well done by March Banks, actually, he got around Verandes as well.
25:05And now the Dutchman looking to get the Frenchman.
25:09The three digits is in these days, everybody on the three digits,
25:13getting it done, and he was like, who is this guy?
25:18He's a really friendly guy, got to talk to him quite a bit yesterday.
25:21He attended press day, and we asked Roan about growing up in the sand.
25:30Wait a minute.
25:31I think I know a track 50 minutes from where I live.
25:35I think it's similar dirt, so, like I said, I grew up racing the sand,
25:41and I just want to have a feel how it turns out here.
25:47Oh, I heard there might have been a crash up front
25:49while we were sending it to the interview there with Van de Moosdijk.
25:53Did it affect the lead? Yes, Hunter is now on the lead.
25:56Yeah, he went down somewhere.
25:59He's still ahead of Hayd Deegan, which Hayd's pretty close to him as well, but, yeah.
26:06Okay, we got a replay here.
26:09This is where Joe Shimoda went down earlier in practice, so, yeah, you can see that.
26:13So, what happened was Jet jumped a little too far.
26:15He missed his line he wanted to do.
26:18He still tried getting into it.
26:20That bike kind of hooked up, and he still got in there, got off balance, and went down.
26:23So, easy mistake, but he just probably jumped a couple inches too long,
26:27and that caused that crash.
26:30Man, these are just not scenarios we're used to seeing.
26:33Obviously, this is all begins with the foot injury that he's trying to come back from,
26:38but we are in the every time Jet looks to be getting momentum on his side,
26:43something leads to his undoing.
26:45It's been the opposite for several years for him,
26:47and now everything rolling the way of the 96.
26:52Yeah, I mean, it's a tough break for Jet.
26:54I mean, I know he's still running in second.
26:56All is good for him.
26:58I mean, he's still here in the championship,
26:59but he's got to believe, like, a lot of that's caused by his brother, Hunter Lawrence,
27:03staying there, putting that pressure.
27:05Maybe in the past that Jet would get that gap.
27:07and you look over his gap to Hayden Deegan, 12-second gap.
27:11I don't think that happens, but Hunter continues to fight,
27:14and the fact is, Jet knows Hunter is going to continue to fight
27:17and always be there in that moto.
27:18He has to continue fighting, and then makes these mistakes.
27:21Obviously, it's 96 there to capitalize.
27:24Could be his first moto loss on the 450 here at this track.
27:30Gets around Corolli here, puts him a lap down.
27:36See how much farther inside that he was.
27:38He hit that line that he wanted to do.
27:43Wait, is that Coonan?
27:46Is it the bike?
27:48Or is he dazed?
27:49Well, he's walking off.
27:51Is it the motorcycle?
27:53Uh-oh, this is not what you want to see for a rider
27:56managing a point lead over an MXGP.
27:59No, I believe that's him.
28:01You look at his pants, uh, no, and the bars.
28:09Oh, man.
28:10And this track is so unforgiving.
28:13It's all right.
28:15Yeah.
28:17Man.
28:19Just like Jet Lawrence, you just never know what is going to happen.
28:22I think we have it here.
28:24Prado was close.
28:26Yeah, great ride.
28:27Obviously, I don't know if Lucas got...
28:29Oh, no, that was a motorcycle.
28:31Uh-oh.
28:33Yeah, that bike locked up.
28:35And you go for a ride when that happens.
28:40Yeah, so it was both.
28:41It was.
28:42Um, he hit the ground, but...
28:46James, that reminds me so much of your crash you had here.
28:49Your bike locked up.
28:51Different jump.
28:51Different section.
28:52Same racetrack.
28:53Similar situation.
28:54It just reminds me so much that once it stops momentum, you're going forward.
28:58It's game over.
29:00Yeah, great to see him, um, walking off.
29:03And, yeah, JT, that was, uh, mine's the same thing.
29:06It stopped in a little different circumstance.
29:08I was laid over there, but, yeah, as a rider, that is your worst fear.
29:12I was wondering why he gave a little cowabunga, whatever it was.
29:15Yeah.
29:16Obviously, he was letting those guys know he's okay, because you know everybody at KTM, their heart dropped.
29:20Probably feeling bad.
29:22Good to see him out there, but back to this dude.
29:27He's hauling the mail right now.
29:28The 9,600 Lawrence.
29:30Yeah, for Kunin, that is the one thing that the KTM folks don't want to see happen.
29:34Him get hurt while out here competing in a race that's not part of the series that he's pursuing.
29:40Hopefully, he's able to escape.
29:42And maybe even will be back for Moto2.
29:45Man, Prada was pushing him.
29:47Prada was close.
29:48He's back up to fourth, Mel.
29:50I noticed as soon as Lucas got by him from looking at Jorge's line before that, he switched it up.
29:56So, obviously, he followed him and kept that pace on.
30:00Yeah.
30:01Capitalized on these mistakes.
30:04So, be the first Moto win for Hunter and Southwick.
30:06That is Foon, and he got a ride.
30:08Make life a little easier up that hill.
30:10That's a huge hill.
30:11You can't tell on TV, but that is a big help for Lucas right there at the moment.
30:16I would say that's the toughest hill in motocross.
30:18That's even tougher than Mount Martin.
30:19Oh, wow.
30:20Somebody else down.
30:21Yeah, the bad part.
30:24Christian Craig, we hear, is the rider that Hunter just went by the Quad Lock Honda.
30:29And this track knows no bounds.
30:32Yeah, and ironically, what JT was talking about when my bike blew up, it was actually in that section that
30:36Christian Craig was down in.
30:38It's a blonde section.
30:40And then caught me out a couple times in my career.
30:46Well, the record book won't show that this is five straight moto wins for Hunter because the first moto last
30:53week got away.
30:54It really wasn't his fault.
30:56As they found out, leaned it over in a corner, got so much sad, and maybe a rock in the
31:01chain guard just locked the bike up.
31:03And that's why he fell and did not win the moto where he was clearly the best guy on the
31:08track.
31:08Yeah, but just like this, I would say the difference between this track and last weekend, you notice that Hunter
31:14almost went down a couple times in this lap lap.
31:17But now, this is the Southwick, this track could reach up and bite you as it did all these guys.
31:23So Hunter's got to be concentrated because the way this racetrack is, it would come up and bite him and
31:28be on the ground just like he was last weekend.
31:31And that's the Southwick racetrack.
31:33And if you're JT, we saw the frustration last week.
31:36How do you not let this type of momentum, another win that slips away, how do you stay positive through
31:42that?
31:43He's got to be both.
31:44Yeah, I mean, he's going to be.
31:46But I think at the same time, he looked better this weekend because he was able to pull away back,
31:52pull away from Hunter.
31:53Yes, he made that mistake.
31:55But last weekend, when Hunter got there, he had no fight.
31:58Like, there was nothing he could do.
31:59At least this time, he was showing some, you know, resilience and was getting away.
32:03So who knows if Hunter would have been able to catch him or not.
32:06But he's going to be upset.
32:08But at the same time, he's got to feel better about his performance that he had at least to fight
32:12here.
32:14And still would, of course, have a shot at the overall win.
32:17He can come back and win Moto 2.
32:19Definitely looked like he was capable of it.
32:21But things are rolling Hunter Lawrence's way.
32:24There's Craig's bike still down.
32:26And you see him being attended to by the Alpine Stars Medics.
32:29Hope that Christian's okay.
32:31Veteran out of California.
32:33Hunter Lawrence.
32:36It is becoming more and more repeatable.
32:39And more and more the same thing.
32:41You're talking three totally different tracks.
32:43He's high point, red button, and south foot.
32:45And this guy just keeps on winning.
32:47Yeah, he does.
32:48And he's doing them all different types of weight.
32:50And eventually, it just started getting in your mind, you know, your jet or anybody else.
32:55Like, just like we thought about Hayden Deegan in that 250 class.
32:58Like, oh, boy.
32:59No matter how big a lead I got, he's around.
33:01It's going to be a problem, the Hunter's showing that.
33:06Oh, this track is tricky.
33:10Notice these guys, they get a little loose going into the corners.
33:12And then they'll just sit into it and put all that weight on the bike because they pretty much crashed.
33:17The only way they can save is by sitting in and holding on.
33:19Wow.
33:21And they're going to call it the red flag, I would presume, because Craig's bike is still down in the
33:26middle of the track.
33:27And that'll end this moto early.
33:29And it was a foregone conclusion that Hunter was headed for victory anyway.
33:34Again, I hope Craig's all right.
33:36And saw the camera, Cameron's mechanic back this weekend.
33:42Missed a couple rounds of the bad back.
33:45And Hutch, Grant Huntresson, the crew chief, had been filling in.
33:49So Hunter's going to bring this home.
33:51I can't remember the last time I saw a race end under red flag conditions.
33:55Yeah, I don't know if I have either.
33:56I don't think Hunter believed it either.
33:58He was still trying to, like, go fast.
34:00But I'd have a tough time trusting it.
34:03Yeah.
34:03To back it down like this.
34:06My dad was like, don't ever stop until you see checkered flags.
34:11So Hunter's going to take a shortcut to the podium.
34:14He has won the moto.
34:15That's four out of the last five.
34:19And again, the one he didn't win was one that got away last week at Red Bud.
34:23He is the hottest property in this series.
34:25It looked like Jet might have an answer for him.
34:27But the crash cost him.
34:28Expect a rematch in moto two.
34:38Deegan Prado Marchbanks will be top five, man.
